Amores Verdaderos #56 Mon 1/28/13 The Call of Blood… or Something Like That

* Victoria tells Adriana about Furry Casanova’s cheating. Adri freaks out as her memories from her childhood surface: oh please, this can’t be happening to Victoria, the strongest pillar of the Balvanera family, she wasn’t born to repeat the sad story of their mother.

* Nikki, who’s world turned upside down last week, pulls a total Adela Noriega in this episode, she cries and/or she’s depressed in every single scene of hers. So when Blondie tries to ask her if she wants to go out in the afternoon, she explodes and sends the surprised guy to hell. He’s a lustful animal, a cheater, a liar just like her father, she hates him, she hates him, she hates him! Guzmán’s totally shocked by her raw pain and emotions, and he says he really cares about her and there’s nothing between him and Polita, but she isn’t interested in his side of the story.

* Odiodette calls Jean Marie, calls him her friend, and invites him for a cup of coffee in her office. While Juan María is over the moon, Polita expresses her indignation over the Witch’s shenanigans, and states that JM will get into a big a trouble.

* Another busy day at the hall of Meta Imagen: while Beatriz is doing the usual receptionist stuff, Salsa Dude is sitting on a couch and enjoying the sight through his beloved sunglasses, as usual. Kendra shows up in the hall looking for Nelson. She joins Salsero and they insult each other, as usual. (oh, you still try to become Mrs. Brizz, don’t you – oh you have a new toy, don’t you). In the meantime poor Betty gets a phonecall from her creepy stalker pig of a husband: hey, Beatriz, you won’t get rid of me that easily. Then Daddy Gambler arrives at the agency, and when Aníbal overhears that the dashing old rascal is Bea’s father, he becomes extremely friendly and introduces himself to Felipe.

* In Nelson’s office the Furminator and Kendho continue their petty little games: oh, I love you, my Teddy Bear – whatever, we must maintain a professional relationship in front of Aníbal and Victoria, understood? Tomorrow they’ll start a huge new campaign.

* At the Balvanera’s Nikki keeps on crying about her parents in her room, while the adohhhrable Guzmi, who knows exactly how she feels, tries to console her. He swears he’ll never, ever betray her trust, and then they hug each other. More crying.

* Kendra actually has the nerve to offer her help to Casanova: look, she and Vicky are on good terms, she can convince her to forgive him. Because his happiness is the most important thing for her. *Viewerville: we’ll vomit* Nelson and his little furry Nelson are impressed by her selflessness.

* Cris finally swallows her pride and goes back to the Balvanera’s where she and José Ángel have a beautiful and touching reconciliation scene. She apologizes to Angel (no, there’s no need to apologize, woman – no, I have to! – no, you don’t, if I had been in your position, I would’ve died of jealousy, too – I love you – I love you, too), makes amends with Victoria (another lovely moment), and everyone loves everyone… Until Adriana shows up on the scene. Angel and Cristina are pleased to meet the nice lady, but when they introduce her to Liliana, they get the most intense “Call of Blood” scene EVER. The teary-eyed Adriana and Lili speechlessly stare at each other for minutes and they freak everyone out a little bit. Cristina and Arriaga tell the crying girl that they won’t separate and everything will be all right, but she just keeps on weeping. Liliana doesn’t know what’s happening to her, she just has that strange premonition feeling in her stomach, like when the Big Angel was in danger, and she feels like she’s known Adri her whole life. They hug each other tightly.

* At Meta Imagen Aníbal asks Hilda to find out which one is the best private detective agency because he wants to find a person. Oh Candelaria, love of my life, what art thou doing nowadays?

* Adriana and Liliana are still crying. This is getting old, and that’s precisely what Cristina’s thinking too, because she asks Lili not to bother the lady, and then leads her to the kitchen. While the Arriagas assure Lili that they love her much, in the living room the Balvanera sisters are discussing what happened. Adriana is intrigued by the young girl, but anyway, there’s something she has to tell Victoria… *drumrolls* Aníbal has been lying to them all this time because her baby didn’t die!

* Nikki decides to take a walk on the fresh air, and she tries to brush Guzmán off by running away from him. Then she imagines Nelson having sex with his mistress, and she’s so horrified by it that she crosses the road without looking around… and of course she almost ends up dead. Frankie hugs the sobbing girl who keeps saying that she’s scared, so scared.

