Amores Verdaderos #127 Thu 5/9/13 Nikki Shares her Balls with Roy
Honeymoon Suite: The groom is still annoyed about catching his bride boinking another man, in the barn and in her wedding finery. What did he expect her to do? Honor her vows and save herself for her husband on her wedding night? She wants to explain, but Roy doesn't want to hear any of it. She wants to got out partying with him, but Roy says she smell like vomit. Besides, it will cramp his style if he brings his wife along while he's picking up girls. Roy outright abandons the poor girl on their honeymoon and tells her to order from room service. If the bell boy's smiling when Roy returns, he will have only himself to blame. He leaves Nikki in the room doing her botox cry expression. It's the one where she cries without moving any part of her face.
Victoria's Art Room: Adriana admires Victoria's drawings of Arriaga while her sister talks with Guzman on the phone. Victoria's artistic skills have improved since we saw those hideous paintings. Vicky tells Guzman that Nicky and Roy arrived safely in Miami. She tells him to take off as much time as he needs to settle things with Beatriz and Guillo. Vicky tells her sister that Bea should be realeased tonight, but they still don't know where Guillo is. They both can't understand why men use children to hurt their wives. Adrianna tells Vicky to stop living for Nikki because she chose her own destiny. She encourages Vicky to hump Arriaga. She didn't quite use those exact words, but I'm paraphasing in order to save time. Adrianna goes on to point out that Vicky has failed at both of her major relatiionships. Vicky bombed out with Carlos and her marriage to Nelson is a complete failure. Adrianna believes that if Vicky would tweek parts of her personality, she might be able to make it with Arriaga. Vicky want's to be divorced first. She'll do it even if it displeases her father.

Forlorn, bored, and soaking in a deep bubble bath, she decides to call Guzman for little phone sex. Tearfully, she begins by telling him that she misses his big deck...of cards. As she steps out of the tub to pull on a robe, she faints and hits the side of her head on the steps. Guzman, who is sitting vigil for his sister in the police station, hears her fall and repeatedly yells her name into the phone.

Victoria agrees and goes on to say that the author of the text might be the mother of his unborn child. Victoria thinks that Salsero would know who Nelson's lover is. Tomasina announces that Odd-ette and Estefano popped in for a little visit. Victoria tells Adrianna that nothing good can come from a visit from Odd-ette. Well, this Odd-ette fan heartily disagrees.
Honeymoon Suite: Guzman continues to frantically call Nikki's name. Roy returns to the room with Omar and discovers his bloody wife passed out on the bathroom floor and loosely holding her phone. Roy calls Omar into the bathroom for help and disconnects the line. Guzman freaks out. Omar calls 911 on Nikki's phone. Detective Salsero comes out and tells Guzman that the videos prove Beatriz's innocence. As soon as the paper work is complete, she can go home. Salsero does not get the response that he expects from Guzman because Guzman is still thinking of Nikki.
Ballsvanera Mansion Kitchen: Jean Marie all dressed up and ready to meet his lover and his future mother-in-law within the hour at a restaurant. He's shocked to learn, from Polita, that Estefano and Odette are visiting the mansion. Polita believes that Estefano could be there to ask Vicky for Jean Marie's hand in marriage. Jean Marie is both overjoyed and nervous.
Ballsvanera Mansion Living Room: Victoria strongly hints that Odd-ette should have called first so that Victoria could have been out of the house when Odd-ette arrived. Estefano agrees that his mother should have called first. Odd-ette tells Estefano that no one asked for his opionion. She didn't call because it's not a social visit and with a snap of her fingers, Odd-ette orders her son to give Victoria the wedding present. Jean Marie and Polita eavesdrop at the door. Victoria decides to be a gracious host and offers her guests some vittles made by Jean Marie. Odd-ette declines and insults Jean Marie by calling him a "tavern cook". She says that he is not a chef. Appalled, Jean Marie runs to the kitchen. Estefano defends Jean Marie and tells him not to insult him. Odd-ette tells Victoria that Estafano has a fiance and informs her that they are going to meet her at a restaurant. Estefano stands up and declares to his mother that he is gay. Odd-ette is shocked. Victoria doesn't even blink at the revelation.
Ballsvanera Mansion Kitchen: Jean Marie is crying. Until now, he never suspected that Odd-ette was a big bitch! She's always seemed so pleasant and cuddly to everyone. Anyways, he's extremely offended that Odd-ette referred to him as a cook and does not think of him as a chef. Tomasina says that she'll go into the sitting room and get the scoop.

