TJ~~~ Thanks so very much for this great recap. I liked the talks Eugenia had with both Helena and Eva/JC. I like how she wouldn't tell JC what she and Helena talked about or how to reconquer Helena. He does need to do that on his own.

Pluti is definitely losing it. First with Helena, then Adri and now Eva. Pluti is truly gunning for Eva. I hope Eva/JC are on their toes bout Pluti. Loved what Adri told Pluti. Such good advice, but loved what Eva told Pluti, she doesn't love you, she isn't into you, what part of that don't you get??? What an idiot Pluti is. I love how Rebe let him have it too, it was way funny. Rebe and Pluti really belong together.

Love Marcela and Renato together working. I think Renato will advance Marcela's work, no matter what Rebe tries to do to it.

Dogbert needs to go. He is scamming poor Mimi again and trying to use Eva to do it. He was so fishing for info on Eva to see exactly how much money Eva has, and when he found out she is a partner in G.I. you could just see the peso signs in his eyes. He is looking to scam the two of them. I hope Mimi stays on guard with him, Eva so has his number.

Daniel has got to go. The advice he gave Kevin was so bad, and I hate the way he treats Jennifer and the evil sh*t eatin' grin he gets as soon as she turns her back. I want him to get caught before he tries something with Jennifer.

I thought Eugenia told Helena that Claudia was JC's half sister. I know JC knows and is really pithed at Claudia. I wonder what Eva/JC will do to Claudia now that they know? Maybe Eva will give her a good lesson or two, in how not to mess with the meds.
 

Oh, and TJ I am celebrating with you, the break up of Pluti and Helena.

I also loved the conversation between Eugenia and Helena. Again, thanks for thoughtfully putting the words in there that my weak Spanish missed.

Why do you guys think that Juan thinks its too early to tell Helena that he is Eva?. Will it complicate things in the office? Will she be implicated in the fraud? Is it a telenovela?

I loved Eva 's 'tude' with Pluty in the elevator scene. At first I was scared for her, but then I remembered that she's a dude and a bigger one than PLuty! Why do guys get hung up on "it must be another man...I'm gonna kill him!" So what if it's another man...that's not the point. The point is...she does not love you!! Gertie

For me there were two highlights. First, Eva in the elevator calling Plutarco "PluTERCO". There are lots of stubborn men in this telenovela and Pluterco is ranking right up there with Bastardo. Second, Eugenia refusing to break her confidence with Helena and fill her son in on what they discussed about him.

The lowlights were Dagoberto scheming and Daniel the grand manipulator having Jennifer right where he wants her. Also, how could Pluterco call our beautiful little woman Eva "caballona" --looking like a horse?

TJ, Lovely re-cap and I'm with you on that last thought you wrote about PluTERCO planning revenge on JC, especially since he threatened him in the elevator, didn't he?

I'm also glad that Adrian didn't go with Pluti's neurosis and was so sweet in defending Eva.

Because of Adri, I can't bear the thought of Eva revealing herself....ever. I'm not sure Helena could bear it either as she so loves Eva as a wonderful friend. I'm thinking Eva will have to assume some form of sainthood and literally "ascend into Heaven" or some such thing because she's so beloved and a reveal would break a lot of hearts...perhaps irreparably.

I sincerely hope Pluti's paranoid neurosis now starts to come full circle and quickly. We could use the anvil for Pluti!


 

I think Eva has to disappear as well -- I don't see how anyone could possibly forgive her for the deception.

And besides, she needs to leave her shares to someone! If she's unmasked, those shares would presumably revert to Pluti...? One of the reasons she can't come clean is that she would lose all her power in the organization, and then she couldn't protect her peeps.

In most TNs I'd agree. They've written themselves into a corner and Eva has to die or disappear. But remember it's Colombian. Unlike Televisa, Colombians can write with creativity instead of writing with a Xerox machine. I don't see any way out, but that means the writer has done his job. I'll bet they come up with something that blindsides all of us. Deliciously.

I also predict that if Eduardo dies, his good friend will court Sylvia. He's a good, decent man, and he sees that Sylvia is a treasure. But he would never pick flowers from his friend's garden while his friend still lives.

I also loved Eva's calling Pluti PluTERCO -- and the whole elevator scene. And once again some of the highest energy in the show was between Rebecca & Pluti. I so enjoy her scenes.

