Amores Verdaderos #45 Fri 1/11/13 If You Don't Know Me by Now and What Becomes of the Brokenhearted

Good Evening Ladies and Gentleman. Tonight we learn a little more about Anibal that mysterious gentleman, who for reasons we will learn this evening, has been deceiving his daughter Adriana. He seems to think he had the best of reasons, but he should have thought about the pithy saying by Sir Walter Scott: Oh, what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive. We in Viewerville, must pull up our pants, as he, er, um, is shoveling his dung at us, so to speak, so we don't walk in the muck. Then we have our always patient, understanding Cris, not!, at least when it comes to her husband. You'll see as you read the recap exactly what I am talking about. Then we have our tragic Adriana. She is on a mission to find out what she can about her beautiful bebe, Lucia, who either died or was stolen from her. Even she doesn't know for sure, but she is determined to find out the truth. Speaking of truth, we have wonderful Tomi, falling on her sword, for her employer/friend Ms Vikki. We should all be so lucky to have as wonderful a friend as she. Finally, we have the spoiled, princess, er, brat, Nikki who has been forced into exile to "find" herself. Will she be successful? We in Viewerville are not holding our collective breaths. So, Ladies and Gentleman, come take this journey with your humble recapper to learn more about what went on in our TN last night.

So we start this evening with the Angel and his oh, so understanding wife, not, Chris in the kitchen. She is witching at him as usual about following, er, being led around by the nose, by his employer Ms Vikki. Cris seems to think that if Ms Vikki told him to get in the shower with her, the Angel would comply, even going so far as to accuse our Angel of doing "immoral" things with Ms Vikki, in said shower. Well, the Angel has had enough! As he is about to tell Cris what she is saying is way stoopid, Ms Vikki comes in and tells Cris to Stop It!!!! As we in Viewerville take our sips of Baileys, with or without hot chocolate that is optional doncha know, Ms Vikki has come in to set Cris straight, with Tomi at her right flank. Cris has the first word, bout how she just opened her mouth and inserted her foot, er, just spoke what was on her mind, and she doesn't like the fact that the Angel went on this "trip" with Ms Vikki. The Angel tries to intervene in his peace loving way, but Ms Vikki cuts him off and lays some truth on Cris. We in Viewerville are holding our breath or rolling our eyes, it's your choice really!!!! Ms Vikki understands that Cris is a tad upset, ya think, but she is here to remind Cris, that she, that would be Ms Vikki, is a married lady, who respects her hubby, that would be Nil-son of whom we have no respect, and that her relationship is strictly professional with the Angel. Cris kinda gets it and then Ms Vikki tells her something Ms Vikki's Mama Pilar used to say that Ms Vikki would tell a sister or a friend: Hearts in doubt never rest. The Angel thinks these are beautiful words and Cris ought to think about them. Cris says she will. And now the Angel wants to know when he and Ms Vikki are goin', well not so much. Ms Vikki wants the Angel to have a little rest, and Dances is going with Ms Vikki. Even Cris agrees that the Angel should rest. So the Angel goes off and Tomi comes in. Tomi is impressed that Cris cleaned the stove and did the dishes. But now Tomi is in a pickle cause she needs to find someone to replace Jean Marie, since he is under the hangover, er, weather, so to speak. Cris volunteers to stay, really, she doesn't mind. Tomi is ok with that. Then Tomi has a semi panic attack, cause Don Anibal wanted some coffee so Cris is gonna take that to him, and the phone rings, Tomi gets that, and she orders some roast beef, blah, blah and then she goes.

Next we have the exiled Nikki, in the car with Guzmi, she is asleep, and doesn't she look so innocent, like a little angel I must say. Anyway, Guzmi of course, is driving and thinks that she is one naughty lil gal, and what a bad joke she played on him, that has him on pins and needles, the rack in other words, and has since the day he met her and that's why he is so in lurrrrvvvee with her. Oh, boy! Has he got it bad, and that ain't good, jus' sayin'. Anyhoo, they flash a sign and at this point they are 5km from the hacienda.

So back to Cris and she has taken the cafecito to Don Anibal in the library, it looks like. She will join him, if he doesn't mind, and he welcomes her company. She made his coffee just the way he likes it with three sugars, and coinkydinky she likes her coffee like that too, Ruh Roh, blood will tell, jus' sayin', or the apple don't fall far from the tree, or insert your favorite pithy sayin'. Anyhoo, she says they have something in common, you bet they do. She wants to know why Don Anibal won't call her, and who would that be, he wants to know. Why PauWhiner of course, that's who. Of course he hasn't and now Cris wants to know why he is being so stubborn, pot meet kettle, jus' sayin'. She is so sad, Pau Whiner that is, did it for luuurrrvve, and he knows that, of course he does, but now she asks him if he has ever done anything crazy for love, nah, not so much. Cris thinks that's why Don Anibal is sooo allaloonne!

Now we have Adriana, in her old room at the hacienda, picking up a dolly and holding it, like a real baby. Adriana thinks about what happened in the past when her heart was broken by her Bad Dad, Don Anibal. He brought her to this hacienda, to hide her from polite society while she had her bastardo of a bebe. From this voice of the past, I am reminded of something Aribeth says from time to time about Don Anibal, he seems to be channeling Rodrigo Montes de Loco, jus' sayin'. Almost the same speech too. No bastardo shall muddy our family name or fortune, well, you get the drift. Well, he wanted her to stay here until the birth, and poor Adriana was being locked up, just for that. Thank goodness it wasn't like Maria del Rosario, jus' sayin.

So now outside, we have Guzmancito, that looks like the proverbial pack mule, carrying Nikki's bags, while she walks around the rim of the fountain, and here is Fortuno and Jovita to greet her. Are they ever shocked!!! What to do since Adriana is upstairs with her heartbreaking memories. Nikki is so impolite to them, okay, okay, downright rude, and tells them she needn't call before she comes there, cause after all, it is her house! They will prepare for her sudden appearance and Fortuno goes to relieve poor Guzmancito of those bags, but Guzmancito can haul those bag, no problemo. And Ms Rudey Patooty, will take her parent's room por favor, and Guzmi will be in the room next door. Got that Okay!!!! Now she tells Guzmi excuse me, excuse me, and Fortuno says go on, and Rudey Patooty, tells him to be quick about it! Now Fortuno and Jovita are alone, and in a panic. What to do about Adriana. Why didn't they tell her that Nikki had arrived? Fortuno reminds Jovita they can't open their closed vaults cause if they do, they could be fired!!!! Que Problemo!!

Now we have Bea, or as Lili calls her, Betty, in the copy room of Meta Imagen wanting some copies. So the copy guy is making them for her, when behind her, we see Senor Light On His Feet, Dances, jus' dancing away, con sunglasses, singing that song that he and Betty danced to, ya know Abrazame, Besame, and Betty is like Que Que What? We'll get back to this.

