Amores Verdaderos #72 Tue 2/19/13 Happy Birthday to you . . . well not so much

Amores Verdaderos Cap 72—2/19/13 Happy Birthday to you . . . well not so much

"Come on, Angelito, when are you going to put out?" "SOMEONE, PLEASE SAVE ME!!!!" This is when we need a super-jealous Christina to show up and put Jocelyn in her place!

Recap is finished and all screencaps are up!

OVERVIEW: (some details may be condensed and events may not be listed in order)

REFRIED: Big Angel ain't having none of his mujer working for that zorra Kendra-Ho. He drags her to another room to chat. Meanwhile, Salsa-Dude asks Kendra-ho what her plan is. It's to drive a wedge between Big Angel and his wife, thus speeding up Big Angel's and Vicki's inevitable (in Kendra-ho's opinion) affair. Salsa-Dude looks dubious.

Adriana confronting doctor who is in Anibal's pocket. He just repeats the party line, her baby is dead. She doesn't believe him.

THE NEW:

* Poor Big Angel cannot stop his wife from working for the scheming ho, Kendra. She doesn't get what is so bad with Kendra-Ho, if she was a co-star on the ad. Big Angel sputters and hesitates telling Chris the truth—that Kendra-Ho is boinking the Furry Fornicator. Chris continues to argue, and brings up how it's somehow okay for Big Angel to be cheek-to-jowl with Vicki everyday! Unfortunately Big Angel doesn't get to explain his true objections to Kendra, because Vicki wanders in to screw everything up. Then Kendra comes in to screw things up even more, by repeating her job offer. Oblivious Vicki thinks it's a 'great idea'! Woo hoo. Big Angel quietly glowers.

The BIGGEST lipstick smacky mark I've ever seen on a man's cheek.

Chris dressed as Elvira. (No, not me! Elvira the Mistress of the Dark.)

* Adriana gets all in-your-face with the bribed doctor, and threatens to "out" him in court for separating her from her baby. He looks scared.

* More with poor Big Angel being overruled and outnumbered by three women. He tries—oh how he tries—to explain without explaining, that Chris working for Kendra-ho is a bad idea. Vicki thinks that he's just being a typical chauvinist male who wants to keep wifey home, barefoot and pregnant. He sees it is hopeless. Three against one! You can see it written all over his face as Kendra-Ho triumphantly gives Chris her number and all the wheels are set in motion.

Three women look at him as if he is some Neanderthal knuckle-dragging sexist pig. What is he to do?

Kendra-Ho wins! She's giving Chris her info so Chris can start working for her. Big Angel is like WHAT. EVER.

* Anibal is congratulating Vicki on the successful ad campaign. The bribed doctor calls Anibal up, all in a tizzy over Adriana's threats. Anibal will see him. He spins some excuse for Vicki for going, saying he's got business to take care of. She offers to take care of it, but he says, no, it's your birthday. Then Vicki says something that I'll BOLD because it's so obviously meant to be forecasting something to Viewerville: Vicki says, "My father can be so considerate to me. Why doesn't he treat Adriana the same way, if she is also his daughter?" Why, why indeed?!?!

* Big Angel is perhaps able to make a dent in Chris's resolve to work for Kendra-Ho. He says he doesn't trust Kendra-ho, but he'll support Chris in whatever she decides. But please, think about it . . . she hugs him and says this is why she loves him so much.

* Polita asks Jean Marie if he's sure that the object of his affection, Estefano, is batting for the same team. Jean Marie pretty much says that his gaydar does not fail. (Jean Marie adds that it's possible that Estefano may not realize what team he bats for yet.) Polita advises him to be cautious, make sure that Estefano is on the same page (so to speak). As well as, better consider the feelings of Ms. Odioette. Jean Marie agrees—Odioette may not approve of him as a "son-in-law"!

Yeah, there may be a teensy dust-up when Odioette finds out!

* Bea having a touching mom-daughter chat with Paula at work. Paula will support her and Guillo in any way. Paula invites Bea and Guillo over that evening. They discuss child-care details, and Paula agrees to pick up Guillo from wherever that evening.

* Little Gorilla brings a tray of food for a seriously sulking Nikki. She blames him for all her woes. Yes, he's still going to tell her mom about her bulimia. She comes out to the hall to talk to him, then suddenly shoves the tray over, spilling its contents all over him and the floor. Little Gorilla is impactado and furious.