* Adriana can’t tell Vicky more… Not yet. First she has to exhume Lucía’s remains. Victoria is shocked at the news but she supports her sister: she understands that Adri needs to find out what happened to her child. However, Adriana still can’t stomach that Aníbal and Victoria are on good terms, and when he finds out that her father lives in the hacienda, she explodes: soon everyone will find out what a perverse evil old man he is, and it’s high time for Victoria to accept the facts.

* At Meta Imagen Hilda and Aníbal talk about Beatriz, who’s a very capable and efficient employee. Hilda informs him that she’s Frankie’s sister.

* Nikki are Guzmi are sitting in a breathtaking park and they are having a deep conversation about their parents and her fears. Francisco is really worried about her health and he tries to convince her that she should get her serious eating disorder treated. He pulls a bunch of empty chocolate (?) wrapping papers out of his pocket and says he found them under her bed. Now please, trust him and tell him how her bulimia started.

* In the home office Victoria calls a business partner of hers (or a photographer? a director?) and they talk about the advertisement they are going to shoot next day with Kendra. Big Angel enters the room and apologizes for Liliana’s behavior. There’s no need for that, says Vicky, and she’s notices that Arriaga looks much calmer. Yes, he feels very calm and happy now that he and Cristina settled their differences. Maybe Victoria should have a talk with Nelson, too. Vicky explodes: come on, Arriaga, their situations are very different! He had a misunderstanding with his wife, but they love and respect each other. But her marriage with Nelson is beyond repair, she can never trust him again.

* And finally Nikki pours her heart out to Francisco: one day she wanted to be in a commercial, but when she was in the dressing room, she overheard the other models who were talking about her. They said she was too fat to be a model and she only got that job because her mother was the owner of the agency. Nikki was devastated and decided to become skinnier than those girls. And one day a friend of hers told her that she didn’t have to deprive herself of anything, all she had to do was to throw up after every meal. She tried it out and she felt relieved and clean… because food is like a poison for her that intoxicates her body. And she’s afraid of other people, she’s afraid that nobody likes her, and even her boyfriends are only interested in her money. And no, Guzmán isn’t different from them, he’s with her only because that’s his job. Frankie objects, but Nikki wants to know why he puts up with her whims. How about Polita and the night he spent with her? Guzmán swears that he and Polita are only friends, and he loves Nikki. Truly, really, completely. He almost kisses her. You don’t love me, says Nikki with contempt, if you love me, why don’t you kiss me? Because it’s not right, says the guy while he’s struggling with his feelings. Nikki keeps on crying: please, stop with this bullsh*t, when you really love someone, nothing matters, okay? Admit it that you don't love me, neta equis dammit whatever, I don’t care... And this is the moment when Frankie plants a very-super-neta passionate kiss on her lips. Whoa. It’s getting hot in the room.

Aribeth: Can't wait for your always fab recap. This was one emotional epi, for sure.

What a doozy. Can't wait for the recap.

Oh Aribeth, what an episode you had!!

And, of course, your picture captured the heart and soul of the most emotional element of last night - the long awaited meeting of Adriana and Lili. You set the stage perfectly, cannot wait to "hear" what you have to say.

My heart went out to Cris. The poor woman barely had time to enjoy her reconciliation with Angel. Then, without any warning she is thrust into witnessing the inexplicable, raw, emotional, confusing and tear laden meeting of Lili and Adri. The blood was indeed roaring, coarsing through the veins last night! Sherlyn was amazing, she was totally believable and seemed so very real. I was sitting on the edge of my seat, in tears myself drawn in by her pain, her yearing, her understanding.

Diana

That was the most dramatic call of the blood moment I have EVER seen in a tn. My goodness! They really wanted to hit us over the head with it. But it makes sense for two characters (Lili and Adri) who are so sensitive to emotions. Poor Cris now has two things to be jealous about-- JA being drawn to Vicky, and Lili being drawn to Adri. I think she's fighting a losing battle.

My heart went out to Cris too. Don't blame her for wanting to console Lili herself instead of her hugging and crying with a woman she just met. They are really piling it on Cris.