She'll just drink directly from the bottle. This gives Estefano time to declare is love of Jean Marie to Victoria.
Opiumlina's Den: Arriaga's handsome face can barely be seen behind the plumes of smoke. In the haze, Opalina discovers that Bea has been proven innocent and is now free. She doesn't feel danger around Guillo. Cheech starts to giggle and tells Chong that she can hear the pretty colors on the snail shells speaking to her. Now suffering from a contact high, Arriaga shares her "visions" and insists that she continue thehalucinations readings. He tells his friend about Candaloompa's missing letter and guesses that the letter might contain the identity of Christina's father. Opalina changes the subject and gives her friend a souvenir necklace that she bought at the Snoop Dogg concert at the Burning Man Festival. I'm sorry, maybe it was from Bob Marley at Woodstock. Arriaga is supposed to wear it to keep away the bad vibes. Opalina looks into her crystal meth...ball, I meant to say crystal ball! She tells Arriaga that Kendra hates his guts and to stay away from her.
Meta Imagen/Ballsvanera Guestroom: Kendra is still pissed at Arriaga. She calls Nelson and demands that he do something about the Karate Farmer. Nelson suspects that it was Kendra who sent the text, not Arriaga. According to Salsero's investigation, a chick sent the text. Kendra continues to blame Arriaga, but Nelso hangs up. After hanging up, Kendra has a epiphany! Nelson, the father of her child...is an idiot!

Roys not buying it. Nikki offers to return to Mexico, but Roy wants to keep up appearances. Omar tries to be nice to Nikki since she is the one bankrolling the trip. Roy has her phone. Roy starts yelling at Nikki about sleeping with Guzman and calls her a slut! Moron! Sluts don't save themselves until their wedding night to have sex! Duh! Roy threatens to tell her family about her literal roll in the hay with Guzman. Nikki tells Eddie Munster that she will tell the world that he is boinking his trainer.

As usual, their boring me, but luckily Drunk Odd-ette has come to save the scene. She's come to confront Jean Marie, but Estefano won't allow her to insult his partner. He merely keeps Roy from striking Nikki. The phone rings. It's a race for Nikki's phone. Roy gets there first and tells Guzman that Nikki is fine, but he should never to call again.
Ballsvanera Kitchen: Dammit, Odd-ette left them alone again. Jean Marie tells his partner to follow his mother. Estefano refuses and declares his love for Jean Marie and Balzac. They are his family now. Jean Marie gives him strength! Blah! Blah! Blah! Suddenly, Arriaga has arrived in the kitchen hoping to scout out some munchies. He coughs loudly to alert them of his presence. Jean Marie proudly introduces Estefano to Arriaga as his boyfriend. Arriaga is pleased because he and the other bodyguards will no longer have to endure any mor of Jean Marie's "sleepwalking" episodes. He gives Jean Marie a hug.
Paulita's Condo: Beatriz is crying over her missing kid (let's hope he stays gone until he grows out of that awkward stage or at least until the last episode). She thanks everyone for their support while she was in the big house, but she can't be happy without that kid. Dectective Salsero has put out an APB on Guillo and Leo. Beatriz is afraid that Leo will sneak Guillo out of the country. Guzman doesn't think that Leo will try to cross the border because Leo's mother is with them. Paulina, Guzman and her father are trying to cheer her up. Felipe tells her that he will blanket the neighborhood with pictures of Guillo in the morning. Disney Princess Lily runs in and hugs her.
Ballsvanera Kitchen: Arriaga's still got the major munchies, unfortunately for him, Jean Marie has the night off and refuses to cook a thing. There's no food around, so Arriaga decides to kick his co-workers some knowledge that he learned during the snail summit with Opium. "Dogs bark because they have something to say, but they cannot speak...yet they have a voice". Realizing that he's been talking too much, Arriaga becomes paranoid that his co-worker may suspect something. Arriaga immediately diverts the subject to Beatriz. He explains that Detective Salsero discovered that there was a video tape that exonerates Beatriz and shows that someone put the necklace in the purse. No really? Snails told them this?
Odd-ette's Bedroom: Oh, my! Odd-ette gets meaner when she's drunk. She manhandles her maid and tells her to get out. The maid tells Odd-ette that someone delivered a package and it's on her bed. Odd-ette tells the maid to never mention Estefano's name in the the house again.
Ballsvanera Kitchen: More talk about Estefano and Jean Marie. If Jean Marie would poison food or something, maybe I could get into him. Arriaga is has moved away from the kitchen table and is sitting in the kitchen snuggling with the refrigerator. Unfortunately, Jean Marie still does not take the hint. Tomasina tells the crowd that includes Vicky that Jean Marie and Estefano are compatible. Jean Marie was shocked that Estefano defended him. Vicky thinks that Odette will accept Jean Marie eventually. Arriaga, dreams of bacon.
Ballsvenara Mansion: Zambrano is ready for his closeup. He gets to say 6 whole words in this scene. Salsero asks him if there's any news and confirms that Zambrano delivered the package. Could this be Odd-ette's package?
Ballsvanera Foyer: Vicki has cornered Salsero. She wants to know who Nelson's lover is. Salsero sites the confidentiality clause in his contract. He won't bust out Nelson. He asks Vicky not to try to make him feel guilty. Kendra is at the top of the stairs listening to the conversation.

