Caray, Caray!

Buenaventura

Mariano continues his efforts to warn his father against the evil vamp known to us a Hissadora.  Cayetansordo refuses to heed his sons warning.  He can’t believe his loverly Hissie would be capable of such an atrocious (atroz) act as murdering a priest!  Mariano isn’t ready to accuse her of murder but he thinks she’s hiding something.  Now he lays it on him that Refugio saw Dionicio visiting Hissadora while she was staying in Metepec.  Cayetansordo is aghast!  His Hisse has no dealings with Agustina’s husband.  How would that be possible when all the Monterdes hate her?  Mariano feels Refugio would have no reason to lie.  He only asks that his father open his eyes and take precautions.  Cayetansiego thinks its simply a case of mistaken identity by Refugio.  She’s an old woman and no longer sees well (uh, pot calling kettle…..).  Mariano is frustrated and suggests that possibly it’s Cayetansiego who refuses to see.  Caretantarugo: “ Hissadora is now my wife and as such I respect her and support her.  I can’t judge her.  Even the authorities haven’t found her responsible yet, and you should do the same!”  Mariano urges him to be careful and revoke the control her gave her over the property.  That did it, Cayetansiego is outraged and slams his hand on the desk, “Basta!  Hissadora is an honest woman!  She’s given me some incredible moments (oof!).  As soon as she’s out of the pokey, she’ll live here.  So you need to think about whether or not you want to continue to live under the same roof as her.  From this day forward she is the dueña and Señora of this house.”  Mariano stares him square in the face and tells him, “Fine, don’t worry about it.  By the time she arrives, Ana and I will have moved out!”  He leaves. So, let’s see, Pablo’s already out, Yago’s just about out, so now he’s Cayetansolo! 

La Malquerida

Dionicio is on the phone with Omar who explains he’s still at the airport.  The flight’s just arrived and he’s at customs waiting for the vaccines and he’ll make sure they don’t get through.  He’ll let him know as soon as the vaccines have been detained.  Dionicio’s perturbed.  

Town

Irene and Luzma share a little girl talk. Luzma swears her to secrecy and then pours out her heart about the lack of marital intimacy with her husband.  At first, it was because of the miscarriage and now it was because it brought back awful memories about what happen with her uncle.  She already spoke with the therapist who assured her it’s normal for victims of rape to react this way.  Luzma’s afraid she may not be able to overcome this and Pablo will eventually get tired of this.  She’s afraid she may not be able to give Pablo the happiness he deserves.  

La Malquerida

Pablo arrives at the office and Mayalen is already there.  She tells him she looked for him to carpool but he was already gone.  Pablo explains he wanted to distract himself by taking an early ride and left early.  He tells her there’s nothing going on.  She reminds him she’s there for him.  He can tell her anything.  (ruh-roh, there goes my spidey sense again – stay away from him,  you junior vamp, you)  He thanks her but repeats that everything is fine.  (good boy!)  He asks about the vaccines and they get back to business.  (way to diffuse the vamping, Pablo!)

Cam’s Cabaña

Ozzie has come by to tell Cami about Hissadora’s arrest!  Agustina overhears and is shocked to hear Hissadora stands accused of Padre Baldomero’s murder!  Cam explains Leoncerdo was able to confess that Hissadora hired him to kill the good padre and when he failed, Hissadora finished the job.  She also explains there’s a witness who saw her enter the Hostal at the same time as Padre was murdered.  Agustina can’t believe it.  That woman, Hissdora, knows no limts.  Imagine anyone wanting to murder a priest.  Ozzie explains the theory that Hissadora wanted Baldomero dead because he had discovered the plot between her and Alonso to provide Daniel’s falsified death certificate.  Ozzie explains Amanda may also need to testify.  She was able to communicate with Baldomero and he had told her someone from LMQ had tried to kill him.  Agustina thinks this somehow proves Hissadora really did intend to kill Camila.  Camila doesn’t think there’s enough evidence to accuse her since the vaquero that called her over to look at the “sick” bull is no longer in the area.  Agustina says Hissadora is the devil!  She doesn’t know why it should surprise herwhen Hissadora was also accused of trying to kill Alonso in that accident, the accident that killed her Ximena.  Camila tries to console her by saying that Hissadora will hopefully begin to pay for her crimes.  Agustina wholeheartedly agrees. 

