Amor Bravío #160 (Uni 155) Wed 4/3/13 “The Plot Thickens and Picks up the Pace for Our People del Pueblo”

Mena,
Umm, did I tell you?!  Maja showed up?!   I told you she was waiting for the big lug (aka “The Perpetually Distraught and Distracted Dan) to vacate his side of the bed.  I know there are those who would prefer to see, shirtless jammie time with Dan, but I for one, appreciate a scene or two with our Furry Four-Legged Friend.
Dell

Dell,
You made your point.
Mena

Camila’s Cabana:  Camila wish bubbles her hope of putting Dio in jail and adds a prayer to the Virgencita for good measure.

Warehouse de LaBV:  LeoSordido skulks about looking for anything to swill or snort.  He finds some toxic solution and takes a swig no doubt hoping to catch a buzz – kerosene, paint thinner or whatever.  His brain can’t get any more toxic.  The BV Rancheros interrupt his buzz and he hides while they talk about his infamy.  They leave and he thought bubbles that he has no care if anyone likes him.  He has found a knife and some acid.  His greatest glory moment will be when he has IsaVibora in front of him and he can seek his long awaited revenge.    He gets his maniacal grin on as he steals away with his tools of torture.

Grounds of La BV:  Isa sneers, swears and soliloquies that Dio will never share the vast lands (or cash out value) of La BV with her.  That is the price he will pay for his obsessive desires for Camila.   IsaVibora is enraged that she is the one who had to sacrifice - immensely – and invest time and effort to mesmerize and murder Cayetano.   She toils while Dio obsesses over his no-longer-secret-fantasy girl Camila.    Indignant Isa wonders why Dio picked the cowgirl when he could have her, Isa, who is so much more of a woman!  [Estimates say about 3-4 sizes more, in fact].

Dio’s Den of Indecent Proposals:  Dio slobbers and soliloquies about Camila and his long anticipated conquest of her.  He breathes harder as he lecherously fondles his ice cold whiskey glass.  [Perhaps Dio has grown accustomed to fondling an ice cold woman?]  He is delusional certain that Camila will remain at his side forever.

Living Room at Mariano’s House:  Ana is playing by herself. Papa asks what is wrong, sensing sadness about her.  She admits that she is sad that her own dream of having both a mama and a papa will never come true.  Roman is about to have both, but she doesn’t see it in her future.  Papa promises her someday it may happen.  Ana wishes for a mama a papa and a little sister.  The newest theme song plays and invites viewerville to consider what pairing this signifies.

Kitchen de LaBV:  Yago interrogates the cook.  He asks if she cooks and adds anything to the food according to Isa’s instruction.  No, the cook says, she does it all herself and Isa has nothing to do with the cooking.  However, she adds, the Patron’s whiskey, tea and coffee are prepared by Isa, no one else.  Hmmm, Yago wonders.  Alas, it would seem that Yago has hit a record number of synapse lighting moments in our story.  His grand total is now two.

Dan and Miriam’s Casita of Half Truths:  Miriam, Viv, Rafa and Roman enter the house after giving Miriam a lift home from a day of cookies and tag at Mariano’s.  Caridad is on break, perhaps reading “A Certain Number of Shades of a Certain Color” and is required to stop to resume poopy doody.   Viv and Rafa bid goodbye, but Roman insists on sampling one more of Miriam Stewart’s super tasty cookies.  They relent and as they seat themselves, a bruised and battered Dan drags in.  Que paso?! An alarmed Miriam wonders what happened and Dan gives yet another lame story about saving a defenseless female from an abusive male tipo.  Viv and Rafa know which defenseless female Dan was really defending but keep up the charade.  They scold him about this being a foolish thing to do.  Dan agrees and says he fears that his actions may have made it worse for the defenseless female.  Miriam is understanding because the Dan she knows cannot leave justice unserved in a situation such as this.   Whew!  So far Dan is out of the woods on explaining this story any further.

Miriam’s Doctor Numero Dos del Pueblo:  Partyline between Dr No 2 (good doctor) and Dr No 1 (bad doctor).  Our good doctor is asking what’s up with this lady with the serious diagnosis and no brain pictures to be found?  Our bad doctor says there is nothing to worry about, the patient can travel back to Chile and will be in no danger.  Our good doctor seems puzzled that someone with such a serious diagnosis should be so active and planning to travel.  Our bad doctor gets huffy and tries to pull rank and tell our good doctor that it was his evaluation and he knows best and the patient can travel.  Our good doctor remembers his Hippocratic oath and says no-can-do; it would be unethical for him to allow her to do so in her condition.   Bad doctor is none-too-pleased as he wants the evidence of his fake diagnosis to go back to Chile far far away.

Dan and Miriam’s Casita de Half Truths:  Miriam plays nurse while Dan groans in pain.  Roman enters the room and talk/shouts “Que Paso?”.  The grownups explain a little bit and Miriam Stewart-Nightingale invites Roman to go collect cookies and medical stuff.  Viv and Rafa take the alone-with-Dan time to scold him some more about his latest escapade with Dio.  Yes, Dan admits it was stupid but he just couldn’t help himself.  They go back and forth about all Dan’s promises to Camila to stay out of her affairs and all his failures to do that.  This time, says Dan, he will.  Really.

