Corazon Indomable Cap. 39 Thursday, 7-4-13: Master Weaver MariAlejandra Hits One Tiny Snag

MariAle continues to look fabulous as she weaves her plots: revenge on the obtuse Octavio and domination of the crooked Canseco sisters.  She still considers Teo of the tender heart and shifting back hump her only ally on the island.  (Scenes may be plucked from their original sequence and grafted with others.)
Previously:  Octavio stops MariAle on the beach and initiates a sincere conversation.  Tobias gleefuly reports to Don Alejandro that he made Solita understand her pregnancy.
He Can’t Recognize the Face , nor Does He Look Behind It for a Motive
Oblivio puts down his newspaper (He was reading? Really?) as MA strolls by the garden. Oblivi leaps over the wall and stops our girl in her striking coral swimsuit and sheer coverup. He begs her for a real conversation and offers to tell the story of his love for the girl who looks like her. He wonders if the bad mood she claims could come from his resemblance to the past scoundrel who hurt her.
He promises to tell the truth and recounts his marriage to a wild country girl. When he left her, he did everything he could to secure her future life. MA wonders if she MC was a bad girl, but he vows his wife was naïve and harmless.  He didn’t love her, but he never thought he’d feel the attraction he now has for MariAle.

MariAle invites her sucker, er. . . suitor to look at her eyes and lips to see if she’s his country bride. The intently locked gaze pulls Oblivi in so much that he closes his eyes to plant a kiss. MariAle keeps her eyes open and backs up. He says the features aren’t the same—hers are more tempting. (The magic of moisturizer and makeup at work.)
Mastermind MA informs her victim that she’s looking for a love that is hers alone, not a substitute for another. She wants someone who values her and isn’t just using her for revenge on his brother and sister-in-law. A brain cell flickers to life inside Tav’s cute cranium and he demands to know how she knew that? He never told her, but she brushes it aside. He concedes that MC paid the price of his revenge but he wants to start over again. A door is left open, although the eager Octavio is clueless about MA’s vengeful designs.
Social Notes from Around the Island
Mareceli is back from her abbreviated trip to Mexico City.  She is concerned when Teo reports Carola fired him, but he says she’ll likely take him back. Mareceli is more interested in Ed, he of the slick hair and equally slick operating system. She calls his room and apologizes for her behavior in the city. Ed asks her to meet him in their usual beach spot, where a warm reconciliation takes place. Ed doesn’t want to seduce her, he just wants to be friends. The gullible Mareceli feels reassured and fails to see the furry wolf ears and fangs behind his tanned face.
Teo is correct in thinking Caro will want him back.  The phone rings while Mareceli is still there, with the blonde snake woman is on the other end. She needs him to unpack and check out a new shipment of machines. He says he’ll come see her in a moment and laughs smugly at his psychic ability. In her office, Carola tells Teo she needs him helping and supporting her as usual. He’s willing, but it will cost her quadruple his salary. They settle on a triple raise, while Caro strokes his shoulder and arm. (What is the back story here? Evil or creepy doings, misplaced maternal longings, que que what?)
Lucia Feels Uneasy (and She Can’t Blame It On Pregnancy)
Octavio’s visit and concern for Maricruz were enough to cause Luciafer to have uneasy feelings. She wouldn’t want people to sully her social image or doubt her innocence, so she visits Simone. (OK I’m guilty of sin here—I covet Simone’s house and charming patio.) Lucia, feigning wide-eyed innocence, babbles to Simone that she had nothing to do with the unfortunate events at the shack.
Simone asks Lucia directly, “What do you want?” Lucia wants Simone to trade on her long friendship with Miguel and find out what he thinks, since he won’t tell his widdle wifey the score.  Simone says no dice, Luciafer should handle this herself.  In fact, Simone isn’t stupid, she thinks Lucia set up MC for the theft charge. The strange look in Lucia’s eyes frightens Simone, who won’t go out of her way to defend her neighbor. An affronted Lucia leaves, telling Simone she tried to help her with Octavio and it’s not her fault Simone’s ugly. (Ha! Snippy and stupid, bonding with the family lack of brain cells.)
Due to either the insult or her innate good sense, Simone pays a visit to the police inspector. She’s thinking that MariCruz wasn’t guilty and wasn’t treated well. He agrees that she was probably innocent, but who would believe the crazy tale of the necklace in the mud? Then Simone suggests he should consider that someone set fire to the shack. The inspector, who apparently never heard of arson in his police training, thought it was accidental. Simone encourages an investigation and the lawman contacts Jose Antonio, who believes Lucia was involved.
At the hacienda, Miguel is brooding at his desk, wondering if Lucia could be guilty? She comes in to coo at him, but he is too distracted to speak and leaves the room with a headache (leaving his greater headache behind, wondering how much he might suspect).
MariAle’s Island Adventure Is Scheduled for Hiatus
MA is resting in her room, pondering her plans for vengeance on Oblivio. He didn’t love the untamed MariCruz, but MariAle has him eating out of her hand. She’ll give him enough rope to strangle him, both him and Lucia. Lucia will have to kneel before her.
Don Ale, who feels death coming closer every day, is not sure that his daughter will ever appear.  He sends a message to MA that she will have to return to DF tomorrow, to deal with the power of attorney question. This puts a snag in her plans for island domination. She thinks about this and about her baby, whose movements she can now feel.
The doorbell rings, interrupting her daydreams. Seated on the couch, our femme fatale appears to be wearing a lovely pale pink tunic.  Only when she rises do we see the terrible fashion disaster of the shorts, with pointed edging (dagging?) on the leg hems and side seam bows peeking out under the tunic bottom. (It is hoped this ensemble is only for home use or possibly for the monkey’s amusement.)

