Amor Bravío #158 (Uni 153) Mon 4/1/13
Labels: bravio
Wow! Luzma was really mean to Pablo tonight. Poor guy just keeps coming back for more punishment. I like how Camila was coaching Luzma through prepping herself for what she would do if she were confronted by Leo again—not letting herself be paralyzed by fear. She also informed Luzma that she had called her psychologist to come make a house call to Luzma. But Cam still didn’t want Luzma to lock herself up in the bedroom like she’s the prisoner.
Yay! Amanda said yes. It sounds to me like Natalia is planning on leaving town, from the hints Amanda dropped to Osvaldo. Nat and Yago were sampling different wedding cakes, by the way. Loved the look on Nat’s face, like you are so not fooling me anymore, jerk.
Glad to see that Yago was concerned about his dad’s health. I wonder if he’s reconsidering his new partnership with Dion after what he heard from Mariano.
Mariano really didn’t like hearing that Dan is the only man Camila has ever let herself rely on. As Rod said, well, it’s the truth. Mariano is just going to have to accept it.
And finally, Dan, Dan, Dan. Although I enjoyed seeing Dion get punched in the gut and face (I have fantasized about it almost as much as Dion has fantasized about Camila), we know no good will come of this.
Yes, the bed did seem too small for Daniel LOL
I am scared for Luzma, where are the blood hounds, why isn't anyone picking up his scent?? Wasn't he in the dumpster. He must be reeking, the stench, oh right it's a telenovela. He must have some Febreze with him or something. I smell him through my TV.
I am happy for Vivi, Rafa and Roman, this episode needed something positive.
Maylen never stops, I'm glad that Pablo remains strong, mature and in love. Thank goodness for strong men!!
Like Vivi and Tablet Jefa, I'm happy there were a few good things that happened this episode. Hurray for Amanda and Osvaldo and Vivi, Rafa, and Roman.
Really concerned about whether deluded Cayo will make it to the end of this TN.
I know good character don't do things like this but Dio has so ticked me off I want Cam to pretend to go along w/his plan and shoot, stab, etc him in his bedroom.
I don't know if I'm really buying that Mir is now that upset w/Dan. It seems very convenient for her epiphany to occur days before they leave for Chile.
Smell-O-Vision would not be a good thing here.
Things will definitely still get worse before they get better; Daniel should have remembered that El Diablo has many purchased souls to rely on at least for the moment.
I would love to see someone take Leoncerdo out of this world if only so there is no chance he would ever escape prison again.
Before I retire for the evening, I will post this link to Tosca for the opera lovers on this blog. This is the full film starring Raina Kabaivanska, Placido Domingo, and Sherril Milnes from 1974. Camila, Daniel, and Dionicio are Tosca, Cavaradossi, and Scarpia at this point in the story.
And Mariano was so close to Super status when he actually thought to close the door. But then he leaves without searching pops room for drugs. So close. He should've consulted with the orchestra.

Although I was never really captivated by the Luz/Pablo subplot, I do feel bad for what Pablo is he's going through. I am curious as to how their situation is going to finally be resolved.
I'm glad to see that Miriam is beginning to see the light regarding her marriage and unless she's attempting to make Dan jealous, it looks like she has found the strength to move on. Too bad there's not enough episodes left for Camila to give Dan a hard time before taking him back.

---Really? I think Miriam is understandably upset with Dan due to his lack of attention & communication towards her as of lately. Yes, it is VERY convenient that this is occurring just days before they depart (like that will ever really happen), but of course, something had to happen to keep Dan from going.
I am sorry that my post disagreeing with what I thought you were saying about Isadora's punishment went so very, very, wrong. I did intend to be judgmental - but about Isadora, not about you.
I tried, and failed miserably, to direct my comments at your opinion, not at you.
I do not believe that my opinion - that Isadora deserves as harsh or harsher a fate as those coming to Dio or Leo - should be privileged over yours or anyone else's.
But of course, as it turns out, I was misconstruing your original comment, tilting at the wrong windmill.
You had referred to not looking forward to Isadora's comeuppance with as "blood thirsty" an eye as you were to those of Leo and Dio. Then you said "their fate can't come soon enough or be bad enough." From that, I had gotten the impression that you didn't want Isadora's punishment either a) to come quickly, or b) to be as bad as that of Leo or Dio.
Obviously, on looking back and rereading, I now see that you in fact clearly only said that you were "not anxious" for Isadora "to meet her fate," referring to the timing of her fall, and did not say that her fate should not, ultimately, be very bad indeed.
