Amor Bravío #141 (Uni 136) Thu 3/7/13 Amor Despierto

It's been quite a long day, so I'm going to be summarizing a lot more than usual.  I'll slow it down if anything really important comes up….

Dionisio knows that Agustina is working to get evidence that he's Hector Gutierrez.  Dio mentally vows revenge.  Agustina is jumpy when he comes into the room finally…her beanie may be slipping because she actually notices he's looking at her strangely.

Vivi, Rafa, and Aaron report on the day's progress at getting Isadora thrown in jail for good.  Leoncio's testimony just wasn't compelling enough, but hopefully Amanda's and her neighbor's will be.  Miriam enters and has Caridad bring baby Agatha (poor kid…that name's going to suck when she grows up) to the window so Daniel can wave and croak at her…good thing she's not in the room or that might have freaked her out.

Osvaldo will be at Amanda's early tomorrow to escort her to the police station to give her testimony.

Yago doesn't like his new stepmommy and really wants to get the hell out of Buenaventura.  Natalia's beanie may also be slipping as she finds it odd that Yago wants her to tell her dad that his dad won't be in the mood to come to a formal engagement ceremony until his murderous wife is out of jail.  Yago covers, saying Dio just seems really traditional, is all.  Natalia agrees with Yago that the only thing that matters is their love…screw tradition.  She misses his evil glare behind his coffee cup.

Refugio comes by Amanda's for some tea and a chat.  Amanda wonders if they can trust Ileana when she says that Yago is marrying Natalia under pressure.  Refugio doesn't know if Ileana lied or not, but she does know that Yago wasn't thrilled with the idea of being a daddy.  She thinks maybe it was a combination of pressure from Cayetano and a visit from Dionisio.  Neither Amanda nor Natalia knew about that visit.  It was after that chat that Yago suddenly changed his mind.  Amanda thinks Dio either threatened or bought Yago as a present for his daughter.  Refugio agrees that Yago does love power.  What she can't figure out is what's in it for Dio.  "Winning over his daughter by buying her a husband."  Refugio is worried about what their marriage is going to be like if Yago doesn't love Natalia.  Amanda is worried about Natalia's reaction when she finds out the truth.  But how to find out?  Amanda opts for calling Ileana, though Refugio doesn't trust her.

Camila is just wiped out.  Aaron reminds her that he, Rafa, and Vivi are there for her.  Rafa invites her to his book launch.  Camila is headed to bed and bids them all a good night.  Aaron really feels for Daniel's dilemma.  Aaron brings up Roman and Vivi is convinced that Rafa has already made up his mind not to adopt him.

Miriam is finishing her shift with Daniel and getting ready to hand him over to Camila.  Camila asks her for an account number so she can deposit the money she owes her for the vaccines, etc.  Miriam refuses to let Camila pay her back.  I mean, after all, she's paying her back with Daniel.  Camila appeals to Daniel to let her pay.  Daniel is stuck between a stubborn woman and a stubborn woman.  Miriam makes the compelling argument that Camila should use the money to replace the dead cows.  Miriam insists they are even.  Daniel warns Camila that Miriam won't back down.  Miriam says that anything you can buy with money is cheap.  It's all the stuff you can't buy with money that's really meaningful.  Camila ends up hugging her.  Such is the power of Miriam.

Mayalen is still trying to be buddies with Pablo.  He wishes her a good night without telling her what she wants to know.  Luzma was watching at the window and doesn't look happy.

Mariano tells his dad that he and Ana are leaving the house.  Ana is looking forward to babysitting Agatha.  She asks her grandfather why his wife isn't there.  She doesn't want him to be lonely.  She asks him if he wouldn't rather have her grandmother back than this new wife.  Cayetano is surprised to hear that Rocio is living in town with Pablo and Luzma.

