Amores Verdaderos #117 Thu 4/25/13 The Trampire Strikes Back
Restaurant: Jean Marie and Estefano are having a romantic lunch. Jean Marie encourages Estafano to tell Odd-ette that her only son is gay and has a lover. Esefano says he will do it when the time is right; his explains that mother works hard and is often irritable because she is naturally a crazy b*tch. Jean Marie agrees to wait. He's happy because they will get to hang out at Nikki's wedding.
Ballsvanera Mansion Foyer: Kendra begs for Vikki's forgiveness. She knows that her spawn will change the agency's plan. She didn't know how Vikki would react when she learned of her pregnancy. Mother and daughter agree that Kendra will have their support even if she can't depend on the father of her baby. Kendra fakes like she is getting up to leave. Nikki tells her father to tell Kendra to stay. Vikki tells Kendra that Tomasina is getting a guest room ready for her and suggests that Kendra stay untill the police discover who robbed her apartment. For once, Nelson and I are in total agreement. The dark leader of the evil Trampire cannot occupy Richguy headquarters. It's just not right! Nelson says that Salsero will take Ken Invader to the police station to make a report, but he is vetoed.
Restaurant: Snooze. Who cares, but I gotta report what I see. The boys are still discussing Estefano's coming out party. Jean Marie thinks that Odd-ette will accept their relationship because she's a modern open-minded woman. Estefano would rather stay in the closet until Odd-ette dies.
Odd-ette's Office: Odd-ette's assistant, Lucila, tells her that Estefano may have went out on a romantic date. She assumes this because he was grooming himself more than usual. This news pleases Odd-ette because she getting old and needs some evil grandkids to inherit the family business.
Ballsvanera Mansion Foyer: Nelson suggests that they put Kendra up in a hotel instead. There's going to be a lot of activity for the wedding and Kenda and his unborn kid will be a nuisance. Ken Invader agrees, then fakes massive labor pains. In between fake labor pains, Kendra whips out a phone and calls her OBGYN. Vicky takes the phone and gives the doctor the address. While Vikki talks to the doctor, Nikki runs to get water. Nelson tells Ken Invader that she's gotta get the hell up out of the Richguy headquarters. She'll get them both killed. Kendra tells Nelson that it will be his fault if she loses their baby.
Arriaga Apartment: Arriaga is being a downer. He's upset because Christina's chair is empty. He's still whining about his wife's death and he's totally bumming me out. Dilusional Disney Princess Lilliana tells him her mother is still with them. She felt her mother's presence when she was chilling with the orchids and talking to small forest animals in the greenhouse. Arriaga, might be a downer, but he's still sane. He tells his daughter that Christina is not with them. She's dead, he stresses to his daughter. He gets more bummed out because they spent their last days together fighting over stupid crap. Candelaria, the Oompa Loompa assures him that Christina died loving him.
Ballsvanera Mansion/Nelson's Office: Nelson is slamming back cocktails. If I were him, I drink a few doubles. He explains to Salsero that Kendra is staying in the house with his family because her condo was robbed of everything valuable. This is a complete surprise to Salsero because he only took the DVD and left all of her valuables. Nelson wants Salsero to call of his contacts and get the dark and evil leader of the Trampire out of the Richguy headquarters. Salsero doesn't think that would be a good idea because all of his police contacts are fake. He tells Nelson that there will be a scandal if he uses his fake police contacts. They will discover that Nelson's fingerprints, DNA and biological fluids are all over that apartment. Once they use the black light on the sheets, their affair will become pubic. Nelson reluctantly agrees. Wisely, Nelson deduces that Kendra used the robbery to strategicalyl invade the Richguy base. He knows that if his family discovers that he is Kendra's baby's father, he's going down.
Ballsvanera Mansion/Guest Bedroom: Las Balsvanera are comforting Kendra when her doctor arrrives (dressed in a lab coat). Las Balsvaneras leave so that the doctor can examine the patient. Once they are alone, Kendra leaps from the bed. The doctor is her plastic surgeon, not the OBGYN. The doctor is freaked. Kendra tells him that she just needs him to convince the Richguys that she is delicate and has to stay in bed in order to avoid a miscarriage.