A Little Gorilla with a food tray.

That didn't end well.

* Anibal meets with bribed doctor and doctor names his price to get out of  the country. It's a high price; Anibal will have to make some bank transactions. Meanwhile, Vicki and Adriana are chatting. Adriana is saying that surely Anibal has bribed the doctor. (No sh*t Sherlock!)

* Everyone has congregated at the Balvanera house for Vicki's surprise birthday party. Kendra-Ho is there. Odioette is there will her perhaps-closeted son, Estefano. Odioette makes some snarky remark to Anibal. Vicki's friends Doris (non-slutty) and Jocelyn (slutty) arrive. We get to meet Doris's husband, who seems okay.

* Kendra is a guest at the party. Some tense words between her and FF. She had to come because Nikki invited her, she claims.

* Vicki and her bodyguard Big Angel arrive home, to a dark house. They're a bit freaked out at first. Then SURPRISE! And Vicki has to play along with hubby Furry Fornicator's big show. He presents her with an expensive necklace. Kendra-Ho looks jealous. All she got was a ring! Boo hoo.

SURPRISE! Yay. These two are thrilled beyond measure.

* The Birthday Party from Hell. Now it's Big Angel's turn to feel uncomfy as he sees the Furry Fornicator slobber all over his wife, Vicki, in front of a houseful of birthday party guests. FF is hoping for a reconciliation. Vicki plays along but privately she isn't warming to FF that much.

Vicki endures FF's yukky kiss. Notice Kendra's expression in the background.

"Yeah, whatever" is basically Big Angel's reaction to FF's big show.  He won't forget what a sleaze the FF is.

* Salsa-Dude is delivering Bea to her home. Mentions that Big Angel's family lives here, what a coincidence! They exchange puppy-dog looks but no physical contact. Salsa-Dude (Oh He With the Unfortunate Bangs) smiles his brilliant puppydog looks at Bea. I don't care if his bangs are unfortunate, I am on Team Salsa-Dude! (Well, until/unless he really does something past the point of no return.)

The bangs are ruffled up here and don't look too unfortunate.

* Super intense and sad scenes with Bea and Leo the Low. Turns out that when Paula went to pick up Guillo, he wasn't there. Then a freaky, scary Leo bursts into the apartment. Turns out he has absconded with Guillo and he won't return the boy to Bea, stating that she's dating Salsa-Dude so she doesn't need her son around. Leo is evil and menacing. Bea is shattered. Leo "demands" to go to Felipe's house to pick up Guillo's things, as Guillo is permanently with him now. Bea won't allow that. Paula threatens to have him kicked out by Security. He says go ahead and makes some veiled, threatening gesture. No matter how much Bea demands to see her son, Leo won't "allow" it. Bea is absolutely devastated and dissolves into tears. Paula tries to comfort her. This whole sequence of scenes were nerve-wracking. Excellent performances by all parties. Wow, that Leo guy is one scary, despicable dude.

Leo the Low.

Such a macho man—threatening some women!

Leo the Low is so scary that he has poor Bea and Paula clinging to each other for support.

* More at the Party from Hell. Also: Vicki contemplates the big gaudy necklace FF gave her. She's not inclined to get back together with him. Meanwhile, FF and Anibal are thinking that women will forgive infidelity if given enough pretty gifts and if enough groveling is done. Pigs.

* Chris is telling Lily about her job offer. Can't figure out why Big Angel doesn't approve of Kendra-Ho. Mother and daughter talk a little more about Guzmancito's supposed marriage status. They think he made the whole thing up to get Polita off his back. (You keep telling yourselves that, sisters!)

* Poor Big Angel is accosted and harassed in the most shameless way possible by an insanely horny Jocelyn, who is violently determined to have a taste of this tempting piece of man candy. Furry Fornicator "catches" them (aka poor Big Angel being harassed) and acts all high and mighty, as if Big Angel did something wrong. He orders Big Angel to the kitchen. Big Angel fusses in the kitchen and messes up something poor Jean Marie is cooking.

Harassed and dragged around by the tie! Pobre Big Angel.

* It does seem like Jean Marie's gaydar is excelente, because at the party, he and Estefano exchange smiling, meaningful glances. Odioette doesn't seem to notice this. When one of Vicki's friends asks Estefano when he's going to get married, he gives the standard line about how he "hasn't met the right person yet." Jocelyn makes a really snarky remark about how if he delays too long, people might wonder if he's one of those "suspicious bachelors." Odioette doesn't like the sound of this at all. Denial is not just a river in Egypt, methinks.