Thus, I am doubly sorry, both for misunderstanding you and for allowing the vehemence of my disagreement with what I (wrongly) thought you said to lead me to leave an intemperate post.
I may have been wrong about what you were opining (and about what cathyx said as well) but whatever you might have said or meant, I had no business responding in a manner that would make you feel judged.
For the record, if anyone out there really does think that Isadora deserves a lesser punishment than Dio or Leo, I may (ok, I do) disagree, but I would be very interested in finding out why anyone thinks that she isn't down there with the lowest of the low AB has to offer.
All I can come up with in mitigation is that she was treated in a rather dehumanizing way by her own family and Al's father. But even so, her response is radically disproportionate and her choice of victims (at least after Sr. Lazcano the elder) ill-targeted.
Btw, where is licenado Salomon, the only surviving participant in her "sale" to the old man? Did he really skip the country with a briefcase full of cash, or did Isadora meet him on the way to the airport?
Again, I regret having made you, Foxy (or you cathyx), uncomfortable, and will try to be more civil.

UA: Do you really think there's an anvil over Luzma? I think that she'll be fighting back after that pep talk from Camila. Maybe with a big jug of arroz con leche over Leo's head ... his just desserts.
In either his or El Diablo's case it would be completely appropriate for an Agatha Christie finale per Murder on the Orient Express. However, I don't see that happening.
Hipolito -- what more can we say? I have thought for a while that Leo's undoing, as in big anvil, would come from Piedad or Hipolito. We'll see. No use counting on anything here. I certainly didn't see coming what looks like the previews suggest.
Lovely moment between Amanda and Osvaldo. Perhaps Vivi and Rafa will see the marital light. A wedding sure seems easier that establishing their common-law arrangement as part of the adoption process. We will have multiple weddings and couplings during that last episode -- at least I hope so.
Natalia is certainly looking and sounding wise and poised to action. And, Agustina is certainly giving Camila the right advice. But looks like more challenges ahead that will change the existing equations.
NADF- Camila was the one who asked Os to call Dan and warn him about Leo. Then Os asked for an update on the Dion situation so that he could share that with Dan too. So Os didn't go against Camila's wishes when he called Dan.
Of course, she will not be pleased that Dan did such a rash and fruitless thing, which looks like it will only cause Dion to up the ante.
We can certainly expect a lot of twists and turns during the remaining episodes.
We have a story full of victimzed/traumatized women: Camila, Luzma, Viviana, Piedad, Amanda, Natalia, Augustina, Rosario, and Hissadora. Only the latter reacted by becoming evil.
I can't believe how traditional my novela watching sometimes makes me!
Misunderstandings are bound to happen but the sign of a good team like ours is the ability to clear the air and move on.
Wow, what a change in Natalia's demeanor, she has gone from
naivete to conniving & I love it. Can't wait to see what she has in mind for Yago & Dio.
Although I feel Luzma's pain, I hate the way she is treating dear Pablo. I just know it will be Pablo that will save her from a fate worse than death & she will be safely in his arms again.
This mth TV y Novelas gives Amores verdaderos y Corona de lágrimas 4 stars. IMO lagrimas deserves 0 & AV 1, they are both awful. lagrimas equals FELS.
Agree with your anvil alerts, UA, but am hoping that Luzman contemplates murder over suicide...although I agree she appears to be heading in the suicide direction.
Also love your pics of Natalia. The girl has the art of expression down pat:)
I also agree with your likening the situation between Camila, Dio, and Dan to that of Tosca, Scarpia, and Cavaradossi. It's eerie how much the scene in Act II in which she asks him "How much?" and he responds resembles the one here in Amor Bravío. Even his repeated mia's are very much like Dio's repeated "my" and "mine". I just hope (and believe) that Camila and Dan don't wind up the way Tosca and Cavaradossi do. Dio, OTOH, is welcome to share Scarpia's fate. Ojalá.
And while I'm talking about music, Kelly, I loved your "He should have consulted with the orchestra."
Tablet jefa, I broke out laughing at your remark about Leoncerdo: "I smell him through my TV."
TEAM OSWALDO!!!! I got so choked up when Amanda told him yes! I just love that guy. He has been so loyal to Amanda and, while he's not such a looker, that type of devotion goes a long way in my book. I love Amanda too. The actress who plays her just seems so nice.
I agree with everyone who is concerned about the way Luzma is treating Panlo. Somewhere in all this it seems she's crossed a line and is just being mean to him. These writers have been sooooo good but this storyline doesn't ring true (IMHO!)
Loved seeing Dio bleed!