Dio’s Den of Dishonor:  Good lawyer comes to visit Dio with divorce papers.  He explains that Agustina wants nothing from him but a divorce.  Dio snarkily replies how coinkidinkily, that is what he wants too. Lawyer logically hands Dio the pen.  Dio, acting all alpha male refuses because “no one tells me when to sign”.  Fine, says our good lawyer, when shall he come by tomorrow to pick up the papers?  Forget it, Dio tells him.  He will sign them when he da#$ well feels like it and deliver them himself to Agustina in prison.  Great!  Just what Agustina needs – Dio’s snarky self to add insult to the injury he has already caused her.

Random Restaurant del Pueblo:  Pueblo has invited Mariano out to eat much to Mariano’s pleasure. Pablo is going stir crazy living without his Luzma.  Mariano gently reminds Pablo that the situation between him and Luzma may last for some time.  Pablo seems unmoved by this comment.  Pablo loves Luzma y punto!  Pablo asks about Camila and Mariano says he fears her love for Dan endures.  Pablo says he understands this undying love where no one else matters [Are you listening New Girl?].  But, he hopes for Big Bro’s sake, this will not be the case with Camila as it is for Pablo.  Mariano agrees and adds that Darling Ana has broken his heart by telling him how much she longs for a mother.

Luzma’s Bedroom:  Luzma imagines Pablo lying in bed next to her.  She apologizes for not being able to supersede her anguish and emotional problem.  She stares out the bedroom window to the grounds beyond.
Hostel:   Nat packs a suitcase and Amanda brings her a bag with toiletries for her honeymoon.  Nat takes the opportunity to tell Amanda how much she cares for her mamita. Amanda returns the lovies and tells Nat how much she has grown up.  Nat wants her bebe to grow up and love her as much as Nat loves Amanda.  Lovies, hugs, and warm fuzzy words are exchanged between the two.

Luzma’s Bedroom:  Luzma continues to take a trip in her head and remembers the past romantic moments with her dearly beloved Pablo.  The loveliness is shattered by memories of the after moments of her trauma and her moments of acting out her pain by smashing the glass in Pablo’s face.  She continues to stare wistfully out the window into the night.   From her window a figure becomes clearer to her….. it is LeoSordido.  Luzma shrieks over and over.  Piedad and Hipo run to her room and attempt to calm Luzma down.

Partyline:  Dan calls Camila and apologizes for meddling, again.  He hopes he has not made the situation worse for Camila.  Camila agrees and warns him to be careful, himself, since Dio likely wants to do Dan harm (she is careful to keep Dio’s actual threats secret).  As they talk, Miriam enters the room and listens to Dan talking to Camila.  Camila tells Dan she will never forget their love etc. and says, again, bye forever. [Viewerville is trying not to keep score on just how many final goodbyes these two have already exchanged.]    Dan and Camila hang up and Dan says “mi Camila” aloud.  The sh#$ hits the fan as Dan realizes that Miriam has been listening to their conversation.  Miriam accuses him of lying to her again and playing her for the fool.  She realizes that the poor defenseless woman was none other than Camila.  Dan says he didn’t lie, he just didn’t tell her everything.  Miriam [with Viewerville’s approval] says his half lies are basically the same thing.  Dan says he did it to avoid the very discussion they are having right now and that he is sorry.  He tells Miriam the truth about why he went after Dio; that Dio wants the ranch in exchange for Agustina’s freedom.   He adds that Dio also wants a night of nooky with Camila as well.  Miriam is aghast and immediately understands Dan’s actions.  Of course he should defend a woman against being treated as an object!  [Mr. Mena pipes in at this point that as long as Miriam is for team Dan, this might be a good time to drop the news that while she was, er, sleeping and he escaped from jail, he happened to have gotten married to defenseless Camila.]   The goodwill fades after Miriam points out that this is yet another example of Dan not sharing what he is thinking with her.  She adds that she will be happy when the pair of them return to Chile and are away from all this.

Luzma’s Bedroom:  Piedad and Hipo continue to try to console Luzma.  Hipo says no one saw LeoSordido and maybe Luzma’s imagination got the best of her.  Luzma insists this was not her imagination.  Either way, Hipo assures her, the grounds are being watched and LeoSordido won’t  stand a chance against all the vigilance.  Piedad echoes the reassurance and says LeoSordido is not stupid enough to lurk with all the vigilance.  Viewerville is not so sure of his brain health after seeing LeoSordido swill whatever chemical mix was in the warehouse, but hopes Piedad and Hipo are right.

Grounds of La MQ:  LeoSordido skulks into the night with his maniacal grin.  He is please to have learned where Luzma is.  He vows to return for her after he takes care of his business with IsaVibora.

Maid’s Quarters:  Piedad and Dorotea talk about Luzma’s sighting of LeoSordido.  Piedad is gathering her things to spend the night with Luzma.   She mentions, on an aside, to Dorotea that she has a little lump on her chest that comes and goes.  Dorotea tells Piedad she should have the lump checked by a doctor.  Piedad tells Dorotea to stop, she is scaring her.   Piedad goes on her way, appearing to disregard her obvious symptom.

