Amores Verdaderos #67 Tue 2/12/13 Lies, misunderstandings, and stupid assumptions.

Amores Verdaderos Cap 67, 2/12/13—Lies, misunderstandings, and stupid assumptions (in other words, a typical day in the Amores universe)

Lo siento, as usual I'm getting a late start. But I have some screencaps and am going to regurgitate a summary of what happened last night.

EPISODE IS FINISHED!

A preview screencap:

Nikki asks our Little Gorilla that if he weren't married, and if he weren't working for her, would he consider her as a girlfriend? He looks impactado and she doesn't give him a chance to answer.

EVENTS MAY NOT BE LISTED IN ORDER. EVENTS ARE SUMMARIZED TO RETAIN MY SANITY.

Refried: Paula tells Bea that she's willing to take the chance of being Nikki's piano teacher because she's bumping into Frankie! Maybe he'll finally forgive her! Bea warns Paula that if everyone finds out that she's Anibal's amante that the crap will hit the fan and she'll lose everything because of her lies. Paula says she's already lost everything.

Guzmancito thanks Nikki for trying to dump his mom, aka piano teacher. She wants to help. He comments that she can be nice when she wants to, or in other words, deep down she's a nice person. She smiles.

The new: It's breakfast. Big Angel is in the kitchen. Jean Marie is happily cooking up a tasty breakfast. Thomasina gives Big Angel the stinkeye (he looks confused). As he's getting ready to eat his breakfast, Vicki announces that it's time to go. "Forget about breakfast!" she orders, not giving a crap that the big guy is in need of breakfast. (Hey! He's big! You don't want him to tip over from hunger!) He asks Jean Marie to save the breakfast for later, it looks delicious!

No breakfast for you!

At Odioette's office, she's fuming over Vicki's successful ad campaign, which was saved by Big Angel stepping in at the last minute to model. Her son Estefano says that Big Angel looks good in the part, and that he shouldn't be embarrassed or jealous of the model that had been originally slated to do the job (who was bribed by Odioette to not show up). Odioette is fuming and full of bitterness. Estefano asks her why she's so angry. She actually takes the time to explain: Years ago, after her husband died, Anibal seduced her with the intention of stealing clients away from her so he could save his failing company. Later when Vicki took over the creative part, the company succeeded on its own (due to Vicki's awesomeness, apparently!) but Odioette wants revenge on Anibal, and how better to do it than through his "spoiled, privileged" daughter? Estafano points out that Vicki had nothing to do with Anibal's douchebaggery, but Odioette grits out that Vicki is the apple of Anibal's eye, so she wants to destroy Vicki to get to Anibal! Poor Estafano doesn't approve and is very ashamed of all the crap Odioette has pulled, but he's browbeaten by his mom and slinks out of the office.

Poor Estafano has a bruja for a mom.

At the office, Big Angel is able to sort of semi clear the air with Vicki. Well, he tries. He tells her that he doesn't want to work for her friends ever again. She makes sly hints about how he spent his evening.  He doesn't get it. Finally she makes it clear that she thinks he "serviced" her friend Jocelyn last night. Big Angel explodes in anger! NEVER, NUNCA would he cheat on his wife! Vicki is not inclined to believe him. He says he hasn't said anything because he's a gentleman and doesn't want to tattle on a lady. Maybe Vicki should ask Jocelyn what happened the night before. Vicki almost considers calling Jocelyn but convinces herself that she doesn't care.

In the Balvanera kitchen, Jean Marie is swooning over his heartthrob, Estafano, wondering when he can come in contact with him again.

The object of his affection.

The conversation strays to Guzmancito's marriage. Lily has heard he's married, but no one has seen the wife. What's up? Guzmancito wanders in and they're able to finally flat-out ask him. He gets huffy and confirms that yes, he's married, and that this is the last he hopes they'll ask about his personal life. Lily looks particularly impactada at this news.

Yep, he's married. Now don't expect any other details! That might make the story move along faster and we can't have that!

Lili is sad and impactada at Frankie's matrimonial status.