I too was moved by the acting of Sherlyn and Monica Sanchez last night. Monica has come a long way from her little character of 'Rosa' in Corazon Salvaje '93 with Lalo Palomo at the bar. She played the young waitress Juan was tempted to be unfaithful to Monica with.
Then she played the dying wife in Salome. a very complex character, even though you were rooting for Julio and Salome together, you could not help but root for the dying wife too, since she was being so understanding with him.

That call of the blood was very powerful and there certainly are now a low of questions that we need to have answered.

I was very fascinated and affected when Nikki opened up to Frankie about her bulemia. I think she showed much more insight into her problem than any of us ever imagined and yet at the same time revealed what a sense of entitlement she has by saying that she'd just like to buy a forest to hide away from the world in. Now that's our Nikki.

Carlos

Good one, Carlos. so true, Nikki certainly was a Nikki, she also told him to 'save' his advice to buy some thing for someone else or stte. Frankie must have a HUGE fuse and toleration for so much immaturity being thrown at him. But he can identify with her, i saw him swallow hard when she asked him if he knew what it felt like having someone you love very much suddenly fall hard off the pedestal you had them on (his mom, her dad).

Strange that Nikki had an image of her father getting it on with the redhead. I don't think it's typical for a daughter to conjure up such a visual of her father cheating. Wondering if this was a flashback of a suppressed memory, since Nelson has been cheating for years.

Good point, Niecie, i would not be surprised if there is more to it than Nikki told Gorilita last night. And that it has to do with either her dad or granddad.

NieceinMD and Marta~~~~ The reason Nikki had such a vivid picture of her Fornicator Papi cheating is cause she overheard her Mama Vikki tell Furry Fornicator she won't soon forget him boinking a red head in his office and would never forgive him. Since Nikki heard all this, I think that is why she had such a vivid image.

Madelaine - Good point. I was also puzzled because the redhead's body looked like Nabila's to me. But maybe Nikki conjured a random thin body.

Indeed the "call of the blood" was very powerful in this episode. I thought is was riviting. So now one has to wonder the following: Was Cris in the same hospital/clinica as Adri? Did they have their babies at the same time and did Cris/Angel's baby die and Anyballs pay someone to switch the babies? He still has no idea Cris is his daughter with Candelaria, so if he did the baby switch, Lili is still his unknown nieta. Have there been any scenes with Lili/Anyballs? If there were, was there any hint of the "call of the blood"?
I also wonder when Candelaria will show up now that Cris/Angel have made up.
SFChicaBonita

Poor Cris. Just starting to get a grip again, maybe believing her husband is still loyal, and now she sees her daughter instantly having an intense emotional bond with a stranger. And we know things are only going to get more difficult for her when she finds out even more stuff.

Nikki's and Guzmancito's trainwreck of a relationship is so absurd, it is riveting to me. I think they are both at fault for the dysfunction. Nikki plays her childish hot and cold game, but she does occasionally mention her real concerns, and Guzmi never gives her a straight answer. She brings up Polita, and he says he doesn't feel nearly the same way about Polita, he only lurves Nikki...well, okay, but that still leaves the question of what she was doing sleeping in your bed and why you let her kiss you. Nikki snarks about his maybe-wife, and he never says what the situation there is. Widowed? Divorced? She ran off with her tennis instructor but they've never done the paperwork to end it? He hates her, but she was in an accident and is in a vegetative state and he'd look like a jerk if he divorced her now? WHAT?! Just say, Guzmi! But the way their fights always end with smooching, maybe they just like this dynamic.

Did anything about Cris's reaction to the call of the blood suggest to anyone that she is complicit in a baby-switch? Maybe it was just her well-worn jealousy acting up, but she seemed alarmed and kind of ... fearful.
Old news, but it's been driving me nuts that Tomasina told Vikki that Nikki wasn't getting her period, so when the pregnancy thing fell apart, why didn't anyone investigate what's up with that?? I want the bulimia secret out.
Clara

Clara - Did anything about Cris's reaction to the call of the blood suggest to anyone that she is complicit in a baby-switch? Maybe it was just her well-worn jealousy acting up, but she seemed alarmed and kind of ... fearful.

I was going to say the same thing!!
She looked so guilty and fearful at moments, could it be she knows who is Adri to Lili or just a coincidence?!

