Amor Bravío #139 (Uni 134) Tue 3/5/13 La Malquerida is spared while Hissadora takes one giant step toward the Anvil.
Labels: bravio
And QTH? No scenes with Rodolfo*sigh*??? I'm miffed.
I also continue to vote that Omar has a heart. I think that he only poisoned some of the bulls, and that he "let" the vaccines in without sabotage.
With Daniel asking what are you doing here, he may think that he's at his house. No se ...
Per a comment from yesterday's discussion I think that the main drama for the <30 remaining episodes is going to be about El Diablo's obsession with Camila and all other main anvils Acme has prepared for these characters.
See you later; I'm wiped.
I so enjoyed Dioniosio foiled again, as in where the heck is the vaccine, Omar. Too bad that Omar picked up on the fingerprint problem.
So many anvils, so many characters we want to be happy. Lots of work through in the next few weeks.
ITA with netgirl. Dan was looking straight ahead and saw Camila, not to his right side where Miriam is standing. Miriam didn't seem to notice, but Cam sure did.
It was nice to see Pablo and Luzma confide in people they trust. Maybe Pablo should also be seeing Luzma's psychologist? I think it would be good for him too. But I am very happy he is not opening up to Mayalen. That's the way affairs really start. First it's an emotional affair-- sharing things with the person that you should be sharing with your spouse- and then it turns physical. Best not to even allow the emotional intimacy.
It was also nice to see Cam and Vivi have some time for girl talk. Too bad they were interrupted.
Traveling Lady- I don't know where pokey originates, but hoosegow comes from Spanish, and from Mexico specifically-- el juzgado. Pretty cool, huh?
Thanks, Vivi, and enjoy your "snow day". I had been dreaming of the same for north Jersey, but so far nada. Off to work I go!
Anita- I'm looking forward to our Cinco de Mayo outing!
"the ex-banshee" & "Battle of the thoughtbubbles at La Delegacion".
Are those the same coolers they used to transport the virus. Multi-purpose!
@TL hoosegow is a gringo pronunciation of the Spanish word juzgado, meaning courtroom, and by extension, prison [ from past participle of juzgar, to judge]
I think we are supposed to be confused about who is being called "mi amor". It makes for more of a cliffhanger, especially coming at the end of the episode.
And as for Omar, perhaps the overhearing will make him realize he's on a sinking ship. He could get outta Dodge while the getting is good, or he could trade evidence for good time. Criminals and loyalty only go so far. And it's becoming evident that Dio's Dynasty is developing leaks

She was worried about the weather and your report this morning is not what she wanted to hear. I hope all goes well on her return trip.
Seriously, how did Mariano and Pablo turn out the way they did? Refugio must have had a large part in raising Mariano and imparting her values-- first borns seem to have close ties with their nanas. And Mariano must have had a large part in raising Pablo and imparting those same values.
Most of the dictionaries say origin unknown for pokey but one says "in a slang sense, to confine" dates to 1919. I guess to poke in la carcel, thus pokey.
I just looked at a bunch of sites for pokey. It's mostly a mystery, but a few sites think it comes from pogey, which meant workhouse/poorhouse in late 19th century English slang. That makes a certain amount of sense.
In any case, I hope Isa is in the pokey for a long time. But it looks like star witness Dona Chonita is about to run into some trouble, in the form of Dio and his henchies. They need to put her in witness protection, now.
I enjoyed all the riffs on "Cayetano", including Cayetansolo. And I especially liked your description of Hissadora "always quick on her little claws."
Agnes, I too was/am thinking that perhaps Omar will bail out both because he has no desire to go down with the sinking SS Dionisio and also, perhaps, because he's got more of a moral sense than his boss. So perhaps his hearing about the fingerprints won't get reported back to El Diablo.
I sure hope that Camila listened to Vivi and did take the vaccine herself. I don't think I could stand exchanging Dan at death's door for Camila.
Oy, Numbskull Natalia is still as starry-eyed as ever. Girl, when even your novio's mother calls him difficult and uncaring, you should pay careful attention.