Outside of the Arriaga Condo: Guzman walks the Disney Princess home. He tells her that he's worried about Nikki and tells Disney Princess about the call. Disney Princess tells him to give up on Nikki. He can't because he's obsessed and fiending for her.
Honeymoon Suite: Nikki tries to call a truce with Roy, but he refuses to accept any fault in this whole situation. He left her alone knowing that she's a sucker for a gorgeous smile, powerful muscles and a large deck...of cards. Roy's dated her before. He knows she's a nympho. He's just mad because he discovered them when Guzman was putting is deck...of cards back in his pants. Roy ignores Nikki's peace offering and turns on the tellie to review the game tapes. He recalls his love for the Disney Princess and cries. He hopes that one day, the Disney Princess will forgive him.

He recalls his love for the Disney Princess and cries. He hopes that one day, the Disney Princess will forgive him.
Outside of the Arriaga Condo: Guzman tries calling Nikki again. Answer Nikki! Answer!
Honeymoon Suite: Roy won't let his wife talk to her lover on their honey moon. He removes the memory chip from her phone. Nikki runs into the bedroom and throws herself down on the bed.
Church: Candeloompa (Candelaria) , the world's only female Oompa Loopa is in anquish as she confesses her sins before the priest. If she tells Adrianna the truth, she'll make Arriaga sad because he's been raising a child that is not his. The priest agrees that she should keep a lid on it for a little longer since Arriaga just lost his wife.
Ballsvanera Foyer: Anibal corners Arriaga and wants him to confirm how long Arriaga has known that Nelson is boinking Kendra. Anibal tells Arriaga not to tell Vicky. Arriaga feels bad because if he doesn't tell, he will feel as if he is betraying his friend. Anibal wants to know why Arriaga cares so much about Nelson boinking Kendra.

Cynderella: Far and away your finest recap. The episode was good, but your summary blew it away.

Thanks so much Cynderella for another hilarious recap.
In this episode we had not just one, but two people being advised to keep quiet in order to prolong the plot. I sort of understand the priest's advice about it being too soon after Cris's death to spring the news of Lili not being his kid on JA. But it will be hard to tell him this news even a year from now, so I'm of the mind to just yank the bandaid off right now and get it over with.
Anibal's advice to Ariaga to keep Vicky in the dark about Nelson's pregnant lover living under her roof, being cared for by her, and making a fool of her, is total b.s. There is no justifyable reason for it, other than protecting Anibal's interests. JA needs to reflect in where his loyalties should lie. Vicky pays his salary, not Anibal. And on top of that, he and Vicky are friends. I don't even go into the fact that they are also in love with each other. There are just SO many reasons for him to run and tell her the truth right away.
OK writers, just because you show Roy moping about his "love" for Lili for 2 seconds, does not erase the 40 mins of jerky, insulting, controlling, abusive husband you just showed. I have not a clue why Nikki doesn't just get on the next private jet and go home. She had equis reasons to stay at this point. I did love her threatening to tell the world the Roy is super, hyper, mega gay, and Omar is his lover. LOL! I thought Omar reacted to this crazy situation quite well, and I was glad he was there to keep that scene from getting any uglier.

