Amor Bravío #152 (Uni 147) Fri 3/22/13 The Truth About Dad or Daddy Dearest Rules The Roost…For Now

Capítulo 152
Partes 1-3

Lo Del Pasado:

Daniel has gotten Miriam’s agreement to see the doctor again for permission to travel back to Chile—when hopefully, Shady Doc is off playing an 18 hole round of golf that day, so that Mir gets to see his morally upright and totally incorruptible partner for that long-awaited SECOND OPINION  that Viewerville’s been hoping for.  Dionisio and Isadora are toasting to putting the finishing touches to their sinister plans for bending both Camila and Cayetano to their wicked will.  Cam will have to cede La Malquerida—and probably an amount of personal mattress space to Dio--and El Tonto de Yippee ¡Yai! Cayó will suffer a fatal heart attack after tippling back a couple of Issa’s custom Poison Passion potassium cocktails, a Viuda Negra house specialty.  Dio and Dora, the sexual sicko’s in this story, have plunged to the depths of degenerate debauchery after the aphrodisiac of discussing their murderous maneuverings.  Bwahahahahaa!!!

Lo Del Nuevo:

Natalia, with Yago the Yutz in tow, arrives at Daniel and Miriam’s with a wedding invitation for the coming Saturday.  The affianced couple meets Mir and learns that Dan and Fam are leaving to return to Chile on Sunday.  They’ll be there to say their good-byes to everyone, however.

Back in the bull yards of La Malquerida, Eleutario and Rodolfo are disputing the truth of what Ileana told Rod about Yago’s true and most dishonorable honorable intentions in marrying the deflowered damsel, Rodolfo’s little señorita gone astray, Natalia. Eleutario mentions that his fruit-seller friend, Leti, told him she saw Yago the other day picking some street walker up and driving off with her.  Rod thinks it’s some stupid third-hand gossip or something.  Eleu tells him La Leti had no reason to lie to him and knows he knows Nat and that’s why she mentioned it.  Well, then, Rod says muy hot under the collar, he hopes Amanda’s little plan works cuz that yutz doesn’t deserve her!

Downtown again at the police station, Teresa, Cami and Osvaldo are in Juarez’s office as he explains that the court itself is investigating the charge of fraud; that the anonymous phone call was enough to start the process rolling, even if Gladys’s son had accepted to settle out of court.  So far, the evidence they have doesn’t look good for Agustina’s getting out of jail anytime soon.  They’ve got to show Dio up for the crook he is then, offers Cam (for those of us who are slow on the uptake), in order to free her mother.  Juarez spells it out for them: with Dio’s statement, the bastard effectively washed his hands of Gussie and there’s no evidence to the contrary.  He wasn’t able to get Dio’s fingerprint on his formal statement, either, he adds.  Getting a fingerprint is crucial to putting the bum away for whatever else he can be charged with then, says Cam.

Os worries that the official copy of Gussie and Dio’s wedding certificate won’t arrive in time to help them out.  Tere suggests tracing the checks Gussie received through the bank to see who cashed them and/or if any of them were truly cashed or not.  They’ll have to get Gussie to list the people she sold those plans to and follow the numbers.

At the same time, across town Mariano arrives at Dan’s place to pick up Ana.  Mar speaks a bit of coochie-coo to Aggie (who actually seems to understand everything the guy isn’t really saying). Then he and Mir drool niceties over one another.  Over coffee Mar seemingly is muy disturbed to find out that she and Dan are leaving for Chile on Sunday. Mar looks at Mir with definite concern in those long lashed hazel eyes of his.  “—That’s like now, already!  We weren’t expecting you to go so soon.” Yup, she says, Dan found a job there and it’s time they leave.  “--Ana was so sad at the news though, that I had to promise her that she and I and Aggie would meet up again soon.   Miriam puts her hand on Mar’s.  (Viewerville notes the tingle he seems to feel all the way down to his toe tips.)  “--So, even though we will be gone, you’ll have to help me keep this promise!”

Mir tells Mariano that she doesn’t want to let their friendship die.   Mar smiles politely.  “—Oh, neither do we.  I’ve gotten used to you being around and we have developed a deep affection for you in the little bit of time since we met you.”  (Viewerville does a major eye-roll here.)  Mir bats her eyes at him, somewhat red-faced perhaps, and says likewise and that she chokes up a bit at the thought of going.  So she wants to leave it at hasta pronto [see ya soon].  Mar agrees that’s how it’ll be.  He and Ana will both keep in close contact and will come down to visit sooner rather than later.

“—Thanks, Mariano!  You don’t know how your promise cheers [reconfortar = comfort, cheer, encourage, strengthen] me up.”  She tells him then that of all the people she met in Mexico he was the only one who told her the truth and offered her a sincere friendship.  Yup, she continues, you’re a terrific father and friend. Mar is taken by surprise at the warmth of her remarks (not to mention his nethers as I suspect) and matches her amiable frankness with a cordial smile.  Ana comes out and shares a big, warm hug and kiss with Mir before leaving with her daddy for a chance to play with Roman.  (Thank gawd!  My insulin levels overfloweth.  Any more warmth and syrupy chitchat and I’d have been turned into rock candy.)

We beam over to the drearier side of town to Gussie’s jail cell where she’s huddled in the darkened corner under a blanket.  Cam and Tere show up with the bags of clothing and food that Pie and Dorotea sent with Cam.  After giving Gussie the goods, Cam tries to cheer her up.  “—It’s hard not to think at times that I’ll never get out of here.”  Tere explains that they’re going to need her help by giving them the list of names of those she sold retirement plans to and the cash amounts they gave her in order to trace where the money went and with whom.  “—But Dionisio ought to [deber de= should, must] know all of that.  I don’t know anything.  He kept all my client files.”

Yes, Ma, says Cam, only she has got to realize that Dionisio isn’t going to help them.  “—What’s more [es más= nay, furthermore, what’s more, moreover] he was just here and he testified that you never worked for him.”   Cara de snarling Gussie.  “—He is a miserable wretch!  An ill-bred, wicked swine!  [¡Es un desgraciado! Un malnacido!]  (Note: Curse words would never dare to drip from prim and proper Agustina’s lips, albeit many of us in Viewerville would definitely have employed much harsher defining turns of phrase.)  “--How could I have thought that he ever loved me?” (Gussie does not get points from me in this.  The broad is dumb as a box of rocks and just as deserving.  In other words, on a scale of 1-10, my sympathize-o-meter is in negative territory.)  Cam starts coaxing her mother then to remember whatever she can about the banks, the names, dates, and amounts collected [cobros].

Meanwhile, Dan and Dante are walking through barely beautiful downtown Aculco and chatting about how Dan really feels about having to leave for Chile on Sunday.  (You’ve got to be kidding.)  Dan admits to being torn between the two loves of his life.  However, he mentions in passing, he’s been offered the job of his dreams but he has to confess that he doesn’t like leaving Cam, especially now with so many things unfinished.  Dante asks if he plans on looking for Cam once Miriam dies.  It has crossed his mind, says Dan.  But it’s just too strange to think about for very long.  Dante agrees that Dan seems to be in between a rock and a hard place.  Dan says he can’t complain having the love of two classy women like Mir and Cami.  He thanks Dios for the ability to have lived and cherished both.  But admittedly, says Dante, you love one and hold a warm affection for the other.  Before Dan can again wax philosophical on this particular point he gets a worrisome call on his cell from Amanda at the B&B.