Morning Break at La MQ:  The bulls run through the pastures as our helicopter passes over them.
Luzma’s Bedroom:  Irena and Luzma talk about Luzma’s scare of the previous night.  Irena wonders if the sighting is real or a result of Luzma’s  tortured imagination.  On a happier note, Irena has come to deliver Luzma’s report card and graduation certification to her.  It seems Luzma has received good grades and Irena hopes she will study psychology as she had planned.  Luzma does not seem hopeful as it was her dream to be married to Pablo and study at the same time.  Irena talks about her own plan to study and work with her father.  The pair agrees that their lives are going on in different directions.  They agree that they will still remain friends.

Jail:  Agustina mops with great difficulty.  Her prison mate relieves her of this burden telling Agustina she is
not meant to do this type of work.  The two talk about Agustina’s cellmate, Carmela.  Agustina speaks of how she admires her for her bravery in protecting her daughter.  Her friend agrees that, yes, mothers will do anything for their children.  She shares her own story with Agustina.  Her son accidentally shot  his companion. In order to save her son from prison, she took the gun from him and claimed she shot the companion.  She has no regrets because her son has made something of his life.  He is studying to be a lawyer and had hoped to gain his mother’s freedom.   Unfortunately the companion died and she received the maximum sentence for the crime.

Partyline:  Teresa and Camila talk about Camila’s hope to find evidence against Dio very shortly.  Teresa hopes this will help, but suggests that their efforts may not be enough to get the proof.  Camila asks  about Chonita, the long lost witness.  Teresa says that unfortunately, no one has been able to find her yet.  Camila hopes aloud that they will succeed in gaining her mother’s freedom and er, Daniel.  Que?  Teresa wonders what Dan has to do with this.  Camila catches her slip …. “Dan? Did I say that? Er, no.   Camila is careful not to reveal Dio’s added threat against Dan.

Jail:  Agustina continues to talk with her prison mate.  She agonizes over being a selfish mother and all that it has cost her.  She says it cost the life of one of her children.  She laments now being a burden to Camila.  Her new friend consoles her and says time will tell when she can be more the mother she wants to be. Agustina thanks her and admits she never expected to find such friends in , of all places, jail.  She adds these are women who really know how to be mothers. [Let’s hope Martians are not watching our TN thinking we generally jail our most selfless mothers, sheesh!]

Hostel:  Aaron and Amanda talk about Amanda having cultivated such a good kid after all. [Recall that this was in question a mere week before.]  Amanda and Aaron talk about gratitude and about real friends being the ones that are there through good times, but more importantly the difficult times.  They talk about being friends for the rest of life.  Aaron-Goodwill-Love-Peace-Humanitarian seems to be rubbing off on Amanda.

Dinner Table at La BV:  Isa, CayeTanDrogado and Yago eat breakfast together.  Isa gushes about the soon-to-be-married Yago.  [Way to get to Yago’s heart, yessirree.]  Isa gushes about Yago  his love for Nat [ackkk] and Isa’s love for CayeTanDrogado [All together Viewerville – gag.].   CayeTanDrogado asks if Rocio will be attending Yago’s wedding.  Yago replies that she will not.  Caye is pleased because it is a special day.  Yago looks puzzled at Pops’ comment.

Dinner Table at Mariano’s Place:  Ana reaches for a Miriam cookie and offers one to Rocio.  She declines as she fears she will not fit into her mother-of-the-groom dress if she indulges in too many of these super tasty Miriam cookies.  Que?  Ana asks if all is now well between Rocio and Yago.  Well, no, replies Rocio, but she will go as she did to Pablo’s wedding, incognito.  Mariano looks at Rocio in surprise and Refugio confirms that indeed Rocio was there.  Rocio assures all that she will attend with gladness this time, not madness like last time.

Camila’s Cabana:  Dorotea comes to see Camila and tell her of her worries about Piedad.  She is reluctant to tell Camila, but feels she must tell Camila about the lump that Piedad told her she discovered on her chest.  Camila assures Dorotea that she will take care of it and asks her to have Piedad come talk to her.  Dorotea takes leave and Camila calls the hospital to find a good oncologist.

Viv and Rafa’s Place:  Aaron arrives, followed by Dan.  All are wondering why Aaron has asked them to gather.  Aaron announces he is returning to Chiapas on Saturday morning.  They remind Aaron he will miss the not-made-in-heaven-wedding, but Aaron insists, this is something he must do.

Dining Room de LaBV: Isa brings CayeCasiMuerto his café for the day and Yago springs another synapse.  Total 3.  He jumps up to show some pictures on his phone and coinkidinkily knocks the coffee cup off the table. Isa blows up.  Yago insists on making the replacement coffee himself.  On a roll, he wonders about what happened to the visit to the doctor and how it became a visit to the lawyer. Isa scrambles for a cover story and says Pops is confused and that indeed they went to the doctor and he gave him some pills for the memory and all.  Yago wonders if he can have the info on the doctor so he can talk to him too.  Isa scrambles some more and says that by the time the results of Pops’ tests are back, Yago will be long gone on his honeymoon.  No worries, Yago replies, Mariano can take up where Yago leaves off.   Isa agrees and is left to steam and stew about Yago’s interference and the camera closes out for the night.

