Amor Bravío #125 (Uni 120) Tue 2/12/13 Lola Hissadora: “I always get what I aim for! And your heart and soul is what I caaaaaaaame for!”

I’ll start with lo Nuevo although I must say I enjoyed the replay of Rodolfo*sigh* giving Yago one to the kisser.  That slime ball deserved more.

El Hostal
Natalia is angry that Amanda told Osvaldo, who then went to confront Yago!  Amanda rightfully says Osvaldo isn’t to blame for Yago’s reaction and besides, she had no idea Ozzie was going to confront him.  But she’s grateful Yago knows Natalia is not alone in this.  Rodolfo*sigh* is on Amanda’s side and says so.  Natalia, still blinded by her misguided love, thinks this has caused her to lose Yago forever! Boo-hoo-hoo.  Amanda tries in vain to get it through Natalia’s thick skull that she never had him to begin with.  Rodolfo frankly tells her Yago was just playing with her and reminds her they all tried to warn her.   Natalia admits this but cries that Yago is now the father of her babyyyyyyy - waaaaahhh!  Rodolfo points out that Yago doesn’t want to be the father and Ileana has told him that Yago has denied his paternity to his family.  Amanda and Rodolfo both try to calm her down.  Rodolfo doesn’t think that imbecil is worth crying over.  Rodolfo promises that she can count him him, just like Osvaldo.  If Yago bothers her, he’ll put him in his place.  Natalia thanks him but she doesn’t think Yago will ever come near her, or her child, again.  Poor Natalia!

Hospital
Camila apologizes to Mariano for Daniel’s outburst.  Daniel is frustrated because he can’t be with her.  Mariano tells her to think nothing of it, but…………  “What?” Camila asks.  Mariano goes for it.  He doesn’t feel it’s fair that Camila is in this uncertainty.  She doesn’t deserve it.  Camila explains that the fair Maid Miriam is in no condition to hear the truth.  As soon as her condition warrants it, she’ll be told the truth.  Mariano won’t let it go and wonders what will happen if the doctor tells them it’s going to be long time before Maid Miriam improves?  Will she continue to wait until Daniel can speak with her?  Camila hesitates then says she really hasn’t wanted to think about that.  Mariano doesn’t think it’s fair.  Not fair for her or the fair Maid Miriam.  Camila’s wonders what she should do.  Mariano thinks it strange she should ask when she’s always been a woman to take control of her life.  Maybe the decision isn’t Daniel’s but hers.  No matter what her decision is, Mariano will there for her.  Camila thanks him and Mariano tells her there’s nothing to be grateful for.  He cares for her very much.  He leaves to make a call to his brothers.  Camila is now deep in thought as Mariano’s theme continues to play.

Townhouse
Ana and Refugio are fussing about cleaning around Luzma who can only sit and watch.  Pablo comes barging in, saying what all of Viewerville knew a loooooonnnng  time ago, “Yago es un imbecil!!”  The shameless yahoo just wants to wash his hands and not face his responsibilities.  Refugio’s not surprised.  Yago has never been one to take any woman seriously.  Pablo takes a call from Mariano.  He’s surprised at the news about Rocio.  He tells the womenfolk Rocio’s had a cerebral ischaemia. Refugio is shocked, saying Rocio will never be able to speak or walk properly again.  Pablo is going to the hospital and Refugio and Ana want to go with him.   Luzma urges them all to go.   She’ll be fine here for a few hours.  (ruh-roh, my spidey sense is tingling)

Hospital
Our fair Maid Miriam comes back to the waiting room, kisses Daniel (Camila looks away) and tells him the doctor says she’s fine.  Doctor confirms this and says they’re waiting for the results of two neurological tests (anvil alert).  She’ll soon be able to resume her normal life.  He’ll call them when he has the results.  He suggests that although the results are positive, she should continue to rest quietly (tranquila – I guess that means they can’t give her any bad news).  Daniel thanks the doctor.  Miriam notices Camila and approaches her.  Camila explains she’s here for Mariano since his mother has been hospitalized.  Miriam and Daniel turn to leave and he offers Camila a ride back to the ranch.  She declines and will stay with Mariano.  Mariano gallantly offers that his brothers should be there soon and she can go ahead and leave.  Again Camila declines and says she’ll stay here with him.  Miriam pleasantly tells Camila she’ll see her later.  Daniel’s eyes are darting back and forth between Camila and Mariano, powerless to do anything.  As they leave, Mariano observes that Miriam is an enchanting woman.  Camila agrees and that has only complicated everything.

Townhouse
Luzma’s on the phone with Piedad explaining how everyone abandoned her there.  Ok, she didn’t put it that way but still……  Luzma tells her about Natalia’s news – she’s expecting Yago’s baby.  Of course, Piedad has to repeat this while Aggie is fussing about the kitchen, “Que?  Natalia is pregnant by an Albarran?”  That stops Aggie in her tracks, “no puede ser!”

Hospital
Mariano is pacing when Cayetano walks in, followed shortly by Pablo and Ana.  (I’m confused, Pablo tells him Refugio will be there in a bit – didn’t she go with him?)  Doctor comes out.  He doesn’t have good news.  The isquemia has affected the mobility on her right side.

Townhouse
Doobell rings.  Luzma gets up and immediately we can see she’s having some discomfort.  It’s her neighbor, Mayalén, and she’s brought a plate of cookies as a housewarming gift.  Luzma suddenly starts screaming in pain and there’s blood running down her legs!  Mayalén offers to call the doctor but Luzma doesn’t know where the phone is.  Mayalén says there’s a maternity ward nearby and offers to take her.

Hospital
Doctor continues his diagnosis.  She’s lost her mobility and it may be difficult at first for her to communicate.  She’ll slowly recover her speech.  Cayetano tells the doctor to make sure Rocio gets the best care possible.  Doctor figures she’ll be hospitalized for a few days.  He thinks it’s best for her recovery to be home near her loved ones.  He can recommend some nurses who are trained to care for her at home.  Mariano figures Refugio can also care for her once the baby is born.  Cayetano agrees and thinks it would be good for Rocio to have Refugio there.  The doctor leaves and they’re all in shock after what the doctor’s just told them.  Camila tells them not to lose faith.

Restaurant
Yago sits down but not before checking around.  He probably wants to make sure no one is going to come after him with a knuckle sandwich.  He flashes back to the day he and Natalia did the deed and he realized she was a virgin.  He also thinks back to the moment she told him she was pregnant and when Dad assured him no grandson of his will be a bastard, then to the moment when Rodolfo gave him a well deserved punch to the kisser.  The waiter comes by with a shot and Yago asks for another double.  He thoughtbubbles, “What am I gonna do?  That escuincle is my child, but I don’t want him!  Maybe I can pay her to say it’s not mine!  (pig)  But dad was very clear --  if the child is an Albarran, he’ll recornize it as an Albarran.  Damn!  What rotten luck of mine to have gotten involved with Natalia!”  Out loud, he says, “I’m sorry but I’m not going to allow my life to be ruined!”

Hostal
Natalia’s a mess and Amanda is doing her best to console her.  Natalia is near hysterics, saying everything has been ruined (derrumbó)  Amanda reminds her that she and the baby are healthy.  Natalie doesn’t want to hear that, all she knows is that Yago will never again want to be with her.  Amanda understands how difficult this must be for her but it’s better to know the truth up front than to keep hoping.  Why would she want a man to be by her only due to some obligation.  Natalia asks that Amanda think of her baby, Yago is the father.  Amanda:  “Yes, it’s ideal for a baby to have both parents.  But look at you, you’re the best example of how well someone can turn out even with only one parent.  I know there were times you missed having a father but you didn’t need him to be the person you are today.”  Natalia is only half listening, “I was such a tonta.  I didn’t think of the consequences.  I was so taken in by love that I never thought this would happen to me.”  Amanda tells her love sometimes blinds us but she’s not the only one this has happened to.  She knows it’s difficult and complicated but she knows Natalie will come out ahead. Natalia tries her best to woman up, “I know this baby has me just like I had you.  If Yago doesn’t want to be with us, so be it.  This baby will have mucha madre, just like I had in you.”  (Right on sister!)  They embrace.

