Corazón Indomable #46, 7/15/13: Fatherhood is a Joy for Don Ale; But Motherhood is a B*tch to Solita

Maricruz enters Carola’s office and shows her a copy of the smoking gun check. Carola claims she don’t know nuttin’ bout nuttin’. She could give Lady Gaga a run for her money with her poker face. La Mendoza claims she and El Zorillo are thick as…well, thieves, and he gave her the check. Carola accuses Mari of being the accomplice of El Zorillo, and Mari counters that Carola will never be allowed to buy the casino now. Face off!

After reading Miguel’s Debbie Downer letter about not being too keen on spawning another child with Luciafer, Octavio reads Luciafer’s version of things, where apparently it’s all Tav’s fault, and he needs to straighten out his brother. Miguel is such a sensitive soul, and his funk is NOT Luciafer’s fault, but instead the fault of Tav and that savage he brought into their lives. He better fix it! Tav is sure that his brother’s problem is remorse (remordimiento). Tav does also admit his own guilt in the whole mess.

Carola makes like Cleopatra—a queen floating on her barge down the river DeNial. She claims she already cancelled that check, so Mari has no proof. Mari claims it’s still good enough proof of her shady morals. Carola and Raiza want to know what she wants. Mari wants to make a deal (un pacto). We get repeats of the same argument we’ve heard a dozen times before. “I’m Don Ailing’s daughter.” No, you’re not. Yes I am. And I’ll prove it. “You’re cooking the books.” No, I’m not. Yes, you are. And I’ll prove it once I finally get to take a look at the real books. (At this point, I want less talk and more action from our indomitable girl.) Carola is confident that Don Ailing will sell her the casino tomorrow, to be done with all the trouble that is hastening his death. Plus, it’s not like he wants for money or even casinos, since he has so many. “It’s like plucking one hair from a cat!” “Either you proceed legally with my father, or we’ll BOTH lose the casino. It won’t belong to either you or me!”

Doris and Pigtails Girl dine in the D.F. Pigtails would rather that a man pursue her and actually want her, than pursue a guy who doesn’t want her. She thinks Doris was quite fresh and forward to kiss the pilot the way she did. Doris admits she’s crazy…crazy in love with Octavio Narvaez. (Considering that you JUST met him, stick with plain old crazy, Doris.) Doris claims her love at first sight is just as valid as the love Pigtails feels for Doris’ brother, Andres. “One day he’ll realize he loves me.” Not happening, unless she actually tells Andres how she feels, says Doris. Then she leaves the table, commanding Pigtails to carry her shopping bags. (I’m looking forward to Pigtails one day telling Doris where she can stick her shopping bags.)

Mari is sure she can continue the fight against Carola alone. Carola taunts that Don Ailing has already lost the battle, and receives a smack to the mouth in reply. Carola keeps her cool, and continues to taunt Mari. If she’s really Don Ailing’s daughter, then why doesn’t she tell him the truth once and for all and stop flapping her gums about it? (Right on Carola! I can’t believe I’m agreeing with the villain.) Mari claims there’s no point arguing with a pair of doubting harpies like them. “My father will not sell you the casino! I will prevent it!” She stomps out the door.

Somewhere in the Arabian Desert, Karim is being advised by Old Advisor Dude to just marry the rich Arab girl picked out for him, plant his seed a few times so she can pop out a bunch of babies, and shalala shalala, everyone will be happy. Karim can then wander the world being an absentee father and philanderer. Of course, there is only one woman (who isn’t his wife) that he wants. Old Advisor Dude doesn’t get the obsession with one, when the world is full of beautiful women. Karim agrees to marry his pre-chosen wife, under one condition—his wife can’t travel with him. He needs to be free as a bird.

Teo doesn’t get Mari’s insistence on not telling Don Ailing that she is his daughter. She doesn’t want him to die upon learning the truth, although it’s something he has so wanted. Knowing that his daughter was poor, dirty and ignorant won’t help his health either, she thinks. Teo suggests that learning the truth might actually improve his health. Mari continues her bipolar attitude about Don Ale by bringing up that he just abandoned her and her mom to their luck (she and we know this is not true). “He doesn’t want Maricruz Olivares as a daughter. He’ll become totally disillusioned to learn the truth.” Teo thinks maybe at first he’ll react that way, but then he’ll quickly come around. “You have to think positively.” Positive thinking is not part of Mari’s repertoire these days. She’s as much of a Debbie Downer as Miguel (except she wears fabulous clothes).