Hmmm...I wonder whether Abe arranged for a private plane to land at a different airport not only so that the vaccine would arrive more quickly but so that it would arrive at all. He knows that Dionisio is up to no good.
I agree with LXV that we're probably supposed to be a bit confused about who Dan is referring to when he says te amo. But the blurred image we saw through his eyes did indeed look like Camila. Miriam, though, will assume he's addressing her, not Camila. Like netgirl, I'm wondering whether Dan in his confusion may soltar la sopa.
Traveling Lady, don't despair. If the forecasts down here in Maryland/DC are correct, you're likely to get a snow day tomorrow.
So glad Mariano stood up to Papa. How ciego, sordo, y tonto can he be?
I too thought Daniel was seeing Camila when he said, "Te amo," and I thought "Que hace aqui" meant in this context "What's going on here?"
I did think Omar let those vaccines go through, and his statement about them being detained for at least a week was to give them time to do their magic. Wonder if he'll tell Dio what he overheard at the police station.
So great to see Dio squirm on a pretty regular basis right now. Now, Leo has to take care of Isa big time.
TG it came in by private plane. I was hoping Gaston would stick around, he is cute & we could use another guapo love interest.
Omar has done too many bad deeds to be redeemed, unless he turns against Dionicio & provides evidence, which it kind of looks might happen.
I also wanted Gaston to stick around for a bit, but he does have important work to do in Chile. Liked seeing him in a cool leather jacket, instead of those suit jackets that are always too short for his long arms. :) Maybe when she's back in Chile, nurse Caridad can get to know Gaston...
Ah, yes; Caridad needs a love interest. One who will take her to a restaurant with lots of good, rich food.
Nat continues to boggle my mind. Does she really think she can sway Yago to come visit his mother? Has she not seen his behavior these past several months?
I'm really confused on Omar and the airport and the vaccines. Was he expecting a commercial flight? Did Dionisio not hear about the private plane angle?
LOL! But Camila bought the furniture, so what does that mean? Is that the equivalent of deflowering him?
Cathyx- They say the best way to tell how a man will treat you down the road is to see how he treats his mama. Well, Nat just learned that Yago has not visited him mother since she had a major stroke! What the heck should that tell her? It's not even like the lies she told affected him directly-- it was Pablo who was affected, and he's the one caring for her. But Nat wants to keep those blinders on.
So Omar was at the wrong airport? I feel they could have done better story-telling there to make that clear for us.
I don't think it was supposed to be clear to the audience about the airport thing. They wanted us to worry about Dio preventing the vaccines from getting to the ranch.
UA: I agree with you re: Cam/Dio being the main drama. I just hope they don't go the TN cliche route and have a kidnapping. Unless someone kidnaps her to keep her safe. I wouldn't mind seeing that.
I guess I must like Rocio now, because she looks more attractive to me. I think she got a new haircut since the stroke.
Poor Nat. Is is possible she'll wake up when she sees Yago's reaction when she asks him to visit his mom?
Tonight and tomorrow episodes are must see.
Myo-
I don’t think Caridad needs rich food. She could use a session with the “What Not to Wear” folks, however.
Omar was startled several episodes ago when Dio told him to poison the bulls. I think cracks are starting to show, but he’ll be loyal until he has to save his own hide.
I’ve been confused about the airport they’ve been using for some time, but figured it was a beanie wearing situation. Miriam and her entourage arrived by airport car, which would be a heck of a long way from Juarez, the Mexico City airport, like 2-3 hours, depending on traffic. I was surprised by that, but what do I know about how the super rich travel. Then Dan took Abe to the Toluca airport, which is perhaps a bit closer, like a 1 or 2 hour drive (that’s a guess and Toluca can have ferocious traffic as well), but it made no sense to me at all. It may be an international airport, but it is primarily used for domestic flights and sure wouldn’t have direct flights to Chile. The same for Caye and Isa going to the Bahamas; it would make no sense to fly out Toluca instead of Juarez. I figured it was some sort of PSA or promotional deal for using the new airport in Toluca as an alternative to the super busy Juarez.