Their eyes meet from across the room . . .

Jean Marie's future galán? Viewerville thinks yes.

* There are some weird vibes going on between Jocelyn and the Furry Fornicator. I need to rewatch, but I've been suspicious for a while that there's more of a history between these two.

* Nikki asks Doris (the non-slut friend of Vicki) if she could say hi to Doris's son when she sees him next. The son was THE only non-douchebag ex that Nikki ever had. Doris is happy to have Nikki see her son again. Methinks we may be seeing a new character introduced to this story pretty soon, and our Little Gorilla may have some competition!

* Nikki has a major setback when Vicki's two friends, Doris and Jocelyn, compliment her on her womanly, beautiful curves, saying it's so nice to see that she doesn't look like a skeleton. Unfortunately for Nikki, apparently looking like a skeleton is a plus, because she is very distraught by this. In her room, she wastefully devours two platterfuls of Jean Marie's carefully and lovingly prepared treats and then immediately vomits them all up. She has a meltdown and finally, in our finale, confesses that she's bulimic to her mom because she simply can't take it anymore. Finally the truth is out! Viewerville sighs. Poor Vicki is impactada.

Nikki melts down completely and Vicki is impactada. Better that you learn sooner rather than later, Vicki!

AVANCES: I can't recall what they are right now, but I do remember that they are MUST SEE TV!!!!

Elvira: Thanks for this and the screencaps too. You fit everything in so perfectly.

My favorite lines so far ar

Denial is just not a river in Egypt, methinks.

That Angel is a tempting piece of man candy, lol.

I hated Furry Fornicator yelling at the Angel and also Anyballs and FF being so buddy buddy, yuck for the both of them.

Hate, Hate, HATE, Leo the Low, did I say how much I HATE him??? I hated the way he threatened and intimated both Betty and PauToo. I hope Betty tells Guzmi, her bro, and also Dances, can't wait for Leo's beatdown.

So FF thinks he's got Ms Vikki right where he wants her. I wouldn't bet on it. Did she wear that necklace he gave her?

Finally Nikki comes clean. I am so glad her Mama knows now.

I too had a feeling that Josie and FF had had a fling maybe in the past. Hmmmm.

Doris' son Roy is Nikki's ex evidently, and I too think he will show up at some point. Guzmi better get that divorce sooner, rather than later, if he really wants Nikki.

Can't wait for your recap Elvira and your always fab screencaps.

Fabulous recap!!! When I'm watching the show those sort of moments just fly by so quickly. I love how the screen caps you recappers are doing really, really freeze the perfect moment. This is an example. Sure the scene was funny as I watched it last night, but it's even more hilarious now that I see this. Aribeth's screencap of the Doctor's facial expression yesterday was another.

Looking forward to the recap, Elvira. You never fail to make me laugh.

Thanks, Elvira. This was a hard episode to watch. I had to switch channels when Lousy Leo appeared. Those scenes hit too close to home as my younger daughter is going through divorce and custody hearings. Her soon-to-be ex isn't as big as Leo , but he's an alcoholic and is verbally abusive and threatening. He's going down a slippery slope and we are all hoping that he doesn't drag her and their children with him. All our lives have been affected, so watching Leo is not an escape for me. Sometimes, I feel like I'm living in a telenovela. What do they say...life is stranger than fiction...art imitates life. I guess all these bizarre novela storylines are somehow based on real life to an extent. I need something a little more lighthearted to watch. However, I'd like to see how this whole novela plays out. Jocelyn is unbelievable. What a maneater. I'm sure those looks she gave Fluffy indicate a past daliance. She was probably the original KendrHO in Fluffy's miserable life. Well, time to go to work and focus on that.

Elvira: this was a lovely melody, you hit all the high (and low) notes to perfection. This was fantastic.

So many favorites: "accosted and harassed in the most shameless way possible", "his gaydar does not fail" and "taste of this tempting piece of man candy" had me smiling away.

Leo's contorted facial expressions, hateful spewings, his body quivering with fury were frightening. For a moment, I couldn't remember if I was really watching a character in AV or an orc in LOTR.

Hoping that Francisco and Salsero will team up against Leo. I think it's going to take a village to defeat Leo who in addition to superhuman strength (and anger) seems also to be tettering on the edge of insanity. Ack.