Back in the pokey, Gussie now tells Cam that it’s useless cuz she can’t think straight. [ser topada= to be useless, lit. stuffed. I suppose one could say she’s mentally constipated.]  “—Nothing comes to mind!”   Tere tells her they’ll try it a different way by asking a few questions. “—Do you have another bank account besides your personal one?”  No.  Cam chimes in. “—And when you got married to Don Dionisio, you didn’t start a joint account together?”  “--Well, yes.  One day he asked me to sign some papers and for my identification so that he could get a joint account, But the jerk never even gave me a cent of it, nor a bankcard, or a checkbook! Nothing.”  She remembers the name of the bank and tells them.

Tere then asks Gussie what was in the documents that she signed along with Dio and Issa.  “--Oh, it was to do with their forming a partnership, but Issa only signed as a witness.”  Gussie has a flashback to the three of them signing, complete with Dio, hair disheveled and in a pair of his brown silk pajamas.  “—Oh, what an idiot I was! Since that day something told me the two of them were fooling around.  (Couldn’t have been the p.j.’s, I guess, huh.)   They got her to believe that they were preparing a surprise for her, Gussie continues. (Oh yeah! And how!)  Cam doesn’t understand.

Gussie navigates through the mental cobwebs and explains to Tere and Cam how she dropped by Dio’s house one day unexpectedly and heard Issa speaking inside while she was outside.  Gussie immediately believed they were getting it on, but they knew how to pull the wool over her eyes and got her to believe they were planning a surprise, when the truth is that ever since both [los dos] of them would be wallowing in bed [revolcarse] together.  Cam is saucer-eyed impactada.  “--You already knew about them?”

Yes, Gussie admits, visibly pained at the memory.  “--I discovered them kissing each other in my bedroom the night they were at Natalia’s proposal dinner.  Because of that he locked me up, and I escaped.” Cam is dutifully impactada to the max when she hears about Mama being locked away.  What does Mama mean he locked her up, and why didn’t she tell her?  What did the jerkwad do to her and why?  Gussie can hardly spit out the words and Cam is left to wait til after Uni pays some of its bills and does the intro.

Nat meanwhile, is now handing out her invitations alone since Yago’s attention span had apparently reached its limit…er…his daddy supposedly called him to come home to attend to some business there as she explains to Luzma when handing her one.   Nat is disappointed that Luzma won’t even open it.  Luz is in full mope and explains that she and Pablo are quits so she won’t be coming.  Our Cheery Chickadee encourages Luz not to give up on Pablo no matter what the reason for them separating and warns her that if she doesn’t make an effort she’ll eventually regret it.  But, she adds, with or without Pablo, she’s one of her few friends and expects her to show up.  (Niiiiiice!)  “--You’re coming, Ok?”

Across town, Gussie continues her story, explaining to Cam that she didn’t think to mention the dinner to her since both Amanda and Osvaldo were attending and she thought she’d be protected.  (Why? I mean, let’s face it. Ossie is a shrimp cocktail complete with red sauce.)  Yeah, says Cam, but despite their being there, Dio still locked her up in the bedroom.   Gussie was going to call her and let her know, but she’d left her phone somewhere and ran off hoping to find her at the M.Q. but Cam had already gone to buy new stock with Mariano.

Cam is angry that Mama didn’t get hold of Juarez right away to press charges, but Mama Ditz didn’t think the two were related.  “--That has nothing to do with anything!”  Tere tells them not to worry because they’ll have a chance to face him again with their testimony and will see about her being locked up then.  After all, she was a prisoner. But what about the adultery, asks Gussie? Tere admits it’s a hard thing to prove but, there and then [allí mismo] is when they’ll be able to reveal [ventilar= discuss, air, reveal] it.

Parte 2

Over at La Buenaventura meanwhile, Yago’s chillin’ with a copy of the newspaper.  Cayetonto asks what he’s doing home since he thought he was supposed to be with Natalia delivering invitations.  The Yutzer lies that they were all finished and so he came home.  Cayo mentions with a smile that Yago’s future FIL is rather lavish.  “—He’s going all out to spare no expense [echar la casa por la ventana=lit. to throw out the house just because of the window].  “--Sure, since nobody would marry his daughter otherwise.”  Cayo gets on him for talking trash about his fiancé.  (What else would we expect?)  He says, yeah and he’s reminded of it daily.  “—I thought you were committed.”  The Yutz does a quick double-step backwards and amends his misstatements.  “--Yeah, er sure, no, but at first I was a bit doubtful.”  He now knows what he is going to do.  Good, answers his happy pappy, cuz a forced marriage can be Hell on earth.

Caye tells Yago then to meet him in the office to go over some shipments.  Yago takes a moment to listen to a voice mail from Diabolical Daddy-In-Law.  “—Now what does he want??” He gets orders to meet Dio at the new house he gave to Nat that afternoon or else.  He has a contract he and the Yutz are going to sign.  “—If you know what’s good for you, you be there!”

Across the way at the M.Q. Piedad and Hipolito are discussing the latest goings on.  He wonders if she’d rather get married now or wait.  Pie wants to wait.  She’s not looking forward to leaving her friends there at the hacienda and hopes that Pablo and Luzma might still patch things up.

Speaking of the King of Roma (as they say down Mexico way), Pablo--now looking way too small for such a big shirt and bow tie--runs into Luz in the hall of the main house. They stare longingly at each other—or rather, he moons and she pouts-- til she decides enough is enough and races upstairs without a word.  He walks back into his office where Mayalen decides to ask him out to have dinner.  She wants to cheer him up….He’s not in the mood, natch.  She tells him to think about it and they’ll revisit the subject later.

At the same time, Mariano and Ana run into Ramon with Rafael and Viviana at the park.  He asks to leave Ana to play with Ramon while he goes back to the police station to give Cam a hand with her mother. (I'd says she and Tere are doing just fine without him, thankyou very much!) No problem, say Viv and Rafa.

Meanwhile, Mir is chatting with Gaston on the phone to let him and Abraham know the family is finally returning to Chile, especially since now Dan has a job…..She asks if there’s anything new about Dio Ferrer.  Gaston tells her he’d rather speak to her in person as you never know who might be listening in on the line.  She playfully scolds him for being as paranoid as Abe but he says it’s the fault of their training.

Still at the jail with Mama, Tere and Cam tell Gussie they’ve got to get hold of the documents she signed since it’s the only way they can demonstrate there was some type of complicity on Dio and Issa’s part.  But, they’re false and the two of them, Gussie says, are just way too smart to have left any loose ends for them to find.  “--A document with all three signatures would be too damning Teresa.”  Perhaps, but they have to try anything and everything.  Cam wonders if there’s anything else she remembers.  Gussie says well, yes.  The day she and Dio moved back into his house, she overheard him speaking on the phone.  “--He was happy Isadora had gotten out of jail.  From what I understood of it, he did something to get Cholita to change her testimony.”

Cam and Tere are sure Dio threatened Cholita somehow.  It’s obvious, they both agree.  She’s his lover and he’ll always try to get her out.  So what else does Gussie remember?  A black briefcase.  She believes it is the same one that Amanda saw full of false passports.  He must have something in it.  He hangs onto it like it’s the apple of his eye [la niña de sus ojos]!  He keeps it in a drawer of his desk.  It will be very difficult to get hold of it.  Gussie says she could get it if she were free because she has house keys and knows the code that opens it.  “--What is the combination?”  (Oops!) She doesn’t remember it, but Osvaldo jotted [apuntar] it down.  Yep.  They’ll have to find a way to get it out of Dio’s house.