Luzma tells Pablo she's worried he'll get tired of waiting for her to deal with her trauma.  Pablo thinks they'll have plenty of time--he just wants her to feel better.  *Cuddles*

Isadora is brought into the office to hear the testimony from Amanda and her neighbor.  Amanda testifies that Padre Baldomero was able to communicate with her, in a way.  She remembers Padre Baldy telling her that someone tried to kill him, but not Alonso, someone he sent, someone from La Malquerida.  Isadora interrupts to say that doesn't mean her and gets shushed by the judge.  Padre Baldy never got to tell her who it was because Julian Hernandez was insistently ringing the bell.  By the time she got back to Padre Baldy, he was dead.  The judge asks Soledad, the neighbor, about the tall, elegant woman with short blonde hair she saw the day Padre Baldy died.  She remembers getting a threatening call that she'd never see her children or grandchildren again if she testified against Isadora.

Daniel is still trying to hack into Alonso's email.  Ooh!  Stretch those arms again!  Camila was sleeping in the chair and wakes up to ask him qué the hell he's doing.  Camila feels especially bad about how she feels about Daniel, given how generous Miriam has been.  Daniel says Miriam doesn't like being lied to either, but he says she'll die without knowing they ever lied to her.  He's sorry he can't be with Camila when they love each other so much.  He can't ask her to wait, since he doesn't know how long Miriam will live.  Camila says no way will she be waiting around for Miriam to die.  Daniel's still holding out hope somehow they'll end up together.  Camila, on the other hand, would like to move on.

Soledad says the woman she saw wasn't Isadora.  Isadora gloats that Dio must have gotten to her and wonders how.  Isa's lawyer wants her released, but Daniel still needs to give his testimony and he has 24 hours more to do that.  He argues that it's not fair to leave Isadora locked up when they're not sure if Daniel can even testify.  The judge insists that they follow the letter of the law and give it another 24 hours.

Agustina asks Dionisio for their marriage license again.  He says he'll bring it to her if she'll shut up already.  Piedad brings breakfast in, but her fear of Dionisio makes her drop his plate as he pretends to show concern for Daniel and the dead cows.  Dio takes off, avoiding answering Agustina about what happens if her friend who bought the pension plan dies.

Piedad is still freaking out when she gets to the kitchen.  Hipolito tells her they've got to tell Daniel, as soon as she's done serving breakfast and he's done vaccinating the cows.

Isadora continues griping about being locked up.  Cayetano promises to make it up to her with "whatever she wants."  Well, that would be Buenaventura.  She thinks giving it to her for only six months showed he didn't trust her.  He spouts a lot of romantic nonsense, but Isadora needs him to show his love with a huge tract of land.  She thought bubbles that she wishes she was still giving him the drops.

Amanda is confused about why Soledad would take back her testimony.  Osvaldo says there's nothing to be done.

Mariano came by La Malquerida early because he's also moving today.  Camila feels bad for not finishing decorating the house.  The ranch hands report that only 1 bull died today.  Camila praises them for their hard work.  She goes to walk Mariano and Ana to the door.

Dante catches up with Miriam, who believes that Daniel's coldness is about having mentally buried her months ago.  If that's really what she thinks, then Dante wants to leave already.  Miriam begs him to wait so they can all go back together.

Gaston tells Abraham that Daniel is alive. Miriam is demanding to speak to him and Gaston thinks she found out what happened with him and Daniel.  Abraham wants Gaston to get him a phone pass.  He doesn't want Miriam coming back to Chile if he's in jail.

Miriam and Dante go to see Daniel, but before they open the door, Camila and Mariano come in.  Camila holds the anvil…I mean, the baby.  Miriam tells Mariano that she'll catch up with him in a little while to help him get moved into his house.  Camila hands the baby back to Miriam so she can walk Mariano to his car.

Mariano is surprised at how generous Camila is being--letting Daniel and his wife and his daughter be there.  Mariano wants her to start a new life, but Camila doesn't think it will be so easy.  Mariano says Daniel will be dead to her.