Madelaine, I think Vicky did put Nelson's necklace on but no one has seen it as she ran to Nikki. At last the truth is out. Now, hopefully Nikki will get the help she so desperately needs.

I thought Josie just had Nelson's number (takes one to know one)...but after your comments Elvira and Madelaine, I'm sure you are right that there is history there. Josie certainly doesn't respect the fact JA is married, why should she care that Nelson is either - even if it is to her best friend??

So, "Happy Birthday to you...well not so much" was certainly the perfect title for this less than stellar day for Vikki.

When watching Nelson kiss Vicky (what a side show), I thought Angel's look held more disgust for Nelson than actual jealousy, but there was definitely a tinge there.

So where is poor Guillo?

Diana

Sara, totally agree with your comments about the screen shots which I forgot to mention. Elvira, the shot did make me laugh - I was wondering if JA was going to pull down the drapes! He was really trying to get away...

Susanlynn, you and your family are in my prayers. What a terrible situation - God bless you, your daughter and grandchildren. From your previous posts, I know it's difficult for you to watch. I do love reading your comments though -"She was probably the original KendrHO in Fluffy's miserable life". Most excellent!

Diana

Elvira- Great summary! Even if you don't get a chance to add more, you've given us plenty of good stuff.

Susanlynn- I don't even know anyone who has gone through this situation and I found the Leo scene too hard to watch. I had to leave the room at one point. But aside from the fear and physical intimidation, I wonder how Leo can have a case in court? He has no proof of infidelity (getting a ride to her mom's house from her co-worker does not equal infidelity), she has witnesses for his angry outbursts (her dad, mom, brother and coworkers), she has people who saw her bruised up, she has a good job, and she's the mom and mother's get first priority with child custody in Mexico. It’s time for her to see an attorney and to file harassment/abuse charges with the police.

I am SOOO happy that Vicky finally knows about Nicky. Hopefully, since she’s dealing with this issue, Vicky won’t go back downstairs and that hideous party will be broken up. FF doesn’t get to show off his gift to Vicky, horny Joclyn will have to go home, and so will those witches with a ‘b’, Kendho and Odioette. The only bad thing will be we won’t get to see any more furtive glances between Estefano and Jean Marie.

Susanlynn- my thoughts are with your daughter and I'm sorry your family is being put through the wringer because of this man.

Diana- Leo=Orc. Perfect. He certainly is beastly.

Susanlynn: My thoughts and prayers are with you also and your daughter and children. How awful to be going thru that. Hopefully the leo the low story line won't be thru this whole TN. Otherwise this TN is really a hoot.

Diana: Thanks, I wasn't sure if she had put it on or not, had to leave the room for a sec. I am just hoping that Ms Vikki and FF don't stay together. Loved the avances where Ms Vikki slaps the crap outta FF.

Elvira- thank you for the recap. That convo between Nikki, Joce and Doris awas lost on me... I didn't understand what they had said to her.

The truly bizarre thIng about this whole skinny model thing Nikki has is that she has not noticed that Kendra is nowhere near skinny. That girl has a very healthy body and hasn't starved at all.

I'm so relieved that Nikki has broken thru her denial and told Vikki. Now lets hope that Vikki won't negate it.

susanlynn - I hope your daughter is going to Alanon and finding strength, hope, and knowledge that she is not alone in her situation.

Where WAS Guillo?

Elvira - Thanks for the highlights - and the lowlights. Love the way you slice through all the action. Hilarious shot of poor Angel trying to escape Jocelyn.

I too am wondering if Jocelyn and Nelson had a thing. She was so delighted to needle Nelson about Angel. Makes me think if they did have a thing that Nelson was the one who ended it.

I read uncomfy on Angel's face but not jealousy on the Nelson-Vickie kiss. For one thing, Angel knows it was only a front. My feeling was he felt sorry for her for having to fake it in front of her friends and family.

Leo is truly scary. ITA this is hard to watch. But the actor is doing a good job.

Yay, Jean Marie and Estefano have made contact.

Yay, in the advances Vickie double-slaps Nelson.

Sara C.: The other day you asked about Antolin from LFDD and how he was redeemed and who knew about his exploits. I think he told Camilo (Gabriel Soto) some of what he did, but I can't remember if he actually killed anyone, I think he said he had in the past. He confessed to Camilo what he had done to Ivan, where Antolin thought he killed a guy and blamed it on Ivan. I know Antolin had a pact with El Gordo, but that went south. He did tell Carolina he had a past, but didn't exactly tell her what all he had done. I know he was redeemed in the end by marrying Carolina and she having his bebe. Maybe Vivi, if she reads this, can add more.

