Are we to wonder if Roy the Boy will become Lili's little gardener helper? That would be weird.

Old douchebag Anyball is something else. He thinks he'll buy the Little Ape for Lili? See, I wondered if there was an anvil for Nikki and Guzmancito. Who knows if Anyball's plot will bear fruit, but he's gonna try.

The avances make it look like Big Angel and Vicki will be caught in the act by Lili. Could there be a worse way for her to find out? I think not! Uh on!

Elvira, your second half of the recap was awesome. The pictures were divine. What a treat.

And now..."Tomi tells Adriana not to hold back because of Joan's past or his ascots or his pugnacious underbite." I'm doing an imaginary bow NovelaMaven... This deserved to be repeated, reread and savored often.

The show is fantastic but the recaps consistently trump the episodes: "
"[*So a Bastard Balvanera once removed trumps a Legitimate Guzmán. But a Legitimate Balvanera is still a princess and wins just by showing up. ok?]" and "It's like a clubhouse, right? For people whose lives have been blighted by Aníbal Balvanera?] are proof positive." Incredible.

Nelson's tears should surely elevate him to human being status, but they leave me cold, remaining steadfast in my resolution to reserve all of my pity for Mia.

There must be some sort of litmus test for redemption. Some degree of trying to rectify harm caused, atonement for evil committed, a resolution to change and to seek forgiveness. I see no redemption for Anibal. He is still manipulating his family, their lives and throwing bad money after bad, making Adriana's life hell. Carlos, you've hinted that Odette and Anibal may be a good couple. Odette is too good for him! He deserved being ousted from the company, thrown out in the street and shunned by his family.

On a lighter note, so glad Paula and Francisco are reconciled, that baby Mia has an excellent surgeon, that Cande has given her blessing to JA and Vicky and that the Ikkis are behind baby Mia as well.

There's been talk that Vincente, Adri's true love will surface. Time is running out - let's hope he appears before the last episode.

Elvira, it does look like Lili walks in on JA and Vicky. And no, I can't think of a worse way for her to find out. Ack.

Thanks, NOvelamaven. What a depressing episode. KendrHo has sunk to new depths. I can't even imagine what terrible anvil is in store for her. The last straw for me was her heartless lack of love and concern for poor Mia. I hope that the surgeon can save her. My first baby was born with the same problem. He had only 3 chambers in his heart instead of 4. He lived only about 26 hours. Perhaps, surgery has advanced and there is hope for babies born with this problem today. At any rate, I shudder at what is in store for K.

What type roles has Lisardo done in past telenovelas? He seems to have a flair for comedy … as in the Hugh Grant type roles (lovable, good-looking harmless jerk)

Kendra is beyond evil. She is criminally insane.

Anibal's anvil to his head can not come fast enough for me. What a jerk.

What set off Adri? Did I miss a scene while watching last night? Did they cut her reading a P.I. report?
Well, Anibal is right about Adri being a victim of a con artist --- good ole Anibal, himself.

Kendra pray? roflol! As IF! I hope she dies (AND SOON!) because she is not fit to raise her child!!! Anvil City!!!!!
(Um, right,,, complete lack of christian compassion shown here .... ack.)

Elvira - when I saw that Help Wanted sign and now Roy is homeless (is he sleeping in his car?), I figured he'll find work there. And probably love getting his hands in the soil. And maybe they'll buy a farm and grow ... habanera peppers. And Lili will wear short shorts and lace doilies. Oh, wait, wrong telenovela ....

Yeah, Kendho needs that anvil. I am so sick of her using poor Mia to get what she wants. I too hope Mia survives, but I hope there is a nanny or a nurse to take care of her. I can't see Kendho doing that. Look what she has done already! The innocent are not safe in the hands of the Ho.

I am not buying the FF's crocodile tears either. I believe he really does care about Mia and Nikki, but the rest he wants to use just like Kendho. They are a perfect match.

Anyballs is beyond redemption I agree. I don't know how he can live with himself! To torture his daughter Adri all these years. Even though I believe he really didn't know where Adri's Lucia ended up, he could so easily have found out. There is an old saying, you get more with honey than with vinegar, so I think maybe if he had fessed up long ago, like say when Adri was of age, she may have forgiven him, but now I reflect maybe not so much. As far as Guzmancito goes, Anyballs thinks everyone around him is just stooped! He thinks he is the brain of everything. Fat chance. I want to see him steamroll Guzmi and see how far he gets!

I don't like this turn for Lili. She knows better, but will continue to pine for Guzmi. I don't want Anyballs to buffalo her. I want the real Lili to please stand up, like her Mama Adri. Lili is still too gullible. She needs to snap out of it and find a new guy. If she thinks Nikki is just going to give up on Guzmancito she better stand by to stand by, jus' sayin'.

Cande still doesn't look like she is buying what the Anyballs is selling. I liked her eye roll, lol. Hopefully she never buys what he is trying to sell, as in CYA.