Jocelyn and Doris (slutty and non-slutty friend) have come to visit Vicki. Slutty Jocelyn makes sexually harassing comments about Big Angel. Vicki lets her friends into the office while ignoring Big Angel. Gilda/Hilda tells Big Angel that this is the time of year that Vicki has a big birthday bash, but that it doesn't seem like anything is going to happen this year. The girls chat for a while, but Vicki doesn't get any clarification on what really happened between Big Angel and Jocelyn. Jocelyn advises Vicki to get a big apology gift from Nelson, because he's a cheating man-ho. (My thought was that what good would a gift do? It's all HER money anyway! LOL.)

Slutty Jocelyn makes inappropriate comments about Big Angel.

Christina is talking to her mom, the baby-switching nurse (well, we all assume) Candalaria. Christina is starting to imagine nutty jealous things due to Big Angel's modeling fame. Mom Candalaria advises her to not go there, and that Big Angel is with Christina because she's a good person, inside and out. Christina wants Candelaria to visit soon. Candy says that maybe she can get a few days off in a while.

Advising her daughter to stop being such a paranoid, jealous freak.

We cut to Anibal getting a report from the P.I. who tells him that Candelaria is dead and gone. She died in a bus accident; all bodies were burned. She died unmarried and childless. Anibal is saddened and impactado.

Impactado by Candy's supposed death.

Big Angel comes to Vicki's office to chat. He sees that she's trying to cut off the ribbon ("three wishes ribbon") that he gave her. She tries to explain that the ribbon was snagging on her watch. He is super-sad and feels like when he buys her a birthday gift, he'll have to choose with his wallet, not his heart. He then really pulls the heartstrings by saying he's a simple country boy, not at all sophisticated. He snips off the ribbon for her and she looks pretty guilty about the whole thing. (WHICH SHE SHOULD!)

She's "too good" for his humble ribbon gift.

He cuts the ribbon off her, reminding her that he's just a simple, honest, country boy.

The P.I. is finishing telling a heartbroken Anibal the whole b.s. lie about Candy dying dead and alone. He leaves the office and is accosted by Gilda/Hilda, who was the one who set up the whole lying thing. She thanks P.I. for putting aside his ethics, and reassures him it's for a "good cause." He says he hopes so.

Later the P.I. visits a drippy Paula. He tells her how devastated Anibal was at the news. She thanks him for his work and says that she thought it would make her feel better to do it, but she doesn't. She does this whole self-pity-guilt thing which is typical for her. The P.I. seems uncomfortable and wants her to calm herself. He goes to get her a glass of water. As he's in the kitchen, Felipe comes to visit. He sees the P.I. and assumes that she's gotten together with her amante again.

Salsa-Dude is visiting Bea at her work station again. She is telling him that she can't see him outside of the office for a while, because Guillo is being manipulated by Leo the Low to think that she's going to abandon him, and this is a really really bad time. Salsa-Dude says that he has no intention of doing that! He wants to gain Guillo's trust. Bea understands, but not now. He says of course he'll do what she asks, because she asks it. She tells him he's a good man. "Good man?" he later says to himself. "If only you know the real Salsa-Dude! But for you, Bea, I am willing to change." Awwwwww. (I'm totally a Bea/Salsa shipper.)

Bea thinks that Salsa-Dude is a great guy.

Salsa-Dude will be anything she wants him to be!

Guzmancito visits Nikki's room, with a few roses, to thank her for backing him up with his mom the piano teacher. She is super-nice to him. She wants to know if maybe his bad experience with his mom has affected his interactions with women. She brings up the mysterious marriage, where he never sees his bride, never sleeps anywhere but at the mansion, yadda yadda. Then she asks him if things were different, would he consider starting something with her? He isn't saying anything so she approaches him and they lock lips. He responds enthusiastically.

The Little Gorilla presents her with a small gift.

She rewards him with a kiss.

In the kitchen, Lily and Polita are talking about Frankie. Polita convinces herself that Guzman had some quickie fake marriage but he has to get it all cleared up before he can pursue her, Polita. (You just keep telling yourself that, girlfriend.) Polita notices that Lily is super-unhappy about Guzman's marriage.

There's a scene where Bea goes to Anibal's office to give him some paperwork, and she notices how depressed and impactado he is. She offers to get him some water or tea. He doesn't explain what's bothering him, only saying that pills can't fix what's ailing him.