Avances:  Teresa is pregnant and Los Rancheros etc. search for Dio’s magic suitcase.

Friends and Lurkers,

Happy reading and thanks for the best recaps from all the recappers, UA, PdelB,5Ft and Jardinera. Such big shoes to follow for this first time recapper. I am in awe.

Dear Martian TN Viewers,

Please consult with me before jotting down generalizations of life on Earth based on TN viewing.

Mena

Great work, Mena.

It looks like Iagho's brain is finally in gear and he has at least enough decency -- or is it still only greed? -- to attempt to protect his father.

Can we dispense with comments about actresses' clothing sizes? The idea that attractive or desirable should be determined this way is not something we want to promote.

Augustina scared me last night with her realization about motherhood. She is getting close to her Cavaradossi moment (that role is shared by her and Daniel).

Maja is back! Love that dog. She is so adorable in her size and fluffiness.

Mena,

What an inspired recap! Thank you for making me start my day with a good laugh. Your lines about Isa's size relative to Camila (at least 3-4 sizes) and the selfless mothers going to jail (Martian observation alert!) were very funny.

It seems to me that most novelas throw in another crisis near the end, like Piedad's possible breast cancer. But this novela doesn't need anything else to keep the tension going! There are so many things to resolve in the next six episodes. Nevertheless, we now have another piece to the puzzle, along with Teresa's pregnancy. Wow!

Miriam so knows in her heart what's going on. She just needs to have one honest person -- and perhaps we have found him in the new doc -- to get her to the full truth.

And, yes, Iago came to life for a moment and was actually effective. Some rehab in play. It will be interesting to see what happens with the blood tests and Nati and Aaron lay the trap/escape for the wedding day.

Great job Mena! Too many funny lines to mention. Loved Dell's support of Maja's appearance. I agree with Dell, although I also greatly appreciate a shirtless Daniel.

These last episodes aired in October, Breast Cancer Awareness month. I bet Cami's pink shirt and this storyline with Piedad were tied into some larger Televisa breast cancer awareness campaign. I hope sine Cam is getting her to a doctor right away, they'll be able to rule out cancer quickly (I want a healthy Piedad for Luzma's sake), but give a valuable lesson to the audience.

The avances were exciting. A surprise pregnancy, and the Great Briefcase Heist has begun!

Thanks for the recap. Boy did I miss some major information here - the possible breast cancer and Teresa's pregnancy. I would hate to think I was trying to watch this without the recappers.

I predict, as someone predicted earlier, that with the parade of sacrificing mothers who are in jail that Augustina keeps meeting, that she will soon be meeting Alonsa's mother in jail.

Cindy.

Cindy - That certainly seems right as Rosario was another truly selfless mother. Perhaps Augustina will spend the rest of her life doing something with the female prison population, assuming that she is freed herself. I think that the latter is a safe assumption, but it crossed my mind last night that she might end up spending some time in prison (a relatively brief sentence) as the novela comes to an end.

Interesting point about the timing of Piedad's illness, Vivi. Yes, let's hope that it is not a serious problem. Certainly a good public health message to get anyone with a suspicious lump immediately to the doctor.

I really felt Luzma’s frustration last night. I know everyone means well, and are just trying to calm her down by suggesting it might have been her imagination, but it just made her feel like they think she’s crazy. And of course she has plenty of reasons to doubt herself—she was just imagining Pablo right there beside her in bed. Her screams for her mama were heartbreaking.

I am now totally convinced that Nat is leaving with Aaron—the goodbye convo between Nat and Amanda; the thank you convo between Aaron and Amanda; and Aaron informing the Scoobies that he’s leaving for Chiapas tomorrow and missing the wedding and book launch. Hmmm… And now Luzma is talking to Irene like she’s never going to see her again. Hmmmm…

Yago definitely earned some points last night. He may be a womanizing, selfish, jealous, grudge-holding, insecure jerk, but I believe he does love his family—yes, even Pablo.

Is Mariano finally seeing the light about Camila? He needs to stop promising Ana that he’ll provide a mom and sibling for her. I did chuckle a bit when he came upon sad Ana, and was perplexed because she was so happy just a few minutes before. I thought to myself, welcome to the world of the pre-teen and teenage girl, Mariano! These mood swings will be the norm for the next six years, and soon a comforting cuddle and kiss from dad will be rebuffed.

Tks Mena, good one

Wonder what Aaron & Nat are planning?

Piedad's health scare, I'm sure is to keep Luzma from leaving town.

Just love that big armful of fluff, Maja.

We have so much suspense, can't wait for tonight & the briefcase caper.

Another delightful recap, Mena. Muchas gracias! Apparently you also have big feet, since you've had no trouble following in the footsteps of the other very talented recappers.

I enjoyed so many of your remarks, perhaps especially the ones about what Martian TN viewers are likely to think about life on Earth.

I also loved "Miriam Stewart-Nightingale" and your riffs on "Cayetano," as well as Mr. Mena's suggestion to Dan.

One small correction: in the paragraph beginning "Random Restaurant del Pueblo," you go on to say that "Pueblo" has invited Mariano out to eat--I think you mean "Pablo."

