Caray, Caray!

Hi all,

A lot of silliness in this episode. It seemed disjointed but I guess that it will come together at some point. I can't stop laughing at Chatita and Susana fighting over Panfilo. I love it.
I still think that as much as Uri keeps wanting to hurt Jesus, Jesus will somehow win him over and he will turn on Rogue.
 

TJ thanks for your recap. I too enjoyed Chatita and Susana fighting over Panfilo and him being speechless. And then Mari laughing at it all. One of the better parts of the episode.

And I'm w/you on professional liars Paty and Rogue. Chucho shouldn't get involved w/Paty and how is she going to explain her pregnancy to her "best friend." She should have jumped on Uri and learn what love really is.

The writers should stop having the Sillies hang out together as their antics are immature and sexist and at this point tiresome (they plunked my last nerve this evening). The fact that Gil is the most successful of the three only amplifies the idiocy of the plot.

So I guess Discua's not coming back? Regardless, I want Ferny to find out what a rat his brother is.
Though like Eli and Mari, I am not a fan of Fern and Xochi.

Thanks for this most marvelous recap. I too am enjoying Panfilo as the AARP babe magnet, lol. Chatita and Susanna so funny fighting over Panfilo.

I like Xochi and Ferny together. They are alike in a way, bad brother, bad mother, they are like two lost souls. I hope they get together and stay together, they are a hoot. Ferny was actually tentative with Xochi as she was with him. I was expecting that wristlock again, but meh, not so much. Hmmmm....

I think Patymelt is having some guilt over what she did to Alma. She just can't see how much she hurt Alma. Patymelt really seems riddled with guilt. I'll have to wait and see I guess.

Now Rogue, I don't trust. He is an idiot and I hope he gets caught with this latest plan. Surprisingly Vero wasn't up with his plan either.

I am glad that Valentina is getting back to herself. I just want Marta to be caught and soon.

I too think maybe Ury and Jesus will have some type of talk and Jesus will win him over. Noone can stay mad at Chucho for a long time.

I had to laugh at Maricela and Susanna confronting Xochi when she came out of Ferny' office and they did that mehaha noise together, lol.

Can't wait for tonight to see what happens!


 

I too, would like to see Disqua return even if it's only to clear her name of the fraud accusations that Rogelio had printed in the newspaper. I liked her character and I liked the relationship between her and Fernando.

At this point I can see Maricela and Elias together, but it's probably not to be. Who would the Ice Queen end up with? I have a feeling that somehow Vero and Elias will patch things up in the end. Though Lord knows he deserves better...

I agree with you all about how funny it was to see Chatita and Susana fighting over Panfilo. I especially liked when Chatita told him to make a choice at the end of the scene. How will he finesse his way out of that one?

I think Xochi and Fernando will be good together. I liked when she told him that he was better than his brother Rogelio and his reaction.

Anyway, on to the next episode!

Karen- I'm not sure where I stand with Xochy and Fern. At this point she is a better choice for him because she is making him look deeper into himself. I feel bad for Julio and not that long ago Xochy was madly in love with Jesus. I think that right now, due to her shyness transformation as Natasha, I think that Natasha loves Ferny but Xochy just likes the attention. I guess that they both have to look deeper into themselves.

"doesn’t anyone have to go to work?" Took the words right out of my head when the sillies walked into the hospital room. Love how these people can just come and go. A time and efficiency expert would have a field day with this gang.

" Panfilo, you are the man!!!!!" Like everyone else, I loved this interplay. Poor Panfilo looked absolutely lost, Mari was ready to lose it with laughter, and I swear I thought Chatita was going to deck Susuanna. It was wonderful...also loved how it rather mimicked the antics of Pati and Vero. Love and jealousy are ageless!

Wanna bet that Alma forgives Pati? Somehow I see that coming. And now we deal with delusional Rog who thinks that by bumping off the competition he can win back the girl. He and Vero really are a better match.

Poor little Val, but I do appreciate the writers being realistic on how she is affected now. Had me worried the day before. I think she is savvy enough to know that her mom is all about, well, her mom. yes she loves her, but for someone who will be THERE, as Chucho was sitting right next to her as she slept ( and he doesn't need a stinking book) nope she needs her Dads for that. Such a sorrowful lesson to have learned so early.

Yes, deep six the sillies as a joined at the hip group. And, yes, I take my seat at the Xochi/Ferny table on the patio.

Mads- I was just about to mention the song title. :)

TJ- Very fun recap. Vero doesn't seem to realize that her and Rogue's ideas for how best to break up Jesus and Alma aren't compatible. She won't have Jesus, if he's DEAD (or gravely injured). She should be wondering why Rogue is refusing to tell her exactly what his plan is.