Mari and Teo chat about their second favorite topic—Aracely. Teo claims she’s been blinded by love and won’t see reason. And he had such big dreams for her—to turn her into a lady. She was to be his work of art. His happiness. Mari says she’ll go speak to her. (Mind your own business, Mari!) Teo thinks it’s all Ed’s fault. “Tell me who you spend time with, and I’ll tell you who you are.” Mari claims Ed’s best bud is a jerk, and Ed is obviously just the same. (Hey, that jerk is keeping your baby secret, missy.)

In Mari’s living room, Ale speaks to Carola on the phone. He’s feeling worse and just wants to go home. He wants to sell the casino to her right away. Just as he’s saying he hasn’t yet spoken to his “protegida”, in walks Mari announcing her presence. She shakes her head at him like she’s scolding a child. Ale ignores her and finalizes a meeting time with Carola. Mari tries a little emotional blackmail and tells Ale he’s forgetting his daughter. Don Ale admits that this casino was his first, and he has a special affection for it, but he has to accept that he’s lost.
M: What do you think your daughter is doing in this moment?
A: She’s probably already married. She’s of age. (At age 19? 20? Dude, think a little bit more ambitiously Don Ale!)
M: Maybe not. She might not be married. She might be single. And what would be wrong with that?

Don Ale sees no problem with that, but doesn’t see what it has to do with the casino. Mari decides that she has to play dirty and pulls the check from Carola out of her purse. “Doesn’t it seem strange and suspicious to you?”

Solita Alert! She’s at the dining table drinking milk, eating a delicious looking pastry, and studying a book with images and the sign language signs to go with them. Suddenly she doubles over in pain, clutching her pregnant belly. I really hope Tobi got around to explaining child birth to her!

Don Ale is skeptical about the check. It could mean anything, and Carola would deny any wrong-doing. And just how did Mari get her hands on this check, anyway? Hmmmm….Seems his thoughts may be leading him to think Mari is, or is in league with, El Zorillo, but he shakes those thoughts out of his head. Mari invokes the “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy. She says she has more proof against Carola. Ale thinks that would be a show of disloyalty towards Carola. And why the heck is Mari so darn interested in the casino anyway?

Mari begs Don Ale, in the name of his daughter, to let her fight for the casino that has been his pride and joy all these years. “You are the most stubborn girl I have ever known.” He begs her to drop it. He’ll even ask Carola to let her work in the casino, although it won’t be easy, since she’s made an enemy in her. (I’ll say!) Don Ale struggles to get up and says he’s returning to Mexico as soon as possible. He thanks her for hosting him in her home, and the two share a meaningful, teary hug.

The pilots return to the Island. The same as usual. Ed is in crisis about Aracely, and is annoyed at Teo for making his life more difficult. But other lovely ladies await him, so off he goes to find them. Tav sits on his bed and obsesses about MC/MA.

Luckily, Solita does not give birth alone at the dining table. She is lying comfortably on the couch, while the doctor examines her belly and Tobi holds her hand. The doctor explains all is well; she’s just in the early stages of labor. First babies take some time; just keep track of the contractions and call him or the ambulance when the time comes. Tobi don’t know nuthin’ bout birthin’ babies, so he’ll call on Justa to help out. He leads the doctor out.

The next day, Mari wakes up and gets updated by the nanny/maid, Juanita. The baby has already been fed (how nice), and so has Don Ale, before the chauffer came to get him. Juanita even mentions how badly off Don Ailing is. Mari decides to go chasing after him, instead of spending time with her baby. “I have to tell him a great truth.”

In her office, Carola puts on her game face as she waits for Don Ailing to come finalize the deal. Raiza feels that all is not won yet—Mari surely has an ace up her sleeve. Carola feels her only ace was Karim, and he isn’t around at the moment. Carola thinks that luck is on her side.

