PEAM #99-7/26/13: Is This Love That I'm Feeling, Is This Love That I've Been Searching For?
Hola PEAM Peeps! This recap will not be in order and some scenes have been combined for a better flowing recap.
We got a lot of refrito last night, you know the Vero/Rogue planning, Chucho and Alma talking about Rogue and how Chucho isn't buying what Rogue is selling, Chatita in her best fighting stance, telling Panfilo since he is the AARP babe magnet (Thanks TJ) he has to make a choice, it's either her or Susanna, make a pick already Dude! Also the Cantu cutting off Rogue's monitoring device and Alma telling Chucho about her Snappy Pappy running off to the States and the Patymelt betrayal and then smoochies! The only one working at Avon is Cardenas (Cardy). Oh, and after Chatita makes that demand of Panfilo, she loses her train of thought then kinda remembers and tells Panfilo to make that decsion and she goes.
The Elevator Klatch:
Ivonne is at least kinda, sorta working, when two of her friends come by. Ivonne it seems is no longer performing for the desiring public, nah, for the public and she is only performing for one person, Ya don't say! Here comes Cardy and the two other sillies and Julio isn't happy and neither is Ricardo when he sees Elias come off the elevator about two seconds later. Cardy gives Ivonne what for, Ricardo follows Elias, and Julio goes his way, past Xochi and he totally ignores her. Ricardo has followed Elias, who stops by to see Mari, who asks after Val and gives Elias a hug, they get interrrupted by Ricardo, who wants a word with Elias, and Mari freaks, with me so far? Elias and Ricardo go off and Ricardo wants to know if Elias is into Mari? Of course he is, well Ricardo isn't happy and says well we'll fight for her and may the best man win, hmmmmm........ Elias goes. Cardy wants to talk to Alma and Ferny wants to talk to Encanto so Cardy goes to see Alma and Chucho goes to Ferny' s office.
Office Talk:
Cardy talks to Alma about Julio and Xochi being on the outs and Begonia leaving Don Gil, who is all alone, pobrecito! Ferny is a mite confused. He wants to be a friend to Chucho, sorta like Elias is with Chucho. Well Ferny has something he is dying to tell Chucho, so tell it Ferny! Seems he kissed a girl and he liked it, well he kissed Xochi! Que, Que What from Chucho! Chucho wants to know if Ferny knows the difference between 'Tasha and Xochi, of course Ferny does. Well then there isn't anything wrong with that from Chucho as long as Ferny realizes that 'Tasha is Xochi! Later, Chucho wants to surprise Chatita with something and Alma will help him, as she always does. Chucho and Alma also talk about the position at Orion that Augusto talked to Chucho about. Alma and Chucho leave Avon to take care of that surprise. After that little confrontation with Ricardo, Elias comes by to talk to Mari about that Avon DVD and he tells Mari what happened with Ricardo and that yes, Elias is into Mari. She is sooooo happy, which begs the question, what time is it? Time for Rico Suave (Ricardo) to find someone else!
Meantime, Susanna talks to Xochi about Ferny. What exactly is up with that, and she wants Xochi to be careful. Xochi has some feelings for Ferny! Could this be love????
Julio is whining that Xochi doesn't love him when he gets called by Ferny. Rico Suave tries to tell Ferny that Julio is in the head (bathroom in Navy speak) but Ferny says he wants to see Julio in his office, sooner rather than later. Julio is bummed as is Rico Suave over the whole Mari thingy. Julio goes to Ferny's office, while Jess wants to know what is going on. Rico Suave tells Jess that Xochi and Julio are done!
Xochi and Susanna talk some more about Ferny. Susanna warns her about the previous secretaries he messed with, ya know Discua, Jess, and the list goes on. Xochi states the case that with Julio it wasn't the same as it is with Ferny! It's love with Ferny! I answered my own question! Who knew! Xochi smiles!
Meantime we have the Ferny thinking about the Xochi kiss and he smiles. Julio comes in and the smile fades. Julio bitches to Ferny that he stole his Xochi from him. Ferny begs to differ and says that he didn't steal Xochi from Julio and besides he doesn't feel guilty! They are yelling at each other so loudly the secretaries can hear. Xochi marches right into Ferny's office to see what the heck is going on there. Julio tells Xochi he realizes she doesn't love him, no worries, and goes. Xochi talks to Ferny, who only wants a kiss, but she isn't having it! She isn't like the other secretaries he's had before. No funny stuff at work y punto!
