Meanwhile, in the bar , Milamores is met by some groupies who
think he is mighty fine. One groupie in
particular we can see by her wedding band she is married. Her friend tries to talk some sense into
her. Milamores just tells her that if
she ever finds that her husband doesn't give her the love she deserves, just
look him up – and then her husband will realize the true treasure he has and
shouldn't take for granted.
Casa Mendoza
Amalia is waiting up for Maria. She's noticed Maria has stayed at the bar
later than usual. Maria confesses she wasn't at the bar – she was out with
Jorge Alfredo. She starts to explain but
Amalia tells her there's no need to explain herself, she has the right to do as
she likes. She's young and innocent, and
that innocence can cause you to make choices you'll regret the rest of your
life. (yeah, bring on the guilt,
mom) Maria doesn't feel she's done
anything she'll regret later. Amalia
understands how she feels but wisely says life has a way of making those
mistakes come back and bite you. Maria
insists she did nothing wrong and Amalia says she's not accusing her. She's just worried about Maria's future. At her young age, she will think love is of
the utmost importance but then she'll realize that it isn't enough to keep a
couple together. (what a Bitter
Betty) She asks that before Maria gives
herself body and soul to that muchacho, she should remember love isn't all
happiness, it also brings suffering.
Maria's grateful for the advice but she truly dreams of a future with
Jorge Alfredo and she will do it in a responsible manner and in a way that will
avoid any shame for either of them (Maria & mom). Bitter Betty Amalia is happy to hear this
because that respect is what Maria deserves.
And now, Amalia has some news for her daughter. La Virgencita has answered her prayers, and
she has recovered her sight!!!! They
embrace and thank God for their blessings.
Ruh-roh, now she tells Maria she saw her dead hubby. Maria clearly thinks she's gone bonkers. Amalia tells her she asked him for his
forgiveness in thinking he had been unfaithful.
She explains it was as though in a dream, or maybe it was in her heart
but she knows he's forgiven her. True
love will travel anywhere in order to find it's other half. Maria's novio, Jorge Alfredo, is the one who
found out the truth. Maria's shocked –
he hasn't mentioned it. Amalia can see
he's very discreet and announces she will no longer fight w/Maria over him. She will now give him the benefit of the
doubt. (I dunno – these wild mood swings
make Amalia seem a bit bi-polar IMHO)
Lety is picking a fight w/Selena and finally admits that she
professed her love to Milamores and he had the nerve to tell her he was in love
with someone else. She swears she will despise
him and treat him in the same manner that he did with her.
Maria thinks back on her kisses w/Jorge Alfredo as he also
thinks of her and thinks of how much he loves her.
Boy Named Sue comes home late only to find the house has been
booby-trapped by his momma. She wrenches
his ear and demands to know where he's been, and he drunkenly replies, “El
Paraiso!!” over and over again. Mums is
disgusted. He tells her to go back to
sleep.
At the bar, Mustachioed Mariachi Soñador meets up with Lourdes who is crying a river of
tears. She confesses her marriage is in
trouble.
El Colosso's apt –
Oscar is complaining about Lourdes to Elvira, saying she's so cold the sun
couldn't warm her up, she's like the Chinese dragon or an exotic wrestler! He realizes she's pithed at him. Elvira tells him he only has himself to blame
because her mother figured everything out the night she, Elvira, slept
over. Oscar thinks Elvira was stupid to
have been caught when her father's been pulling one over on Lourdes for years. Elvira tells him Lourdes thinks she spent the
night w/Jorge Alfredo. She asks if
anything came of what she did. Oscar
tells her nothing came of it and it would be best if she just forgot about
Vargas – he belongs to Maria. Oscar
starts to put the move on her but she says she's tiring of him and needs fresh
meat (ugh). Besides, the man hasn't been
born yet that can walk out on her. She plans to cut the ears and tail off that
brave toro, understood? Good night,
torito.
She half leaves, half thrown out of Oscar's house,
complaining about Maria, saying, “We'll see who comes out ahead!”
Hernandez Household
Concho is trying to sneak in but Lourdes catches him. They need to have a serious chat. He complains he's tired and she wonders if
loving Mirna is so tiring for him. He
feigns ignorance but she won't let him get away with it. He tries to swear there's nothing going
on. Nope, she's not buying it. She
refuses to argue about it. She's reached
her limit! She shoves him aside.
Los Angeles, the next
morning
Bruno and OJGiuliano are arguing. Bruno can't believe the Orange One would dare
ask him to check into Santos' whereabouts.
Wendy and her family have already said they don't know where he is. Bruno explains Justo and Altragracia don't
even want to see him and he really feels like a coward. Giuliano tells him he must continue to play
the part of just another of Santos' victims.
Bruno seems to be remorseful of having betrayed Santos. He remembers the scared look on his face when
they were trapped. It seems to follow
him wherever he goes. Giuliano tells him
in Spanish, and in Italiano that what's done, is done – capiche? His life must move forward. Besides, he needs to come through for Wendy. That poor girl has been waiting for him a
long time. He urges him to marry her and
then he'll be able to find out where Santos is.
