Corazon Indomable #28 Wed. June 19th. The Big Reveals

Solita faints, she’s brought up to her room and promptly falls asleep. I wish I could sleep like she does. I even wear earplugs so I can’t hear anything, but I still lay awake. Just another benefit for the youth. Sigh. MC thought bubbles about what could be wrong with Solita. It’s amazing how straight her hair gets with how educated she becomes. I must still be quite ignorant because my hair is still wavy. Sigh.

Octavio and Eduardo walking at the pier in Tuxes are discussing their love lives. Octavio is trying to convince Eduardo to leave Areceli alone and Eduardo is trying to convince Octavio to forget MC. No on both accounts.

Don Ale and Tobias are still in the livingroom after having the strudel. Don Ale, about the strudel?  Just remember, a moment on the lips, a lifetime on the hips.  Ale mentions something about MC leaving at some point when his daughter shows up, and Tobias wants to put a stop to that kind of talk. Ale gets suspicious but Tobias covers up by saying that he would also miss her and wouldn’t want her to leave any time too soon. After Ale leaves, he thought bubbles that he better have a talk with Don Ale about being MC's father.

Teobaldo and Areceli are at the appartment and he is trying to identify a leaf which is obviously a rose leaf from the roses he is growing outside while Areceli is finishing mopping the floor. She asks him if he would give her some of her money to buy some clothes and he happily obliges. Happiness is all around blah blah blah.

Raisa and Carola enter the office discussing the better night the casino had last night after Ale put an ad in the paper saying that he would compensate anyone’s losses from the thief.

Solita is having another nightmare when MC enters and wakes her up. MC goes to get Don Ale to summons a doctor.

An incredible scene: We jump to Lucialoca bringing in a scared MC salvage basura replacement to Miguel’s office as he is writing a letter back to Octavio. She has her sit and write a letter to Octavio to tell him that she is doing well and no problems at the shack. Miguel looks on and can not believe he is married to this psycho crazy bitch and can’t understand what she’s doing and why, and neither can I. Why did she need to bring in someone to do this? Couldn’t she just write the fake letter herself? Why did she need to find a young female who looks like MC for this? Is Octavio ever going to see who actually wrote the letter? Am I waaay overthinking this?
Another incredible scene: As if Solita hasn’t gone through enough, she has just finished an exam by Dr. Ortega on an exam bed that is in HIS OFFICE and he sits at his desk and calls MC to come in. He asks if Solita has a boyfriend or a husband and she tells him no, she’s just a child. Now, MC has been told by Justa and Serafina that Solita possibly is pregnant, and now the doctor just asked her if she has a boyfriend or a husband, and Maricruz, is impactada that the doctor tells her that Solita is pregnant. I thought MC is educated and more worldly now? Sheesh. How? She asks.
I have to take a pause here and recover from the stupid. I’ll be back.

Ok, I had a shower and some more coffee and now I’m more refreshed and ready to tackle this. Where were we?

MC describes how Solita was always happy and carefree and then suddenly she wasn’t. She started to have nightmares and was sad and unhappy and scared all the time. She just can’t understand what could have happened. It takes a portly middle aged bald man who has an exam bed IN HIS OFFICE to connect the dots for her to and suggest that maybe she was raped.

Miguel still has his jaw hanging open at what Lucia is doing. After the young woman leaves, he says that he can’t believe Luciamuyloca, she’s not the normal crazy woman he married, she’s hit a new level and I think he’s got to be shaking in his botas. She defends herself by saying she’s doing everything to protect her baby bump and her husband.

MC brings Solita to their room and talks to Solita about what the doctor told them. Does Solita even know how babies are made? MC still hasn’t put two and two together to figure out who could have done this to her, no surprise, and Don Ale comes up to ask what’s up. MC tells him and he’s impactado. He will stand beside them, of course, and they shake on it with a handshake close up.

