Qué Bonito Amor #68 (Mex 101.2-102) Wednesday 7/17/13 Fer loses girl, Susie defends girl, Aventurero gets girl – I think.

                     Ana kisses Fer adios!
Santos tells his Bonita that he plans to give himself in and she doesn't agree, of course.  She suggests he wait til his father proves his innocence.  They have a moment when they both feel some queasiness and laugh when theY both realize they're having morning sickness....yeah, right. Haha.
Ana cries alone and confesses to ???  that she knows Fer doesn't love her.  Boohoo
Fer goes to Colosso and explains he regrets how their friendship has suffered lately. Colosso blames it on Jantos.  Fer refuses to lose the friendships of the only family he knows: Colosso, Jantos, and Maria.  He tells Colosso not to think himself the center of the universe.  When Colosso needed a friend, he, Fer, was always there to lend an ear.  Colosso convinces him to let it out.  After Fer has apparently bared his soul, Colosso figures they've both been victims of El Pochito.  Because of  Jantos, his chiquita doesn't love him, and Ana has left Fer because he doesn't love her they way Jantos loves Maria!  Go figure. Fer suggests they stop arguing over Jantos.  He's tired of hearing all their bitching!  They agree not to ever argue about Jantos again.
Irasema is crouched at her place, drowning in her own tears.  Unfortunately, the bane of her existence, Fabian, decides to pay a call.  He wants her to pack her bags and come back to his stable. She refuses to go back to that life.  “Women like you never change.”  He tries to force her and she struggles against him.  “You promised to help me and you only deceived me!”  She refuses to go with him.  He tries to force her and Super Susie busts in just in the nick of time.  She tells her hero that Fabian was the cause of her own personal hell. Fabian and Susie start duking it out but Fabian is no match for Susie and eventually runs away.  Susie swears he's gonna after him and Irasema begs him not to.
Maria wants Jantos to tell her who wants to kill him.  He tells her it's OJ and she remembers meeting him at Ruben's office.  They both try to figure out what he was doing at Ruben's office. Jantos also wants to know what she was doing there?  Maria offers to go talk to Ruben.  She can ask him in a way that won't be suspicious.  Amalia walks in as Jantos talks about Ruben being behind his kidnapping.  She demands to know what he's talking about.  This just proves to her that Maria’s involvement with Jantos is putting all of them in danger.  Jantos convinces Maria to rest so he can talk to Amalia alone.  Amalia tells him how stressed out she is when she thinks of the danger he's in, etc. etc.  She's admits they're in a dilemna.  Either he loses Maria, or she loses Maria.  He begs Amalia to be more understanding.
Fabian returns to Ruben's office.  Ruben attacks him from behind and demands to know why he called the Don?  Fabian tells him he's gone too far, he did it for his own good.  “Oh yeah?” says Ruben, “Well what I'm about to do is for your own good.
Fer sings a real tear jerker, title?  with visions of Ana behind him.  **sniff**
Maria gives Amalia an injection.  Amalia is amazed at how much Maria must love that man to withstand so much suffering.  Maria remembers a favorite song of her father's, “Amor Sin Medida” and says that's the way of love.  Alone, Amalia speaks to Pedro saying not only did Maria inherit his voice, she also inherited his way of loving with wild abandon.
filler scene)Hospital San Hipolito – Maria and Jantos visit the ob to discuss the pregnancy.  Jantos tries to leave but the Doctor encourages him to stick around.
Mirna goes to see Aventurero.  She feels badly how things turned out and offers to help him find a job and even suggests they continue their affair.  She leans into kiss him and Lety arrives just in time to see them.  Aventurero rejects Mirna and tells her it's over.  He sees Lety and notices she has a suitcase and notices she's crying.  She tells him she's realized that dreams are impossible, including the one where she thought he'd one day love her as much as she loves him.  She'd plan to go with him to Chiapas but now she realizes he has other plans.  He swears there's nothing between him and Mirna.  Lety can come visit him anytime.  She clarifies she wasn't planning to visit – she wanted to go and stay with him.  Ruh-roh, he can't promise her anything but who knows what God's plans are.  Lety is easily led and decides she's going to take the chance and go with him.
Maria and Jantos return to Casa Mendosa only to argue again whether or not she'll try to get information out of Ruben.
