Amores Verdaderos #39 Thu 1/3/13 Both Angel with Hugs and RoboHunk with the blues are set up to look as baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad boys... Dances with Wolves might regret his new conquest

Refrito:
At KenDrat’s apt, she and Nil-Son have consummated, he praises her as a master at sensations of pleasure,  she feeds him a whole bowl of crap about it not being about sex, she truly has fallen in love.  Her cel phone rings, he reaches it before her, it is ‘Puchis’, so Nil-Son’s face of happy changes to jealousy, ‘who the hayride is Puchis??’

At the hotel room, Angel has arrived, sees all the deco and is drooling on the night he is about to enjoy. Suddenly music begins and the lights go dim, he has a screen in front of him with the one he believes is his wife dancing on the other side… I have to say I do believe this might be Erika herself. He begins to dance and undress as well while she continues her seductive dancing.  He gets on top of the coffee table (must be a strong table), he tosses his shirt over her ‘screen’. Then he smears something from the table all over his chest (Yuk!), then continues dancing on the other side of the screen. Once he screams ‘darn, woman! Let loose your hair please!!’ Vicky realizes it is him and she yells his name. Down comes the screen right on top of Angel.

Lo Nuevo:
Still at hotel room…
They are in shock, he runs toward the other end of room and tries to cover himself with the wine bucket. Lights come back on (who is at the lights?). She yells at him, he becomes a nervous wreck, then he tries to cover himself with some flowers off the table. She keeps yelling for him to cover up.  He yells at her to do same.

Back at KenDrat’s apt,. she has managed to take the phone from Nil-Son after telling him it is her aunt calling. Of course it is Dances with Sunglasses, who is irritated asking if she is with the imbecile Nil-Son. Nil-Son is getting up to leave, but not before accepting to have chinese food dinner with KenDrat. KenDrat is making it sound like her aunt is coming over to visit her soon.  Once she is alone, she asks DwS  if he got news on the lovebirds (tortolitos). DwS says they must be having a good time, they are still in room. He is leaving, so get rid of Nil-Son. She says he is gone. DwS says he is tired of eating the crumbs/leftovers, he will go elsewhere to have a good time. She says go for it and hangs up, she is drooling to find out details of what happened with the video of the lovebirds.

Back at Hotel:  Vicky keeps making Angel more and more nervous, yelling at him not to look at her.  IN between yelling at him she puts on the dress, and questions him why he is there and naked. He says he will ask her the same question.   As he puts back the screen, she gets to take another good look at his profile through the screen.  They exchange notes, they both received notes from spouses.  They both realize someone is trying to harm them.  But who and why. Angel says the bottle and invitation were in his room at her house, so the enemy must be in the house. Vicky says it must be someone who hates her and wants to harm her, they have to leave right away.
(I have to say these two communicate much better than Vicky and Nil-Son or Angel and Cristy)  Angel says whoever did this has lots of money, look at all they spent preparing this.   Asks Vicky if she suspects anyone. Vicky says I suspect everyone and no one at same time.  They both are embarrassed at what they just did, but they continue dancing (LOL!).  She wants to leave right away, but he stops her, reminds her someone could be out there waiting to see them leave together.  Angel suggests to call DwS to come pick her up. She say DwS is not there. Then RoboHunk.  Vicky is worried RH will suspect what is not happening. Angel says yeah but we have to do something… they continue arguing behind the screen…   Suddenly a knock on door, it is the hotel maid… another awkward scene… Angel tells her ‘this is supposed to be a private room, we would like to not be interrupted, there is no one here!’ (poor maid runs away embarrassed)  Vicky keeps nervous saying she wants to leave. Angel says sure we just have to think real good about what we will do. Angel insists they should have RoboHunk come get her and he will stay behind in room for a while longer. She reminds him his wife must be waiting for him. Angel says oopsie, yourright!... he starts dialing RoboHunk on cell phone but hums the song they just danced to, she tells him he is making her feel worse,  he admits he really liked the melody… they end up giggling about it.
Poor RoboHunk still in teary eyes on his bed answers the call, Angel asks him to pick up Vicky at the hotel lobby, call her when you get here… it is just that DwS is busy and I am in my night off… RoboHunk dryly says he will leave right now.