La Malquerida
Eleutorio meets up with Rodolfo*sigh*.  Rodolfo confirms that the desgraciado Yago is the baby-daddy and he doesn’t want to take responsibility, “I just don’t understand how Natalia didn’t see Yago for what he is.  I knew Yago was going to toy with her.  She should have chosen me instead of that imbecil.”  Eleuterio reminds him Natalia preferred Yago.  He’s sorry but it’s true.  She only had eyes for Yago.  Rodolfo:  “Yes, but if she had listened to me, none of this would be happening.  I would have respected her.  I would have made her my wife before ‘anything’. “  Eleutorio:  “Yeah, well ‘would have’ doesn’t exist and that just can’t be.  So calm down and tell me what you plan to do now.”  Rodolfo is anquished, ”What do you mean what am I doing to do now.”  Eleuterio wonders if Rodolfo plans to marry Natalia even though she’s carrying another man’s child, much like Pablo did with Luzma.  Rodolfo sets him straight, “This is very different.  Pablo and Luzma were always in love.  Her baby wasn’t a result of an affair.  I don’t want to play the tarugo.  Natalia will never look upon me with love and I confirmed that awhile ago.”  Eleuterio:  “See how that’s not the only way?  I know what Yago did was low but to have to marry her – that’s a bit much, no?”  Rodolfo disagrees, saying if Yago were a real man, he’d have to do it.  That’s no way to treat a woman.  Now Eleuterio throws him a curve, and he asks Rodolfo to answer honestly, “What would you do if Iliana turned up preggers?  Would you marry her, cuz I’m sure you didn’t take precautions when you were together, right? “  When Rodolfo shakes his head no, Eleuterio continues his lecture, “Ay, que animal eres! Let’s see if she doesn’t come with her domingo siete (according to a Google reference, this is a dicho referring to a single woman who has turned up pregnant – cuz we all know, she did it by herself)  The only one who’ll end up in a loveless marriage is you!”

Buenaventura
Hablando del rey (or in this case, reina) de Roma, Ileana is busy Skyping with mums about Yago’s baby-momma-drama!  Don Cayetano has demanded that Yago assume responsibility if it turns out the baby is an Albarran!  Mums thinks Mariano, Pablo, and Yago are lost.  How can they get involved with that type of muchachita.  She thinks it’s time Iliana pack her bags and leave.  There’s no reason for her to continue her visit.  Iliana isn’t ready to leave.  She confesses she feels more for Yago than just his money and it ticks her off that Natalia is just trying to trap him with that pregnancy.  “What should I do, mommy?  What should I do?”  Mommy just rubs her temples.

Amanda’s Hostal
Osvaldo confesses to Amanda that he confronted Yago!  He just couldn’t let Yago go on thinking Natalia was alone in this.  Amanda lets on that she already knows.  She agrees maybe he shouldn’t have done so but she’s very grateful he did.  By confronting Yago, Natalia was finally able to see that Yago wasn’t going to man up to his responsibility.  She now realizes she will be a single mother.  Amanda thanks Osvaldo for defending her daughter.  Aw shucks ma’am t’weren’t nothin’! Ozzie only hopes it’s clear to Yago that she and Natalia are not alone and defenseless.  They have him and he will watch out for them – always.  He sweetly kisses her hands as a beautiful acoustic guitar plays in the background.

Baby Drama!
Luzma is in the back of Mayalén’s car, screaming her head off!  Oh no!  Mayalén tells her to hang on they’re almost there.  She took a wrong turn back there but she’s sure she’s on the right street now and she’s sure they’re almost there.  Luzma continues to scream bloody murder.  They finally arrive and Mayalén runs from the car.  Paramedics run out quickly to render aid.  Mayalén quickly explains to them about Luzma’s pregnancy.  Luzma’s put on a stretcher and they whell her in.

La Malquerida
Daniel, Abraham, and the fair Maid Miriam are visiting.  She’s very tired and Daniel suggests she rest.  Just then, Dante and Teresa arrive.  She is very happy to see Dante and gives him a big hug.  As they chit chat, Daniel reaches over and asks Dante about his recorrido (journey) through Mexico.  Miriam wonders how it is that they’ve seen each other and wonders what Dante has been doing in Mexico.  Dante explains he came earlier to a wedding…..er…..of some friends of Teresa’s.  He introduces her as Daniel’s attorney.   Miriam asks if Dante has married yet and tease him, calling him the unmarriageable Dante to which he responds that it may be his destiny.  Miriam pooh-poohs that, saying it’s just that he hasn’t found true love.  But when he does he go from being unmarriageable to the best husband in the world.  Daniel introduces Teresa and Abraham and explains again the attorney he had in Chile a short time ago.  Abraham understands and  just stares at her while Miriam keeps talking.   She’ll feel more at home now that Dante is in Mexico.  She complains Daniel doesn’t want to return to Chile and she still feels like a visitor.  Dante explains they’ll both be visitors then because Daniel has invited him to stay a few days.  Miriam explains it will surely be for more than a few days and suggests he stay until they all return to Chile.  (uncomfortable looks from both Abraham and Daniel)  Dante doesn’t know if he can, but he will certainly make the effort.  Miriam tells Dante she is just so happy to see him there.  Dante responds, “trust me, I’m even happier.”

Hospital
Camila comforts Ana, saying she’s very brave wanting to care for her grandmother.  Ana knows Granny can be cantankerous but she’s good and was always good to her (Ana’s) mother.  She comments on how sad Daddy is.  Hey, maybe Camila can cheer him up?  Cam assures her she’ll be there for Mariano,Pablo, Yucko, and her family.  The irrepressible Ana, like a dog with a bone, suggests Camila leave Daniel since he already has another wife.  Refugio is appalled but Camila shushes her, “I can handle this.”  She assures Ana she’s not angry with her.  Ana knows that if Cam were to leave Dan and marry her Daddy, he would be happy and she, Ana, would be very happy indeed.   Camila explains things are very complicated (I’ll say) and although Daniel has a wife, who was believed dead, the situation will be resolved.  Miriam will go back to Chile and Daniel will stay here with her.  Camila can’t be certain it will happen but knows it is very probable.  Refugio gives her a sad smile.  Camila embraces Ana.

In a hallway, Mariano shares his plans with Cayetano and Pablo to have the architect finish his house so he can move in and take care of his mother there.  Cayetano and Pablo approve.  Finally Cayetano brings up Yago,  who continues to ignore his calls.  Mariano wants to know the details behind Cayetano’s and Rocio’s argument via the phone.  Cayetarugo lays it on them.  Rocio became angry when he told her he proposed to Hissadora!  Both sons are aghast!  Pablo points out that the divorce isn’t final yet.  Cayetano explains it won’t be long now.  Pablo confronts him, saying the divorce was brought on because of Hissadora and not because of what he found out about Pablo’s parentage.  Cayetarugo explains those are two very distinct situations.  Mariano asks if he’s not rushing things a bit.  Cayetano thinks that at his age, one doesn’t dwell on things.  Either they get done, or they don’t.  Mariano is very concerned about his relationship with that woman.  First he hands over his property to her, now this?  Pablo chimes in that he knows she’s not a good woman.  He was there when she thought she was the owner of La Malquerida and he’s got a bad feeling about her (me da mala espina), seriously.  Cayetansordo isn’t listening.  He believes in Hissadora 100%.  He loves her and wants to be by her side and knows she feels the same about him.  He doesn’t need their opinion or their approval.  Pablo:  “Please dad, that woman will ruin you, she’s ambitious, she’s…….”  Cayetansordo has heard enough (well, not really but you know), “I’ve told you once and I’ll tell you again, I will not allow you to speak ill of her.  So now you know, she’ll be my wife very soon.  I don’t ask that you love her or that you accept her.  But I insist that you respect her.”  His rant is interrupted by a call and he leaves them.  Mariano and Pablo just look at each other, dumbfounded.