Fabian confronts Ruben.  He's just found out Ruben closed “El Table” and doesn't understand why since it was such a good sources for money laundering.  Ruben is unperturbed, saying if Fabian can go to El Don behind his back, then he can do some things in secret too.  Nyah, nyah. Fabian will learn soon enough what he's up to.
El Lay prison – Justo visits Michael in jail.  He's come to ask a favor.  He wants Michael to do some checking and see if any of his prison pals know who Victoriano is.
Maria enters Ruben's lair.  She's come to tell him she's very grateful for all his help but it's time he understood that he shouldn't interfere in her business.  She's determined to defend her relationship with Jantos, even willing to go with him to El Lay.    Ruben tells her he's no good for her.  Maria spills it and tells him she's preggers with Jantos' child.  Ruben is muy impactado.  He congratulates her.  Maria suddenly asks about OJ, is he his friend?  (oh yeah, real smooth Maria)  Ruben denies the friendship only that they were involved in a deal that didn't pan out
Amalia and Jantos are cooking up a storm.  Amalia wonders if he's thinking of taking Maria with him to El Lay.....tan tan TAN!
Mirna speaks to two potential JNTR customers.  They're planning a party for a friend who is the son of a political bigwig.  He also happens to be a big fan of La Perla and would love it if she were to sit at their table for a bit.  Mirna says the talent is expected to please the customers.  They can expect her to sit with their friend.
Jantos promises he and Maria will stay in Mexico.
Rod and Paloma  FF>>  He loves her but needs to hear her say she loves him.  Oh yeah, she loves him with all her heart blah blah blah.  They kiss when Mean Girl interrupts them.  She wants to speak with Roddy.
Mancia runs after Susie to go to the market.  No can do, he's gotta do something for Irasema. Fabian comes up and warns him again to stay away from Irasema.  He makes it known that he's packing and even threatens Mamacita if Susie doesn't comply.
Justo meets with El Don.  He knows who he is and knows all about his bidness.  Justo proposes a plan to reopen a business that El Don had previously closed.  Egads, he's posing as a business man – wait, he's the ex-ambassador to the U.S. – Beanie tightening time.
Jantos tells Amalia all about the doctor's visit.  Amalia's been busy knitting and shows Jantos her handiwork which is all in blue.  She's hoping for a grandson but he confesses he wants a daughter.  Since leaving El Lay the most important things that have happened to him was Maria's love and now expecting his child.  These two things made everything worthwhile.
Lourdes is giving Sonador some money, just to tide him over until he finds another job. Concho arrives in time to see the exchange of money and jumps to the conclusion that she's paying her lover.
(filler scene) Isa pitches a fit cuz she's failed at math and her teacher has threatened to expel  her!   Jantos promises to hellp her.
Concho and Elvira gang up on Lourdes and Concho is face to face with Sonador.
(filler scene) Meangirl can't understand why Roddy continues to reject her.  She forces herself on him and plants a kiss on his lips while MeanGirl#2  captures the kiss.  Paloma is sure to break with him for sure.   Snoooooooozefest  zzzzzzzzzzzz
(filler scene) Jantos and the Mendoza women joke over the gender of the new Mendoza/vargas/whatever child. Roddy comes by and tells Paloma that MeanGirl made up an excuse to see  him.
Concho continues to accuse Lourdes but Sonador defends her.  She's only helped him, that's all. Lourdes confesses she helped him because he's Socorro's son.  She reminds him Socorro was her childhood friend.  Concho seems a bit impactado by this news. Hmmmmm  Anyway, Sonador defends Lourdes, “She's never betrayed you.  She loves you.  I've seen how she suffers because of you.  Perhaps one day you'll realize the wonderful woman by your side.  She deserves to be treated like a queen.”
(filler scene) Roddy nervously tells Paloma about MeanGirl but leaves out the kiss.
El Lay – Justo continues his sit-down with Victoriano, saying he imports Mexican foods. Victoriano promises to be in touch.  He thoughbubbles: maybe he hasn't tied me in with what happened to his son – or maybe he's a wolf in sheep's clothing.
(filler scene) Amalia gives Maria knitting lessons, Jantos tutors Isa in math.
JNTR – The “customers” are back and making plans about Maria, assuming anyone who performs in a bar would be willing to do anything for a little cash.  They haven’t noticed Jantos standing behind them.  Maria sings her song and the birthday boy jumps on the stage and rudely propositions her and tells her to name her price.  Jantos comes to her rescue and ends up using the politician’s son as a punching bag and punches out his friend too.