At the apartment, Lilly and Bea and son are leaving Cristina alone to enjoy the evening with her husband. Cristy is happy anticipating a great evening.

At hotel, Vicky asks Angel for a huge favor, forget everything that happened here, I will do same. Angel promises her he will make a huge effort to forget this… she asks him not to dance anymore, maybe that way you will forget sooner.  Vicky mumbles to herself she would give anything to find out who planned this nasty prank and what for.

At B house, Nicky is kicking/insulting herself with regret for having gone to see RoboHunk since he pushed her out if his room, she is thinking he is thinking of the woman who sent him the photo (Bea).  She feels he humiliated her, surely that woman is a horrific jerk… but if he is with her, why did he kiss me? … he is a jerk!! He does not get paid enough and he wants my kisses as a bonus/tip!  Later, eating a huge bag of chips, she promises herself she will do anything she can to get him out of her house and her life.

In kitchen, Tomasina is daydreaming how nice it must be going to Vicky right about now… She thinks Nil-Son felt jealous of Angel and turned his passion dial up with Vicky.  RoboHunk tells her he is going to pick up Vicky. Tomasina is in shock.

Cristina has set up a lovely dinner table at the apartment, and is drooling in anticipation of the evening.  She has dressed up and got makeup on, even put on a seductive cologne that is seducing even herself with.

Polita and Lilli are commenting in the green house, Polita tells her all about her Cinderella date with RoboHunk, she even declared her love for him.  But he told her he did not want a relationship with her or with anyone. Lilly says that is how men are, they are avoiding commitment, but suddenly the right girl comes to them and they are hooked.  Polita asks if she has any chance. Lilly says RoboHunk could fall for a girl anytime.

At a bar that looks like a cave, Bea is looking for ‘Leonardo’.  (her husband).  She is hesitating to go inside.  Inside, Dances with Sunglasses is dancing the night away and even singing along to … what else?... salsa!  As Bea comes in she walks around and is scanned bottom to top by some men around. Dances with Sunglasses also spots her.

At another bar, Leonardo is telling some other guy what he told her. He says things will be done his way. The other guy asks if he would not like to know if she did show up at that place. Leonardo is saying Bea knows him, she knows what she is risking by being with another man, neither of them would ‘no lo cuenta’ (live long enough to tell about it).

At the other bar Bea realizes Leonardo is not coming, but Dances with Sunglasses grabs her before she can leave.  He says he did not mean to startle her. Introduces himself and adds his nickname. Bea asks ‘did you say Salsero?’ He says yeah, it is obvious, for me salsa is the best invention of man.
She says salsa is her favorite genre too. She says her appointment did not arrive so she is leaving. HE says please stay a while longer, maybe that person is just a bit late.  Some drunk guy comes and bumps her, Salsero plays bodyguard (LOL!) for a second and shoves the guy away.   He manages to convince her to stay a while and they sit in the ‘Reserved’ table.  She says she used to come with her ‘boyfriend’ and they would dance the night away. He turns down a girl that comes to ask him to dance.    They chit chat for a while.

At the apartment, Cristina is getting upset that Jose Angel won’t arrive.  And she waits… and she waits.  She gives up and heads to bed. At that moment Angel arrives… and her smiles and happiness of earlier are long gone… she welcomes him with same angry jealous rage of usual.
He manages to convince her with hugs and kisses… we are alone?... how alone?...   Kissy kissy…

At B house, Vicky arrives… Polita tells her Nil-Son said he was going to have dinner with some friends.    Tomasina comes to find out what happened with Nil-Son. Vicky says please don’t ask.
Later she goes up to Nicky’s room and finds her throwing up. Nicky won’t talk about why she did not tell anyone she did not feel well. Nicky throws conforter on herself… Vicky is still thinking… nausea, sleepiness… those are signs of pregnancy… dear God.

