Amor Bravío #147 (Uni 142) Fri 3/15/13 The Battle for Bulls’ Run, Round Two: Gussie’s a Goner

Capítulo 147

~~Parte 1~~

Luzma wants to give up her claim to Pablo for the sake of a love she cannot comply with.  So, amidst much soul-searching and serious sobbing, she unleashes the surrogate wife bomb on Mayalen who, at first, tries refusing Luzma’s ridiculous suggestion.

Rodolfo, meanwhile, notices how agitated the spousally abused Pablo is as he’s saddling his horse for himself for once.  Rod’s job is to saddle the horses for his dueños and cannot allow Pablo to injure himself (further) by improperly cinching the saddle and falling off in mid-angry gallop. When Pablo yells that he can do it himself,  Rod offers a bit of free marital counseling.   “--Please her [dar gusto] instead, and give her what she wants.  Whatever it is won’t last long [temporal= temporary, short duration] and she’ll get over it soon enough.”  (H-m-m-m, I don’t think being subjected to surrogate wife-hopping is exactly what ol’ Rod had in mind, though.)

“—But what if Pablo doesn’t want to or worse, what if he does get hooked on me?”  It’s gonna kill her when he realizes there are other women out there to choose from and finally is gone, Luzma sobs, but their marriage is not working and it isn’t his fault.  He shouldn’t have to suffer like this!  (How about just suggesting Luzma ask her psych to double her meds and double up on her therapy sessions instead?  Hmmm?) .  Maya weakens a bit and then finally relents.  “—Are you sure this is what you want?”  Yup, assures Luzma.  She tells Luzma to count on her support then.  (Something tells me it’s more like inside she’s thinking, “--Just point the way and lemme at ‘im!”)

Since Mariano went with Camila to buy cattle instead of taking Hipolito, Piedad suggests that Sra. Camila really is trying to forget Don Daniel.  Hipo asks Piedad if she really [a poco] thinks that Camila might end up with Mariano.  Pie answers that Cam doesn’t seem to be in love with him, but that she might give him and “it” a chance.  As long as she’s happy with one or the other of them, and is as happy as she is.  Oh?  Pie is apparently very high on Hipo after last night’s bedroom bonanza.  As for Hipo, he’s hooked on Pie and would love some more nooky from the cookie.  FF>>

As for Rafael, the day has come to remove his bandages.  He tells Viviana and Ramon that it’s times like these that makes one appreciate what he has.  Not being able to move without another’s assistance is extremely exasperating and distressing [desesperante].  Family-style chatter ensues about Ramon’s reading with voices and what happens when he returns to the orphanage and isn’t there to read to Rafa.   FF>>

Back at Daniel and Miriam’s new digs in town, Teresa and Dante arrive just as Dan and fam do.  While Mir makes coffee for them all, Dante tells Dan he’s got something to tell him before she gets back.  Dante informs him that he found out from a friend back in Chile that Abe’s doing time in Chile after turning himself in for his abuse of his office.  This is the first Dan’s heard of it and he wonders how Abe managed to get the vaccine to save him and the cows.   Dante figures it was Gaston who organized things but that Abe called all the shots and pulled all the necessary strings.   He hopes the guy gets out soon.   Tere sniffs and says she figures he did the crime and deserves to do the time!  (Viewerville heartily agrees!) Dante says unfortunately, as for Dioniso’s attempt on Dan’s life, they will have to seek to put him on trial [enjuiciar] in Chile since that’s where the murder attempt was.

Dan says something about Dio being tried in one place or the other, but Abe’s got to be set free and soon.  Mir overhears about someone being set free from jail and has to ask him a couple of times before she finally loses her temper at being totally ignored.  He says fine, but to calm down first and then he’ll tell her.    Dan and Dante have got some ‘splainin’ to do!  Together they fill Mir in about how Abe turned himself in for throwing Dan in jail under false charges and leaving him there without the benefit of a trial.  She’s upset and grabs her forehead.  Dan is worried about how she’s taking it and how she’s feeling.

Mir yells back how do you think she’d feel finding out news like this?  (Yup. My head's been aching, too!  Every few hours now, it seems, Mir gets hit with more morsels of manure, stuff that she should have known about already!  Sure she’s upset!)  Dante continues, explaining how Abe took back a whole file of evidence from Mexico with him but didn’t feel worthy of continuing to pursue it from his position after the criminal negligence he was guilty of.  If he didn’t tell his sister about any of this, adds Dan, it was surely to avoid precisely the pain and emotional distress she’s suffering now.  However, now that she’s heard them, there’s no further reason to continue hiding it from her.  Miriam looks at Dan and frowns at him.  She’s too much of a lady, but it’s obvious what she’s thinking: “NO SHIT, SHERLOCK!”

Dan again asks if Mir is all right and suggests she calm down a bit.  Tere offers to call a doctor for her.  Mir flies off the handle at this point and says of course she’d be upset, that hers is a perfectly normal response!  She doesn’t appreciate the way they’re treating her, either, as if any bad news will kill her!  As far as she’s concerned they are the ones who need to calm down!

Dionisio, no longer Mr. Nice Guy, is all done dumpster diving with the aggravating Agustina.  After watching his secret security tapes of her eavesdropping at his office door from the hallway, he takes her cell phone and pretending to be Gussie, answers Cam’s message about their buying some cattle today and being away. “—‘Don’t worry about me.  Have a nice time there.’ ” Then he  decides to call the cops on Gussie for fraud to get her out of the way—and, in Viewerville’s opinion, to destroy her credibility with the authorities and her friends and family.  “—The pension plans she sold, like the one she sold to Sra. Gladys Beltran who just died, were written up as an employee of The Better Future Company, but she’s not registered as an employee there.  That means those plans are all worthless and that’s fraud.  Soon you’ll be receiving an envelope with documentation necessary to show she’s a thief and that she’s been stealing from a lot of people!”   Click!  “--Now, Agustina, you dared to challenge me and you are going to end up in jail for it!  My, what awaits you!”

~~ Parte 2 ~~

La Malquerida de Gussie makes her way to the namesake ranch and enters the living room of the hacienda where Piedad finds her.  Gussie finds out that Cam has left with Mariano to buy some replacement cattle at some auction.  So, Gussie makes a hurried call to Osvaldo and tearfully begs him to rush over for a rundown of the real behind the scenes details from last night’s proposal dinner when she turned up MIA during dessert.

Still holed up in his office, Dio tells himself that the torture of having Gussie for a wife, the stupid, boring fool, is finally at an end, but that thanks to this sacrifice he’s going to get all of what he wants.  He dials Issa.

Issa it being introduced to the staff as El Cayó’s new missus.  What she says is law there now.  He excuses himself to go to the bedroom and rest up and Issa says she’ll bring him something to eat [algo de comer].  Issa takes the opportunity to return Dio’s call.  He informs her about Gussie’s Great Escape from the townhouse. By now she is certain to be at the M.Q.  Hissadora has a hissy fit thinking Dio’s lost control of Lady Gullible and that the first thing she’s sure to do is blab to El Tonto de Caye and all the others about catching the two of them in mid-tongue-swallow!  Dio assures Hissa that he’s still got a couple of aces up his sleeve to play and says that he’s just played one of them. She’ll be on her way to jail soon, he says, and once that happens she and Cam will have to do whatever he demands of them.  He’s only called to make sure she knows what’s happened and prevents Gussie from getting anywhere near Caye.  “—Hurry up with that little hubby of yours.  It’s urgent that I put an end to this business.”

Meanwhile, Cam and Mar are on their way to Pasteje.  She’s still in a blue funk.  She mentions how glad she is that Mar’s been with her through thick and thin the past few years.  He smiles and says he intends to keep it that way also.  Life’s a bitch, she says, and until Dio is finally sent off to prison for life, she doesn’t see her outlook changing much.  The things that have gone on at the M.Q., she tells him, have nearly killed her and she thinks it’s time she leaves the place, as much as she loves it.  He tells her he never thought to hear that from her.  “—Despair is a bad counselor, Camila.”  Mar tells her to wait a bit to see how things shake out and then perhaps they could even start a business together.  She tells him that’s an impossibility until she can get her emotional act together.  Well, he hopes to be there to share it with her.

Os and Amanda show up at La Malquerida to get the latest on Gussie’s lowdown devil of a hubby.  She tells them in detail how she walked in on a major lip locking session between the hubby and Issa and how afterwards diabolical Dio hog-tied her to the bed during dessert at the proposal dinner to keep her from telling the others and making a scene.  They compare notes with his lying about her suffering a blood pressure problem and Amanda’s overhearing Dionisio screaming at Omar about Judith unlocking the bedroom door without his permission and Gussie’s getting loose and getting away while she was on the phone with him .

Gussie admits that Amanda was right about Dionisio and that she’s consumed with rage over the whole thing, especially with herself because he’d been fooling her for a long time and she’d refused to believe it; the evidence was right under her nose!  She thinks back to the first time at Dio’s townhouse when she discovered Issa and Dio together and the two of them played her by Issa's pretending to be there helping him plan a special surprise dinner for her.  She let it go because she was so excited about going with him that day to sign the papers that set up the retirement fund partnership.  Os says that regarding those retirement fund plans, they really probably should examine them for legitimacy sake.  Gussie agrees and says they could expect just about anything from the man at this point.