I like Fern and Xochi. I'm interested to see where this goes. It might not work out in the end, but I think it will be fun to watch a relationship between these two evolve. I want him to stop calling her Fea though, and I like it better when she is firm with him and doesn't take his crap.
 

Vivi- I'm not sure that Vero has a clue about Rogue's plan enough though she should read between the lines of what he is saying. She's not that insightful.
 

TJ- ITA that Vero has no clue what Rogue is planning. So true that she's not insightful, otherwise she would be putting a few things together and would be worried. Let's see...Rogue is a criminal; Rogue HATES Jesus with a passion; and Rogue dances around telling her exactly how he plans to end Jesus-Alma. Hmmmm...

I still hold out hope that what Yuri had delivered was a guitar of some kind, and that he just plans to ruin Jesus's hearing by playing really bad and loud music for Jesus. :)
 

What fun TJ. Interesting developments at last.

I still hope Fern & Xochi don't end up together but I like where this is going now. They are good for each other & will both be stronger as a result of this liaison. Still I want Xochi to end up with Julio. Does anyone remember how they kept us hanging until the end of Gancho as this actor (in a very nerdy persona) and a hunkier galan were both in the running to end up with our favorite fresa Ximena? I was so pulling for the neat freak nerd -- but he lost out to the hunky race car driver. I hope that this time his cute curls win out & Julio gets the girl.

I too think that Vero hasn't a clue that Rogue's idea of breaking up Alma & Jésus involves breaking Jésus' face. The previews do show a bit of canoodling between Rogue & Vero. They should be good together. Paty needs to look around and begin to appreciate her photographer/ therapist, He's cute & good for her.

I'm off to the beach with a bunch of family. Last year there was no Univision and a poor wi-fi connection. Sure hope the VCR works right. Then again now that Unvision is the number 1 network -- maybe they're carrying it in the Outer Banks this year. (Like I could get the family to let me watch TNs on the only TV.)

TJ, thanks a million for your superb and detailed recap. Another episode where a lot of stuff happened, wow. Great title, how very appropriate.

I was relieved, in a way, that they showed Val having a nightmare because that is realistic, unlike practically everything else in this TN.

Güera, have a GREAT vacation! Yes I do remember Julio's character in Gancho losing out to the hunk. I really hope he ends up with the girl in this one. He seems a lot more fun than Fer, however Fer is starting to relax more these days. And they can both dance. Gosh it's a toss-up.

I'm with those of you who are tired of the sillies. They are a waste of space when they are together.

So the previews show Rogue and Vero hooking up, eh? If Paty finds out the fur is going to fly!
 

Vivi, you're a wonderful optimist! Something tells me that Yuri will either fail, or maybe (?)he spills something to the chicka who then tells her BF Ferny, who then warns Chucho...I'm not an optimist normally, but frankly I don't want Val to have to deal with one of her dads getting attacked or hurt. Chucho needs to get those persuasion skills going or Teflon shield up. That girl can only take so much writers!

As for Vero, wondered if she also knows that Rog is really good at pointing fingers at others ( ahem!his own brother) to save his skin. She needs to think how she would look in orange and salivating at Chucho with bars between them. Oh wait, did I say "think"....silly me.

Only saw part of this but was a little alarmed when I thought Chucho was encouraging Alma to grant our trampy chica instant forgiveness, but whew! they both acknowledged that the betrayal was too great--and too recently discovered!--for forgiveness to happen at this point. Hey, I say give Alma a year or so. And then forgive...but don't forget. Now that you know Pati's character, keep that in mind, Miss Alma.

Would never have thought of Xochi and Fernando in a million years...but I'm kind of liking it. And Julio is a doll so perhaps one of these random girls that Cardenas was castigating last night can be Julio's new love interest. We've never seen those two secretaries before have we? Really a lot of random scenes in this telenovela.

Doña Sue has certainly moved on quickly after losing her husband hasn't she? Had a flirtatious friend (a bit like Pati, come to think of it...hmmmm) about whom we always joked "that she'd bring a date to her husband's funeral." He hasn't passed yet, so we can't say for sure, but with her, it's entirely possible. Anyway, I would never, in a million years, go up against Chatita. That woman is a force of nature!

Thanks, TJ. I didn't see this, but now I really want to. Especially if they used the original opening again. I wonder why they did that?

I can't picture Susana and Chatita squaring off over Panfilo; that must have been a riot. So, super-enlightened wisdomful Chatita is being shrill and possessive? Interesting! Well, she always tells people to fight for the love that they want!

I like that Alma tried to get Rogue to think about Paty. I actually do think that Paty is sincere about wanting to keep Alma's friendship, but she is tragically unfamiliar with the concept of EARNING and being WORTHY of good things. Including friendship. Pity her child!

It sounds like Sanson is the star of this episode.

Madelaine, I like your theory about Chucho befriending Yuri all over again. I wouldn't put money on it, but I still like it. What a nightmare that would be for Rogue!
 