At bar, Bea and Dances keep on their chit chat… she feels bad and wants to leave.  He grabs her hand and asks her to dance with him.   And they dance… and they look pretty good, as if they have danced together for a good while… but she still looks hesitating, like she is afraid for what is to come.

Outside B house, Nabila is still bugging RoboHunk, questions if he does not like women. He responds I do but not women of your type. She gets offended. She questions if he thinks she is disgusting (nefasta). He says ‘you said it, I didn’t’.  She threatens him that he will pay dearly for this one. He asks why is he going to pay for something she said. She says if you think I am bad, I will SHOW YOU bad. And leaves in a huff.  RoboHunk rolls his eyes, like thinking he got bigger problems to deal with than this brat.

Inside the house Tomasina and Vicky comment on their suspicion of what is happening with Nicky, then when Nabila comes in Vicky makes the mistake of trusting her with their suspicions.
Nabila follows the lead, she does also think Nicky is pregnant.  She assures Vicky that Nicky got pregnant by Francisco (now we see how BAD this girl can be).

At some chinese food place, Nil-Son and KenDrat are lauging off about some stories KenDrat is making up about either a friend or her aunt.

At the bar, Bea is leaving, almost running out of the place… She is signaling to a cab… but drops a scarf which Dances with Sunglasses very conveniently picks up.. ‘you didn’t even tell me your name’. (does this sound like Cinderella with the glass slipper to anyone else?)  Nil-Son calls Dances on cel, seems he wants Dances to pick him up. When he hangs up Dances is miffed about Nil-Son acting like Dances is his lap dog 24/7.

At the apartment, Cristina is watching some cops/bang bang movie and gets scared, but Jose Angel is sound asleep. He is actually dreaming of Vicky…  he is whispering … ‘bella, bella, bella’ (beautiful), then moving his hand like he is dancing to that tune they had at the hotel room.

Back at B house, Vicky is telling Tomasina about what Nabila told her.  How could he betray our trust? .. Tomasina blames it in the chinese horoscope.  A combination of dragon with monkey with a metal goat. Is explosive! No wonder Nicky came out of his bathroom drenched while Guzman was inside! This startles Vicky even more.  No wonder Nicky was so interested in finding out if Guzman was married or not… (in comes said Guzman to get some coffee, Vicky summons him to the table).
V: I want to know why you lied to me… why didn’t you tell me that Nicky was pregnant with your child. (Poor RoboHunk’s chin is down on floor)

Previews:  KenDrat is watching the video… seems they do show the video to Nil-Son (apparently using the black wig character and the video room at the office) and the plan works.
Guzman asks Vicky if Nicky is pregnant, Vicky says don’t deny it, it is yours!  Apparently Vicky wants him to comply with his ‘duty’ and Nicky is only too happy to follow along with this skid.

Marta - Love the title. Terrific recap.

So Vickie knows someone with access inside her house is trying to damage her, but doesn't tell Tomasina, who's probably the smartest person in this TN and saw KendHo in the bodyguards' quarters.

Nice to see Salsero with a woman with blood in her veins. I'm thinking he may really like Beatriz and come in handy with her nutjob husband.

Thanks so much Marta. Wonderful recap.

Is it bad that I'm rooting for Salsero and Bea? They looked really good together on the dance floor. At the very least, I'm looking forward to seeing Salsero beat the crap out of Guillo. This could be quite an interesting plot twist if Salsero really falls for Bea.

Niecie- Yeah, Vicky should have immediately started questioning Tomasina about who could be the culprit, instead of taking all that time to swirl her Baileys around.

Poor Guzman just can't catch a break. I wonder if this accusation of being a baby-daddy to a fake baby will prompt him to spill Niki's eating disorder secret.

Thank you, Marta!

Madelaine:
"Tomasina, who's probably the smartest person in this TN"

Probably? She is! :) My friends just call her the kindergarten teacher.

