JM walking Balzac in the park, throwing the stick... so cute Balzac barks back 'i get it' and then does not go after it. Here is Estefano... Aahhh the looks between these two...
Angel at hosp with doctor, worried no reason to keep Vicky at hosp anymore... baring any infection. but she is getting antibiotics... cute, he hessitates to go in her room... then slowly approaches her and caresses her face, hair... here is KenDrat to spoil the moment.

JA slides away as KenDrat wakes Vicky up to play the innocent friend who came to see how she is.
outside the room Cris nagging talking to herself that she is holding back the need to rant at JA that he never called her. But she will follow KenDrat's advice, and will stand for her dignity.
Back to the park... JM and Estefano do the usual how are you greetings... JM has become so fond of the dog, he feels sad he has to say goodbye.
Inside hospital room, KenDrat announces to JA she will stay a while to keep Vicky company. JA reluctantly walks out. But Niki, Anibal and He-man (Guzman) arrival save the day for Vicky. They announce to Vicky that they are working on preparations for Niki's wedding. As Niki tells Vicky she dreams of marrying Roy, this is cue He-man uses to take his leave. KenDrat takes her leave.
Anyballs tells Niki that Vicky will be in hospital and Nil-Son will be real busy at office, but he wants Niki to go forward with her wedding plans. Niki wants to get married at hacienda. (not sure Niki can plan her own wedding, can she?)
KenDrat is barking at JA in front of He-man in hallway about him letting Vicky get shot. JA not willing to discuss the issue with her, but tells her if he were there he would have defended Vicky with his own life. (He-Man is making all kinds of 'WTH' faces at hearing all this) When JA walks away from her He-Man asks him why he barked at her, JA does not like her. duh! says He-man. tell me something i dont know.
Ni-Son arrives and grabs KenDrat rudely, what are you doing here? visiting a friend... (Dances arrived with Nil-Son and he, JA and He-Man witness how Nil-Son drags KenDrat away... He-man deducts that there must be something beyond work going on between Ni-Son/KenDrat. JA does not want to weigh in. He-Man is worried about Niki finding out that precisely her best friend is her dad's mistress.
Inside room, Niki gives Vicky the card from Lilli with her get well wishes, hugs and prayers. Vicky likes the gesture, Niki says she just wants to 'kiss up to her'. Vicky asks 'are you jealous?' Niki denies. Anyballs watches as mother and daughter embrace lovingly.
Back outside, at hospital parking, Nil-Son still arguing with KenDrat, who is willing to do a DNA test... whether you want to or not, you will have to give your surname to my daughter. But doctor told her they can't do DNA test until she is 3 months along. (i must be behind in medical advances, i thought the baby had to be born first). Nil-Son nags that she had promised to stay hidden, but now she only wants to cause him trouble. KenDrat says not true! Vicky is your wife but i love you and make you happy. He won't deny that. But he is angry she told Niki about the baby and went to see Vicky. KenDrat plays the hurt mistress. Crocodile tears on both idiot and snake. he asks for time. she plays sacrificial lover, she will go far away. (if she were only honest in saying that... but mala hierba nunca muere o desaparece)
At B house, Tomasina receives a note. it is from Cuinclavo(? LOL) Bonaparte saying he lost his cell phone, and they transferred him to another town for work. Polita comments so much for that romance. Tomasina says water rabbits don't like long distance relationships (LOL!!) and that the note says he will look for her again upon his return. Tomasina headed for hospital. Polita worried JM is taking long at the park.
Speaking of JM at park, Estefano very thankful to JM. JM sad he has to say goodbye to Balzak. Estefano says the fuschia bow does not go with Balzak personality, so JM takes it off. Estefano feels bad. (my tv hiccupped, but they must ahve agreed to something, they are laughing). Estefano asks Balzak who he wants to stay with. then hands him over to JM to keep, but with condition that he will keep the name Balzak, not liking 'Monet' much. They laugh again.
Tomasina arrives at hosp. Offers to take Niki back home. Niki says will go home with He-Man. Little-man (Roy) arrives to hear this and is miffed at hearing it. Niki says you can come along. Niki and Little-man leave.
Vicky tells Tomasina that she thinks JA wants to get away from her. She did not dare answer his confession. Tomasina assures her JA does not want to get away from her on purpose. But because Nil-Son demanded him to keep his distance. Vicky impactada.
Back at parking lot Nil-Son tells Dances he does not feel like seeing Vicky anymore, but assures Dances that there is noone and nothing above his marriage, not even a child of his. He wants Dances to investigate KenDrat background, past relationships and family. he wants to know what kind of genes he is sharing in this baby, IFF he is the dad. (Whatever these genes are, they are an improvement over your half, idiot!)
Back in Vicky's room, she tells Tomasina, maybe keeping contact with JA to a minimum is for the better, it is a constant temptation to have him near her. Outside the room, Adriana arrives and greets JA. you never rest? dont worry about me. will watch your sister 24 hours. Just need a relay for a moment for a potty break. Adriana very thankful to him for being there.