Guzman and Nikki continue to kiss. When they come up for air, Guzman doesn't answer effusively enough or quickly enough to Nikki, to reassure her that he's nuts about her. He just looks confused. So she starts verbally abusing him, and says that he's not of her class, blah blah blah and she couldn't consider hooking up with a poor guy like him. He says that's fine with him, and blah blah. They're both heartbroken. He stalks off and she destroys the roses he gave her and laments that he feels nothing for her, and doesn't care about her feelings.

She tells him he's not good enough for her, blah blah.

After being told what a low-class, impoverished servant he is, he's inclined to just get the hell outta her presence.

Adriana visits Vicki in her office. She's telling Vicki about how she needs to find out who the doctor is who signed her daughter's death certificate. Vicki is telling Adri about how Salsa-Dude does investigations, maybe he can help out. See, here's a report Salsa-Dude wrote on Big Angel. Big Angel happens to be wandering by the open door and overhears this. He comes in and asks if she needs anything. She snaps at him to close the door. She is super-rude. Adri notices and wonders what's up. Vicki just says that they had a fight.

Poor Felipe unloads on Paula and the poor P.I. (whom he assumes is the mysterious amante). He rants about how she abandoned her kids, tells the P.I. that he's a young guy, why didn't he get two 20-year-olds instead of Paula? (Ouch!) He warns P.I. that she'll do him wrong too, just like she did with him (Felipe) and the kids. The poor P.I. sits through this, extremely uncomfortable and silent. Paula apologizes but the P.I. says it's your private business and he gets the hell outta there. Yikes.

AWKWARD.

Adri is curious about the falling out between Vicki and Big Angel. After all, Big Angel is doing security on Vicki! Vicki blows it off and says it's no big deal. She and Adri decide to go eat downstairs and they won't need Big Angel to accompany them. (Vicki tells Big Angel this in a super-snotty way.) She leaves the door open and Big Angel wanders in. Sees the open folder with Salsa-Dude's report on him, Big Angel. It's full of total fantasy b.s. about how Big Angel is a secret agent or something. Vicki returns to retrieve a cell phone she lost and she busts Angel looking at the folder. "What are you doing?" she says, looking peeved, and Big Angel looks guilty.

Astonished at reading the fanciful fiction in the report Salsa-Dude wrote about him.

Vicki wants to know what Big Angel is doing?!?!?

END OF EPISODE!!!!

Avances: Big Angel explaining that the report is full of b.s. Salsa-Dude is asked to explain. It sounds like he's saying, "Do you want me to go?"

MUST SEE TV!!!

Elvira, very intriguing title. Thanks for the screen shot - Sebastian Rulli never fails to make me smile. Really looking forward to the recap.

Aribeth, I just got to read your marvelous summary and posted a comment.

Thank you everyone for your kind comments yesterday. I'm luxuriating having heat and electricity and will never take such "basics" for granted again.

It's upsetting to see Vicky and the Angel's relationship deteriorating with each passing scene. When he cut the "bracelet", I cringed. Basta! This friendship needs to get back on track. Pronto.

I'm kind of wishing Jocelyn (Joan VanArk) would just go away....Okaayy?

Diana

*swoon* A screen shot of Archy Lafranco. Thank you, Elvira!!

Thanks for the Odiette summary. I guess I understand her need for revenge, but I'm with Estefano...why not go after the man himself? (*shrugs* I guess Odiette is peeved that Vicky not only saved the struggling company, but pulled ahead of DeLong in the process.)

Diana--Omigosh!!!! Joan VanArk!!! So true! Jocelyn is a dead ringer!

Elvira --- "EVENTS ARE SUMMARIZED TO RETAIN MY SANITY." LOL Please do not apologize nor worry. This citizen of Viewerville will take any crumbs our gracious recappers throw us. :o)

Diana - JoanVanArk ... YESSSsssss! THAT is who she keeps making me think of. (Well, JVA in her younger days before she had too much cosmetic surgery.) Good call.

What IS up with Joce's hair, in the back?