Clara- Following up on loose ends is not a strong suit of this tn or its characters. There are multiple things we should see characters pursuing and checking up on:
- Vicky and Tomasina figuring out why Nicki hasn't had her period.
- Guzman following up on getting Nicki help for her eating disorder, or telling someone about it as he threatened.
- Cris and Lili helping Bea with her supposed eating disorder, or wondering why the heck Guzman said she had one.
- Nicki getting Guzman's employee records to find out if it lists him as married.
- Anibal, Nelson and Vicky figuring out who the heck tried to have her kidnapped, TWICE! They seem to think it's separate from the Nicki kidnapping.
- JA getting to the bottom of who burned his house and why. When Vicky got him released from jail, he swore it would be his reason for existing-- finding the bastards. He kind of gave up easily.
- JA and Vicky finding out who set them up with the hotel/blackmail trick.
- JA and Vicky finding out who locked them up in the elevator and then attacked JA in that restaurant. They suspect Odette, but never really followed up.
- Lili enrolling in university as she said she was going to do.
- Lili and Vicky getting ready for that swim competition.

Oh, and Vicky and Nicki following up on Nicki's plan for her life.

That's Lili and Nicky (not Vicky) getting ready for that swim competition.

Guzmi should also follow up on his need for more cardio training. He was all out of breath chasing flimsy underfed Nikki. Apparently he only lifts weights to look decorative and isn't actually fit. That's got to be against the Bodyguard Code.

Clara - IHMHO, Cris has shown no tendency for deception. She was even antsy about not telling Angel about Paula and Anibal. Cris said that she got very ill when she gave birth. Sounds like she was really out of it, when whatever happened happened. She was only 18-19 and in no position healthwise, powerwise, or moneywise to have babies switched. I think her reaction to Lili's "call of the blood" was feeling left out because her daughter was drawn to another woman with this intense sadness and not to her.

Makes me wonder if JA/Cris' baby died, did Anibal at least have the decency to give the infant a proper burial.

Niecie- ITA about Cris. Not her style.

As for he baby, I wonder if Anibal had the dead baby buried in place of his grandchild. Will Adri find anything in the tomb? If he didn't, what happened to the body of JA/Cris's baby. If he did, will Adri want to have DNA tests done to confirm if it's hers? Would there even be enough DNA material in a tiny corpse like that to do a test?

I'm not doing well keeping up with this one 'cause it's not very good. Isn't Lili Adriana's niece?Cris is Vicky's half sister, at least that's what we suspect right now, right?

Could it be, when Adri makes sb. dig up "her daughter's" tomb JA and Cris's baby is in it instead of being empty?

Julia - Guzmancito "all out of breath chasing flimsy underfed Nikki?" lol!!!

Irisz79, glad you saw Cris's fear and guilt too! Niecie, I guess we'll see when the grave is opened up. I'm assuming JA/Chris baby is in there, and yes, I think enough DNA would be present. I'm not suggesting that Cris was the mastermind of it -- Anibal was -- just that she was aware or suspicious somehow. Feeling left out I can understand, and there was that one part of the scene where she pulled Lili over to her, but her expressions seemed beyond that. As has been mentioned, Sanchez is a good actress, so it puzzled me.
Vivi, you pulled together a great mass of loose ends!! We may bever see that swim competition. Guess it doesn't pay to overthink this one, they just roll from one adventure to the next.
Clara

Oh Julia!
He hates her, but she was in an accident and is in a vegetative state and he'd look like a jerk if he divorced her now? WHAT?! Just say, Guzmi! But the way their fights always end with smooching, maybe they just like this dynamic.

where have you been? i had missed your sense of humor so much since CME and ElTal! good one!

Add me to the rave review list---last night was a real winner. I agree with the Adriana and Lili comments, very touching and great acting when they met for the first time.

Are the writers trying to get rid of Cris? How much more can this women take? First trouble with her Big Angel and now It looks like she is about to loose the Little Orchid whom she believed all along was her daughter. Her family is crumbling down around her. Are the writers setting her up for the asylum to get get her out of the way so that Ja can run away with Victoria?
My heart bleeds for her and I think of how many were so quick to jump off Ship Christina when it started sinking.