Gussie adds that he still has that black briefcase, and that he must still carry in it the numerous false passports and other documents with his fingerprints on them that are needed to prove he’s guilty.  He locks it away in the cabinet [mueble = furniture, movable furniture, piece of furniture, cabinet] she says, but she did manage to overhear the combination for it.  She repeats it for them.  (Viewerville nervously wonders if Os thought to write it down for later.)  The others ask if Cam knows anything about what happened.  Gussies says no because she arrived back at the M.Q. after Cam had already gone.   Well, says Os, she texted him to take care of her while she’s away today.  They’re worried because they don’t know how Dio will take this and if Cam won’t also now be in danger.

Back at Dan’s, Mir’s going through nuclear meltdown.  She’s tired of the secrets.  Dan gets a bit miffed himself and says hey, they’d have told her eventually.  She apologizes and backs down.  She needs to see Abe and wants fly to Chile to see him she says.  She could go and come back in only a few days, she insists.  Not until he knows she’s found out he’s there in jail, says Dante.

In the living room of the M.Q. again, the three of them are thinking it would be a good idea to let Caye know that Issa’s been cuckolding him with Dio all this time.  Gussie isn’t sure, tho’, that he would even listen.  “—Issa’s very cunning [habil=skilled, crafty, clever] and probably has him as controlled as Dionisio had me.”  They decide to do an end run around Issa (Yay!  Somebody’s finally got their thinking cap on!)  and to ask Mariano to give his daddy the news for them and tell him he can verify it with Gussie if he doesn’t believe Mar.  In the meantime they need to figure out a way to get that briefcase out of Dio’s house, they agree.  (Omar, are you listening?)

~~end Part 2~~
======================

~~Part 3~~

Amanda asks Gussie if she is planning on mentioning any of this to Daniel since he’s as eager as anyone to see that Dio goes to jail and pays for all the harm he’s caused him as well.  Gussie says of course and Osvaldo says he’ll call him.  Dan’s necessary to their plans for the briefcase heist apparently.  Gussie says she still has a set of townhouse keys from the time they moved there after thinking they’d lost ownership of the M.Q. to Issa.   Os says that should be a big help and adds as an afterthought that he doesn’t really like playing dirty but with Dionisio you got to fight fire with fire!  [jugar con las mismas cartas = lit. play with the same cards]

At the prison, Leoncio is working as a janitor in the kitchen, picking up slops.  He has a discussion over the times they have to have the garbage cans ready to empty and hears from the supervising prisoner that the trash truck passes by the kitchen daily after noontime.

Dan gets the call from Osvaldo and tells the group at the table that Gussie finally found out about Issa and Dio’s dalliance and ran out on him and over to the M.Q.  “—I already knew about it, but for her it probably hit her pretty hard.”  Mir asks why she called Dan of all people.  He mumbles something about having some proof now that might help put Dio behind bars.  By all means then go, says Mir.  “--I of all people have a real desire to see him put away for life!   Every rotten thing that’s happened to us can be laid at his doorstep!  Because of his villainy [maldad] I was in a coma and you and now Abraham in jail!  If he had never come into our lives none of this would have ever happened to us!”  [Hallelujah! And say Amen!]

Tere says while Dan’s at the M.Q. she’ll be checking in with Juarez.  She may also have to travel back to Chile cuz she has a feeling that with Abe in jail the case against Dio probably isn’t being followed up on as well as it ought to be.  Dante says he’ll be heading back there with her to give her a hand then if that’s the case.  In the meantime tho’, he’s staying to look after Mir and Aggie while they’re off doing their thing.

Meanwhile, for once Illy sticks her nose in where it’s not wanted and it’s a good thing.  She watches Issa put the drops into Cayetonto’s tea and wants to know what she just put into his cup.  Issa lies that they’re for his blood pressure (yeah, to lower it to zero!).  Illy says she knows he doesn’t have a blood pressure problem and really doesn’t take any medicines at all.  “—So who asked you?  And just who are you to question me about Cayetano’s health, anyway?”   Illy says she’s lived there quite a while now.  Yeah, says Issa, as a freeloader!  No, as a favor to my daddy, replies Illy.  Whatever, says Issa arrogantly.  “--You’re not his friend and anyway, haven’t you heard that death and mooching house guests (arrimado) smell after three days?”  “—I will not allow you to insult me!”  “—Oh, you won’t, Princess?”  “—No.”  “--Just what are you thinking, eh?  This is my house and I’ll say whatever the heck I care to!”   “—Are you throwing me out?”  Issa raises a well plucked brow and smiles contemptibly at her. “—Ah, you are not fool—a freeloader yes, but a fool no!  Pack your bags pretty girl and now, excuse me.”  Issa goes to bring El Tonto his tea tray.

Back in the kitchen of the M.Q., Pie tells Hipo what she overheard about Sr. Dio and Sra. Issa.  They agree that he is the Devil incarnate and loves to hurt anyone and everyone he’s around.

Illy has gone looking for Yago to whine at him to save her.  He could care less and actually agrees with his dad’s new wife about Illy as a freeloading pest and tells her pretty much not to let the door hit her where the good lord split ‘er!

In the meantime over at the prison, Aaron is trying to persuade Leoncerdo against fighting with other inmates.  Aaron says he convinced the warden he could get Leoncerdo to promise to behave.  Leo scribbles a note to Aaron that that woman has to pay for what she’s done.   He says he knows Leo’s frustrated about Issa getting off without a hitch but it won’t get him a thing other than more time in solitary confinement.  Best to use his energy for learning.  Leo stares angrily back at Aaron through the glass partition and thinks to himself that if the law can’t do anything, well then, a bit of vigilante justice is in order.

Back again in the living room at the M.Q., Gussie is confessing to Os and Amanda that she treated Dan unfairly all this time out of jealousy towards his mother and her relationship with her BIL.  Dan isn’t to blame for that.  It was her wounded pride was all.  The others commiserate and remind her that Dan is too nice a guy to hold a grudge.  Well, it’s a shame he and Cam aren’t together anymore, she admits, because the only time Cam was truly happy was with Daniel.  Just then Dan walks in and gives Gussie a big hug.  “—What happened?”  “—I discovered Dionisio and Isadora, and the rotten cad left me locked up and bound in the bedroom so that I couldn’t tell anybody anything!” “—What a sleazeball!” “—Yes, and the worst of it was that it was last night, right under our noses, during Natalia’s proposal dinner!!”

Amanda acknowledges then that she and Os agreed to go to that dinner but didn’t think to tell Dan because he’d been through so much by then and was so worn out by it all.  Dan turns back to Gussie and consoles her.   Well, he admits, he already knew, even before she and he got married; that it was about the time he started working there that the two of them were involved.  Gussie’s knees are about to go out from under her.  “--That long ago?  He’s been deceiving me since then??  Why didn’t you tell me so?”  (Cuz you wouldn’t put your listening ears on long enough! That’s why!!)  Dan tells her he wanted to many times, but she wasn’t about to listen….

Over at the BV, Issa leaves the tray and doctored tea with hubby Caye.  Illy races in afterwards and whines to him now about Issa throwing her out.  El Cayó tells Illy that Issa is right and he agrees that she has a family and belongs with her own parents.  Illy can’t understand why he’s acting so strangely.  “—She’s giving you something that’s taken away your will!”  He insists he’s fine and just wants to be left alone to rest now.

Cam and Mar have found a good batch of bulls and she’s just agreed to buy them off some rancher who considers it a feather in his cap.  FF>>

Back at the M.Q., Dan asks Gussie if she’s sure that Dio’s passports are kept in the briefcase.  Gussie says absolutely, and that she saw him put away the case in his drawer. Just then Juarez arrives with his men and a pair of handcuffs. He apologizes for the interruption, ”--but the law is the law and I must do my duty.”  He explains about the complaint regarding the phony pension funds, puts the handcuffs on her, and then announces she’s being arrested for fraud.

Is Gussie really a goner?

I have to leave at 1 for some party prep, so I'll come in here for a few comments.

It was a bone-headed move on Augustina's part to call the devil out on his adultery with the Black Widow, which does not justify what he did to her afterward. He is clearly slipshod in his management if Omar didn't have direct orders to prevent her from leaving the house in the first place. She should think about the missing cell phone.

I'm dying to know what that convo was between Luz and NG.

Nanette - The Luz-NG convo was what we all feared it would be. Luzma got NG to admit she is attracted to Pablo and to go for it, since Luzma herself can't be a total woman for him. NG said okay.

Luzma, Luzma! What were you thinking? That kind of so-called selfless love is completely ridiculous. I can't imagine a man in word who would believe in her love after doing something like this....except, perhaps, Pablo who loves her muchisimo. Like many of you have said, why not see the therapist together?

As for Agustina, I had faith she could be a little more suave with her intent to bring out the truth about Dio, but I agree, UA, that confronting him and Isa head on was utterly estupida. So glad Dan was there for her.

Luzma...another Blockhead.
New Girl...a very STUPID story line; stupid.

Why do the writers do this? Honestly, this is enough to make one want to throw a shoe at the blasted TV.

Such a well written story now resorts to this stupidity at this point in the story?!?

Stupidity. That all I can say. Stupidity. I also can't decide whose face I'd like to slap more...Natalia's or Luzma's (and, no, I am not insensitive to her significant issues).

What utter frustration.
Fatima

i meant "a man in the world"....

Agree about Luzma, and I hate this kind of story line too. But Pablo has acted as a champ so far, I'm betting he doesn't let us down.

We knew Aggie was going to end up in jail for a while. She did commit fraud, so I wonder how she will get out. Even if Camila can come up with the money to pay back the investors, she is still guilty and would have to serve time.

After wanting Bratgirl to leave the entire show, now I'm mad that she has to go. Tell someone about the drops before you're gone, please.

Looking forward to the recap later Jardinera.