When JA was cutting the ribbon off Vikki's wrist, I heard a barely audible "por amor" from Vikki ... I rewound my recording and heard it again. Or did I hear wrong?

Elvira, you cooked up a delicious dish!

"Odioette grits out that Vicki is the apple of Anibal's eye", ("grits" - what a great word), "browbeaten" and "Advising her daughter to stop being such a paranoid, jealous freak" were among my favorites. This was sassy yet sweet. Wonderful!

Oh my - the screen shots were divine. Your "no breakfast for you" caption reminded me of Seinfeld's soup "nazi" "no soup for you" - and had me laughing out loud. Yes, we certainly don't want want our handsome hero to famish. Feed that man - please!

I'm reluctant to say this but I felt absolutely no sympathy for Anibal. At all. Knowing what both he and Candelaria did is not engendering any warmth either as individuals or as a couple (shudder)...

Sara, I don't understand why Odiette is going after Vicky either. In some instances, I think you can hurt someone more by hurting the person they love the most, but Anibal is hardly human and cares only about himself...

Doris: "I heard a barely audible "por amor" from Vikki". Thank you for sharing that!

With our lead couples not getting along there are few bright spots right now. Saddest moment was Bea and Salsero. And I think it's going to get a lot worse.

Thanks again Elvira!

Diana

Elvira: Thanks for this marvelous recap. Loved all the screencaps too, they are always like the icing on the cake of this recap.

I too felt bad for Angel this epi. Ms Vikki is being way rude to him, and she is also one that never wants to hear the truth like Cris. It must be on Anyballs' side of the family. I really like how Adri called Ms Vikki on her rudeness. I too hope the Angel and Vikki's friendship gets back on track. I too didn't like it that she wanted to cut that ribbon off her arm.

I laughed about Joan VanArk too. I have seen this actress in Mar de Amor and she played a similar character but not so slutty, there, lol.

I am glad we are getting more of the backstory of the Odious one and Anyballs. I wonder if he really stole her clients or she just doesn't do that well with some clients. Look what she has done with trying to kidnap/off Ms Vikki already. None of her mis planes has worked so far. I am really liking Estafano. I hope he jumps ship or takes that company over. The man has such integrity. Now if only he would really stand up to the odious one.

I had to laugh at Pau and Felipe, where he thinks the P.I. is that amante of Pau's and she couldn't get a word in edgewise and the poor P.I. had that deer in the headlights look, lol. Pau and that crying, every time she cries I always say Ya Basta! She brought all these problems on herself.

So now Anyballs thinks that Candi is dead. I really hope she comes to visit Cris soon and runs into Anyballs. Gilda and Pau will have some 'spailn' to do.

Guzmi and Nikki always talk at cross purposes. Why won't Guzmi just tell the truth about his marriage to Amber? Nikki assumes he doesn't care about her. Read the signals Nikki, and go from there. Why is he always kissing you? Think about it and get a clue.

Elvira: Thanks for the rest of this marvelous recap.

I was wondering when the Angel would actually ever see that report that Salsero did on him to get Angel hired on. The poor Angel and now Salsero will be put on the spot. I wonder how that will go. I really hope Angel doesn't go. This would be like the second or third time now.

Jean Marie is so cute with is pic of Estafano.

And Polita needs to remember what Guzmi said to her about only liking her as a friend. Poor Little Orchid, that affirmation just broke her heart. I really hope she finds someone else.

Elvira - Thank you for the recap. :-)

That scene with Felipe/Paula/P.I. drove me nuts, last night. There were enough pauses in F's ranting that the P.I. could have jumped and and said." Wwaaaaaait a minute, sir!"

Paula deserves every ounce of misery she suffers. I'm still not over her leaving her children for Anibal. And apparently Anibal knew she did that, to be with him. Which says a lot about him, too. Argh!

Elvira – Thanks. Love the picks, especially Estefano. Hope we see more of him. “what good would a gift do? It's all HER money anyway!” -- so true.

Pitfall of a “friendship” with the boss. Vickie can call the shots – when JA can eat and when he can’t, whether he can sit in her office or not, and whether he can follow her to lunch with Adriana. (Theoretically, he should’ve followed her anyway, cause she’s more likely to get kidnapped or whatever outside of the Meta Imagen office than in it.)