One thing I didn't understand is that Rocio talks about wanting to fit into her mother-of-the-groom dress, and two seconds later she says she'll be going to the wedding incognito, as she did for Pablo's wedding. For Pablo's wedding, she definitely was disguised, but I fail to see how her plan to wear a mother-of-the-groom dress is compatible with her attending Yago's wedding incognito. ??

Cindy, I thought you made a good point about all the self-sacrificing mothers that Agustina encounters, and the likelihood that she'll therefore also encounter Rosario. It's almost as if the grounds of the prison have been rented out to the Self-Sacrificing Mothers convention.

To be honest, I liked Mena's recap a lot more than I liked the episodio. It was too preachy for me, especially in the scene between Natalia and Amanda, Agustina's endless mea culpas, and the breast cancer PSA.

Like other commenters, I too found the avances very promising. I can't wait til tonight's episodio.

Variopinta, good point about a possible reason (aside from the PSA) for Piedad's breast cancer scare. I hadn't thought about it as a way for the writers to keep Luzma from leaving, but that makes good sense.

Juanita- Rocio actually didn't say she was going incognito to Yago's wedding. I think she's planning on being front and center this time, no matter what Yago says. She said she intends to give him her blessing.

Thanks Mena, wow, only one more week. What will I do with all the time on my hands when this story ends?

Vivi, don't forget the goodbye Nat gave Rodolfo too. Maybe she's planning on having the baby there, where it's quiet and no one will know where she is. Same for Luzma hiding out.

UA gave me a thought that I hadn't had before. Maybe Aggie will plan to kill herself as the way to save Camila. That would actually do it. Not that I want her to, but after all the women she's met who sacrificed themselves for their children, she might get that idea.

I don't see Aggie killing herself, a big no no for a Catholic especially. The briefcase should get her out of this mess. I have faith in Hipo, Rodolfo y Eleu.

Thanks, Vivi, for pointing out that Rocio did not say she was going to attend Yago's boda incognito.

Rocio is hoping for Iagho to forgive her but -- as he says himself -- he isn't Pablo. Won't happen because he's a fool.

woohoo Mena! Great job! I found last nights episode a bit tedious and did a lot of ff>> Your recap was much more fun and filled in a few spots.

My faves: Miriam Stewart-Nightingale (HAHAHA) and the comment about Dionicio fingering something icy cold.

I was appalled that after everything she's been through, Hipo and Piedad had no piedad for Luzma! Imagining things? really? aaaaagh!

With only a week to go, they spring new storylines in? (Piedad's lump and Teresa's bump) come on! Last night felt like it was a lot of filler, but again I did so much ff>> I think I missed a few things. Thanks again Mena for filling in the gaps.

Mena thanks for another fun recap. I also was excited about seeing Maja; as UA mentioned, she seems like a fun dog.

Vivi - thanks for the info on Piedad's potential illness. Like Traveling Lady, I feel we have enough going on without that story to be added at the last minute.

Cindy - ITA that Rosario should be showing up next.

Variopinta - I too wonder what Aaron and Nat have planned. Maybe he'll send word to Rodolfo that Nat has escaped to be safe there.

Juanita - good speculation on Piedad's illness keeping Luzma here.

Cathyx - if it were not for the suicide is taboo, I would think the writers are building up to Gussy making a big sacrifice. I guess it will be something else.

Personally I hope Dio won't sign the papers before he's jailed so Gussy can get everything "legal" that he owns. Then she's donate it to the prison. Do we think he'd be horrible enough to tell Gussy what he's planning for Cam? Shudder, barf.

Paquita - ITA with you about Hipo and Piedad on Luzma. Really, she's not a child and why would you don't her on something this imp? Oh yeah, plot device to ensure she has to possibly see her tio. Nooooo!

Mena: Haven't read your recap yet, but know it will be awesome as usual.

Paquita: I like that Teresa is pregnant. It's what she wanted and it will push Dante and her together, at least as parents. So Dante and her character are taken care of.

If it wasn't for Agustina being a devout Catholic, I would think they are setting her up to be a suicide. But maybe, what they are doing is setting her up to help out at the prison while she's there and when she gets out.

Love the idea of Nat not showing up at the wedding. Don't want her showing up and then doing the no accepto thing. I think her not showing up will be the perfect revenge against both Iago and Dio. They will be livid and, Dio especially, socially embarrassed.

This not telling Miriam the truth is getting stupid. She's been angry and stressed several times since the death sentence diagnosis. I doubt that finding out your inattentive husband has fallen in love with someone else and married them would put excessively extra stress on her at this point. End this already.

Nanette

Hate to really spoil things but if you read the character info on wiki http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amor_Brav%C3%ADo
it gives away what happens to the characters we love or hate

Thanks for such a great & thorough recap. Seems that everytime I think my listening/ understanding skills are improving, they'll throw in one of these episodes where I'm lucky to understand a word or two:-)

I'm confused about Nat's plan. Who besides Luzma and Aaron know what she is planning? Does Amanda know? I think not since she packed toilitries for Nat's honeymoon? Also, If she doesn't know wouldn't she wonder why Nat is going to proceed with wedding?

So many secrets, so little time!

Foxy, no one else knows Nat's plan.

I'm surprised that Miriam didn't jump on Dan saying 'Mi Camila' after he got off the phone. That should have been the last bit of the puzzle for her to confirm his ties to her, and how he actually feels for her.