Vivi:
"Is it bad that I'm rooting for Salsero and Bea?"

Welcome to the club. :)

Thank you for the recap, Marta! Wonderful job as always!

Count me in as a fan of Salsero and Bea. And yes I think he will come in handy as a defender of Bea against Useless Bully Husband.

Does telenovela law indicate whether Salsero is past redemption? As far as I recall he's only been responsible (indirectly or directly?) for the deaths of fellow bad guys. If he does fall for Bea my first guess is that he'll redeem himself through death (no spoilers obviously) but what do I know?

We had what's-his-name on La Fuerza Del Destino (just can't remember his name now) who was a bad guy at first and a guilty pleasure for a lot of us, and he married the blind girl at the end. So redemption sometimes does happen like that. But I think he was a nobler character than our Salsa Dude. Anyone else have any thoughts?

Never saw the embarazada accusation thing coming. They are throwing surprises at us right and left! Tonight will be must see TV to be sure!

I kind of like the Bea/Salsero thing. They certainly looked good together on the dance floor! I mainly want Salsero to give Leo the beatdown!!!

Thomasina could share a thing or two if given a hint! Vikki is certainly holding her cards close. She knows that someone had to know she was meeting Odette and JA's note was in quarters at her abode.

Are we sure that Paula and Cristina aren't related? They both come out shooting with both barrels at the drop of a hat; Paula wails and Cristina accuses! Cristina is like Anibal - the world revolves around them and they are the most important - with occasional sidetrips of noblesse oblige.

As to the upcoming Nikki/Frankie: Que the hell?

Great recap as always. Love this show and all recappers!

To Cris's credit, Angel told her he'd see her that afternoon. She went shopping for rabbit to make his favorite stew, got all dolled up and set the table with candles, and got everybody out of the house so they'd be alone. He show up late at night and didn't even call to tell her he'd be late. No surprise she was angry - who wouldn't be? To my pleasant surprise, she didn't mention Vickie at all and simply fussed cause he stood her up.

Marta, wonderful recap. So funny. Loved the Bea/Sunglasses duo too. They are so good together, and I hope Dances gives Leo that beatdown. I think Dances will be protecting her alot from Leo.

Elvira, you are thinking of Antolin, Marcelo Cordoba, that married Carolina and redeemed himself. True Dances hasn't been as complicit as Kendho, in trying to destroy Vikki. I think he could be redeemed. Dances may be turning a corner and getting away from Kendho.

Teresita, so agree about Cris and the accusations, but Cris is kinda insecure. She just loves her hubby so much.

Poor Guzmi, didn't see the preggers thingy coming either. I wonder how far they will take this, and I really hope Guzmi lets out Nikki's little secret about the eating disorder. Nabila needs to go already. Didn't like how Vikki just accuses Guzmi of being the baby daddy. Probrecito!

Poor Vikki and the Angel, they were so very embarrased, but at least Angel is smart too and figured out it must have been someone in the house that set him and Vikki up. Hopefully they find out who it is.

yaaay! Salsero and Bea!!

Thank you Super Marta.

Also thanks Anita for your help yesterday. It seems like spoiled rich girl is starting to act half human after all. I think that the Brat and Guzman romance will be a rocky one,at least at first. It will be interesting to see how it developes.

Bea and Salsero could also turn out to be very interesting.

Yesterday someone made a comment that Amores was booring. Not for me, I love it. I know that everyone has different tastes. Most people rave about Amor Bravio but I just couldn't connect with it. I watched it for about twenty or more episodes but didn't like several of the cast characters and couldn't get into the story line---
I stopped watching it. Well you win some and you loose some but for me, this one is a winner.

Am I going to have to go out and buy some Bailey's? They must have paid a lot to be so prominent in this novela.

Big trouble tonight over the secret video---can't wait.

Finally---Bea got dressed up to see her X que?
the gringo

Madelaine, it was Antolin! Antolin! My guilty pleasure Antolin (now Pluto on Por Ella). Sigh.