I really think that Estefano should have told his mother privately first. He knows that his mother was expecting to meet a woman. She was going to toss him out of her life whether he told her in private or in public. But, he told her in front of her arch enemy!
I still say that Roy is acting normal. It doesn't matter that they are not in love. Nikki betrayed her husband and her "friend". She embarrassed him and insulted his manhood. Roy is not allowed to react? So, you're husband catches you in the act screwing another man and you want him to forgive and forget less than 24 hours later and take you out on a date with him? It would be abnormal if he did. If Roy took Nikki out and was treating her nicely, I would place bets that he was plotting her murder.
Anibal has lost his Balls.

Cynderella- I wouldn't begrudge Roy being pouty and sullen. But being cruel, insulting and abusive (nearly striking her) would even be too much if he really were in love with her and thought she was in love with him.
P.S. I don't think Roy belongs with Lilly either. Roy should hook up with one of Nooki's (intentional spelling) goofy friends.
I know that they are not in love. I'm saying that I would be in a rage if I went to bed and when I woke up, I went looking for my husband and found him in another bedroom with another woman. I'm not condoning the violence, but I understand his reaction. To me, it's almost crazy not to be angry and screaming in this situation. She kicked him in the balls...sorry and now she wants to go out on a date. But, he is not allowed to say...ouch.

Pobrecita, Nikki! She didn't deserve this violent idiot! Thanks to Dios Omar was there. Unlike Roy, I think Omar understands where Nikki is coming from. Remember Omar knows all of the Roller Boys hidden desires and money problems. I think Omar knew she wasn't going to go that way, about spreading the gay rumor. I too can't understand why Nikki just doesn't go to the front desk and either call Guzmancito, her Mama, or Tatito especially. She could be rid of Roy in a heartbeat, and that's what he is really afraid of. There goes the moola. As far as Roller Boy ending up with Lili? I don't think so. He is also dead to me and apparently he is dead to Lili too. Although, I think he was sincere about really loving Lili, I can't stand him right now. Too much of the low one.
YAY! I am so happy for Betty, she is finally out of la carcel. I hope Santino and Guzman find Guillo and once and for all get rid of the low one. He really needs to go.

Nikki hasn't bottomed out with this marriage to Roy yet. Most likely bulimia is not only physical, but is a mental/emotional health issue, too. Bad self-esteem, yadda yadda yadda. Nikki does not love - nor respect - herself enough to create a boundary on his treatment of her. She knows she chose to marry Roy while everyone around her was giving her a way out of it before the wedding.
Plus, she KNOWS she did wrong with Guzman on her wedding night, and probably feels this is her due punishment, or penance. Factor in that while Viewerville knows about Roy's and Lili, Nikki does not. So being a female and thus tends to be an optimist, Nikki probably keeps hoping things will get better with Roy.

Doris- It is for sure a mental/emotional health issue, and even the doc spoke about Nikki's low self esteem. Would it be bad if I said I actually agree with Anon 11:15, but also because it didn't do anything for me. I didn't find myself laughing at what I read others laughed about. I was bothered by what was written about Nikki because it was exaggerated. I have a sense of humor but todays recap didn't do it for me. Thank you Cyderella for taking your time out to do this recap for us anyways. I do appreciate it otherwise

Some of us don't need all the frills. Recappers, need not try to be too clever, let alone crude. Just tell what happened. Also, many of us don't have time to read long recaps. I think some of the recappers try too hard. Perhaps there is too much pressure on them to be witty. Also, the "care and feed of the recappers" is too time consuming for viewers...too much fawning over the recappers that gets in the way of some interesting comments. I don't like reading all that repetitive praise. Telemundo recaps are more concentrated. Let the humor come from the interaction of those who comment,not from the recappers.