Has there really been a storyline in another tn where the wife asks someone else to seduce her husband away? I can't remember one. In any case, I think this shows Luzma's complete lack of understanding of the depth of Pablo's love for her, and for that reason I am disappointed in her. Fine, if she feels she needs to separate from him to get herself together. And fine, if she doesn't expect him to wait for her. But purposely trying to get him to fall into bed with another woman right after she dumped him, is just insulting. I hope Pablo gets royally pissed at her when he finds out. And no, he will not fall to the temptation.

Just so that I am clear...are we discussing things we should not be discussing given that the recap is not up, yet? If so, will just close it up for now and wait. Thanks.

Fatima

Vivi in DC, I am absolutely, totally, 100% in agreement with your comments wrt Luzma!! THANK YOU!!

Fatima

Don't worry Fatima, it's ok to discuss. I think the rule is, you just can't post word for word convo from another site.

And no spoilers if you know what happens in the next episode.

Vivi, the only thing I can think of that even comes close was in La Esposa Virgen when Blanca virtually gave her husband to Virginia before she died. She didn't want him and their daughter to feel abandoned after her death. Virginia was all kinds of impactada for several reasons.

Luzma may be too young to understand the depth of Pablo's love for her and he is very mature for his age to feel the way he does.

Yes, insulting is the right word for what Luzma is proposing. He's not a piece of property....or some puppy, as Carlos pointed out a few days ago....that she needs to make arrangements for.

As for Ileana, I'm hoping too she divulges her knowledge of the drops. She is a force to be reckoned with, and I'd love to see more clashes between her and Isa.

Vivi completely agreed with you re Luzma and also her unilateral decision underlines her immaturity and her trust in Pablo's love for her. What Luzma did is not new for her; she's always ready to call her relationship off with the minor provocation -- remember the beginning ....

Thank you, Variopinta! Just wanted to make sure. :)

Renata 770, good point about this type of reaction/response not being new to Luzma. Piedad seems like a good mother (except when she was so ready to defend/support Leo, but...she had her eyes opened), why hasn't Luzma gone to her for help and support? What is it about Luzma that she feels she always has to just "give up" (again, not talking about her post trauma issues). Why does she think she doesn't deserve happiness and light?

Fatima

Ileana make yourself useful:

1. Steal those drops.

2. Bring them to Mariano not useless Yago.

2. Get out of there while you can.

ITA w mi vecina Vivi--so disappointing, Luzma. And I almost laughed out loud when NG ultimately said "count on me!". It's not like Luzma asked her for a ride to the airport or to pick up her shift at work!!!!?

If Augustina is the worst spy in the world, Bratgirl is the worst villain!!! We've been waiting this whole show for her to do something other than listen at doors or make minor threats and now she's finally got the PROOF to bust Issa and she blows not one, but two chances to nail her!!! Yago could care less if Ileanas kicked off the ranch but he MIGHT care that she saw her putting mysterious drops in his drink! Bratgirl was savvy enough to call out Issa but then clams up around Caye and Yago? Come on, girl! Nows your chance to score points with Yago!!! Think like a true villainess in training!!!

Lastly, I'm thinking if I'd been tied up all night, bound and gagged, and narrowly escaped with my life, I might run to the police, not home for a change of clothes and tea!? Am I being too critical today? I love this show!:)

Loved your recap, part 1, Jardinera! Thank you!

Katy

Katy, since Bratgirl has told so many lies and started the ball rolling on Leoncerdo raping Luzma, do you think Iagho would trust her to be honest about what's going on with Hissadora?

Yago should be interested in those drops, if only to know how he can use the situation to his benefit. No way is Bratgirl going to keep quiet about this though. Hissy would have been much better off with her as an ally than an enemy.

Augustina might be better off in jail for a bit. Safer than being out on the street where she can be killed before telling that super secret briefcase code. And she could file a counter complain about the whole tied up on the floor thing.

Side note: Mariachi opera tonight! "Cruzar la Cara de la Luna" with Mariachi Vargas. Like a musical telenovela! I got some Vicente Fernandez music from the library to help get in the mood.

Kelly

Jardinera,

Great start, as always. You certainly channel this member of viewerville's reactions well.

I am a bit worried about Rafa's vision still. The visit to the doctor's office has now spanned two episodes, with lots of talk about how he needs to be able to read and write.

And, though I must echo the comments of others that Roman is not a terribly endearing child. Have raised two loud and rowdy boys who did eventually turn into sweet and thoughtful men, I think it takes a lot to love a child at that age and give Rafa, Vivi and the PSA-lovin' writers kudos for pushing the story line. Unfortunately, it isn't as compelling as some others have been!

Oh, Luzma and NG. It's all been said. The contrast between Luzma's lack of marital intimacy and Hipolito's and Piedad's has to mean something -- another reason that I'm betting on mom and new papa to play a major role in resolving this crisis and not in a good way for Leo. Why can't this be more of a PSA moment, with emphasis on therapy, meds, couples counseling . . . whatever, other than surrogacy?

Really, given Miriam's ability to absorb more and more information about the maleantes in Mexico and to remain standing, smiling and baking cookies, why aren't her friends suggesting a second opinion? It's so clear that there isn't a thing wrong with her, she's been to a local neurologist, etc. Her friends are educated people, but then, so are the many folks trying to help Luzma.

Beanie-tightening time as we await anvils to drop and hope that the good guys to meet good fates.

Fatima: re: "Such a well written story now resorts to this stupidity at this point in the story?!?"

There's no story line possible that will please everyone of the hundreds of addicts tuned in to this tn. Some of us will see all things we dislike as bad writing. Others of us will see the same things as great or entertaining.

It's not just you, it happens over and over. It's common for viewers to blame the writers when it comes to something they don't agree with. As a result, we're all stress out as the writers head to the bank.

Openminded, I've learned a long time ago not to get stressed out about anything that happens from years of watching soaps. This is my first TN, and although I'm very involved and never miss an episode (thanks to DVR), for me none of it is really upsetting for me. It's exasperating, but I couldn't get stressed out about it since it's all fiction.

Jardinera- Only have time for a quick read before heading out, but I love your recap so far. Hopefully, when I get back the last part will be up and I can savor the whole thing more slowly.

Traveling Lady- I think we can be 99.9% sure that the writers will make the surrogacy plan a huge failure, and will show in the end that only time, therapy, patience, and determination will be what works for Luzma and Pablo. PSA mission accomplished.

I laughed out loud when Dan, Dante and Tere's eyes got super wide the more upset Miriam got, like she was a time bomb about to explode, and that when they told her to calm down she snapped back that they're the ones who need to calm the hell down! LOL!

Two more secrets from Miriam down: 1) Abe is jail; and 2) Dio was behind her murder attempt and is a demon out to steal, murder and create mayhem. (They had downplayed Cami's problem with him as more of a family dispute.) Only two more secrets from Miriam to go: 1) They all believe she has an aneurism that could pop at any moment; and 2) Dan and Cam are in love and MARRIED (sort of).

Anita- You asked the other day, why no talk of divorce between Cam and Dan. Do they need a divorce if their marriage was never legal to begin with?

I didn't realize Dio had surveillance
in his house. That will catch whoever goes in to steal the briefcase or the contents.

We don't have time for a lot of nonsense between Mayelen & Pablo.

Thanks Jardinera for the time and effort you always take to give us a top notch weekend entertainment.

I'm at a loss of words for Luz's proposal to NG. My guess is that NG is going to spill the beans to Pablo that she has Luz's blessing to seduce him. Pablo in turn will confront Luz with the info and use it to re-affirm his undying love for her. She'll resist and he'll continue to beg and plead until the last 2 or 3 episodes when she'll finally see the light and the 2 will live happily ever after. (Is it obvious that this subplot hasn't been the most exciting for me)?

Isa can always claim that the drops are viagra drops.

Jardinera, muchas gracias. You made my Saturday. I've got to work all this weekend (at home, but still...) and this gives me a much-needed reason to sit down and enjoy myself for a few minutes, especially since you dole out the treats piecemeal. Yummy. Always love your language: "...Hipo, he’s hooked on Pie and would love some more nooky from the cookie."

When have we ever seen a bandage-removing scene that went well (the first time anyway)? I hope we don't have to go down that path with Rafa. He's already learned his lesson about depending on the help of others. Do we really need another protracted tragedy? As for Roman and the voices? Puh-leeze! What is that all about? Why would they write such a role for a child whose ONLY voice is a raucous mess.

I don't want to get into the Luzma thing. I agree with Fatima, it's a weak device at this point in an otherwise excellent script. I think a more realistic tack would be for her to get seriously depressed and possibly suicidal. Either way, they are showing us that a sweet, wonderful (albeit passive-aggressive) girl has been dangerously harmed by violence, and that she needs more focused care. But that idiocy with NG is just not believable.

Miriam is starting to show some spunk and maybe, despite everything we've been led to believe about the false diagnosis, she really does have a ticking time bomb in her head. I can't get the possibility out of my mind, although I would love to see her stick around to make pobre de Mariano happy.

The thing with Miriam and the aneurism is that it's not like it makes her weak or anything. She would be acting normal and strong before it breaks or moves. But the doctor told Dan that anything stressful could cause it to do that. And that's the reason to keep her from stressing out about anything.

Open minded- the thing that bothers most of us with TNs is the implausibility of the plots and character reactions. We may not like that Leon raped Luzma, but none of us have complained that it's unrealistic. My complaints with certain TNs usually have to do with how a character unrealistically reacts to something, or naively believes someone when there has been proof over proof that the person has been lying. This TN has been the best I've seen to having the characters acting in a way that the rest of us would react in the same situation, even when the situation is over the top to begin with.

