Qué Bonito Amor #32 (Mex 47.2-48) Tuesday 5/28/13 Que Que What? Is That the Ghost of Rigoberto Past?
Labels: QBA
Yes, I am up late amiga! Thanks for your great, marvelous parte uno.
I really thought that JAntos would be caught, but it was only his buddy the truck driver. He sure looked panicked but I liked Mil Amores saying oh, you must mean JAntos right, right? Too funny. It was great to see this actor though, but sad.
I swear Rueben is reminding more and more of Lastra. I know this TN isn't Refugio but there are some comparisons. Does Rueben or his buddy own this club? I'm beginning to think since Rueben has these dollars he is somehow involved with the Godfather or OJ.
Poor Irasema. I have to say I really like her and the pain and agony she is going through is so very sad. Susanito's too. I hope they find some way to work it out. He really needs to get away from his crazy Mama. She needs to do something else with her time, the Mama that is.
Can't wait for your parte dos.
No, I can't recall any hints prior to this that Ruben owns this place.
See you all later.
Thank you for the first part of this recap. I shouldn't stay up so late and comment : )
Oh, Urban, I just hope this doesn't bode ill for our poor Maria or Paloma. You are right, Maria is very virginal and naïve. I am hoping that the story line doesn't go that way. The poor girl has enough to deal with on a daily basis. I'd like to see her and JAntos be happy for at least a week or two before more stuff hits the fan.
We already have a prostitute in the story who does this out of desperation. Nobody like Maria should be driven to this and if Santos doesn't expose Ruben completely would it not be interesting if Irasema could?
So Ruben has shady businesses on the side, and it involves strippers and wads of cash. Hmmm...
I don't think Maria would be in danger of being dragged into that life since she has like 12 big brothers (Jantos and the rest of the mariachis) looking out for her. Like Camila in AB and all the ranch guys looking out for her.
Thanks for your parte uno. Wanna bet Mamacita put stay away from my boy herbs in Susanito's little charm, lol. I am glad he is standing up to her.
Oh, that Rueben is really bad. Get rid of JAntos? I'd like to see him try. I think Fabian is right there.
I wonder how much time Bruno has left? I really don't think he will marry Wendy. I have to give him kudos here for standing firm, no matter what OJ says. Where is the other dude? Have we seen him lately? At least Michael is in prison. Not a safe place but well away from OJ and the Godfather, hopefully.
I hope at some point Amalia finds out what Concho did as far as not giving her the profits that belong to her from that bar. The poor woman is stressing out wondering how she is going to pay back skanky Rueben.
If this weeks shows were shown at Christmas time in Mexico we have a hell of along way to go and the plot lines at this point are too thin to carry us that far without as much filler as we got last night. If Uni must cut chop any scene with the dizty cop and her concert tickets, the furniture moving and dsancing mariachis and the fairly tale could have been considerably reduced.
I've been thinking we are going to be hit with one of those awful TNC's (Telenovela clishe's) - the accident and resulting amnesia and the victim will be JAntos. They made a big point last night of Isa wanting a popi and being very upset that JA was going to leave and go back to LA and it would be like with Pedro she'd never see him again. If he gets in an accident and disappears for a while her worst fears will be realized.
Amelia is once again waffling about JAntos. I can't understand why she seems so much more respectful of Reuben when she has to know his objective is to get to Maria. I'm also wondering if she will make it through to the end. How else can JAntos end up as Isa's popi.
Who knew that Blubbering Bruno would still have enough of a conscience not to want to marry Whiney Wendy to get his hand on Garza money. This novela has been surprisingly body free and I can't help but think sooner or later Bruno will be sleeping with the fishes.
It looked to me that maybe Mancia is ready to let her little boy grow up and he does seem to be standing up to her. I don't think she put stay away herbs in the love bundle since she probably hopes he will find a nice pure girl she can dominate. Had she knows he interest had been in Irasema then for sure it would hasve been go away and drop dead.
Now Gloria and Rod are off to the hospital to visit Isa. Any takers that Oscar will show up for the same purpose and put together the fact that Rod is his son.
I'm waiting for that slapfest between Sweet Maria and SlutE and I just hope that Maria will realize who the instigator of the co-ed shower is and not go into one of her blame the victim, we're through tantrums.
If Oscar shows up when Gloria and son are in the hospital I don't think he will say anything at the time just add two and two and only if someone mentions that Rod is Gloria's son. He met Rod with Paloma ans may be dense enough to think that he is only there because of her and not make the Gloria connection. And you are right only Maria knows Gloria's story.
You mentioned yesterday that Roberto Palezuelos may be coming into his own as a villian with those cold eyes of his. I agree but he need to lose the pouty mouth mouth thing he does and just use his eyes. Marcelo Buquet as Rueben certainly doesn't come across as a really bad villian but he was horrible in Corzon Apasionat. That one was incredibly violent for an afternoon show and in it he raped his stepdaughter, had a major thing for another one of them, slept with his niece and for good measure comitted a handful of murders.
Thanks for your marvelous parte dos.
I wish JAntos would just return to El Lay but we just know that won't be good.
I can understand Mil Amores being frustrated with JAntos but let the poor guy make up his own plans. Riggo is a good guy and can find some way to get him into the EEUU. That would be better instead of the water route or the death train.
I have reached my limit with the skanky Elvira, please! She'll be a noose around JAntos' neck for how much longer???? The next thing I'm expecting from her is being preggers, just a thought, not a spoiler. Won't Concho and Lourdes have a cow? I hope Maria slaps her but good.
I wonder who Dr. Mike is threatening with a scalpel? Maybe one of OJ's henchies?
I wonder how Irasema got hooked up with the prostitution life. Perhaps she got a job at JNTR and was lured away by Ruben, forced to work in the strip club and ultimately to prostitute?