Doña Felipa, I agree that it's difficult to see how there can ever be a reveal about Eva/Juan. This is telenovelaland where improbable things can happen but even so -- how can everyone who knows & loves Eva not feel totally betrayed if they find out the truth? Helena is only holding back from reuniting with JC because she can't trust him -- but we know that her love is so strong that eventually she will forgive. Is Adriano's love equally strong? He thought of JC as a son --so maybe.

Ooh, Güera, I like where you're going! JC's dad-by-sangre gave him la espalda the first moment things looked bad. Maybe JC's dad-by-corazon will still accept him no matter how badly he behaved.

 

Then maybe poor Mimi would have a chance with Adriano, especially when he found out it was Mimi who was in bed with him. That would certainly have to be disclosed if Eva's identity is disclosed to Adriano.

Someday, all of our stalking will be done by robots. I only mention it because I think being stalked by a robot would somehow be less scary than the likes of Pluti or Daniel. They're crazy!!
 

Thank you, TJ, for all the conversations bits and the image of Eva's face as though eating sand. And welcome Annick from yesterday's comments. My favorite line of the night was Pluti's: "No one knows how men can suffer at the fault of a bad love affair." Poor guy.

Gertie, I think JC hasn't told the truth yet to Helena because she's still uncertain of him. He's afraid of her reaction and thinks that as Eva he can still do some good for his cause. He's afraid. And she's made it harder by saying things like, "I know you (Eva) would never betray me," and "I couldn't handle one more betrayal from you (JC)." I think he's between a rock and a hard place. He's not looking at this from Helena's perspective, where the longer this goes on, the more betrayed she's going to feel. Plus, it is telenovela-land, and this is the biggest anvil on the show.
 

Jarifa, considering how funny Jesus Ocha (Adriano) is, I can't wait for the scene where he tries to reconcile the two facts, that he got sweaty with Eva, and that Eva is a man.

That one will be a worthy comedy hall of fame companion to Newhart's driving school sketch, and Tim Conway's dentist sketch.
 

Oh Paula, Thanks for the memories -- Newhart & Conway. I agree that Adriano is high comedy & that scene would be hilarious -- if we get the big reveal.

And Blue Lass -- thanks for the comment about who would get the shares. That is a detail that could cause some sparks.

Blue Lass, Adriano was drunk as a skunk when he thought he had sex with Eva in a dark room. Mimi always has had a thing for Adriano even before she slept with him.

Blue Lass--It was all part of a previous plot line where Rebecca had it all figured out and JC/Eva needed Adriano's confirmation of having had sex with Eva to shut Rebeca up and maintain Eva's identity. Rebeca was at her tacky best!

The Pluterco nickname was funny, but only one bit of that hilarious elevator scene. Eva really told Pluti the facts of life. It just cracks me up when she calls herself a fragile woman.

Eugenia and Helena were sweet in their confidential chat together.

Madelaine, I agree about Daniel's evil smirky grin. I'm hoping he'll be taken down to size soon.

Dogbert was just annoying. Now he's turning into a problem--a dangerous problem.

Thanks, Ithabill, for the warm welcome...! I am a bit late joining the conversation, considering there are less than 40 episodes left of the show. (I am already in mourning!)

My comments will always be towards the end of the line because, like the Aussies, I am 24 hours behind. (Or are they 24 hours ahead Downunder?) Love Hulu, but seriously, do I have to wait a day to see the next installment? NO. Because there's always Caray, Caray!

AND now that I know I can get, not a recap of the show but rather a preview, will I learn to be patient and not sneak about to check things out before they happen? La curiosidad...A plague, I tell you.

I have to tell you that I have a certain fondness for Adriano. He is too adorable and devoted to Eva. Where can I find one like him (minus the machismo por favor)? Y Dona Eugenia tambien. There's a certain regal beauty about her, and I love when Eva makes her laugh like a child.

Now for the foes: Enough of Claudia already. La chamaca del demonio! (I'll have to use that expression on my students! Ha! Ha! Some of them are just as spoiled as she is.) Y Daniel!!! Just want to spank him.

Annick, in response to your earlier question about nicknames for Rebecca, the latest one is "The Chupacabra." I'm a recent arrival to this TN, though, so there may have been earlier ones. ;}