Loved how Chatita was rolling up her sleeves in preparation to deck Susana. That scene was a hoot.

Loved how Jesus said that stupid name the Xochi had for him, as she went running into Fern’s office.

I like Fern and Xochi together. But I also like Fern and Discua and Xochi and Julio together. If it’s Fern and Xochi, then they need to introduce someone for poor Julio (one of the random assistants from last night, as JudyB mentioned).

I’m in the minority, but I think Paty is sincere.

I’m also one who thinks that Elias will end up with Vero at the end. She sometimes shows signs of improvement (though for every step forward, she takes three GIANT steps back). We do have quite a few more eps for her to redeem herself.

Does anyone think the hook-up between Rog and Vero may be a clueless attempt to make Alma and Jesus jealous?

Nanette, I'm pretty sure Paty thinks she's sincere. Unfortunately she's not very good at viewing herself objectively and doesn't seem to get that she is extremely untrustworthy on numerous levels. Nevertheless she is one of the most entertaining characters in this show. I hope things turn out well for her even though she is a kleptomaniac, a gold-digger, a cheater and a liar, to name just a few from the long list.

I agree that Elias and Vero will likely end up together; it would be best for Valentina if her mother has a caretaker of some sort.

Sylvia: I agree that Paty is a mess. She really doesn't know how to be a good friend, etc. But there is a part of her that knows that Alma was the one good, true thing in her life and she's desparate to get that back. Does she deserve it? No. Will she take it for granted if she gets her back in her life? Yes. But just like Rog loves Alma--as much as a person like him can love, Paty loves Alma, too. As much as she's capable of.

Vivi- you have such sharp perceptions- we are all assuming that its a shot gun and it could be something else. Are you a novela writer on the down low?? ;-). To me Uri is all talk.

Julie reminded me about that job offer. Really left field is right. But there were some decent actors in that plot line and it surprised me at the time when Chucho moved on and then we didn't see those folks anymore. I liked the secretary that Chucho defended especially. And the gent last night who was recruiting Chucho is no bit part character himself. ( the irascible Don Aquiles in Refugio.) I wouldn't mind a return visit to Orion. ( And no pink for Chucho!! Yeah, bring on the suits again.)
If Chucho turns that job down he's nuts. This is his chance to better himself, and raise his wages for Val's sake as well. To be honest, as a former HR manager, the fact that Chucho is reporting to a woman he is dating makes me cringe. He should be off somewhere doing his own thing at this point. Or maybe the companies can merge and we get everyone all together.

I'm really curious about Uri's "plan". Rogue did make it clear that he wants Chucho's alma destroyed, not to hurt him physically. I wonder if Uri will confuse that and assume to hurt Alma. Regardless, Uri's giant belt buckle that says UP is hilarious. Too bad his initials aren't EW or UG.

Fernie and Xochi...hmmm...I'm not totally opposed, but I do worry that there's something wrong with her after of lifetime of dealing with her horrible mother, that she'd be attracted to someone who insults her all the time. Maybe if he really shapes up. And Julio needs to find someone nice...someone who will keep him away from the other two in the gang of idiots. I like them individually, but together they are awful.

I wonder why Paticakes hasn't gotten pregnant yet. In real life it would be normal for it to take that long, but in a telenovela, there must be some reason she mentioned it. Is she infertile, or is Rogue? Or are the two of them both so identically negative that their gametes repel each other like same poles of a magnet?

This week was the first opportunity Paty's had to be with Rogue in a long while. It's possible that Paty only just now stopped taking precautions. I think she got the idea after talking to Vero (or talking to someone about Vero) that having a kid with someone forces that person to be in your life forever. (I could be wrong; someone on GH is doing that too, but I thought Paty got the same idea from Vero.)

Since we've already heard that Elias is infertile, it would be kind of weird if Rogue and/or Paty turned out to be infertile too. But since when is "weird" a problem for TNs?
 

I thought Pati told Renato that she'd quit taking precautions a few months ago, and was surprised she wasn't pregnant already.
 

Julia- she did mention that to Renato. That she hadn't taken any precautions in awhile. Maybe she can't have children. Hmmm- does karma strike again?
 

Argh, I didn't know that. But I bet it's more likely Rogue who's sterile, if it's either of them. He's the one who's always talking about having children (with Alma's exquisite DNA, of course)!
 

After the couple of surprises we had last night this show could take us anywhere. Just when I think it's absolutely predictable something pops up to surprise me. I also have the feeling that that it might be Rogue who can't have kids. Maybe Paty will have better luck with another partner.

daisynjay, I know what you mean about the HR perspective. That stuff drives me nuts too.
 

I imagine pretty much EVERYTHING we see in this so-called office would give a real HR manager nightmares!