Doris-ITA about Nikki's desire to be skinny while her BFF is so curvy. Makes no sense.

Thanks, Elvira! Superb recap; superb pics.

From what I learned of anorexia and bulimia from numerous health classes and living with people with eating disorders, the disease tends to warp people's perception of themselves. So Nikki could really believe that Kendho looks fine, while seeing herself as much more fat than she really is when she looks in the mirror. I'm glad she finally told her mother. Don't know how the friends could describe her as curvy, though.

Vicky looked SO unthrilled about that party. Nice try, Nelson.

I could barely even watch the Leo scenes. Ugh. He is losing it. Paula is useless. Why wasn't she calling the police?

Mads- LFDD: Oh, Antolin was bad. But so hot. *sigh* He hinted at his shady past. He never confirmed he had killed someone in the past, but he didn't deny it either. And the other hoods in town knew better than to mess with him-- so there had to be a reason. He was the one who killed the guy who attacke Ivan, then he had his brother Camilo lie to Ivan and say he (Camilo) did it to protect Ivan, which convinced Ivan to take the blame for his BFF. Then he slashed Gordo, and attempted to kill Saul, which left Saul barley alive and disfigured. And then in the end he shot Saul dead-- but this was to help the good guys. This was definitely the first time in a tn that I've seen such a bad guy be so reformed and rewarded at the end-- wife, child, and reconciled with his family. Maybe there IS hope for Salsero!

Antolin was one in a bajillion. *le sigh, le heave*

Thank you, Vivi for the info about Antolin. I'm glad there is a glimmer of hope for Salsero... But he really needs to lose the new 'do.

Thanks to Julia as well for the reminder about the self-perception of those with eating disorders.

Oh, Julie: You are so right, le heave, le sigh. Antolin was one in a bajillion.

Vivi: Thanks amiga. I knew you would know for sure : )

Julia- my thanks also for reminding us about the distorted self perception that Nikki has. There is a lot about eating disorders that I don't know.

Thank you Elvira. Even though you said that you are writing from memory, everything seems to be spot on.

Susanlynn---So sorry for your daughter. No one should have to go through something like that. Alcohol is a powerful enemy--prayers for your daughter and children.

When Leo's beatdown comes, it will be great. I'm not a big fan of violence but this gut deserves the double punch--Salcero/Guzman.
I can't understand Spanish and so I don't know what was being said---
still, that scene was very hard to watch. I was afraid for Betty's safety. That guy could kill.

Elvira---I forgot. Your title is perfect, A big gold star for sure.

Josie and the Pussycat were on the prowl last night, well at least Josie was. Poor Angel can't get away. It's too bad that Christina wasn't around, that would have been some cat fight---my money would be on Chris.

Can't wait for the FF slapdown tonight. I thought that Vicky was starting to cave but after the preview, I guess not. Tonight should be good.

One last thing---Betty get a lawyer pronto.
the gringo

Looking forward to the recap Elvira.

Hope springs....That Bea doesn't turn out to be reduced to a puddle of tears and become a whining machine like her mother and settle for lifelong abuse.

Hope springs....That Vikki will get Nikki's skinny ass to a shrink yesterday and won't enable her any further.

For me the most sickening moment of the episode was Furry Fornicator and Anyballs in the testosterone pit gloating about how women will forgive their extra-marital bonking if men buy them enough stuff and suck up masterfully.

Enjoyed!
Just the thought of another character coming in and taking Nikki's attention away from Guzman makes me nervous.
They already have enough going on with their flapjack relationship, Guzman's marriage, and Nikki's bulimia/insecurities.
I'm sure it's going to make for an interesting change to the storyline, but poor Guzmancito I'm sure will get the worst end of it.
Still looking forward to what is to come though.
Team Nikki/Guzmancito

I know I am in the minority on the Nikki/Guzman relationship, but I really hope that Nikki does fall for someone else and that Guzman finds a woman and not the spoiled child. I think the age and look difference is beyond the pale.

Thank you for the summary, dear, and I absolutamente loved the hilarious screencap!

I can't be irritated by the crazy nimpho Jocelyn, she's just so much fun. She'd better never meet Cris, though I'm sure she would be able to convince Cristina that her crazy lust towards her husband is totally normal and acceptabe.