Tav lurks in his usual spot in the hotel lobby and gets ignored, as usual, by Mari when she asks the front desk about Don Ale. He points out her rudeness, but she doesn’t give a damn. “Why, Maria Alejandra? Why do you dislike me so much?” Mari claims she doesn’t care about him, one way or another. He claims he admires her and wishes her nothing but the best. Mari doesn’t buy this for one second. She’s leaving, and NO, she doesn’t want him to accompany her. She’s got lots of things to do. Tav continues to bug her and dig into her business. He wonders, since they share the same last name, if Don Ale is her father. Mari tells him she doesn’t have to answer his questions. Tav tries a few romantic words (he feels like he’s always known her, yada yada) to convince her to let him accompany her, but no dice. Then Mari thought bubbles that the best way to eventually reach her goal of destroying him, is to let him believe they are developing a friendship. She agrees to let him tag along. Once he drops her off in their shared cab to the dock, he thinks to himself that MC and MA are either twins, or the same woman.

Carola instructs Tony to see Don Ale in, and to not let anyone else in once he’s in her office. She has the lawyer and notary waiting for him. Don Ailing looks like he’s regretting his decision…or is having another heart attack…or has indigestion from Juanita’s breakfast. The notary begins to read the legal documents out loud.

OMG! Poor Solita. It’s the next day and she is still in labor. Even Monito looks like he feels bad for her. Justa comes in and instructs her to breathe. She and Tobi decide it’s time to take Solita to the hospital. Once she’s on the gurney, her lips are pretty blue, and she looks in bad shape. The doctor comes out of Solita’s room and lays out the usual stereotypical dilemma for Tobi—it’s either the mother’s or the baby’s life. Tobi freaks. Her sister isn’t even in the city! (Call her, dammit!)

Outside Carola’s office, Mari spars with Tony once again. “Let me pass, or you will regret it the rest of your life!” She knees him in the groin and goes running to the office, yelling Don Alejandro’s name like a crazy woman. Don Ale opens up the door, breathing with great labor, and begs Mari to let things be. She argues with Carola. If Don Ale sells the casino, it won’t be to her! She’s trying to fleece him! She openly accuses Carola of rigging the roulette wheel and paying off the guy who “won.” Don Ale begs her, saying he’s very tired. Mari ignores his pleas and addresses everyone in the room. She announces that this is a scam/fraud (estafa) that she has to prevent. “Because Alejandro Mendoza is MY FATHER!” Cara muy impactada de Don Ailing, and everyone else in the room.
A: Is this true Maricruz?
M: Papa. I’m not kidding. I’m telling the truth. I was scared to confess it to you. But I’m the daughter that you have so long looked for.
A: (with tears in his eyes and rolling down his face) It can’t be.

Seems that Ed didn’t find any other girls to harass, so he spends the day at the beach with Aracely. She is once again fully dressed, and they have not gotten beyond second base. He is clearly losing his playboy mojo. She’s sad because she still hasn’t found a job, and she’s sure Carola is behind it. Ed thinks Teo is behind it. Aracely doesn’t believe it. In fact, Teo still wants to help and support her. Ed tries to convince her to move to Mexico (D.F.) instead. She seems to like this idea.

Back to the Big Reveal. Mari begs Don Ale to be strong and withstand this news. Carola demands PROOF! Maricruz says her first name is Maricruz, and her last name is Olivares (wait, he didn’t know her last name by now?!).

“I am the daughter of Guadalupe Olivares, and granddaughter of Ramiro Olivares. Yo soy tu hija. Your daughter. Destiny brought me to the door of your house, Papa. God brought me in his hands to you. And you found me, and cared for and protected me. A greater power pushed you to do so.”

Solita is in the delivery room, and continues to look weak, as the nurses and doctors look worried. (Why haven’t they done a c-section by now?!)

Don Ale is a puddle of tears and looks like he’s going to fall over. Carola once again demands PROOF, and Mari produces the two birth certificates from her purse and shows them to Ale. He clasps her to him and weeps. She then produces the photo of Lupita, and they fall into each other’s arms weeping once again. “Papa!” “Hija!”

Excellent recap, as usual, Vivi.