I hope you're right about our Salsa Dude being redeemable. What I measure as irredeemable is when someone is responsible for the killing of innocents. So far I don't think he's done that. He'll have to turn around and do some really good thing to "undo" his part in the kidnapping of Nikki and the attempts on Vicki. As far as I know the kidnappers themselves didn't kill anyone (or did they?).

I may be too much into wishful thinking here. But it's irresistible! Poor Bea needs a knight in shining amour and the actor playing the Salsa Dude has an appeal. And I'm a sucker for redemption stories.

As for this show being "boring," no, I never saw it that way. It may be a bit slow, but I enjoy all the characters, so it's not a problem for me. I've even got my mom hooked (she LOVES Big Ed). I may have liked Amor Bravio, but I couldn't fit another into my viewing schedule about the time that it started.

Gringo- I too think Bailey's must be a huge sponsor of this show. It is everywhere, lol. I too didn't get why Bea dressed up so much just to see that rat bastard of a husband. I think she wanted to get him to come to some type of mutual agreement, but then he stood her up. He needs a fork in the face, like we like to say over on Por Ella.

Elvira and Gringo- agree with both of you about this TN. I just love it. I recap Por Ella every other Friday, and I have to say this TN is funnier. This TN may not be so much plot driven as character driven. Love the characters here. I too stopped watching AB after that horrid uncle raped his neice. I couldn't take it after that. I love drama and mystery but can't get into rapes and body counts.

Elvira- You are right about Dances. He hasn't killed anyone yet and the idea of the kidnaps came from Kendho, and I think also from Odiodette (Thanks Neice in MD). Odiodette hates Vikki and Anibal with a passion. I think Kendho now is irredemable. She has done too much horrid stuff already and I hate the way she is so manipulative especially with Nikki and stringing Nil-son along. Even though I can't stand Nilson either.

off topic... Univision Transforms Telefutura Into UniMás

Vivi, i hope you mean Leo (Leonardo), not GUillo. Anyway, i too love the Dances with S and Bea story. at least she will have someone who protects her from Leo (besides Francisquito) and he will be a bit distracted from giving Francisquito and Angel such a hard time.
Regarding him not having committed any serious crimes, remember at the very beginning when Angel first showed up at the house, he had to protect Vicky from thugs who were going to kidnap her (or kill her) adn those thugs were sent by Dances with S. But in reality he has not really been responsible for any good guys death (just because that plan and the one where they kidnapped Nicky both failed).

I too think this novela is more appealing to me than Amor Bravio. As much as I like Silvia Navarro, and i don't dislike Christian, it has not drawn me in like this one. The more i watch, the more i agree with Carlos, let the Francisquito/Nicky romance evolve! even if it begins on rocky terrain like with this fake pregnancy accusation, it will give them some time to be alone together, and maybe she will get to know him more and trust him, he seriously needs something to go WELL in his emotional life right about now. But at this price?... not sure he deserves this. Between the nagging mother, sticky Nabila and the insufferable Nicky, he has his hands full for sure.

lol i goofed on the title, did not mean to say Dances with Wolves, meant Dances with Sunglasses (with a short fuse when it comes to shielding his women, i might add).

Gringo, i agree that Bea dressed quite nice to go meet her husband at the dance club... but that might just be part of who she is, i have not seen her badly dressed at all yet.
I will need to rewatch later tonight to see if Vicky got around to take a sip off that baileys with ice drink she served herself when she got to the house.

Marta- If I recall, I think she did take a tiny sip. I could be wrong though :) She needed to drink the whole thing after what happened at the hotel, lol.

I guess I'm an omnivore when it comes to tns. I enjoy all types and I love, love, love AB and its layered plot and tight main couple, and enjoy lighter fare like Amores with all its funny moments.

Marta- Yes. I did mean Leo, not Guillo, although the kids could do with a few swats the way he was talking to his mama last episode. :)

Nope. Vicky did not sip the Bailey's. I was watching for it.

Yes, this salsa scene was one of the reasons I became Salsero's fan.