La Malquerida
Daniel again insists that our fair Maid Miriam go rest.  She complains that his saying “Miriam” sounds awful.  He tries again, this time calling her “mi amor” and reminds her the doctor recommended she rest.  She gives in and says she needs to go see the princess anyway.  She bids farewell to Dante and Teresa.  Abraham offers to walk her upstairs (cuz her little Maid Miriam feet couldn’t possibly make the trek on their own, I suppose)  Anyhoo, this leaves our abridged Justice League alone to talk.  Teresa is shocked to see Detective Fracas here, when she went all the way to Chile looking for him.  Daniel explains that Fracas admitted he was wrong in telling him Miriam had died.  This is all so difficult and every day it gets worse.  He can’t wait for Miriam to be well so he can tell her everything.  Dante empathizes.  He wouldn’t know what to do in his place.  What about Camila?  Ah, that’s the 40,000 peso question.  Camila’s at the hospital with Mariano.  He explains about Rocio’s affliction.  Teresa’s all ears and plans to head straight over there.  As for Camila, well she’s not sure how to manage this.  Daniel doesn’t either but then neither of them know how to handle this whole mess.  Teresa comments that Camila must love him very much to withstand all this and not leave him.  Daniel can only hope she loves him as much as he loves her.  Dante throws out another zinger, Does this mean Daniel no longer loves Miriam?  Daniel is frustrated, saying this too isn’t easy.  He’d like to say he doesn’t but he does love her.  Perhaps in a different way.  It’s so complicated to have a heart so divided by two women that you’ve loved with all your soul.

Hospital
Pablo tells Refugio they’ll leave as soon as he sees his mother.  He tries calling Luzma who of course doesn’t answer.  Refugio suddenly realizes she didn’t notice if there was a phone in the bedroom.  Maybe she’s asleep.  (duh, she was in the living room when y’all abandoned her!)  Pablo worries about having left her alone.  Refugio assures him she’s fine.  Besides, she won’t be alone for long.  Across the room, Mariano tells Camila he can send for a car to take her home.  He doesn’t know how much longer it will be til he can see his mother.  Camila refuses and says she plans to stay for as long as it takes.  She comments that she’s worried about what he’s told her about Cayetantarugo and Hissadora.  Mariano has never known his father to be so impulsive.  Camila says it’s all Hissadora’s doing.  She’s very     skillful (hábil) and knows how to get what she wants – and she’s very dangerious.  (Like Lola in Damn Yankees? – ooooh, she made a deal with the devil too!)  Mariano:  “Of course and my dad being captivated (embelesado) as he is with her, doesn’t realize he’s making the biggest mistake of his life.”  Camla tells him what Eleuterio overheard: that Hissadora is scheming to take over La Buenaventura.”

Hospital Cafeteria
Well, our scaly one wasted no time slithering to the hospital.  Cayetano is surprised to see Hissadora there.  Well, how could he think she would leave him here to deal with this alone?  Cayetano is at least troubled at Rocio’s reaction to the news.  He hadn’t expected her to take it so badly.  Hissadora pretends she cares and says that’s why she’s there.  She’s concerned he would feel that he’s somehow responsible.  He confesses he does feel responsible because of the discussion he had with Rocio and that’s what provoked the isquimia.  Hissadora hisses that Rocio’s the only one to blame.  Cayetano has a worrisome look on his face, like he’s just tasted something bad.  (could be the brimstone)  Hissadora tells him not to look at her that way, it’s the truth.  Rocio is the only one to blame for ruining their marriage and this is only one of the consequences of her actions – of her infidelity!  Cayetano agrees but he can’t turn his back on Rocio.  He knows the situation between them is still really bad right now but Rocio was his wife for many years.  Hissadora’s ready for him, “Years that she lied to you, deceived you.  Years!  Think of that, please!”  Still, Cayetano is sure Rocio wouldn’t turn her back on him under similar circumstances.  Hissadora:  “Well that’s not the case, but if it were I’d take care of you day and night.  Besides, it’s your children who should care for her, not you.  Don’t fall into her trap.  Please don’t changes our plans.  I’m with you insofar as helping her where you can, but it’s time for you to think of yourself, your happiness, and the marvelous life awaiting us!”  That seems to turn Caretano around and he smiles at her.

Rocio’s Room
Pablo, Mariano, Refugio, and Ana are watching Rocio through a glass window – looks like Alonso’s old room.  The doctor tells them she’s been sedated.  They’re all sorry to see her in such a state and all agree to take care of her.

Waiting Area
Camila is alone and flashes back to Mariano saying how enchanting the fair Maid Miriam is.  She also thanks back on what Ana said about turning to Mariano and making him happy.  She thoughtbubbles, “Everything would be so different if only I could rule/control my heart.  But I love you Daniel and I don’t want to let you go.”

La Malquerida
In Miriam’s bedroom, Agustina is holding Agatha when Miriam returns from freshening up.  Agustina is cooing over Agatha.  Miriam comments that Agatha seems to have taken to her, as though Aggie were her abuela.  Aggie doesn’t take too kindly to this and reminds her that her abuela was Agatha.  She confirms that she and Agatha knew each other.  When Miriam asks if they were friends, Aggie suddenly remembers she’s got something to do and quickly hands the baby to Miriam and skedaddles.  Abraham wonders if Miriam is sure she’ll be ok while he’s in Chile.  She assures him she will.  It’s not as though he’s leaving her with strangers.  After all, her husband is here and now even Dante is here.  Even so, Abraham would be much more at ease if they were all returning together.  Miriam thinks its only a question of time.  No worries, Daniel will take good care of her.  Abraham urges her to promise to keep him abreast of everything.  She tells him he acts as though this were the first time they’ve ever been separated.  She assures him the doctor says she’ll be as good as new in a very short time.  Besides he’ll only be a short flight away.  Abraham agress and will go ahead and make his flight plans.  As much as he doesn’t want to go, he has to because he has a lot of items pending.  Miriam refers to his police work then says there is no police comandante more honest or dedicated than the inspector Farcas.  HAH!  Abraham can only smile weakly in response.

Downstairs, the abridged Justice League continues to meet.  Teresa figures there’s no further need for her to return to Chile now that Daniels brother in law can take charge of everything over there.  Daniel agrees and thanks her for all her help and concern.  Teresa can see how difficult this must be for Daniel but at the same time she sees that Miriam is a strong woman and will be able to handle it should he decide to stay with Camila.  He agrees but says the problem now is not to cause more harm.    Teresa finally leaves.  Agustina comes in the room and Daniel introduces her to Dante, his friend from Chile.  She coldly acknowledges him then asks after Dionicio.  She’s looking for him because she’s just become aware  of something concerning his daughter.  Daniel is immediately concerned about Natalia.  Agustina spills it, “I just found out that she’s expecting a child of Yago Albarran’s.”  Dionicio walks in just in time to hear the news!  “What are you saying, what happened?”  he shouts at her.  Agustina says she just heard it in the kitchen and regrets he found out this way, then mutters that maybe Amanda and Natalia should have been the ones to break it to him.  Dionicio’s more that a little agitated, “Of course!  The Help is the first to hear everything!  Damn it!”  He rushes over to the liquor cabinet.  As he’s doing this, Dante and Daniel nervously get around to discussing Dante’s sleeping arrangements.  Agustina’s surprised to hear he’ll be staying on.  It’s just that she didn’t think Daniel would be staying much longer.  Dante feels as though he may be intruding and Daniel puts him at ease.  He turns to Agustina and reminds her that he and Camila still haven’t decided what they’re going to do.  Daniel and Dante then both turn to leave --  Dante upstairs, and Daniel out the door.

Aggie nervously walks over to her hubby, asking him what he plans to do about his daughter.  Dionicio takes a quick swill of liquid gold, “Pregnant!  Pregnant!  That’s all I needed!”  Aggie: “It’s incredible that if she were already doing those things, she wouldn’t take precautions.  But that’s not the worst!  The muchacho Albarran doesn’t want to take responsibility.  At least that’s what Luzma told Piedad this morning.”  Dionicio can barely contain his rage, “Canaya! (swine), Poco hombre!(less than a man).”  To which Aggie responds, “Yeah well, she should have expected/behaved with respect, don’t you think?”  He doesn’t respond --  he just gives her the dagger stare of death.