I don't think it is Lili who will be walking in on Ms Vikki and the Angel. The house looks familiar and I really think it is Angel's home away from home where they are. I am really liking Ms Vikki's compassion, even though she can't stand the Kendho, she is willing to help Mia. She has a great heart.

Best scene of the night, FF telling Puchis to his face, he was taking care of the Kendho once she got out of the hospital. I was laughing when poor Santino was saying Puchis over and over. But the best part, was him telling the Kendho off. And he calling her Marcaria Chavez! I wonder if we will ever see her backstory.


 

doris, the first time I saw Lisardo was in CS (with EY). He was evil and did it well. He has been the villain in other things and think he is better suited to those roles. I just don't sense any warmth or much humor here, but I'm sure it's the role rather than the actor.

I like the idea of Roy and Lili working together! Glad he shed those odious parents and is trying to strike out on his own.

The thing with Adri and Anyballs threw me for a loop too. They didn't show Adri getting a new P.I., but she must have done it on the sly. I wish they had shown this new guy she hired. I am liking it though, that she went ahead and got another one that was honest. Hopefully this new one can't be bought off like the last horrid guy!

Well heck, I was planning to mount a bit of a defense for Aníbal one day this week but gee whiz, he even had me hating on him a bit last night... I'll put my little effort on hold for a while. I guess it even rings hollow at this point to say that he means well?

I have hopes for Mia if I was able to extract the correct diagnosis (patent foramen ovale) from the few garbled details that her current Dr. gave correctly... as for his competence... let's just say that I'm glad that Vikki's friend was called in.

Speaking of Israel, didn't he focus on Vikki to the exclusion of everyone else in the room? If I wasn't certain that he is every inch the professional I would swear that he was leering.

Carlos- If even you can't mount a defense for Anibal, then we know he's sunk (not that there was ever any doubt). He deserves an anvil as big as Kendra's.

As for Irael-- I wouldn't be surprised if Vicky has all kinds of admirers all over the place. I'm surprised JA didn't pick up on how close Isreal got to Vicky as he explained the situation. She had to point out that the baby was Nelson's (and not hers) so that he'd turn his attention to the fury weepy one.

Adri said a while back, when she got the false report about the nurse, that she was going to find a new investigator. She was convinced her detective had been bought out by Anibal, and she was right.
 

NovelaMaven – Terrific recap. It sailed from beginning to end. My favorite: “Tia Puchis ... Salsero has been working on his nurturing side, it's true, but this may be asking too much.”

It’s bad enough AnyBalls blocks Adri from getting her daughter, but inciting Lili to chase after Guzmancito anew is too too much. The man is pure evil.

I don’t believe Adri is in love. She’s been a hermit since having her baby and Joan is the first man that rang her bell since then, that’s all. She needs to take a real good look at Zambrano instead. Then after filming “Amores Verdaderos,” Joan could do the sequel “Three Bodyguards for Three Balvaneras.”

I’m hoping the preview editors are just yanking our chain and that Lili doesn’t really walk in on JA and Vickie. It doesn’t seem plausible that both JA and Lili would show up at this new place. Remember when the previews made it look like Nikki would catch Nelson and KendraHo? Never happened. Fingers crossed for Lili.

Susanlynn – Un abrazo fuerte.

I’m wondering if KendraHo will go BSC with hallucinations and all in the end. Her callousness about her own baby is beyond the pale. There was a wee crack in her armor when she ordered the hit on Cris – for a nanosecond she had a tear and said something like “sorry, Cristina but…” But of course she froze right back to her evil. I can see an even bigger crack developing over her using her own baby.

I like the idea of Lili and Roy working side by side. If Roy can vanish her Guzmancito obsession, I'll take him.
 

Madelaine, after reading your comment it suddenly dawned on me where José A is taking Vikki... Opalina's Magical Snail Palace...of course!... thanks. Even though it all seems a little bit sleazy to me, perhaps that will be where the mystical conception will take place with the snails humming some enchanted ditty in the background.

Glad to know I didn't fall asleep and miss a scene where Adri got her P.I. report. I knew she hired someone on her own. Normally, we have the scene where character gets report/truth and then goes ballistic. Univision probably cut it for commercial time.
 

Looks like the Ikkis are both moving forward to happier lives although there may still be some obstacles in their paths. How many anvils are lined up for other characters ?..KendrHO, Anyoldballs, nil...I hope that Dances with Sunglasses doesn't get hit because he certainly seems to have reformed and Bea deserves some happiness.
 

Adri had asked Guzman for help getting another P.I. Maybe it's one of his former colleagues on the police force.

Vivi and Carlos, I also noticed how intent and attentive Israel was to Vicky. Vicky is charming and am confident she has had many admirers fawning and falling...

Carlos: "Opalina's Magical Snail Palace" makes perfect sense! It may indeed become "one enchanted evening" if the child is indeed conceived there.

I'm pretty sure the figure we saw in shadow was Lili in the preview. I'm unsettled because we also saw Vicky (in bed with JA) alarmed at something she had either seen or heard. Let's hope the two scenes are unrelated and that it is only a coincidence.