Hoosegow

Speak of the devil (jaja!), she’s visited by her attorney and Cayetantonto.  Ever the dutiful hubby, Cayetantarugo is there with a blankie and a paper sack of goodies for the little woman.  Her attorney advises her he tried to post bail but there’s no way to get her out of here until all the evidence against her has been heard.  Only then can they see if there is any legal recourse.  Hissadora wonders how this can be when she’s innocent!  The attorney basically says he’s just doing his job.  She can be held for 72 hours and he’ll do what he can to escalate whatever he can.  Hissadora can’t believe they’re giving more weight to a woman who doesn’t even know her (the witness), a crook (he-who-shall-not-be-name), or Daniel Diaz Acosta who is supposedly dying!  Suddenly lucid Cayetano wonders how she know about Daniel’s illness?  She tries to gaslight him, telling him he told her.  Nooooo, Cayetano just found out this morning from Mariano but he never told her.  She then says someone around here must’ve said something.  Bottom line, it can’t be that they have more of a say in this than she does!  Attorney reminds her there are three witnesses, it won’t be easy.  He’ll do his best to discredit them to show their testimony isn’t enough to find her guilty.  “I’m not!  So it should be easy for you to prove it!”  Attorney wisely chooses to leave now before her claws can shred him to pieces.  Cayetano hands over his gifts.  Hissadora:  “This place is horrible.  I wouldn’t wish it on anyone.  It’s obvious that Daniel’s hatred for me has no limits.”  Cayetano agrees it appears she has a few enemys. (duh, ya think?)  He now dares to ask her about Dionicio’s visits to her at the hotel.  He explains Refugio saw him enter her room. Always  quick on her little claws, she explains she has no connections with Dionicio, but he did have one with Alonso.  Cayetano: “duh, is that why Refugio saw him with you?”  Hissadora assures him that’s the case and then she’s “hurt” to even think he could be influenced by others against her.  Why, she would just die if he were to turn against her!  He’s the only thing she has left, the only thing that keeps her going.   Well, the blinders are now securely over his eyes once again and Cayetansiego kisses her hands as she thoughtbubbles:  “Dionicio has to help me get out of here.  If I go down, he goes down with me!”

La Malquerida

Dionicio leaves the den and Agustina literally runs up to him, giving him the news that Hissadora stands accused of murdering the good Padre Baldomero.  Dion thoughtbubbles, “No puede ser!  If they’re able to prove her responsible, they’ll know everything. No way am I going to end up like her!”  Agustina keeps blabbing on about how Hissadora’s in jail and she hopes she’ll stay there forever!  For once, Dionicio is speechless.   

Toluca Airport

The fair Maid Miriam waits with Mariano for the vaccines.  She’s anxious for their arrival.  Mariano explains the exhaustive health measures taken to bring the vaccines through.  Mariano is sure her brother also realized her anxiety in wanting the vaccines to reach Daniel immediately.  He originally thought the vaccines would arrive on a commercial flight to Mexico City and not to Toluca on a private plane.  Miriam is certain her brother thought of all that to ensure it would arrive faster.  She thanks Mariano for accompanying her to the airport.  She assumes he must be busy with a lot to do.  He admits he had a busy morning scheduled but this is more important.  He then explains about his buffoon of a father marrying a woman who is sure to be all wrong for him.  In order to avoid any problems, he’s decided to move out.  He explains about his house on the back 40 but it’s not finished yet.  Camila had promised to help with the décor but with everything that’s happened, she obviously hasn’t had time.  Miriam promises that as soon as Daniel is well and while they wait to return to Chile, he can count on her to help.  (do I hear Cupid’s little wings fluttering as he prepares his arrow?)  The vaccines finally arrive.  Gaston provides instructions and the paperwork.  She gives him a message to ask Abraham to call, she needs to speak with him about something urgent.  He agrees and leaves to return to Chile.  He had promised Abraham to personally hand over the vaccines to her and he’s completed his task. She thanks him for helping to save Daniel’s life.  Mariano calls Camila. 

Cam’s Cabaña

Camila thanks God.  Vivi and Rafa walk in and she gives them the good news.  She starts to give out instructions.  Rafa leaves to carry them out.  Vivi sees the change in Camila’s face.  Camila’s just happy Daniel will surely recover.  Camila notices something’s up with Vivi and asks her to come out with it already.  Vivi admits something is wrong.  Cami admits she also has something to share.  Apparently Miriram has found out a few things, but she wants to hear Vivi’s news first.

LMQ Den

Dion is pacing frantically, on the phone with Rufino.  He wants Hissadora’s case thoroughly investigated.  He explains she’s detained in the Alculco delegación.  He needs to know about the evidence, who’s accusing her, everything!  He wants that info now! 