Now we have Guillo at school with his friend Alvarito. Guillo tells him when he is with his Mama he misses his Papi, and when he is with Papi, misses Mama. His little friend thinks that strange. Guillo says not so strange, after all Mama is not mad at Papa anymore, and maybe they will be friends again. Note to Guillo, I wouldn't count on that little one.

Anyhoo, we are back at Meta Imagen and Bea has followed that singing, dancing man around the corner just to see who that is, singing that song. Well, Dances has turned around and sees her too, and quelle surprise for both of them! They look so happy to see each other. Well, Dances wants to know what she is doing at Meta Imagen. Well, Betty works here she says. Well Dances says what a coinkydink, I do too, well not coinkydink, but he is thinkin' it. He is head of security here at Meta Imagen, doncha know. They are surprised to see each other, but Dances is especially pleased she works at Meta Imagen. Yesterday, he wanted to go back to that club to see if she was there, but was unable to, we in Viewerville all know why. But she left without telling him her name. So she says her name, says her name, shout out to Destiny's Child, and tells him her name is Beatriz, if you please.

So now we are back at the Balvanera Manse, in the kitchen and poor Jean Marie with that awful liquer still in his system, is so still not doing well. Cris is wanting to make him some spicy chilaquiles and a nice cup of coffee, to cure that horrible hangover. (Ed Note: I've heard that spicy chilaquiles will cure a hangover as well as morning sickness, who knew) Anyhoo, Jean Marie tells her no, and he looks like he wants to hurl. I love his fetching little outfit, the cute jammies, including nightcap. So Polita has come in with a mop bucket, mop and broom and she too looks at Jean Marie. She wants to know when he is gettin' back to work, cause her load is heavy what with cleaning she will have to cook too. Well, Jean Marie says he can't cook, that French liqueur was heavy and he is so not feelin good, and besides that he is dizzy, he is retching and shivering too! So Cris and Polita tell him he is green, I tell you green. He feels he is gonna die. They want him to go get some rest. Cris volunteers to cook and Polita is so happy, she shoves Cris like Elaine Benes in Seinfeld, except she isn't yelling get out! Polita tells Jean Marie to go to his room before he faints and he goes. Tomi comes in and wants to know why Cris is still there. She explains to Tomi, Jean Marie is still ill and she will do the cooking and what would they like? Well, Tomi tells her just cook what you want and goes with her laundry basket. So Cris is like whatever? Hmmm, she could make a beef stock with veggies, some chicken in guajillo sauce and she hopes they arent' picky eaters. Lol.

Ok, so now we are back at Meta Imagen, and Ms Vikki has come to talk to her Papa Anibal. Seems she is worried about her sister, Adriana. She's tried her cell, no answer so Anibal tells her she is probably working somewhere in the world, but Ms Vikki says she called the super of her building in Paris, the flat is all locked up and the super said she is not coming back to Paris. Anibal thinks she may have moved to another country, but Ms Vikki is worried something has happened to her. Anibal reminds her Adriana is an adult and can take care of herself. Well, that's the point Ms Vikki tells Anibal, she is always taking care of herself, defending herself. So Anibal takes offense and says defending herself, like he never stood up for Adriana? Ms Vikki is feeling guilty for never defending Adriana in the past, and Anibal wants to know from whom? Well, you Daddy-O of course!

So back to the Hacienda Balvanera with Adriana looking at a picture of Ms Vikki and she when they were young, and Adriana is thinking to herself she is sorry she didn't call her sissy Vikki, but she is on a mission so to speak and Vikki will understand. When in walks, wait for it, Guzmi of course. She jumps up and he asks who she is? Does she speak Spanish? lol. Adriana is very quick on her feet and says Guzmi startled her and that she is Fortuno and Jovita's granddaughter, the oldest one, ya know? And now Guzmi wants to know what she is doing in this particular room? Well, seems she is seperating from her husband, her "grandparents" put her up and she only came in here to bring these flowers, the vase of them are on the table. Well now she wants to know who he is and he introduces himself as Francisco Guzman, bodyguard to Nicole Brizz and that they have just arrived. Adriana begs him not to tell Nikki she is there, her "granparents" could be fired, doncha know. When speak of the devil, here is Nikki in the hallway calling Guzmi, where are you? Well, Guzmi goes out of the room and closes the door. Nikki wants to go to the pool and will he go with and by the by, why were you in that room. Just doing rounds he says. He will finish his rounds and then join her. Okay! So now Guzmi goes back into that room and Adriana thanks Frankie. He tells her she may not be so lucky next time, but not to worry, Adriana is leaving and not coming back and Frankie wishes her luck with her family problemo and goes. So as soon as Guzmi goes, Adriana starts packing up to go.

So now back to Don Anibal and Ms Vikki. They are arguing. He is sick and tired of being blamed for not defending Adriana. Adriana was such a victim and he is sick of hearing it, it is something she told Vikki and he is tired of it. Oh, yes, he protected Adriana from the gossips and the mean people, but he separated Adriana, she was so alone, and especially from the baby daddy, who Adriana loved so much. Anibal is so not down with that. The guy was a kid who ran away as soon as he found out Adriana was preggers, but of course Adriana blamed Anibal for that! Ms Vikki wants Anibal to think about Adriana for a minute, in other words, put himself in Adriana's shoes, alone, pregnant, and no family. Of course Anibal says Adriana wasn't alone, he was there with her, but Ms Vikki says, you may have been with her, but Anibal made her sad, tormented her and blamed her for tarnishing his image, Rodrigo Montes de Loco, anyone? Now Anibal can't believe that maybe Vikki thinks that Adriana's daughter died because of him? Well, Ms Vikki tells her Daddy-O he knows very well, what she is blaming him for, and maybe if Ms Vikki had been able to be with Adriana, her little baby girl may not have died.

So now back to Cris in the kitchen of the Balvanera Manse. She is making some good stuff on that stove and she is looking for the chilis and can't find them. So she wanders into the hallway, looking for the pantry. Ruh Roh, she stumbles into Ms Vikki's sanctum, sanctorium, in other words, her lil hideaway where she paints. So Cris is havin' a little look see, and says so she paints too. Like oh, please. Anyhoo, she comes down the little staircase and is looking at more paintings and thinks they are abstract art. But Ruh, Roh, there is that painting we in Viewerville already know very well. Well, Cris being way curious, like a cat, and we all know what curiousity did to the cat, anyhoo, she lifts the cover of that painting and is immediatly pithed off cause that is her husband doncha know. How did this "old woman" her words, not mine, do this? Did she do this without permission, with permission. So here comes the Angel looking for the lil wifey pooh, cause he saw her in there, and he says we gotta get outta here. If Ms Vikki knew we were in here, she would have a cow! But Cris isn't havin' that, and yanks him over to that painting and asks if that is him, it is isn't it. So Angel strikes a pose, like Vogue, and is it him? Cris is like how dare you? And he still says is it me???? We'll get back to them.