Maternity Ward
Luzma asks the doc  about her baby.  She begs him to save her baby.  She doesn’t want it to die.  He asks Mayalén for a moment then gives Luzma the bad news.  The baby’s heart has stopped beating.  The baby is dead.  Our poor Luzma.

Avances
The Fair Maid Miriam senses something is amiss
Camila goes to Luzma’s bedside (oh they better not do anything to Luzma!)
Dionicio to Yago:  “Your days are numbered!”

I suddenly realized as I was finishing up this recap and saw the avances, please, please please tell me they're not gonna kill off Luzma! I can't tell if the shocked faces on Pablo and Refugio on the avances are because of the baby's death or something even more sinister. And I couldn't make out what Luzma says to Camila.

Ok, well don't tell me cuz this is a spoiler free zone, but still! can't wait for tmo's epi!!

I think the shocked faces are probably because the baby is dead. But if the writers do the cruelest thing ever and kill off Luz, do you think NG was brought on to be Pablo's second love/wife? A lot of time would have to pass for me to accept that--if that would even be possible!

in reply to the comments made yesterday about "mi mujer"...

yes, i knew that. i knew perfectly well what dan meant & that it also means "wife", but u know that i'm a dan hater, so everything he does or says, i will hate on no matter what. i just don't like him. even when he's trying to be a "gentlemen", i roll my eyes at him. & i'm glad that i wasn't the only one who bashed at dan for his behavior in yesterday's hospital scene at the waiting room. "you don't need anyone's support but mine" - i just wanted to slap his face like dona barbara did to "santos" luzardo! (twice!) seriously, i would not take crap from any man EVERRRR!!! & lol at some other comments from yesterday defending him, saying that "u gotta give him credit for behaving like a grown man" & "dan is not a hot-headed guy" - YEAH RIGHT!!! clearly, u guys aren't paying attention to the show. like the time he fought the raper, bullied alonso, & shouted at abe - that's not being a hot-head? & in response to the "intimacy" part also from yesterday, about not necessarily referring to the physical part of a relationship...yes, i knew that as well. but i don't buy it. ever since he couldn't hold back the first time they did it, i just don't buy that his love for her is "pure". 'cuz also the way he said it, like it had double-meaning & cami knew it as well. i just wish that she would just dump him already & move on with her life 'cuz she doesn't deserve this crap. see, cami, this is why u should've listened to ur brain & never had forgiven dan.

Gracias, Paquita. This was excellent.

Por supuesto El Diablo had to be the last to find out and the avances make it obvious that he's going on the warpath. If Iago has any brain cells at all he will enter a monastery... in Tibet. Cayetano will disown him over this, I'm sure.

Dante will undoubtedly take this time to pursue Miriam; I wonder how Abe will react if he succeeds.

Thank you for the fast recap Paquita! Enjoying the comments as well Nanette, not-a-dan-fan, and UA.

My questions for the day:

How old is Isadora and can she still get pregnant?

Will Dante pull a "Mariano" and declare his love for Maid Miriam (love that tongue in cheek ref Paquita!)?

Does Ileana really like Yago? They seem to have a like-hate relationship. But I guess she likes that, especially if it is attached to $$. Would she still like him if he wasn't rich? Isa might make him a poor boy very soon.

Will someone tell Dan about his hermanita Luzma? Is that why he left the table in the avances? If so, Miriam may wonder how he is so close to everyone there.

Will someone tell Dan about hermanita Natalia? Both Dan and Dio have their own baby-mama dramas, so the dialog of the confrontations with Yago would be interesting.

I suppose that when Eleuterio call Rofolfo "mano," it's equivalent to saying "bro" or "bruh" as they say around the way.

Thanks for the fabulous recap, Paquita! Have to leave now, but have to mention "the fair Maid Miriam." LOL.

Thanks Paquita, I'm glad you were able to post it so early since I'm up early today too.

Netgirl, Aggie told Dan about Natalia already. But why didn't Luzma tell New Girl to call Pablo for her? And we also know now that New Girl is the secretary for Mariano at La Buenaventura.

Isa sure has to work quickly to keep Cayetano from postponing things with her. I hope he still does though. I think that Cayetano isn't a bad guy and he wouldn't just blow off Rocio's situation to be so selfish.
Not sure what the hold up is over the divorce. Rocio already signed the papers. Too bad she didn't have the stroke before she did.

Netgirl, Hissadora has to be at least 51 years old. She was married off to Eleazar at 17; someone said that Alonso was 34 at the time of his death. No fuzzy math here.

According to Salomon Morales, who outed her past to Alonso, she was never pregnant in her life. I think he said something to the effect that she wasn't able to become pregnant. Not likely that she ever would be at this point.

Dante revealing he loves Miriam... probably, but that won't happen for a while, I'm sure.

I don't think Ileana really likes Iago. She knows he's an idiot. He would be a "catch" only because he's from a rich family and once was a matador (His cowardice about everything else makes me question how long he was in the ring). I can picture her married to him, though; they'd cheat on each other like some titled couple from two centuries ago. As long as they both were discreet and any children she has were his I don't think they'd have too many problems.

Dan now knows about Natalia from Gussie; I'm sure he already knows that Iago is a loser.

Great point, Cathyx. No matter what happens with Hissadora, though, I think Mariano will end up taking care of his mother.

I hope he has substantial assets in his name.

Paquita thanks for the recap. I'm glad someone with far better Spanish comprehension thinks the previews lean toward Luzma possibly not making it. I'm hoping Nanette is right and the shocked faces are b/c of the baby. It would be horrible if the writers killed Luzma at this point.

That Isa is quite the manipulator and, as Dio said in the preview to Iago, I think Cayetonto's days are numbered indeed.

Cathy - I think we are supposed to believe that NG stayed by Luzma's side until the doctor gave word about her condition. The Albarran family, especially Mariano and Pablo, is certainly having the WORST week EVER!

Thanks so much, Paquita, for another stellar recap, complete with delightful snark and helpful Spanish. I loved your riffs on Cayetano's name, and also snarky remarks such as "Well, our scaly one wasted no time slithering to the hospital" and "Cayetano has a worrisome look on his face, like he’s just tasted something bad. (could be the brimstone)."

I hope that Mariano VERY QUICKLY tells Cayetano what Eleutorio overheard between Dio and Hissadora. But what are the odds of that happening in time? Or that Cayetansordo will even listen? Sigh.

Well, things do look very promising between Dante and Miriam. Frankly, given the warmth between them, and Teresa's strong desire for Mariano, it's hard to believe that at this point in the TN, Dante would wind up with Teresa and Miriam with Mariano...though it's true that he did say Miriam was encantadora. Hmmmm....

Well, one thing is clear. Dio is Dio. He learns that his hija is pregnant and what is his first response? "That's all I needed!"

It never occurred to me as I watched last night's episode that Luzma's life might be in danger. I think all the concern on everyone's face was for the baby. At least I hope so! BirdBrain New Girl does not at all seem like a fitting replacement for Luzma.

Thanks Paquita for the great recap. And thanks to UA as well for lo de ayer. Once I had time to check in yesterday there were already 71 comments! and it was still early afternoon, PST. We certainly all love this novela.

I STILL don't get Bratgirl! Yago can't stand her so I don't understand how she thinks she'll ever nab him.

I think Pab/Luz have been too important to the story to have Luz killed off. And even though in the beginning I was wishing for a miscarriage, when Luz was given the news it was all I could do not to cry for her.

And Luz did ask NG to call Pab, right before the doc came in to relay the bad news.

I hope Nat's brain keeps firing on the current positive neurons b/c I can't stand her weepiness any longer. Kudos to Amanda, the bestest mom in the world! And give that Os a big ol kiss already!

Paquita- Wonderful recap as always.

I was so happy to see Nat finally see the light and decide she could be "mucha mama" for her baby, without the jerk. Of course, it looks like Dio is going to stick his big nose in and force Yago to take responsibility (marry Nat?). The question is, will Nat buy a sudden turnaround on Yago's part?