I must say I was especially annoyed at the editors for their choppy work on this episode. Why go from the dramatic first moments of the BIG REVEAL to a lonnnggg and boring Aracely and Ed scene, then back to the exact in time where the reveal was taking place, as if they had all just frozen in time. Ugh.

Still enjoyed the papa/hija moment, though.

And kudos to Gaby Mellado, who managed to convey the pain of labor so well without uttering a single sound.

Vivi thanks so much for your recap. I caught the first few minutes of MC and Carola playing their same bad game so I decided to wait to see where the good parts are.

I'm surprised the schemes of Mohammed actually got Karim out of dodge. His obsession is working my nerves.

And I hope stupid Tav does not listen to Lucifera.

Wow!! This was the episode I was waiting for! Don Ale crying was so powerful and moving. Solita in trouble and Oct making progress with MA. Completely satisfied for another two weeks....until my frustration comes back.

thanks, Vivi. Well, things are finally moving along. Pobrecita Solita just cannot catch a break. And exactly what part of "NO" doesn't Oblivio understand ? The guy is tenacious . Still do not care a fig about Ed and his love life ..or lack thereof.
Finally, Don Ailing (ha...good one , Vivi.) knows the truth. At last.
Okay..let's move along now..ACTION !!!!!

Thanks, Vivi, enjoyed your recap.

It's a relief that Don Ale knows the true identity of MariCruz. That much is good.

But I am baffled--truly baffled at the delay in telling him. Why not let him know in his home, with his doctor present? Why wait until the most tense possible moment, when he's completely exhausted?

It was good to see the tearful reunion and hope he survives long enough to enjoy the relationship. MC attacking Tony and pounding at the door to get in was vintage MC.
Yikes!

Amazing recap, Vivi, just like always!
I loved:

Carola makes like Cleopatra—a queen floating on her barge down the river DeNial.

So accurate and imaginative!

While listening to Doris profess her love for Tav all I could think about was: couldn't we at least be spared of the instantly in love crazy beaotch who is craziness personified? I guess not...

At long last Don Ailing (LOL) knows the truth, but just like La Paloma, I have to wonder why they didn't tell him in the safety of his own home, with his doctor present.

MC should really pick her battles better, this Casino nonsense has no point...what does it have to do with getting revenge on Tav and Lucia and whoever else wronged her?

OF COURSE Solita was going to have an excruciating labor, the writers love to torment her.
MC not being there is not that surprising since she barely has the time to feed her own child. I think she's developing a crush on Carola, this is the only thing that can explain this sick obsession she has for the Casino.

Such an episode was in the perfect hands for retelling. Thanks Vivi so much!!

Boy, can Cesar bring it in those emotional scenes. Cripes, he had me a wreck watching him last night. I was yelling at the TV, someone give that man a chair! But then, hey that would be common sense, and that doesn't seem to be a recurring attribute in this show. Now, can we have this man live long enough to enjoy his new family?? Please!

So ticked off on the whole Solita plot. Hello--there are phones! I kept waiting in all the Don Ale or MC scenes to have them get the call that Solita at least went into labor. You know, a common sense update from the staff to the sister/boss? Yeah, not happening. I love how Tobias is there for her, but lord, that girl deserves someone else to REALLY care about her.

But then we have MC out and about everywhere but near her own baby. I know, I know...must progress the plot. At least Teo was giving her good advice, but reading your recap on what he had told MC about his plans for Are ( I didn't catch all that), I might need to slap him silly. She's his work of art?? So he's got a Svengali complex? Those never end well.

Now that the big reveal has happened, my hope is we stop these endless yelling fest with MC and whoever crosses her path. Making nice with Tav will help with that too--even is she says it's a ruse ( and of course, we know she will start to fall again).

I'm getting bored with the Luciafer delusional stuff and can we please resolve and focus on the characters with hanging plots before we start throwing in new characters with stupid obsessions? Just a thought. I'm with LatinaMD, this show will never win an award for editing.

Glad you liked the recap everyone. I too am very happy that Don Ale finally knows the truth. But I’m also disturbed by the way Mari finally chose to tell him. After all these months of not telling him, out of concern for what it would do to his health, she chooses to tell him in the most stressful situation possible. Qué?