At some restaurant, Little-man Roy and Niki are sitting on one table, He-Man eating alone at next talbe over(YIKES!!). Roy likes the idea of the wedding at the hacienda. Little-man makes it a point to say that with Anyballs money everything is easier. Niki says KenDrat offered to help. Little-man says besides KenDrat, Vicky and his mom's help, they also need a wedding planner... (a bit of overkill, don't you think? Rats find it so easy to spend other folks money.) Niki says they are contacting Jeanely, the best wedding planner in the country. Niki makes it a point to hurt He-man by saying he knows the hacienda so he can handle the security plans. He-man very reluctantly stands up to get closer to them and suggests they rent a backup generator. Little-man says 'wake up silly, it is a wedding, not a rock concert'. He-man returns the punch by saying he is only saying it cause he knows Niki gets terrified when lights go out. Niki dagger-stares at him, remembers that night at hacienda. hugging him at every thunder. and their kisses and their making out. (He-man also remembering it, they exchange stares)
Nighttime at B house. JM has brought Balzak in the house. JM says Estefano and him share a son. Polita comments that 'la luzbel' (Odiosa, Estefano's mom) is grandmother of this puppy.
Little-man Roy arrives home to announce to his parents that Anyballs will pay for the wedding. His dad says 'say yes to the dress, ... i mean.. to everything'. Mom brings up that they now have to get an engagement ring. Little-brains Roy says 'as soon as you give me the money i will go buy it'. Dad quick-thinks that they will tell the B family that it is a custom in the Pavia family that Niki should wear a ring that has been in the P family a long time. Little-man Roy tells mom 'you will have to give me your best ring'... She is not a happy camper. (visibly consumed by guilt since Vicky is her close friend and they are tricking V).
(I wish Nil-Brain would get his wish, for his daughter to marry Little brain trickster moolah-sucker Roy for son in law, but that would not be fair on Niki, Vicky or the rest of family.. sigh)
KenDrat tells Inepto (Espanto) to lay low for a few weeks while the investigation goes on. Dances arrives and asks Inepto what he is doing there. Inepto reminds him if it were for the lawyer you got me, i would still be in the cooler. Dances says if you keep working for KenDrat, you will go right back in the cooler. Then Dances goes to mangle KenDrat's arm, warning her to stop messing with the B's. Dances tells them he is on to them. he now knows why KenDrat asked him for Tomasina's birthdate (for the chinese calendar), they are the kidnappers. KenDrat says she warned him! Inepto needed money and she found a way to get it! What did Nil-Son say? did my 'play victim' plan work? Dances announces NAH!!! On the contrary, he ordered me to get a full report on YOU!! And if you dont want me to tell all to Nil-Son, you better behave with me from here on, and leave Miss V in peace, or my boss will find out that you were an ordinary HO and got in the country with false documents, Macaria Chavez. KenDrat warns him 'If I fall, you slip!'. (I gotta remember that one) Dances recommends she get money from Nil-Son, but no more kidnappings or attempts to kill. Got that? KenDrat warns she could tell Bea about him, he dares her, lets see who looses more (como tocamos!).
Back at hospital after such an exciting wrestling/dare match... such a calm contrast, Tomasina with Vicky. Tomasina tells Vicky God is giving her a second chance at life. You are not the same, you were born again. Vicky says you are right, you dont know how i feel having JA outside the door, so close and yet so far. Tomasina says that can be fixed, let me get him. V says dont. Go have some breakfast instead. On her way out Tomasina offers JA to bring something. He asks for coffee. Then he is resisting walking in. (did I say i love both this 'amor verdadero' and the Niki/He-man song lyrics?). we see both JA and Vicky faces... he is worried, she is crying.
Later in the day, Anyballs is sitting watching over Vicky. Adriana is also there. She and Anyballs exchange some stares.
At police station, Dances, Zamrano, Polita, JA are being given lie detector tests...
At park, JM and Estefano play with Balzak, JM is wearing a fuschia pant and horrific sweater.
Little-man is practicing and Niki is sitting at stands, with He-man standing nearby, not happy. Little-man and Niki kiss right in front of He-man... he looks away apparently unaffected.
At hospital room, JA walks in. He and Vicky exchange glances and smiles.
Polita is happily mopping kitchen, keeps giving Lilli the silent treatment.
Nil-Son continues to try to kiss-a__ back with Vicky.., she is unmoved, barely gives him a forced smile smirk.
KenDrat and Cris at spa... Niki and Vicky look over wedding dresses in magazines.
Cristina at apartment is waiting awake, is about to call JA but hangs up quickly.
JA watches over Vicky, apparently not even changing clothes (EWWW!!), helps her with therapy, walking. He is crying at times. peeks in when family is visiting Vicky and is happy when Doctor tells family she is doing well.