The scene with Neta Equis an Vicky was great, I like the chemistry between the actresses.

But my favourite is the moment when Jen Marie and Estefano met.

Sorry for the typos. Virtual keyboard = nightmare.

(First foremost: God bless, Susanlynn, will keep you and your family in my prayers)
Thanks for another great Recap. Ya'll are AWESOME> I don't get closed captions anymore and sometimes miss points.
So glad Nikki just let it blurt out to mamacita Vikki. Yank that bandaid off the scab.
I'm in definite minority but I believe that Guzmancito is way to old for Nikki, and she needs to slow down on the growing up/modeling/fast life--could take a cue from Lilli
And Vikki has got to stop tempting poor angel. He is such a lovable dufus, walkin around with that big lipstick kiss on his cheek
Adios. Gracias a todos! Ron

Anonymous 1:50 PM---I don't think that Nikki and the Guzmancito are a great match either---bot don't tell that to Carlos.
the gringo

I also never liked the Nicki-Guzman pairing from the beginning, and I also think he's too old for her. When he first met Adriana, I thought that was a more appropriate match. However, lately I've started to see how Nicki and Guzman are very alike in the way they keep secrets about themselves and try to hide how emotionally damaged they both are. They both need to let go of their demons and grow up, and THEN I think their age, maturity level, and lifestyle differences won't be so apparent and they’ll make a better match.

Great comments, everyone! Believe it or not, I do want to add a bit more to the recap (as well as more screencaps). Will start doing that soon!

Re: Antolin in La Fuerza del Destino: My guilty, guilty pleasure. I was so glad he was redeemed in the end!

Thinking out loud. I may be way out in left field but I just can't see Guzman paired up with the spoiled, immature, hot tempered, my way or no way Nikki. [sorry Carlos] Don't get me wrong, I don't really dislike her but she has so many flaws that she needs to work on that I just don't see those two as a pair. Wouldn't it be interesting if the Guzmancito gets his divorce and in the end, ends up with Nikki's rival, the nicer, sweeter more mature Little Orchid.
the gringo

Susanlynn, my heart really goes out to you and especially to your daughter. You have always been so cheery and upbeat, so I can tell how devastating this is for you.

Was there really any reason that José Ángel had to be so nasty to Jean Marie? I didn't so much mind him snapping at him but then to mess up his pudding or whatever that was...

Carlos

Aribeth, I'm glad you mentioned the chemistry between Eiza and Erika. They are a very believable pair as mother and daughter. I like this show more and more every day and these two (especially Erika, whom I've loved since TdA) are a big part of that.

Carlos: Pobre Jean Marie. He was not having a good chefy day, I must say. First Polita curdled the homemade mayonaisse he was making, by adding too much lemon juice, and then the Angel messed up the cereme he was making. Pobrecito!

Leo is sooo scary. I agree that he seems on the brink of insanity. His tears as he told Bea that she wanted to be with someone else and not her family (meaning himself and Guillo) were jarring. In his mind he is definitely the aggrieved party. He's very violent with Paula also, probably holding her up (in his deranged mind) as being the role model for Bea. Poor little Guillo. Bea and Paula should go straight to the police and start getting things on record.

Carlos: sorry typo I meant creme : )

Elvira: Thanks so much for the added screencaps and the additonal recap.

My favorite screencap is the one with Josie yanking Angelcito by his tie and the one with the HUGE lipstick stain on his cheek, lol.

ITA that Betty and PauToo need to contact the police about leo the low and tell security in that building not to let him in. He is deranged and she seriously needs a restraining order. Also I agree with Vivi, just cause she got a ride home with a co-worker isn't proof she is seeing him. There are so many witnesses to leo yanking Betty around, she would get custody of Guillo in a heartbeat.

Elvira - Love your take on Cris's argument: "...how it's somehow okay for Big Angel to be cheek-to-jowl with Vicki everyday."

Also love the picks of Angel against Cris, Vickie, and KendraHo. That was a fun scene. Cute the way Angel diplomatically told the last two women to butt out of his bidness. And, lo and behold, Vickie and Cris actually exchanged a wink of solidarity.

