Maricruz scores a win, Carola is a snitch, and Miguels one brain cell is working over time
Part 1 and 2 are now up. Enjoy!
Solita just can't win, she is not doing well and the doctor is going to send an ambulance for her, Don Ale and Tobias agree not to tell MC 3.0 about Solita's health issues, they don't want to worry her, after all she is also pregnant. Later we are back in Solita's room at the mansion, the doctor has run some tests and has sent her home with some medications, the results of the tests will come in later and Tobias worries that Solita is not taking care of herself because she does not understand what's going on inside her body (sad!), Don Ale tells Tobias that it's his job to make Solita understand what's happening to her, Tobi looks less that happy about this new job duty, I suggest he ask for a raise.
Isla Dorada
MC 3.0 is having a visit with Mohammed, he wants to know what Karim can do for her, she tells him there's only one thing she wants and that's to return to the casino, as she understands it she was fired at the request of Karim, Mohammed says that this is true and she replies that if he got her fired he can also get her back her job. Mohammed says that Karim was going to do just that but that he got him to abandon that idea because he thought it was her preference not to return to the casino. MC 3.0 tells him that Karim can make Carola take her back and that's all she wants, Mohammed promises to let Karim know what she's asking for. I think she should have also asked for a pony, a pink pony, that's what I would have done.
Elsewhere on the island Ed and Aracely smooch on the beach as Octavio looks on, he thought bubbles that Ed has managed to capture Aracely the same way he once captured MC, at least Ed won't be alone like he is, he has no one waiting for him at night, no one loves him or misses him, whaa my life is horrible, wahhh (I added that last bit in but I for one don't feel sorry for him at all!)
In the casino Carola tells Tony that Teobaldo is not allowed back on the boat, he is fired! It would have been awesome if she had done the Trump hand thingy. Teobaldo, who just might be having the worst day ever is off somewhere saying good bye to Aracely who promises to come back in a few weeks, it all just depends on how her cousins react to her. She gets in the taxi and off she goes. Ed and Octavio are also leaving the hotel because as Ed says "duty calls", Octavio adds "and so does your victim".
Teo arrives at the casino, he confronts Tony for selling him out and telling Carola that he allowed MC 3.0 to get to her office, Tony denies it was him and says that was all on Raiza. He also tells Teo that he is not allowed on the boat as he has been fired, Teo does not seem bothered by this at all and Tony offers to give him a good reference letter, Teo says he wont be needing another job and that if Carola calls him back to work she will have to quadruple his current salary. He just needs a month to find a new place to stay. Tony says Carola won't be happy with that and Teo tells him he does not give a flip what Carola wants.
Tony goes to Carola and tells her that Teo has been fired, she laughs and remarks that she's surprised he has not come to beg for his job back. Tony tells her he doubts Teo will ask for his job back, in fact he looked happy and all he wanted was a month to find a new place to live. Carola looks troubled and says she will only give him two days to get out and Tony tells her that Teo does not care about what she wants and that he was sure that Carola would be needing his services again, so much so that he would be asking for a huge pay raise the second she calls him back. Carola suddenly loses her smile and looks mildly worried.
At the local airport Ed meets up with Aracely and starts up with some PDA, the stewardess for the flight does not look impressed, once on the plane Ed asks her to look after Aracely, yes Ed, have your ex-girlfriend look after your new girl friend, nothing could ever go wrong with that. Once he leaves she asks Aracely if Ed is her boyfriend and she says that yes, he is, "I pity you" replies the ex and leaves Aracely looking confused and worried.
Also at the airport Karim meets up with his main man Mohammed who has news for him, MC 3.0 only has one request and that's to go back to the casino, Karim tells him that's an easy request to fulfill but just in case he wants to find out who owns the boat and how much it would cost to buy it, money is no object. He will push from another angle and it's best to have all bases covered, he also wants to go to the casino tonight. Mohammed says that the boat has probably already left for the night and Karim instructs him to call and have the helicopter pad ready for him to land, he is getting on that boat tonight!
In her room MC talks to her bump and tells it that her future is now in Karims hands.
Carola calls Don Ale to b*tch about MC, she can't stand having her around for another second, she's rude, has bad manners is a prima donna and insults her non-stop because she is under the impression that she is stealing from him. She is also bringing bad luck to the casino and causes conflicts, oh and she's also prone to making up lies, in fact, does he know that she is claiming to be his long lost daughter? She's even using her name! She's telling him all this so he can find a way to get her to return to Mexico. Oh Carola, did no one ever tell you that snitches get stitches and end up in ditches? Just saying...
In Mexico Aracely and Ed go looking for her family, when they get to the pension (hey, look, there's more than one!) they find that the girls don't live there any more and no the woman at the pension have no idea where they went. Ed, is a happy clam, and suggests that Aracely get a hotel room, heck he even says he will stay with her! Aracely says nope, it is not gonna happen and makes Ed drive around Mexico, her plans are to return to Isla Dorada tomorrow, Ed is fed up and tired and tells her there are no flights to the island but there's one going to a nearby town tomorrow and that he will go with her and return her to the island. He is not a happy pilot. Rooster blocked again. Ha.
Part 2
MC 3.0 can't sleep, she's worried about having to tell her dad who she really is! Someone send her some melatonin! Octavio is also in his room feeling sorry for himself. News flash Octavio, viewerville does not care about you or your feelings!