Julio goes back to his work area and gets chewed out by Cardy, who tells him work is work and you can't be bringing your personal bidness into work! Julio can't beleive the gossip in this place. Cardy tells him Ferny is his boss and he has to respect that. Well, Julio ain't respecting no Ferny and goes. I don't know if he quit or Cardy fired him, someone comment. Julio ends up leaving cause he just can't take it anymore. Rico Suave tries to talk him out of it to no avail. Jess just can't beleive who Ferny is into. 'Tasha she can see, Xochi, meh, not so much!
At Genoveva's
Chatita has come for some advice about that AARP babe magnet Panfilo. I didn't get what Genoveva told Chatita, but I know at one point Chatita was confused and thought they were talking about her dead hubby. Anyhoo, I think Chatita is going to follow Genoveva's advice.
Vero and Rogue Partay:
Rogue and Vero are going off and Cantu is pithed that Rogue didn't even thank him for all his hard work, getting him released ya know. Sanson of course, barks at Cantu.
Now Rogue and Vero are in a bar drinking and dancing, wa hoooo! Rogue is so over the moon he is free, he kisses Vero, who knew! And she must be likin' it, cause she sure ain't pushing him away.
It's Rogue Time! He is dancing and kinda, sorta stripping and I tell you, Rogue can swivel those hips too. He even sheds his jacket. Vero is loving what she is seeing. The whole bar dances to the show's theme, the really upbeat one!
After this dance, Rogue and Vero are sitting down and drinking and Rogue's phone rings, it's Paty of course. He doesn't answer and Vero figures out that it's Paty. Rogue is so happy, he buys the whole bar drinks!
The Patymelt Meltdown and the Pregnancy Mis Planes:
Rogue has just left and Patymelt has come to see her Roguey Pooh. Seems he is not at home and Cantu informs her not only is Rogue now free, but he went off with Vero, shut your mouth, from Paty as she turns beet red and smoke is coming out of her ears. Of course, as I stated above, Paty calls Roguey Pooh, and of course he isn't answering. More beet red face and more smoke from the ears! Cantu has a good yuck! Later, Patymelt is looking up all kinds of preggers stuff on her laptop, like the best time to get preggers, etc. Cantu comes in and wants to know what she is lookin' at. She thought bubbles how much she can't stand this idiot and he's thinking what a bon bon she is!
What is Yuri Up To?
Malvino gives Yuri a file of photos of Chucho with basically everything he does in his daily life in that folder. We get the Picadillo rant again.
At Chatia's With Chucho, Alma, Ray and Valentina:
Now we know what the surprise is that Chucho and Alma had for Chatita. They have loaded her fridge with all kinds of food. It's a payback for all the wonderful meals she has given Chucho and Valentina. Awww....Chucho thanks Alma for going with him and to the Doc with he and Val and smoochies.
Ray and Valentina are doing homework and talking. Ray is telling her about how hard it is for a female to defend herself, her Moms couldn't and when Chucho overhears this, he wants to know what she is talking about, so Ray packs up her stuff, doesn't answer and goes. Val I think mentions Ray doesn't have her Moms and her Dad she didn't know.
Later Chatita comes home, everyone is gone and she is thinking about what Genoveva told her and opens that fridge and sees it is stock full of wonderful things. Chatita, I think, is wondering how all of that stuff got there. It's a miracle! She wonders if she bought this and just forgot. Why didn't Alma and Chucho leave a note?
Chucho and Alma At Chuckie Cheese:
Chucho and Valentina have brought Valentina to a Chuckie Cheese type place where Valentina is happily bouncing up and down in that ball filled bouncy cage thingy, while Alma and Chucho are having an adult conversation. They are talking about that Orion job offer. Alma feels it would be a great step up for him, all those bennies, and he just doesn't wanna take that job. He'd rather stay at Avon, cause Alma was the first one to give him a job and he likes working for her. He is leery about Orion, especially after what happened there before, ya know, the underhanded thingy! He'll think about it though.
Elias and Vero and the Jealousy Question:
Elias has arrived home and sees Rogue dropping Vero off. Elias wants to know what Vero was doing with Rogue. Vero says there is nothing wrong with her hanging out with Rogue. Elias just doesn't get why she is hanging out with him and now he thinks she is up to something with bad Rogue. She thinks Elias is just jealous, but Elias begs to differ. He is here to talk about their divorce, nothing more.
Do You See What Rogue Sees?
We are back at Avon with Chucho, Alma and Valentina by the elevators. Alma is doing something special with Chucho this evening, it's a surprise. Alma and Chucho laugh. Valentina brings up the Queen and Helper story. Alma and Chucho kiss, right by those elevators and Rogue just happens to be stepping off of them, cause he wants his old job back, he sees Alma and Chucho smooching and is cara de impacatda de Rogue! End of epi!