So, in a away, since JA did it after seeing Vickie trying to remove the ribbon, I’m glad he cut it off. But looks like he’s going to cook up something for her birthday, so I’m thinking they’ll be on again very soon.

Maybe Guzman doesn’t clear up the mystery about his marriage because he wants to keep up a barrier with Nikki. He’s drawn the line at kissing. If Nikki knew his marriage was on paper only (or whatever it is), she’d pursue him more and he knows he'd give in.

Anibal has no scruples, but I question whether he seduced Odioette for her clients as she says. I bet she was pretty sin scruples back in the day too.

No sympathy for Paula. If she’s so repentant, why is she still blocking Anibal from Candelaria and Cris?

Is it just me or did the Bangs look worse last night?

Elvira:

This is a superb recap -- snappy, funny and complete! Thanks so much.

I was also worried about the big guy missing his breakfast: "Hey! He's big! You don't want him to tip over from hunger!"

I can't feel sorry for the "poor" PI. He lent himself to a really horrible scheme. And what a ghastly death Paula and Gilda concocted for Candelaria.

To anyone tempted to feel sorry for soggy PaulaToo:
In order to manipulate someone she claims to love, (Aníbal), she has told him the love of his life is dead. Isn't this exactly what Aníbal did to Adriana? And didn't PaulaToo condemn him for it? Grrrrrr.

Oh and I liked the faint look of amusement on Adriana's face when Vikki said she and the big guy were mad at each other. Because, face it Miss Vikki, that's what Nikki might say after a tiff with a boyfriend -- not what we expect a big-deal executive to say about her bodyguard with whom she has a STRICTLY PROFESSIONAL relationship. Hehehe.

Neice: You made a good point about Guzmi wanting to keep Nikki at arm's length. I never thought of it quite that way. I am just curious about his marriage. I want to know if it is name only or if there is way more to this story than he is letting on.

NovelaMaven: you are so right about Anyballs and Pau. I never thought of them that way either. They are so much alike. I still feel bad for the P.I. cause I wonder if he knew about Pau's past, even though now he does. I'm afraid though if Cande shows up out of the blue, Anyballs is gonna feel like he hss seen a ghost like Rodrigo did when he saw Maria del Rosario and have a pang in his heart, er a heart attack, hmmmm.

Thanks for the great recap Elvira. Methinks Salsero needs some Codependents Anonymous meeting: "I'll be anything you want me to be." Riiiggghhhhtttt.

Boy would I love to see Paula dry out from her sogginess and not be allowed to cry for a week!

Wonderful recap Elvira! I was out last night and haven't had a chance to watch my recording, so I really relied on the recap today. Thanks amiga. The pics were especially appreciated.

Elvira---Great recap, Great screen
shots, Great everything. Great should be your title for this your Great effort today---thank you.

Niecie in Md---It's not you, Salsero's bangs seem more terrible each time I see them--yuk!

Niecie again---You gave us all something to think about concerning
Guzman's mirrage. I have had a different thought. I was thinking that maybe his wife is lying in a hospital in a vegtative state maybe due to some terrible accident
or illness and it is to painful for
Guzman to talk about it. I know it's not a nice thought but it's a possibility. Whatever the reason that he doesn't want to talk about his wife/marriage remains a mystery
that I hope gets solved.
the gringo

Gringo: That is another good theory about Amber maybe being very ill or in a vegetative state. Interesting. So many possiblities. But would he leave a wife like that in the States? It just doesn't seem like him. I don't know. Maybe it was a name only marriage. I know he worked in the States for awhile and when his last assignment ended there he decided to come home to Mexico. I got to wondering too if maybe he married Amber when he was her bodyguard, and maybe that's why he is gun shy with Nikki. Could be he saw how that worked out, not for the good, and decided, even though he has feelings for Nikki, he won't cross that line again. I really want to know if he is still married. Would he be kissing on Nikki like that, he doesn't seem the type. Maybe those divorce papers or death certificate for Amber is in his papers too and when Nabila went nosing around she didn't find them. I love a good mystery.

