PEAM #34- The Episode Where The Children Act Like Adults and the Adults Act Like Children, Except in the Basement!
Labels: Manda
!. Does Paty's apartment have any other room besides the bedroom??
2. Exactly how does Paty make a living??? She does nothing but get on my nerves!
3. Why didn't Fern wash the smell off of his body in the shower??? Wasn't he in the shower??
4. What gift does Gilberto think that he can buy his wife and she will forgive him??? A car??? Is he kidding??
5. Avon must be doing well financially to give everyone who needs money, a monetary advance.
6. Do I really believe that those two bumbling toy cops keep the company secure and know how to manipulate technology?
I am psyched - the big kiss was, indeed, Rogue's daydream/nightmare. LOL! He sees what's between them, even if they don't.
And Discua... hmm... not a gold-digger, not a trepadora, but a recruiter for her "spiritual group." Will she try to convince Fernando to donate all his worldly goods to her church?
1. Why would Paty need anything besides a bedroom? What else does she do? I bet she doesn't even know how to boil an egg. (It actually looks like a hotel room, so maybe there really isn't anything else besides a bathroom!)
3. Maybe what everybody is smelling on Ferni is not the smell of trash, but the stink of stupidity. It doesn't wash off!
6. With all the monkey business he's doing in that place, Rogelio can't afford to have a competent security staff!
Anonymous, thanks, I have missed many an episode this month.
I haven't seen this yet but your recap makes it sound like fun. More Valentina. Yeah! Elias & Marta. Hmm.
Chatita continues to muddle through with her poor memory and then home in on the very advice that everyone needs. Yes, Elias. Think of Valentina.
Güera
-Martha! I replied, you're watching too many TN! So you might be right!
I will watch this episode on hulu as soon as it becomes available, so I can share some more thoughts.
Later!
Excellent recap. So funny. Liked the whole recap. I too wondered why they kept saying that Ferny smelled after he took his shower. Maybe he wore the same suit? I think it is as Julie said, It's the stupidity, lol.
So Discua is a spiritual teacher, Hmmm. I wonder if she will convert Ferny.
I felt bad for Cardenas, but I don't know if Jess would be into him.
I just knew that kiss would be somebody's fantasy, too funny how it was Rog's nightmare. I wonder if he will go bust into Alma's office to see what they are doing in there.
I can't believe those bumbling cops are the crack security team, lol. Although the one cop, did bring up the cameras. How come Rog doesn't even know how to do that?
My bad. I forgot to tag Pablo's most excellent recap. It is now tagged and you should be able to find Wednesday's recap. : )
Chatita really is one in a million. I have a question about Chatita. I only saw glimpses of I think it was TdA, that picture that Chatita was looking at, wasnt' that a character from that TN?
I was glad that Valentina called her therapist. The poor child needs some TLC right NOW! I'm glad this show is a comedy or I would be in angst about her. (Like our dear friend JudyB.)
I was so happy to see the person with the loopiest thought process, Chatita, thinking clearly and telling the Elias what we have been yelling at the tv-- think of Valentina!!
And good for Valentina for having the good sense to call the nice psychologist, who is just supposed to be a child psychologist, but looks like she needs to go into family practice and take Vero and her two men on as a full-time project. I hope Elias falls head over heels for the hot doc, just to stick it to Vero, who will be left like the dog with the two sandwiches (it sounds better in Spanish).
It's my b-day, and I'm off to play all day, but I'll be checking in to read comments on my phone. Ciao amigos!
Carmen Salinas had a friend (nicknamed el chato cejudo) who passed sometime last year and as a homage to their friendship, she asked her character's name changed to ''Chatita''. Being the ''first actress'' that she is nothing can be denied, and now he has been integrated into the story.
Chato (as we call people with a small nose) is a friendly way to call anybody, and Chatita, as confused as she is sometimes, has called Elías and maybe other characters chato, remember?
Vivi...Happy Birthday. You share it with a great and wise friend of mine, Ilene, as well as with my grandson.
Jack just turns 5 today but he already has a fiancée. As a highly responsible fella, he has consulted worriedly with his parents about how he is going to support her when they're married, and how they will entertain their children on weekends when they don't have school! My daughter says on the days Jack and his "intended" have playdates, he's happy and calm. And totally ornery the other days! Ah, the power of love.
Have a ball today, Vivi!
Oh well, I wanted to see what other's on here thought of the "catfight". I declared Discua De la Soledad, the winner on points. she fired off 3 consecutive open hand slaps to Jessy's jaw, after the standing eight count. (8 rapid winks)she got from Jessy's sucker punch to the head, to start things off.
Then the hair pulling, but no weave was lost.
BTW, there is nothing more disgusting than to see two women fight. Young girls today fight more than boys....youtube is loaded with girls fighting... where are the parents?

JudyB, a very happy birthday to the energetic Jack. Your story about him and his fiancée put a smile on my face.
Also, thanks to all of you who helped me out with the dicho "El remedio, el trapito, y amárrale aqui tantito". Turns out it is a VERY useful saying.
Anyhoo...wonderful recap TJ!! And Judy, that little man has been taught well. Planning for his future love. Better thinking than I've seen in way too many young couples. Bless his very big heart!!
It was hard to deal with the stupid antics of a lot of characters with the ongoing heartbreak of little Val. I'm passed "slap silly" with Vero and heading straight to "strangle with neon phone cord". Elias' obvious love of little Val was wonderful to see and the Skype convo with Jesu was so lovely. I still want her out of that rambling house with the antiseptic nurse ( nice as she may be) and spoiled brat of a mother. Would be cool to take both her dads to that school function and then we can watch Vero's brain implode.
I am seeing an Elias/Marta hoopkup happening methinks??? Man could use a loving lady in his life.