So now Adriana is leaving the Hacienda Balvanera on the sly while Nikki and Guzmi are in the pool. Jovita is not happy to see her little girl go, so soon. Well Adriana gives the excuse she got a phone call and has to go back to the city. Fortuno wants to know when he will have the pleasure of seeing her again. She doesn't know, but it was so nice to see them again. Now Adriana is going to her car, and Fortuno and Jovita are going to see her off.

Back to Angel and Cris, in Ms Vikki's little hideaway, and Cris is going to town on the Angel. That painting is so of him, it has his eyes, but especially his hair, his hair. Angel agrees the hair at least is similar. But Cris thinks it is too much, now this woman even paints him. It is too much for Cris. And Angel is mad cause this is the same argument as before. Well, saved by Tomi, who is coming in and tryin' to hustle them outta there before Ms Vikki finds out her sanctum, sanctorium has been breached so to speak. So Cris has to add her two pesos worth to say, oh yeah, she'll be mad cause she'll find out Cris knows she is painting other women's husbands, doncha know. He really can't believe she is starting in on him again, and she claims if Ms Vikki painted him naked, well then it must be because: We interrupt this never ending jealous argument with a little ditty called "If You Don't Know Me By Now", courtesy of Harold Melvin and The Blue Notes:

All the things, that we've be through

You should understand me, as I understand you

Now, baby, I know the difference between right and wrong

I ain't gonna do nothin' to break up our happy home

Oh, don't get so excited when I come home a little late at night

Cause we only act like children, when we argue, fuss and fight

If you don't know me by now, you will never, ever know me.

So back to the argument. Tomi who has been taking this all in, while pretending she is cleaning painting brushes, pops up and tells Cris to stop bad mouthin' Ms Vikki, cause in fact, Ms Vikki didn't paint it, Tomi did!!! Que Que What???? Cris isn't buying what Tomi is selling and wants to know why then is the painting in Ms Vikki's sanctum, sanctorum, and even the Angel is amazed by what Tomi has said. So Tomi says to achieve harmony she will answer Cris' questions. So Tomi tells Cris that Ms Vikki "loans" this room to Tomi so she can express herself artistically, and that she works at night, so as not to bother Ms Vikki. Well, Cris still isn't likin' it, cause now she is seeing rival # 2, Tomi. She wants to know if Tomi likes her Angel, does she, does she??? Well, Tomi says she wanted to paint him, well, come look at this painting. Oh, Tomi is goooooodddd. She says she wanted to paint him for the body electric, in other words, the harmony, the wild man, the perfect body. From an artistic point of view, doncha know. Well, Cris is soooo not down with this oh, noes, she ain't. She thinks that Tomi is insolent and is a husband stealer too, lol. Tomi says she just used his image, she stole nothing, cause of course Angel is Cris' and the painting is Tomi's. After all, Dios created the Angel, and Tomi did the painting, and then she asks their pardon for not asking permission first. But, but, he's naked as a jaybird, Tomi! Did bad Tomi make him take his clothes off, HUH??? No of course not, you see Tomi has X-ray vision, doncha know, I am laughing so hard I have to stop now. Okay, I am back, sorry bout that, anyhoo, this X-ray vision includes her view of his body and soul and besides that ain't a sin. Just before this, Angel moved behind the painting and was covering his manly bits with his hands, sort of. That's why I was really laughing. Anyhoo, Tomi tells them that art is art, and now they really gotta go, before Ms Vikki discovers them. So Cris is going up that little staircase and dragging Angel with her, wanting to know how many other women in this house have this "X-ray" vision, hmmmm???? Angel doesn't think there is any other woman with this vision, but Cris wants the Angel to think about that, and they go. Tomi, now alone is heaving one big sigh of relief and says, I think I saved Ms Vikki from another tempestuous jealousy tantrum, well not that, but she saved Ms Vikki.

Ok, now back to Hacienda Balvanera where Guzmi is outside on the grounds and runs into Fortuno. So now the questioning of Fortuno begins. Does he have a grandaughter, of course he does. She goes to secondary school and her birthday and graduation are on the same day! Guzmi says are you sure, secondary school? Of course Fortuno is sure, and if there are no more questions he has to get back to work, so he goes. Guzmi is wondering who the hell that woman was he was talking to?

Now to the cemetery not too far from the Hacienda. We see a little Guardian Angel statue, and a grave whose marker is flat on the ground, with the date of 3 May 1994 and engraved on the marble is My Angel, My Love, My Daughter. Adriana is there, she has a big bunch of beautiful white roses, and also the name on the grave is Lucia. Adriana bends down, puts the roses on the grave, and sobs her poor heart out, as if her heart were broken long ago. Which is what happens to the broken hearted who had a bebe that is now departed, we know she's got to find some kind of piece of mind, Viewerville is seeing who helps her.

Now we have Antonio, the padrino of Adriana, and Anibal, who by now is so not having a good day. They are discussing Adriana of course. Anibal is now thinking of days gone by and Antonio wants to know if maybe Anibal didn't do the right thing. Oh, don't please bother him with that, the guy was a half-wit, that left Adriana high and dry and ole Anibal wanted to save her from the embarrassment of being known to have given herself to this nit wit. Note to Antiono: Please dude, careful what you say, you don't want ole Anibal to start channeling Rodrigo Montes de Loco jus' sayin' he will even take his glasses off and give you the death ray, doncha know. Anyhoo, Antonio continues with maybe Adriana would have been just happy to raise that little bebe by herself and maybe she wouldn't have moved half way round the world. Now during this scene they keep flashing to Adriana at the cemetery, just crying her poor broken heart out. Oh, and Anibal didn't want her future to be ruined. And Antonio also points out that Adriana was never given the choice, Anibal made that for her. So now Anibal is very suspicious and thinks that Antonio has had contact with Adriana, and here comes what I warned Antonio about, Antonio is to stay away from Adriana. So Antonio kinda smooths things over, he has a guilt riddled face though, and says even if he didn't agree with Anibal maybe Lucia (the bebe) would have had a different destiny. Oh, that is the name that Adriana called her bastarda, Anibal says. See warning above. Antonio stands right up to Anibal and tells him he should never have told Adriana the bebe was dead, cause it so wasn't true, and it was an evil lie! Oh, Anibal knows but could he care less? Anyhoo, Antonio brings up the fact that Lucia would now be 17 or 18 years old. Now Antonio is sort of like on a little fishing expedition and wants to know if Anibal knows where she is perchance? Nah, not so much and he could care less. Anibal thinks he really did the right thing. Where is that cast iron skillet. Anyhoo, Antonio doesn't think that Adriana will ever forgive him, but Anibal, the royal putz that he is, says yeah wounds heal and he is sure Adriana has forgotten all about it. Cast iron skillet stat!!! The scene goes back to the cemetery where Adriana continues to sob her heart out.

So we have Guzmi and Nikki in the pool swimming, having a race, and of course Guzmi wins again. So Guzmi picks her up and dunks her a couple of times. She protests but giggles.