I hope we get a little vengeance soon and don't have to wait til the very last episode.
Thanks so much, UA!
Katy
Where the two forms finally part company is the way the stories end.
Does anybody know what replaces Lagrimas? If it's Corzaon Indomable I might pass. I just read it's a remake of Marimar which I couldn't stand.
I'm changing to telemundo after AB.
El señor de los cielos, starts 4/15
I hope someone wants to recap.
It has Viviana in it y Rafael Amaya, don't know of him.
Interested yet UA?
If Camila has already told everyone about Dio's offer, why would she keep his next offer silent? It'd be harder to send someone to hurt Dan, et al, if they are in Chile and know about the threat. Hubris will be his downfall. And that downfall will be good.
Kelly
UA; Corazon is very attractive and Cesar Evaro is no Dionisio Ferrer; I went from hating him to wanting to cuddle him. So, if you want to give it a look at first before dismissing it when it airs on Univision.
In spite of an appealing cast for Qué Bonita Amor, I wasn't impressed by the little snippets they've shown, and what folks here have said about Mejia discourages me further.
My only hesitation about moving to Telemundo is that I want and need the delightful daily recaps. I recall only one TN where CarayCaray provided daily recaps. That was for "El Clon." Several brave and immensely talented volunteers wrote recaps on more than one day each week, and one of them persuaded Melinama to set aside a separate space for the recaps. But I think eventually there were only two recappers, both superb, but totally exhausted, if I recall correctly, by the time El Clon was over. It would be GREAT if we could find five recappers for "El Señor de las Cielos." If only my Spanish weren't so dreadful....
Seeing Rodolfo again might be worth watching CI.
I'll endure Mejia's faults for my two main men (JS and PM), who are rivals in this one. My biggest complaint with Mejia is his constant obsession with having comic relief in every episode. That is the worst thing to do to a good story. This series will also have Arturo Peniche and between those three men and the good music it should have it will be worth my time. I've already downloaded my new internet forum sig for it and will look for more poster shots for my recap entries.
Katy - ITA w/you about Luzma. Her actions have turned mean and for me not only does it not ring true, its annoying b/c the obvious goal is to make Pablo really consider NG.
I was wondering last night how much more Cam can take. So much has happened to her one thing right after another, since Miriam returned from the dead.
I think Vivi will marry Rafa. As the adoption proceedings move ahead, I think she’ll realize that she wants a traditional family unit.
I like (probably not the best word) how Luz is stern (mean) to Pablo and then when he leaves, she breaks down. I know that sounds weird.
The crying TN at 7:00 is in Ultimas Capitulos. Is the William Levy one replacing it?—Thanks Variopinta, you read my mind. I’d go to TM to watch El Senor de los Cielos, but without the recaps, I’d be lost.
UA: NG being a victim. I wondered that, too. If Leo can't get to Luz right away, he may "practice" on her.
Nanette
I was looking forward to seeing Jorge Salinas again, and, as you say, Arturo Peniche is in the cast as well (I loved him ever since En Nombre del Amor), but I was rather turned off by the excerpts I saw. Moreover, I know this is heresy to say on CarayCaray, but I can take mariachis only in small doses. Anyway, unless El Señor de los Cielos turns out to be a real dud (not impossible), I think I'll watch that, and perhaps catch glimpses of Jorge and Arturo during commercial breaks.
So Isa got the old fogy to sign on the dotted line. Not sure how that will get undone. I liked that Isa overheard the convo between Mariano and Yago and now thinks Dion has turned against her by putting MQ on the line. Maybe those two will take each other out in the end.
I admit that I FF through the Pablo/Luzma/NewGirl scenes. I can't stand that story line anymore. Why wouldn't Luzma agree to leave town in order to stay away from Leo?
I think that after the talk Miriam had with Dan, she's getting a clue of how her future with Dan will be. I'm betting she's assessing the situation to see if she wants to continue as planned. That's what I would do. She see's that he will not be going back to how he was before, no matter how much time passes, and she needs time to figure out if this is acceptable or not.
I would be up for recapping, but I do have limited time, so they may not be as timely as you are used to. But I will only recap if there is a team, not by myself.
Juanita- Part of the trouble with doing full daily recaps for Telemundo shows is that there just isn't enough payback (comments) from Telemundo watchers for all the work it takes to do recaps. I remember the dedication the two recappers on El Clon put into it. I used to read the recaps, and would even comment on occasion, even though I didn't watch the show, because I hate, hate, hate seeing a recap with few comments. I know the recappers put so much time and effort into them, and the El Clon ones even had great pics-- it just hurts me not to see comments. When they re-aired Dona Barbara recently, I read the old recaps and was shocked by how few comments there were on daily recaps of such a great tn.