Tobias later comes in and asks MC to get the box with the letters out. He directs her to pull out one of the letters. Clueless MC doesn’t understand. I will now save you 15 minutes of viewing time. Tobias tells her to read the name on her letters from her father and the address. Finally, the clueless one gets a clue. What a surprise! Who would have thought that Don Ale was her father, she’s so happy to know now, crying, smiling, so happy to have finally found him. Rinse and repeat several more times for the next 15 minutes. Thank goodness for waterproof mascara. Now the big question. What will she do with this information? I know, why not tell Don Ale? MC gets her vengeance on!

Oblivio receives an envelop that contains a letter from Miguel and MC substitute. He reads it.

Toni (does he have an Italian accent?) is warning Teo about Raisa’s plans for Areceli. Teo gets frantic for wanting to protect Areceli. He goes to see Carola to ask if she would fire Areceli. She agrees to do it by the end of the month.

MC finds Solita in the kitchen. She tells Solita that she discovered that Don Ale is her papa. Since Solita understands what she’s telling her, I will now assume that Solita can read lips because she didn’t sign this info. I just noticed that Solita has a red slash mark across the back of her neck. Is this new? Did I miss something? Where did this come from?

A BIG thank you cathyx---Wow! you got a good one last night. Maricruz now knows her papa and all of this came with no runny mascara. Well she lives in the big house and uses the good stuff. LOL

your strudel comment was hilarious but true I guess.

You made me laugh when you wrote---
He can't believe he is married to this psycho crazy bitch. So true.

Adriana Noel---I was going to second what JudyB said yesterday about your use of "confuzzled" but then you said that you didn't make up the word, you saw it somewhare and decided to use it. Well anyway,
it was great. You made me laugh.
Even though confuzzled isn't a proper word, it was a perfect description of Oblivio and it made me laugh---good going.
the gringo

Ment to say---She lives in the big house now.
the gringo

You're right Gringo. MC is ready to claim her title. She's standing a little bit taller now that she knows who she's the daughter of.

Excellent recap cathyx. Very tightly woven, complete, and yet... very very funny.

I wonder if the standin Maricruz is left handed or was just using her left hand so that the letter would appear to have been crudely scrawled?

Wow! Just like that, Maricruz knows who her daddy is. I thought that would be first revealed to Alejandro and not nearly so soon.

I think my favorite part was Alejandro assuring Maricruz that he intended to treat both her and Solita as his daughters... no such reassurance about the monkey however.

Speaking of said monkey, was I the only one who lost his appetite for the strudel as he crawled over the kitchen counter and the freshly washed dishes?

Carlos

Thanks Carlos. True about the reveal happening so soon. I bet on a previous thread that it wouldn't come to light until the last week of the TN.

Cathyx and Carol- Between Cathy's recap, and Carlos' comment, I have been chuckling steadily for the last few minutes.

Yes, very surprised and pleased by how quickly Tobi revealed the truth to one of the people involved. MC is standing even taller now, but she's also even more determined to get revenge.

Perhaps the red mark on Solita's neck is from the monkey? I notice now that MC has nice clothes and hair, she never picks up the monkey anymore. Can't have him messing up her hair.

I don't think that Solita understood MC-- she's usually happy when it seems like MC is super happy. But she may have easily read MC's mouth when she said papa. That's a pretty easy one to pick up on. I hope she tries again to dscribe Ewsebio like she did a while back. She seems to be in the same denial about having a baby as MC was the first times people told her she was pregant. She kept shaking her head when MC signed that there was a baby in her belly. Poor kid.

That's Carlos, not Carol. LOL!

CathyX:

Thank you, thank you for this most marvelous funny recap!

I too thought Don Ale would be the first to know that MC is his daughter, I hope he finds out soon. I am also glad that MC took it the way she did.

I liked your asides about Luciafer, lol. She is very BSC and I can't believe she had that MC lookalike write the letter also. Maybe Luciafer couldn't write crudely like this girl could?