Nice recap Elvira. Thanks Vivi for your change of heart re team Nikki-Guzmancin. I really think that age won't matter between the two of them. They have great fun together. And you can see the love between the two of them when they are having fun and laughing together. I still think that Nikki acts only spoiled and bratty as retaliation to anything thrown at her. deep inside she is good. So forgive me please Gringo, please don't give any ideas to the writers. I love team N/G. Can't you see, no matter how bratty she is, she is following Guzmancin's order and finally told her mom about her condition? (btw, I love the canapes she is devouring). I think that the Little Orchid is too naive and young for Guzmancin too. Maybe she could pair up with Nikki's tennis player?

First, thanks for all your prayers. I really believe that prayer helps. Carlos~~I appreciate that you consider my comments cheery and upbeat. I usually try to be positive. My blood pressure is up, and I am pretty sure that my son-in-law has a lot to do with that. The story is long and winding, just like our beloved telenovelas. Maybe I should send an outline to Televisa. As for calling the police on Lousy Leo, I wonder how quickly Mexican police are at responding to domestic abuse calls. Police who are friends have told me that those situations are often the ones in which those involved recant their charges or cops get hurt. My daughter's lawyer told her to call the police if ''he'' started drinking and being abusive, so one night, she finally called when he was drunk and wouldn't let her put the 5yr-old to bed. The police told her to leave with the kids . [They came here at 9.30 at night. She had to get the 2 yr old out of her crib. .] Then, the cops ''talked'' to him , and he remained in the house. As revenge, a few weeks later when Hub was getting the 5 yr old off the bus, our son-in-law arrived and called the cops after they had words. [Hub finally let loose...''Big man, intimidating a woman...etc''] The cops arrived quickly and told to stay in his car. Then, the cops talked to son-in-law, and then they came out and told Hub that they couldn't do anything because there still hadn't been a custody hearing. So...at least in the U.S. , there's really not much the police can do. Later, daughter got a pda and order to vacant the home. Right now, custody is being decided. Daughter has custody except he gets the girls every other weekend , and he takes them to dinner on Wed. In the summer, he'll get them for 2 weeks. It's almost impossible to get full custody in this state...even if one of the parents is in jail. I am learning a lot about divorce and custody laws. ...that I really did not want to know. PLEASE keep the prayers coming for my girls [Julianne, Janie, and Lily] and our family. Luckily, Hub and I only 6 miles away from them. I will be so grateful. I will try to keep watching Amor, and I'll just change channels when I see Leo's nasty face appear on the screen.~~~~Susanlynn, trying to think positively and be upbeat and cheery and look to the future

Hi Elvira

I don't watch this show, but just saw your funny "_____ dressed as Elvira (no, not me)" caption and that reminded me that I've been meaning to tell you and Vivi that I went to a wedding shower and we were talking about names. Both the mom and dad have V's in their names, so they hoped to stick with that theme. I told them that on my blog there is a Vivi and an Elvira and by dang, they named the baby ELVIRA-VIVIANA and are calling her VIVI!

Thanks, Elvira, I just now saw your update and the photos. Excellent.

I really enjoy Jocelyn. She reminds me of several women I've met over the years...fun-loving...she appeared pleased that Nelson seemed jealous of her and JA. Maybe she meant more to Nelson than she had previously thought...hmmmm.

Susanlynn, if you have a moment to spare, click on this and scroll down...so what became of that Post-It-Note?

Carlos

Sorry Susanlynn... click on this.

IMO, I don't think that Jocelyn meant that Nelson was jealous of Arriaga being with HER. She was taunting him that he was jealous of JA and Vicki. She had told Vicki to have a fling with JA as 'payback' to what Nelson did to her. To her 'girls gone wild' thinking, an eye for an eye and who cares who is married is perfectly okay. She doesn't want JA to fall in love with her. She simply sees him as a toy and doesn't mind sharing said toy with her best friend. She's a total nut. Why doesn't she seem as Ho-ish as the slutty one?

RlaO- That's great! LOL! My parents' names both start with V (and they have the same middle initial too). So when they were looking for a name for me it was important for them to find a V name. Now the three of us all have the same three initials (first, middle, last). :)

Hi all!

Carlos, I read your comment in reply to my post about Guzman and his wife not being able to communicate because of his bad english and you said "Well if she were a valley girl", I'm a valley girl, and I like can so totally communicate because I'm like totally awesome that way, k?

Ellie...

OK

I adore both Valley Girls and Fresas

you all have such a way with words

Carlos

Ellie: I'm a Valley Girl too! LOL.

Recap is all done, or as done as it's gonna get!

