Qué Bonito Amor #43 (Mex 64-65.1) Wednesday 6/12/13 Jantos is MIA, Bruno is DOA, Whiny is SOL
Labels: QBA
Thanks so much for this great recap. I too wondered why JA had that ring in his mouth. I thought at first it was a piece of glass or a piece of metal, when finally they showed the diamond sticking out. Oh and that rat looked so fake, usually they are moving around, this one stood still during the whole scene.
So Justo now knows that Bruno told Wendy that Santos is innocent. Too bad he didn't tell her about OJ. I hope she doesn't tell him anything else.
OJ is one ice cold dude. To shoot your own flesh and blood without breaking a sweat, that is cold. No remorse, I had one cold shiver going down my back after watching that scene and the one where he consoled Bruno's father.
Oscar needs to start working on his relationship with his son. He needs to stop denying and doing something. I did like how Rodri stood up for his Mama and told Oscar not to speak her name, he wasn't worthy, well not worthy, but close to it. He is like Oscar in some ways.
Ana is getting on my last nerve. JA is nothing like Mil Amores. The other Saucy Wenches seem to know this but since Ana is all disappointed in luurrvvee she is lumping all men in the same category. She is such a Debbie Downer, I wish she would just shut it and help Maria and stop tar and feathering JA.
If there is a glass window Santos can cut his way out of it with the diamond.
We finally see a Televisa rat! I wonder what rat wranglers earn.
Giuliano is a Godfather-wannabe. His behavior at the funeral could have been a scene from one of those films. This actor is doing his job well... and I suspect he's enjoying every second of it.
From the look on Justo's face when that happened I think he's figured it out.
Oscar dug himself into a hole and now he has to climb out of it. He's had this coming and that should keep him busy for a while.
Brava to Maria and to Mirna for telling the frat boys off. It reminded me of some of the inappropriate laughter I heard in the office at the more disgusting things in the early seasons of Survivor. Only this is worse because he is one of them. Except in Oscar's mind because he won Maria.
I always wondered whether the term "gringo" is meant to be insulting. Now I know.
Siete Mares may not be a gringo, but someone should tell Oscar when the time comes that being an alcoholic is worse.
Totally agree about Ana.
Ruben was behind the kidnapping. The music is obviously coming from the strip club. Santos needs to find a way to free his hands. Why does Mejia instruct his writers to always do these things to this excellent actor?
We learned Darren got the news of Bruno's demise before Bruno was even cold.
Michael learned Bruno got whacked.
We learned Michael is in love with Wendy.
We learned Ana is a busybody who figures if she can't be happy, NOBODY will be happy.
Roxana learned Fernando is not thinking about her too tough.
We learned Lourdes thinks plastic surgery will keep Concho around.
We learned Concho may only own half of JNTR
Oscar learned Rodri wants nothing to do with him.
Maria, Fernando & the JNTR gang learned Jorge Alfredo is missing.
We learned Bruno bought OJ the gun he was killed with.
We learned Bruno & Wendy were trying to set Santos up with some girl named Raquel.
Justo & Gracia learned Bruno's last words were that Santos & Michael were innocent.
Useful observation about the strip club music and who is behind the kidnapping.
Will the diamond ring cut through the binding hand and leg ties?
And is Mr. Dimples left hanging in today's episode? Does swallowing the ring keep his air passages open?
Tighten my beanie time. . .
I'm guessing that Santos will buy the place in the finale and a whole wardrobe of trajes. Maybe the other guy can start a Mariachi Academy.
Just as everyone else, I wondered what JAntos was doing with the ring in his mouth.... and I concluded he must be in Ruben's strip club by the music. And because Ruben is a scumbag. Hope he gets a big, fat anvil. I had to laugh at the rats though! Did you notice they did not move? Plastic, or stuffed?
I missed the second half so I did not see Siete Mares. I would watch more often but this TN was on here at 10:00 pm PST. It is not as compelling as AB or even LQNPA (duh) and another local channel is no longer showing the "Twilight Zone" at 11:00, so why stay up?
Anyway, I do appreciate all recappers for your diligent work on this. You are the ones that make the story interesting.
Poor Michael. Not only is he an innocent man in prison, but he's got it bad for Wendy. Hopefully she'll become a changed woman with Bruno's confession.
I will miss Bruno. At least he was trying to make good at the end.
They totally wasted Jorge Salinas for the whole episode (or more than an episode from Televisa). All he did was squirm around on the ground, maybe swallow a ring, and thought bubble. Yawn.
That plastic rat was so distracting! What the hell, did they think they fooled anyone with that?
I hope JAntos escapes tonight. I'm bored with JAntos tied up and thought bubbling. But the avances do make it look like something happens. But it's not good! However, since we can assume JAntos makes it to the end of the novela, I'm sure he'll pull through!
Looking forward (I think) to tonight's episode!
I just knew that last night would be a Whiny weepfest and sure enough. If the character weren't annoying enough the actress playing her is dreadful. She'd have been tossed out of any Acting 101 class and told this isn't the field for her. Too bad Justo and Gracia can't go looking for Santos but have to stay in LA with their useless daughter.
Coloso got back from Roddy what he deserved. I did laugh when the other guy told him the kid is just like you - I'm taking that too mean stubborn and stupid.