Boring or not boring: I wrote an essay about Nicandro Díaz's shows a few weeks ago. All of his telenovelas have an awfully slow pacing - for example in the original Argentinian version the striptease scene happened in episode 16.

But fortunately this telenovela has at least 3 redeeming qualities: 1. likeable, charming, interesting characters*, 2. great humor (even if the show is unintentionally funny sometimes), 3. good actors who have good chemistry with each other.

* Congratulations to Marcela Citterio, the writer of the original Amor en custodia who created these people.

I love telenovelas that have more realistic/depressing/layered plots, and I wish I had time to follow Para volver a amar, La fuerza del destino, Amor bravío and others, but at the end of the day I always end up watching/doing something else. Nowadays I only watch telenovelas if my top 5-8 favourite actors are on them.

Marta- you are right about the first kidnap but the second I don't know, I thought that was Kendho's idea as well as the third where she engineered that, and also Kendho was the one that had Angel's house burned down with Lili still in it, she could have died. That's why I think Kendho is more complicit than Dances. Dances just wanted to kidnap Vikki for money. I hated those thugs that tried to kidnap Vikki the first and second times. I really think Dances will stop now and since he met Bea, I think he will take a turn for the better, Kendho I think will continue on her path.

I had another thought about Dances. I think he has it in for Nilson and not Vikki. I think the kidnap of Vikki may have been a way to hurt Nilson in some way. Dances has never been mean to Vikki, personally that is. I really think Vikki's kidnap plan was a way to get back at Nilson. We all know Dances can't stand Nilson and being at his beck and call and bedding Kendho too. I just hope Dances doesn't hurt Vikki or Nikki or Angel anymore.

I like the way Dances politely refused the invitation from his regular dance partner and the way he protected Beatriz from the guy bumping into her. He deserves to have a love scene without KendHo in it.

Thanks Marta for another great recap. Like the rest of you, I'm really enjoying this show.

I've been keeping a close eye on the Bailey's since it first appeared and I've yet to see anyone actually drink any. Just when you think someone might take a sip... the scene changes.

I'm glad that JA finally made it home. Didn't Cristina look great?

I'm pretty sure that Salsero hasn't killed anyone (yet), sooo, Salsero and Betty...OK by me.

Bring back el Turco!

Carlos

Tonight I'm going to pull out my bottle of Bailey's (that I was inspired by this tn to buy), add some to my hot chocolate, and sip it with delight while watching the show.

Thanks for the recap Marta. BTW, the "something" Angel was smearing on himself was chocolates. There was a big bowl of chocolates in the room, and he started smearing them on his face presumably to make himself more "appealing" to his "mujer" (whom he assumed was Cristina) behind the screen.

Anyone who is getting excited about the possibility of Salsero and Bea getting together should think hard about the scenes where he has slapped Kendra around in their little S&M insanity. The last thing Bea needs is another guy who will be smacking her as Leo has done so many times. And just because Salsero hasn't killed anyone doesn't make him husband and father material donchya know? Bea needs a dashing but kind man who will love and protect her and be a good dad to Guillo.

I'm yawning at the thought of having to spend probably another week on this false pregnancy drama with the Brat while no one ever gets down to the fact that she's killing herself with binging and purging. Hijole!!

Marta--Thank you for the mini-recap on the silouhette scene. The whole recap was a delight. Now, whoever thought that telling someone not to think about something is going to make them able to. Haha even in his sleep Big A was still dancing to Vicky's tunes.

I think it was your recap, Marta, that now has us all rooting for Bea and DWS. At first, when he grabbed Bea, I thought he might know her and was going to rough her up a bit. He talked to her differently than he does to KenDratHo. He's smitten. And the way he picked up her scarf and held it to his nose, hoping to keep her there a few more minutes, sadly realizing he didn't even know her name....he's got it bad.