Pablo/Luzma Home

Refugio is on the phone with Amanda.  She’s calling on Rocio’s behalf.  Rocio has heard about the wedding and the blessed event and wants to meet Natalia.  Amanda signals to Natalia who definitely doesn’t want to meet the ex-banshee.  Amanda frankly tells Refugio that Rocio wasn’t very nice to Luzma when she married Pablo and she wouldn’t want Natalia to suffer the same fate.  Refugio assures her Rocio is a changed woman and won’t reject her.  Rocio tells Refugio to convey that they shouldn’t be afraid of her.  Refugio explains they’re now living with Luzma and Pablo.  Nati and Amanda can come visit them there.  Amanda  agrees to pass on the info.  If Nati agrees, she’ll call.  Rufi tells  Rocio she’s not sure Nati will come over.  She reminds her that she really hurt Luzma.  Not everyone is as forgiving. You reap what you sow and now they must wait. 

Amanda’s Hostal

Nati asks Mom’s advice.  She doesn’t know what to do.  Amanda thinks she should go.  Rocio is the one who’s reaching out.  Perhaps the stroke caused her to change as Rufi thinks.  Nati reluctantly agrees to go but wants Mums to come with her. 

Buenaventura

Cayetano returns to his office to find his last remaining son waiting for him.  Yago wants to talk about the ceremonial “asking for the hand in marriage”, saying he thinks it would be best for them to go to LMQ to ask Dionicio for her hand.  Cayetano erupts.  He can’t believe Yago can think of asking for the hand of “esa muchachita” while Hissadora is being held.  He doesn’t want to discuss that right now.  Yago starts to protest, but Cayetano shuts him down, saying Yago is the same selfish lout he’s always been and only thinking of himself.  It doesn’t matter one bit what is happening to others.  Yago protests and says it’s just that this issue with Hissadora could last some time.  After all, they don’t need her to ask for Nati’s hand.  Oh, Cayetano disagrees.  Hissadora is his wife and she will go everywhere he does.  Until she’s free, they will not be going to LMQ to ask for Nati’s hand, or anywhere else for that matter.   “Are we clear?” Yago pouts and then pounces into action, “No, it’s not.  Hissdora stands accused of murdering Padre Baldomero!  Have you no idea of the gravity of this situation?  I would think that after this, you’re not going to stay with her, right?”  Cayetansiego most assuredly does plan to stay with her.  She’s innocent.  No, says Yago, they still need to prove that.  Cayetano now says he’ll tell him the same thing he told Mariano who has decided to leave the house.  If Yago doesn’t like it and doesn’t accept Hissadora, then he should do as his brother has and abandon Buenaventura! 

Camila’s Cabaña

We come back to Vivi and Camila.  Vivi is surprised to hear Miriam’s found out some of Daniel’s story.  Camila is just as surprised Vivi and Rafa are having troubles.  She advises her to fight for this relationship.  They love each other right?  Vivi agrees she loves Rafa but it’s become complicated.  Camila jokes that no one ever said relationships or marriage were going to be easy.  She points out that Vivi and Rafa are free to be together and they should make the most of it (aprovechar).  As she continues with her advice, Miriam, Mariano, and Rafa come bursting in with the coolers containing the vaccine.  Miriams begs her to save her husband’s life.  Camila  takes Miriam by the hand and thanks her, not only for what she’s done for Daniel, but also for saving her livestock and LMQ.  She’s indebted to her.  Miriam says she’s the one indebted to Camila as she put her very life at risk to care for her husband.  She’ll never forget it.  Daniel wouldn’t have survived without her help.

Camila gets to work right away so she can give Daniel the vaccine.  Miriam plans to stay and see how Daniel reacts.  Camila asks Vivi to keep Miriam company and then asks Mariano and Rafa to help with the coordination to vaccinated the livestock.  She’s all action but stops before going to Daniel and thanks Miriam again, saying she’ll do everything to save him.  Vivi introduces herself to Miriam. We see Camila injecting Daniel and telling him he’ll be well very soon.

Mariano and the rest of the vaqueros work to vaccinate the bulls as Rafa documents everything on his tablet.

Dionicio’s Home Office

Dionicio’s on the phone with Rufino who says it hasn’t been easy getting the facts.  He’s still at the police station and has had to pay out a lot of money (lana [slang]).  Dionicio doesn’t care about the lana, he wants to know what the he found out.  Rufino tells him he knows Daniel was the first accuser but there are two more.  One from a Soledad Garcia aka Doña Chonita and another written by he-who-shall-not-be-named.   Dionicio is surprised to learn he’s learned to write. He asks about the other one. Rufino tells him there’s  a neighbor of the Hostal who saw a woman fitting Hissadodra’s description leaving the Hostal the day and at the time Padre Baldomero died.  He can’t say if she’s sure it was Hissadora.  He doesn’t know anything about this last accuser but now he’s heard of a 4^th accuser who just came forward this morning.  Her name is…….Amanda Jimenez! Dionicio can’t believe it.  He orders Rufino to get the deets on that other lady, he wants to know everything! 