Openminded, I am not stressed, but I sure do enjoy blowing off steam!! Nor do I expect a story to please me in all its aspects. However, the writers have shown us that they are skilled and very good at writing, so it really makes no sense to pull this stunt at this point. I don't really care what they take to the bank, just don't mess with a good story line (and that's my beef)!! LOL!

Fatima (smiling while she's enjoying blowing off the steam!)

Thanks for the recap, J.

I agree with the opinion that Luzma asking NG to fill in is a dumb story line.

Let's focus on nailing the bad guys in the last few episodes.

Cindy

Jar, as always, love your recaps. So glad I still have another part to look forward to.

Loved--Surrogate wife bomb (never would have thought of putting those three words together)

Just point the way and lemme at 'im (I can just see her plotting in her filmy little nighty night of a sky blue, see-through, shorty short dress that matched the blue of the tiles on the fountain--kudos to wardrobe-Not)

Bedroom bonanza (Just what Piedad needed after so many years, no? Hope Hip was up to more than once.)

Tere sniffs (she does have that look freeze-dried on her face)

Gussie coming home to change her clothes and have tea after being encerrada all night and barely making it out alive (I hadn't thought that, but of course, you're right and that's sooo funny.)

CARLOS--Just for you--did you and everybody else see Dan's no-no, please, no cardigan over the shoulders? (Again wardrobe wasn't thinking. Maybe the fact that it was a sweat shirt with extra long sleeves was ok--Not.) Dan didn't look very comfortable in it.

Oh, and about the surrogate wife bomb. ITA with everyone's comments on Luzma. I'm also thinking that she wants to make all the arrangements for him, somehow to keep things under her control--she can keep an eye on things. It would hurt her too much to have him roaming on the loose after she separates and moves back to her single room.

This storyline, although entirely too late in being introduced in AB, is a little reminiscent of the Old Testament Abraham and Sarah, who gives him Hagar to sleep with because she can't have children. Everything ends well, they both have children and live happily ever after. Can't see a threesome with Pablo, though.

Though Ileana caught Issa placing drops in Cayetanos tea, the only reason I could think of that she may not say anything is cuz she's not 100% sure if there good or bad and since Issa didn't show any signs to be worried when she got caught that may make Ileana doubt even more.

Now if Ileana continues in Buena Aventura she will undoubtedly get more incriminating evidence against Issa. I hope she's smart and stays.

Nanette – Avatar change? sneaky.

Anita, I love comparisons to literature and history. The Sarah/Abraham/Hagar situation is fascinating. Finding historical allusions in stories as "cheesy"—if you'll pardon me for saying it—as telenovelas is a bit of an obsession with me. It makes me look both ways: to see Sarah, for instance, in modern terms, as well as vice-versa, to see Luzma in classical terms. It adds weight to the sometimes thin plots we wade through. The parallels are never exact; in this case, I think Sarah's desperation was the lack of offspring which turned out to be any fertility expert's prediction (despite her advanced biblical age); once she relaxed and solved the problem with a surrogate, she became pregnant herself. Poor Luzma would probably be better served just to let Pablo do what comes naturally, even if it involves prostitutes rather than set him up in an awkward relationship they would all eventually regret. Thanks for suggesting this. Made me think!

Re: Luz and the surrogate wife bomb.
One thing I've learned from watching years of TNs, is not to assume an outcome just because the writers threw in a monkey wrench. I still believe that NG is not going to seduce Pablo because: 1) she has been shot down once/twice already; 2) she has seen how much he loves Luz.

I still think she will instead do something to help them.

And now that Bratgirl has a chance to be USEFUL, i.e., tell the bros about the drops, instead she goes crying to Yago and Caye about her patinas being thrown to el calle. I had such hopes for her redemption.

Thanks Jardinera for a great recap in partes.

But my favorite part from last night was how sweet Dan was to Auggie when she was asking perdon.

I feel bad now that I ragged on her so often.

Thank you, Jardinera for parts 1 and 2 and am looking forward to part 3. You never disappoint!

I think Miriam snapping at Dan and Dante that her reaction was perfectly normal and they were the ones who needed to calm the hell down was my all time favorite Miriam moment. I’d like her a lot more if she acted like that a lot more. Not the being angry part, but I’d like her to get real more often. (I couldn’t help but notice that her reaction to the news of Abe in jail and Dio headed that way soon, god willing, was classic Miriam: me me me. Almost immediately after learning this, she goes off with, wow, what is the deal with all of a sudden all these people I know going to jail? Not about how awful it must be to be in jail. Me. It’s all about me with this girl.)

I can’t believe that Dan’s plan is to keep Miriam from any source of stress without ever telling her why. That just wouldn’t be possible, and anyone would start to get pretty PO-ed pretty quickly if they were constantly being told to calm down. Miriam is an adult. She has a right to know about her own health. She also has a right to know that she may not live much longer. In this country, it wouldn’t even be legal to tell her diagnosis to her husband and Dante and not to her. And as a practical matter, wouldn’t it work a lot better to have her understanding the concern and the need to avoid stress? Then she could work toward that goal herself. I’ve known people who had to manage health problems and have made remarkable changes in their lifestyles, stress levels, and even in their personalities. I had a family member with terminal cancer who miraculously managed to live for years longer than expected and who made huge changes. She was always wonderful, but in her last years, she opened up emotionally and lived in the moment so much. She became even more wonderful. Miriam has that right to know that any day could be her last.

However, since she doesn’t really have a life-threatening condition, how many times are these dimwits going to see her react to bad news and not drop dead before they realize they’ve been had? Or that they really need a second opinion? Or that they should take a look on the google machine and see that her condition is operable? Or get some marriage counseling forpetessake and learn a bit about how lying will destroy intimacy and poison any relationship. Bad news is not inherently stressful. If Miriam really had an aneurysm and Dan really were going to stay with her, they could learn communication techniques that would be honest and minimize stress. In the long run, it would be much better for her health and for their marriage.

I think the writing in this TN was better for the first part, the part that was a remake of a previous TN (sorry, can’t remember the name) and that ended with Dan-n-Cam’s wedding. I think the whole return of Miriam and a lot of what has gone on since that point has been a lot weaker and a lot of it seems like fill. Just my take. I am certainly enjoying the whole shebang, though, and overall have no complaints. It’s been a ton of fun.

Forgot to say how much I love the title!!

Thanks for parts one and two Jardinera.

Audrey - I think Gussie is a goner in jail not death.

ITA w/the comments on Luzma. I think depression would have been a stronger plotline than NG as surrogate.

Anita - Sarah/Abraham/Hagar did NOT end happily ever after in regard to relationship between the three. First Sarah booted Hagar out after the latter became pregnant. Hagar returned and had to make nice with Sarah. Then Sarah kicked them out again when Ishmael was mocking Issac and they NEVER return to Abraham.

Karen--my Bible history is in the remote past. I only remember that they didn't die and their kids grew up to be Ishmael and Isaac, no?

Whatever happened to the medical 2nd opinion for Miriam???????????????

Yes Anita that's right the kids did grow up but unfortunately Issac and Ismael's descendants don't really get along today.

Thank you Karen, my bible history is so warped, skewed and half-forgotten it's become like a foggy mythology. And thank you Anita for bringing it up in the first place. I guess threesomes are not the best plan.

Thanks for a fab recap so far Jardinera!
Anita, good point about biblical history.
As much as we may hate the "surrogate wife bomb," it is not as far-fetched as many might think. I've seen versions of this in real life.

Dan's been at death's door for a while; he just got back on his feet since the virus and just went back to Aculco with Miriam--- remember the virus happens the same day that Dan got the news about Miriam's fake illness

... So Dan will get on the second opinion bandwagon when he's got some free time from playing heroe to the rescue for Augustina, dodging Miriam's increasing concerns and brooding over his loss of Cam .... Who knows? Miriam is not his priority as much as he claims it to be...

I LIKE the 'surrogate wife bomb' thread .... NOTTTT!!! jk

The thing with Roman and the reading voices, I think, was written before the writers really knew the caliber of child actor they had on their hands. I believe it was meant to enhance the story of how, when Vivi and Rafa first started reading to the orphans, they (the orphans) became more interested in books, reading and learning by how they (Vivi/Rafa) brought the books to life, changing voices and adding actions to their reading. That Roman is now "reading with voices" is meant to show that his love for reading (and learning) has grown by leaps and bounds. Too bad the actor couldn't handle the role and now the writers/director are stuck with what they have - an annoying little kid whose 'voices' are just slightly different levels of monotone noise. :-)

Soyyo

I'm loving the recap, Jardinera, parts I&II are superb and I'm enjoying a lovely pre-Spring day here on the patio with a dryish martini.

What I'm not enjoying is Luzma's distracting idiotic solution to her marital distress. I'm not quite sure whom she is showing the most disrespect for...Pablo or New Girl.

Agnes,

"I think a more realistic tack would be for her to get seriously depressed and possibly suicidal.

If you think back, you'll recall that she's already pursued that option down by the pond.

Anita,

I admit that I cracked up when I saw those dangling sleeves. At least he could have done the alpha thing and knotted it loosely around his neck.

Carlos

Dan was playing with that sweater the whole episode. He was wearing it when he kissed Cam. Must have gotten hot after that kiss, because by the time he and Miriam got in the truck to leave, he had it off and thrown over one shoulder in a very manly way, which was MUCH better than the over both shoulders/dangling sleeves look he had later. LOL!

As annoyed with Luzma as I was, I did find it funny when she said to Mayalen, “I know you like Pablo…as a MAN. Don’t deny it.” And Mayalen got all flustered, playing with her hair and trying to play it off. No New Girl- you are not slick. We all know what you’re after.