In true tn fashion, Vicky has jumped to conclusions, confronts RH w/Blue Eyes out loud with a witness as if it is a done deal on the word of a questionable friend. Whaaa? Poor Nikki, she probably won't even get a chance to take a home pregnancy test before mama and Nill-son have her walking up the aisle....hmm, maybe Nikki wants to go along with it (so would I, I think).

Gringuita, thanks for confirming what Angel was smearing on his chest was chocolates, i thought i saw him get a bite and then smear the rest (probably cherry chocolates so there was guewy stuff to smear on)...
also, thanks for the reminder on the volatile/violent Dances can be with women, have to agree she does not need another rewind/replay of her day to day life with Leonardo. even if we currently root for Dances and her together, he will have to change and prove himself to her.

Marta,

Lovely, detailed recap.
Following my emotions, I love the couple of Bea & Salsero. The dancing was a wonderful surprise. However, with a background of masterminding a kidnapping, slapping a woman around, and lying about his near-death mother, he definitely does not appear to be marriage material - especially not for Bea who made a bad choice with Leonardo.

2 people I can think of who redeemed themselves were
Nihil- son's character in CME and the character in Sortilegio who was married to the character played by Chantal Andere...but I don't think they were as bad as Salsero. I don't see how she could overlook the kidnapping especially where her brother was in grave danger. He would have to do something extraordinary like rescue her son and be forever repentant; maybe that would do it.

How did the 2nd kidnapper die?

(Posted late - out all day)

marta - I'm late in getting to read this but I want to thank you for the recap.

Add me to the list of people hoping Bea and Salsero will become novios, so that DWS will put her violent husband in his place. Oh, wait, Salsero roughs up Kendra, so maybe I don't want him with Bea.

I'm very curious to see how Salsa Dude's future with Bea is going to turn out. It could be a redemption through death, or could be a redemption through super-super-heroic doings that help 'undo' all the bad he's done.

One thing I have a hazy memory of . . . there were some times early on in this novela when I expected Salsa Dude (whom I assumed was irredeemable) to do something worse than he did. I can't give specifics here. It's just a hazy memory. Of me expecting him to push something farther, and he doesn't. An example of that (that Madelaine reminds us of) is how it was Kendra's decision to burn down Big Angel's cozy little house, not Salsa Dude. I always thought that was a bit odd, how angry Salsa Dude was about that. Why not have it be Salsa's idea? Was it because that would have tipped him into the completely irredeemable column?

I could be wrong. It's really too soon to tell. We'll see in the next several episodes what the lay of the land is with these two.

As for Salsa's violent treatment of Kendraho, I thought of that too. Kendra is a bit violent herself, if I recall. I get the feeling that at least some of the slapping around the Kendraho was a participation sport. It was part of their relationship, unique to them. (Not that it excuses any man hitting any woman.) Not that I don't think he doesn't have a lot of redeeming to do (if it's even going to happen that way).

We'll see what they reveal to us in the next several episodes. We may have to wear our beanies to believe that someone like Salsa Dude is redeemable. I don't know how I feel about a guy who slaps around any woman (even someone like Kendra), then going on to be the perfect galán with a woman like Bea. If that's the direction this story is going (and it might be!) then we may have to fasten our beanies really tight. Or it could be that it's an ill-fated love story, with him redeeming himself through sacrifice and not getting the girl.

Interesting thing to speculate about, isn't it?

Can anyone tell me the name of the song that came up during the hotel incident with vicky and angel? Please

Anon 11:00- the name of the song that was playing when Vicky was dancing behind the screen with Angel dancing too was "He's A Dream", by Shandi Sinnamon. It in on the soundtrack for the movie "Flashdance" from 1983.

Hey y'all I just wanted to let you know the recap will be up sometime tomorrow. Good night y'all.

Thanks , Marta. I enjoyed the replay of the dancing. Next time, I'd like to see the big guy dance to Pitbull's ''Don't Stop the Party.'' Susana Gonzales [Bea] is a great dancer. Check her out on Youtube . Could Sunglasses be smitten ??? Que the hell. She would be jumping from the frying pan into the fire if she falls for that charmer. p.s. Is ''eating the crumbs '' the same as ''sloppy seconds?'' Also, I've had it with that ninny Nikki. Doesn't she realize that her stopped cycle is a serious matter resulting from the bulimia? Okkkayyy????