Teo is at the door and comes in to say they are both allowed back to the casino.  Carola weakened due to Karim’s demands. The Emir also threatened to buy the ship and the casino, removing Caro from her position. Teo warns her that Karim is dangerous.  MA explains she has to go back to the city, to see Don Ale and go to a medical clinic. The worried Teo inquires about her health.
MariAle says she needs a true friend and requires this pledge before she can tell her secret.  Teo thinks about being a friend, never a lover, but decides he’ll agree.  MA says her health secret is the baby she’s expecting. Teo wonders where she’s hiding it, but she smoothes down the tunic front to reveal a baby bump. She’s married, but her husband wronged her. She hates him, wants nothing to do with him, and the baby will be hers alone. Teo offers a comforting arm around her shoulders as she leans against his side.
Odds and Ends at the End
Eduardo and Octavio have a couple of conversations. In Tav’s room, we hear Ed made up with Areceli and also has a date scheduled with two other girls—one per pilot.  Tav turns down the opportunity. He and MA III talked for hours, she’s the most beautiful woman on the island, he now knows true love.  A similar conversation takes place later in Ed’s room, with the bonus that Ed is fresh from the shower and wearing only a towel. Viewerville leans in as he dries off and puts on a shirt.
Karim is seated in the casino, obviously angry.  He earlier sent a simple, yet lavish, orchid to MA. Raiza, in a flattering grey gown with a beaded bodice and better than usual hair, goes to tell Caro she’s in big, big trouble if she can’t produce the annoying Mendoza. It seems MariAle hasn’t boarded the ship that night and Caro goes in person to try to calm the angry Emir.
MariAle, who mercifully has changed clothes, is packing for her trip to the DF.  She hopes DA can take the news of their true relationship.  She thinks of the two things she has: her child and her vengeance. She emails DA that she is traveling that day.
Raiza visits MA in the villa (just being nosy and interfering). She knows Don Ale, she wonders about their ties. MA tells her she is indeed DA’s rightful daughter, and will come back with proof to that effect.
Coming Attractions:  Repetition of MA’s assurances on the power of attorney. MA and Octavio are one the same plane back to the capital.

I hope everyone enjoyed the holiday. I've tried editing to put space between the paragraphs, but didn't succeed. Sorry about that.

I haven't been able to watch the last couple episodes since they haven't been very available online, but I did see a bit of the Simone-Lucia scene. Did we get some hint about who Simone would end up with after the big makeover that's bound to happen? I sure hope so. Miguel's capable of decency, and lord knows he could use her help. She's smarter than everyone else on that ranch put together.

kelly

Simone should end up with Octavio, she's smart enough for both of them. She should just use him for sex and put him back on the shelf until next time she wants him. He won't even realize he's being used, he's too dumb to figure it out. MariAlex needs someone totally new, someone who can match her intellect, goodness and looks. Who would it be? S. RULLI? M. CORDOVA? CdlF? J.SALINAS? Sighhh, oh well, one can dream, que no?

Excellent job Paloma!

Mastermind MariAle & the island domination - LOL :-)

So Luciafer feels unesay? Well, it's about time. I hope she's going to cringe in front of mastermind MC before long.

So we learned the Oblivio can read but still can't see the wood for the trees.