Ruben did mention LA and I too think he has something to do with the Godfather. Some kind of way OJ has to come to Mexico & cause problems for JANtos...right now he's too far away.
Derecho made a right hand turn at Justo's revelations, and Curtis continues to act a fool.
So far for the past two days with what I did see I got a few much appreciated giggles out of:
Urban:
"A few besos we almost feel with what must be a lot of horizontal intent. [Por favor, Santos; not in your suegra's apartment.] " My thoughts exactly! Ay!
Rubén opens the briefcase and grins at the sight of mucho dinero, which he inhales as your recapper would inhale Shalimar. What a despcriptive phrase--you hit a home with that one!
==========
Anita:
"but then he *is* still wearing his traje de charro." That charro suit should be pretty frayed by now!
As for Marcelo, I saw him as Fernando Carrillo's side kick in Maria Isabel before I saw him in Corazon Apasionado (which I bailed on half-way through--it was worse than El Tal with no comedic relief). He was a bland, but decent guy in MI. I was revolted by him in CA. Here is is playing a smooth operator very well; a self-made business (although shady) man, fancy house, kept wife, children, chauffeured car--everything someone would want to pass himself off as a few rungs higher in the social order. We don't know what he had to do to get to that position, but it probably doesn't matter. I agree, he's good in this role.
UA and others--I'm very suspicious of the "merchandise" Ruben is trading for cash, too. With the depths to which Mexico is embroiled in drug traffic, that makes it the legitimate choice.
I've seen some documentaries and at least one novela (Montecristo) dealing with el robo de ninos. We know it's real and it happens. Paloma would be the right age 12-15 or thereabouts. Ruben didn't seem interested in her, but it's hard to tell, maybe he wanted to get close to Maria and gain her trust before doing something really despicable. On the other hand, he may not need to get his hands dirty. He lets folks like Leo the Low's henchmen pick out the girls.
Anon207--Irasema (although Kat is right, she looked older in the flashback) was probably too young at the time her mother died to have finished school or have been prepared for other jobs. The problem also might have been that she had to take care of the little brothers during the day, so nighttime works was all that was available to her. But still--that's no reason for her to think prostitution was going to be their salvation, unless there was a pimp involved to lure her.
If she ever worked in Ruben's strip club, she probably would have stayed there or gotten set up as a call girl, or even waitress--good help is hard to find. Street walkers are at the bottom of the "escort" ladder.
Arnold is definitely MIA. Justo and Derecho only talked about Bruno and el abogado, ese.
Decie Girl--Since this is a Mejia production, anything is possible and sometimes the corniest are the ones most often used. In that vein, I vote for either a trailer accident and JAntos suffers a coma and/or amnesia or he gets caught by the border patrol and taken to a special place to be "questioned" about associates, or simply taken right to a detention camp to be deported and neither Derecho nor Justo are notified.
I'm so done with Elvira, too. It must be the idea of a conquest that keeps her coming back--or to sic it to Maria, she certainly gets plenty of action from Coloso. Yep, pregnancy would be a fly in the ointment (sorry, bad metaphor).
Too bad you bailed on CA. I got involved in the middle and kept going back. Were you still watching when Marcelo's character got mauled by a Bengal tiger in the middle of a Mexican jungle. Hilariously funny and he survived! I think someone smothered him but he had more lives than a cat so who knows. LOL
I hope when Santos finds Vampira in the shower tonight he yells at her. Since Maria is nearby that would be the necessary thing to do to let her know he didn't invite this ho.
He should also forget he's a gentleman for long enough to call her that.
That would be one for the books.
Palazuelos' villain in Nina Amada Mia entered a bad deal with his future suegro, marrying the youngest daughter by force to get his finances taken care of. He raped the bride on their honeymoon and tried to kill the guy who truly loved her. He then had an affair with his step-suegra and both tried to commit business fraud. He got his just desserts in the end.
Coldest eyes ever.
Just a thought on the meeting at the strip club. Maybe Ruben doesn’t own it, but they rent out meeting rooms? Okay, I’m kidding about that, but somehow him owning a club when he spends so much time at someone else’s bar just doesn’t make sense to me. I also think he is too class conscious to be directly involved in anything that slimy and he is too much of a high roller to be involved in anything that small scale. I think he is money laundering (so now it smells fresh and clean?) or involved in drug trafficking. He’s been repeatedly referred to as ‘influential’. I think he’s in cahoots with the mafia or narco lords.
Jardinera, that charro suit would be pretty frayed and also pretty ripe by now. He might look good, but don’t get close enough to get a whiff.
I can’t wait for the slapfest this evening. Is it too much to hope for an end to the Elvira wash, rinse, repeat cycle to get put to rest with Maria and Santos both telling her they see right through her and nothing she can do will break them up? Unfortunately, I think I know the answer to that.
Sooner or later, Oscar, Gloria and Rod are going to bump into each other. I can almost hear the blood calling already.
Many thanks to the double team of UA and Anita for another fine recap!
IMHO:
"Riggo says forcefully, that if Santos wants to be happy, he can’t keep postponing his return to El Lay." True dat and I am tired of the will I or won't I crap. He's finally gotten his ride back and it is FREE!! No excuses or I will lose all respect for JAntos!! Besides, it's time we moved to the next etapa!
"Juaréver" indeed on any scene involving Curtis. They actually had me hoping she was gone when Derecho showed up to talk to Justo alone.
Count me in as missing any connection between Ruben and the strip club as well. From the way the ladies greeted him, I just thought he was a regular. But then, if he's the boss, why not have a VIP booth instead of just a table? It could be a combination of money laundering and drugs...either he's dealing or someone else is and the club is how the money is laundered.