Parte 3

Vivi and Rafa send their best to Cam.  They figure it’s pretty serious for Sra. Agustina because both Dionisio and Gladys’s son have both testified against her.  Viv finds out then that Miriam and Dan are leaving on Sunday for Chile.  She feels sorry for Cam because it means this is the final farewell between her and Daniel.  Roman tells Ana to tell the others what Sra. Miriam spoke to her about, asking why she’d really said that about Sra. Camila and Don Daniel being married. “—She was wondering if Daniel had been Camila’s boyfriend.”    Well, says Rafa, it’s best that Dan and she return to Chile right away because if Miriam figures the whole thing out it’s going to be one heck of a blow for her.

Meanwhile, Tere, Cam and Gussie are hoping against hope that they can speak to Cholita and get her to say something and not to let herself feel intimidated. Well, then it should be Amanda who tries convincing her, they agree.  Perhaps Amanda and the two of them can have coffee with her.

Dan shows up at the B&B to have a brotherly chat with Nat.  First of all, he says, he wanted to let her know about the recording Alonso had in his email.  He had to wait, though till Yago wasn’t hanging around.  Because of Isadora.  The recording, he explains, proves that Issa was behind Camila’s kidnapping and not Alonso.  Unfortunately, the tape wasn’t clear and is being cleaned up, he continues, so that they can use it as proof against her officially.  But, Nat’s got to promise not to say a word to Yago about this yet.  Nat eventually agrees to Dan’s request.  With that out of the way, Dan tells her his second topic for discussion is her father.

Nat is immediately on the defensive, cuz she knows her mother, listening intently behind the kitchen doorway, probably put him up to it.  Yeah, she knows that everybody thinks he’s an evil creep, but after thinking about it again, never once has anybody ever had any proof of any of what they’ve accused him of, she argues.  Dan is ready for her.  “—So, then you believe that everything I’ve told you about him is a lie?”  No, she didn’t mean that, exactly.  It’s just he should understand that this is pretty darned difficult for her.   Dan tells her it’s difficult because she’s grown up with this image of a perfect, loving father, but unfortunately it’s not real.  It’s a misconception that prevents her from seeing the truth.

Oh, well, at least with her he’s acted like the perfect gentleman, says Nat defensively.  And he’s proven how much she really matters to him.  How, asks Dan, by buying you all sorts of expensive gifts that your mother cannot afford to give you?

Mariano drops Cam back home and says he’s got to head off right away.  He still has to speak to his dad.  He’s got to warn him some how about his new wife.  She’s shocked that a man as intelligent as he is still hasn’t realized the gold-digging bitch of the bull yards for what she really is.

Once Cam is settled in for the evening, Luzma, Piedad, Doroteo, Eleuterio, Hipolito, and Rodolfo come in to ask how her mother is doing and if she’s eventually going to be released.  No, admits Cam sadly, her case isn’t going well at all.  They are all worried.  Cam tells them how grateful she is to them for their emotional support; and that they’re all like family to her. They share a group hug.

Back at the B&B, Dan emphasizes that he really doesn’t mean to hurt Nat, just to open her eyes for her.  “—I know this is very hard for you, but it is the truth.  Your father is a murderer and that you cannot justify.  You want to know the real reason he left La Malquerida?” Nat says sure she knows why.  “--Because it was very dangerous for him and Doña Agustina to stay there, because of the virus and it killing all the animals.   Besides, things were very complicated.”  “--No, things got complicated because Camila and I threw him out!  We discovered he had spread the virus around there, in order to finish off the cattle and to kill me while he was at it [de paso]!”

Nat tries to make some excuse, but Dan stops her short.  “—If you don’t believe me, ask Piedad.  Thanks to her we found out.  She was the one who heard him telling somebody that with that he was finally going to get rid of me and take over the ranch.  When Dionisio realized that Piedad had heard him, he threatened to hurt Luzma.  Because of that Pablo and Luzma had to come back to the ranch.  That’s the truth, the whole truth, I swear!  I know it hurts, but you have to realize that Dionisio is an evil man; and he’s doing all he can to separate you from your mother to get even with her for leaving him.”  Nat asks him not to say such things.  He insists he’s got to tell her so that she’ll take the blinders off, so that he’ll stop deceiving her the way he did with Doña Agustina.

“—He had nothing to do with that!  He’s even going to find her an attorney! One of the best!”  “--Puh-leese, Natalia!   There’s no one more blind than those who will not see.  Do you know what he did to Doña Agustina the day of your betrothal dinner?  While you all thought she was lying down because she was feeling ill, he locked her up in the bedroom and had her hog-tied and muzzled so that nobody would hear her.  She couldn’t move!” “—Why would he do such a thing, Daniel?” Nat’s no puede ser impactada. “—Because she found him and Sra. Isadora kissing each other!  They’ve been lovers for quite a long time now.”  (It’s safe to assume that after this bit of news, naive Natalia no longer has virgin ears.)  Because of that he sent her to jail to teach her a lesson!  So, now you’re not going to tell me you doubt Doña Agustina’s word, are you?”

Mariano makes it over to the BV. He slyly asks his father how he’s feeling.  Cay admits this is the first time in a long time he hasn’t felt tired, or addle-brained.  Mar looks as if he’s thinking there really must have something in that bottle Illy snuck out of there. “—Say, did you know that Agustina is in jail?”  “--No, what for?”  She’s been accused of fraud which she didn’t commit and which seems to be a trap set for her by Dionisio and Isadora.”  “—Oh, so you’re going to start that again, are you?”  No, says Mar, he’s just relating him the facts as they are.  Cay can come to his own conclusions.  “—Dionisio Ferrer is an ambitious man who will stop at nothing to get what he wants.  Agustina has testified that he and Isadora had allied themselves to involve her in a fraud.”

“—Enough, Mariano!”  Mar jumps to his feet and asks his father to listen.  All he wants is for Cay to change the control of their ranch back and to make Issa think he’s busted, flat broke.  “—Don’t sign anything else and stay on guard, because she’ll leave you with nothing.”  “—Is it so hard to believe that a woman might just want me for love’s sake?”  (Considering the age difference and the fact you’ve got one foot in the grave and another on a banana peel, uh yeah!)  They argue over which wife really loves him.  Cayo is really down on Rocio lying to him about having another man’s child for over twenty years.  Mar says maybe so, but it doesn’t mean she didn’t really love him.  El Tonto Viejo de Cay doesn’t want to hear it!  Mar continues talking anyway.  “—Ask yourself what Isadora would do if you didn’t have a peso?  That nothing of yours would be hers?  Why don’t you put her to the test? If she stays, then I’ll eat my words and never meddle again.”  Hmmm. Seems Mariano has gotten his dad’s attention at last.

Nat is sobbing silently as Dan lets the truth sink in.  Regrettably, Dan continues, that’s not all of it.  “—Everything points to Dionisio pressuring Yago to marry you.”  “—Do you have any proof?”  Amanda breaks in.  “—Ileano told me.  I know the girl’s not someone to trust, but I’m begging you to make sure [cerciorar= verify, assure] before you take such an important step with Yago.”  Dan says, look, we are pretty certain that Dionisio is pressuring him with something in order to make him commit to you.  And through that he’ll be able to stay close to you.  Amanda tells Nat to think back.  Yago’s change in attitude was practically overnight.  Nat is determined to ask Daddy again for his version of the truth.