I hope Simona lands Miguel after the makover. I think she's Miguels age group and Miguel needs to ditch Luciafer and get a decent woman at his side ITA with Kelly that he's capable of decency.

BTW isn't the acterss who plays Simona was the ugly duckling in Privilegio de amar? Than means there must be like 10 years age differency with the Oblivio character, no?

kelly,

Have you tried the Univision site? Last night's episode is available there as well as the other most recent episodes. The quality is excellent.

Carlos

Master Weaver indeed. Love your little moniker La Paloma. Our little lady is channeling her inner Teresa it seems.

Not sure I really LIKE the new and improved Mari, sometimes the beyotch, looking for revenge mode is a bit much. I was a little surprised to hear Tav admit he used MC for revenge, but heck, we know these two are going to happen at some point. Question is when does Mari start to melt.

I will at this point thank Mrs. Meija for finally throwing us a bone with Ed last night. Totally missed the conversation...but who cares. I propose eliminating one of Mari's into the camera vengeance tirades, which come far too often per episode, and give us one of those moments instead.

Color me surprised as well we had not only a Simone sighting, but looks like she is proving to be one smart cookie. I can see her and Miguel at some point. Love how he just ignored the mannequin...Luciafer in panic mode is not pretty.

On to the island. Will Tav get a monkey sighting??

Paloma, thanks, this recap is a gem. My favorite line:

"Oblivio puts down his newspaper (He was reading? Really?)..."

and I also especially liked:

"This puts a snag in her plans for island domination."

Very well done.

I'm not sure which pilot is more socially inept. Well, both are guaranteeing us that this TN will go on and on and on...

I don't think it's ever a good idea to trash (or even mention) one's spouse (current or former) when chatting up a new prospect... especially when you suspect that the prospect could actually be said spouse.

I suppose that Araceli's continued interest in Eddy is solely because she has seen him without his shirt and fails to note the blinking neon LOSER sign just above those dark eyes.

Carlos

Thanks for the recap. Araceli is rivaling Octavio for stupidity. I actually think she was living under MC jacal the whole time and followed her to the isle. That is why she is more naive than Mc was.

I was very surprised that Oct said that he never loved MC. Could he be using a lot of brain cells and trying to bait MA into revealing her true identity? The same way he baited her in the casino by calling her basically a tramp?

And finally its so nice to have someone with all brain cells working back on the show! Obviously being unattractive has its upside.

Eli- I left a very late comment on your recap yesterday.

La Paloma- This recap had me giggling in many places. I could picture it all, even though I haven't see the episode yet.

Carlos- ITA. Never a good idea to shoot off your mouth about your ex to your new conquest. Unless he thought he was going to get a reaction out of her and find out once and for all if MA is really MC.

It might be a good idea for MA to put revenge, and especially seduction, on the backburner until AFTER she gives birth. That might be awkward if the object of her seduction embraces her. Karim cetrainly won't be happy when she disappears for a few months (weeks?). Too bad. So sad.

So Ed was shirtless again? Last episode he also had a few shirtless and open shirt moments. The director was listening to our demands.

It's true that Tav didn't love MC and only married her for revenge. I'm surprised and pleased that he was honest enough with himself to admit that out loud.

OK. I'm watching it right now. I can't believe Tav said to MA that Lucia is an honest woman and has no reason to lie to him. Que?! How many times has he caught her in a lie? And that's not even half the times she's lied to him. Tav needs his head examined.

Vivi., I can understand why Tav thinks he didn't love MC and yes he did marry her to get back at his loser family, but I dont believe he would be so obsessed with MA if it wasn't bec he did love MC. He just cant reconcile his feelings for MA and how badly he treated MC so he is giving himself an out by saying he never loved her.

Another winner, La Poloma. I love how you get all the details in a streamlined and hilarious recap that flows.

Lots of lines have been pointed out and I'd like to add these to the list:

...A brain cell flickers to life inside Tav’s cute cranium...

... he of the slick hair and equally slick operating system...

Ed and Tav really made me mad last night. Scumbags.

And maybe I'm in the minority...but I just love ol' Teo.

Carvivlie- I may be willing to believe that by the end of their marriage Tav was starting to feel love for her. But when he married her he didn't love her. At this point, his feelings about MC are so wrapped up in guilt and regret, that it's hard to know what his real feelings are. I think his obsession about MC is more about the guilt.

I can't believe Tav said to MA that Lucia is an honest woman and has no reason to lie to him. Que?!

Omigosh, YES!! THIS!!!

You always hit the nail right on the head, Vivi.