At B house, Dances is supervising the extra security cameras and equipment that has been installed around the house. Dances reassures Tomasina that not even a fly can come in without them knowing it.
Vicky arrives with He-man, Niki, Anyballs and Nil-Son. Nil-Son still very rude to JA when he offers to help Vicky up the stairs. Vicky thanks Lilli for her card.
Cris calls JA on cell phone, she is angry, he says they just got to the house. She demands he come talk to her. Dances offers JA to cover for him if he has to go home to deal with anything.
Police tells Anyballs that they have no evidence to link Odiosa (Odette) to the Victoria shooting.
Vicky and Nil-Son talking in her bedroom, she thanks him for all the hard work at the office. He says is there anything else i can do for you? She wants him to go back to the guest room. (LOL!!) He says you can't do that, think of our daughter! V says Niki is so busy with wedding she won't even notice. Have to end this 'happy couple' farse. (he is angry, leaves the room)
At office, Bea tells Gilda she is so happy Guillo and Dances get along so well. She wants Guillo to be calm. The lawyer will give Leo the demand for divorce any moment now.
we see the lawyer trying to deliver the papers. The neighboor lady tells the lawyer he left with his things more than 2 wks ago. he has not been back since.
Cris is all over JA, nagging him for having been with Vicky nonstop the whole 15 days. IS THAT NORMAL?? ( i would say ...honestly?... No) JA puts as excuse that is what he is paid for, to protect her. Cris argues that everything has a limit (I have to agree). he never returned her calls. time stopped for him. all he cared about was to care for 'holier than tho' Miss Vicky. JA asks her to please understand. Cris says 'precisely because i understand, i am stepping aside, so you can think about what you want to do with your life. i am tired of being a hurdle for you. i don't know you (anymore). You are no longer the man i married 20 yrs ago. i think the best is that we split for a while.' (he is in disbelief) 'Dont tell me that. not that. i will do what you want. if you want me to quit, i quit. if you want us to go back to town, we will go back. i will do what you ask.. really.' ' i want you to realize what you will lose for a transitional relationship... so the best is that we give ourselves time. i will separate from you.'

Estefano and Jean Marie are now going to share custody visits with Balzac! Estefano tells Jean Marie to take off the pink bow from Balzac because it's too 'gay' -- and what does Jean Marie do? He shows up in shocking pink pants during their first custody visit. Not sure how far the writers will allow this subplot to develop. But it's one of the more amusing developments in this TN.

Madelaine, many tears were indeed shed. We've all surmised that something has to give here and unfortunately Cris seems to be "it". Still, her latest actions (while heartfelt) aren't ringing true. I've always felt JA and Vicky would never truly be happy together by knowing they decimated Cris. While I want them to be together, I'm not comfortable that things have progressed to the point that Cris knows without a doubt JA and Vicky are in love. He has admitted his love to Vicky, she has admitted her love for him to herself. Will they be able to leave it at that?