So now we are in the kitchen of the Balvanera Manse and Cris is still giving Angel grief about that painting. Cris could just choke Tomi, but Angel likes the painting, Tomi does a good job, well Cris is doing her version of the chicken dance, and don't tell me y'all in Viewerville haven't done it, while imitating Angel she paints well. Well, she is just being jealous again, and threatens him with a huge slotted spoon, going on about thinking of someone and painting them, especially the lips, in Cris' opinion Tomi likes the Angel and nobody is changing Cris' mind about that! Angel thought bubbles about the day he overheard Nil-son and Ms Vikki arguing over this same painting and Ms Vikki admitting to painting it. And how jealous Nil-son was. So now Angel has a big grin on his face, cause he knows darn well that Tomi has saved his buttocks, jus' sayin'.

So now Tomi is calling Ms Vikki. and tells her something terrible happened. Ms Vikki is worried that it is about Nikki, no not Nikki, Guzmi called already and said they made it to the Hacienda no problem. No, the Angel and Cris were in Ms Vikki's sanctum sanctorum and Cris saw the painting as well as the Angel. She tells Ms Vikki that Cris went on another rant and it was all Tomi's fault cause she left the door open. Oh noes from Ms Vikki, how will she get out of this one. Well, Tomi tells her, she covered for her by saying she, that is Tomi, painted that. And they believed her. Yeah, they really believe, except we know Angel knows the truth--that Ms Vikki really painted it. Relief from Ms Vikki, and what would she do without Tomi???? Ms Vikki thanks her but she has to go, she's in a meeting, but will be home as soon as it finishes.

So now we have Guzmi and Nikki outta the pool, and playing backgammon which Nikki is winning, they are even playing double. Well in order to win Guzmi has to roll double sixes, which he promptly does, and boy is Nikki pithed she lost and tosses the game board. Guzmi is a mite taken aback, cause she thinks he cheated, and just for that, she will choose another game ,OKAY?? Cause Nikki rules, doncha know. He's down with that.

Anyhoo, Ms Vikki has made it home and she hands some papers to Dances to give to Anibal and he's off and Ms Vikki goes in the house. There is sweet Lili, wiping plants and this palm she is cleaning is Agrippina and if Agrippina keeps growing these beautiful leaves, Lili will bring the plant some soil from the hills and she promises, when in come Ms Vikki. Ms Vikki is so very pleased with the job Lili has done with the plants. So Lili says you like my work? Ms Vikki doesn't like her work, she loves her work! Lili is very pleased. Lili has to go to the greenhouse, before those plants get jealous and she is off. In comes the Angel. Ms Vikki wants to know why he is out of bed? Well, the Angel is feeling much better and just to prove it, he takes off that neck brace. Ms Vikki isn't so sure he should do that, but the Angel is sure, he is feeling much better, doncha know. Ms Vikki is glad.

Ok, back to Anibal and Antonio that I kinda skipped over. They are still talking about the past, but it is Ms Vikki they will be discussing. Lucia, the secretary, has brought a little cafecito, so now on to this discussion. Anibal can't believe that his daughters would fall for such Losers!!!! But fortunately he could stop Ms Vikki from marrying an office employee, named Carlos Gonzalez. Carlos was fired and not only that, Anibal made sure he never got another job in any company in Mexico, so Rodrigo Montes de Loco, jus' sayin'. So Anibal remarks and he'd do it again, Anibal made a better choice for her the Furminator Nil-son Brizz, doncha know, and now Ms Vikki is a happy wife, successful bidness woman and caring mother. But the problem Antonio says is that Ms Vikki didn't love ole Furminator. And poor Adriana after this tragedy, became a successful photographer, sure, but closed herself off to love. But Anibal is sure she had many marriage proposals, but being a strong, obstinate, unsociable woman is probably why she never married. Where is that cast iron skillet!!!! Adriana is just like her Mama Pilar. Of course, Antonio calls him on this and tells Anibal, well it seems the girlz got all their bad traits from their Mama and all the "good" ones from their Papi. Well, Anibal thinks now that Antonio is sharp. Well Antonio feels like he should be Anibal's conscience. But nah, not so much, you see Anibal don't need no stinkin' conscience, and that haunts the memory. You see Anibal feels his conscience is clear cause it is selective, only the good memories dare invade his conscience. So Antonio has had about enough of hitching up his pants, to avoid that bull$hit that Anibal is shoveling at him, and decides to leave Anibal with all his "good" memories. And Antonio goes, and as soon as he does, Anibal has got to have a little drinky pooh.

So now back to the cemetery and Adriana is dragging the cemetery keeper to Lucia's grave and she wants him to open this grave, right now, no waiting. Well, the cemetrry keeper tells her the one in charge of these matters, is ill and only he can authorize this and he goes. Adriana cries.

So now Adriana is on the road. She is driving and putting her bluetooth device in and making a call. She is calling her hotel to make sure someone comes for the car she rents and her room is ready. So she removes the bluetooth device and looks down to shut her cell phone off, when she is struck by another car, on the passenger side. She is completely knocked out, there is blood on her head and the airbag has deployed, and here is where we end this epi.

Avances:

Vikki and Angel at the hospital and Vikki is crying.

Nikki and Guzmi looks like they have been riding horses in the rain.

Hey, Y'all here is a place for you to comment, while I work on this recap.

As I stated yesterday, Nikki's banishment to the hacienda as punishment for her actions is going to turn out as a godsend for her---several days alone with her Guzmancito---WOW!!! She looked pretty happy last night, although she is going to have to work on controling her quick temper.

Can't wait for the recap and all of the comments that follow, there was a lot going on last night.

The Balvaneras must be Mexican 1 percenters. The "secondary" hacienda property is huge! I wouldn't mind being part of the staff there, living on and enjoying the property without the stress of ownership, and occasionally having to wait on the owners when they are in residence to earn my keep. Since I myself am a 1 percenter (but on the other end of the spectrum!) it always boggles my mind trying to understand where all the money comes from to have a mansion, another mansion, multiple expensive vehicles, clothing and trips. I guess money well-invested makes more money, plus they work very hard, and they probably carry a different load of debt than I do. And I'm talking both in real life and in the novela world!

I don't like to see more lies getting told - Tomasina and the portrait in addition to the Cancun trip. I know that what was essentially innocent (although in poor judgement) at the time will look much worse in hindsight when the truth comes out.

I like how Cristina is so unpretentious. She talks to Anibal openly, with respect but not with false deference, and he is OK with it. Also, even when caught bad-mouthing Vikki, she was polite enough to admit she crossed a line, but didn't deny it or make excuses, just toned it down to a level where they could keep discussing it. Arriaga is like most people who would rather drop a difficult or embarrassing subject, even if it should be discussed.

Nikki was in nice mode, but when she turned over the game board after losing, what a turn-off. But head-over-heels Guzman barely looks upset before just lovingly shaking his head at this infantile behavior coming from a 20-year-old.