Ana's bitterness was really annoying. She's become one of those people like Amelia who become fixated on an idea and nothing changes their minds. Both of them are convinced JAntos is evil incarnate when he has done nothing to deserve it. Both women have transferred their negative feelings about men on to him.
I'm glad to see that Fernando is rally worried even if he is worrying about the wrong guy being responsible. Can't imagine what he will do since he can't go to the police without tipping them off to who JAntos really is.
“Univision rat” Ha! Love it. They should (and could) use this charming little ingenue more often. I see the rat wranglers (good one!) taught it the sit and stay commands very well. I wonder if it knows how to do something useful, like chew through rope?
That mylar balloon has her name on it. So that’s why she knew it came from her loverboy. :)
Whiny Wendy now has a new topic to whine about. Great. Just what we needed. *eye roll* “Wendy – waaaaaaaa Mom and dad worry about Jantos but know they can't leave Whiny alone in her time of need.” Remind me of a time when WW wasn’t in need?
Ana, Ana, Ana. That’s just plain not nice, to kick an amiga when she’s down. I thought you were better than that.
Sure didn’t like seeing my guy Jorge in such a bad spot. Pobrecito. Tomorrow looks even worse. At least he’s got the power of luuuuuurve to pull him through. BTW, I thought Ruben was on the phone with the bad guys and told them to put JA in the bodega. So Ruben is behind the kidnapping, but my question is whether there is someone behind Ruben, like OJ.
I haven’t seen Amalia do anything that tells me she thinks JA is evil. In fact, she’s told him she wants to like him and has said nice things to him and about him several times. I think she understands that his love for Maria is real, but she’s worried about it being enduring. She’s intuitive, and her intuition (and her common sense) is telling her that something about him doesn’t add up, and she IS right about that. She totally caught him lying about being a mechanic. Being suspicious doesn’t mean that you think someone is evil. You just want the whole story. I can’t fault her for that at all. I’m the same way.
If Maria wants to go the police, Fernando will have to stop her. But somehow I doubt she’ll think of that.
I had a feeling Bruno would kick the bucket at some point in the TN. I knew it was Giuliano who did it. You say you thought it was a woman. I could tell it was him in the close up shot of his mouth.
I think Justo knows it was Giuliano who killed Bruno. G obviously gave him a strong hint.
I too kept think JA/Santos was going to swallow the ring. It was freaking me out.

She doesn't seem to think in anyway there is something wrong or suspicious about an upper class man with money constantly showing up at her door trying to weasel his way into her good graces and Maria's.
He brings her supposedly damning evidence against JAntos which she believes without question. If I were in her shoes there'd be a five alarm fire alarm going off when this educated, well off and oh yeah married man keeps showing up to "protect" my child. But not Amelia, she practically fawns over him.
No matter; nothing will happen to it.
Giuliano killing Bruno with the rifle he gave him for his birthday; it doesn't get colder than that. He will sleep with the fishes.
Ruben DID order the kidnapping of JA, he WAS on the phone before that with OJ and OJ said he was coming to Mexico, but he DOESN'T know that the man OJ is looking for is the one languishing in his bodega. That is just another TN coinkidink.
That Televisa rat was awesome. Obviously well-fed, smooth fur, even on its tail and sitting perfectly still, it looked like a stuffed toy (ew) ... and then it moved! Well done, rat wranglers. :)
Those Telvisa rats work more than some actors and are probably better behaved than some. And they can act better as well LOL
I keep wondering if Ruben will show up to watch his captive or will he be afraid to show his face.
Amalia told Ruben in no uncertain terms to leave Maria alone because he is married. He said he's getting a divorce and she said that only makes things worse. She's been polite to him because they owe him a ton of money. That's all. She might be more concerned if Maria were madly in love with him, like she is with JA, but since she isn’t, Amalia isn’t going to alienate him because of their debt to him. I think that’s a reasonable course of action.
She's shifted a bit on her opinion of JA as she's learned more information. Yes, that means she's been inconsistent and I think it's fair to fault her for that, but it seems understandable to me because she's getting the story in bits and pieces. She's trying to get past her own intuitive concerns and be open minded for Maria's sake. Personally, I think that is a good thing to develop an opinion about someone over time and not make snap judgments.
What she said to Ruben when he brought the false info about JA is that she didn't know what to think. She was upset. She told Isa that nothing is certain. She told Maria to speak directly to JA and look in his eyes to see if his lying. That doesn't seem to me that her mind was made up and it seems very fair to Maria to encourage her to make her own judgment. She thought the evidence warranted investigation. It was a very serious accusation. Even young Paloma had the sense to ask how could Ruben lie about something so serious. I would have investigated it, too, in her position.
I get it that you don't like her, and that’s fine with me. We all have reactions to the various characters, sometimes strong ones. I like to come here to exchange points of view. But I don’t think the writers of this story intend for us to see Amalia as a bad person or a bad mother because, honestly, I haven’t seen anything in the show that supports that.
"Funny, this episode feels like it's been 2 and a half hours long" Yup. It was getting pretty good till this waste of an episodio was shoved our way.
I hope tonight's gives us some red meat again!