Tomorrow: Hipolito tells Daniel and Camila about Dionisio threatening Piedad; Daniel and Camila confront Dio.

Seriously? I stayed up late for that? Tomorrow looks more promising. It's about time we saw some comeuppance!

Thank you for the recap 5ft!!

I'm in town for once where Univision is being broadcast and was doing laundry and between commercial breaks. I was able to see parts of the show.

Here are some other parts that I saw, plus some questions.

Mayalen (NG) was walking with Pablo outside on their street with a red dress. I heard her say something like you should confide in me. It sounded like she was begging him to confide in her. I later saw Luzma looking out of the window from the house. Did she see them?

Maid Miriam seemed to be overjoyed about being able to help Mariano decorate his house. Camila seemed to have a look that said "QTH?" when Miriam and Mariano were laughing and talking about decorating. Dante was there too. Miriam introduced Mariano to Dante. Didn't Mariano already know Dante? I know that he didn't go to the wedding, but I thought that he knew Dante. If so, then Mariano "the honest" just engaged in the cover-up himself in a way that wasn't necessary. He could have said that they'd already met.

Yes, I realize that Dan is living in a fantasy world of not having to give Camila up just yet. I'm a Cam & Dan fan, but I found it interesting and almost strange that he was up and about so quickly working on the computer (like me at home!) ... in Camila's house, in the morning, with Camila there ... like it was a regular husband/wife morning at home. Yet the day before Miriam bought baby Agatha INTO the cabana (no more airborne toxins???), and Miriam has been at Daniel's door without scrubs. Why is Dan sleeping at Camila's? He's obviously not trying to go to Miriam's room anytime soon.

I'm thinking that Ana should have a "Teresa" moment and be the one to spill the beans to Miriam by sweetly asking her to take Daniel away so that Camila can fall in love with her Dad instead of still being married to Daniel.

-OR-

Miriam should walk in on *SOMEONE's* conversation about Dan & Cam! Piedad, Hipolito, Rodolfo, Agustina, Dio ... so many possibilities! Or how about coming to the cabana, Camila lets her in, but Dan doesn't know that she's there and yells something from the bedroom like "Camila, mi amor, where is the _______? I don't see it in the place that I kept it when I was living here." (Or something similar.)

I agree 5ft. It's time for more comeuppance! By the way, I loved your line about Dan being "stuck between stubborn woman and stubborn woman."

Thanks Kat. You covered it all. This was a set up episode for what looks like an exciting one tonight.

I'm glad Dio and his men didn't actually hurt Dona Chonita. I was worried for her safety. But now that she's sworn that Isa wasn't the woman she saw, there's no going back now. They can't prove that Isa was the killer. Dan's testimony about the motive (to keep Padre quiet about the false death certificate) is not enough to hold Isa. She can blame it all on Al as she has been doing. Leo's testimony is the most damning, but since he's a criminal, his testimony isn't convincing enough. Isa's going to walk free.

Dio was really scary with that neck massage (imagined strangulation?) he was giving Gussy. And Yago's hate-filled look at Natalia was a glimpse into their future. Run Nat, run!!!

Yay for Cami telling Dan she wouldn't wait for him (and for Mir to die), and is going on with her life. What the hell dude?! That's just tacky. Quit it with the love talk. He's made his decision already, but he keeps trying to hold on to Cam.

Now we know where Cami has been sleeping all these days Dan's been in her bed-- scrunched up in that chair. My back aches just thinking about it.

Things I really liked this episode: Pablo and Luzma's honest talk and cuddle. I'm glad she didn't start a jealousy scene about Mayalen, but instead was honest about her fears. And baby Agatha-- so cute at the window, and snuggled up in a blanket in Cam's arms. She looked very happy and content.

netgirl- Nope. Dante and Mariano have never met before, although they know people in common-- Teresa. Mariano did not lie. There are groups of people who don't interact with each other. For example, Miriam just met Vivi last episode.