How much longer must we deal with Xochi believing Chucho is her novio? It's beyond stupid and sad, and frankly, wrong on his part to let her think that. And she's getting annoying as h***. How fitting she and Mari wind up roommates. Yikes!!
Fern-- you work for Avon. They sell mens products such as cologne, soaps....just saying. Of course, nothing washes away the smell of being no good. Could Discua's strange little church be his ultimate odor-eater. Shades of Guys and Dolls--the crook finds religion. He starts singing "Rocking the Boat" tonight I'll pass out. But wouldn't that be a hoot to see him suddenly move from the dark side. Poor Rog, his blood pressure is already off the charts.

I loved how no matter how he showered and tried, Fernando could not get the "stink" off of him. Now with his involvement with Discua's group will it turn out to be a transcendental or spiritual stink? Didn't someone once mention that he reminded them of Pepe Le Pew (?)? If so, he's surely stuck with the stink!
Chatita continues to dole out more sage advice. Maybe Elías and Marta the psychiatrist/therapist could end up together. I wonder what Susana's sad love story is.
Pablo, thanks for the info on Chatita and Chato.
Vivi, happy birthday!
Jarifa
I love the idea of Val showing up to her function with both dads. They would be more than willing, they love her completely, and they seem very happy to team up on her behalf.
Maybe I should try a TN version-- how about Jaime Camil as Nathan Detroit and Either Sebastian Rulli as Sky Masterson, or Jorge Salinas. Yeah, much better imagery now....
Oh, and Feliz Cumpleaños Vivi. Hope you have lots of sunshine to enjoy on your day out.
Daisy
Anon, I seem to remember that conversation too. I think that Pati has a wealthy father and that she has thanked God that she doesn't need to work -- but Rog also pays for the apartment, I think.
My VCR punked out last night so I didn't get to see the kiss -- should have known it would be a dream - er- nightmare sequence.
Güera
I think it was revealed at one point that Pati has burned through her entire inheritance. Alma and everyone else think she is still living on it, but really she would be destitute and living on the streets or, shudder, having to work, if not for Rogue's financial support. I think this is a contributing factor in Pati's determination to keep Rogue even though he is awful to her.
Anon#1, I was a little disappointed by the catfight. I'm not really sure why. Something about the pace or the mood of it seemed "off." I also didn't feel enough sympathy OR loathing for either character to care what the outcome was. These things are much more fun when you actually want to see someone win.
I'm definitely on board with Valentina taking both dads to the thing at school. Then her classmates will have to stop calling her a liar!
I seem to be of the mind as you on Patimelts. She and Maricela are both playing the same charade, but our Big-eyed beauty has a "Sugar Daddy" who puts a tad better roof over her head.
Daisy
Happy birthday, Vivi and Jack (whom I adore) and my awesome genius nephew Bobby.
Nanette
...Fern smells himself. - Phew. (It was Carlos that equated him to Pepe, now it's a given.) I thought it was a little raro that he would still stink after a shower and change of clothes, so they *must* be smelling the stink of stupidity!
...Marisela asks Susana if she had a love of her life that escaped. It'll be a stretch to link her with Alma's father. But this is tvlalalaland.
Elias the plumber. Good one, and good for Elias that he didn't take offense, just frustration that you can never have a straightforward conversation with Chatita. (And thank you Pablo for giving us that bit of background on Carmen Salinas & her friend.)
Anita, La Dama del Queso
Anita
I love that the kiss is Rogue's nightmare. Serves him right. We know he's stupid but I can't believe he keeps taunting Paty about his impending marriage. Talk about an anvil waiting to happen.
Julie "stupidity doesn't wash off" - excellent.
Vivi - enjoy your day and JudyB thanks for sharing the story about your grandson.
Nanette - thanks for mentioning that Flaco says the Xochi plot is cultural b/c I also find it awful.
Now to the juicy stuff:
I saw yesterday the BIG BANG episode with the Doppler effect. So funny! (as always).
I just saw yesterday's PEAM episode on Hulu and I am ready to share some notes, but first, before I forget, the blessing Chatita gave Chucho and Elías before leaving the house, in case you're interested:
(Making the sign of the cross for both of them) May the blessed and Holy cross descend from the sky to cover your body and from all evil, danger or a violent and sudden death protect you. Amén
It makes more sense in spanish ;)
It is still Nov. 5th (noon to midnight)
I saw a green bag being taken from the garbage truck that wasn't in the baddies hands when they talked to Domitila. Did they take more trash than the trash they had put in?
Vocabulary:
El burro hablando de orejas- or, as TJ put it: el comal le dijo a la olla...
Toma chango tu banana- Is what you deserve
Jackie, Jackiesiera- In english could be something like You wish, but playing with a woman's name.
I agree with Marisela. That kiss was so ''x'' (compared to others that I have seen in that same TN) insignificant or unimportant.
I had to laugh when Rogelio sent Melchor and Gaspar looking for Baltasar (the third wise man).
Discua was about to release all of her energy through one of the points of her tantric triangle yesterday while meditating, when was abruptly stopped by Rogelio who told her: YOU CAN NEVER, EVER IN YOUR LIFE MEDITATE IN THIS WORKPLACE AGAIN! and since I am a being of light and I can read minds, could almost hera Alma thinking, yeah, you can spend the whole day gossiping, running back and forth pretending you're working, drinking coffee or making errands, but MEDITATING, NEVER! That's a no-no! Definitely forbidden!!
Oh! Before I forget: This is Jesús phone number in case someone wants to call him (55)32612065
LOng distance charges may apply ;)
Wink-o-meter (Low, just 5)
I'm with Mari...that kiss was totally equis...especially if she remembers smooching with Pepe (not le Pew) in a former life.
Feliz Cumpleaños Anita!!!!!!