I was glad that Eleuterio pointed out to Rod that he could have likely gotten himself into the same mess as Yago by having unprotected sex with a woman he doesn't love or even care about. Pot meet kettle. Yago's a jerk, but you can't blame him for not wanting to marry Nat. Take responsibility for his child- yes. Marry his regular booty call- no.

No way will the writers kill off Luzma. I'm sad for her, but kind of relieved she can make a fresh start without the weight of knowing her baby is out there being raised by other people, or struggling further with the thought of raising the baby herself.

Thanks so much, Paquita. Enjoyed every word!

The Albarrans continue in their downward spiral. Oh dear. The hits just keep on coming.

cathyx, I agree completely that Cayo isn’t a bad guy and I am glad to see him stand by Rocio. Forty years is a long time and they did seem to function well together before the Isa-shit started to fly. Even about Pablo marrying Luzma, they seemed to agree to disagree. I was also glad to hear Mariano say that his dad’s recent impulsiveness was out of character. That was my impression, so it was good to hear it stated. Cayo should know better than to completely shut down all of his family’s comments about someone so new in his life. One principle that serves me well is to pay attention – a lot of attention – to anything I hear repeatedly from more than one source. I thought he was wiser. Unfortunately, it’s his sons who will pay for his foolishness.

I am hoping that Nat has truly seen the light about Yago and will turn him down when Dio, Cayo, whoever, try to make him marry her. (I can hope, can’t I?) I am also hoping that the tables for her and Rodo will be turned. She will see the light about him and fall for him, but he will be convinced that she could ever love him. BratGirl could also still get in the middle of this and claim to be preggers. All of a sudden, we are looking at a new theme of loveless marriages.

Has Dante said that he is still in love with Miriam? I know he said he was initially, but I thought he said he had gotten over it when he saw her with Dan and how in love they were. He was best man at their wedding. I think the Dante-Miriam thing is a red herring.

Dante seemed to me to want Dan to stay with Miriam. It’s interesting how the various parties are taking sides, mainly based on self-interest. Dante’s seems not to be doing that, but he knows how the two of them were together and is loyal to that. Rafa seems a bit that way, too, but since he knows Cam better and he’s got Vivi rooting for Cam, he may be in the undecided category. Teresa’s motives are plain as day, and of course she spelled them out for Dante (and us). Ana has clearly taken a side based on self-interest, too.

So now Miriam, the uninvited and unwelcome houseguest with entourage, is inviting another guest (Dante) to stay indefinitely? Unlike her, he was an invited guest, but he was only planning to stay for a short while, and she seems to think it is her place to invite him to stay longer. Could she be more clueless? I really am not seeing her ‘charm’; I’d call that behavior boorish.

I rather like NewGirl, now that I’ve seen a bit more of her. She seems to be a well-intentioned airhead with a poor sense of direction, not a home wrecker.

They cannot kill off Luzma. What has she done to deserve that? Have we been prepared for that in any way? I think the baby is going to conveniently go away, but not Luzma. I thought I heard her mention Pablo a couple of times.

ITA that Eleuterio brought out a great point about if Rodolfo would want to marry or be forced to marry Ileana if she were pregnant. And I have never heard such a frank conversation between males about "you should use protection" before. How thoroughly modern!

One of the doctors in the Hospital Privado de Metepec was the private detective in the Amores Verdaderos episode last night. What a coink-i-dink seeing him in both novelas. He has a good agent!

TN4ever

Of course the miscarriage opens a new question: Should we worry about what happens when Leoncerdo finds out?

We have two criminal fathers in this story: One who raped and impregnated his niece and the other who "married" under a false identity and whose wife got out when the getting was still good. The former is likely to blame Luzma for this and the latter will blame Iago and make him pay... one way or another.

Paquita - Thanks for all the details and great snark. Loved the monikers "fair Maid Miriam," "the shameless yahoo," "Yucko," and "Cayetansordo."

Admit I’m glad Luzma’s baby drama will be over. But I'm worried that she’ll feel guilty about it even though she's not at fault and get depressed.

Can't stand Ileana and Yago, but they do have chemistry. Surprised they haven’t had hate sex by now. UA, I can see their union just as you described it.

Paquita: enjoyed your recap. I didn't even think about Luz possibly dying until you mentioned it. Though I heard, maybe from Flaco, or someone on the site, that it's common to kill off a popular character towards the end of a TN (like Ivana did to Benita in STuD). Now I'm scaring myself!!!

Don't love Dan, but put me in the group that doesn't think he's a hot head. You can still lose your temper and not be a hot head.

Is NG the new secretary? Don't remember that happening on camera.

I'm with Loriloo re: Nat's crying. I get it, and it's normal, but I'm also running out of patience with it. I guess we have to remember that for us it's been days, but for her it's only been a day or two.

Karen: Thanks for the Up/Down info. I think I'll watch the original first, but I'm glad to know when I get around to the new version, it won't be a scene-by-scene repeat.

Nanette

The new girl was hired when Nat said she wouldn't be coming back to work for Mariano and Pablo. If Luzma sinks into depression (which is often the case with miscarriage and other such things) we need to worry if she will pursue Pablo. Every time they're in the same scene I watch for evidence she still has the hots for him.

UA: Did that happen off camera?

Wouldn't it be out of character for Pablo to turn to NG if Luz pushes him away? Of course, that doesn't mean NG won't try, but I can't see him taking her up on it. However, though she doesn't seem the type, she could lie to Luz about a relationship with P. If they go the route that NG is a threat to Pablo/Luz, I'm going with Luz misunderstanding (like she did at the beginning with Ileana). She's more mature now, but she's going to be very emotionally vulnerable after the baby dies. Here's hoping NG is meant to be in Yago's sphere.

Excellent recap Paquita -- cayetansordo priceless

One reason why LyzMa won't die she hasn't consumate her wedding with Pablito yet -- I think Pablo deserves to taste the gooddies before his true love is tragically taken away from him ...

Myo-

Isadora is anywhere from 15-18 years older than Alonso so she's in her late 40s/early 50s. Even if she could get pregnant I doubt that she would.

Cayetonto wouldn't believe Mariano if he told him about Dionisio & Isadora plotting to snatch Buenaventura even though he knows Isadora was trying to snatch LMQ when she really didn't have a valid claim to it.

Augustina needs to be smacked for the disrespectful way she keeps talking about Natalia. I'm seriously cheering for Dionisio to put her in her place for disrespecting his daughter like that.

Poor Luzma.

Natalia cannot believe that Yago used her for sex and is now tossing her away like a used Kleenex. Even him saying I DON'T WANT U is not getting through to her. Poor girl.

My thought exactly Myo, Pablo & Luzma haven't even congressed yet. They are not going to kill her off. I must say, I'm glad the baby died. Can you imagine looking at that baby & remembering who the father is, yuuuuuk

I don't see Miriam inviting Dante as boorish. Her husband owns half the house, therefore half the house is also HERS. If Dan died today, MIRIAM would inherit half of La Malquerida. She is inviting a guest to stay in her house (well, her husband's house...which makes it also HER house).

Quite frankly Miriam has more of a right to have say so in who comes and goes from La Malquerida than Augustina does.

Paquita--Up above and over and beyond your usual reportage. Yep, I like Yucko, too and Fair Maid Miriam.

My comment for today is about Poor Cayetansordo. No, he's not all bad, he's just old fashioned and that makes him a relic in today's day. Pablo and Yago have both pointed it out.

Carolina--I always read your comments very carefully, sometimes twice. I agree with you 90% of the time. We definitely agree regarding the Caye-Rocio-Isa relationship, but you said it in two sentences!!

I think Caye and Rocio were typical of a couple married for over 40 years with adult children living in the house. He has his role and she has hers and the twain only meet for family meals and festivals. They were getting along fine until Isadora stepped in and we all know why she did. Her constant attention to Caye as a man turned his head and Rocio sensed it right away. The more she protested and held it up to his face, the more he denied, dug in and turned to Isa. Isa took advantage of it all.

If Isa hadn't been in the picture, I doubt he would have strayed. He'd just have continued to be the pillar of the family, respected in the community, successful rancher, but lacking an exciting love life.