Carlos- Thanks for bringing up that we already saw Luzma go through her depressed/suicidal phase. We really couldn’t have gone through the whole tn with her like that, so I guess this is a natural progression.

I like the PabLuz couple and both of the characters, so I do want to see a good end for them.

Vivi,

You've never really trusted New Girl, have you?

Carlos

Carlos- Nope. She had my radar up from the very first pop-eyed look she gave Pablo when he first told her he was getting married after he interviewed her for the job. :)

I think I'm the only one sticking up (sort of) for NG. I really think she is going to help and not hurt.

But hey if I am wrong, I will drink a toast to ViviDC and Carlos and to hell with waiting for the bulls to run!

Myo/Renata, I think an additional problem is that Camila isn't really that much of a priority for Dan. It was this fake diagnosis for Miriam that put an end to any hopes that Dan-n-Cam had to be together, so not getting it verified seems to me that he (and she) are giving up on themselves far too quickly.

It struck me when he told her that he wanted her to have the MalQ and she was worth a thousand ranches that while that sounds very nice, it appears she isn't even worth the bother of getting a second opinion of Miriam's condition. And Camila ought to be pushing for a second opinion or for her to see a specialist or to explore treatments as well. Yet she hasn't made a peep about it. That's not how doctors that I know think.

I remain disappointed that Camila didn't put an effort into keeping Dan. I understand that she is now at the point where she just wants to forget, and I know that is healthy and what she needs. However, she really went down without a fight, IMHO.

Thanks Carlos, if Luzma's depression happened last summer/fall, then I missed it. I go away to work in non-television territory, so there are big holes in my viewing, alas. But if she was depressed before it must have been related to the rape and not to her inability to have relations with Pablo. I think this girl's got a big problem whatever the cause. A) she was an innocent girl raped by an ugly uncle; then brutalized into silence, B) she carried a child she didn't want, then lost that child C) now, she freaks out in bed with her wonderful husband and blames herself. No wonder she's grasping at straws. I say, fire the shrink and get a new one. Maybe even some hospital time if it gets worse. I think she may start acting out some of that rage, not pretty.

LoriLoo- Since NG isn't evil, and I don't think Pablo will even be tempted, I don't think NG will cause real harm either. Afterall, it is Luzma who's approaching her to do this, not NG who instigated it. (Although she was angling for it will all her, "confias en mi" talk and flirty touching with Pablo.) But I do hope that you're right that she actually helps the situation...by telling Pablo what Luzma requested her to do.

Agnes- Yep. The suicide attempt and the depression happened soon after the rape. That was also the first time when she pushed Pablo away. But since they weren't having/trying to have sex at the time, that wasn't yet the issue. She was also keeping the rape a secret from everyone at that time.

Oh, I forgot to respond to the querry about no divorce talk and not needing one. Perhaps technically that is correct--they got married in a church ceremony only. Tsk, tsk, you'd think they would have gotten the civil one out of the way, too, unless I missed it.

Padre already told Dan that Judaism allows divorces and the Catholic Church can grant them an annulment. That was at a time when Dan hadn't decided yet who he was going to stay with and was leaning towards the divorce from MM--before the fake diagnosis.

My beef is that Cam 'n Dan have never talked about it, discussed the *real* end to their marriage, or even that they are *still* married. Even one of the Scoobies could have mentioned it when they were checking on Rafa. And, looking at the photos together doesn't count--all they said to each other was how the photos were the only proof of their great love for each other. That would have been a good segue into discussing who would be filing for the annulment (if it hadn't been for that oh, so sad, but emotional last kiss).

Renata was more than anxious to get the annulment from Jeronimo in the hopper in CME. And we got a Juan Cristobal sighting for the wait.

Anita- Maybe neither of them really wants to annul their Church marriage and that's why neither of them is pushing for it? After all, we have Cami wearing her proposal medallion, and Dan holding on to that wedding photo. Neither one seems quite able to completely let go, no matter what they say. Renata in CME was royally ticked at Jero (with good reason), and wanted nothing more to do with him.

I have no idea if the Catholic Church counts a marriage as valid if they weren't allowed to legally marry in the first place. I had just assumed Cam-Dan also signed the civil paperwork sometime before or after the religious ceremony. They actually didn't show us much of their wedding/reception.

They didn't show us the civil ceremony, but do we really need all the details to be shown all the time? That one really isn't important enough... unlike the issue of never hearing a doctor pronounce Miriam dead.

Part 3 is finally done. Thanks for your patience, folks! I had to take a breather because I had a date with my 2 yr. old grandson to go with him and pick strawberries at a u-pick truck farm near by. What a terrific time we had watching the excitement on his face every time he found a nice big red one and put it in the box for his daddy--er...the ones, that is, that we didn't sneak a bite of! I heartily recommend it for those of you with the opportunity. I guess bunnies and eggs come next.

Welcome to Soyyo and jk!

==========
As for 2nd opinions, if Miriam travels to Chile, I bet she'll look up her old doctors there and get their opinion far away from Dio's clutches at this point.

Thank you, Jardinera. Three great parts. I will giggling all day at the thought of Augustina doing the "perp walk"!

Her reconciliation with Daniel was sweet and a harbinger of what a lovely role he can have in Camila's extended family, assuming all ends as we hope it will. I am feeling like Agustina will get through these legal troubles, but not without a lot of stress and tears for both her and Camila.

Picking strawberries with a little one. Nothing could be more perfect, though getting ready for Easter sounds pretty good, too. We sure appreciate his willingness to share his grandmother with us as we make our well al fin.

Buesnos Dias Jardinera. Muchas gracias por la parte tres. This episode was full of unravelling threads. "they need to figure out a way to get that briefcase out of Dio’s house... (Omar, are you listening?)" I certainly hope so, because I'm sure he can make himself useful if only anonymously. He could call the "Tip Line" and blab a bit and redeem his rotten soul.

Thanks for filling in what Ileana said to Caye. I didn't catch that she was actually warning him about the drops. But I suppose he's the wrong person to warn, as he is under their influence. She's got to make her toxic self useful before she packs those bags.

And the Mexican justice system goes right back to work arresting the wrong peeps. I wonder what shenanigans it will take to reveal the real perps). Poor Gussie in the hoosegow. I don't guess she'll be wearing lavender in there.

Thanks again for brightening our Sunday morning with your wonderful talents. I'm imagining the good time you had picking strawberries with your grandson. What a joy! —Agnes

Thanks Jardinera, finally I'm home and not at work and can comment properly.
I love it when you do the recap in parts on the weekend. It helps to continue the conversation over the longer break.

We now know how Leo will escape the jail if he is going to do it. By the garbage truck. They told us the schedule.

And I'll bet money that Dan gets Aggie's keys and goes to Dion's house when no one is there to look in the briefcase. Except Dion will find out because he has surveillance videos of the inside. Bu who cares if Dan can get the info anyway. I hope it won't be Osvaldo trying to do that. He wouldn't be able to withstand retaliation from Dion.

Yay! Thanks for Part 3 Jardinera. It sounds like you had a blast with your grandson. I’ve never been strawberry picking, but my friends and I always go apple picking in the fall. Not as easy to sneak tastes with apples. :)

Lots of stuff beginning to be in the works this episode—Iliana knows about THE DROPS that are stealing Caye’s will; the Justice League is planning to steal the THE BRIEFCASE; Leo has likely found a way to make a prison break to get revenge on Isa (and to likely got after Luzma too); and Gussy’s going to the hoosegow for fraud. Plenty of drama to lead us up to the finale. Let the games begin!

I also enjoyed seeing Gussy apologize to Dan for her petty behavior due to her jealousy of his mama. They had a very sweet moment as he hugged her and kissed her forehead.

I agree with you Vivi, Dan is a really sweet guy. After all Aggie said about him and to him, he's willing to forgive and forget. I can't see Ileana leaving before doing something about seeing Isa with the drops. That's the only way Isa will be stopped, and we all know she will eventually be stopped and not end up owning BV. And after all, Ileana HAS to be good for something.

Thanks so much, Jardinera. Three great parts--what a great treat for the weekend. I enjoyed all three, but I laughed out loud over "not to let the door hit her where the good lord split ‘er!" Also, your observation that Issa's "medicine" will lower Cayetonto's blood pressure--to zero. And your remark to Gussie "(Cuz you wouldn’t put your ears on long enough to listen to anybody, that’s why!!)

I hadn't caught what was said in the "conversation" between He Who Shall Not Be Named and another inmate, so I really appreciated your help there. It seems clear that El Cerdo will escape with the garbage truck (seems appropriate, yes?). My guess is that regardless of what happens before that with Pablo and Luzma, the news that El Cerdo has escaped will make Pablo unwilling to leave Luzma's side. (And perhaps be the one to finally get rid of El Cerdo permanently? I'm still thinking that there's got to be a confrontation between Hissa and El Cerdo, but how that turns out isn't clear.)

Agnes suggested that Omar could redeem himself by getting Dio's briefcase and turning it over to those who need it, but though I like that idea, I'm more inclined to think that Dan will be the one to go after the briefcase. Alas, the secret surveillance that Dio has installed will record that. Unless, of course, Omar can be persuaded to turn off the surveillance.

I wonder whether the writers have made BratGirl see what Hissa's doing with the drops only to toy with us. They keep surprising us, and so it wouldn't be too farfetched to believe that they'd plant Hissa's seeming undoing only to tease us.

Can't wait for next week's episodes!

Thanks so much, Jardinera, for your fabulous three-part recap!