Anonymous, why would you post the link if you don't want to spoil things for us? Some things are better left untyped.

First of all, Mena, don't sell yourself short. I agree with Juanita--Your shoes are every bit as big as your companeras' shoes. There's always something new from you. I've enjoyed your beginnings with communications with Dell. I looked over and checked my own Dell, but he's silent on the issue of talking Dells.

Who but you would think of Martians learning about earthlings by watching telenovelas. I bet their reception is better than ours. My screen breaks up into little squares and sometimes the frame freezes, but they keep talking (last night was particularly egregious behavior).

Foxy--Amanda and Natalia have talked over everything. Amanda wouldn't have been in such a loving place if she really thought Natalia was going through with the wedding. She knows that Natalia has seen the light on Yago AND Dio and fully on the Scooby team.

It's hard to put little "" marks around a jest in a dialog, but I'm pretty sure Amanda meant things for her "honeymoon" and not for a real honeymoon.

Dan seemed pretty hurt, in almost the same place he was shot. If I'm not mistaken, from the angle of the camera while he was taking a beating, the henchies were aiming *much* lower. That would also delay any congress Miriam might initiate--but those days are probably over and Miriam is finally getting more pieces of this puzzle into place. She just needs a few more and the picture will be finished (and so will the telenovela, booohooo).

So we are all supposed to be pleased with Yago's enlightenment. I still think there is a material motive in there. He knows from Mar that Isa is up to no good and it probably involves *his* inheritance. But whatever works, as long as Cayedrogobutnotdead-o is saved.

I was upset by the new 'I have a lump in my chest' drama introduced this late, but I'll accept Vivi's explanation and figure it will go away tonight or Friday. I don't think it will keep Luz from leaving the rancho. She is too freaked over LeoCerdo and not wanting to be near Pablo.

Anon at 2:20--Thank you for warning us about Wiki, but this community is quite aware of the spoilers on Wiki. I even wait until the tn is over to pick up the names of the actors of some of the minor characters because I don't want to look. YouTube is also full of spoilers.

Remind me of a couple of things if you would anyone.

Did Alonza tell Rosario that Isadora was driving the car that pushed him over the cliff?

Does Augustina know that aside from seeing Dio and Isa together, that they are plotting together?

I just wondered if, assuming she meets up with Rosario, that would affect Augustina.

Cindy

Cindy, I believe the answer to both questions is yes. Rosario knew that Isa tried to kill him and Aggie is now well aware of the plans of Dion and Isadora.

Mena: Knew it would be an awesome recap. Also, loved Mr. Mena’s contribution.

I think Dio would take great pleasure in telling Agustina he’s going to bed her daughter. Can’t A. refuse to see him?

I was kind of surprised that Luz did not call out for Pablo. I know he wasn’t there, but would have thought that would have been instinctual. She might have called out for him at first and I missed it.

I really like the music they played at the end of Aaron’s and Amanda’s scene. They’ve played it a few times before.

Did Isa suspect Iago of spilling the coffee on purpose? It was awkwardly done. However, his insistence on his or Mariano’s getting the doctor’s results was very well done.

Nanette, it didn't seem to me that Isa suspected anything.

I'm certain that Dion has quite a few things to tell Aggie when he gives her the papers. More torture for her when that happens.

I don't think Isa suspected anything either. Like Dio, she underestimates people. She just thinks Mariano and Yago are being annoying buttinskies, but totally thinks she's too clever for them to suspect what's really going on.

Mena:
Wow ... I thought that our little tete-a-tetes were just between the two of us, but I see I was wrong. Not only do you offer the data to others, but you also invite their comments. Why? Why must you know what The Lady Who Travels; or the one that says she lived in DC; or the one that is only five feet tall; or the one from the barrio or any of the others, including the anthropologist from the urban areas, think of what we say? And now, you are even inviting the Martians to our convos! Why? Why?

Dell

I think Hissadora did realize that Iagho spilled the coffee deliberately. However, if something were to happen to him now it might look suspicious and that would not do. Mariano would be all over that.

I like how Iagho pressed about the doctor's visit that didn't happen. I hope he has a chance to tell Mariano about what Cayetano said about being in a lawyer's office.

Becerra can find out about any estate filings by questioning the right people. However, I don't know if there is enough time.

Goodness Gracious Dell,

And all this time I thought you were asleep and blowing bubbles. Who knew you were following awake and following the comments?!

Look at it this way, not being anonymous gives you the opportunity to own your point of view and allows all of us to appreciate you for it (well at least publicly).

Now thank you for sharing and go back to sleep.

About all the wrap-up sentimental conversations-- I think the writers are smart to spread them out over the final weeks, rather than leave them all for the final episode. It feels more real to me that these different people would be having their aha! moments at different times as the story winds down. It's also obvious that the writers are stretching out the major action and the fall of the villains until the end.