NovelaMaven and Doris: you are so right about the P.I., I just couldn't get over how he never said a word, like he was shocked, I tell you shocked to be in the middle of this ex-husband/ex- wife arguement, holding that glass of water. lol. I bet he wished he had a Baileys by then, lol.

I also want to hear more about Anyballs and the Odious one's pasts. I can just imagine them together, like two scorpions circling each other, or maybe two snakes entwining each other, I guess I have too much time on my hands : )

Did anyone notice that the actor who played the P.I. looks a lot like the doctor who checked out Miriam in Amor Bravio.

Thanks Elvira. Excellent recap. Great photos.

Diana,

I'm so glad that you once again are getting to enjoy the modern comforts we've all become accustomed to.

One of the most enjoyable things about watching TNs is getting to know characters as though they are very real people and I think that we already know Frankie well enough to know that he could not have abandoned an ill or disabled wife. I'm anxiously anticipating meeting Amber.

NovelaMaven,

"To anyone tempted to feel sorry for soggy PaulaToo:"

You might as well have said,
"Carlos:"...and I know... but I still feel some sympathy for her...especially without the excess eye makeup.

I've got bad vibes about the premature removal of the wristband...don't forget where it came from.

Carlos

Elvira--love it when we have screen caps--and a little of the cc's show. Funny, funny. even the Events Summarized...great read. It was just like re-winding and watching it all over again, only with words.

I choked up when I saw Big A cut the ribbon--and Doris, I heard either mi amor or por amor, too. It had to have been Miss Vicky, but it doesn't follow the script.

Nikki and Guzzi--the outcome is just the same, they kiss, she throws a tantrum and he backs off and leaves. However, after their kiss and Nikki starting to lose it, it was Guzmancito who was telling Nikki that she doesn't deserve someone like him at her side. There was a marvelous double entendre in there somewhere that you could take either way--that she's a spoiled child and he wouldn't want to be with or he was sincere that he wouldn't be able to offer her anything.

Niece--They went to the MI cafeteria for lunch and only Pau and Leo the Low have been able to breach security without being invited in.

About Anibal vs. Pau if he finds out Cande is not dead. There is nothing to point to Pau or G/Hilda if the P.I. doesn't talk, but poor man already got a tongue lashing from Felipe, he may spill the beans if Anibal tries to get his money back for poor investigating. But seeing her alive may give him a heart attack!

Sorry to say this, but they shouldn't do camera close-ups of Pau when she's on one of her crying jags. I'd rather watch Victoria Ruffo or Lucero and her hiccups.

Hi everyone.

I don't really post here on the episodes of this particular TN. I watch it once and while, but I have a question about it. I was wondering about one of the characters and the actress who plays her(I don't know all the characters 100 percent yet). I assume she is a villain of this TN. I think I know the character name but I dont know if I have the right name with the right face. She has long jet black hair and kind of looks scary like a witch to me. I know there's a character named Odette, who is Vicky's rival but is she the same one I'm describing? And is she the one who is trying to get Jean Marie "on her side" per say? And I feel like I've seen that actress before so I was also wondering if she's starred in any popular TNs in the last few years. Thanks!
--TF

Victoria's treatment of JA is ridiculous. I know it's all part of what gives this tn it's 'memorable' moments (i.e., black paint for breakfast for Julius Caesar), but after all the 'compromising' situations she's found herself in with Arriaga and feeling that Cris and Nelson shouldn't jump to conclusions, you'd think she would pause, rewind and rerun what happened with Jocelyn. Get a clue, Ms. Professional Intelligent Executive.

And JA may have been planning to do something nice, sweet and thoughtful for her birthday, but that was before she wanted the ribbon cut off. His comment to her after that little tantrum was something to the effect (paraphrasing) "I see now that for your birthday, I'll have to think with my wallet and not with my heart." So sad! Her loss.

Arriaga needs to be totally professional with Vicki without being rude and maybe she will learn how to treat him. It would be funny for her to be frustrated but unable to point to anything he does wrong.

Paula is the perfect example of the 'ugly cry' - sorry, but that's my opinion. I always FF when she's on screen. Maybe Guzman can have her banned from the Balvanera mansion and ship her off to Corona de Lagrimas where she'll give VR a run for her money. She's a horrible mother and friend. I hope Anibal comes to visit her (for consolation) at the time Cande is visiting Cris and Cris enthusiastically drags her beautiful mom to Pau's apartment at the perfect moment!