Aribeth---you got a super episode last night and I know that your recap will be super also---two great pictures to start out with.

The music theme of the last episode was a big surprise. So many great songs and great singers were listed.

Florida---Jose Jose was a treat. It's wonderful to be young, handsome and talented. Over time, young and handsome fade away but talent still remains.

I'm surprised that Luis Miguel wasn't mentioned. At the company where I used to work, the people loved him. I didn't know him at the time but could recognize a great voice with great style.

Can't wait to find out what Nikki said when she poured out her heart to Guzman last night---last night was a BIG night in more ways than one.
the gringo

gringo,

I'm afraid there's a word that comes up from time to time here at Caray Caray that seems to apply more and more each day to our Cristina:

INCONVENIENT

Unfortunately, it comes with a rather bad prognosis.

Sorry.

Carlos

Vivi, great list indeed.
Clara,
Guess it doesn't pay to overthink this one, they just roll from one adventure to the next.
lol!! yeah, like Julia pointing out Guzmancito's lack of 'fitness' running after undefed Nikki.. LOL Julia!

I agree that Cristina has not done much to deserve watching the world she once knew crumble around her... but she has not gained many points in TRUST either. I agree that her future does not look that bright/happy ... maybe after all the secrets are out she will find her way again, but for now certainly she is sitting at the early stage of a roller coaster.

Recap is up.

Imho there's no way that Cristina knew about the baby switch. She wouldn't have agreed to that.

Carlos, may I join the Official Nikki Neta Equis Fanclub? She's my favourite spoiled little brat, and Eiza is so cute.

I'd like to join the fanclub, too. I think Nikki is hilarious.

I think Guzmi should be giving her self-defense martial arts lessons. She shouldn't be relying on just him to protect her, she enjoys exercising and groping and punching him so it would be fun for her, and someday I'd REALLY like to see tiny dainty-looking Nikki shock the heck out of some big thugs by taking them down like it ain't nothin' when they try to assault or kidnap her.

As for Cristina: yes, the sad fact that is that her existence is inconvenient. Blame it on the (original) writers.

Before Cris's Corner starts roaring at me :) - don't get me wrong, she definitely doesn't deserve what's happening to her. But the Arriaga/Victoria relationship is written in a very intriguing way. So I wish no harm to Cristina, but it'd be nice if the writers gave us a clean divorce. However, judging from the fact that Cris and JA had a very long and strong marriage, you just know it'll be painful for both of them. (And for Viewerville, too.)

Julia:
"I think Guzmi should be giving her self-defense martial arts lessons."

That's the good idea. :)

Hahahahaha!!! Super funny recap and great pictures. You put in so many funny lines that have me giggling. "Pulls an Adela Noriega", "Nelson and his little furry Nelson" (ew!) etc. etc. Awesome.

* and I am so happy to be able to post a comment here. All morning long, I would see other comments but there was never a robot word jumble for me to type in. I even tried a different browser and no luck. Arrrggghhh! I'm so glad to see one this afternoon.

Aribeth - Thank you for the recap. What a perfect title! We had the grand-daddy of the LdlS ('llamadas de la sangre'.)

Cristina did not look guilty to me at all, during the LdlS.. To me, she looked more like "WTF?" is wrong with this kid? (pardon my tacky french, but it really says it well)

My theory may prove right. For once. LOL I think Candelaria saw a newly surrendered baby, probably billed out as an orphan, and quietly switched a stillborn that Cris delivered. I think Anibal knows nothing other than his nieta might be adopted and living in Peru, for all he knows.

Floridia - I'll send your e-addy to Sandy. She can only post from her iPad or iPhone, this started while we were all watching AdP. All of a sudden, blogger.com (host site for Caray) stopped allowing us (and I think some other Caray mates) to post from our iToys. I've tried to Google this and nothing shows up in searches. It is a great mystery to both of us.

It'd be great to see Sandy again.

I have a phone with Android operating system and I was able to post comments (I could even modify my posts). It's strange that the host site doesn't allowe you to post from your iPhones/iPads.

Aribeth: You simmered this spicy, savory concoction with delicious results. Your screen shots were amazing on their own - a quick glance told more than words. This was a perfect melding of artistic screen shots and insightful, witty commentary.