I have to say that Eduardo Yanez is beyond handsome. Those loving looks and divine smiles had me swooning. He loves Vicky so much, he never left her side and his tears seemed so real.
Sad to see him outside the family circle when it is he (not Nelson) who deserves to be with them.
I realize I'm contradicting what I just posted but the writers are doing a fabulous job of making me want love to prevail yet making me uncomfortable as it does.

There is a lot that is puzzling about the story. TNs usually stay pretty moral; I am wondering if the writers are putting a trial of alternate morality out there and seeing how their audience tolerates it. Estefano and Jean Marie-for example. Arriaga and Vicki-I think the writers are seeing how far they can go. IMHO. If this story is popular I wonder if we will see more of this stuff.
I find the story plot pretty dull, and seems to exist primarily for the sexual content. I had to stop watching it for awhile. I felt it was a shame because the cast was very good and captivating.

Cris was influenced to separate from JA by Kendra's advice. Even though Kendra's plan is for Vickie and JA to fall into each other's arms, I actually think Cris is doing the right thing cause JA's benign neglect is crushing her.
Balzac is cute as a button, but not the best actor. He hasn't seen his master in weeks and he doesn't even jump in his lap or lick his face? I guess Balzac breed is just laid back.

I too don't like the advice Kendho gave Cris. Now she has played right into Kendho's hands. I wish that Cris and the Angel had had a longer convo. The Angel is so torn between Ms Vikki and Cris. But he would never leave Cris and now she is leaving him. I agree with you Marta, he should have at least gone home at some point and spent some time with Cris. I can't believe I am saying this, but he blew her off. And BTW loved Cris' dress, not the color so much but the style looked really good on her. I can't blame her for being so angry and trying to let him go.
I like how Ms Vikki was trying to reign her feelings in and not having the Angel with her constantly. I think she is trying to fight her feelings but the more she tries to do that the more she seems to want the Angel. I don't know how she is going to hide her feelings, she really isn't good at that.

I always thought the baby had to be born to do a DNA test on.

Marta, thank you for filling in the many conversational and story gaps I had last night. I did not understand what Francisco and "little man" (good one) were discussing that brought back the Francisco/Nikki near coupling memories but do now, thanks to you. The title was very clever and your recap was wonderful as always.

Not aware that Kendra has ever dispensed ANY valuable (or honest) advice, but I think Cris did select the only viable option she had. The alternatives to either suffer in silence (an almost impossible task for her)or continue to rage and spew recriminations (breaking down the relationship to an irretrievable low) seemed no longer feasible. I was relieved JA did offer to quit and go back to the country - at least his conscience is still functioning. Glad Cris did not give in and accept that option as she likely knows in her heart she would be relocating them but not solving the problem.

In a way JA had already separated from Cris. He just didn’t announce it. He never came home, even for a shower. I know that most of the Amores watchers can't wait to see JA in Vicki's arms but for me I will know that what was once a happy marriage had been shattered into a thousand pieces by a love for another woman. I for one will not be happy about it. Poor Cris, she didn't step over the line, she doesn't deserve it. I feel for her.

Gringo:... if roller boy goes again after Lilly, i think if he sneaks under the radar or Angel, he certainly won't sneak under He-man once it is public what his intentions were with Niki and now with Lilly but i dont think he will go after Lilly, remember he went after her because she was wearing a nice dress/clutch/shoes given to her by Vicky. once he realizes who she is he will definitely lose interest in her for long term and if he tries to seduce/abuse her, he will have two fierce men (or should I say an angel and a gorilita) breaking his bones.

Cris' problem is her approach at trying to save her marriage. Nagging at him constantly rudely like that is not going to help anything... even if the idea of temporary separation is somewhat acceptable. But her working for KenDrat and his working for Vicky is not doing anything FOR their marriage to survive.
I too agree that Anyballs will be digging deep into the 'Pavia' family and will cry 'WHOA UP THERE!!' before this marriage is completed. Especially with Little man acting the way he is... he is worse than Nil-Son, whom i have always thought he copies after. Neither of these losers has or is anywhere near what they brag about.