Loved Nikki’s threat to Roy. You go girl! But poor Omar. He’s a nice guy, has always given Roy good counsel. I’m sure he’s wondering how the hell 'he' got caught up in this mess.
So Roy's a potential brute but still loves Lili. If Roy were more mature, he’d realize Nikki’s suggestion that they just be friends like in the old day is a good one. He'd have access to her family's money and would be free to do whatever.
So JA gets a protective amulet from Opalina. Which reminds me, whatever happened to the family rosary that Vickie gave JA?
I can understand Lili telling Guzman to forget Nikki. After all, Nikki just turned down Guzman and married someone else. But, thankfully, Lili seems to see Guzman as only a friend now.
I figured Odette would go low and insult Jean Marie’s food. But she actually insulted his food even before she knew he was Estefano's love. What's up with that? Maybe she was really trying to insult Vickie by trashing her staff?
Polita's thought that Estefano would ask Vickie for Jean Marie’s hand in marriage – too cute.
When Anibal asked JA why he cared so much about what Vickie thought, JA looked like a little kid. So cute.

Loved Nikki’s threat to Roy. You go girl! But poor Omar. He’s a nice guy, has always given Roy good counsel. I’m sure he’s wondering how the hell 'he' got caught up in this mess.
So Roy's a potential brute but still loves Lili. If Roy were more mature, he’d realize Nikki’s suggestion that they just be friends like in the old day is a good one. He'd have access to her family's money and would be free to do whatever.
So JA gets a protective amulet from Opalina. Which reminds me, whatever happened to the family rosary that Vickie gave JA?
I can understand Lili telling Guzman to forget Nikki. After all, Nikki just turned down Guzman and married someone else. But, thankfully, Lili seems to see Guzman as only a friend now.
I figured Odette would go low and insult Jean Marie’s food. But she actually insulted his food even before she knew he was Estefano's love. What's up with that? Maybe she was really trying to insult Vickie by trashing her staff?
Polita's thought that Estefano would ask Vickie for Jean Marie’s hand in marriage – too cute.
When Anibal asked JA why he cared so much about what Vickie thought, JA looked like a little kid. So cute.
Again as I stated above, I appreciate her time and effort taken to do the recap and I'm not putting her down. I was honest and kept it polite as to why I did not care for it. Maybe next time I just won't say anything period and will not comment, my mistake. Better to probably keep it to myself and my apologies if I offended anyone.

Just the Facts Man:
I beg to differ with you. Most of the commenters here want details of what happened in this TN. They just don't want one lined sentences. Are you actually watching this one? So many nuances, so many intrigues, so many plots.
A recapper takes at least 3 hours or more to do a recap. Just so you know. We do these recaps because we love the shows. There is no other place on the internet, as far as I know, that do recaps of Telenovelas with such indepth coverage. We give the commenters lots to comment on. We aren't looking for praise as you say. We are looking for what the commenters think of the characters and their motivations. That's what we look for in the comments. The praise is nice, this way you know you did a good job. I appreciate every single comment whether the commenter agreed with me or not. Caray Caray is such a nice forum, spoiler free, and where we can agree to disagree if we wish.
The length of the recap depends on the recapper. I, myself, sometimes tend to be long winded, but it's only because I don't want the commenter to feel I missed anything. As far as the humor goes, some of these epis have been depressing, Betty's beatdown and rape, Guillo being kidnapped, Nikki being kidnapped, that we feel, some of us anyway, we need to lighten it up a bit.
So I hope this explains it a bit more.

What I don't understand is that some commenters don't appreciate that the recappers are taking their own time to do all this for the viewers. If you are not happy with the recap just accept it and move on. There's always another night. It's not the end of the world. Of course, everyone has their own opinion about everything and we all have a right to speak our minds but criticism makes all recappers less willing to participate. So don't ruin it for the other viewers. If this blog bothers you find another.

Anyway, I am still and forever team Nikki/Guzmancito.
In the last couple days I expressed the fear of Roy getting violent and sure enough if Omar was not there, Nikki could have receive his blows. He's dead to me!!! And oh!!! Touche, both Annibal and FF and Roy and Nikki!!! now they are checkmates.