Like you can't inherit if you kill the person you are inheriting from.
Nanette- I think I might know what you mean about that scene with Luzma. The way she broke down crying in her mother's arms as soon as she kicked Pablo out (in a cruel way) shows that the way she is with Pablo is just a front. She really does need the love and care of her mother AND Pablo (no matter how much she denies it).
Re Miriam: IMO, it wasn't so much a sudden "epiphany" as Miriam reaching her limit of frustration with Daniel and their situation. I think she's suddenly snippy and sarcastic with him because all of a sudden he's all "I'll go with you ... I'll take you ..." (his heart is not in it, so he seems fake to her) while he's mind is still obviously elsewhere. She told him "I don't need to be attached to you 24-7, I just need the courtesy of communication so I know what's going on, where you are" (I'm paraphrasing).
UA - I agree about the wire and I think that if Dan and Aaron had been involved in helping Camila with her meeting with Satan they would have thought about it. They are much more cognizant of Dio's intelligence and are more tech-savvy than the Scoobies II.
Soyyo
Also, even if we can't get daily recaps for El Señor de los Cielos, I wonder whether somehow Gato Viejo could be persuaded to provide daily transcripts, as s/he has done for Amor Bravío. Even though I usually watch AB with Spanish captions, often they go by too quickly. I find it VERY helpful to be able to refer to the transcript to see passages that I missed. And occasionally, if I've had a power outage and have to try to find the episode later on YouTube, there won't be any captions, and I'm even more dependent on and grateful for Gato Viejo's transcripts.
If Gato Viejo could do transcripts for El Señor de los Cielos, that would be a big help.
And yes, Gato Viejos transcripts would be wonderful.
I think there will be more response since Mejia is looming. After AB, QBA it will be a big disappointment I fear. FELS had Jorge Salinas & Pablo Montero & nothing could save it. The only thing worthwhile were Guillermo Garcia Cantu y Diana Bracho, fantastic villains, what a waste.
Even in the worst TN's there are super performances.
I think that someone mentioned that despite Mir's return, Cam and Dan never divorced.

We can agree to disagree that Camila gave Os permission to tell Dan. My take on it is that he specifically told her he was asking about the Dion situation in order to inform Dan. That fact that she didn't say no, means she gave her permission. After the last time Dan got so mad and hurt that she wasn't telling him what the plans were and what was going on (after she and Mariano kicked him out of the hostel and they met accidentally at Vivi's house), Cam apologized and admitted he does have a right to know what's going on. She doesn't want him to butt in and involve himself, but she does believe he has a right to be kept updated on the Isa-Dion situation. I think that’s fair because he does have very real reasons to know how things are progressing, even if only to add to the info he needs to bring his case against Dion in Chile.
Now back to the show.
Vivi, about Luzma, I was wondering, why do tns abound with women like Luzma,Natalia,(AB) Marichuy(CCA)who are headstrong and impossible that they begin to irritate tn watchers. Just saying.
And I was about to scream when I thought Mariano was going to tell Iago the "steal the briefcase at the bachelorette" party plan. Did he think the better of it, or did he really not know it? I can't remember.
I liked Miriam's new doctor's skepticism. Perhaps he skipped his med school classes on soap opera diseases, such as traumatic brain injuries that are only dangerous when you find out upsetting secrets, but allow you to make long trips, including by plane, safely.
Would you put Natalia in the same category as Luzma? I would say Nat's problem up till now was swallowing/burying her pride and not demanding the respect she deserved (with Yago)-- just the opposite of being headstrong. Now she's back to her senses, and we'll just have to wait to see what her plans are. But she's cool as a cucumber and thinking her next move through very carefully.
Luzma on the other hand is not thinking coolly or rationally. But considering her horrific experience, her PTSD, and her age, I'm cutting her a lot of slack for handling her unconsummated marriage so badly.
I only saw bits of CCEA, but that character just seemed stupid. I know many loved that tn and the character, but from the parts I saw, she always seemed to have a deficient thought process (a dumb bunny). Whereas I find Luzma to be quite smart and rational-- when it doesn't concern her love/sex life with Pablo.
Camila’s headstrong too, as are most tn heroines. If they were all sweetness and light and conformist, then tns wouldn’t be interesting or fun, and we’d find these heroines to be boring. Others who have watched tns for years can probably make a better comparison between heroines who are headstrong, and those who always remained more even tempered.