The baby coming into the cabin happened later in the morning of the same day Dan was up and about for the first tim, not the day before. The day before he never left the bed, and that's when the baby came to the window. This is the first day he's been up, so we still have to see where he sleeps "tonight" (in tn time). I bet he still avoids sleeping with Mir though.

I would love it if Mir overheard Dan's love talk to Cam in the cabin. He's always doing it, so it wouldn't be hard to catch him.

Netgirl- Yes. Luzma saw Pablo walk Mayalen to her door (next door). Not sure how much of their conversation she heard though. Mayalen has seen Pablo look sad and upset a few times (because of Luzma trauma issues), and she's been trying to coax him into an emotional affair...uhm, to "confide" in her as a friend. Pablo has been very good about keeping up a wall and not spilling anything about the troubles in his marriage. I like how last night he said "you're OUR friend", as in mine and my WIFE'S, when Mayalen tried to pull the friend card for why he should confide in her.

Dear 5 Ft. Thank you for the recap with some nice, juicy touches, even if it wasn't the juiciest of episodes.

I did like some flickers of truth recognition going on with Natalia (okay, not enough yet) and Agustina (for whom I share the fears expressed here yesterday). I also like the writers' tease or not about Miriam and Mariano as a couple.

My favorite moment, however, was watching Cayetano begin to realize that his family has moved on in several different directions while he's entranced by/saddled with his new wife. Ana was very cute and sweet in that scene at the ever emptier table.

I think that we have a new Agatha, by the way, a little older looking, fuller faced.

By the way, was Daniel actually rolling his eyes while the two stubborn ones battled -- gently -- over the payment for the vaccine. Camila seems genuinely convinced of Miriam's kindness. It's very hard for her to resent this other woman, making it all the easier and better to move on, even while Daniel tries to hang on.

Set-up episodes make one feel cheated, but we all get them sooner or later; good work, Kat.

Totally agree with you about poor little Agatha having to live with that name; I know that pain. Miriam couldn't have made it her middle name?

We may be coming up on the reason that Bratgirl is still in this story.

Muchisimas gracias 5 ft & to Mena for yesterday.

Cayetano, open Iza's damn purse already, ya

She probably will get out of the slammer before he thinks of that.

He would have to be suspicious of her to do that. Since he's foolishly not suspicious of her, he won't open her purse to search for any evidence of her bad intent. But Iliana might be nosey enough to search the purse if she saw it lying around...

Thanks ViviDC.

Ok, I thought that Mariano and Dante had been in the same space and time with Teresa. Thanks for clearing up the other timelines. Yes, it will be interesting to see where Dan sleeps next.

Traveling Lady: Yes, I did see Dan's eyes go back into his head during Cam and MM's "stubborn woman" session! Funny facial expression in that scene. Especially since he was in the distance, half-clothed in the bed, and the women were in the doorway.

Variopinta and UA: Maybe Cayo will pick up the purse to move it, or prepare to bring it to Isa, and will drop it, leaving all of the contents in a nice mess on the floor so that he can pick up the pieces of his pride. By the way, he should be wary of a woman who he just married suddenly *demanding* his property. Love or no love, that's a red flag! This is beyond pre-nup ... she wants what he already has, and had built before he even knew she existed.

Yeah, the signature Dan eye roll was funny. I bet he was wondering how bigamists and polygamists handle their multiple wives. And his were being nice to each other. Just imagine if they were fighting! LOL!

Or Iagho will look into the purse. As much of a jerk as he is with Nat, he does have Hissadora's number.

Vivi, I read a few books about the Middle East and in Saudi Arabia polygamous men are required to spend rotating nights with their wives. Since non-rural ones are also expected to provide each wife with her own residence, that makes the men only part-time residents of each of these homes. That can't be psychologically healthy even for the men. However, they don't want to know that.

Excuse me, I should have said "non-desert" instead.

And there is still jealousy among the wives despite growing up with this practice.