Back at the M.Q., Cam has told Hipolito and Rod how Juarez failed to get Dio’s fingerprints on his sworn statement against Gussie.  That’s what they need to prove he’s the same guy that married Amanda.  Hipo seems to have a plan to sneak into Dio’s house and steal the briefcase.  Neither Dio nor his henchmen know who Hipo is, so he has the best chance of getting the briefcase out of there.  He’ll sneak into the house during the dark of night while Rod and Eleu keep an eye out somewhere nearby.  He’ll grab the briefcase and the necessary documents and then skedaddle.  “—The way I see it, it’s the only way to prove your mother’s innocence, right?  Trust me!  I can do it!  I won’t fail you, really.”  Cami is reluctant to agree, but...

Looking forward to it Jardinera!

Lots of exciting plans being put into place. I also liked Os and Dan's sneaky plan for ceding his part of the ranch from last episode. Good defensive move to put that secret no construction/no changes clause in there.

Thanks, Jardinera. So much to cover and we know that you will do it with wit and style.

Hipolito is so wonderful. Not a looker but such a good man. I loved when he referred to Augustina as Camila's "Dona mamacita." So cute.

Just a quick comment before I go off to work. Like Vivi said, lots of plans underway, and I love the MQ guys going rogue. How cute. I hope they wear black clothes and skicaps.

Natalia, I hope what Dan tells you finally sinks in. She said she was going to talk to Dion to see if what Dan told her was true. How dumb are you again? Don't you think he will lie his way out of it again? When Aaron mentioned Thursday that Nat needs to see Yago cheating on her, I hoped he was planning on setting up the situation where Yago is with another woman and Aaron brings Nat there 'innocently' where she sees him.

The avances looked exciting, I wish I understood what they were saying.

Yes, lots of exciting plans on the way.

I really like Hipolito too. I'd go for someone like him....looker or not...but then there's Rafa:)

Oh, Natalia, what's it going to take? Like Vivi said the other day, she's probably going to have to see or hear it for herself. Her plan of going and talking with him is utterly ridiculous. Of course, he'll lie, and in addition, he'll be tipped off that he's being scrutinized.

Natalia will have to catch him in the act, just as Gussie did.

If that happens, we won't see a boda interruptus. I'm looking forward to a boda interruptus.

I am not a fan of Miriam's so I'm not happy that I see her in total control of the love triangle. I'm aware that Dan and Cami are helpless to pursue their relationship based on Abe's lie about Miriam being dead and the doctors false aneurism report. However, that's precisely what put Miriam in charge of calling the shots. If I'm right, all the match ups between Mariano, Dante, and Teresa will be based on how Miriam decides to handle the situation. She'll decide what she wants and the others can pair up with her left overs.
For me this is depressing. Anyone see a brighter picture?

Hola todos,

Pablo Montero is temporarily suspended from Que bonito amor. It didn't say exactly why but apparently has sth to do with his music career. He may not come back.

Can't wait for Natalia to see the light, s/b interesting to see her revenge.

Looks like Hipolito is going to get Dio's briefcase, I hope nothing happens to him.

I do like Miriam, she's had it rough. Daniel was the love of her life & now he's in love with someone else.
She will find the wedding picture & then the whole thing is revealed.

She is attracted to Mariano so hopefully sth will develop there.

Seems Daniel & Mariano have the same taste in women.

Up until now Juarez has been pretty smart for a TN police chief, but I was kind of frustrated with him sitting there twiddling his thumbs (literally!) while Osvaldo and Camila were bringing up the question of the checks, including whether they had been cashed. (If they hadn't been cashed, there wouldn't be any fraud to talk about, right?) And while I adore Camila, I think it's going too far to have her be the only person who could come up with the idea of trying to find out where the checks were deposited. (Teresa, the brilliant lawyer: "That's a good idea!")

I know I'm griping a lot, but my nerves at on edge with these penultimate episodes.

All they have to do is subpoena Dio's bank acct & ck his deposits. They have approximate dates.

Actually now I'm starting to suspect that he set up an account in Agustina's name (the papers she signed) and has been depositing the checks there.

Variopinta, could Pablo be recording? He made a CD during production of Abrazame Muy Fuerte and was written out for several weeks. Those weeks were excised from the current airing on UniMas.

If El Diablo doesn't have bank accounts in that name, they may not be able to find anything. Since Amanda swears he is Hector Gutierrez and they have some evidence that this is the case, I'm sure that Sherlock Juarez suspects that any bank accounts he has are offshore and numbered only.

After that scene with Dionisio and Isadora today, I'm wondering, is Dionisio planning to demand Camila herself, as well as La Malquerida, in return for her mother's freedom? That's going to result in some fun drama.

And now I'm also suspecting that Isadora is going to try to torpedo Dionisio's personal plans for Camila.

And will someone just please point out to Natalia that even the worst villain can dote on his daughter and love and spoil and support her? How many times have we heard her say, "But he's always treated me well!" Someone needs to put it plainly: "Do you want to be the doted-upon daughter of an evil man, enjoying the riches that he's stolen from others and benefiting from his evil deeds?"

As others have said here, the actor playing Cayetano is excellent. There didn't seem to be much to him at first, but he did an excellent job of conveying his infatuation upon first sight with Isadora, as well as all these subsequent stages. You can just watch him for five seconds and you know how much of Isadora's drugs he's got in his system. (And I still love him from when he played the hero's father in La Otra.)

If El Diablo doesn't make both demands at once he can't possibly win. Camila would insist that Augustina be released before she signs over the property. After that and getting all the good people off the land and out of harm's way she'd split with no forwarding address (except maybe to Sherlock Juarez just in case).

Dio has to be getting cash, although swindled, from somewhere. So I would think a local bank acct. Aggie even said she signed sth to put her on the acct. I just hope he didn't open the acct in her name only, but then it would be a little tricky for him to get the money out, but he is so damn cagey, he probably could. It seems a small community & I don't know how he could open an acct in a name other than Dionicio Ferrer.

UA, here is the article on Pablo. I know he is your main man.

http://www.peopleenespanol.com/article/el-productor-salvador-mejia-confirma-que-pablo-montero-esta-suspendido-de-que-bonito-amor

Loved that Cayetano said he was feeling much better when Mariano asked him. Amazing what a lack of toloache can do for you. Iz is bound to get suspicious.

I don't want to imagine what Dio has in mind for Camila, but I'm sure Dan will be there to save her from the lecher.

Ok, question time, just how can Dionisio save Agustina from the pokey? The accusations have been made and the policies were never issued that is fraud, so how can Dionision right the situation? Can he suddenly make coverage appear? I don't understand how he can get Agustina out of jail after valid accusations have been made.

He can't spring Aggie, he sure isn't going to sacrifice himself. He'll just continue to spin the mierda del toro.

Of course he can't save her, nor does he want to. You can't unshoot a bullet.

He wants to be rid of her and permanently.

Daniel has to rescue Camila from him because she is walking into his trap with her eyes closed.

Hipolito has got a manly look about him, not boyish. He's got a look that says "I've lived in the world, I' m not just starting out. Check out his fabulous eyebrows and lips.

Poor Rafa. Gets to be a father to an adopted kid. I know it's noble, but such an unhappy relationship beginning to begin with baggage without even having gone on a trip.

I think Univision should do a whole series around Commandante Juarez, something like Colombo . . .

I bet Dionisio could have a whole fallback plan to spring Agustina, with a set of documents, mysteriously misplaced until now, that show that annuities or insurance plans or whatever were purchased for Agustina's clients, and even that she was an authorized representative of an appropriate company. "It was all just a big misunderstanding," he'd say.