Once he's in their hands, they can extort the money from the in-laws, el
“cash” Capiche?
B&B Internet Bar
Milamores and Santos are sitting at a PC. Santos is still lamenting over Bruno's
betrayal and figures Michael will be testifying soon. He checks his e-mail and finds a video from
his parents. His mom understands why he
may not have wanted to communicate with them, especially after talking with
Dad. Dad was very confused by all the
evidence against him. Justo chimes in
and tells him Mom set him straight by reminding him of all the love Santos has
given them over the years. Mom doesn't
think it's a good idea for him to return just yet. Dad tells him about the attempt on Michael's
life in prison. Mom begs him not to
return. Milamores tells him this should
show him not all is lost. His parents
still believe in him and besides now he can enjoy more time with Maria. Santos worries that if Michael testifies in
his favor then Michael will be convicted.
He should save himself.
Prison
Nurse is finishing up with Michael. His attorney comes to see him and urges him
to testify against Santos but Michael refuses to be a traitor.

Bruno speaks urgently w/Wendy. He wants to make it up to her and move on
with their lives. He's worried she'll
reject him but asks her to marry him anyway.
After Santos' “betrayal”, the only true thing he has in his life is her
love. They kiss and I guess that means
she'll marry him.
Gloria, in tears, reviews a medical book. She calls to make an appointment with a
support group. She explains she has a
tumor and will soon have a mastectomy.
Meanwhile, Rodrigo meets up with the other Futbol
enthusiasts. He agrees to join their
team.
Casa Mendoza –
Amalia is off on a mysterious errand as Maria stays behind working on her
studies.
In class, Paloma
finds a white rose with a note. She looks
up to see Rodrigo sheepishly standing next to the chalkboard where he's drawn a
heart with R & P inside. Mean Girls
snatch the rose and note from her and trample her rose. Maritza, head Mean Girl, threatens to read
her note aloud but Rodrigo comes to her rescue and says her name isn't
Dulcerita, it's Paloma! Smooshy, batting
of the eyes ensues......
Santos speaks of his family to Fernando.
Curtis and Derecho have breakfast. Curtis goes on with her usual nonsense while
Derecho complains about his inability to catch Santos. Curtis swears to help him capture the bad
guy........
Santos tells Fernando his family is everything to him. He doesn't know what he'd be without
them. Fernando agrees and then speaks of
his own family and his hardworking tio.
He promises to introduce Santos to his tio.
End of Part I
==================================================
Part Deux:
El Mariachi named Sue breaks his piggy bank, momma freaks out
and he takes the preemptive step of giving her the pastilla (pill) before she
asks for it. She faints after he leaves
Milamores takes Santos around town and introduces him to
various friends and vendors and eventually his tio Cosme who, it turns out,
owns his own taco stand. I bet the lady
sitting behind him is the real owner. He
introduces Santos as Jorge Alfredo – and he makes him some tacos to order as my
mouth waters. Let’s get back to the
story, no?
El Lay
at a swanky restaurant, Wendy and her folks are dining over a
glass of whine. Whining Wendy, well, whines that people are looking at
her. Justo tells her she should get used
to it since she betrayed her brother.
Wendy insists her parents are the only ones who believe in Santos' innocence. Justo doesn't think so and he's not about to
abandon Santos as she did. Family is the
most valuable thing one can have in life.
Wendy agrees and that's why she's always wanted a family of her
own. She announces she's decided to
marry Bruno. Whaaaaaat!!??
El Mariachi named Su arrives at Irasema's with a humongous
flower arrangement and invites her to breakfast. Irasema is already dolled up and looks as
though she's ready for her next trick but does put on the little girl act and
is shy. ZZZZZzzzzzz
El Bar
Concho is busy in his counting house counting out his money
when Amalia comes a-knocking at his door.
“Eres un desgraciado!” and wackala! She slaps him across the face!
Casa Mendoza
Oscar comes to see Maria and takes her to task for bringing
Gloria over. He sees that as her
strategy to rid herself of him. He pulls
a “Billy Jean” and says that child is not his son. She suggests a DNA test but of course has to
explain what that is. He doesn't think
he needs that. He has no doubt and the
only thing he knows is that he loves her with all his heart. He pounces and plants one right on the kisser
as she struggles against him and as our galán Jorge Alfredo walks in. He gets there just in time to see her push
him away and tries to slap him. Drama,
and pause for commercial. ----- Jorge demands to know what he's doing here
and tells him to stop bothering her.
Oscar responds as we would think he would, saying they were just having
a good time and it was just a little kiss after all. Jorge grabs him by the lapel and scoots him
outta there.