ITA that CE really brought the emotion to that reveal scene. I really hope he’s around in this tn for a while longer. I want to see Don Ale spend time with his daughter and granddaughter, knowing who they are.

I also don’t get why Tobi hasn’t called them yet, considering how long Solita has been in labor. Mari and Don Ale should be there for her. But at least Tobi is there, and he does really care about Solita.

Don't blame MC....blame the writers!!! And on this one (the telling Don Ale at the most dramatic moment), don't blame Mrs. Mejia either...Well, blame her for not changing the script. This happened exactly the same way in the previous versions of this novela. And at least in C.I. it was a well-acted scene. Watch and compare the same scene in the Marimar version and you'll see what I mean.

Great job Vivi!

CE did an excellent performance once again! I just love how he can make any situation and character believable. Let's hope don a. have enough time to enjoy his newfound family.

The whole let the truth out situation was ridiculous! After so many months of hiding the truth in consideration of his failing health MA just telling DA without gold in a most stressful moment, and not a doctor in sight?? WHAAAT??
The other thing, in this TN they know Skype and MSN but nobody has a mobile phone to tell the others about important stuff, like a birthing of a baby???!

I can't stand the governor's daughter. She just instantly fall for our TAV out of caprice?
And Karim, I don't even go there.

It seems almost everybody developed and obsession with sby or sty else:

- MC - casino ownership
- Carola - casino ownership
- Luciafer - hatred for MC
- Karim - MC
- Doris - Tav
- Tav - MC/MA
- Araceli - Ed
- Teo - MA/Araceli
- Raiza - money

Don't these ppl have something better to do ??!

Tks mucho Vivi

Cliche #4, Mi padre, mi hija

We have a real problem with names. Don Ale lets a strange young girl into his home & doesn't even ask her last name ¿Qué what?
Minicruz still doesn't have a name. I bet on Alejandra Guadalupe, after pop & mom. Don Ale only has an episode or 2 left
And Aracely still hasn't asked Ed his last name or if he is married.

You guys crack me up, common sense?, logic? Mrs Mejia doesn't know the meaning of those terms.

Ed says he's in love with Aracely, Doris says she's in love with Oct, in just minutes after meeting them, the word is LUST. lujuria

Pobre Solita, abandoned once again except for dear Tobias & the mono. I agree the actress is doing a fantastic job. There is always a bright spot in every crappy novela.

I should also say that AB is doing well with the crap they have given her.

Variopinta- Agreed. Gabi (Solita), Cesar, and Ana Brenda are doing a great job with the roles. Really, most of the actors are doing well. The acting isn't the problem in this tn. The script and the editing are the problems. So I am enjoying the individual performances. Oh, and I am enjoying Mari's outfits! She hasn't worn anything in her new wardrobe twice. They really wanted to contrast her days of only three dresses.

Now that the truth about Don Ale/Mari is out, there are only two other storylines I care about-- 1) Luciafer getting exposed and punished; and 2) Ewsebio getting exposed and punished. I want Solita to be happy and able to communicate. I really don't care about MC and Tav getting back together, although I think he should know the truth about his child and Mc/MA. I couldn't care less about any of the other storylines and characters they keep throwing at us.

@Vivi - I agree. I love the performances, especially from Ana Brenda, Cesar Evora, Gaby Mellado and Elizabeth Valdez (yes, cousin Esther, not Luciafer). Even Daniel Arenas is doing ok, though he is not in Ana Brenda's league when it comes to acting. He gets A LOT of help from her in their scenes together. Fortunately, I don't watch novelas for their "surprising" plots. If I did, I wouldn't watch any of them. I've been watching novelas since I was a kid, so I've seen several versions of most novelas. Yes, C.I. doesn't have the best "action" or the best editing, but I still think it's the most entertaining one currently on Univision OR Televisa. (Even tripe is delicious when it's cooked a certain way - Menudo, anyone? LOL) All the other novelas currently on air produce a big YAWN out of me. Just a matter of personal taste, of course, so no problem if others don't agree.

Thanks Vivi, I love your Don Ailing nickname. That's a keeper.

Finally the truth is out. I've stopped caring about the stupidity of the timing. I just want this show to move along. I can't believe that it's #1 in Mexico. They must have really bad alternatives for that to happen.