I don't think Cayo will open the purse out of suspicion, his brain cells are too far gone for that. It will be sth like netgirl said. But he's so dense, he might look at the toloache & decide it's perfectly innocent.

Just cked my TV guide for Mon. It shows Amor Manda at 7, Amor Ver at 8 & Amor Bravio at 9, noticias at 10. That doesn't sound right. Is Lagrimas finished? I know when the programs chg, it takes awhile for the guides to get the message, Comcrap still shows Por Ella on Mon.

Just be prepared to ck, things could chg.

They haven't said "ultimas" anything on Lagrimas although I wish it were over. There isn't a single likable character in that whole series.

Thanks 5ft, setup episode for sure, but they are important too.

I picture Caye accidentally dropping Isa's purse and the drops come out. But I doubt he would have any idea what they are for. Then let's hope at the same time, her phone rings and he sees Dion's call on it.

Dan looks so hot, OMG! He seems to have gotten a hair cut while he was unconscious. So handsome!

Dan, please remember that Natalia gave you the password Alonso would use. That will probably get you in.

I'm really glad that Hipolito talked Piedad into telling Dan and Cam. Can't wait to see how that goes.

I'm increasing leaning towards the "Mayalen became obsessed with Pablo in pre-school and has never forgotten him" theory. Take that bitter look she gave him after he excused himself and said good night.

And I cringe when I see Isadora in that dress. She's spent at least two nights in jail, right? No way she'd have put up with that--she'd have demanded Cayetono bring her a change of clothes. (And as for changing, perhaps she could borrow Daniel's phone booth--he's got one, right? That's the only way he did that quick charro-suit switch when rushing off to the dying-bulls emergency the other day.)

Will tonto Cayetonto cede BV over to Isa for good? It depends on just how good that sex was, I suppose. What a fool if he does do it. How could he not wonder why she would ask for that. She's his wife now, and she would get to live there and be a part of it. But she wants to actually be the sole owner of it. That must raise alarm bells, no?

Someone suggested that the time mix up could be due to the time chg & once it happens everything will be ok.

Thank you for the perfect recap 5ft! I missed some things when I got a little bored but now that I realize it was a set up episode, I'm very excited for tonight!

I'm very upset about the possibility of Isa being free. I'm so sick of Dio getting away with threatening everyone that gets in his way! What I don't understand or maybe I missed it, but hasn't Leoncio accused Isa of cutting out his tongue? Shouldn't she be tried for that? Although I can't think of a way for Leoncerdo to prove it :(

I agree Traveling Lady! I love how the writers do seen to tease us with an M&M coupling! I'm still voting for that! I really hope that Miriam finds out the truth about Cam and Dan soon so we can see that drama unfold. It will make it even more interesting with Abram not allowing Miriam to go back to chile while he's in jail so Miriam will be stuck in Mexico with nowhere else to go but to Mariano :)

With anyone else it would.

I don't think Mariano has told Camila any of this. He should because Camila has a lot to say about Hissadora. However, considering that Cayetontissimo knew about Hissadora getting her hands for a minute on La Malquerida and trying to burn all the family stuff rather than giving it to Camila, I doubt anyone could talk sense into him.

You'd think he'd realize that the excavation equipment at the gate would have made him wonder how long the plan was in the making. However, Hissadora must know more tricks than Heidi Fleiss to have addled his brain.

Dan is so-o boring, selfish, and dense--a perfect fit for Miriam.

Unbelievable that he was on death's bed, yet looked like he showered and shaved twice a day, all this while he was unconscious.

My beanie has gotten lost forever.

Muchas gracias, Kat, for doing a great job with a so-so episode. I loved your remark about Dan being caught between two stubborn women, and your noting that both Gullible Gussie and Numbskull Natalia may be having wardrobe failure (slipping beanies). That definitely seems to be the case with Gussie. With Natalia, it's not so clear.