Dan and Camila are facing some rough times ahead. Dan voicing out loud his love for Maid Miriam while Mariano telling Cam that maybe she's the one who should take charge of making the decision, especially if it seems they will have to wait around indefinitely before they can tell MM what's what. This will put them at odds with each other for sure. It grabbed me when Dan told Dante that he hoped Camila loved him as much as he loved her.

This might make it easier for Dan to renounce Camila if Camila decides to step aside for the good of "the family," especially as she knows how Dan feels about the baby.

I liked Carolina's observation that there are folks within the Scooby Doo Gang that are taking sides on who Dan chooses.

Miriam is not the mistress of the house; that title belongs to Cam and Cam alone. It was poor taste of her to do so even if her husband owns 1/2of the property which said husband had expressed his desire to give back his half to the real descedents. So yeah she was boorish and she's been acting like the senora of the house since her coming back from the dead.

Myo-

Nanette--New Girl arrived some time ago and it was all infront of the cameras. I think something else important was happening at the time. I remember that Mariano didn't hire her for BV and that Pablo told her he was sorry but they didn't know what was happening to the MQ, so they weren't hiring anyone new. Then she went away for awhile. She met Pablo in the town square once and they were amiable.

Then when Dan & Cam got possession back and Natalia wouldn't be coming to work at MQ (because of Dio still being there), they decided to call NG back.

I often think that Augustina wants to make a Tita out of Camila. She may have managed to take care of her daughters when they were children but now she might be looking at her senior years with the idea that Camila should be taking care of her.

She seems to have very serious issues seeing her daughter as a sexual being. I'm not sure this is entirely because her own morals are out of date, either.

I think one needs to look at the Miriam situation from her perspective. She believes that Dan has been by her side at the hospital almost the entire time she was in a coma and just recently left to come to Mexico to claim his inheritance. She comes to visit. Dan is living at Malquerida. Why would she think to stay anywhere else but with him as his wife? Why would she expect to have to stay at a hotel? That would be odd. She's not a stranger to her husband. Malquerida is huge with plenty of room and her husband lives there. It's not like staying at my house with 3 bedrooms and Miriam moving in with her brother and baby. I don't have any idea how many rooms it has, but clearly it has enough rooms for Dan, Miriam, Caridad, Dante, and Aggie and Dion to stay there. And there are probably even a couple more rooms.

And considering the quantities of food being prepared on a daily basis, feeding one more person is no big deal. There are also more servants than we see taking part in the action.

Makes me think of the passage in Gone With The Wind which talked about visits lasting months. The author gave this reason: Houses were large, servants numerous, and the feeding of several extra mouths a minor matter in that land of plenty.

From the scenes we've seen scattered here and there in different episodes, Malquerida must be immense. Those courtyard shots and other views when the actors are walking and talking outside are breathtaking in the size and the grandeur of this place.

Again, the property is half Daniel's. If Dan died today, MIRIAM would inherit his half. Miriam has the right as Daniel's legal wife to invite whoever she wants to her husband's house. Camila can't do anything to stop Dan/Miriam from doing whatever they like to their half of LMQ. The only reason that Camila has half to begin with is because Alonso's codicil gave the ranch to Dan AND Camila. Otherwise Dan would've remained 100% owner of LMQ.

I have some thoughts on Augustina & sex but I have to reformulate them later.

I understand that Dan owns half of LMQ and I suppose Miriam feels like she can invite a guest to stay--as long as Dan is on board, but etiquette would be to clear it with Cam first or, and don't hate me, Gussie. I still maintain that Cam gave her dominion over the house.

NG for Rodolfo. Any takers?

Miriam is staying at LMQ as a guest herself; she has no business extend invitation to anyone even if she 1/2 owner on paper.

Thank goodness Dan had the decency to tell Augustonta that he AND CAMILA had invited Dante during HIS boda ...

Myo-

Why would Miriam have to clear anything with Camila or Augustina?

Augustina has no rights over the house. Period. So Miriam doesn't have to ask her permission for anything.

Yes, it would be nice to ask Camila if she can invite Dante to stay but the fact is Miriam doesn't have to...she's the wife of the guy who owns half of the property. It would be courteous to ask Camila but Miriam doesn't need Camila's PERMISSION to ask Dante to stay at the ranch. If Miriam asked anyone's "permission" it would be Daniel's, not Camila's and certainly not Augustina's.

I know we're ticked that Miriam has come back on the scene but Miriam hasn't done anything wrong, and people are wishing for her death and she needs to tiptoe around Camila & Augustina. No! This is a lady who hasn't done anything wrong except be in the wrong place at the wrong time and now she's supposed to just slink away into the good night so Dan and Camila can have their happy ending.

Miriam is NOT a guest...La Malquerida is half her HUSBAND's property. If Miriam's a guest then so is Augustina and Miriam has no right to invite people to stay then Augustina has no right to demand people leave.

Thanks Paquita, well done as usual.

I for one am getting impatient for things to move along. I'm beginning to share Dionysio's mindset:

Natalia's pregnancy

Rocio's stroke

Luzma's placental abruption

That’s all I needed!

Carlos

The problem is that Augustina considers herself to be the senora de la casa. Remember that she had the gall to expect that Dionicio would become the Senor. This will be a bone of contention at LMQ until she understands that she doesn't have this right.

What is making this worse is that Camila had removed herself from the hacienda when she wanted to avoid Alonso before the divorce and didn't reclaim her proper place there afterward. She allowed Augustina and El Diablo to move into the master bedroom, which compounds the problem.

I'm shocked that Viviana and Rafael haven't pointed this out to her.

I’m probably one of few out there that welcome Miriam’s presence in Dan’s life at this juncture because, as much as I love Dan & Cam, I’ve always thought he got over his love for Miriam too soon. In fact, I’m rooting for Dan to take up residence with Miriam so that he can stop being divided between Miriam & Cam and realize once and for all with who of the two he wants to share his life.

If Miriam wants to claim ownership and declare herself senora of LMQ more power to her and I’ll even cheer her on. However, until she’s done so; she and her people are there as guests and should behave as such.

Myo-

Wow! Lots of controversy. For my part, I see no problem with basically anything Miriam has done. She believes that Dan still loves her and was there for her throughout her ordeal.

What I do have a problem with is Dan lying again to so-called protect someone...which I don't believe for one single minute. I think he's divided in his feelings, and he doesn't give enough credit to the strong women in his life; for example, Camila, and now Miriam, to know the truth.

And I'm not even going to get started on Abe because for me he is truly responsible for this disaster, and he just wants his happy ending so he can continue to look like the honorable police chief and loving brother he is not.

This comment has been removed by the author.

I think Abe does love Miriam and that is the one thing that would make him compromise his ethics in his work. He is responsible for this disaster and he knows it now. However, El Diablo is a contributing factor for not having told him that Daniel and Camila got married. Abe stated that had he known that he would not have brought Miriam with him to Mexico and I believe him. The last thing he would want is to cause Miriam any more pain.

Had he known he would have probably gone to Mexico alone to tell Daniel that he expunged his arrest record and he would therefore be free to live his life. He might not have told him that Miriam was still alive and we could have a sequel that takes place 20 years later when baby Agatha takes a trip to Mexico and accidentally finds her dad. But, seriously...

What needs to happen now is for Abe to think the next step as to why El Diablo withheld this essential piece of information. It's not just a general issue of natural suspicion. I realize that some things are happening off-camera in this tale, but it is important for Abe to know that El Diablo has dishonorable intentions toward Camila and at this stage it doesn't matter who tells him.

Hmmm, interesting thoughts here. I'm a Dan/Cam fan, but I really see Anon207's point!

Thinking about this:
If I come to a house that my husband owns, and my husband and I have always shared everything (both legally, and emotionally), then I would expect that our rule of "mi casa es su casa (or tu casa in this case)" applies.

If I buy a house in another country, and my husband comes to the house, given how we govern our marriage, I would expect him to assume that it is our house. If my husband inherits a house, it is our house. If I inherit a house, it is our house. Maybe it depends on where and how you live.

Now with half ownership, there would need to be some respect shown to the other owner. However, I do agree that "Fair Maid Miriam" is indeed part of this ownership picture. If she and Daniel divorce, she could take half (or whatever the law says).