Poor Solita, she so doesn't deserve this. I don't know if she understands what is happening to her either. Poor little thing. I hope the ewwwy one gets his just desserts, sooner, rather than later!

I really like how Don Ale is handling all of this. He is stronger than he looks. Having MC around has helped him out a bit, I think. He has a mission now, even though he had one before, finding his daughter, but he is a bit calmer now despite all of this going on.

Tav is an idiot if I ever saw one. Did MC ever write before? He has to take a trip to the hacienda, which Luciafer, thinks he'll never do. I want Tav to find out exactly what Miguel and Luciafer have done to him and MC. Tav also needs a comeuppance for abandoning MC the way he did!

I like Teo, but Tony is a bit slimy. I wonder if Tony is the thief or maybe Raiza has been the thief all along.

I'm glad that Tobias had MC look through those letters. It was a really good thing that he did. I had my doubts about Tobias at first, but now like the fact that he pointed MC in the right direction. I too liked it that he took MC to her Papa's room and showed her that picture of her Mama. I still can't figure out how Don Ale and Tobias never recognized MC right off the bat. I guess I need a beanie ; )

Thanks Cathyx. Definitely a few head scratching moments last night and not because I was around the monkey. (though he is sooooo cute).

I did not expect Tobias to go to MC first with the big reveal. Boy, she sure started using those "stand tall and work them heels" lesson. So will we be glimpsing the new and improved, translated to businesslike, maybe even bitchy (but in a nice way--only with the baddies and TAV), new MC? My first thought when Toby told her and she got that LOOK ( she should patent that look) was heaven help Tav if he gets anywhere near her. And then lo and behold, we get a preview that may happen? Ouch!

Ok - I think the time is past to wait to give Solita lessons. She needs them NOW and help this poor girl deal with what is happening to her. I can't stand how lost she looks anymore when things happen to her. Writers need a good horsewhipping.

Miguel, Miguel, Miguel....reap what you sow dear. The longer you let her act like this, the crazier she will get. Enjoy!

Daisy

Cathyx, great!

Oh good grief, how can we have so many dimwits in one TN?

Oblivio doesn't know for sure that is MC??????
MC has NEVER looked at the name & address on the letter in all these years???????
Alejandro hasn't looked at the picture of his esposa in how long, & noticed a resemblance to MC??????
Luciafer is protecting her baby & esposo from MC????????
Miguel is just standing there with his thumb in his nalgas???????
The monkey is the smartest one in this Mejia classic, at least he knows where the strudel is!!!!!!

Daisy,
The writers are confuzzled!

gringo, Confuzzled is in the Urban dictionary.

Thanks, Cathyx, for that excellent recap.

Carlos, I am with you on the monkey ruining that strudel for me. And I am pretty certain, too, that Don ALe will not be adopting that monkey....tolerating, maybe...adopting...notes.

I think the thief is either RandyRaiza or ToughTony..maybe they are in the thefts together. Pobrecito Teo's will no doubt be blamed. I'd like to see a meeting between Raiza and Lucrazia . I think Raiza would be way out of her depth with Lucrazia, Queen of crazy and maxis.

Variopinta- After asking logical questions at the beginning of the week, I have now decided to let these things go (for now). MC actually hasn't had the box and letters for years-- just since gramps showed them to her a few weeks (months?) ago. But she did say to Tobi that she remembered the name perfectly-- Alejandro Men...doza. Yeah, it took WAY too long for that light bulb to go off. Just like both Tobi and Alejandro should have been instantly tipped off by MC's looks and her last name, Olivares.

Wow Cathyx, you made me laugh so hard!

I was actually surprised how MC reacted to the info. Just at the begining of the epi she was saying how she hates her father, what a bad man ect, and when she found out he's Don Ale it all instantly go away??!
I missed the questions of where were him all those years ago and why not look for her at the begining?