Fussin' fightin' and flirtin. What a night! You're recap is great Madeleine and really describe fantastically all the craziness that went on.
Now I know we have felt sorry for Julio, but hello! calling the kettle black aren't we? Not so great when you are the target and receiving end of the gossip is it Julio? I so hope this is the end of the sillies.( Although now we have those two annoying girls showing up. WTH with those two?) I had to agree with Cardy, that rant had no place at the office since it was totally about goings on outside of work--which is a whole 'nother HR topic with this TN. I was fuzzy on whether Julio quit or not. I don't think Cardy fired him. I'm not that good on dialog, but I thought that was more like a warning.
Love Xochi sticking up for herself, and putting Ferny on notice that she will not be another peg in his post. I'm liking watching these two.
I can't even on Pati's internet research. Meanwhile Rog seems to have his eye somewhere else.(Vero needs to update some of her dance moves). Gees, Erick sure can nail that "leer-look". And that kiss with Vero--uh, hotter than anything I remember him doing with Alma. Just sayin'.
So we get Alma's surprise next week. Let's see how the Univision editors hit the scissors on this one.

Great recap Mads, and I'm in awe of all you do for CarayCaray...seems like every other recap written is by your enthusiastic hand.
Daisynjay, had to laugh when you said Vero needed to update her dance moves. Actually when she first started dancing with Rogelio, I was totally impressed (but then again, I haven't updated my dance moves since the 60's). She did look stiff later on when he was up on the table...but before, when she was grooving with him, thought she was terrific. Better than her yoga poses even.
As for Rogelio, now I totally understand why folks are so hot for this actor. Absolutely fabulous scene last night. Delightful comedy. And hawt, hawt, hawt.
Also enjoyed Chatita's consternation at finding the fridge full of food and thinking she was in the wrong house. Pobrecita.
On her conversation with Cardy's mom, what I got was the advice to quit fighting WITH Susanna but rather fight FOR Pánfilo. You know, the old "luchar por su amor" bit. And the observation that you don't know what you've got until you lose it.
Is it just me, or does his mom have a rather strange accent? Something seems a bit "off" or different.

I just caught an episode of the new show "Devious Maids" On Demand (it's a Lifetime show), and Jaime Camil just popped up! Speaking English! He's the husband of one of the maids (a cast of well known Latina tv actresses). It was so weird hearing him speak English. The show is cute. I've been catching it On Demand. Black comedy and murder mystery, like Desperate Housewives.
I just caught an episode of the new show "Devious Maids" On Demand (it's a Lifetime show), and Jaime Camil just popped up! Speaking English! He's the husband of one of the maids (a cast of well known Latina tv actresses). It was so weird hearing him speak English. The show is cute. I've been catching it On Demand. Black comedy and murder mystery, like Desperate Housewives.

Wow, what a GREAT recap! Mads, thanks for taking us on such a fun ride from beginning to end. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. I also enjoyed the episode, mainly because of Rogue's antics. His dancing was hilarious, so funny that even Vero couldn't keep a straight face. Have we ever seen her have so much fun?

Hey, I think we would all be slightly challenged with some of today's moves (though I can still do a somewhat mean salsa), but her arm chop movement was the one that made me chuckle. That was like disco era.

Cardy is one of the few who takes his job seriously. He didn't fire Julio, I believe that he was going to get written up,(an administrative memo). He left and should have been fired for acting inappropriately to his supervisor.
Uri's picadillo rant makes me feel like the beet red Paty with steam coming out of my ears!!!!! Enough already!!!

Mads, You are indeed deserving of the crown and banner proclaiming you SuperRecapperExtraordinaire! What energy you have, it is a gift to this Caray2 blog. I'm glad more characters are having fun and especially Chucho and Alma being openly together.
Cheryl - yes, I love the fact that instead of feeling like a "cornuda" in front of the staff, since they all know about Rogelio and Patricia, Alma has moved on and is openly enjoying her relationship with Jesus. What, me married? Pshh! Details, details. Love it!

I like the way Alma has been running Avon while Rogue has been gone and Ferny actually working. I don't want Ferny to backslide and do nothing again. Maybe this time away from Avon, will have changed Ferny for the better.

I think Fern is trying to subsitute Xochi in his heart for Discua. They are both upstanding women who won't/wouldn't let him get by with anything. I believe his heart is still Discua's.