I would like to see someone, ANYONE, finally say no when Anibal offers them money to lie/disappear/break the law/do his bidding. It seems that Carlos did not accept money to go away, but instead as beaten up and blacklisted (and still made it to Vicky’s wedding to beg one last time). And we all know Guzman will tell him to jump in the nearest lake. I wonder what choice Vicente made? He was very young, but I’m going to assume he also refused the money and Anibal found another way to get rid of him.
 

Anibal also offered Salsero money when he asked him to do some things for him and he turned him down. Anibal's thought that was a headscratcher, too.
 

Yeah, he offered Salsero money to get the CD (Vicky and JA) and destroy it. Salsero did it for free. Doesn't really count in my book since he did his bidding. But that little plan was the only Anibal plan I approved of.
 

Fabulous, NM! Loved "See?" And "oh ho!" "Paging Tia Puchis!" So many funny lines. And, as always, an organized, easy to understand recap of a confusing whirlwind of storylines.

Thanks NM and commenters! Lets hope baby Mia makes it and gets adopted by one of our nice characters!

Diana, I also have reservations about Nelson's tears -- only a real monster (like, say, Kendra) is indifferent to the suffering of his or her child but REAL compassion extends to the suffering of OTHER PEOPLE'S CHILDREN (like, say, Nabila). Still, Nelson's sensitization may push the plot along:

Do we think that Nelson will follow Victoria's example and start acting like a mensch now?

Will he spit in Aníbal's eye, give Vikki a divorce and tell Adriana the truth about her daughter?

If he does so, he gives up his claim to the huge Balvanera fortune. Miss Kendra won't be happy...

I kind of tuned out through a lot of this episode...just couldn't get into Kendra's evil wailing or Nelson's tears (p.s. nice try, Nils; I still hate you).

Anyoldballs gets worse all the time. Will he not be satisfied until he has ruined EVERYONE in his family? Why the heck would he give Lili that terrible advice? I really want someone to just spill all his stupid secrets. Everyone gives him way more authority than he deserves.

Good catch! I remember that scene and knew there was ... something ... about it but could not put my finger on it. She was def. in the front seat, a sign they are becoming equals. I think they've been 'tuteandose' ever since The Big Night in Cuernavaca.

Or does he intend to keep Candelaria quiet by MARRYING her, thus making Lili his nieta política?

Aníbal plans to exploit Lili's Guzmania to break up Nikki and Frankie. Is he also trying to get back at Paula by using her son and then kicking him to the curb?

It's clear he's trying to steer her back to the androgynous rich boys with fancy names for her own good.

By egging on Lili's Guzmania, he is making it harder for Nikki to accept Lili as a sister (indirectly sticking it to Victoria and Arriaga)

Did anyone else get the feeling that Aníbal was taking out a HIT on Nurse Abigail? Or on the detective who was on her trail?

Do you really think the Angel and the Saint are headed for the House of Snails? I hope not. Magical? Maybe. Romantic? Not at all.

Yeah, the previews definitely showed Lili opening a door and then they cut to JA and Vikki in bed. But for all we know, those preview elves spliced together two unrelated scenes. The voiceover told us there would be acontecimientos inesperados (s..* was going to happen)
 

NOvelamaven....That was a very interesting and detailed analysis of ANyballs possible strategies. In real life, there are people who seem to enjoy micromanaging everyone in their orbit. I have never been able to understand this attitude. Everyone gets one life that he or she is in charge of. I feel sorry for Any because he 's wasted his life trying to control his family instead of supporting and enjoying them. So many wasted lives in this novela...Any, KendrHO, nils.

I think Mia was the only premie. All the rest were in regular cradles. She's actually pretty small for a tn baby. The smallest one I've seen. I still remember the truly GIANT "premie" in En Nombre del Amor. That one was all cramped up in the incubator, poor thing.
 

True, Mia isn't a giant when compared to other telenovela babies. But she is still quite large for a seven-month premie.

Well, I never thought I'd see Nikki grow into a mature, caring, woman who would lower herself to hang out with an "empleo" in an apartment as simple as Guzmancito's, but she's come a long way. Now she needs to take the next step which is the full realization (when it's disclosed) that "Ratiana" is actually her sister.

Looks like Roy the Toy Boy is leaving the Doris & Milton Show and getting some values of his own. He may turn into un buen hombre. So then let's do something about that ghastly hairdo and stop looking like a cartoon character.

I do think that Vikki and Angel are headed for the house of snails. The writers made a big deal of Opalina giving him the keys to her house for a reason. A great place for V & A to have some private nooki.

Cande, when are you going to scream the truth and screw what happens to Anibal?

About the Ikkis' guardaespaldas, can we tell Ratiana "go get your own guardaespalda!!! take for example, ZAmbrano!!!! But where would the little gardener be.
I love Lilli and her Guzmania? I was sick for days so I don't know who coined this word? it is so right on the dot. that is so funny.

 

When will there be a sequel to this novella ? It is good subject matter for a part 2.