The mascara must be a top line product to witstand so much crying, I'm wondering how many times they had to retouch the eyliner and mascara during the take.

Carlos, I'm at the same opinion about the monkey, no animal should be admitted around the dishes, it makes my stomach turn.
And did you guys see during the big revealing scene that the monkey almost tore down the stutters from the window in the back?

Cathyx thanks for your recap. As others have mentioned, it was hilarious. I got a kick at your comment relating intelligence with straightness of hair.

Gringo - I had seen confuzzled somewhere as well and did think Adriana used it perfectly as its yet another synonym for Oblivio.

Carlos - I enjoy how you are always looking out for the monkey. Let's believe that Don Ale's graciousness extends to our simian friend.

Vivi & Daisy - Solita does need lessons now not only to express herself but so she can communicate with others. The writers should be tortured for this plot.

Daisy & Variopinta = you two added to the fun. Daisy - your comment on Miguel's future blessings from enabling a loon and V - your questions made me LOL!!

If Raisa is the thief, I can't figure out her motive. She wants to marry Alejandro, but making him bankrupt won't make him a millionaire. Maybe she wants to buy the casino from him? Carola might have that motivation, but she seemed pretty happy about the ad in the paper fixing the problem of no customers. I did suspect Toni but after last night's warning Teo about Raisa's plan for Areceli, I now think he might not be that bad of a guy.

The other episode Raiza said she was starting to give up on her dream of marrying Alejandro, so she would have to find another way to make her fortune. She also tried to convince Carola to start skimming funds from the casino in order to have enough to buy out Alejandro. She said he wouldn't notice, what with the drop in revenue since the thefts anyway. Not sure if Carola agreed to do it, but she also didn't turn the idea down totally.

Variopinta---I thought that it was a made up word, I have never seen it before. Anyway, I agree that it was a good description of Oblivio.
the gringo

Miguel is so weak. I don't understand how even Luciafer can stand him! (Cathy X, could you please go back to calling her Luciafer? I died laughing when you first gave her that name)!

As I've said before, I really hate the villains in this TN because they have nothing else to do accept plot against a simple country girl all day long. However, I kind of like Luciafer because she has a pleasantly terrifying smile on her face at all times. I would think she was a lady that went to my church (I live in California, the church ladies dress like her here). Now I'm afraid of the church ladies!

Carlos...I wanted to hurl when I saw the Moctavio walking around the dishes. What's shocking is that no one in that house seemed to care. So? How sanitary is that house? What else don't we know about them? I couldn't eat there unless the food was ordered in.

Cynderella

Cathyx, you nailed your recap from start to finish! I loved your mention of Lucialoca/ Luciamuyloca, I haven't watched the show, yet, but I can see Miguel's face looking at all this scene...

And it is true, the writers seem to be the most confuzzled ones in this one... :)))

Poor Don Ale, he decided to do some good, help two poor girls in need of protection and it turns out they're both pregnant. I know this is a tn and the girls are both innocent, but in the real world, it sure wouldn't look good.

The whole casino/ thief story is somehow boring me for now...things have picked up a little ever since MC came to the city, but the level of stupid is still so big, sometimes I find it hard to watch....

except, I meant to write except

Cynderella

Good, funny and to the point, CathyX. My favorite line:

"I will now save you 15 minutes of viewing time."

Yessss, the big reveal and duh moment were sooooo drawn out, migawd, I thought the episode would be over before she grasped the truth about daddy.

Uncomfortable moments:

1. Monkey all over kitchen counters and dishes.
2. The thought of what Solita must be feeling, having an ob/gyn exam..particularly without Maricruz or somebody trusted present.
Yeah, I know...just a story and just an actress...but I'm into it! Couldn't help wincing.

Oh, and the strudel comment...hips I don't worry about, but with Alejandro's heart problems, strudel is a disaster!

Cynderella, I only changed Lucia's name because she's acting more crazy than evil, if that's even possible. She has this look she gets that is a half stare with a smile that says 'crazy chick here'.