Ballsvanera Mansion/Nelson's Bedroom: The booze in not calming Nelson's nerves. After checking the safe, Nelson discovers that the "smoking gun" video of Arriaga and Vicky is missing. He throws the glass of booze to the floor. Salsero rushes into the room. Nelson tells him that the porno has been stolen. Once again, Salsero plays the innocent. Nelson believes that Anibal had something to do with this caper because Anibal knows the combination. Well, then Duh! The constant booze binges has dulled his senses and he needs AA. Why would you leave the blackmail evidence in the safe knowing that the blackmailee shares the combination? They don't recommend it the Blackmailer's guide.
Ballsvanera Mansion Foyer: Nicky prays for Kendra's unborn baby, who is her unborn brother/sister but Nicky doesn't know it yet. Guzman walks in and notices Nicky's distress. He asks what's up. Nicky informs Guzman, that Kendra's is preggers and her apartment was robbed. Oh Sh*t! Although he didn't say them, I know Guzman was thinking those words.
Arriga's Apartment: Salsero gives Arriaga the "smoking gun". He wants Arriaga to get back to work because no one watches Vicky's body better that Arriaga. Arriaga, who appears to need a shower, breaks the DVD.
Ballsvanera Dining Room: Vicky scarfs down her food and Nicky pushes it around on her plate. Vicky asks Tomasina if Anibal will be joining them. Nikki is worried about her unborn sibling. Victoria tells her that the doctor gave Kendra a shot to halt the miscarriage. Kendra is on bedrest in their house. Nikki says that she sent her father to apologize to Kendra for being rude to her.
Ballsvanera Mansion/Guest Bedroom: Nelson is cussing Kendra out as she lies in bed (probably wearing one of Vicky's white silk robes). Nelson tells her to hit the bricks. He can't have the leader to the evil Trampire occupying Richguy base. Kendra assures him that she won't cause any problem. Nelson says that her presence in that house makes him feel awkward and guilty. Kendra reminds Nelson that Victoria had an affair with Arriaga inside that house. She is AWESOME!!!!!! Nelson suggest that Kendra call her aunt Puchis. Kendra can't call her aunt Puchis because Puchis is Salsero and he hates her guts. Kendra says aunt Puchis isn't dependable.
Odd-ettes Office: Odd-ette has opened Estefano's invitation to Nicky's wedding. It's on a 8 X 11 card. She's a little put out that she was not invited to the wedding of the century. Estefano suggests that she may not have been invited because well....she's a big b*tch and the Ballsvanera's don't like her. Estefano tells his mother that he is in a relationship. She's thrilled. She recalls the time when her friend with gaydar suggested that Estefano might be a confirmed bachelor. Odd-ette says that she would rather her son be dead that be like Rock Hudson or Liberace. Odd-ette wants to meet the person who stole his heart.
Ballsvanera Mansion/Staff Dining Area: It's chow time. Everyone's happy that Zambrano is back and he finally gets to say more than three words and gets more camera time. Polita reveals that Jean Marie is dating Estefano.
Ballsvanera Mansion/One of the Many Living Rooms: Vicky and her father, Anibal, are talking about the DVD. Vikki is happy that Nikki will never get to see it. Anibal says that he will do anything to protect the Richguy way. Tomasina announces that Odd-ette has come to visit. Anibal is cannot contain his displeasure. Odd-ette wants to see both Nikki and Vikki.
Ballsvanera Mansion/Guest Bedroom: Kenda carresses the jewels that were stolen from Vicky. She hopes that her baby is proud of her for being a big murdering thief. Salsero walks in and observes that she is one bold trampire. Kendra knows that it was Salsero who took the tape. Salsero reveals that he gave the DVD to Arriaga. Kendra will believe that Salsero has changed when he gives her that money that they earned for making the DVD of Arriaga and Vikki. Salsero spent the money. Salsero thinks that he's better than Kendra because he doesn't have blood on his hands. Kendra admits that she has no limits. Salsero reminds Kendra of her various crimes against innocent people. Kendra finally reveals that Odd-ette was the mastermind behind the plot to conquer Richguy headquarters.
Ballsvanera Mansion/Back in One of the Many Living Rooms: Odd-ette expresses her concerns that her invitation to the wedding of the century was lost in the mail. Vicky tells Odd-ette that she didn't get an invite because she isn't invited. Nicky tells Odd-ette that she is not welcomed in the Ballsvanera house. Nikki accuses Odd-ette of trying to kill Vikki. Odd-ette says that the police couldn't find any evidence connecting her to the crime. Odd-ette reveals why she hates the Ballsvaneras. Anibal got rich because he stole all of her clients and ideas. Vikki threatens to sure her for slander.
Ballsvanera Mansion/Guest Bedroom: Kendra tells Salsero that Odd-ette wants Nelson to divorce Victoria. Kendra admits that Odd-ette never knew that she stole the DVD.