Wrapped-up, or nearly, relationships:
- Vivi-Rafa-Roman
- Amanda and Nat
- Aaron and everyone (he came and did what he needed to do, and now he can return home)
- Abe-Mir-Dan (he came clean and made ammends)
- Piedad-Hip
- Rocio-Mariano-Pablo
- Cayetano-Mariano-Pablo
- Teresa and Dante (looks like tonight Teresa will get the final push into his arms)
- Cami-Gussy
- Amanda-Osvaldo
- Irene-Tolentino

Still unresolved:
- The final downfall of Dio-Isa-Leo
- The Mir-Dan-Cam-Mar Quadrangle
- Pablo-Luzma
- Yago-Natalia (although I think we're nearly there with Nat's Plan)
- Yago and his family

Vivi, you may have left out the Rocio and Cayetano reconciliation.

Karen, I'd love to take credit for the point about Piedad's illness possibly keeping Luzma from leaving, but it was Variopinta who made that point, not me. I was just telling her that I thought she'd made a good point. So I guess the three of us agree. :-)

Anita, I loved "Cayedrogobutnotdead-o"!

As for Wikipedia being a spoiler, I wonder whether the CarayCaray site should put up a sign in big letters warning people about this. It's quite natural for people to turn to Wikipedia for more info about the TNs without realizing that Wikipedia often includes Spoilers.

Anita, thanks for all your clarifications.

Although I want Isa stopped before she kills Cayetano, I'm not feeling very sorry for him since he’s so sure of his trophy/Isa until he hasn't changed his attitude towards Roccio and isn’t encouraging Yago to change his.
That said, I can't imagine this tn ending without those 2 getting back together even though I have no idea how that could happen this late in the game.

Vivi, great list. One possible addition to the unresolveds: Nat and Rodolfo?

I don't always read all the comments, but has anyone speculated on a Nat-Aaron combo?

Aaron would take on someone else's baby better than Rodolpho, I think.

Cindy

Juanita, that is an excellent suggestion and I would add IMDb to that. They list the episodes by title (which we don't see on screen) and those often have major spoilers in them.

As to the resolutions, something has to be saved for the final hour. FELS had a two-hour finale here but only a one-hour one in Mexico. The villains bit the dust in the next-to-last hour so despite the royal wedding of the three protagonist couples, the last hour would have felt more anti-climactic had we seen it as a stand-alone.

I did think of adding both Nat-Rod and Caye-Rocio.

Not sure about Nat-Rod. I want him to make peace with Nat not loving him. If she can actually develop some feelings for him, then I would like to see them end up together, but I don't need it to happen.

It's a bit of the same for Cayetano and Rocio. I want them to make peace with each other for the sake of the family, but I don't need to see them get back together as a couple. It would be nice if it happened though.

ITA that we should consider putting an "avoid Wikipedia and IMDB" note on the sidebar. Perhaps near the "no spoliers" note. Most of us Caray vets know to avoid the tn Wikipedia pages, but we all pretty much learn by making the error the first time. Then it makes total sense, since we know most of these tns were started in Mexico months before they begin to air here. Plenty of time to add details that will be spoilers for us.

Vivi, I agree that I'd like to Rodolfo at peace with Nat's not loving him, but that, too, is a kind of resolution. I must say, the looks on both Rodolfo's and Nat's face during their last exchange suggested to me that both of them were feeling a lot for each other. Whether that leads to marriage--who knows? But either way, it's a reolution.

As for Rocio and Cayetonto, I suspect that they'll be back together by the end of the TN. Rocio has already seen the error of her ways, and she has said that Cayetonto is the love of her life. Both of those things point toward reconciliation at the end. Of course, not unless Cayetonto admits what a fool he has been vis a vis Isa, but I'm guessing that he will.

Lol at the Dell convos!!! My Dell probably wants to get in on the convos but my Android gets first dibs at comments because I'm reading the recaps on the phone.

Thanks, as always for kind comments and I am pleased to have provided a smile or two. A few comments...

Juanita / Viv : Thanks for the clarification... Yes, the storyline for Rocio was that she was saying she was going to the wedding, just like she had Pablo's. When Ana and Mariano looked surprised she explained she was there "hidden" or incognito - something like that. Refugio confirmed she saw her. Then, she says she was going anyway and hedged a little on how she put it... just like Pablo's. But she didn't mean incognito, really, because she said she needed to give him a blessing (suggesting she would do it "live" and "in person"). Ana asks her what she will do if Yago gets mad she is there and Rocio says something like that will be too sad.

Hiding at weddings is sure a TN theme.... Teresa in AB was hiding when Mariano married Ana's mom. And Teresa, from "Teresa" hid behind some pillars when Mariano and Aurora got married. OK, now I confused everyone, yes there are two lawyers named Teresa and they both have a thing for Mariano at one time and then move on to the next guy. I think Viv or somebody noticed that before too.

UA: Totally agree with dress size in no way being any way correlated with desirability etc. That is a separate discussion and I am glad you mentioned it .. Isa's indignation and statement about being "mucho mas mujer", I am fairly certain has as much to do with her self objectification as it does her self important view of her own intelligence. She loves to dress the vamp and accentuate those curvies (which is, frankly attractive, in my opinion). But more to the point, hear! hear! to not equating size to desirability.

A topic for another day and probably another blog is stereotype phraseology for characters.... cat fights for women, ho's, etc... But since we are having fun on over sized character personalities, I will amuse myself with very humorous and talented recappers such as yourself.