Sara- Now that I know Teo isn't sexually obsessed with Aracely, and that his feelings for her are more brotherly (although still a bit controlling), I like him more again. I still want to know his back story with Carola, and why she just can't quit him. I love the way he tells her and Raiza like it is.

I too am fascinated by his backstory. He is not afraid of the Consicko sisters at all!

La Paloma, Thank you for filling me in on just who Simone is. Could not figure that one out. Am picking up more and more of the language. What started as an assignment has now become a guilty pleasure. Am loving the telenova and more importantly the recaps. THANK YOU!!!

Wonderful recap La Paloma

Oblivio had his 1/2 brain cell firing on MA remark about revenge against his bro & cuñada. That 1/2 brain cell misfired when he said Luciafer was honest.

Simone is supposed to get info from Miquel?, the writers are on coke.

Simone & the inspector have the only brain cells in the TN.

The older brain cell challenged bro, has a light bulb moment.

MA is right to suspect that no one will connect her expanding girth to pregnancy, after all they haven't seen her faint.

Carlos- I thought Uni didn't put up videos for a couple days. I'll check it out though. So far it sounds like I've only missed a very crucial shirtless scene. everything else has been filled in nicely by the recappers.

MC should only need a couple weeks at the most in Mexico City to give birth, drop the five pounds she's gained, and pass the baby off to a nanny so she can get back to work saving dad's casino. She won't have any problem leaning in.

Kelly

I know this is getting old, but Ed was not only shirtless, he was wrapped in low slung towel! Octavio has yet to shed his shirt, let alone appear in a towel. I guess because Ed would win hands down.

She won't have any problem leaning in.

Hahaha!

Thanks, Paloma.
Kelly.." she won't have any problem leaning in." Teehee I guess that Mari will be even more devastatingly seductive when she is not wearing maternity clothes. Bynthe way, where were those fabulous maternity clothes when I was pregnant ?

As for people not noticing a pregnancy, when I was teaching in a high school, just before leaving on maternity leave, some students and teachers came to say goodbye and give me baby gifts. ,A boy who witnessed this scene asked me if I was "going on a trip". He had no idea that I was pregnant. I stared at him for a moment and then said, "Yes,Lenny, I am going to Europe for awhile.""

Vivi- I saw your comment, thank you!

La Paloma, I loved your recap, I almost about fainted when Octavio said Lucia was an honest woman, in what freaking universe?!

And Lucia, dude she never should have upset Simona by calling her ugly because now Simona has set something in motion that will not end well for Lucia and her ranch hand.

Thank you La Paloma---People have mentioned their favorite lines and there are several of them---that's a good sign for you. I have a couple also---"the magic of moisturizer and makeup at work" made me chuckle------I also liked
"the gullible Mareceli feels reassured and fails to see the furry wolf ears and fangs behind the taned face." I would like to add that Ed was practially drooling into the phone when he got the call last night.

I couldn't believe the Lucia wouldn't lie comment either. What?

Vivi---I agree. By the end of their mirriage Tav was starting to feel love for her.
the gringo

Maybe Daniel (Octavio) didn't work out as much as Ricardo (Eduardo) before filming started and doesn't want to show his bod just yet? If that's the case, I prefer he keep his shirt on. :-)

Oblivio is bumping into Mari more often now then when they were married. dumb bunny...what a fool believes, he sees. As you mentioned, Paloma, oh my what a little moisturizer and makeup can do !!!! superficial much, Oblivio ???

Kelly,

Whenever I've checked, Univision has had the video for a new episode up by sometime the following morning. As I said, the picture quality is quite good and both English as well as Spanish CCs are available. The only annoyance I've encountered is the presence of commercials. Clicking on the link I provided goes directly to last night's episode.

I believe the whole matter between Maricruz and Octavio could have wrapped up last night if he had told Maria Alejandra last night that he had loved Maricruz with all his hear and was devoting all his spare time in trying to locate and make up with her... How could she resist that?

Carlos

I know that Maricruz is the star of Corazon Indomable and so she will be alright in the end, but I can't get Karim out of my mind. He's going crazy with obsession. You guys know the kind---If I can't have her, then no one will, and then they start planning a murder. You read it in the papers and see it on the television all the time. I know it's just a tn but I say, watch your back Maricruz, this guy is dangerous. A male lucifer I'd say.
Lucia y Karim?
the gringo

Gringo - yes! I think Karim gives off some strange vibes, and I wouldn't put it past him to kidnap Maricruz and take off with her in his plane!

Beth