It's too bad that Solita is considered such a minor character that she is completely ignored by her loving sister. An she has to endure so much for being a minor character that none of it makes any sense to me. She's deaf, raped, pregnant, about to give birth but may die doing it, and she's in the background of this TN. All that drama is usually for a main character. And we're supposed to care more about the casino than Solita.

IMDb says Gaby Mellado was in another forgettable novela
Triunfo del amor as Gaby
I don't remember that character. Can someone remind me, Vivi?

Thank you, Vivi. I loved "Tobi don't know nuthin' bout birthin' babies". That famous line really worked there!

I especially like the process of reading letters on this show (although I can't understand a thing). Thank you for including the details.

I still cannot speak Spanish but thanks to the TN, my reading of Spanish has improved!

Vivi -- I love your recaps. Have not had a chance to see the latest episode (company visiting last night) but am eager to watch it. Thank you again for your excellent update.

MA reverted to MC when she kicked that poor schmuck in the groin. Miss Manners would not have approved. But then you can't keep the wildness out of the lady. She's out for revenge, especially against men.
I suspect her "plan" to make Octavio fall in love with her to destroy him will backfire. She will see how much she still loves the dolt with his beautiful eyes and hair.

Great recap, Vivi!

Who needs cell phones, skype, email, when you have handwritten letters and floating hologram heads?

Wasn't Gaby M that atrocious Barbara character in Amorcito Corazon? What a change of character! She does the sweet and innocent thing really well, especially with the deaf/mute thing thrown in. Although I was surprised not to hear at least some heavy breathing or something during those labor scenes. She did let out that scream early on when MC was trying to kill herself (again) by jumping off the cliff.

I'm worried that since Solita has been treated as such an after-thought by the writers (and did someone mention she wasn't in the original version?) that we might have an orphaned Mini-Sol soon :( which I would HATE, because she adds such a lightness to this heavy, depressing tale.

I've wondered about the casino obsession too, but I think MC has mentioned that she needs power and money to get back at the Narvaez family and is convinced that the casino (once she nurses it back to health) will help her with that.

Thanks for this sparkling recap, Vivi.

Daisynjay:

"...someone give that man a chair!"

Exactly my thought last night. Maricruz can be forgiven because she was only recently introduced to chairs and their utility, but surely the thought must have occurred to Carola or Raiza.

C-section for Solita anyone?

Carlos

Another Amy, MC will have a lot of power and money now that she's stepped up her claim as Don Ailing's daughter. She doesn't need that trifling casino for revenge money.

Carlos, lol about chairs and their uses. One had to sit on a bed or the floor in the shack.

So much to say, where to begin?
Thank you Vivi. Have you been nominated for the Snark Awards this year?

Carola maks like Cleopatra--a queen
floting on her barge down the river
DeNial.

She's as much of a Debby Downer as Miguel [except she wears fablous clothes.]

Carola puts on her game face as she waits for Don Ailing.

Even Monito looks like he feels bad for her.

Seems that Ed didn't find any other girls to harass, so he spends the day at the beach with Arcely.

Vintage Maricruz or not, I loved it. But if it had been me, I would have made more of a ruckus than she did. Sick papa or not, I would have been screaming at Corola that if she signed the papers to buy the casino, I would sue her for theft and fraud and that I wouldn't rest until I see you behind bars. I would be an enemy like neither you or your sister could ever dream of. Actually, I thought that Maricruz should have come on a little stronger in that scene last nite. Vintage Mari, yes
but I would have liked a little more vintage.

Her attack on Tony---I was in pain all the way out in LA. OH!!! that hurt.

Adriana Noel---This casino nonsense
has no point---what does it have to do with getting revenge on Tav and Lucia? Adriana, it takes money
now she will have it.

I agree, Cesar and Gaby were both magnificent last night.

I was on the edge of my seat. Those
papers in Corola's office were oh so near. Oblivio blocking/holding her up, Tony blocking/holding her up, a locked door---I was thinking that it would be me having the heart attack and not Don Ale.

Daisynjay---The editing could be better but damn the editing, I love the show.

I don't think that MC chose the most stressful time to reveal her identity, I think that time had just ran out and push came to shove
It just happened.