Susanlynn, I'll be definitely praying for your family. The more people pray, the better! That's how I feel about it anyway.

I'm glad Kend-ho didn't walk into anybody's oyster fork and pop! She has a great body as has been mentioned - I love her healthy curves, height and toned look. But the tanned melons coming out of their pods I didn't think was a good look.

Carlos~~~Wow...LOL...That comment was made a looooong time ago !!! I was upbeat and cheery, wasn't I ? What happened to that upbeat, cheery commentor??? What happened to that post-it note ? Remember when I signed every comment..''Susanlynn...followed by some pithy tag ??? Those were the good old days. Remember when I found the pirate-name generating site and we all took pirate names ? I must go looking for that post-it note and....my sense of humor and good cheer . That would be the best revenge against my own personal Lousy Leo, wouldn't it? Thanks, Carlos. I appreciate the reminder of better days and happier comments. I enjoyed the trip down Memory Lane. My new mantra is ''It is what it is...choose to be as happy as you can right now.'' p.s. Carlos~~Do you remember the debate we had about an actress in a past novela some time ago as to whether she was or wasn't naturally endowed ???? You said ''yes'' and I voted ''no.'' Well, concerning KendrHO, it is my belief that she or an admirer [Sunglasses???] paid for those puppies. What do you think ?

Elvira, really!!? What part of the Valley?

Born and raised in Glendale. (Which is on the edge of the Valley, so I hear.)

Ah ok, still a part of the valley! I'm in the Woodland Hills area which is smack in the middle of the Valley, raised but not born here.

I'm sorry for this off topic question. Is the actor that plays FF the same actor who played Valentina's father in STuD?

Susanlynn, sadly I can't offer the same certainty and support for Kendra that I had for the beautiful (and all natural) Gardenia.

Carlos

Sara- Yes. Guillermo Capetillo appeared in flashbacks and in the portrait of Valentina's parents in STuD. Funny thing is his younger brother (Eduardo Capetillo) was one of the characters in STuD (Horacio), and yet the two characters were not related in the tn.

Thank you, Vivi!

We haven't met Roy yet, but already I don't like him.

Carlos

OT: Vivi Said: "Mads- LFDD: Oh, Antolin was bad. Maybe there IS hope for Salsero!"

Slight correction Vivi, He caused Saul to have an accident which left him unable to walk for a while until his stepmother paid for his surgery. Fast forward to almost the end, He shot an killed Gordo in the forehead and shot Saul in his hand to let go of the gun , then shot both his kneecaps thus reinjuring his legs. He then left with Ivan's son after rescuing him from being kidnapped by Saul and Gordo. Much later, Saul committed suicide in prison by hanging himself.

BTW: Those of you who have never seen Eiza Gonzalez with curves and looking "healthy" check out this clip with pictures.

Here is the intro for Lola: Erase Una Vez.

This one is called Masoquismo

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0GJd-Y_G1Mw

She starred with some familiar people you guys know like Aaron Diaz, Violeta Isfel from Porque el Amor Manda, Atevete a Sonar, etc. Eddy Vilard from Amor Bravio, Zoraida Gomez from En Nombre del Amor, Grettel Valdez, Derrick James who I think is Nikki and Liliana's swimming coach. And others. I have followed Eiza's career since then and She can sing. Great looking young lady. :) She lost a lot of weight for her character Nikki who we all know is bulimic. I think Eiza has added some inches to her height even without the 6 inch heels. I do like her look in Loa better.

Ibarramedia

Thanks Ibarramedia. I knew he killed someone at the end. Both Gordo and Saul had been on his hit list. He did disfigure Saul, in addition to his leg issues-- remember the burns all over one side of his body from the accident Antolin caused (which was attempted murder).

Forgive me for being so late in telling you, Elvira -- this is a fabulous recap and the screen shots with captions (yours and the electronic ones) are a hoot. Thanks so much!

Two perhaps minority opinions to add:

1. Jocelyn, with her homophobic needling of Estéfano just moved from my Silly but Harmless list to my ... well to another list. Needless to say, I will be avoiding her table.

2. I know we have seen Jean Marie looking longingly at Estéfano. We have also seen Estéfano looking longingly at ... someone . Are we really sure it's Jean Marie. I'm not sure why but ...

It crossed my mind that Este may be in love with Vikki!

(This is probably so ridiculous that it is a good thing that I'm writing it too late for anyone to see it.) :-)