Perhaps I should re-watch the episode before I jump in, but I thought that Miri was happy that Dante was staying in MEXICO and it was Dan that offered the room at LaMalQ.

In any case, I've had enough of Auggie and was happy that Dan told her he and Cam had not yet decided if he was leaving.

BTW I thought it was a good plot point of the writers to have Abe explain to Dan that Dio did not tell him that Dan married again. Of course because Dio wanted Abe to bring Miri to break up Dan/Cam. I hope there is no anvil waiting for Abe. I kinda like him... except for the lying of course...

I do get what you're saying, Urban A, and I agree that Abe loves Miriam but I still think he's a rotten brother for accusing her husband of murder when he had absolutely no proof.

And, yes, Dio is partly responsible for this mess. I guess I just got used to him being a part of practically every disaster in this TN. It's a given that he's usually involved.

We know why El Diablo deliberately omitted this information, but does Abe know?

While that would only make sense to us and to Daniel, it should make a difference to Abe because it points to El Diablo's long-term plan.

He did promise to bring him down and he owes that assistance to Daniel. He is sincere in his intent to make good on it.

BTW, I don't know much about inheritance law outside the US, but in the US an inheritance belongs only to the person named in the will. If you inherit a million dollars your spouse does not automatically share it because it is not a marital asset.

Thanks Paquitadelbarrio for tellin it is, which is great!

"Not a Dan Fan" has given me the courage to mention my list of "I'm not a fan of" characters.

First, Pablo and Luzma, they have had too much screen time for what they have to offer. Always the perfect sugary lovers. Well when I sit down to watch a tn after a long hard day at work, that's not the type of boring stuff I'm looking for. I don't wish her to die, but I hope she recovers from the miscarriage and goes away for a few episodes.

Second, Ana, sweet, darling little trouble making grown woman Ana. She needs playmates/girl friends her own age. I could understand her "slips of the tongue" if she were 5 or 6 years old, but at 11 she knows exactly what she's doing and has everyone in viewerville thinking she's so cute and innocent.

Miriam, again too clueless and sweet. The fact that everything out of her mouth is something about how strong her love for Dan is and her clinging behavior without getting any warm responses from Dan is very annoying. I can't wait for her to find out the truth so that she can move on, anyplace, with anyone (since viewerville thinks you need a man to be whole), just go!!

It feels good to voice an opinion that I know goes against the grain of most viewers. Only anon's have the guts to do it. When someone does slam you for voicing your opinion it doesn't feel personal as it would if I used a name.

To Anon @ 5:41. I think you misunderstand the pairing-up comments. "Viewerville" doesn't think you "need a man to be whole", but many in Viewerville have watched TN's long enough to know there will be pairing-ups in the end, more novios, more weddings, etc., etc.

I was looking at the recapper's pictures on the side and was wondering if any of them are still recapping?.....i remember Connie recapping and Cheryl too....5ft....and some others but for the most... i no longer see their monikers.....just wondering

Anita, 90% sounds great to me. I’ll take it! The other 10% is probably stuff even I think is crazy when I stop to think about it. :)

I think one may be legally entitled to ownership of a home and still be perfectly boorish to the residents of the home. Isadora had legal claim to the MQ until Al’s new will was found, yet I think we can all agree that she set some sort of world record for boorishness. Personally, I have experienced this when selling real estate. There’s legality and then there is civility. They are two completely different things.

This is not the same as a married couple buying the place at all. The people who are losing the ranch are not choosing to part with it. Dan was the only person named in the will. He inherited it from a stranger and anyone who was not sensitive to the feelings of the family of that stranger, who naturally are shocked and unhappy about it, would be pretty darn insensitive. And that is exactly what we have in MM.

MM’s legal ownership or claims to the ranch are tenuous, anyhow. Miriam is not half owner just because her husband is. That’s not even true in the US except for the states with common property laws, and I really doubt Mexico, being a lot more patriarchic than the US, has common property laws. Augustina would inherit the half of the ranch that Camila owns if Camila died. But unlike Daniel, she has told anyone that she plans to cede ownership to anyone (except Pablo, who has declined it). If Dan died before he ceded ownership, since he has told a number of people that he plans to cede ownership to Camila, if MM were try to claim half of the MQ (which I don’t think she would), Camila could easily contest it.

Camila has put her mother in charge of the household. She has not given any sign that she thinks that is a problem for her; I think she is happy with the arrangement. Her mother is much more interested in running the household and being the hostess. Camila also invited Augustina and Dio to use the master bedroom and she hasn’t shown any sign that it is a problem for her, either. The poor girl has enough real problems. Let’s not create any more for her.

Renata, I am starting to edge towards your position regarding Dan needing to spend more time with MM to make up his freaking mind or to screw up his freaking courage. I don’t welcome her, and I still fault Camila for opening that door for him and for not fighting for her man from the get go, but she seems almost to be having second thoughts about the high maintenance pretty boy, too. Ana’s point about how happy her dad would be with her seemed to get through to her, though she still is in love with Dan. The simplicity of happiness is appealing to us all, I think.

Marta, I agree that Abe’s interest in the outcome is very self-serving. I do think he loves his sister. And I do think he thought he had evidence against Dan until MM woke up and backed up Dan’s version of events. I do not forgive his lie to Dan about MM being dead, though.

I am not anti-Dan or pro-Dan. I understand Cam’s love for him, but he is far from perfect. I am not interested in debating whether he is a hothead when that word seems to mean different things to different people. However, I will say that in a very short period, he has been in two fistfights (Leon and Alonso) and two arguments when he shoved the other guy (Alonso and Abe) and also hit or tossed a vase during the argument with Al. In all of these cases, he was a lot bigger or a lot younger than the other guy. I think there were some other incidents in the early episodes, like on the boat that I don’t remember clearly.

He has a tendency to yell when he is frustrated or angry (too many times to list, but including at his mother in an early episode) and has slammed or punched things with his fist in frustration a few times.

This is a different culture, where emotions are expressed differently. It is a tv show that is in the business of selling drama. But if a man in my life behaved that way, it would not be okay with me - no way, no how, no excuses, no matter how deserving the other guy was, or how provoking the situation was, or no ANYTHING . And if it is okay with you, I would respectfully suggest that you educate yourself about domestic violence and its early warning signs.

Anon@05:41: “It feels good to voice an opinion that I know goes against the grain of most viewers. Only anon's have the guts to do it.” Ahem. Beg pardon?

Way to go Carolina--Ahem.

I believe that Anons are hiding in the shadows where it is safe to hurl invective. We step out of the shadows by signing a name, any name and sticking to it; then we move up to choosing an identity and signing up in Google; then maybe even choosing an avatar to further self-identify.

It's really much more fun to know whom you are talking to. We are a friendly community of telenovela followers who encourage opinions, different or not, open debates and back and forths without it getting personally ugly. I've never noticed anyone with a name holding back.

That's my opinion.

Yes, Carolina. Telling Dan that Miriam was dead is really, really low; but I don't think he had any real evidence that Dan was involved in Miriam's death. IMO, he was looking to blame somebody, and Dan was convenient, somebody with what he believed to be a notive, and that's just lousy police work.

Amen, Carolina and Anita. I haven't been coming to this site for very long, but the vast majority of people are very respective of others' opinions, however diverse they may be, and they are not anonymous.

I have decided that I am not going to respond to anonymous posters (though I did just break that rule). I would like everyone to feel welcome to jump in, but use your name if you want to be part of the dialog and community.

Carolina, I disagree on the issue of the hacienda.

Camila probably didn't think it through, but by giving her mother dominion over the household and allowing her and El Diablo to have the master suite, she gave them the delusion of full authority. While having the largest suite may not matter to Camila, it does encourage an attitude of entitlement in many people.

Augustina should be informed about invitations extended to houseguests, but she has no authority over who stays or who goes, especially with regard to the current situation. She is making it worse with her interference, which she is too bloody stupid to understand. That's currently to El Diablo's advantage.

Guaranteed if I were in Camila's situation I would have sent her and the devil packing long ago.