Don't you just love to see FF sweat? I do, and I am really hoping this avance was not a red herring on him finally being outed and not a thought of the Angel's or the FF's. It's about time the FF and Kendho were outed. It will definitely hurt Ms Vikki, but in the long run, it's about time she knew. I just want someone to tell her already.

I agree with the writers who were put off by the vulgarity...Thank you for the help in understanding the content, but it would be more enjoyable to read if you cleaned it up a bit..

I totally disagree about Roy having the right to be upset about Nikki and Guzman. He is a user with zero morals and only married her for her money, and we all know that he was seeing Lili and flirting (and maybe doing more than that) with other women, so what right does he have to be upset when he is worse than Nikki? He is a monster, and I have no doubt he would have hit her if not for Omar, he can go straight to heck! He gets not one ounce of sympathy from me.

I want to thank all the recappers for all the TNs that are done. I'm watching AV and trying also QBA but don't have enough time for both. I do watch AV because it is further along but do read both recaps. I really appreciate all the time and effort you recappers give us. I also hope the new one that starts on Monday will be recapped.

Bluejean- We will be recapping Corazon Indomable. Check out the sidebar. We have quite a few newbies recapping. It's too hard to comment on my phone but I will say I love that we can have a civil debate on this blog with no name calling. That's rare these days!
As a recapped I know we all have totally different styles and I love that. It's not because some of us are trying too hard to be clever, it is just each person's natural voice emerging. And even on basic summaries like on the Telemundo feed you can see this. I take the time to thank the recappers for Telemundo and Uni because it does take time and they are doing it for free. Not doing so just feels rude to me. That's also why I take the time to even give thanks, praise, and comment on tns I'm not watching. Maybe I'm too polite. LOL! Giving thanks and praise only takes a few moments, but the effects can last a whole day or longer.

Roy did not take Nikki to be his "wife" - she is his (and his family's) meal ticket. He has no "rights".
Jose Angel would want to protect his "amiga" (Vikki) because that's what friends do.

Recappers are witty, helpful, incisive, and generous with their time. They also need to be a little thicker-skinned. When someone doesn't agree with your comments/style/language, just accept it and move on. It's no fun to be criticized, but come on, it's just someone's opinion. 99.9 percent of commenters agree with you, so let the 0.1 percent that are left state their opinion without throwing an anvil down at them. One of the best things about this blog is that EVERYONE's opinion is (supposedly) appreciated.
Cynderella's recap was funny in parts, very informative and, yes, a tad vulgar. But someone saying they don't like the vulgarity (or innuendo) is no reason to turn this into a day-long discussion.
But look at me, I'm keeping it going! Everyone take a deep breath and on to the next episode/recap. :-)

Thanks, Cynderella! I really enjoyed it, especially the numerous references to the source of Opalina's inspirations.
Royero is dead to me. He absolutely would have hit Nikki and possibly worse if Omar hadn't been there. I worry about what will happen to her while Omar is away. She needs to get out of that hotel suite, even if it's just to another room of her own where she can lock the door, but more preferably straight back to the D.F. and a divorce/annulment lawyer's office. Maybe Roy is justified in being angry, but abusive comments and physical violence are never justified. He could be angry without attacking. I also think Nikki should be wondering why HE isn't looking to end the marriage after what happened, if he is so upset about it. Staying married to someone you don't love and now don't seem likely to form even a functional relationship with is NOT normal. So she should ask herself why he is trying to keep her with him.
Personally, I love the various recapper voices and the humor that is included. That's what makes this so much fun. I'm sure anyone who wants just a dry statement of the facts can find someone willing to write that for them if they offer enough money. Most of us see recapping and participation here as an opportunity for imagination and creativity. It is telenovelas we are discussing, after all, not something life-or-death serious.

Glad I missed most of the controversy. Cynderella--I enjoyed the recap immensely. Tried to find the worst possible that would curl one's ears, but I just found hilarity round every bend (I typed bed first--hmmm Freudian slip?).
Why thank you miss Anita. I will still try to tone it down next time (just a little bit). Not everyone has our sense of humor. LOL.