Does anyone watch the novela that's on before this one...Crown of Tears ? I haven't seen Ernesto LaGuardia in anything lately, but I loved him as a bad guy in Amor Real and a good guy in Alborado. I wonder if he's a bad guy or a good guy in this novela.

susanlynn - I doubt Nikki realizes that her 'pregnancy symptoms' are due to her bulimia. Another sign that her body is shutting down and trying to save itself from malnutrition and starvation.

I'm not watching crown of tears. I tuned in one time, for five minutes, and Sra Ruffo was crying her eyes out, so I kept flipping channels.

So you think Nikki thinks she is preggers? I think she's playing both her mom and Guzman and having fun. Any way the way she was laughing behind their backs.

Talk about crying. I've had it with Paula. Did she cry her eyes out when she left her son for Anibal? But now that Anibal is dumping her she is crying for her son. She deserves not having his love.

In total agreement. Now that her rich lover has kicked her to the curb, Paula is crying a river for the son she abandonned in her youth. I guess this happens in real life , too. Now that Paula is older, she wants her children...so sad..too late.

I wouldn't be surprised if Nikki was a virgin. (Wouldn't expect her to be, though.) But aren't usually the younger (early 20s) heroines always virgins? She's had these boyfriends who are pawing her and we only see her rebuff them. The Vlad guy that she uses to make Guzmancito jealous has more or less complained about that. I think she knows full well that she's not pregnant. She hasn't connected the dots and figured out that this is due to the bulimia, because of course she's in denial about that.

I don't understand, where is my comment, it seems missing..:(

In my opinion Nikki is a virgin. Yes, she had many boyfriends, but: 1. She's a young telenovela heroine. 2. She has serious body image and self-esteem issues. I highly doubt that she ever let anyone close to her.

Irisz: hey, welcome here! :)
I recommend everyone to use a google account, it makes commenting much easier.

Susanlynn,
If you check back here, yes I am watching crown of tears.
Really, really enjoying Ernesto LaG as a super bad manipulative cold cruel rich guy.
You might want to check it out!
Clara

Thanks, Clara. I will be sure to check out Ernesto even though I prefer him playing a good guy [which seems like typecasting to me].

Susanlynn,
I had wondered what Eernesto's usual role was with only the dimmest recollection of Amor Real. I have been blown away by his character! At the risk of exposing myself to ridicule I'll say I really like Corona de Lagrimas and its theme of social class conflict [possibly due to the early time slot when I am more alert.] I think Caray rejected it as a downer. Yep, there's a lot of Victoria weeping, but sometimes it makes me chuckle and hey, it's an opportunity to hit the Bailey's! Anyway, I recommend it, especially if you like Ernesto.

Damn, my earlier comment was eaten up by the blog, try to type it in again

So, great recap Marta, I love all the witty remarks by you guys, kudos for all

the beginning of the episode I almost fell off the chair, it was rather a laugh in anguish than a real funny laugh, that sceen was just embarassing..I was holding my head wondering shall I cry or shall I laugh and finally laughed my @ss off.

loved the Bea-Salsero scenes though, I hope they get together, - can't wait how they gonna meet again - , they surely look good together and Bea needs a protector she can lean on and trust, maybe Sals. will redeem himself through love and hopefully beats up scumbag Leo in the process a couple of times.

I like the actor who plays Sals. and he played a great good guy in Abismo.

I wonder how they gonna play this pregnancy thing, I hope Vic. doesn't jump to conclusions without checking out the truth factor..considering that this is not much chance of it, but let's hope for the best

iris,
welcome to the group!
btw, the guy playing Salsero, Francisco Gattorno, coincidentally played a secondary good guy in Abismo, he is also the actor who played Gael's role in the earlier version of the same novela, Canaveral de Pasiones.