It seems to me that Dio didn’t get the message about the private jet. I think that most Mexicans would assume that an international flight was going to land at Juarez, so maybe the writers felt it didn’t need explaining.
OK, I just checked and according to wiki, Toluca has only a few international flights, all to the US: Las Vegas, San Antonio, Dallas/FW, and Fort Lauderdale. Cargo service to Memphis. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lic._Adolfo_L%C3%B3pez_Mateos_International_Airport
Maybe NG isn’t mini-evil. She definitely doesn’t know boundaries—speaking to Cam in the informal and telling info to Iago that was LMQ confidential. Maybe that’s all it is with her.
“Todo” seemed to be Dio’s favorite word this ep.
It looks like Caye is going to cause the delay Padre A., Amanda and Viewerville wanted for Nat’s wedding.
I like that Pablo didn’t just burst out with his highly personal stuff, like the American soaps do, telling everything to everybody. I like that he hesitated.
Flaco translated what Pablo said to Mariano re: Luz and his marriage a little harsher than you, Paquita. I was mad at Pablo for awhile, now I feel better. Pablo needs to go to the therapist, too, both with and without Luz. Now that she is feeling the way she is, she is ripe to misinterpret a situation between Pablo and NG. We know Pablo won’t stray, but if NG continues to flirt with him, Luz could build up scenarios in her head.
Really liked Amanda’s lace jacket she was wearing at Luz/Pablo’s house.
Though I didn’t understand a word they were saying, I loved the little thought bubble war of words between Leo and Isa.
Now on to the comments.
Nanette
I like that Pablo was honest about his own frustration, and real about how the whole situation could ruin his marriage (it could). But he made it clear that his real concern is Luzma's suffering.
I don't have much to add here today, but I'm looking forward to seeing what Isadora is able to do with prison attire.

This TN has had fewer beanie moments than most.
They seem to have gone out of their way repeatedly to specify characters using the Toluca airport and I did think it was a PSA, even though I was pretty sure it didn't have service to some of the places people were supposed to be going or even any logical connections. (We can add Ana's flight from Zacatecas to that list, too.) It's a newly expanded airport and they need people to start to think of using it instead of Juarez. Okay. I don't have a problem with that, either. However, they are not really being that helpful if they are implying the airport has services that it doesn't actually have.
Okay. I'll buckle up my beanie now. Damn those script writers!
Omar definitely was at the wrong airport. Mariano even mentioned it to Miriam. He said he had assumed the vaccines would come in at the other, larger one but was glad it came in at this one. Miriam said, "yes, I'm sure Abram figured it would be better and faster (to get through customs) here." That made me realize right away that Omar was at the wrong airport. It would have been great to have Omar let them through, though.
Poor Natalia "Iago will do anything for me!" assuring her future MIL she would get a visit from her selfish son soon - she'll surely get an earful from the jerk as soon as she mentions it to him.
Soyyo
It's currently 79˚ in Aculco and 77˚ in Metepec. I've tried to remove them from my saved cities but there must be some glitch because it won't let me do it. I've hit the delete button many times and yet there they are on my home page telling me how wonderfully warm it is in Mexico while it's 37˚ where I live and a snow/rain nor'easter is arriving late tonight. :(
¡Ay últimos capítulos! ¿Qué voy a hacer? I wasn't so sure about AB when I first started watching it but I was pleasantly surprised. So glad I stuck with it.
Soyyo- I really wondering what it will take for Nat to have an aha moment about Yago.
Still no snow, Juanita. Sounds like you guys took the big east coast hit so far.
Vivi: "thought bubble war" LOL!
That's what I love about this blog. Everyone is respectful and funny and interesting and would be that way even if there weren't the simple common courtesy rules that there are on this board (frankly, after the experiences I've had on IMDb, I think there should be common courtesy rules on all boards).