That wont get Aggie off the hook because there is no money to pay off Gladys' son. They would ck out the legitimacy. The commandante isn't as gullible as Aggie, no one is as gullible a Aggie.

Urban, we all know he does not want to save her, but if he plans to tell camila that he will get Agustina out of jail if she does what he wants how in the world would he pull it off? Am I the only one that's thought about this?

The only thing he can do is go back to the ones whom he has pressured to bring charges and pay them to drop the charges. He would then have to pay off on Gladys' policy out of his own ill-gotten gains and make the other polices legit to cover it up.

However, I don't think it will play that way.

First of all, since fraud is a Federal offense I don't think that bell can be unrung. Second, he can't have Augustina free and be able to possess Camila. What I think is more likely is that he will stall and she will end up in the federal lockup. From there he will find a way to have her murdered in prison.

Urban, first off pretty cat! He/she reminds me of my own kitty. That's what I thought but I worry that our scooby gang wont think about any of this and do something stupid.

Too bad Mariano can't tell Cayetano to "act foggy" now that he can actually see the difference in him, since el Tonto would never believe what's been happening to him. Isadora is smart and if she notices her LP#9 is not having an effect, she might go back to her supplier and get something more effective. Hope they hurry with the análises!

Figaro is a beautiful cat and he knows it because I'm always telling him.

Don't miss any episodes from now on!

I'm home finally.

I think that Isadora will try to make Caye think something was his idea when it wasn't like she did when she told him that it was his idea to kick out Bratgirl. But this time Caye will have more of his senses about him and know that she is lying. And this will happen after Mariano tells him of the test results. (That's my personal opinion, no peaking at future episodes has taken place.) By the way, this actor is doing a great job of acting slightly more normal now that the drops are wearing off. He's wonderfully believable.

And my opinion about the Dion business, I think that he put it in their joint account but withdrew the money himself. There probably isn't a record of who withdrew the money and since it's joint, he will just say that Aggie withdrew it. There are no records of my own joint account with my husband that tells who actually did the transactions. Only that the transactions took place.

The bank makes the person cashing the ck to endorse it. That's the rule anyway, I'm sure not always followed.
If he transferred it, there is a record.

Jardinera, your style is front and center in your first paragraph. Hilarious and your turn of phrase is so clever. Terrific.

I thought Yago told Nat that he wasn't going with her to deliver the invitations, but there he was at Dan and Miriam's.

So what is Amanda's little plan for Yago and Nat? We never got that detail.

I'm with you on the happy talk with Mir and Mar. Everybody is there for each other and crying when they leave. Even if they've only know each other for a week.

I can't believe that the women in Gussie's cell haven't stolen the things that her family brought to her. What's to stop them?

It surprises me that Dan and Dante talk as if it's inevitable that Miriam will die. I don't think the doctor said her life is shortened with the aneurism.

This had me howling:
Ossie is a shrimp cocktail complete with red sauce.' so true!

Great part 1, Jardinera.

True, Variopinta. But once it's deposited, then anyone can withdraw money without a signature. Think ATM withdrawal. Aggie asked me to deposit these checks into our account for her. She told me that she would move them to her business account later. I didn't follow what she did after that.

If Amanda and our scooby doo gang knew what a stupid fool etc we've branded Nat, I wonder if they'd still push her to single handedly do something that the entire gang of them couldn't do and that is bust El Diablo.

Wow, Jardinera, another great recap, or, rather, half recap. But there was so much info and so many zingers that it felt like a whole recap. I loved your referring to Nat as "Our Cheery Chickadee." It's perfect! As was your delightful account of the scene between M&M, including your observation "Miriam puts her hand on Mar’s. (Viewerville notes the tingle he seems to feel all the way down to his toe tips.)" Perhaps it's not accidental that their initials are M&M--the scene between them was over the top sugary sweet, as you noted: "My insulin levels overfloweth. Any more warmth and syrupy chitchat and I’d have been turned into rock candy."

Can't wait for your Part II!

Fabulous Part I, Jardinera! Love your reference to Isadora's cocktail for Cayo at the "Viuda Negra house specialty." LOL

Okiedoke. I've got two thirds done. The last part will come tomorrow. I'm mentally blitzed and this one has been full of really detailed and juicy discussions.

Glad you liked what's written so far. : > ))

Thanks for parts one and two Jardinera. I do like that the Scoobies are working on multiple fronts to try and take down our villains.

Thanks bloggers for the info on fraud in Mexico. If Cam doesn't act too rashly and its understandable in this situation, then she will realize that all the devil's promises to help her mother are another lie. It will be fascinating to see if he does try to make both demands on Cam as UA noted. While it may make her sick, at least another level of his wretchedness will be revealed to her.

Aleta - ITA I want a bodas interruptus!

Can't wait for part three and your rendition, Jardinera, of Dan's heart-to-heart with the Amanda's deluded daughter.

Gracia Jar,
Things are really moving along, so much to do, so little time.

Great work, Jardinera.

With only 15 episodes to go things are really moving along. One has to wonder, though, if Hissadora succeeds can the Albarran boys get their inheritance back if she is sent to prison?

Iagho may not have done anything illegal but I want him punished in some way for what he is doing to Natalia.

These days they have cameras at the banks and every transaction is probably on video. Do we dare hope for a forged signature somewhere, no cuz he's too smart and so is Issa. However, nobody is perfect and somehow they'll screw up, or let something drop through the cracks. Charlie Chan always preached patience to #1 Son, if I remember correctly.

Ellie: Hi! As for Dio, he does not intend to ever get Agustina out of jail, IMO, just to use her to dangle in front of Cam to get her into bed and to get full control of the M.Q. He's already washed his hands of Gussie legally by testifying against her and saying he had no idea what crazy stuff she was pulling just to feel as important or to give her life meaning or whatever. Once he's got Gussie and Cam totally "back in line" I believe he thinks he'll laugh all the way to the bank, sell out, and take Cam with him while letting them lock up and throw away the key to Gussie's jail cell. Then Isadora will become a thing of the past as well for him. New country, new passport, new bunkmate (namely Cami)....

Well, Parte 3 was definitely worth waiting for. ¡Muchísimas gracias, Jar! I'm really grateful for all the helpful detail (esp. in the discussions between Dan and Nat and between Mariano and his father) and a few useful Spanish phrases that went right by me when I heard them. And, of course, there was more of your splendid snark, as in Cayetonto's reply to Mariano: "“—Is it so hard to believe that a woman might just want me for love’s sake?” (Considering the age difference and the fact you’ve got one foot in the grave and another on a banana peel, uh yeah!)."

Thanks, Jardinera, for the many good quips and continuing great channelling of Viewerville.

Pondering the plot twists and justice system of another counttry are making my head spin and the discussion sizzle. I am so tempted to do a marathon 15 hour on-line leap ahead, but then I would miss watching them with the group. So I will stick with the following UA's suggestion not to miss any episodes from here on.

Loved all three parts Jardinera. You outdid yourself on this one. You are one clever lady with your turn of phrases.

I loved Dan's talk with Natalia when she denied that Dion could do such a thing, Dan said that Piedad and Aggie are lying then? That made her stop.

Amanda may be able to get the truth out of Cholita, but it's another thing to get her to recant her testimony in front of Juarez and Isadora's lawyer.

I can't wait for the:
Nat-Dion conversation
Cayetano-Isadora (hopefully happening) convo now that his mind is coming back under his own control.
Amanda-Cholita convo
Dan and second opinion doctor's convo
And of course, the break in and stealing of the infamous briefcase.