I do think Leo will escape on the garbage truck and head straight for Isadora, but I also think Ileana will divulge the drops and help Dumbo Cayo see the light.

I agree that when the news comes out that Leo has escaped, Pablo will stick by Luzma no matter what she says.

Excellent recap-all three parts-- Jardinera, thank you!

I don’t believe that Omar is redeemable; he’s a thug who’s paid to do Dionisio’s dirty work. However despicable Leoncerdo was, Omar held him down and took pleasure in seeing Isadora cut out his tongue and was very impressed on how well she did. That alone will not give him passage to the redemption gate; and let’s not talk about holding Yago at gun point forcing him to marry Nat and his latest dirty work with spreading the virus that almost killed Dan and took out ¼ of the herd. I don’t think his facial expression or contortion is cause enough to call for his redemption; when he starts going against orders and breaks rank with Dionisio, then we can say redemption.

Carolina, we agree 100% when it comes to Cam not fighting and giving so easily on her marriage/relationship with Dan. And to make matters worse; she now feels guilty for her feelings because la Santa Miriam is an enchanting woman who saves Dan’s life and her ranch. GAG ME!!!

Anyway, in regards to Dan’s desire to protect Miriam from ever knowing that she’s potentially ill, is a recipe for major disaster. For one thing Dan is only with Miriam for obligation not love; he’s trying to convince himself that once he’s back in Chile, everything will be normal—which is a load of bull—and further no matter what, he can’t keep his distance from Cam especially now that he’s clear that Miriam belongs in his past; and the worse part of his plan is that he’s not only hurting Cam and himself but he’s hurting Miriam even more. Miriam is the type of woman when the truth is revealed will be the one to seek a divorce.

The other day; it was discussed that Miriam knows or has a feeling about Dan-n-Cam; at this point, I believe that Miriam senses that something has changed in Dan-his distancing himself; no desire to make love to her; not reciprocating I Love you, his rushing to be at LMQ no matter who calls—but the idea that Dan loves another woman and stopped loving her altogether have not crossed her mind. And knowing how self absorbed she is, I think there’ll be a point at which she’ll believe that it’s Camilla who is in love with her husband and not the other way around.

Myo-

Myo, I would add baby Agatha to your excellent list of people who are not well served by Dan's plan. Children whose parents stay together for their sake very rarely benefit. Children are much better off when their parents are happy, whether they are together or not, at least from what I've seen and experienced.

To complete my thinking on the whole not fighting and not getting the second diagnosis situation, I think the reason that Dan has not taken the actions that could lead to staying with Camila is because of his reluctance to face the music with Miriam. If he learns that she has no health issues to prevent her from learning the truth about Dan-n-Cam, then he will have to tell her that truth so he can be with Camila. Awkward. He doesn't want to do that, which is one reason I have to think he is not very brave and lacks integrity. As long as he can stick his head in the sand about her health issues, he has an excuse not to tell her the truth. In effect, he is choosing not to have to face telling the truth to Miriam over being with Camila.

Camila, on the other hand, is just tossing in the towel and saying, oh well, Miriam is such a nice person that she deserves to have Dan. Gah! What woman in the history of the planet has ever given up the love of her life for that reason?

Interesting observation about Miriam most likely thinking Camila is in love with Dan but not he with her. That makes a lot of sense. Not only does it fit with her self-absorption, but it is somewhat natural to want to deny that your own spouse has strayed. It's much easier psychologically to just blame an outside intruder for disrupting your marriage than to admit that your spouse loves another.

I did enjoy seeing Dan give Augustina that hug. He's a very good hugger, I think. He is a great guy in many ways, and I have always seen that. And I actually like that he is a complex and flawed galan. Someone who is pure good, like Pablo, doesn't hold my interest. He is not realistic although Dan is. My problem is that the two main flaws Dan has, a hot temper and a tendency to lie, are both huge red flags in a relationship for me. I say run, don't walk, away from any guy who has either trait. If he has both, run even faster.

renata/Myo, Yes, you make a good point about Omar's irredeemability. I agree, but there's nothing to stop him from ratting out the boss if he thinks it will buy him some good time, or simply for spite.

And many comments back Soyyo said that the script for Roman's role may have been written before anyone knew " the caliber of child actor they had on their hands" So, yes, I think the voices thing is a lovely idea, but unfortunately no amount of coaching could bring it to life with this kid. Makes me wonder about the Televisa School of Acting.

Do we suppose Miriam is warming so much to Mariano because she's missing what she used to get at home and the man she used to trust is holding back and she knows it? I actually see her as a spontaneous and fairly well-balanced and self-respecting person who's been thrust into this spiderweb of intrigue and deception. It was easy not to like her at first because she seemed like such a clueless interloper, but the role has developed and I think the actress is doing a creditable job.

Jardinera, my aunt used to live near Bull Run and you can still visit the battlefield there; beautiful Virginia countryside. Your title cracked me up. There sure is a lotta bull in this show.

I’ve already spoken about Dan’s reluctance to tell Miriam about Cam not just being about her illness. But I think it goes beyond cowardice. Frankly, it’s for a number of reasons, making it complicated. It’s the real fear that the truth will cause her physical harm, leading to his daughter losing her mother and him losing someone he loves (although is no longer in love with). And it’s the fear that the truth will wound her deeply on an emotional level, and he doesn’t want to be the source of that pain. Is this cowardice? Yes, you can call it that. But at the heart of it is a deep desire not to hurt Miriam. It's a complicated problem, and the answer isn't easy.

As for Cam, if Miriam were just some strange woman who came out of nowhere and took her husband, and Cam just stepped aside, then I’d say she just gave up. But Cam sees HERSELF as the woman who came out of nowhere and took some other woman’s husband. Camila is the other woman, and her conscience can’t let her live with that. We can spin it any way we want, but that’s the way Camila sees it. She’s a gal who sticks to her principals, so we can’t expect her to change her character overnight.

Agnes- “Do we suppose Miriam is warming so much to Mariano because she's missing what she used to get at home and the man she used to trust is holding back and she knows it?” If Miriam had been “alive” when Dan met Cam, I don’t think anything would have started between them, although they likely would have still been attracted to each other. Mir’s death left the door open to Dan’s heart. Mir and Mariano are attracted to each other, regardless of whether or not Dan exists. Dan being distant has definitely opened up a window of opportunity in Miriam’s heart, where attraction to Mariano could turn into something more.

Just to highlight my point about Miriam-- if she just needed a man, any man, to lean on, she would have been able to fall into Dante's willing arms long ago. But she's not attracted to Dante. She's clearly attracted to Mariano.

What if, when Miriam asked Dan why HE had to be the one going to LMQ to see about Gussie, he would have responded instinctively, "Because she's my mother-in-law!(pause) Oh, did I say that out loud?" Ooopsie! Well, I can dream, can't I? ;-)
Soyyo

Soyyo- I'm surprised someone else hasn't slipped up since Ana spilled the truth. ALL of them are good liars, not just Dan. LOL!

Ha-Ha, I've been waiting for the big slip-up. I was sure it would be from Dan in the heat of some moment where he was totally confounded and couldn't figure out which truth to tell. Poor guy, hard to keep all those balls in the air at the same time. But actually, I think Miriam's antennae are on super alert mode. Notice how quickly she jumped on what she overheard about somebody in prison.

Now that Miriam knows almost everything (Abe throwing Dan in jail; Dan's escape to Mexico; Dio's plots to take the ranch and murder Dan; and Abe in jail) it's easier to keep the truth from her. Now they all only have to juggle two non-truth balls-- anuerism and Cam-Dan. If none of them have slipped up so far, I don't see them doing it now. Of course, not that Ana is spending time with Miriam, she might just slip up again. And of course, there is that photo...

Vivi, I'm thinking the picture is going to be what gets her to find out. And Mariano will probably be the one who ends up explaining it to her.

Vivi, With regard to Camila, what you see as principled, I see as weak. She took the easy way out to avoid conflict.

What I would see as principled in this situation as would be going after what you need to make yourself happy, as well as ultimately everyone else. She should be able to see that Dan will not be happy with Miriam since he is still so hung up on her. Sending him off to live in a sham marriage is not principled, and although it is Dan's choice to make, she could still try to influence it, but instead she has done pretty much the opposite and has pushed him away. From the arrival of Miriam, she shut the door on intimacy with him instead of trying to preserve it. She just didn't want the messiness of confronting Miriam or seeing Dan divorce her, either. She decided on some level or another that Dan just wasn't worth it.

However, it is clear that Camila is not happy about losing Dan. My take is that in a situation like this, where Camila did not steal anyone's husband and both women have equal claim to him, and, most importantly, where the husband loves and wants to be with her, it is actually more principled to have the courage to go for what you want and need to be happy rather than sit back and play the victim. I firmly believe that we create our own happiness or, in Camila's case, her own unhappiness.

I am not buying the idea that somehow Camila has taken the high road when she hasn't been true to herself. Your point is that she has been true to some noble notion that a woman can never be involved in the break up of a marriage, but this situation is far from the standard other woman one. It is far more fundamental to be true to Dan and their love and to her future happiness, IMO. I am happy to agree to disagree with you on this, however. :)

That photo is trouble.

If one wanted to psycho analyse Danny Boy, one could say that he was working on self-sabotaging his marriage to Miriam.

Carolina, is this your first telenovela you've watched? Just curious, I know you were new here when this one started, is this the first one you've watched?

Carolina - I agree on your points on both Camila and Dan and would add Luzma to those unwilling/unable (in Dan's case, too weak to face up to his feelings and tell Miriam everything) to fight for their love.