"total Adela Noreiga", "Viewerville: we'll vomit", and "everyone loves everyone...Until Adriana shows up on the scene" were among my many favorites.

Nikki in a rare display of vulnerability, chose honesty over sarcasm with endearing results. She and Francisco appear to share much including deep emotional scars fueled by perceived abandonment and betrayal by beloved parents.

Did anyone else think it odd that Chris' apology to Vicky occurred with Vicky on a higher step? The disparity in their positions made me wonder if the staging was meant to symbolize Vicky was somehow on a higher level?

Cris was not allowed a moment to revel in her marriage's resuscitation. However disturbing and upsetting Lili's meeting with Adriana was, I fear Cris is in for worse. Far worse...

Adriana is right. Anibal is "perverse and evil". To separate her from her child was unforgiveable. Telenova justice is that he will likely pay a price for what he has done, a very high price.

Aribeth, thank you so very much!

Diana

Aribeth - Thanks. Your recaps and pics always get to the heart of things. As for Cris, I don't think there's a supporting player that I've ever rooted for more. I could swallow a divorce (and apparently she could too, since she was going to leave), but I gather those aren't the TN rules.

Vickie does try to keep everybody calm. Even though Vickie thinks Adriana is in left field about the exhumation, she's being supportive.

JA, Suggesting Vickie get back with Nelson? Really? You know in addition to the "redhead" that there's Kendra, right?

"Nelson and his little furry Nelson"

BAHAHAHA!!!!!! I loved that line and your "WTF?" caption.

Many thanks to all the recappers putting so much work into these.

Aribeth,

AWESOME AS ALWAYS ! and love the screen caps which capture so many emotions.

Julia, I noticed that incredibly pathetic panting on the part of Guzman...he was giving chase to a waif of a woman, and she was not the least bit tired. Was that supposed to be - comic relief?

Gringo - glad you liked José José.
He has performed many other
beautiful song hits.

Vivi - You are the Master(Mistress) of LISTS! I knew it would be from you before I saw your name at the bottom. I agree - no follow ups.

I agree with anyone who thinks that Chris did not know of the baby switch. The way I see it, she was most likely very heavily sedated at the time of Lili's birth and was completely out of it when the transaction occurred.

Congratulations to Chris for giving heartfelt apologies to JA and Vicky. It took a great deal of courage to do so - much eating of Humble Pie and much swallowing of Pride, especially with regard to Victoria. Mónika plays her character to perfection.

MY BIG QUESTION is that if Chris'
baby is buried in the tomb, which I believe she is .. how will it work with the DNA if Adriana and Chris are sisters?

Niecie - I noticed Viki looking almost a foot taller than Cris in that scene, too, and thinking how odd it was. However, the director had them placed that way for a reason and I think you're on to something with your theory.

Florida - Ooooh, good question about the DNA. However, if there is a body in that tomb, that might mean Anibal was part of the switch? I'm hoping it is eMpTy. BTW, I emailed your message to Sandy a minute ago. I've been away from computer since this morning.

I also want to join the Official Neta Equis Hazle Click Fan club...

I will agree with Julia, 'Nelson and his little furry Nelson' EWW!!

I also liked the ones Diana listed.

Since Candelaria is a nurse and Cristina is her daughter by Anibal, I suspect that she had a hand in an infant swap. Her daughter is not disappointed and Adriana's baby remains in the family...more or less.

Carlos

Doris - Diana's eagle eyes noticed the height placement in the Chris-Vickie apology scene. I need to go back and take a look.

Sorry Aribeth, I was intending to say how much I enjoyed your recap. Very funny. The photos are great.

Carlos

Aaaack! Yes, it was Diana who posted that. Thank you Niecie!
My apologies Diana!

Wonderful recap Aribeth! Thank you. You really highlighted the humor and drama in this episode with words and pics.

Doris,

Thank you so much. I appreciate it. Coincidentally, I emailed Sandy last night because Vivi sent me her email address after seeing my message to you.

Fabulous job on a great episode. And great choices for screen shots! Thanks so much, Aribeth.

Absolutely -- best call of the blood scene ever! I swear I stood up and applauded and whistled at my flat screen. But the best thing was the change of expression on Cris's face. It was so much fun to see her switch from the Mexican June Cleaver to Don't let that Woman Near a Cleaver.