But we can't blame ONLY Arriaga for the doom of his marriage. In my opinion he and Cris married too young and the only reasons they lasted so long was that 1. they lived in their own little countryside bubble world and 2. they firmly believe in the "till death do us part". But then they were exiled from their paradise thanks to that lawyer who stole their money and Kendra's henchmen who burned down the little house on the prairie. And suddenly Cris realized that she wants to be more than a housewife and she wants a more glamorous, nicer lifestyle, and Angel realized that he's into a woman with whom he can actually have a conversation.
They grew apart from each other, and they both suck at fighting for their marriage. Arriaga cleary doesn't want to break his vows, but he isn't strong enough to stay away from Victoria. And Cristina also showed many times that she has no idea how to deal their problems. Up until the last I don't know, 20 episodes she was only nagging at him.

And every single time something big happens in this show, Victoria and Arriaga are always accused that in five episodes they would end up in a bed together. Yet they resisted. Yet they fought against their feelings. Have a little faith in them. :)

Cris started wanting to have a professional career only after she was alone at home going stir crazy while JA was bodyguarding and Lili was gardening and JA got the modeling gig. She simply wanted to progress with the rest of her family.
I'm not saying that JA and Cris should stay together, but their breakup has been triggered by outside interference. JA began with comforting Miss Vickie due to her neglect and hurt from Nelson, etc. Hopefully someone will do the same for Cris.

Well said Aribeth. Fair and balanced. He and Cris did marry too young. But the crux of the problem I believe was perfectly summarized in your "Angel realized that he's into a woman with whom he can actually have a conversation". Exactly. And a calm and mature one at that.
I'm not sure Cris can move on or heal her wounds at this point but I wish her all the best. She absolutely deserves happiness.

I must have missed out on their stimulating conversations. I don't see either as an intellectual giant or particularly deep thinker. I see the mutual attraction and and hear the call of the snails but I've seen her paintings, heard her poetry and observed her family and social skills.
She's unhappily married... he's restless... And then of course the snails are calling...

Oh come on, how many stimulating conversations are there in a usual telenovela? Not many. :) But at least Vicky and Angel had many talks about their parents, their children, their past, what they are passionate about, and these kind of things.

Up until the time the story started, they had a very simple life back in their hometown, with no complications or tests or challenges in front of them. Suddenly they find themselves in the city, with pretty much nothing to their name(lost all to lawyer and the fire) and, as fate would have it, living off the B family one way or another.
And to think it all started with a simple innocent job interview...
Once exposed to the city life, Cris begins to see that women work outside the house, make decisions, and enjoy some fun activities,etc, and she wants to add some of that 'spice/excitement' to her life... but looks for it in all the wrong places and the wrong people(Paula, KenDrat).
JA gets to witness other marriages/relationships and feels a void opening, realizes he can have a deeper, more fulfilling relationship than what he had to date, like Opalina said 'fate is there for people who meet each other and didn't even realize they were looking/lacking'

oh i usually am not that violent thinking but i want He-man to punch some teeth out of little man's smirky smiles and bratting. soooo bad.
I am with Aribeth, Carlos... Vicky and Arriaga don't discuss very philosophical or scientific stuff, they discuss matters of the heart, and are honest about themselves and what they care about. (of course except their feelings for each other until last night, but i blame that on their high respect for their corresponding marriage vows)

Things that went through my mind as I watched this episode:
- Wouldn't JA be a very ineffective bodyguard if he were sleep and food deprived? Seems to defeat the purpose.
- Surely the Pavias can sell something in that big mansion of theirs that will allow them to buy a nice engagement ring!
- I guess Salsero is a great liar, or those lie detector tests are ineffective.
- I wonder where Leo has gone?
Yes, you can get DNA from a fetus starting at 3 months, but there is some risk.
I think Vicky isn't fighting the Roy-Nikki marriage anymore because she has done all she can do. She has now spoken to Nikki about it numerous times, and the only purpose that serves is to make Nikki more resentful and bratty. At this point, all she can do is let her 22 year old adult daughter make this mistake, fall on her face, and be there later to help pick her up.

Estefano said the pink bow didn't go with Balzac's personality. It was the name Monet that he thought was "too gay." I laughed at JM's giggle when he said that, he was probably remembering when he discarded the name 'Fifi' as being too gay when he first found Balzac.

The house is all secure - no one is coming in! Right, but everything that has happened has not been because of anyone coming in, but rather the targets going out! They need a law enforcement training session on how not to be victims (don't evade your bodyguards; don't fall for stupid stories; don't trust your HO girlfriend, etc).