El Bar
Concho assumes the slap will be followed by a kiss. This earns him another slap from Amalia,
“Canalla! (swine) For years you made me
think my Pedro was unfaithful. Don’t
even try to argue the point! Pedro gave
you his friendship and you repaid him with betrayal. Why, Concho, why?” Concho expresses his love for her and this
earns him yet another slap! “You had no
right to tarnish the image of my husband!”
“And you had no right to reject me!”
“I chose Pedro because heart rules when it comes to el amor.” Concho continues
to declare his love for her, saying he's lurrrved her since the day he met
her. “No! Jamas!” is the response from his lady love as
she pushes him away. “I never would have
loved a tipo like you – a bad person, selfish, womanizer, liar, and a bad
friend! Back then, I fell in love with Pedro
and if he were to be born again, I would love him again! Because you, you aren't worth it!” He tries to stop her from leaving, saying he
did it all for love. She doesn't think
so. He did it out of resentment
(rencor). He never forgave Pedro for
winning her love. Concho admits it hurt
him profundamente and it's true – he was never able to forgive Pedro. Amalia: “And you ! You said you loved him as a brother. I never want to see you again. And you'd better not take this out on my
daughter, because then you'll see the wild side (fiera) that no one has ever
seen in me!” Concho tells her he would
never hurt Maria – he thinks of her as his own daughter. Ruh-roh!
Lourdes chooses this moment to waltz in. “Luckily she's not your
daughter. That's all I needed.”
Casa Mendoza –
Oscar and Jorge take the fight outside, down the stairs (at least they both had
their pants on – remember Sortilego? Jajaja)
El Lay
Altagracia can't believe Wendy is going to marry the man who
betrayed her brother! She's definitely
not in agreement. They've suffered
enough without Wendy adding to their suffering.
Mom leaves the table and Wendy turns to her father, whining she has a
right to be happy. Justo earns his name
and tells her no one is denying her right to happiness, only not at the side of
a man who may be a traitor, who will separate her from her family. What's a Whining Wendy to do? She tells him then and there. If she has to make a choice, she chooses Buff
Bruno. She doesn't intend on losing the
love of her life.
El Bar
Lourdes reminds Amalia she had once sworn never to return to
this bar and expects this to be the last time she'll see her there. “Because next time I'll forget that I am a
cultured lady and may even resort to some hair pulling (desgreñarte)” Amalia assures her that won't be
necessary. The last issue binding her to
this place has been resolved. She
leaves, head held high.
Casa Mendoza
The fight continues and Mariachi Ponytail joins in only to
get punched out by both men. That's it,
Ponytail gets up and knocks out Jorge and gets Oscar in a half-nelson. He enlists the help of neighbors to hold
Jorge as Maria screams that she will not condone violence. Jorge protests that Oscar was kissing her. “And it was only a kiss! So what?” She assures him the next time he gets into a
brawl, he can forget about her (yeah, until the next time he climbs that ivy
covered ladder conveniently placed next to her window). She orders him back to her apartment while
Oscar gloats she's making it easy for him.
His specialty is “enchilar pochitos!” (firing up pochos – loses a bit in
translation, I know). Jorge reluctantly
heads up the stairs while Oscar calls him henpecked/coward (mandilón). Jorge starts back down but Maria reminds him
of her warning.
El Lay
Bruno wonders if their timing is right. Whining Wendy figures the timing doesn't
matter, her parents are steadfastly in support of her brother. Bruno worries that her mother is really mad
at him now. Wendy explains her parents
are bugged with anyone who speaks against Santos, including herself. Mom is angry that he didn't support Santos at
the hearing. But the only thing that matters
to her is that she and Bruno remain together.
He relents and they head out.
El Bar.
Concho tells Lourdes she had no reason to treat Amalita in
that manner. “Amalita! Amalita! Don't you dare or I'll take it out
on the other one and I'm sure you wouldn't enjoy kissing her with a busted
lip!!” Concho doesn't want to fight and
wonders if she needs some money. Of
course, but she wonders if that german Alfonso Jaimer is making him forget
everything. She warned him she would
come by daily to watch out for her own interests, and look what she found on
the first day. She warns him, Mirna may
be his lover, but she, Lourdes, is his wife.
And the mother of his daughter.
“I'm the queen and she's the jester!
You are the most shameless person (descarado). But I'm going to make Mirna's life miserable
so she'll learn to respect. As for
Vargas, I'm going to fire him for daring to set eyes on my daughter. My princess.”
La Princessa
She's home gossiping with her friends, saying she's dying to
see Jorge Alfredo again but with her mother's constant vigilence, well... Pamela accuses her of falling for Jorge but
Elvira insists no man will reject her.
Dany suggest she should go visit him at his apartment. Elvira thinks Dany isn't shrewd and figures
that's why men won't go near her. She
tells her friends not to bother with their suggestions. She comes up with the idea of hiring a
serenata. She feels she will soon see
her Jorge.
More shenanigans at
Casa Mendoza
Maria makes it clear she wants nothing more from Oscar, then
heads upstairs. At the top of the
stairs, Jorge is armed with a pail of water which he dumps on Oscar.