Adela Noriega. Now there's a woman who can cry. With Eiza getting better all the time and Natalia Esperón and her well-honed skills as a tragedy queen ... Well. Get out the Kleenex and let the "Mi hija's" begin. I'm ready to wallow.

Aribeth~~~ Thanks so much for this wonderful recap. Loved the screencaps especially the one with Lili and Adri. The call of the blood was the greatest part of the epi. I have never seen a better one in a TN ever! So emotional, I cried right along with them.

Ok, I felt sorry for Cris last night. I feel so bad for her cause of Angel and then especially because of Lili. I really don't know how these writers are going to handle Angel maybe hooking up with Vikki and Lili, if she is Adri's daughter, how will Cris handle that too.So sad. I really hope they don't kill her off and find some other way for Cris to have some happiness. The woman seems to be losing everything.

Gringo~~~ I love Luis Miguel, Lusmi, sigh!!! That guy has a voice like smooth whiskey. I really love old crooners like Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett and Jerry Vale. That's why I like Augustin Lara, Jose Jose, Cristian Castro, Andrea Boccelli, Il Volo, and Il Divo : )

I still don't think that Candelaria had anything to do with a possible baby switch. She was long gone out of Anyball's life but I really think Pauwhiner knows something! I think Pauwhiner had something to do with a "switch".

Oh and I hope the tomb is empty. But if it's not ...

.. they should be able to get enough ADN to determine the remains are not those of Adriana's daughter but they ARE from a blood relative. THAT would stir the pot a bit.

Poor Cristina, I am so afraid for her. A "clean" divorce would be acceptable to us viewers, but what would be the grounds? They have drummed and hammered it into our heads that JA and Cris, married in the church and loving each other so much, would never be unfaithful, nor ever divorce. JA has sworn to the priest, the cross and "La Morenita" that he loves his wife and would never be infiel. I don't think the writers would make him not be a man of his word. So if he and Vicki are meant to be together .... poor, poor Cristina. They will have to kill her off (ouch! I hope not) and they even already have a replacement (real) mother for Lili. :-(

The award goes to Victoria Ruffo for crying. I can't watch another TN with her. When I turn on Por ella, she is crying every single time on Lagrimas. No one cries that much.

Madelaine,

While it's true that Candelaria was long gone from Anibal's life, I'm betting that she was very involved with Cristina's life, especially during a pregnancy. If Adriana and Cristina were pregnant at the same time and delivered on the same day at the same hospital (not unheard of in TNs), I could see Anibal (a man of some influence) telling the Dr. to tell Adriana that her baby died and find someone to take it. The doc's nurse friend (Candi) happens to know of a situation in that very hospital, sooooo...

Anibal needn't (and apparently doesn't) know anything about the arrangements nor even be aware that Candelaria was involved.

I've been an Ana Martín fan for a long time and she is perfectly suited for such subterfuge.

Carlos

Actually after thinking about it, I'm betting that we'll be treated to an elaborate and detailed flashback showing how it was all accomplished.

¿OK?

¿Captas?

Carlos

Variopinta - So nice to see you here! "No one cries that much." LOL, yes, nobody cries as much as Victoria Ruffo.

Eiza might be our next Adela Noriega. After all, AN is getting long in the tooth for the twenty-something roles, and Eiza is doing an impressive job with the role of Nikki.

I hope Eiza doesn't turn into a Llorona; I like her better as a sassy fresa.

I still miss Ximena from Gancho and Kristel from Llena.

Awesome recap. I've been away for a week and just catching up, didn't have time to watch all the taped episodes. All ya'll recappers are AWESOME> I think this is a great tn, just look at all the comments piling up now. I;m just glad we don't have to fill out a geneology chart.

Carlos, you are probably right. I hadn't thought about Candelaria being near Cris when she was pregnant. The way they implied the story of Cande and Anyballs was, as soon as they broke up she left town, came back with Cris as a child, to Santa Rita and Anyballs was gone from the hacienda. So could be that Cande stayed near/or with Cris and the Angel until Cris delivered. Interesting. She could have a part in a baby switch. But I do think Pauwhiner knows something about it too.