Can't wait to see what happens with them on Monday.

Tomasina definitely is a fast thinker, to come up with the cover for the JA portrait.

The hacienda keepers seemed very surprised that Nikki showed up, unannounced. Seems like Vikki should have called ahead and told them. Otherwise, how would they know to have groceries stocked, not to mention the courtesy of letting them know to expect her?
Just sayin' ...

I am sort of surprised Anibal allows Cris to talk to him the way she does. After all, she is married to 'the help'. Anibal in all his righteousness probably wouldn't take that kind of talk from Polita or JoseMarie. Beanie hat time....

Playing in the sandbox here while Madeline is hard at work.

I just gotta ask: How much longer will the writers torture us with Cristina's jealously? I am so done with it. At this point, she's acting about as "mature" as Nikki.

On a completely different subject, does anyone know where that beautiful snow-capped mountain in the background at the graveyard Adriana is visiting is located? I'm sure it's near DF but where?

Doña Gringuita - It was filmed at the resort Hacienda San Antonio
http://www.haciendadesanantonio.com/H/index.html
There is a piccie of the volcano on the site.

Absolutely beautiful Doris, but not cheap! The production crew must have had to shell out a LOT money to use the space for filming.

Thank you, Doris. I am having heart palpitations from those gorgeous photos of the resort Hacienda San Antonio...I would love to stay there even in the staff quarters asTN4ever mentions. Did stay in a beautiful hacienda next to Chichen Itza many decades ago but the Hacienda San Miguel is just gorgeous.

Thank you talented recappers as I have been lurking as usual. This tn is enjoyable and the hilarious recaps make it moreso.

GinCA

Ok, Y'all the recap is up. Sorry it took me so long, please enjoy.

Madelaine - Thank you for the recap! WHO was it in ancient literature that fell on his sword for someone? I've read the story but, really, it was, like, 118 years ago. Anyway, great recap.

Poor Guzmancito. What a masochist. We need to do a HIMYM style intervention on the poor guy.

I like how Lili calls Beatriz "Betty". Definitely a nod to BLF.

I hope Mister-"I-have-no-conscience" (ain't THAT the truth!) has a major cast iron skillet!!! moment soon. Really soon. What a turkey.

Anibal said both his daughters were attracted to losers. He needs to be looking in a mirror when he says that, because it runs in the family. Um…. Anibal…. what does he think his concubine Paula is?

I don't think Nikki is going to be figuring out her future before the next episode. What say y'all?

Oh, and who is Rodrigo Montes de Loco???? I did not watch that telenovela. :-)

Doris, I am so sorry you didn't see that novella. Rodrigo Montes de Loco was Rodrigo Montes d'Oca played by this same actor. He got rid of the son of his lover, along with Leonarda Montes de Oca, and the bastardo was the EY, also know as Juan Del Diablo in that novella and as the Angel here.

The falling upon the sword was Saul in the old Testament in 1Samuel 31:4.

Doris- sorry again the novella was Corazon Salvaje 2009

Madelaine - Well,,,, I guess Saul in the Old Testament would be 'ancient literature.' I hope I don't get struck by lightning. LOL

I didn't watch CS'09 because... well... it was Meh-jía and I could not bear to see an abomination of the CS'93 after seeing FELS to the Por Fin. (rolls eyes) Thanks, so now I'll know who RMdL is. LOL

Madelaine - great recap. Enjoyed the summary and all the detail.

I think Anibal genuinely likes Cris. Subsconsciously he's reminded of Candelaria when he's with Cris. But he's also probably indulgent with her trying to persuade him to get back with Paula because he wants to stay on her good side so she won't spill the beans to Vickie.

Angel seemed very pleased inwardly when Cris said painting that picture showed the painter really had him on her mind. He's definitely aware now that he and Vickie have mutual feelings. Plus he was disappointed when Vickie told him to rest and took DWS with her instead and so glad when she returned home he took of his neck guard.

My advice to Cris would be to take out the fab cocktail dresses, the red one and that chic green one, and hit the salsa club with Beatriz. There are too many anvils over her, so she might as well party. Better than the jealous rants that aren't helping.

I think I heard a theme song for Beatriz and DWS.

Adriana and Guzman look good together, but I guess they'll just be friends. They've got that parent-hating thing in common.

Great recap Madelaine!

Finally a Bea-Sals. meet, Sals. seemed genuinely happy to have found her, it seems I always cheer for secondary characters, - Bea-Sals. here Jime -Gabe in CS09.

I really pity Adri and hope her daughter will be found, her father really needs that cast iron skillet treatment, but seriously, not like in the Tom and Jerry where after a whack on the head they just stood up with birdies flying around their heads!

The Nikki-Guzmi scenes were sweet, why can't she be always like that, she should really drop the attitude and grow up.

JoseMarie looked ridiuolus in that nightcap, he really can't hold his liquor can't he?

Thank you for the recap, dear Madelaine! :)

Niecie:
"He's definitely aware now that he and Vickie have mutual feelings."

While I agree that seeing a painting like this should be a wake up call (that would've been logical), and I don't want to spill spoilers, but I have to say that no, they're still unaware of their feelings. They are in the deepest denial ever.

With Tomasina's probing (and even come to think of it Nikki asking about going with a bodyguard), Vickie has had countless conversations about what she feels for Angel. And Vickie's bottomline is that she has a husband, implying that's the only reason she wouldn't be with Angel.

I don't think the bottomline was that Vicky won't jump Arriaga's bones because she's already married. The bottomline was that she believes she loves Nelson so she doesn't even want to imagine doing things otherwise (episode 36) and she doesn't view Angel as a man but as a protector (episode 41).

Eyeroll-worthy denial: yes. Voluntary lie: no. She hasn't realized it yet, nor has Angel, because they prefer to bury their heads in sand and enjoy their comradeship-friendship without thinking about the future or the consequences.

Wonderful recap Mads. Many thanks amiga!

I would like to see Nicki go one full day without acting like a brat. It doesn't seem like she's capable of it. Lord help poor Guzman, because being in loe with that brat won't be easy.

Niecie- I also like Adri and Guzman together. Plus, they're the same age. They make way more sence to me than Guzman and Nicki. Oh well! The tn gods have decided who our main couples are, then so be it.

Vicki doesn't just answer that Nelson is her husband, she also says that she loves him and that she respects her vows.

Anibal really is a piece of work. He says he has no conscience, but he sure was quick to down a hard drink after Antonio left his office. It's amazing how callous he can be about destroying his daughter's life and breaking her heart by taking her child from her.

I wonder if we will eventually get to meet Adri's and Vicki's first loves? I hope they are both now very successful men.

That's "being in LOVE with that brat won't be easy."

Being in the loo with that brat won't be easy either. :P

(Okay, okay, I shouldn't make fun of Nikki's illness, and believe me, I love that little spoiled brat, but I just couldn't resist.)