Ballsvanera Mansion/Guest Bedroom: Kendra and Salsero call a truce, but he refuses to be her accomplice. She's fine with that and tells him that he will be her baby's godfather. She's already named her baby Mia. The baby is named Mia because Kendra is coveting all of Vikki's things. Oh, yeah...she's crazy.
Mall: Roy, Nicky, Vicky, Zambrano and Guzman are at the mall. Nikki sends Roy away with Vikki and Zambrano because she needs to buy shoes for her wedding dress. Roy can't see them before their wedding day. Outside of the shoe store, Guzman asks Nikki if she's really going to marry Roy. Nikki begins to cry, so Guzman comforts Nicky with a hug. Roy gets all jealous and walks back over to them. He's screams at them and demands that Nikki choose between them. Guzman asks Nikki to choose him. Nicky says that she can't choose Guzman and then runs into a nearby haberdashery and thinks of her choices. Eddie Munster or Adonis...hmmm what to do? What to do?
Arriaga Apartment: Anibal has come to visit the Oompa Loompa Candaleria. She unsuccessfully attempts to slam the door in his face. He blocks her attempts to close the door with his octogenarian brute force.
Mall: Zambrano and Vicky are strolling through the mall when they run into Arriaga who has taken my advice and finally showered. Arriaga reminds Vikki that they are standing in front of the place where Vikki bought him his only suits. Horny Vicky remembers the day of her attempted mall kidnapping. Her mind goes back to when he ran through the mall in only his underwear and she copped a feel of his naked flesh when he was shot in the shoulder with a paintball gun. Arriaga asks her out on a date. He tells her that he misses watching her body and he can't stop thinking about her. He feels guiltly.
Arriaga Apartment: Anibal and Candelaria are sitting at the kitchen counter having coffee. Boy, she resisted all of ten seconds. Candelaria thinks that Anibal wants Disney Princess Lilly to serve her relatives forever. She tells Anibal that they don't need him. Disney Princess Lilly walks in as Anibal declares his undying love her Candelaria. Disney Princess Lilly wants to know what's up. Nelson tells his grand-daughter that Candelaria is the love of his life.
Mall: Vicky asks Arriaga to return to work. Zambrano will only watch her body until he returns. He looks shocked.