Nikki and Guzman: Same old, same old. Their storyline needs to move on, it's pretty stale already. Argue, kiss, argue - lather, rinse, repeat.

Maybe Guzman married Amber (in an agreement) to get his US citizenship and she disappeared before they could dissolve the marriage. He needs to find her and get the problem solved, but please don't use the same PI as Paula! He's probably just embarrassed to discuss this with anyone.

Jocelyn is funny (in her slutty way) where Kendra is just slutty. Jocelyn needed to be brought in to show another side of Victoria.

TF:

The character you're describing is Odette Longoria. The actress who plays her, Lilia Aragón, is quite famous. You can Google her and see what she has been in.

Carlos:

I wasn't pointed fingers -- and certainly not in your omniscient direction. I do want to see Frankie let go of his rage: all that gnashing of his lovely jaws will catch up with him some day. But I still think Paula is very hard to like. Yes, she is pathetic. But she is also noxious.

TF--

So far we only have 2 villainesses, KendraHo and Odiodette. Odio is played by Liliana Aragon (?sp?). I've seen her as an antagonista in two other tns, old ones--La Esposa Virgen, where she plays a villainess just as foul as in AV and in Maria Isabel where she plays the aunt who doesn't want her nephew-by-marriage to marry an indigena (played by Adela Noriega, as if she could pass as indigena) because it would soil the family name.

Once and only once did we see Kenho put on a very black, straight wig when she was setting up Arriaga and Vicky in the hotel room, but since she has been herself, except the *one* time she wore a red wig and became the reason for the Vick-Nelson breakup, although Vicky doesn't know it's long-term or that she is Nikki's friend.

Hope this helps a bit.

Carlos:

'I wasn't pointed fingers'. Nor was I POINTING them.

oops.

Thanks for that info, Anita. I watched the Maria Isabel DVD long ago (as chopped up as it was.) I will have to go back and look for Lilliana Aragon.

I always appreciate TN history notes.

Anon 5:50: I don't know if you have ever posted here, but welcome to this TN.

I get why you think that Ms Vikki is treating the Angel badly, but this is really the first time she has been nasty to him. Right now she thinks that the Angel is a big old womanizer like her husband Nelson, who she caught shagging another woman. Although we all know who Nelson was shagging, she doesn't. She seems to think right now all men are alike.

Liked your line of "lather, rinse, repeat" about Nikki and Guzmi. Nikki and Guzmi have a long way to go, I think, before they ever become a couple.

As far as citizenship goes for Guzmi, he had been in the States, since he was roughly 12 or 13 going to a military school. I remember if the very beginning of this TN, he told his friend he liked working in the States, but it was time to go home. I don't think he wanted to stay in the States or get citizenship. IMOHO.

You could be right about Jocelyn being brought in to show the other side of Vikki. When Angel and Cris are together Vikki just looks sad.

Thank you Anita and NM.

I guess then it was in La esposa virgen where Ive seen her. I saw part of that TN.

--TF

Anita - maybe that "por amor" was a whispered voice-over... sort of like cupid angels?

Interesting comment about slutty Kendra and slutty Jocelyn. One does it trailer-trash style, while Joce does it with class and nice clothes and hair. Does this mean it's all about the ... presentation? ;-)

Victoria Ruffo definitely cries prettier than "Paula."

Doris:

Maybe Adriana wanders around crying for "mi Lucía" because after all Ruffo's "mi hija's" in Triunfo, no one at the Televisa studios can say the phrase with a straight face.

Speaking of La esposa virgen, Natalia Esperón (Adriana) was the tragic, dying wife in that one. It was in the days before CarayCaray and I sat all alone and sobbed with her. Sniff.

NovelaMaven- I'm half watching Corona de Lagrimas and I giggle when Ruffo cries and says "mi hijo". New show same tsuris. Lol

Sara:

A little nachas, a lot of tsuris, and as many giggles as you can fit in -- that's what telenovelas (and life) are made of.

:)