Good work, Paquita.

I agree on the Oy Vey. Maria doesn't seem to understand that Jorge Alfredo was defending her honor. Those asswipes would not have understood anything else. I guess he should have tried to frogmarch the guy off the stage first.

I could swear they were planning to slip her a rufie and kidnap her. The avances indicate that they are Ruben's accomplices and this was a trap.

Mirna also needs to understand she can't pimp Maria out like this (I wonder what secrets are in her own past). This is insulting to her art. She should also have been suspicious that they didn't want the two male singers for this show.

Of course, Maria will play the "I hate violence" card and try to break up with Jorge Alfredo, which will please Mama. This shows both an ignorance of how men behave (not entirely her fault) and ignorance of the danger she is in.

I realize that Justo wants to investigate El Padrino himself but I hope he talked to the LAPD first. This has the potential to get him into more hot water than he can get out of.

Ole to Susanito, but he and Irasema need to get out of Dodge if she's going to be safe from Fabnot.

Why does Colosso persist in thinking that Maria was "his" and that Jantos stole her away? It is borderline sociopathological when he continues to come back to Maria each time she rebuffs him and declares her love for Jantos. Frankly, I was getting so peeved at the screenwriters for writing Colosso's diatribes that I stopped watching last night's episode after the first 15 minutes.

Spot on about Maria and her violence excuse for a break up and this time it is her fault for ignoring JA's wishes and going to Ruben. I'm no fan of resorting to fists but if some guy basically propositioned me like I was a slut and my man didn't defend me the fists would be mine on him. Maria is an idiot, what did she think JAntos would do. I do think that with Santos's morphing into JAntos he has begun to act more primitively. I somehow don't think the son of a consul,a successful business man in LA would resort to fighting as he does here. Time to tone it down.

Looks like Fabnot was the dude that forced Irasema into prostitution and she got away. She is clearly terrified of him and if anyone should split it is her. Interesting how a few days ago Mancia was all over irasema to stick to Sue to keep him from finding out her own dirty little secrets but now has switched sides and wants the girl gone.

Once again Amelia reveals her true self. She isn't happy with Maria's decision but fakes being happy . She basically tells JAntos that she doesn't think he will be proved innocent (she obviously thinks he is guilty of something) and than wants to know where he would live when he marries Maria. All along we thought that him taking her nina away is what drives her and now she can/should relax since he plans to stay in the DF.

Let me get this straight, Ruben loves Maria and only wants to protect her, he respects her. Yeah sure so he sets her up to be treated like a two dollar whore. Guess he didn't much care for her pregnancy revelation. I can see him and Fabnot getting into it one of these days and one of them will not survive.

Maria doesn't understand how men operate because she was primarily raised by a woman in a female-centric household. Although she may have had Pedro longer than Paloma, he was probably out singing & not in the home that much. You'd think she'd pick up some clues hanging around the Mariachi Gang but nope.

Rodrigo shouldn't have lied to Paloma about kissing Vanessa, especially since Vanessa kissed HIM. But when it comes out, Paloma should remember Rodrigo came in the house very upset with his encounter with Vanessa.

Maria is a dumb ass. JAntos TOLD her:

I was kidnapped

Ruben was behind it

Guiliano was dealing with Ruben

Do NOT go over to Ruben's office & confront him over Guiliano

What does this dummy do? Go right over Ruben's office & confront him over Guiliano.