I'm sorry that I can't comment throughout the day. I work as a temp and internet usage is frowned upon. This has not been edited and I'm tired, so it may not be one of my memorable recaps.

Regarding Kendra: "Oh, yeah...she's crazy." That about sums it up - crazy. Culpable but crazy. Regrettably, she is also fearless and cagey. Excellent qualities for someone of her ilk. Odette, who is rather colorless and lackluster might consider Kendra take her under her wing as a mentor.
I was also relieved JA relented and cleaned up. He was looking worse for the wear. I liked his encounter with Vicky, she was cordial but totally within appropriate bounds. It was nice to see JA's beaming smile once again. As others have said, I expect they will take things slowly.
Will Nikki actually let this farce with Roy play out until they are at the alter?
So happy to see Nelson sweating it out. May many restless, sleepless nights be in his future. If justice were to be served, he would be stuck with Kendra in a hellish union, impoverished.

Kendra gave up a valuable bit of info by basically admitting she betrayed Odette to gain her own advantage. I hope Salsero uses that info against her somehow.
How pathetic is Odette? Demanding an invitation to the wedding...really Odette? She looked like ugly duckling who wasn't invited to the cool kid party by those mean Balvanera girls. Nice to see Vicky and Nikki united as they told her off, but Odette really did get the final word.
I'm ready for this wedding! Nikki seems determined to do it-- for no real reason. I bet Odette will crash it, which will cause all kinds of issues for Estefano and JM. And I'm sure JA and Lili will be back in the Balvanera fold by then, since JA looked about ready to fall at Vicky's feet again during their coffee date. And wouldn't it be great if Nikki changed her mind right at the altar and dumped Roy right then and there (like in Un Refugio Para el Amor). Fun times. Can't wait.
But before that, it looks like we get to see JA rough up Nelson and tell him to shut his big mouth, yet again. Doesn't Nelson ever learn? I guess the booze addles his brain, making him think he can take on the Big Angel.
I'll be pretending I'm a Balvanera girl today-- no work, hit the gym, mani-pedi, massage, fancy French restaurant (and I WILL eat-- no porcelain throne for me), and a show at the Kennedy Center. Maybe I'll even throw in some shopping! More likely I'll replace shopping with getting my allergy shots, because it's a beautiful spring, pollen-filled day! Later amigos! :)

Vivi - have a wonderful birthday. A friend introduced me to the idea that once you are over 25 (nothing against those of you who are younger) you need celebrate a day for every year (30 yrs old = 30 days) because one day just isn't enough.

Carlos--Some small gold disk ended up on the bed and not in the bag. It's hard to tell if that was significant or not. Of course, Carayers will make it significant, but will the writers...or was it just that KendHo couldn't scoop up all the goodies at once. I did notice that the empty boxes went back in her duffle bag.

Cynderella, I read the recap late last night and had to stifle a bid ole laugh so as not to wake my hubby. Woke up still chuckling over your great lines. My favorite, " Eddie Munster or Adonis...what to do? What to do?" You're so right...the names fit perfectly. Haa, haa! Also the "octogenarian brute force" and Rock Hudson and Liberace reference. RIP. You are irreverant (in a good way) but so funny.
I must comment how great Jose Angel wears blue especially that dark blue shirt the other night with blue jeans I think.

I feel sad for Estefanito and Jean Marie who deeply love each other. Estefan needs to come to terms with who his mother really is and not expect someone with icewater in their veins to approve of his relationship or partner. She has no interest in her son except that he make her look good, and he has to really get that.
Ironic, isn't it, that a relationship that really deserves a huge wedding celebration has to remain in the closet, and a despicable one like Nikki has with Roy is being set up to be the social event of the century in D.F.?

Thanks for the wonderful birthday wishes everyone! I had a great day. Not only was the weather beautiful, but I managed to have a Balvanera day-- without kidnapping or murder attempts. Yay! No shopping or cucumber masks, but I did get a 1 hour massage along with the mani-pedi, and dinner and the show were wonderful.

Audrey--Ms. Kenho is supposed to be on complete bedrest, per her plastic surgeon's orders, for an apparent near fake miscarriage that happened in the Balvanera living room, just as NelFFson was going to echar her from la casa. Sadly, she's in no shape to go trapsing off to the nearest safe deposit box--besides, she'll be recorded by the security cameras, no?