Karim has arrived at the casino and is meeting with Carola, he tells her that he wants her to allow MC 3.0 back to the casino. She says she can't do that, it is against the casinos best interest to have MC there, really if she could she would allow her back but she can't, too sad too bad. Karim then tells her that he really likes the boat and would like to have it for himself, Carola says there's a lease on the it and he tells her that with some money that lease can vanish. How long would it take her to move the casino out of there? Carola, tells him that would ruin her, Karim is hardly concerned. She then tells him that she's only a partner and he says he is aware of that, he knows the owner is rarely around because he is ill and is therefore very vulnerable. Carola wants to know why he is so interested in MC 3.0, she's not even nice to him, she then offers to introduce him to other women, women more beautiful than MC 3.0, and then she tries to pimp out her sister, but Karim makes it very clear that he only wants MC 3.0 and he is not going to explain to her why he wants her, that's his business and no one else's. She has been warned, either allow MC 3.0 back on the casino or get used to the idea that she won't be behind her desk for much longer. Take that Carola!
In Mexico our dear Tobias is looking after Solita, he tries to tell her that she is with child but she just looks confused, finally he gets a brilliant idea and goes to get a book with pictures of pregnant women, he shows her these pictures and Solita finally gets it, she is going to be a mommy! Tobias runs to inform Don Ale that he has gotten Solita to understand what's going on and in the process interrupts Don Ale who was sending an email asking MC 3.0 to return to Mexico. Don Ale wants her back in Mexico, especially as her due date gets closer.
In Isla Dorada Aracely makes it back to Teo who is doing some sort of paper work, I'm going out on a limb here but I think he might be the thief of Isla Dorada. She cries to Teo and tells him her cousins were gone and that's why she is sad.
Carola goes to visit MC 3.0, she tells her she is there to ask her to return to the casino, beg if necessary. MC 3.0 is pleased by the turn of events but Carola makes it clear that now she will have two enemies, her and Karim. MC 3.0 says that may be true but that Karim won't be able to crush her like he did Carola, Carola says she's just a weak woman and MC tells her she is only weak when faced with a strong opponent but harsh with those she considers to be beneath her. And yes, she will return to the casino but only to look after the best interests of Don Ale (side note, MC 3.0 looks beautiful in those colors!)
We now take a trip back to the Narvaez ranch where the mail has arrived, Miguel looks through it to see if Octavio has sent him a letter but nope, no luck. He does find a letter from Scar, I mean Ester and he and Ofelia talk about how rare it was for her to not have made contact with them for so long, and how surprising it was for her not to show up for the birth of little Satan, I mean the Narvaez baby, yeah that's what I meant. Miguel tells Ofelia to take the mail to Lucia.
Once she leaves Miguel starts to talk to himself, he feels so terrible and guilty about what he did to his brother and then folks his brain cell goes into over drive, what if Lucia did have something to do with what happened to MC 3.0 and to Don Ramiro? No, he can't think about that, it can't possibly be true. Viwerville shouts: "it is true you fool! Your wife was directly responsible for the death of a little old man who just wanted to hang out in his hut and wear his little yellow shirt, you are married to Satan!".
Ofelia then goes to see Satan, I mean Lucia and tells her that Miguel looks like he is dying to hear from Octavio, Lucia tells her not to exaggerate, the brothers hardly like each other and Octavio has only been to the ranch a few times and all they did during those visits was fight. Ofelia then makes a mistake and tells Lucia that she is worried about Miguel's attitude, it seems like he is starting to suspect. "Suspect what Ofelia?!" "Nothing, that's not what I meant to say..." "Keep your opinions to yourself, you are inferior to me, your job is not to warn me about anything and if you step out of line I'll throw you out". Ofelia looks like a deer caught in the headlights and runs out, and she took the mail with her! After she leaves Lucia wonders how much she knows about what happened and she worries that Miguel might actually catch a clue, but she says "everything I did was for my family". Yes, because an old man, a deaf mute girl and a teenager with no education were a real threat to your family you crazy b*tch. Ugh!!!
In Isla Dorada both MC and Octavio makes plans to go to the beach, they bump into each other and he again questions why she is so rude to him, she tells him that's just her personality. Trying to win points with her he offers to tell him about his love story and she says she doubts it was a love story, it was probably a story full of lies and deception!
My DVR did cut off the advances but I think it involves more time at the beach with MC 3.0 and Octavio.
My sisters take on this telenovela: "my favorite character is the monkey" and I don't think she meant Octavio.