The Pokey

Juarez and Aaron visit he-who-shall-not-be-named.  Juarez explains he’ll have a face to face (careo) with Hissadora.  Aaron offers to be with him to ensure he can write everything he wants to say.  He asks if he’s up to it.  He gets a grunt and a laugh in response.  Juarez wants to know when they can start.  He-who-shall-not-be-named writes “OI” on his notepad.  It takes a couple of tries, but Sherlock Juarez and Aaron Watson  finally figure out he means “hoy”. 

Back at the Ranch (LMQ)

Mariano is taking a breather and Pablo joins him.  They’ve had a rough day and Pablo shares it’s worse since he hasn’t slept well.  Mariano knows something’s bothering him and asks him to just tell him or he’ll worry more.  Pablo hesitates but does tell his big bro about the problem he and Luzma are having in the bedroom because of he-who-shall-not-be-named.  She’s still seeing a therapist but hasn’t been able to overcome (superar) this.  He knows he needs to be patient but he can’t stand to see her suffer this way.  Besides, they have to live as man and wife, not brother/sister.  He won’t deny how frustrated he is.  He loves and desires Luzma will all his soul.  But if she can’t overcome this, he’s afraid his marriage will suffer. 

Church

Luzma is discussing this same subject with Padre Anselmo.  She feels one gets married in order to be with one’s partner in every sense.  Also to have children.  How can they have children if she can’t get past this?  Padre counsels her, saying last night’s bad experience doesn’t have to define her entire marriage.  He’s sure this is a temporary setback.  With help of the therapist, Pablo’s love, and her strength, she will overcome this.  Luzma plays Negative Nancy and wonders what will happen if that doesn’t come to pass.  Why should she ask Pablo to waste his time with her?  Padre doesn’t agree Pablo is wasting his time.  She can’t give up.  Luzma denies she will but they can’t overlook the possibility that she may not overcome her trauma.  Padre advises her to stop speculating and talk to Pablo.  He’s sure this is a problem they can overcome.  Luzma shares this was the same advice from the therapist but she’s just so tired of all this.  And if she feels that way, Pablo must be feeling the same way.  She doesn’t want to be a burden to him.  He tells her again not to speculate and not give in to negative thoughts. 

Pablo/Luzma Home

Nati and Amanda have come to visit with Rocio.  Refugio makes the necessary introductions.  Rufi sings Luzma’s praises.  Speaking of Luzma, Rufi is worried she hasn’t returned yet.  Rocio offers them coffee and Amanda leaves to help her.  Nati and Rocio are left alone.  Rocio brings up the subject of marriage.  Nati continues in her starry eyed fog.  She’s hopelessly in love with Yago and now she knows he loves her too. (HA!)  In her state, Rocio still manages to complain that Yago still hasn’t forgiven her.  He hasn’t even come to see her, not even in the hospital.  Oh, Natie will have a talk with him and suggest they come together.  Rocio wonders if she can convince him.  Natie seems to think she has a way of convincing him to do things for her (She doesn’t realize Daddy’s henchmen are behind her requests).  She guarantees he’ll come see Rocio very soon.

Camila’s Cabaña

Camila leaves Daniel’s bedside and reports he had no negative reactions to the vaccine.  She admits to Vivi she hasn’t taken the vaccine herself (clue?).  Camila thinks it will be another 2-3 hours to see some improvements but assures Miriam everything should be ok.  Miriam doesn’t plan to leave and asks for the phone number to the cabin so she can leave it with the nanny.  Vivi offers to write it down for her and insists Camila take the vaccination.  Camila empathizes with Miriam.  She knows these next few hours will be difficult but she’s grateful the vaccines arrived in time.  Her self-injection gets interrupted (ruh-roh) because the tele is dead – oh snap!  In all the excitement the tele hasn’t been recharged.  Vivi offers to take Miriam to the big house to make the call and Cami can stay here and take the vaccine. We finally see her prepare the syringe for herself.