LOL Aribeth! I really want Guzman to finally make Nicki, or her family, deal with her illness. Surely, he knows that this is a life or death matter. I think it falls within his duties as her bodyguard to inform her family of something she is doing to harm her own well-being. And if not a part of his job, then he should do it because he loves her (as he has admitted to himself).

They mentioned Vickie's first love by name, so my guess is he'll be showing up sometime.

Good Morning Y'all and thanks for all the great comments.

Doris~~~~CS 2009 was not a true remake of CS '93. It was actually two novellas rolled in one. The first part was basically a remake of Yo Compro Esa Mujer, even though the theme of that one ran throughout the novella and then Corazon Salvaje according more to the book. It was recapped here, CS 2009, and the recappers had a field day. Aribeth was one of the recappers for that one. I didn't discover Caray Caray until late in 2011. I wish I had known Caray Caray existed at the time, cause I would have made all kinds of comments : ) And by the way, I don't think you will be hit by lightening lol.

TN4ever- I really think that Tomi is trying to keep the peace and told that little white lie. Angel already knows who really painted that painting and knows Tomi covered for him, but you are right. If Cris ever finds out Ms Vikki painted it, the crap will hit the fan.

Dona Gringuita~~~ I agree with you about Cris. That jealousy rant is getting old. I'm surprised she isn't jealous of Bea cause she lives with them!

Doris~~~ Thanks for the link, and also about Anibal. He is a tool isn't he. His way or the highway, and Cris and Anibal, are really father and daughter but don't know it, act that way I think. He not only wants to make sure she doesn't spill the frijoles, but I think he feels drawn to her, but not in a sexual way, more like a Papi for his hija.

Neice in MD- yes, that seems to be a theme song for Bea and Dances. It is called Abrazame y Besame. I like that song along with Sin Ti that I hear in novella all the time. I too like Adri and Guzmi. They so fit together, but it seems it is to be Nikki and Guzmi.

Irisz79~~~~ So agree with you about not like Tom and Jerry. I really want him to be whacked upside the head like the game of Whack-A-Mole : ) Jean Marie is quite a character. I just love him and I really like what he wears, he is an orginal : )

Aribeth~~~ So agree with you about what you said about Ms Vikki and the Angel. They are totally clueless but eventually will figure out what is going on with them. They are almost like a mutual admiration society at the moment. I think something will trigger the attraction when they least expect it, IMOHO.

Vivi~~~~~ Thanks amiga for adding the rest of what Vikki said. So true. I don't think she would step out on Nil-son unless she is seperated from him, or gets divorced. Sure they have fantasies, that would be Angel and Vikki, but they are not acting on them. I think they are holding true to their marriage vows and take them seriously.Yeah, Anibal and that drink, he sure couldn't wait to have one after Antonio left. I think Antonio is his conscience and he rattled Anibal. I hope Anibal is riddled with guilt.

Neice in MD~~~~ Yes, they have mentioned Ms Vikki's first love twice now. Ms Vikki mentioned him once before, Carlos Gonzalez and Antonio mentioned him this episode. I hope he shows up. If he does, hopefully he is rich now in his own right and Aniballs can't touch him. It would be interesting.

Gringo~~~~ Nikki and Guzmi do look good, and I agree she should control her temper. She is like Nil-son that way I think.

(I didn't recap CS09, I just commented on it. And the recappers did a fantastic job covering a show that was exiled to a horrible timeslot. :)
By the way, I wish everyone who loves Televisa's TNs could see Yo compro esa mujer because it was a gem, a true classic like Bodas de odio, Corazón salvaje and Alondra.)

And here's an article about Lisardo Guarinos that was published on Univision's homepage in October: link
He hasn't showed up in the telenovela yet but at last I can connect the dots.

Aribeth, I do apologize, I really thought that you had recapped CS 2009. I liked the translation you did of what Juan said to Regina when he was telling her to think about not marrying Fedrico Martin del Campo : ). I have watched some of Yo Compro Esa Mujer on Youtube, but it is in Italian. I don't know if Uni ever repeated it.

Great work, Madelaine,

i was thinking that if Paula really wanted to redeem herself, why couldn't she simply write another letter to Candelaria admitting the phony letter, and let it roll from there. She still has all the trappings of the good life -- haven't seen her go job hunting yet. Perhaps she could find a job as receptionist with Odette's firm. I admit that Chris is over the top with her jealousy, but I love her character except for that, and I really like the way she speaks her mind. Many would be intimidated by the famous Vicky B., and her super rich father --- especially with living in her apartment. Another person might be dying of jealousy, but she would be afraid to say anything.

Again, I say.....Monica Sanchez is terrific.

To Dona Gringuita and others---Are you guys blind? Vickie and the Angel have been straying off the reservation so to speak, a little more each episode often to be saved by the bell. How many touching embraces have they had and how many times were they just an inch away from that first passionate kiss?
Angel is in the hospital recovering from a hit on the head while Vickie falls asleep nearly on top of him? Did you guys notice that there was a couch against the wall for people to sleep on, but she wasn't over there--no, she was practically on top of him. Why wasn't Christina notified of the injury? Why did the Angel caress Vicki when he woke up?
Just wait until Vickie finds out that the Furminator has been cheating on her---she will be in the Angel's arms in no time.
Am I the only one in Caray, Caray! land in Chris's corner? She has PLENTY to be jealous about. Watch your back Chris, you're about to loose your Angel.

There---Now I've said it. I can read the recap now.
the gringo

Cris and Anibal's relationship = la llamada de la sangre

I hope Vikki and Adriana's first loves went on to be very successful people.

Didn't Anibal say he made sure that NOBODY in Mexico would hire Vikki's first love ex-novio? I would love to see that guy come back a self-made millionaire.

Gringo,

I completely agree with you. I made that clear last weekend. I think that Cris has every right to be jealous, and while V. and A. were making up lies, V. could have made up a better one where at least Chris could have visited him in the hospital. I wish, however, that she could be more clever or dubious in channeling that jealousy so that she doesn't alienate her husband. I like the way she got made over and dressed up for him, and he really fell for that hook, line, & sinker.
Then her plans were derailed, and she was even more upset understandably. She does seem to be thwarted at every turn. Her personality by nature is rather explosive.

JA was definitely thrilled that V. had painted him, and he was obviously trying to get away from Chris the other day in the kitchen to go off with Ms V.

Gringo, I am absolutely relegated to the corner with you and Chris.

The gringo:
No, Floridia and Niecie are also in Chrissie's corner, and many of us like her, too. :)

I'm not blind, but there are two ways to interpret those little hot moments:
1. Vicky and José Ángel are perfectly aware of what they feel, which makes them emotionally unfaithful hypocrites, or
2. those scenes are exaggerated to give some bones to the audience, V+A aren't aware of either their feelings or the inappropriateness of their interactions, which makes them blind and childish.

We could argue about that for ages. I just have to defend those two overaged kids because they really mean no harm.