Kat, I'm not so sure that Agatha will be unhappy with her name when she gets older. Names go in and out of fashion. I remember being stunned when people began naming their baby girls Sadie, a name I associated with women born a hundred years ago. Zachary, too, sounded very strange to me when one of my friends gave her son that name 40+ years ago. It seemed so 19th-century, which it was, but it's now become a very popular boy's name. Again. Something similar may well happen with "Agatha."

Cathyx, I had forgotten that Natalia had given Dan Alonso's password. I'm surprised that Dan has apparently forgotten this as well. We can't blame this on the virus, since he'd been trying to get into Alonso's computer long before he contracted the virus. Perhaps Alonso sent the file to a different account, and what Dan is trying to crack is not the computer's password but the one for that specific email account?

Netgirl, I loved your suggested scenarios for how Miriam learns about Cam and Dan. My favorite was Ana's spilling the beans.

Vivi, I too was thinking strangulation when Dio was "massaging" Gussie's shoulders. And I agree with your advice to Nat: "run, Nat, run!!!" Alas, she somehow didn't see Yago's hate-filled look, though it was crystal clear and very scary to Viewerville. And for me, too, one of the best scenes in last night's episode was the honest discussion between Pablo and Luzma. I've been impressed throughout with the way the writers have made Pablo compassionate and understanding without making him seem overly saccharine.

Though I'm happy that Hipolito and Piedad apparently tell Dan what Piedad overheard, I was not at all happy to see (in the avances) that Cam and Dan rush off to confront Dio. That seems primarily likely to endanger Piedad and Luzma without accomplishing much that's positive.

Nat didn't give Dan a password. She gave him a second email account for him. She apologized at the time for not having a password.

Thank you, 5 footer! Short and sweet works for me. It still had lots of laughs.

The name Agatha was in my family for generations, although not the last few. I grew up with the understanding that it was the benchmark for the worst possible name for a woman. My aunt had it as her middle name and my dad always said, ‘it was a fightin’ word’. The mere mention of it would enrage her when they were kids. I had heard it had become a trendy name, or at least used more often than never, but I have to say I find that baffling.

Vivi: “But Iliana might be nosey enough to search the purse if she saw it lying around ...” *dingdingding* I think you may have come up with the reason Brat Girl has hung around annoying everybody for the last month or two.

“Such is the power of Miriam.” LOL!

“Daniel says Miriam doesn't like being lied to either, but he says she'll die without knowing they ever lied to her.” Very interesting. So that is his plan. What an idiot and what a coward.

Camila says no way will she be waiting around for Miriam to die. Yay for Camila! You go, girl! Dan is having trouble living with his decision because he feels he was forced into it. He thinks that he had no choice but to stay with Miriam or she would croak.

To pick up on something that Marta said late yesterday that I thought was very insightful, I think that Miriam actually knows the deal with Dan-n-Cam, although she may not realize it yet. Deep down, she knows it. And I think that when the time comes, and it is all spelled out to her why Dan has been so strange and cold to her, she isn’t going to want to be with him and have only a part of him. She will let him go in the end.

Great recap, 5ft., for a not-so-exciting episode, although it kept my attention throughout.

Well, I think now it's up to Leonicio to dole out some poetic justice to the ever conniving Isadora. I'm pretty sick of the constant theme of terrorizing women and their families (i.e., what happened with the witness)that is so popular in soaps and telenovelas. I guess it's just something I have to live with because it's never ending...

As for Cayetano, it's astonishing he could be so stupid, but then we also have Natalia who left her brain back on at her old job before Yago came along.

I definitely think Dio was threatening Agustina with his so-called neck massage, and I believe she got the message. I don't think it's going to stop her, though, from trying to find out the truth about her slime of a husband.