So what is Dion's plan for Cam? Obviously to control her and have her ranch, but does he care if she cares for him? He knows she hates him. He gets her to sign over MQ, but I don't think money alone can free Aggie. Even if they pay off all the investors with the money that Cam gets from selling MQ, Aggie will still have to pay for the crime. But I don't see how he can help free Aggie without implicating himself.
This is where I don't understand what he is thinking or planning if he does really want Camila on a personal level.

Cathyx, great list of "I can't wait for" events. I had a similar mental list, though I'd forgotten about the 2nd doctor convo. Also on my list, though, was Leoncerdo. I'm not sure what will happen once he escapes from prison. I assume he'll head for Hissadora, but I'm not at all sure that he'll succeed in killing her. My guess is that he's the one who will get killed, which I think the TN will use as a way to help Luzma and Pablo get back together.

I wonder about the Nat/Dio convo, but I think its importance may be that Nat, looking for Dio, somehow manages to overhear the conversation between Dio and Iago. Ojalá (assuming Dio doesn't know that she's heard).

I fear that Cam is in for some rough days with Dio before all is resolved. I doubt that he'll succeed in getting her to "accept" him (as he put it), but it won't be pretty. Then again, I've been wrong so many times before....

With regard to the briefcase, do any of our peeps realize that El Diablo has any number of henchmen guarding his fortress? I think only Daniel really understands this.

Can he (or whoever) ultimately be charged with breaking and entering even when finding evidence of a far bigger crime?

Cathyx, I posted my recent message before I saw your second one. Aggie could pose a real threat to Dio. I don't have a good feeling about her outcome. As in R.I.P.

Juanita, I forgot about the Yago/Dion pending conversation. Now I can see that maybe Nat goes to talk to daddy and overhears his convo with Yago. That will kill 2 birds with one stone.

I wish that there wasn't the plot plan for Leoncio to escape. I would rather have Isadora get caught by others and have to live the rest of her days in jail. I don't want Leon interfering with any of that. And I want Luzma to get help for her problem the way any of us would have to get over it, by good therapy, and not by Leon's dying to close that chapter for her. I prefer our badguys to suffer through imprisonment for life, and not what I consider the easy way out by dying.

UA, I know that in the US, if you get evidence illegally, it can't be used in court. But it seems to me that that isn't true on TNs. I could be wrong though.

Maybe the plan to get the briefcase is for Hipo to act as some kind of worker and get in the house with Dion's ok, and somehow stealing the briefcase.

Leoncerdo's pending escape doesn't necessarily mean he will die in the end. If he's caught he'll not only do more time but harder time.

Especially if he makes any moves against Luzma. Nobody will protect him in prison then.

I've already stated my thoughts about what El Diablo has in mind for Camila. He is perverse in a similar way to CE's previous stepfather villains although slightly less extreme. However, I can see his actions being more extreme because TV is now more permissive and because -- unlike Federico and Atilio -- he didn't know Camila since birth.

This will require Daniel to come to the rescue.

Jar, excellent recap; each part wittier than the first-- a few of my favorites:

Viewerville notes the tingle he seems to feel all the way down to his toe tips.
Thank gawd! My insulin levels overfloweth. Any more warmth and syrupy chitchat and I’d have been turned into rock candy.
Considering the age difference and the fact you’ve got one foot in the grave and another on a banana peel, uh yeah!

The second that Cam called Dionisio to negotiate; she walked straight into his trap and lost the upper hand. He might have been a cartoonish villain but Dionisio has masterminded the fraud entrapment so cleverly that he might come closer to getting what he always dreamed of and obsessed about – getting LMQ and taking Cam to bed. Camilla is so desperate to see her mother out of jail that she’s very reactive and not listening to reason and her desire to keep Dan at bay might drive her straight to Dionisio’s bed.

I think it’s time that Augustina steps up and does something selfless to save her daughter from such humiliation; after all it was because of her abject stupidity that Dio had gained so much influence over her and gave him the direct mean to destroy her daughter.

Myo-

Jardinera- Since I was gone all of yesterday, I got a treat this morning in getting to savor your long, detailed recap in one sitting over breakfast. Thank you for taking the time to give us all the important conversations-- and there were many!

I laughed at your description of Mariano's reaction to Mir touching his hand. Do we think he realizes what he's beginning to feel for her?

Not much to add to all the speculation of what's to come. But every time we ask a question (like what about tracking the checks), they answer it by the next episode- so I'm just going to sit back and let the final weeks action unfold.

Dio seemed perfectly fine with Cami hating him (you know what they say about love and hate), but what he really wants is for her to "respect" him. By respect, I think he means fear. He would be perfectly happy to have Camila surrendering to him out of fear (for her mom, herself, her loved ones). He wants to break her.

I really like the scenes between Cami and Gussy. When those two are on the same page (when Gussy isn't trying to push her or Dio's agenda), they have such a great/loving relationship. Cami is so good about keeping Gussy calm, even when she herself isn't feeling calm or is ticked off-- like finding out about Gussy being locked up and tied up and not reporting it to the cops.

Cathyx, I agree with you about preferring to see Hissadora caught by others and having to suffer in prison rather than by dying. (That's why I said I didn't think Leoncerdo would succeed in killing her.) And though I also agree that having Luzma "cured" simply by Leoncerdo's death would be a cop-out and perhaps unrealistic, my guess is that even though the writers have often avoided such shortcuts, with only 15 episodes left, I'm not sure they have much choice. What I love about this TN is that even at this point the writers can keep us guessing about so much.

I agree about Camila and Agustina. SN and the writers do so well at making an extremely good heroine both believable and interesting--by making her actual goodness worth watching. I love seeing her going into "caring mode," which we've seen most often when she interacts with Luzma or now with her mother. You actually see her recognize the need, that is, realize that someone needs help and comfort, and then you see her switch off everything else, every other consideration, and concentrate on the person in need, using a calm and confident voice, saying the right things.

For El Diablo it is all about control. I think he likes the idea of breaking Camila because that makes him feel bigger. Which makes me wonder....

If the situation gets sufficiently egregious and Camila lets him think he can have her will he develop the problem he once laughed at when it was Alonso's problem?

"You actually see her recognize the need, that is, realize that someone needs help and comfort, and then you see her switch off everything else, every other consideration, and concentrate on the person in need, using a calm and confident voice, saying the right things."

So true UtahDesert. Cami does this with Vivi as well. She's a very good daughter and friend. I often find the the heroines in tns are very bad friends-- definitely not girlfriends I'd want to have as they are very often self-centered (Elisa, I'm looking at you). It's either SN or the writers, but her heroines are always such good girlfriends (and I don't mean novia).

As Mariano walked towards Vivi and Rafa and the two kids hugged, I had a vision of the future 15 years down the line when they'll all likely be in-laws.

Myo said: "I think it’s time that Augustina steps up and does something selfless to save her daughter from such humiliation; after all it was because of her abject stupidity that Dio had gained so much influence over her and gave him the direct mean to destroy her daughter."

Vivi in DC said: "

UA said: "For El Diablo it is all about control. I think he likes the idea of breaking Camila because that makes him feel bigger."

UA and Vivi in DC...EXCELLENT comments and observations and worth seeing again. FEAR and CONTROL. This is what absolutely defines Dion. 'Nuff said.