Irisz79---And Krim, I don't even go there. ITA, where ever he is, let him stay there. He can enjoy his 1001 Arabian Nights.

Variopinta---Common sense? How many novelas have common sense? Just sit back and let it flow.
Enjoy.

Latina in MD.---OMG!!! No menudo for me!!! Please no!!!

Will Solita be brought to the forefront at some point? Let's hope.
the gringo

Another Amy
"Wasn't Gaby M that atrocious Barbara character in Amorcito Corazon?"
Yes she was, but I missed that one.

Variopinta- Gaby's role in Triunfo was very small. She played the snobby bff of William Levy's little sister (played by Livia Brito). But she had a much bigger role as the bratty/horrible little sister of Daniel Arenas (Octavio) in Amorcito Corazon. This is such a different role than that one.

Thanks Vivi for the recap! I was so over awed by the episode I forgot to thank you before.

Does anyone think it would be fun if Ed fell in love with Solita? I think it would be fun to watch him be unable to be his suave self and unable to talk a girl into his bed. It would be really nice to have him have to work hard for it!

Thanks Vivi, I saw TDA but honestly couldn't remember her part in that show.
She's doing a marveolus job impersonating this troubled deaf/mute girl.

Latina, you're right about that anything could be tolerable if it presented to it's best - I just looked up what menudo is, I had no idea - I checked all TN's playing currenty and beside this only 2 Telemundo shows are of any interest for me.

Even with the screw up editing and story the performance of many actors in this show are worth watching it.

Gaby in TDA
found this on you tube

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JzIBtjg_o9c

At least we know she can speak

Great title. That's all I've had the time to read so far Vivi. Back later. But looks like you have generated a lively discussion as well!

Carvivilie---Ed wouldn't be able to
talk her into bed, he would have to work hard for it.---So funny.
the gringo

"Maricruz can be forgiven because she was only recently introduced to chairs and their utility"

Ah, Carlos, your much kinder than I. I cut her no slack on the wringer she put that man thru, or what the writers made her put the man thru. Curs-ed writers!!

Daisynjay

Carvivilie,

If you think about it, Solita might be the perfect match for Eddy. I don't think it's his persuasive skills that he depends on, but rather that hair, those eyes, that smile, and maybe that shirtless charm that has seemed to capture the interest of some here. Has anyone heard him say anything particularly clever... or even seductive for that matter? And the fact that Solita can't speak would be a plus since he doesn't seem to be interested in what women have to say anyway.

Carlos

Carvivilie and Carlos- You two are bad. Although, if Ed is skilled, he might do some good in helping poor Solita realize that her experience with Ewsebio is not all there is. I so want justice for her!

OMG Carlos you are right! I was thinking about how much Ed has to constantly persuade Araceli, but since Solita can't hear and is all about the visual, and yes that really is all Ed has to offer, they are perfect!

But I would like to see Ed really fall in love and have his comeuppance. Solita's pure heart could do the trick.

Vivi, this could be an awesome love match on both sides!! Ewwsebio wouldn't dare try to take on Ed's rippling biceps and washboard abs! lol

Another great recap, Vivi! I enjoyed your asides especially Considering that you JUST met him, stick with plain old crazy, Doris.

I'm looking forward to the confrontations between D and MA/MC.

And Karim is a vile pig, but OMG I can't help but laugh at him. He is such a caricature at this point that I can't help but see it through a campy lens. Toss in that faux middle eastern "theme" music and it becomes comedy for me.

I am just chomping at the bits to see what it up with the Solita plot.

Even tripe is delicious when it's cooked a certain way
So true and there are folks who like menudo and folks who don't. I don't like menudo....but I am eating every bit of this CI tripe. :-)

Who needs cell phones, skype, email, when you have handwritten letters and floating hologram heads?

This had me in stitches!!

Mmmmmm .... menudo .... love it! :-)

MMMM! However since I don't eat beef, I'd love to have chicken pozole anytime. But Menudo looks great to eat though. I also enjoyed the Papa/hija moment. I just hope he gets to live longer to enjoy his daughter and to extend his role longer. The revelation did indeed ease up my frustrations and so until the next episode. Thanks Vivi.