Thanks for this great recap of a very entertaining episode, Madelaine.

I so enjoy watching the chemistry between Frankie and Nikki. They are so pleasantly predictable in the way they interact. Who didn't smile when Guzmi rolled double six followed by Nikki's tossing the board? Did anyone predict or expect otherwise? I thought not.

Gringo, I'm inclined to agree with you. Any emotional innocence in the JA and Vikki relationship evaporated long ago. Credit to Vikki for that one last feeble attempt at stopping this runaway train. They deny it. They lie about it. They even try to control it. However, we, they, and most sadly Cris, know the inevitable.

Once again, a Baileys-free episode. I guess it would have been bad form to put in Anibal's morning coffee.

Carlos

Gringo- I think we're all with you. None of us are rooting for the breakup of the JA-Cris marriage. It's a good marriage and they are a great couple (most of the time). But the fact is that 1) Cris has not seen a fraction of the interaction between JA and Vicky that we have, meaning her jealousy rants are usually over minor things; and 2) The jealousy rants are NOT the most effective way to get across her very valid message to JA.

She also badmouths Vicky in a very bitchy way, which Vicky doesn't deserve-- like the other day when she assumed Vicky was a bad sister to Adriana just because Adriana doesn't live in Mexico. She has no reason to assume Vicky is a bitchy snob, as she often portrays her, when Vicky has been nothing but kind and respectful to her. The attraction between Vicky and JA is another matter, and has nothing to do with Vicky being some man-stealing, snobbish harpy, as Cris likes to think of her.

Vivi: I agree with you.

But I have to admit...

"None of us are rooting for the breakup of the JA-Cris marriage."

I do. Normally, in real life I wouldn't because they have a good marriage, but this is a telenovela. I enjoy Crissie's scenes because she's sooo charming, and she has great chemistry with her husband, but I find the storyline of Victoria and Arriaga storyline more interesting.

(And although this show has interesting, well written, flawed and vulnerable characters, it isn't a scientifically perfect psychological study, that's why I dare say that despite the butterfly kisses, awful paintings, giggles and almost kisses Vicky and Arriaga hasn't had an epiphany yet. In a typical telenovela the final realization, i.e. "ohmygodilovehim!!!" is usually blown into the audience's face.)

I think Ms Vicky is a bit flaky in spite of the fact that she does show great poise at times.

She's flaky because

1)She doesn't suspect that Nihil -son ever went astray.

2. She lets Nabila have the run of the house - doesn't suspect anything between N. and Nihil-son;
believes Nabila's stories. Doesn't encourage better friends for Nikki than these shallow, mindless snobs.

3. Doesn't suspect bulima.

4. Up until now, she enables Nikki
in all of her whims. I know many wealthy people who make a strong effort from the time their children are young to teach them the value of a dollar and hard work. She should have cracked down on her long ago - but alas no story for us.

4. She should have stood up to her father more - at least in the case of Adriana. Chris certainly would have done so. Maybe she has always wanted to please her father.

5. She sent Nikki off with G. for a punishment.

Other than the fact that Nikki is pretty, I don't see how G. can tolerate her - much less have love for her. He had a very bad experience with a selfish woman who abandoned him. He needs a mature woman with principles.
So far I see none in Nicky except love for her horse as I mentioned before. Everyone else she manipulates for her own selfish reasons. She is a disaster.

Enjoying all the comments.

I think Vickie and Angel are good people. Even if/when they actually confront their feelings with each other, I believe they'll want to stick with their present spouses cause they think it's the right thing to do.

But Cris deserves better than a husband who stays with her out of obligation or past commitment. She deserves a husband who puts her first and wants her first. Cris has jealous rants we all can't stand. But that's not all of who she is. She's also a mother who's raised a healthy, self-confident young woman. A hard-working wife who struggled side by side with her husband in that Little House on the Prairie ranch. And she's a good friend to Paula and Beatriz. She is not jealous of Beatriz and didn't think twice about offering help to Guzman. She is jealous of Vickie only - and behaves badly about it - because her intuition/gut and the strange things that have happened to Angel since teaming with Vickie - are telling her there's something up with these two. I don't believe in her rants that Cris really believes they're cheating but her fear and insecurity drive her to bluster. If she really really thought they we're cheating, I believe she'd break, not rant.

Angel, though not intentionally, is not putting Cris first. On their failed attempt at a date when he had to take Vickie to the convention, Cris admitted to Angel that she was jealous of Vickie because she was an attractive important businesswoman doing important things and the two of them were having all these exciting adventures while she herself was this little nothing. Angel reassured her. But that (fake) Cancun trip was a slap in Cris's face. Angel didn't even call Cris himself to tell her he's going and in effect treats her like the little by having Tomasina make the call.

I feel for Cris cause she's facing a triple whammy: Angel falling for Vickie, Lili possibly not being her bio-daughter, and Vickie being her half-sister. Goodness.

Aribeth - If/when Vickie and Angel face what's happening with them, I too would go for them breaking up with their spouses. Staying with their spouses for the noble good serves nobody. I'd much rather see Cris devastated and then rebuilding her life with some swinging single salsa club hijinks along the way.

Madelaine: What a treat this was! Your all encompassing, detailed recap was pure pleasure.

"Ruh Roh, blood will tell, jus' sayin', or the apple don't fall far from the tree, or insert your favorite pithy sayin'" was my hands down favorites. "Rudey Patooty", "Andel strikes a pose like Vogue" and your nods to Seinfeld and Harold Melvin were icing on the cake. Smooth and delicious.

So many interesting comments, especially on Angel, Cris and Vikki. At this point Angel and Vikki have acknowledged to themselves (but not each other)that the shiver of attraction is real. While I like Cris, I feel fate has stirred events and feelings neither she nor they can withstand.

I was totally wrong about Anibal. I thought he cared about his grandchild and knew where she was. I believe we knew he had also endureed Vikki lost her first true love but I guess I chose to selectively ignore that fact. His cruelty to Adriana is contemptible. Of all his daughters, only Cris seems not to be intimidated (I say that because I don't think knowing he was her father would cause her to act differently). As others have noted, she treats him the way she treats everyone else and her gumption and candor obviously do not bother Anibal. But, would he tolerate it if he knew she was his daughter?

Many wonderful comments. Madelaine, this was another fantastic recap! Thank you.

Diana

1. Would Vikki and JA really move forward with a relationship and divorce their spouses? ]
2. Even Paula did not legally divorce her husband when she went to live with Anibal, that I know of.

I know this type stuff (#1.) happens in the real world a/k/a Viewerville, but has it ever really happened in TelenovelaLand? Or would it break telenovela rules for the hero/heroine?

Given the light-hearted feel to so many of the scenes, I think all the tension will remain just that, tension, and there will be an honorable ending. Of course, my predictions never ever come true. LOL

Does anyone think that Guzman and Adriana would make a more compatible couple than Guzman & Nikki? Nikki seems much too young for Guzman.