Can't wait till Dan and Camila hear what Dio did tonight:)

Yes, Carolina. ITA that Dan is totally a coward...but I've been saying that all along....but now an idiot with his ridiculous statement about Miriam dying and never knowing "el secreto." I think Miriam will outlive them all:)

Maybe Dan should have a little chat with Rocio to see how well keeping a secret from your spouse your whole life works out. *eye roll*

Did Cayetano agree to the request for BV? I would hope not, since at least two sons and a granddaughter and soon-to-be grandchild have "Albarron blood."

I predict Ileana and Yago will end up together. They have the same kind of slimy personalities.

And thanks for the witty synopsis, 5-ft.

Cindy

I think the name Agatha has potential. I know several Polish women named Agnieszka, plenty of them in their twenties. My stepson's girlfriend goes by Aga for short--it sounds cute and affectionate when he says it.

To be honest, I think any "traditional" name has potential. That's one area (in addition to grammar and spelling) where I'm conservative--I dislike made-up names.

Carolina I enjoyed very much what you shared about "Agatha."

ITA about why rush to comfront Dio? Strategy, folks!

Miriam's scrubs were very fashionable, hitting right at the knee, flared skirt, with pumps!

TN4ever

I don't think Miriam knows the whole deal; she would be monumentally uncomfortable around Camila if she did and that is not the case.

Is she considering the possibility that Dan's feelings changed? Of course. She can't ignore that he isn't the same person around her. The one thing that would bring it all down would be if she would overhear something between Dan and Camila... or anyone close to them.

UA, there is a difference between knowing the "whole deal" as you said, and "actually knowing the deal with Dan-n-Cam, although she may not realize it yet", which is what I said.

She isn't stupid. She has seen and heard a lot of clues that something is going on between them and something is wrong between Dan and herself. A lot of times we sense that something has taken place before we are willing to confront that truth, especially if it is something bad. That is what I think is going on with Miriam.

I can't believe there are only 26 episodes left. I hope not everything happens in the last 3.

I believe too that Miriam deep down does know something amorous is going on with Dan and Camila but she can't admit it to herself. She may not believe anything significant has taken place between them, but I think she knows they're into each other in a way that is far from platonic.

Muchisimas gracias for setting us up for tonight, Kat. All the elements were covered and we are muy bien preparados. All the couples have something going on.

I actually felt sorry for Issy last night. I can't stand the thought of her having to wear the same undies three days in a row--and no deodorant either. I'll bet she's quite fragrant and not in the good sense either. (Haha Vivi--her girls are probably not too happy either.)

Carolina and Marta in NY--I was thinking that Dan was not only a coward but downright cruel, starting with his convo a couple of nights ago when he's telling Cam she will always have him (virtually) and that his love for her will always be there and then trying to get her to tell him how she really feels. They had decided some time ago that once he made the decision to be with Miriam that they would have to split. Interesting, though, there's no talk about divorce proceedings between them. That was cruel.

Loved the eye roll, though and Kat's, "He's between a stubborn woman and a stubborn woman." He must wonder at the growing friendship between the two women, though.

But then he asks Camila the next day (or day after) that though he knows it's unreasonable of him would she wait for him, until, well, until, that maybe they would have a chance to be together. Good for Camila to say that she for one is going to have to move on.

MM is absolutely aware that something is amiss with her relationship with Dan, but can't quite put her finger on it. The virus thing was lucky for Dan and she's probably thinking he's still unwell, recovering, preoccupied.

Nothing Camila and Dan have done in her presence would lead her to suspect there was anything more than a great amistad formed while trying to save the ranch together--no longing glances, no touching familiarly, no slips with mi amor that she would know was not directed at her--they've been very careful.

So, MM is going to have to find out some other way, probably overhearing (TN law dictates that you won't overhear anything you need to know or when you say something critical, no one is on the other side to hear it) or finding something of theirs (whatever happened to their neck chains with their initials on it that they exchanged on their honeymoon--I know they put their wedding rings away).

MM probably sees going off to help Mariano as a good distraction and she's glad of it. She'll be aware soon enough of what a decent guy he is and easy to get along with. She's a bit hyper, although not quite in the same league as Camila, so they are much better matched.