Myo...agree with your observations about Gussie. I've called her a Blockhead all along, but a Blockhead who doesn't deserve death at the hands of her controlling, sociopath of a husband. Gussie has been the weak link throughout. Sadly, it is only now that she has seen what this has caused for her daughter.

I don't think any of us are surprised that Camila was so ready to write off the many things her mother has said and done. Camila sees that Gussie's humiliation is sufficient punishment. Might other daughters be so generous? Hard to say, but if Gussie makes it out alive (and I hope she does), then I think she has a chance at becoming the mother she really wanted to be, but couldn't because of her own ideas about men and her relationship with them.

UA...I think you could do a weekend series on Fear and Control in these stories. While the Dion character certainly has buffoonish qualities, how his character is written is not far from the truth in real life.

Gosh, Vivi in DC, you are SO right..."respect" in Dion's book really does mean "fear". Just had to say this again.

Jardinera...thank you for a wonderful recap.

Fatima

P.S. I wonder about some of these "robot" words! My word for the day is: "hatesxc". Oh boy!

Fatima, just do a search on "controlling parent" in this blog and you will find the photo galleries of toxic parents in novelas from the last 20 years. Control is their main objective, but if you know any of those series you'll see how male and female parent villains operate differently.

UA, thank you! Will definitely look that up. :)

Fatima

Great (of course) recap, Jardinera. I always look forward to my Sunday afternoons with you and my friends here at Caray Caray.

I thought the extended scene between Natalia and Daniel (with Amanda listening in) was wonderfully acted and extremely revealing. Watching her face as Dan laid out the terrible facts about Dad (and then Yago), one could see her carefully guarded and nurtured fantasies disintegrate.

I believe that she already knew but was postponing acceptance of the truth at least long enough to realize some of her hopes and plans before those bitter truths about Dionysio and (even more so) Yago came crashing around her.

I loved that last scene in which Rodolfo, Eleuterio, and Hipólito volunteered to retrieve Dionysio's briefcase. Glad to help...should be fun...piece of cake. Not a trace of doubt or fear from those guys.

Isadora has a interesting choice of poisons...have any of you ever tasted a potassium supplement?

Carlos

No, Carlos. Is it vile?

When she gave it to Old Man Lazcano, it looked like he was too out of it to taste anything at that point. Maybe she plans to have Cayetano is the same dopey state by the time she feeds him the potassium? Of course, she doesn't know that he's becoming more lucid, day by day.

Carlos- What's the story behind this week's avatar? I think I'll make some Jamaican curried shrimp for dinner tonight...

UA, potassium supplements taste extremely salty (not in a good way) and bitter with a metallic edge and a notoriously lingering aftertaste, I would think impossible to disguise.

Vivi, that is a crawfish which are very popular here and are in season now. They are delicious when boiled with strong spices, with potatoes, corn on the cob, and sausage. In Spring, Texas (a nearby neighborhood) a Crawfish Festival is held each Spring.

The very best thing I have ever eaten was crawfish bisque made by a lady from Jennings, La. I think that it's probably served in Heaven.

Carlos

Sounds devine Carlos! Can't get my hands on any good crawfish here, but shrimp is a good substitute for tonight's menu. Enjoy those Texan crawfish for both of us. Youm! :)

I take potassium supplements but I have never tasted them because I swallow them whole. Maybe she hides it in a crawfish bisque.

cathyx,

"Maybe she hides it in a crawfish bisque."

Heh heh...good one.

Carlos

Carlos: Well, no. So I had to guess as I'm no chemist and certainly no herbalist/indigenous witch doctor. Perhaps she will not use a potassium cocktail, but a belladonna bloody mary with the jimson weed extract of scopolamine/atropine --which is what belladonna contains, and since belladonna can be deadly. The flashbacks showed both of her methods when Isadora told Dio she'd get rid of El Tonto doing the same as she did with Al's daddy and Al himself. I did a coin toss and chose the potassium cuz I like popping my "p's". LOL!

Jardinera,

I also assumed that Isadora is going with potassium because that's pretty much what she said. I'm guessing that the writers haven't tried it either.

Carlos

Carlos: So your profs made you taste this stuff yourself in med school, right? Or are you just the naturally curious kind?

Carlos,
Are crawfish & crawdads the same? I've had crawdads in NO

Love how your avatars generally have sth to do with food or drink, loved the tequila y lime

Jardinera,

Potassium is the very reason that I'm not a medicine taster. As an intern I was in medicine clinic one day and there was this detail guy (no pretty women detailing in those days, just guys with ugly ties who stunk of cigarettes) who was pushing his good-tasting K+ supplement. It had a pretty bright red color and a wonderful cherry aroma. He offered me a sample served up in this cute little mini-cocktail glass. He guaranteed that it tasted great.

NEVER EVER...

Carlos

Variopinta,

Yes... crawfish, crayfish, crawdads, mudbugs... all the same. How did you like them? Spicy boiled? And of course I have to ask, did you suck the heads?

Carlos

Carlos: Ackkk! I knew it! I was afraid to offer that up as a possibility. Hate to cackle over that one but what the hey! Bwahahahahahahahahahhahahahah!

Now that Dan's on the truth train . . .

By the way, y'all--almost forgot!! I've got my grandma on again. Just found out today that I'm 6 months from meeting and greeting grandchild #2, courtesy of the DIL and my son. Had the little blonde bomber wearing his "I'm gonna be a big brother" tee-shirt when we showed up for brunch.

Jard, loved your recap. Was especially eager to read Dan's conv. with Nat and Mar's conv. with Caye. I had an idea of what was being said but really enjoyed your story.

Lots of excitement coming up...can't wait.

Congrats on being a grandma again!!!

Ann-NYC

Congratulations Abuela Jardinera!!!

Jar, thanks for the great recap. I'm with Ann re: the two convos.

Congrats on being a abuela again.

Congratulations Jardinera.

Random thoughts about K

So is the deadly potassium solution Isadora had Rosario (?) get from the locked cabinet at the hospital actually easily available? Or does Cayatono have at least a little while to live as Isadora goes about discretely finding a new supplier?

Speaking of Roasario, did she ever tell Juarez (or Anselmo or anyone) that Isadora had tried to get her to off Alonso before Alonso asked her to do it himself?

It can't be a matter of a few drops of potassium itself having killed the first husband, so would the lethal stuff taste as bad as the potassium supplement and such? With Al, Rosario injected the stuff into his IV, right? Was it the same stuff that Al's dad sipped through the straw?

Do we know what particular potassium containing substance is involved? It can' be potassium cyanide, that's hardly untraceable, right?

I think my grandmother used a Potassium based salt substitute where the "salty" taste was off, but not unbearable.

And speaking of K, Coach K is going to send his team into action later tonight. I need him to win if my Blue Devils are going to advance further than my Niece's VCU Rams or UNC Tarheels this year.

Chris in FL

Chris, I think it isn't that the potassium is untraceable, but that when one dies of an overdose, the symptoms mimic a heart attack and no one looks into it closer to find out that it was actually an overdose and not a heart attack.

Chris- Chayo told Juarez that Isa asked her to kill Al. Her accusations, plus Al's ravings about her trying to kill him, were the reasons why Juarez questioned Isa about Al's death. But Tolentino gave her an alibi her for the car crash, and Chayo couldn't prove that Isa asked her to off Al, when she herself admitted that she did it because Al asked her to.

We are still waiting on the cleaned up audio of Al and Isa's conversation, and for the phone records of Julian's calls to Dion. I hope the writers haven't forgotten them. Why are they taking so long?