Netgirl,

LOL. Android might have something to say to Dell. The Bberry was buzzing for my attention too, but I ignored it because it takes forrreverrr to upload Caray Caray to view comments.
It has been relegated to the pocket or purse for the near future.

Mena- Yes, I originally pointed out the Teresa-Mariano duplication in this tn. Glad to see AB Teresa came to her senses much sooner than our last one-- at least I assume that's what happens tonight. Dante is almost as hot as Professor Hottie, and not a bad #2 choice at all! ;-)

Your comment about the way Isa dresses got me thinking about the wardrobe for the women in this tn. They each have totally different styles. It must have been kind of fun for the wardrobe people to create these totally different looks: Cami, Gussy, Ximena, Natalia, Teresa, Miriam, Luzma (Irene has a similar look), Piedad, Vivi, Amanda, Dorotea. They all have very different looks and each of their looks required a lot of thought it seems.

Yes, Viv, Dante is not a bad second choice. But Prof Hottie was pretty easy on the eyes and had a much better role than he does not in AV, IMO.

RE: wardrobe, what I don't get is the color theme in this TN for a few characters. Nat = Yellow, Gussie = purple Isa = animal prints Dio = black . Interesting themes that are in want of an interesting reason to be.

My personal favorite is the Viv wardrobe although I would never wear it because I am too short and the science world would wonder if I wandered in from the Art Department.

The colors are intersting. This producer-director-writer team also had the color themes for the women in En Nombre del Amor and CME. They must have a reason for it. But the same colors don't always mean the same thing. For example in ENDA, purple was reserved for the most evil villainess (played by Leti C. also)-- totally different than Gussy. In ENDA, the junior villainess wore aqua blue and green, while in CME she wore purple. It's never the same.

They don't usually bother doing it with the men. I didn't notice that Dion is always in black-- just noticed that he's always in suits.

Dio frequently wears a black leather jacket.

I posted the colors/styles of the women early on, but we've had some additional ladies since then.

Camila- Long button-down shirts (often checkered) over fitted pants/jeans, and boots
Gussy- All shades of purple
Amanda- All shades of coral (pinks, oranges, reds)
Nat- Yellow
Vivi- Bohemian tops and long, flowing skirts, and funky dangling earrings
Isa- Whites/creams, animal prints, metallics
Piedad- Green
Dorotea- Blue
Luzma and Irene- Flowery skirts and dresses
Miriam- 50s housewife
Teresa- Sexy and the City chic
Ximena- Ramera Wear (short spandex dresses and thigh high boots)
Mayalen- ???

Mena- He does love that black leather jacket. The black suits and jackets are very fitting for him.

In the beginning we noticed the looks on the men too, but then all the guys started working at MQ and started wearing the same look. LOL! Really, just Pablo who lost the vest look. And Dan turned into his namesake Don Daniel with his super fancy charro suits. Now he's doing that casual city guy look.

Dante always manages to look put together and sexy, while relaxed at the same time. Aaron wears his hippy/Chiapas wear. Rafa always looks like he's about to go on safari. Mariano and Yago's looks aren't interesting enough to mention.

Almost forgot Ana's mini-me Camila look. But when she first arrived she was like a mini-me Miriam with flowery girly dresses and bows in her hair.

Here are my additions to your list.

Camila- Long button-down shirts (often checkered) over fitted pants/jeans, and boots. Furry bracelet and bull necklace. One dress, ever!
Gussy- All shades of purple generally with some type of jacket
Amanda- All shades of coral (pinks, oranges, reds)
Nat- Yellow with wedgy shoes
Vivi- Bohemian tops and long, flowing skirts, and funky dangling earrings. Belts and hippy bracelets forever.
Isa- Whites/creams, animal prints, metallics. Strappy platforms or booties with dresses frequently metallic or of animal print
Piedad- Green peasant blouses and old school hacienda skirts.
Dorotea- Blue hacienda skirts
Luzma and Irene- Flowery skirts and dresses, button up sweaters and flats
Miriam- 50s housewife with two- toned shoes
Teresa- Sexy and the City chic with lots of black makeup to go with the jet black hair
Ximena- Ramera Wear (short spandex dresses and thigh high boots)
Mayalen- 5 inch platform shoes and generally modern dresses

Mena- Thinking about the hotness of our AB men literally started a fire in my home. Well, more specifically, in the trash shoot next to my condo unit. Just spent the last half hour right after sending my last message outside in the cold and drizzle with my neighbors. The cute firefighters got the fire out quickly and let us back inside. I was worried I would miss AB! LOL!

Great additions to the list.

Whew, glad you are safe. Enough keyboarding for you about hotties.

Aren't Mayalen's shoes more stiletto than platform? Totally inappropriate for ranch work, even for a ranch secretary. But I guess Nat managed in her platform wedges. :)

Thanks Mena. The smell isn't pleasant, and I am starting to warm up (maybe it's thinking about those hotties again). I'm going to take the blame off of our AB hotties, and lay the blame on a smoker neighbor who didn't want to go outside in the cold and decided to throw their butts down the trash shoot (very likely).

How could I forget Iliana- Dark blue (darker than Dor's light/baby blue). Not sure what you'd call her above the knee strappy/strapless dresses and booties look.