Teresa has left me cold for some time now. Not a warm character, more calculating. Despite Mariano still being "in love" with Camila, if T & M ever gave it a try, it would not be a good match. As others have said--rancho life vs. city life. OTOH, Mariano did live in the city for many years while Pablo was growing up.

I don't see the Pablo-Luzma-NewGirl triangle ending happily for one of them. We've invested a lot in Luzma over the months, please don't let it be her.

5ft - Thanks. I too loved "stuck between stubborn woman and stubborn woman."

I can't believe Dan said something to Camila about Miriam dying without ever knowing they lied to her." I was hoping I'd gotten that wrong last night. The old wise ones in my family would say that Dan uttering that statement pretty much guarantees that Miriam will outlive both of them. So glad Cam told him waiting for him wasn't in her plan.

UtahD, I am also very much a traditionalist for names and most of the old ones I like. But not Agatha.

And I also have known at least one Polish woman with that name, but I thought it was their version of Agnes, a name I have always loved since I read David Copperfield.

Anita, MM did see and hear that huge, passionate argument between Dan-n-Cam that night in the courtyard. And she sure didn't look like she bought the sorry excuse Dan told her that they were disagreeing about his ceding the ranch to her.

Other than that, though, I agree. They have been discrete, but Camila has also avoided being around Dan and Miriam.

Not everyone agrees with all the Dan bashing or all the Miriam bashing.
I know everyone is entitled to their opinion, and I am too. I don't consider Dan a liar, he's always had good reason to keep the truth from whomever he has kept it from. Right now, he's keeping it secret about Miriam's health issue because he fears that the news could kill her. And that's what the doctor said could happen, and he's going along with that because of that, not because he's a coward. He has no idea what we viewers know about it being untrue. It's not up to Dan to assess that Miriam is strong enough and can handle knowing that she has an aneurism and withstand the stress of knowing what we know. The doctor told him it could kill her.

I think Miriam is a nice woman and I don't agree that she's a spoiled rich woman. Don't bother giving me examples, because I've heard them and I don't agree.

I remember the argument, Carolina, but they didn't make up with a kiss or anything, so all she saw from the window was a big row. Maybe MM didn't believe Dan's story, but she didn't have anything else to go on.

cathyx--I don't think I've bashed Miriam. I think it's unfortunate that she's caught in this story without the whole story. She's been written as someone who is basically nice, honest, expecting a baby, had a functioning marriage before the shooting and when she came out of the coma she finds herself a new mother, husband gone somewhere, and when reunited, learned that her brother threw her husband in jail and threw away the key--then Dan had disappeared. That's a lot to deal with, "sick" or not. Then she wonders why he didn't respond the way a normal man would to her overtures to making love, but she's willing to give it a pass up to a point.

She desperately wants to go home and for her life to return to normal, but events on the rancho obvio delayed that.

The fact that she came through for the rancho and her husband with the antidote and vaccine makes her a caring person (albeit a bit selfish, since it was primarily to save Dan). If it weren't for Dan being between them, she & Cam probably would have become friends. Not buds like Cam & Viv, but they would have found a common ground.

She doesn't yet know the extent to which Dio is involved, so I want to see how she deals with that, the shooting and poisoning the toros.

She has a long way to go before she's given all the facts and understands the situation, but she's a smart lady and all these little factoids are getting stored somewhere in her head.

She has a right to fight for Dan and her marriage, but someone already said and I go along with it that she's not the kind of woman who will want her man back at any cost, and not really have him at all.

Agnieszka is Agnes--incidentally, Agnes sounds very pretty in French. But Aga makes a nice nicknamge for either Agnieszka or Agatha.

Not only do I like traditional names, but I also like international ones that have versions in many different languages. A lot of them sound extra pretty in French. :) I can appreciate what you are saying, but I have too much baggage with Agatha to ever warm up to it, I'm afraid.