Oh yeah, and the lab results of the drops.

Congrats soon-to-be-abuela again Jardinera. Whenever I think of grandparents and grandkids, I remember how Alex Haley calls their relationship a wonderful conspiracy.

Insightful conversation about the devil's desires. I am so ready for his house of cards to tumble.

Thanks and thanks! Man, this thing has run so long I hardly remembered the details about Rosario and the alibi with Juarez. The recording will come in handy then, won't it! Glad somebody has a computerized memory!

Felicitaciones, abuela.
How wonderful for you and your family, Jardinera! Enjoy every minute of it.

TL

P.S. I am voting for a boda's interruptus myself!
=========
Bring on the break-in for the burgled briefcase! That is going to call for a popcorn and beer-fest!

I'm hoping that the wedding doesn't get that far along. I want Nat to walk in on Yago with another woman. But I've already bought my bottle of good Cabernet for the break in.

I have a bottle of Yago Sangria for the wedding...

Thanks sooo much for the recap, what a delight, and congrats on the upcoming addition to the family.
Isadora and Cay play their parts so well. I noticed how similar Mir and Cam are (except in the way they dress). They are both strong, no-nonsense and charming, and Anna is attached to both, except that she prefers Cam's dress style. It makes sense that Dan and Mar love them both.

Let's hope that the Luzma storyline is quickly fixed, New Girl's involvement is a bit of a stretch, almost as if they brought her into the show and were not quite sure what to do with her so the writers came up with the surrogate wife role. Maybe I'm wrong since I felt the same way about the former Brat Girl.

Yola

Yola, I thought the same about New Girl and Bratgirl. Maybe they're relatives of the producer or he owes their parents a favor so he gave them a speaking part in the TN. Both of them seemed quite unnecessary to the story. Although Bratgirl has finally had some usefulness, albeit late in t he game.

Jardinera - Thanks for all the fabulous detailing. Congrats on your upcoming grandbaby!

Enjoyed reading all the comments. Add me to the list of admirers of Hipolito (Luis Gatica). In the Mexican crime drama El Pantera, Gatica played a corrupt district attorney, always dressed in a dark suit and tie with his hair smoothed back. So different from the roles I've seen him play in TNs.

I think I went a little overboard with the HP list--it's growing like kudzu.

Ileana is becoming human.
Dan and Mariano have a heart-to-heart.
Mariano is honest with Cam.
Rafa has changed a little toward Roman.
Cam tells Luz to go back to the therapist for a different treatment.

Mariano has to keep Cam from attacking Dio—a couple of times.
Budgekin siting.

Cam listened to Viewerville and said they need to trace the checks.
Budgekin siting.

Cam finally learns the truth about Dio’s trussing Agustina up.
Dio might actually be pushing Iago to his breaking point.
Sounds like Gaston may have something on Dio.
Finally Agustina says something helpful—she overheard Dio say he did something to force Cholito to change her testimony re: Isa.
More Agustina help: she mentions the briefcase, where it is and that Os wrote down the password.
Dan starts telling Nat some hard truths.
Big LMQ family group hug.
Dan continues to tell Nat the truth.
Mar tells Caye about Isa and Dio’s involvement in Agustina’s trouble. He reminds his dad that Rocio really loves him and ask him to test Isa’s love.
Dan puts the caboose on the truth train and tells Nat Dio is involved in forcing Iago to marry her.
Hipolito comes up with a plan to steal the briefcase. HP if he succeeds. Major LP if he doesn’t.

Low Points:

Ileana is in love with Iago?
Dio’s smugness, arrogance and I’m just sorry we’re still too far from the end for him to get his NOW.
Pablo has to tell Nana and his mother that he and Luz are separating and he’s going back to the townhouse (and we know who his neighbor is: Substitute Wife).
Cam blows off Dan and calls Dio.
Leo seems to be planning his escape (HP if he only goes after Isa—not likely, though).
Dio is beyond repugnant. “I, I, I”???

Cam asks Dan to sign over his part of LMQ to her right away in case she needs it to free her mother.
Did I mention that I hate Dio?
Nat still believes in Dio even though the whole freakin’ world has told her that he’s a bad man.

I’m beginning to think that Aaron is a busybody.

Piedad wants to put off the wedding and hopes they won’t have to leave LMQ.
Pablo and Luz have a sad, wordless, accidental meeting.
NG continues to make moves on Pablo-but is playing it a little more subtly.
Dan tells Nat about the recording implicating Isa in Cam’s kidnapping and asks the twit to keep it secret from Iago.
Like the twit she is, Nat is going to ask Dio about Iago.

Thanks for your list Nanette. ITA about Dio and his anvil not coming soon enough. Your comments on little Agatha were funny too.

I didn't want to ruin the perfect 100 comments, but I must tell you Nanette how much I enjoyed your lists.

ITA with all your Dio comments. I was LOL at your comment about Aaron being a busybody.

Nanette, I enjoyed this week's HP/LP list, esp. "Cam listened to Viewerville and said they need to trace the checks."

My guess/hope is that Leoncerdo will get killed after he goes after Hissadora. If he manages to get some revenge against her before he dies, that will definitely belong on an upcoming HP list. (This assumes, of course, that he never gets anywhere near Luzma.)

Outstanding Highs and Lows, Nanette! So many great lines....Nat the twit, all references to Ileana and her mojo juice, the "I hate Dio" references, and so, so many more.

NG's advances towards Pablo seem kind of half-hearted to me. Glad she told Luzma to stop asking her about it.

I think NG realizes that if she just came right out and came on to Pablo in an obvious way, he would shut her down real quick. This way, she gets to act like she's just being "friendly".

Thanks guys for all the kind words re: the lists.

Viewerville: The Questtion: is NG being more subtle or is she really ambivalent about going after Pablo?

My vote: I abstain. I really don't know!!!!

Nanette- I think she really wants Pablo, but she's also smart enough to realize she's fighting a losing battle, so she's not fighting that hard. She isn't delusional like so many "spare girls" in tns are. She knows Pablo loves Luzma and doesn't, and will never, have eyes for anyone else. Now, if only Luzma realized that too...

Vivi: I agree that she wants Pablo. I'm just not sure what her actions are showing us. She definitely isn't delusional, which is refreshing.

Nanette: Another great and chuckle-worthy listing.
My high's averaged more than the lows this week, but here they are:

Lowwwwwwws--
Dio easily gets out of the lame plan to fingerprint him.

Dan has the tickets for Chile.

Cam asks Dan to sign over his part of LMQ to her right away in case she needs it to free her mother.

==========================
Highs--

Dan starts telling Nat some hard truths.

Cam slaps Dio (I wanted her to also spit in his face—pi** him off royally).

Dan has put on his thinking cap and tells Os to put a provision in the transfer that LMQ has to remain a working ranch, etc. for three years or the transfer is null and void.

Jardinera, sorry to jump in so late in the day. Your recap was stellar. So many bright moments, but you had me at the "banana peel" And ¡felicitaciones! for the new grandbaby.

I'm a little behind the 8-ball here, 'cause my mom took a turn for the worse on Friday, but things are stabilizing a bit. So fingers crossed!

Lots of great comments: cathyx's list of "can't wait for"s, Nanette's fabulous HP/LP, which reads like a comprehensive mini-recap; and Vivi's advice: ..."so I'm just going to sit back and let the final weeks action unfold."

The other thing I loved was Daniel and the "truth train". It's about time! Now for a little supper and I'll jump on the old exercise bike and watch with you all. —Agnes