 

Dionicio’s House

Omar arrives at Dionicio’s den.  Dionicio anxiously asks if he was able to detain the vaccines.  Er, not exactly.  Omar informs him the vaccines weren’t on the plane, maybe they’ll be on tomorrow’s flight.  Dionicio makes sure Omar knows what to do once they arrive.  Omar gave very clear instructions that the vaccines can’t be released for at least 1 week.  Dionicio sends him off to the police station.  He wants Omar to relieve Rufino and have him report back to Dionicio’s office.  Omar is to stay at the station keep him informed about Hissadora.  Omar makes a face indicating… QTH?  Dionicio orders him to stop with the face and have Rufino bring him up to date so he can report back anything new.  Left alone, Dionicio talks to himself hoping those vaccines never arrive.  (haha, too late)

Pablo/Luzma Home

Nati continues to share her wedding plans with Rocio, saying they haven’t set a date.  They’re waiting for Cayetano to return from his honeymoon so Yago can formally ask for her hand.  She slows down as she says this last bit, knowing she’s put her foot in it.  She apologizes and says she would like to have Rocio there but feels it would be uncomfortable for Rocio to be around Hissadora.  Rocio feels Hissadora shameless and Amanda agrees.  She’s only brought harm to those around her.  She doesn’t even think Hissdora would want to come.  Nati is sure she’ll attend.  She’s Cayetano’s wife and he’s sure to bring her.  That’s not all, says Amanda.  She’s also been arrested!  She tells them Hissadora has been accused of Baldomero’s murder.  Rocio knew she’d be the ruin of everyone! 

Speak of the She-Devil

Her attorney has come to advise her and Cayetano that one of the witnesses has arrived.  Hissadora is ready to face her accuser.  She’s got nothing to hide.  Cayetano chimes in that he believes in her innocence.  She wonders who the accuser is and her attorney announces it’s He-Who-Shall-Not-be-Name!  Tan-tan-TAN!  The attorney will come for her as soon as he’s arrived.  She takes a big gulp and then says she’s ready whenever he is.  Cayetano admires her fortitude.

 

Delegación

Juarez is given the news that the fingerprints can’t be definitely matched between Dionicio Ferrer and Hector Gutierrez.  An original document for Dionicio Ferrer must be submitted.  The photocopy provided won’t work.  Uh-oh!  Omar heard this whole exchange! 

LMQ Main House

Vivi and Miriam enter.  Vivi explains how she met Rafa.  They talk about how love comes when one least expects it.  Vivi agrees that’s how it was with her and Rafa, just like it was with, er, well with a lot of couples.  Miriam eventually gets around to asking if Vivi met Daniel through Rafa.   Miriam notices Daniel was beginning to make a  life for himself in Mexicio.  And why not, he thought she was dead.  Vivi gets a sick look on her face.  Miriam  tells her she shouldn’t think she is trying to get information out of her.  She’s just trying to understand what happened to him when she wasn’t part of his life.  Vivi understands but says Daniel and Abraham asked them not to say anything.  Not so much to deceive her but to protect her in her frail state.  That’s what Miriam still doesn’t understand but oh well, Daniel and Abraham will tell her in time.  Vivi finally hands her the phone so they can get to what they came here for to begin with (to give the nanny the phone number to Cam’s Bungalow—I almost forgot!).  Vivi rolls her eyes in frustration at having been put to the test like this. 

Pablo and Luzma’s Home

Luzma finally returns and explains to Rufi that she had gone to visit with Irene.  Rufi explains they were a little worried about her.  She also tells her that Nati and Amanda came by to visit Rocio.  Rocio’s resting now.  Luzma tries to go get some shuteye as well but Rufi stops her with the dicho of the day, “Cuando un gallo no canta, es por que algo tiene en la garganta.”  (when a rooster doesn’t crow, it means something’s stuck in his throat)  She wonders what’s up with Luzma, why is she so sad?  Luzma denies this and doesn’t explain anything.  She goes off to rest.

Battle of the thoughbubbles at  La Delegacion

He-who=shall-not-be-name is staring at Hissadora through the bars.  She stares right back at him.  We hear his thoughts, “Mendiga vieja, this time you’r not going to get away, desgraciada.  You’re going to pay for everything you did to me.”  Not to be left out, Hissadora’s thoughts are heard as well, “I should have killed you when I had the chance.  It isn’t possible that although mute, you can cause me so much harm.”  He thoughbubbles back, “You’ll regret having cut out my tongue.” 

Camila’s Cabaña

Miriam and Vivi enter the bedroom and Cami gives them the good news that his pulse is strong and his fever is gone. Miriam goes to Daniel’s bedside as he comes to.  Camila has gone to stand by the door with Vivi.  Daniel appears to look at Miriam and we see a fuzzy Camila (is he thinking he’s looking at Camila?---I’m confused)  He finally speaks and says, “Mi Amor, que hace aqui?  Te Amo”