The whole casino embezzlement plot is getting on my nerves. I'm starting to sympathize with Carola, because she's the only character who is written to act in a (mostly) consistent and rational way. She's embezzling, and she's acting rationally for someone who's stealing from her business partner. Good for her. She greeted MC nicely when she arrived and treated her well until it became clear that MC was going to be a problem. Then she started doing her best to get rid of MC, one way or another. Since Don Ale is apparently stupid enough to be convinced by "you know I'm not robbing you," she tells him that.
On the other hand, we've got MC obsessed with trying to protect her father from his business partner at ONE of his casinos stealing from him--even if it means spending time away from him (and remember that he's seriously ill) when she's just found him, not to mention causing him dangerous stress by insisting on focusing on this business deal gone bad rather than just letting him cut his losses and forget about it. And now she's even willing to risk his life by telling him her identity--not in order that they can build their relationship and love each other as father and daughter, but so that he'll give her a power of attorney to deal with this one business matter among his apparently vast holdings.
And then we've got Don Ale, who is willing to let MC go off to investigate the floating casino, even though he cares for her and wants her around (and knows Solita needs her), but appears to be sure Carola is not robbing him. What's the deal? Either he respects MC's quickly gained business expertise and good sense and is willing to take her investigation and her conclusions seriously OR he's only humoring her well-intentioned but foolish bumblings and should be concerned about her possibly screwing up the casino's business and offending a long-time loyal business partner. Which one is it?

After seeing the changuito (monkey) all over Solita as she was recovering and getting the "baby show & tell" from Tobias, I can't help asking: What will happen to the changuito when both of the babies arrive? Will he be crawling all over them too?

Really tough to beat Oblivio. Probably best to start with Mejia novelas.
FELS was the worst novela & although the Reyes hermanos were ridiculous at times they were mental giants next to Oblivio.

Variopinta- CME was fab. But the heroine was so great and so genuine that the galan's insistence on believing she was evil and continuing with his revenge scheme during the first quarter of the tn was hard to take. We women forgave him, but Carlos never did.
I vote for Rod in Refugio too. Or maybe the other galan Gabe Soto played in Querida Enemiga. He rightly lost the heroine in the end.

Although Dopey really didn't plan that out very well, did he? But after all, this is a guy who wears white shoes and white belt.
I'm glad that Solita now knows that she is pregnant. I thought Maricruz had successfully communicated that fact to her some time back. Oh well, better late than a huge surprise even later.

Thanks Eli--didn't get too much dialog last night with my son home wanting to watch with me, and chat. The chatting kept winning. So appreciate the recap.
Will someone PLEASE give Solita the same chance at a nice hairdo and clothes that MC got. I'm getting down-right miffed right now. But I like that Tobias has such affection for her.
The one scene in all telenovas that always cracks me up is the
stare into camera and talk to yourself" scenes. I know it moves the plot along so we know what the characters are thinking, but sometimes it's just so cheesy and over dramatic. Frankly, MC seems to have the same dialog with herself and sorry, but it's getting OLD! We get it, move the plot.
Poor Are, methinks she has some maturing to do before she hooks up with anyone. The first guy who even looks her way, and she is planning the wedding. And when he turns out to me pretty much like the majority of guys his age, she's all bummed. A more mature woman might have been able to handle things better. She and Ed may get together later...but I think later is the operative here.
I have to say one thing for Carola...that woman WORKS. Have to hand it to her, she puts in the hours ( even if part of it is slipping a few dollars to herself.)

Oh, and my vote for dumbest galan AFTER Tav...I still go with Rod the Bod from Refugio. He couldn't see the forest for the trees for a good portion of that TN. Patricio should have lived and won the girl. That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it!!

Thanks Eli! Lets see if Octavio is able to make any progress with MA tonight. I must say that everyone is very persistent in trying to get what they want, MA, Carola, Emir, Ed and Ocblivious. When is someone going to throw their hands up and say "I give up"? Oh well, I guess I'm just looking for closure on at least one front.

I can understand where Aracely was coming from. A hundred years ago, when I was in college, I didn't make it bad to the girls dorm before it was locked up for the night. So my date said I could spend the night at his place. I didn't like that idea so much, so I threw rocks at a window until my roommate woke up and let me in.
Of course, that was a long, long time ago ... and my date didn't look like Ed.

So the pilots on the Isla Dorado flight have been hungover, talking and not paying attention (although I believe they set the autopilot), and now Ed flies without getting any sleep the night before.
Loved the recap eli, very snarky! just one question, why did you call esther Scar?
My vote for the dumbest galan would have to be the role gabriel soto played in querida enemiga. Was super glad the he didn't end up with the girl.
I like how Arecely stuck to her guns and didnt do anything she wasn't comfortable with. I think she's smarter and stronger than MC and teo give her credit for.

Aleta, I thought the same thing about their job performance, its just an accident waiting to happen. I really hope though that the writers don't use a plane crash as a future plot. Though since they're pilots I feel like I'm hoping for too much.