Adriana, I'm with you on the boring casino theft plot. Who knows with these writers if this will be important or not. Same with Teo. Yawn.

On the topic of the monkey in the kitchen. It never crossed my mind about the cleanliness of it hopping around there. To me it's worse having them hold it. Now whatever germiness it has is actually on their body and hands.

I wonder if the mono does what all monkeys seem to do, throw their fecal matter. Nasty critters although he is cute.

cathyx, thanks for the fun recap.

Carlos, once I saw the monkey on
the countertop in the kitchen it was hard to concentrate on anything else. No other ocmments from me.

Jarifa

Cynderella---LOL Don't be afraid of the church ladies. I'm sure that they're nicer than Wild Eyes Lucifer.
the gringo

Funny recap, cathyx.

About Solita - although the writers do bear some blame, esp. since they've done some silly things with other characters, I mostly blame Mrs. Mejia for how little they have focused on her, except to make her pregnant. Solita is a brand-new character (not in the previous two Mexican versions at least) and either her character was not developed enough by the writers or it was developed but then ended up on the cutting room floor. I've read that Mrs. Mejia has been very involved in post-production and has had the editors completely cut out many scenes, which might also explain why some episodes have had glaring errors in continuity.

Where is the casino? Can't be too far from DF.

Isla Dorada is in Cancun.

Actually, the "Isla Dorada" location shoots are in Manzanillo, Colima.

From DF to Cancun is 807 miles, that is nothing in TN distance.

I so love that word confuzzled!! Should be the subtitle here.

I hate to come down so hard on our little primate friend. I think the real problem is that said sweette has not been properly trained in real life. I think everyone ignores it because they've been told to stay quiet around it, don't make sudden movements or if you aren't their owner, don't try to correct it. You do that, you get a nice set of bite marks more than likely. They get scared and will lash out.
One of my sons more crazy-minded friends got the idea he would love to own a marmoset monkey a few years ago. So the gang read up on it all thinking it would be fun for one of them to have a monkey. Changed their minds when they did the research thank the heavens. Seriously, small monkeys are usually one-person monkeys and will not listen to anyone else but their primary owner. Certain smaller ones are more "trainable" than others, but essentially they are all wild, so trying to show that somehow this little cutie is adaptable to living in a household with no collar or leash when outside, is just wrong. Sort of the opposite of the usual PSA--unless they are showing how NOT to have a primate for a pet.

Wow! Yesterday I said I wanted apple strudel but I didn't see the scene in the kitchen because I was in my own kitchen. No monkey running around there, just a cat and she is not allowed on the counters or the kitchen table. She's very good but occasionally I catch her. Well now I no longer want apple strudel.

My extra-strength beanie has been tightened for some time now. Maricruz is the spittin' image of Lupita and has the same last name but no bell goes "ding ding ding."

Hello, I'm on and off this tn. This is so funny Cathyx.
I am also pleased of the quick reveal of MC's origin.
Tobi is indeed loyal and honest.

I was just thinking that maybe the reason MC was not able to realize the connection about those letters is could it be she could not read that is; she might be illiterate? And yes that is right, the box was not in her possession then.
I am also confuzzled as to when and how MC can exact her revenge if she does not return to the country side. so maybe the best way is to pretend to forgive Octavio and make them return to that horrid house of Luciafer and Miguel.

Finally Miguel seems to realize how loca his wife is! Finally Tobias tells Maricruz that she is Ale's daughter. I wish they would tell Ale, though! I doubt it would kill him. I think it is very, very interesting what Maricruz is going through psychologically. She understands clearly that she is turning into "un demonio" and is going down a dark path. Usually people don't realize this. She knows she is becoming hateful and is pursuing this course quite adamantly.

Thank God Tobi is honest and loyal, i tot this would play out like others tobias the wicked servant.. I feel relieved