Marta, Daniel's fingerprints were on the gun and there were no witnesses to Julian's break-in or the struggle. I'm not even sure that anyone saw him run out of the building. He wore gloves so that he left no fingerprints on the gun.

However, one has to wonder whether there were fingerprints on the remaining bullets in the gun. I'm inclined to think there weren't, so the circumstantial evidence against Daniel was only just strong enough so Abe could have an excuse to suspect him. Whether it was sufficient for an arrest warrant is another matter.

UA: "Camila probably didn't think it through, but by giving her mother dominion over the household and allowing her and El Diablo to have the master suite, she gave them the delusion of full authority. While having the largest suite may not matter to Camila, it does encourage an attitude of entitlement in many people."--great minds. Flaco and I were just discussing this very thing earlier today.

Well put, Urban A, "so Abe could have an excuse to suspect him." Not enough evidence to arrest him and throw him in jail, imo.

Marta, I suspect that Chile has very different laws for how the police operate and what sort of evidence is needed to jail someone and all of the details of what was going on legally with Abe and Dan. It's my understanding that Chile is a bit better than a lot of other countries in South America, but it still has a legal and criminal system that operates very differently from ours.

Suspects might be presumed guilty, not innocent. The police might not need much evidence to hold someone indefinitely. Suspects might not have the right to a jury trial or even to be present at their own trial. Again, I don't know the particulars of Chile, but I have watched enough episodes of "Locked Up Abroad" and known enough people from various other countries to know it is pretty likely that a lot of the rules and rights are very different.

Given that, the way that Dan was treated might not have been solely due to Abe or his corruption or persecution of Dan; it may have been just how the system operates most of the time.

Although I've never quite understood why someone would want to remain completely anonymous, I certainly don't begrudge their right to do so.

That said, I don't see how Caray Caray could continue on as successfully as it has if everyone simply lobed in their random thoughts about the show each day.

The recappers provide us with these recaps as a labor of love, and having participated as one of the recappers in the past, I didn't do it in order to elicit random anonymous thoughts about the TN I was recapping. I cared about what Judy, Sylvia, Vivi, Hombre, Emelia, Mike....... (well you get the idea) ...thought about the show and what I had to say about it.

I have some idea about the personalities of UA, Nanette, Carolina, Anita...... and I come here to read the recap and see what these personalities think about it. I have not noted any shyness by these folks to express strong and even unpopular opinions. What I do note is a mutual respect and good manners.

I have seen great points made by anonymous commenters and if commenting anonymously suits you then I encourage you to join us often, though I doubt that anyone would bother to drop by if we all remained anonymous.

Carlos

Lovely thoughts, Carlos:)

UA, you're right. They were in Chile. You might need less to arrest someone and lock them up for murder; but then do you have to torture your prisoner by telling him lies, that his wife and child are dead, especially when you're the guy's brother-in-law? I don't know how I'll ever get past this....haha.

Marta, I think you meant me :), and I agree completely that Abe's lie is just not something that is forgivable. I am going to be interested in what sort of poetic justice the writers will have for him in the end. He is working on redeeming himself, but he still can't let go of trying to control Dan ending up with Miriam. IMO, he would only be able to completely make up for what he did to Dan if he suupported Dan's wishes, even if it meant going against Miriam.

I am a fan of Locked Up Abroad though they can be a bit too intense. Here's a much more realistic portrayal of a Chilean prison and escape from it. Check out the prison conditions.

Well said Carlos!

Anon- Carlos is an example of one of our recappers/commenters who is never afraid to voice an unpopular opinion (usually in favor of the villainesses) and yet remains beloved by all-- or most. :)

Carolina- I do not remember Dan EVER yelling at his mom, and I have a pretty good memory. We saw he in two scenes-- him purchasing his wedding suit and at the wedding. Those were certainly happy moments. The vase breaking over the head of Al was Luzma protecting Camila. Dan did scuffle with him when Al caught him recuperating in Cami's bedroom and was trying to rush out to tattle on him. I have no sympathy for either Al or Leo for getting beat up by Dan for raping or attempting to rape the women important to him. Nor did I feel the least bit sorry when he gave Abe a few hard shoves, the man who threw him in jail, lied about his wife and child being dead, and screwed up his life. Sorry. Not seeing a problem with this. Dan can't help that he's a big guy. So what! Those guys shouldn't have abused the power they had (to rape women and throw him in jail unjustly).

Carolina, yes, I did mean you. I've been working and posting simultaneously, so i messed up. I'm sorry! ITA, and thanks for the link. I'll check it out:)

I agree, Vivi, that I don't think he's overly physically aggressive. All those that got shoved or beat up by him in my opinion deserved it.

What irritates me now about Dan is his so-called "protection" of woman by keeping secrets. Oh, right. This is TN land:)

Anon 6:28--

Updates on the sidebar recappers (although there are many more recappers than are in the photos on the sidebar)—most of us take breaks after recapping. It can be really exhausting to recap another show right after doing one or two, so many of us take breaks for a few months or more. All of the following are either currently recapping, recapped recently, or are still regular commenters:

Me (Vivi), Jardinera, Melinama, Julie, Jean, Judy, 5 Ft. (aka Kat), Julia, Hombre de Misterio (hangs out mostly on the Telemundo y Mas feed), PB (Paquita), Sylvia (often sailing around the world with little e-mail access, Cheryl (often travelling through LatAm with little e-mail access).

Marta- But we know that him trying to protect these women, by hiding the truth, only comes back to bite him in the butt. It's not like the writers are saying this is ok to do. They've made the point time and again that a lie, or hiding the truth, even to protect someone, is a BIG mistake. Every one of our characters have had to learn this lesson, and Dan is the main character who's had to have this lesson beaten into his head.

Dan yells at his mom at minute 1:50 of capitulo 2. He tosses the vase at 21:26 in cap.76.

I do think you are right that it is the same vase that Luzma cracked over Alonso's head. Kind of a handy knicknack to have around, it seems.

I don't feel sorry for the guys Dan beat up, either. But I don't excuse his violent behavior. Nope. Nada. Never.

So true, Vivi:) So I guess the writers are telling Viewerville that lying and secrets are just a plain waste of time and really messes things up, and for that, I congratulate them.

Carolina- What's he yelling at her about?

It's in the hospital after Miriam was taken there.

Come to think of it, I think our Danny Boy got a little physical with some of the EMT guys at one of the many encounters he has had with them, as well.

Well, I will add that I don't like the way he's treating Mariano. I don't care how insecure he is about Camila.

Carloina- Uhm. OK. We have very different ideas of yelling at someone. I looked at the scene. It's after Miriam had the accident at the wedding. He's pacing around the hospital, scared of what's happening with Miriam and his mother tells him to calm down. He asks in frustration how he can calm down. That's it. I'm sorry. I'm just not seeing that as an example of explosive temper. Just normal frustration and fear about a loved one in the hospital. And his mom didn't take it as anger either.

The thing is, he does it a lot. It's what I call being a hothead. I've (me!) been called a hothead for less. Combined with his propensity for violence, it is not something I would want to live with. YMMV.

Anita 06:57 said "I believe that Anons are hiding in the shadows where it is safe to hurl invective."

Wow, that's a pretty strong stereotype for all anons. Carlos said he had seen some good comments from anons.

Carolina as far as you not responding to anon's that's all well and good. When I write something I'm not necessarily looking for your opinion or judgement. I'm just expressing an opinion. Get used to anons, we're here to stay!!

Anon@8:52--I didn't mean all anons were hurling invective only that it's a safe place to do it from. I apologize if it came across sounding all inclusive. I probably shouldn't have posted the comment at all. It was a moment of not thinking of how it would sound. We prefer and like for commenters to identify themselves with a name, any name, but Carlos is right, it is not mandatory. So carry on.

I think it's interesting that at the beginning of this tn some of us were noting that Daniel was too wooden, lacking expression, just standing around looking good and now some of us see him as explosive and overreacting. It is a tn after all. Some exaggerated contrast has to be made between someone who is calm and even tempered most of the time and when he/she is agitated, angry or frustrated. Camila has had some explosive moments, too.