I like Guzman and Adriana too. I don't know how the writers plan to make Nikki miraculously likeable (to me). She's spoiled, selfish and super bratty, even with her occasional flashes of sweetness. Can't understand Guzman's attraction to her. But maybe that's it - opposites attract?

And I love Cris also. I actually cringe when Vicki and Arriaga are together all googly-eyed at each other. For some reason it really bothers me. It makes them as creepy to me as Nelson and Kendra.

Thank you, Madelaine, for this delightful, funny and detailed recap.

Since I'm late to this party, I'm sure I'm not the first person to point out the Taming of the Shrew thing going on between Guzman and Nikki. But it was especially obvious on Friday when we heard him thinking, as he was driving and she dozed at his side, that perhaps it was her 'carácter indómito" that was making him fall in love with her.

Goblue, I agree that in real world terms, Guzman and Adriana (if she survives!), would make a more logical couple than Guzman and Nikki. But it's the latter two that we see in the Ralph Lauren poses in the credits so I wouldn't look in that direction except for maybe a temporary distraction.

Madelaine, Oh Madelaine! that description of the scenes in the 'studio' were hysterical! i too was laughing when Angel kept hiding behind the painting and putting his hands down and holding back his giggling... I could not help myself when he posed in front of the painting and asked Cris 'is that me really?'
Skillet moment for sure!!

i agree with all commenters that Guzmi is enabling Nikki by not spilling the beans to Vicki about her illness... and loving her 'caracter indomito' without complaining much.

Tomi (LOVe the nick!) is also enabling both Vicky (hiding her lies and helping her 'cover up' her absences) even though she did stand up to 'Rodrigo Montes de Locl' (another nick i love!)... that man has no limits... mira que pursuing poor Carlos Gonzalez to the point of making sure he could not get a job anywhere in the country, doing what he did with Adri his own daughter and his own granddaughter Lucia, and then saying he has nothing to feel guilty about... yikes! he will have much to answer for when he faces the maker...

I also think Vicky and Angel now are too far into this 'attraction' to not realize what is going on. But Angel does believe he loves Cris and knows he could lose Lilli as well if they break up, and Vicky stays firm in her faithfulnes to Nil-Son. But what happens when she learns of Nil-Son's 'adventures' might open the door for her to approach Angel in a different way, since her 'duty as a faithful wife' will be cancelled.

I too think Bea might be the 'angel from above who came to save Salsero's soul'... he might change for her sake... hopefully. I love their chemistry if nothing else.

One positive point for the production: at least we see the kids eating carrot sticks at school instead of something unhealthy.

Feeding someone 'chilaquiles bien picositos' might put a whole through their esophagus, if their system is not used to them, depending on how 'picositos'... It was funny how Jean Marie reacted when Cris and Polita said he looked 'green'. love his PJ's too. And Cris' little bolero jacket.

It was very interesting to hear more details of what happened from the convo between Anibal and Antonio, and that Antonio was never really in agreement with Anibal's decisions...

one more thing...
Vicki's advice/phrase for Cris:
el corazon sospechoso no tiene reposo (the suspecting heart has no rest)
really hit a string in me.
As the wife of a musician, you have to trust your spouse... Angel's job is not musician but he is Vicky's bodyguard and that job requires him to spend a looooong time with her. So Cris needs to suck up to it or try to trust him.
If you don't trust him you are going to torture yourself constantly with thoughts of 'the worst case scenario'...
I chose to trust... and was able to sleep at night.
Now... the trip to Cancun did allow for suspicion... but still the choice is Cristina's to trust or rattle.
Poor Adriana... i have three daughters of my own... and it hurts to just watch her suffer.
Natalia Esperon is a great actress, did not remember much of her from Agujetas since i did not watch that, but she is showing her chops here.

Anibal must have some interesting requirements for a son in law if Nil-Son was the 'best available candidate' at the time he was trying to get Vicky married... Yikes! namely 'loser with money/surname'.

does anyone remember the 'chilaquiles bien picositos' scene at the ending of LHDM (Colombia ending)? personally i would have chosen to go to the most expensive restaurant in MC or fly to Paris for dinner in the family jet.

speaking of LHDM... previews of novelas for 2013 for Univision include both 'cuando manda el amor'
(Blanca Soto/Fer Colunga) and 'que bonito amor' (Mex version of LHDM with Danna Garcia, Jorge Salinas / Pablo Montero / Arturo Peniche)

I loved reading this post and all the comments that followed. I just can't see how this will wrap up with all the twists. Paula sure has some vital information, if she ever decides to share it with the right people.

On another note, I'm totally hooked on Baley's French creme liquor, anyone else? Victoria drinks it all the time. I also tried looking for the French liquor that Odette gave Jean Marie a last week but can't find it anywhere. The label said "Esurtrach" it was a green bottle with an E on the front lable. Anyone know where I can find this liquor. According to Jean Marie, it was delicious, hahaha.

Good Evening Y'all and thanks for all the great added comments.

Marta~~~ thanks about the Chiliquiles, lol. I heard a pregnant chef talk about them once, and she said they were the only things to cure her morning sickness.

Interesting discussion y'all about Cris, while I don't hate her, I do like her very much, I don't like the attacks of jealousy with Vikki and Tomi now of all people. I think Vivi summed it up best along with Aribeth. I do like Gringo and Carlos' views though. I like the male point of view here :)

Floridia~~~ I liked your analysis too.

Niece in MD~~~ Liked your analysis too.

Diana~~~~ Yeah, I was liking Don Anibal until now. Now that I know what he is really like, I can't stand him. What a putz. Antonio though, I really like. What a nice gentleman, and he acts more like a Papa toward Adri than her own Papa does!!!

NovelaMaven~~~ So true about the Taming of the Shrew, Nikki certainly is a shrew. Maybe Guzmi can tame her and maybe help her grow up a little bit. She sure needs some good life lessons and a friend right now. And someone who will deal with her bulimia issues.

GoBlue~~~ I think Adri and Guzmi would be better too. I really don't think Guzmi is too old for Nikki, just more mature.

Marta~~~~ Also liked what you said about Cris. She is driving herself crazy. I don't think she has enough to do, in other words too much time on her hands. She ought to find something she loves to do and then do it. I couldn't stand the way she thought Tomi had something goin' on with the Angel, yeah fantasties but not the real thing. Cris needs to get a grip. I like her otherwise. What you said about trust I totally agree with. If you have no trust, ya got nothin'

Maria@BubblegumandDucttape~~~~ Welcome to this TN. Come back and comment again. That alcohol is a word play I am sorry to say. I looked it up and guess what? It is a play on Eurotrash, lol. I think they made up this name, the writers, cause the main sponsor is Baileys. I think most of us like Baileys on this particular TN, lol. Thanks so much for joining us.

Well that explains it, thanks Madelaine for doing the research. Baley's is from Ireland, so I can see why they would poke fun at French liquor, hehehe, sneaky those writers.