Luzma, IMO, has also just given up and handed Pablo to Mayelen on a platter. Whether Pablo will agree to be "handed over" as just so much merchandise is another matter, although I don't think Mayelen will tell him that Luzma gave her the green light. I don't think Mayelen will hold back from trying to 'seduce' him. I think she will act as she would have acted from the beginning if Luzma had not been in the picture. I don't think she'll succeed, but she will sure try.

Miriam, I think, would fight for her love if she thought she was loved back, but she seems to be the type that once she finds out about the Cam/Dan connection, she will fall back on her "me, me, me" attitude and figure, "well, if he doesn't love ME, I don't need him!"
Soyyo

Self-sabotaging and on a deeper level wishful thinking that she dies sooner rather than later – which is why I don’t think Dan will be so conformist to living a normal life with Miriam when he gets to Chile – I have a feeling that he’ll grow to resent her (or even hate her) for being the reason why he lost Cam.

The picture is irrefutable proof but let’s not forget about the necklace or the wedding rings – they’re still unfound.

Myo-

Well, life's a pretty messy deal whether in telenovelas or in our own lives. I've been dealt some pretty nasty blows on account of principles. It turns out the dealers just had a limited scope about rightness and wrongness and the many shades of gray (red, blue, green yellow) between them. I'm loving all this equivocation and shifting sands. And yes, I think the photo will be the eye-opener for Miriam. But I'm hoping she's safely in the embrace of Mariano's protective ambience when it happens.

Jardinera glad you had a nice time w/your nieto! Thanks for part 3.

Hola Amigos de Caray,
I am posting on every recap to remind/announce to you that our own Melinama/Jane is in the midst of a live concert on Google+ or YouTube with her St. Patrick's Day concert of the Pratie Heads. Here is the link for now live or later I think it will be viewable too:
http://www.youtube.com/user/PratieHeads?v=63e9oTOXwxY

Wow, Cheryl, what a talented lady she is.

Thanks Cheryl, I'm watching and listening right now. Makes my St. Paddy's Day to see our blog mom doing her wonderful thing.

A great, big thank you to all you fabulous recappers. Thank you for all the LOL moments and for giving us such entertainment, vocabulary tips, and something to share with others. You really all are incredibly wonderful, fabulous writers with lots of soul. Muchisimas gracias:)

Thanks for posting the video link Cheryl. I just watched much of it. Melinama/Jane/CHF is one talented lady!

Jardinera- I forgot to mention how much I was amused by that conversation between Isa and Ili, and your retelling of it.

"Issa raises a well plucked brow and smiles contemptibly at her. “—Ah, you are not fool—a freeloader yes, but a fool no! Pack your bags pretty girl and now, excuse me.”" LOL! Great scene.

Jardinera - Muchas gracias.

Counting on Bratgirl to blab about those drops. She doesn't give up easily.

Will the concert still be on YouTube tomorrow? I was cooking for a St Patrick's Day party at a friend's house (and I'm going to crash right after this post).

Camila is very probably struggling with her conscience at this point. Daniel told her how much he loved Miriam and how sad he was when told she was dead. I don't think this would have necessarily been enough; there is now the baby. Camila lost her own father when very young, had one worthless stepfather and one dangerous one. I wonder whether she is identifying with baby Agatha.

Agree with the above comment about Omar being irredeemable. Unless someone bribes him more than El Diablo is paying him he won't turn on the devil.

Jardinera, Thanks for your detailed exacting and thoughtful recap of this complex episode. I enjoyed reading it today then thinking about the episode again. This will go down in the annals as areally well written and acted TN, at least for me. The suspence has been sustained for so many threads so I can't wait to see how every one ends up.

I do think that Miriam is the type to need a man, any man. Remember that she couldn't even stroll in the MalQ garden without a male escort. She is desperately clinging to Dan even though he is sending all sorts of signals that he isn't interested in her. Granted, that would be confusing after she's just woken up from a coma, but she has shown very little (if any) self-reliance or independence.

Thanks Jardinera for the great weekend treat--3 times over. I agree, I don't think Rodolfo could imagine Luzma's "license to cheat"  when he was counseling Pablo.  But then again, neither would Pablo.

The PabLuz situation is the first time the writers have made such a ridiculous plot line that wasn't necessary for advancing the story (Dan's reasoning for not telling Camila and now Miriam the truth is close, but I'm OK with it since I get the value to the storyline). It would be nice if Pablo shuts this down muy pronto. And it would be a plus if NG was actually a help as well.

The idea of Luzma killing Leonicio is awful. As much as it could be justified by self-defense, Luzma would handle the taking of a life very hard.  She doesn't need anymore emotional baggage.

I think Gussie has repented enough. It can stop now.  Dan was very sweet and cute when he gave Gussie that hug.

I had the distinct impression Gussie was terrified of leaving the ranch when she called Osvaldo and asked him to come to her. I think she felt safer at the ranch which is why she didn't go right to the police.

As Vivi mentioned, the scene where Dan and Dante are gaping at Miriam waiting for her head to explode was a hoot.

I couldn't believe BratGirl just charged into Cayetonto's bedroom without knocking. Suppose he was naked?  Eeeeew!  And when she clutched his foot while making her pleas, I had to laugh.  I vote her stay at BV be extended.

It took me a while to realize it was a sweater Dan had around his neck, and then it reminded me of that cape Leoncio always wore at the beginning of this TN that covered half his face. So weird and so creepy.

Thankyou, everyone. Lots of fabulous discussion here this weekend.
==============
Cheryl/NM: Nice to see you're back with us! Thanks for the link. I'm listening right now. I love this kind of folksy music, whatever the country or reason! Jane is fabulous! Never had the opportunity to hear her before and it is such a treat.

Greetings all.

These thoughts are partially in response to Carolina's point about the lack of fight.

First, I may be one of the few, if not the only person here who doesn't see the Pablo/Luzma "surrogate wife bomb" storyline as ridiculous. This happens in real life, so it's not unrealistic. It's not the solution, but it happens, more often than you might think. This brings me to my point. Cam and Luzma are doing the exact same thing. They are trying to be noble while attempting to control a situation.

In each case, they are "giving" their husbands to women who are, in their opinion, better in some way and who would "win" the competition ... so they don't fight. Mayalen can offer Pablo sex ... now. Miriam can offer Dan fatherhood ... now. Nevermind, that both Luzma and Camila have the potential to offer their own versions "the whole marriage/family package" in the future.

Luzma would fight an Ileana type. Camila would fight an Isadora type. But the "M" women are sweet, kind, helpful, and have provided life-saving acts, not to mention, they like/love the respective husband. So Luzma and Camila choose the future of the men for them by pushing them away, not fighting, and choosing their replacements or successors. (Again, this happens in real-life, it's not just TN craziness, so PSAs are necessary if the writers are taking that route.)

Cam and Luzma have assessed the "worthiness" of their competitors, and they have decided that the competition has more to offer, and they have decided *for* their men that the respective "M" women are somehow better. Cam and Luz have each ignored the deep depths of love that Dan and Pablo have for them respectively. Deep depths.

In each case, Cam pushes Dan away when he gets too close. Luzma pushes Pablo away when things get too tense. Dan's plate is definitely full, but I think that he would be much more aggressive about finding an second opinion if Cam wasn't pushing him away all of the time and telling him that he has to go away forever. If she told him that she wants him and loves him, and that she's his wife too, then he might aggressively seek both a second opinion and possible cures. Similarly, if there was a coming together instead of a pushing away, Pablo and Luz could each seek therapy, joint, and individual.

Closing point. Cam and Luz are doing the same thing. Despite their strengths, they are martyring themselves, being "noble," being self-sacrificing, feeling unworthy, yet controlling the situation so that it has an outcome that they "think" they can live with.

NETGIRL - Very interesting take on the Camila/Luzma situations. I never thought of it quite like that, but it makes sense. Although I've gone above and beyond sometimes in my life for the one I love, I seriously doubt I could be that selfless faced with either one of their situations:)

Thanks Jar for a great recap.

Think the writing has been fresh and tight until recently. Been increasingly beanie time for me lately.

I'd love to see Ileana sneak some of those drops into Isa's tea. That would be a hoot.

Nanette

Nanette - Working on your lists--dastard(ly) is a word, so dastardliness would be a valid extension.

netgirl--Interesting and thoughtful new way of thinking of Cam & Luz. I can definitely see it, too. I wonder if the writers see beyond the action and into the characters' psyches the way we do.

Nanette, you amaze me with these lists. So many small points along the way forgotten until you put them in perspective. Thanks

and netgirl, thank you for voicing, so articulately and comprehensively, your view about the Cam/Dan and Luz/Pab difficulties. I can't say I disagree with what you say. There is a very similar self-effacing, non-confrontational quality about both these gals. I'm not personally familiar with any woman setting up a surrogate for her partner except in the case of infertility, so, for me it was a major beanie moment. But there is a biblical precedent in the Sarah/Abraham story (albeit for reasons of producing offspring) so, I'm willing to give it another look in terms of plausibility. I do think the pushing away has such a pathetic element of wishful thinking in both cases. But this being a telenovela, in only a few short weeks, everybody will be properly hitched up with their correct partners, the bad guys will have received their just deserts and with any luck at all there will be a couple more buns in the oven. Hey, it's not real life after all.

netgirl, wow. Very interesting point. You and I are ITA regarding Camila but I hadn't seen the similarity with Luzma's situation. I know that I am very much in the minority here, but her whole story line just has never grabbed me and I have been doing my best to ignore it for the most part. I do like that the writers are handling rape and its aftermath sensitively and reasonably accurately and I do appreciate how it destroys a victim's life. But Luzma lacks depth, IMO. Kudos to you for seeing the similarities.

I would take things a bit step further, if I may. Both of these women may be thinking they are being noble martyrs, but both are very wrong and misguided in that. I'll take your word that the surrogate wife bomb actually happens in real life; maybe you have more interesting friends than I do. But I hope that you aren't suggesting that it is a good solution. And as I spelled out above, Camila's solution is not beneficial to anyone long term, not even baby Agatha, and Camila would be much better off being true to herself instead of a noble fantasy.

As a literary device, a foil (two sets of characters in similar circumstances or acting in a similar way) is meant to help us see the behavior of the main characters in a different light. Perhaps, we can all see the folly of Luzma's behavior easily, and so we are meant to see more clearly the folly of Camila's.

Netgirl- Really like your comparison of Camila and Luzma.

Nanette- Great list, as always. Thanks for reminding us of that shudder Iliana gave when she saw Isa kissing Cayetano. She's actually been amusing me this past week. And of course, watching her being kicked out and stamping her foot to no avail, is part of the fun.

"Padre B.’s death is laid at Al’s (conveniently dead) door." This made me laugh for some reason. :)

Carolina, I guess I don't see either of them thinking of themselves as noble martyrs. I think they are being "true to themselves"; that they sincerely believe that what they wish for is out of reach and they just have to suck it up and move on. Yes, there is passive-aggression in this, but everybody is entitled to one's own personal pathology. And, in fact, standing up for "what's right" may not mean the same thing to everybody concerned and could cause a ton of misery. I think Camila thinks she's avoiding a personal hell by getting tough with herself and saying, enough, already. She seems willing to confront her own grief and sense of loss. Luzma is a little more pathetic in that she is practically psycho and doesn't really know where to turn. But both girls are angry.

Thanks for the HP/LP Nanette! Thanks for the comments Vivi, Marta, LXV, Carolina, and Anita. (Thanks to all others! I love the comments and discussion, as well as all of the recaps. I also liked the Parts 1, 2, and 3 format of the recap Jardinera ... I kept checking my phone for updates over the weekend!)

LXV, yes, I too look forward to everything being right with the world by the end of this TN. I posted in one of the weekend discussions that I watch TNs, Bollywood movies, K-dramas, and Hallmark movies because I *want* the happy ending in the neat little packages, since that *doesn't* always happen in real life.

Carolina, oh no ... I'm definitely *NOT* saying that Luzma is making the right decision. No, no Luzma ... wrong decision, wrong path. I also agree with you regarding Cam's behavior. Given their "hermana/hermanita" type of relationship, I wonder how Camila would counsel Luzma given her own behaviors? Further, I am intrigued by this TN because indeed both Cam and MM are both the wife and the other woman. Technically, there wasn't any adultery, and likewise, neither is a mistress. Carolina, you make good points about the Cam/Dan solution not being good for anyone, and not for Agatha either. I too speculate that if Dan returns to Chile with MM, he would try to be a good husband, but he would pine for Camila. He would likely obsess about her life without him while he's waiting for MM to die for real this time, waiting for his future "Like water for chocolate" moment when he can go back to Mexico and they can burn for love. [Did you all see that movie?] That's no way to live. MM will have an unhappy husband, Agatha will have a perpetually sad dad.

Saw Like Water For Chocolate and became boiling mad that situations like that still happen.

Agnes, I see your point, but I have a problem with them sincerely believing what they wish for is out of reach when neither of them has really tried to grab what they really want. That, to me, is being true to yourself.

I agree that Camila has reached a point where she just wants to move on and that is healthy for her. I don't have a problem with how she is acting now. It's what she did and didn't do earlier that put her into the position she is in now that I have a problem with. However, if she doesn't want to fight, it's best to focus on moving on. But I have a hard time seeing anyone choosing passivity and to not go after the man they love or anything that they want or need to be happy. IMO, even if you lose, the loss is a lot easier to accept and you end up a lot less angry if you have given it your best shot. I couldn't live with myself if I had given up on Dan the way Camila did. But, as you say, everyone is entitled to their own personal pathology. God knows, I have mine.

Glad you like the lists. I was amazed after I finished that there were still more HPs than LPs.

My last two centavitos.

In all the break-up episodes with Cam 'n Dan, starting with the beso under the trees, it has been Camila who has done the pushing away. She chose to stay in control and minimize the hurt. Dan has never "broken up" with Cam (until he threatened to turn himself in after escaping the hospital, etc. etc.). When MM appeared on the scene, again, Cam wasn't sure what Dan was going to do and took the lead. It was Cam that took off their wedding rings, although Dan was still holding out hope at that instance that all would be well once Miriam's tests came back ok. When they came back with the aneurysm, she felt deflated and defeated. Again, could it be staying in control of her life, her feelings, and minimizing the pain of losing him that she pushed him away? Wish we could get a director's (writers') cut on the DVD (haha).

Camila feels this is Dan's decision & I agree. After all he was married and very much in love with Miriam first.

Nanette here are my choices this week, tho' I had to stop before I recopied your entire two lists! LOL!

Thumbs UP List:
Hipolito asks Luz for Piedad’s hand. When Luz says yes, he tells her she is like a daughter to him.

Agustina finds Dio and Isa together—finally.
Agustina slaps Dio.

Ileana sees Isa putting drops in Caye’s tea.

Agustina admits her reasons for disliking Dan.

Dan comforts Agustina. Agustina apologizes.

Crappy Unhappies:

The whole fake engagement party, especially Isa and Dio sexting each other.

Dio has trussed up Agustina.

It isn’t good. Luz wants NG to be a surrogate wife to Pablo?!! And, of course, NG agrees?!! Bizarre.

It seems pretty clear that Dion is not going to get Camila by wooing her, he can only get her by making her financially obligated to him. So does he think that she would succumb to him sexually for that reason? I can't figure out what he's thinking on this topic, and how he plans to have Camila be his.

How funny, I can't delete a comment when I'm on my computer, but I can delete it when I'm on my phone.

One of my favorite little scenes of the week, that ties in with Nanette's HP list, was seeing the pride and care Eleuterio took in creating that pretty centerpiece for Hip-Piedad's romantic dinner, and seeing Rod cheer him on. Those two guys are so sweet.

Cathyx, the only possible way would be to blackmail that doctor into performing a frontal lobotomy on her. With all the medical mayhem that has happened on novelas I'm amazed that one hasn't been tried yet.

What I sometimes think El Diablo is hoping for is for Camila to become another Hissadora and future partner in crime. Alternatively he might think about ditching future risks and taking Camila offshore (where he must have hidden most of his dinero) and locking her up in a creepy mansion on the island of Martinique or some such place.

What I can't figure out is whether he gets off on her unwillingness. Does he get off on the idea of raping her? Sadly, that would be consistent with CE's past villains.

Vivi, I love TN wooing. They have all access to mariachi bands, gourmet meals, and secluded spots at night. And cost is no factor. And before someone reminds me, I know that wasn't the case with Hipolito and Piedad.

UA, we're just going to have to wait and see what he has planned. He certainly hasn't made it a secret that he wants Camila for himself, so he must have something up his sleeve.

Remember in Sortilegio, a bad doctor gave the main character a drug and she forgot her past. That's what Dion needs.

Couldn't we use those drugs to make Dion forget who he is and what his (convoluted) plans are? That would solve a lot of everyone's problems.

What I am really wondering about is whether El Diablo was lying to Hissadora some episodes back when he told her he intended to keep her in his life after conquering Camila. Neither she -- nor we -- have any clue of his real intent.

When Hissadora arranged for Bruno to release the bulls with Camila in their path and she sent El Diablo to "rescue" her, I believe she intended for him to die as well. That should have occurred to him if it hasn't.

How about we all use alcohol to forget that a lot of this doesn't make sense. :)

UA, was that really her intent? I can't remember very well, but I thought that she didn't want to tell Dion her plan and he made her tell him, and she didn't expect Dion to save Camila. She didn't want Camila to be saved. Vivi, I need your great memory.

No, she didn't want Camila rescued. They had to come up with the "after the rescue" fabrication (no pun intended) of finding the piece of her dress and following it.

Will Dionisio be another case of one man and two women? Ain't gonna happen, but I'm just making the observation.

P.S. Both Operation Shine the Lights have been updated.

...and yes, cathyx, Issy wanted Dio to go to the beyond at that time, she wanted LMQ all to herself and didn't think she needed him anymore. (Vivi can clarify.)

Isa intended to kill two birds with one stone and wanted Dio to die along with Cami. That's why Dio was more than a little upset and held that medical instrument to her throat in the hospital. Unfortunately, she talked her way out of his wrath. He should know better than to trust her, but he's that arrogant.

Isa is definitely the more devious evil villain in this show. She's a cold blooded killer who never loved her son and even though she talks of wanting Dion by her side, she ultimately wants the throne all to herself.

Vivi: I almost put the romantic dinner preparation on the HP list, but settled for the cute little Eleutario scene with Hipolito motioning for him to go, he finally gets it and then peeks around the column for a moment. However, I agree, the prep time is an HP.

When I commented about Luz's plan being bizarre, I hadn't read the comments yet. I'm glad to see I wasn't the only one who thought it is a cockeyed idea--even given what she's gone through. Beanie moment for me.

She didn't want Camila rescued but... El Diablo didn't know that.

Anita, El Diablo already had two women: Augustina and Hissadora.

UA--Yep, you're right. Somehow I didn't count her, but...if Camila has anything to do with it, it'll only be two and not three for Dio!