Maria & her family seem to operate in fantasy world. They just don't get it.

Loved Susanito giving Fabian the bus driver uppercut!

Maria may have grown up in a femalcentric household but she has worked around men since her teens. It makes no sense to me that she would be upset when JAntos hits a man who came up to her, gabbed her and asked how much it would cost for her to spend the night with him. Even the dimmest bulb on the planet would recognize that for the gross insult it is. But not her — eyes rolling.

Roddy made a bad mistake by not telling Paloma the truth and once Vain Van shows her the picture she will predictably over react just like Maria.

I guess Friday's episode will be All the Men Mope. The Mendoza girls will dump theirs, Irasema will run for her life, and Fernando will suffer because apparently he doesn't love Ana in the correct fairy tale manner.

Don't make the mistake of believing anything Ruben says about "loving" Maria. He's a lot more likely to want to roast her for dinner, especially now. This man is incapable of any normal emotion.

He may be setting her up for a "Tosca" moment but it is far more likely he will set Jorge Alfredo up to be killed anyway.

Anon207, great point about how Maria should know better after knowing the mariachi frat boys for as long as she does.

She also should have listened to Jorge Alfredo and stayed away from Ruben.

We all know Maria NEVER listens. I know it won't happen but I would love to have JAntos discover that she went to Ruben and have him tell her he is finished with her since she didn't listen AND because of her stupidity he is now in danger and oh yeah her whole family as well.

When those punks set up the "surprise" at the bar I thought oh oh a politically connect spoiled brat, it's a set up to get the police to arrest JAntos without Maria finding out. The cops got there suspiciously fast. I'm hoping that once JAntos tells them what was said they will not drag him off to jail and Ruben's plot will fail.

Is anyone else getting the vibe that Amalia doesn't want to let go of any of her daughters?

At this stage Paloma and Isabel are still theoretical because they are minors, but Maria's pending departure is real to Amalia. She is so unwilling to share Maria's love with anyone she desperately wants to believe that Jorge Alfredo is guilty of something.

She wouldn't believe a word of what Jorge Alfredo knows about Ruben because Ruben has always put on a good front before her.

I agree that Amelia doesn't want to let go of any of her daughters. I thought she made that pretty clear with a couple of those group hugs and we are a unit comments. I wonder if she is as possessive as she is because since Pedro died she has focused all her attention on the girls particularly because of Concho's lies which took away her picture of Pedro as the perfect man.

JAntos may have given her back the picture of Pedro as a faithful man, something she seems to have forgotten, but with ten years spent probably hating all men and thinking them rotten she hasn't been able to rid herself of that mindset and is clinging to it to keep her children close. She has convinced herself it is to keep them safe from being hurt but that doesn't serve them well for the rest of their lives since they don't seem to have good coping skills.

That said Maria is an adult and has worked around men for years but she remains a little girl at heart. Every time things don't go exactly her way in the relationship with JA she runs back either emotionally or physically to Mama. I really dislike how the relationship alway has to be her way or the highway. We can see that coming with the probable fight breakup tonight. She really isn't worth Santos time.

I am ready to agree with that. Maria's lack of coping skills is not entirely her fault, but she should be fighting her mother more over this stuff. Amalia is a helicopter mother and they aren't doing their kids any favors.

I'm not sure who is worse, Amalia or Mancia.

Two comments about Santos:

-- I like his original name; it suits him well. Compared to the other male characters in this series he is a saint.

-- I wish they would just use one singer to dub his singing voice and that's the one that sounds like Alejandro Fernandez.

So agree about the singer. The other night when Santos was singing the dubbing was just fractionally off and it was so annoying.

It's a toss up between Amelia and Mancia but at least Suesanito can finally see how his mother manipulates him, Maria doesn't. Amelia is much more subtle than Mancia.

Any parent in their right mind wants to protect their child from being hurt physically or emotionally but no matter how much you love them children need to learn that life isn't all roses and lollipops, that they will be hurt. Helicopter parents do more damage than good and end up raising children that can't stand up for themselves and fight for what they want. Worse they end up with a sense of entitlement.
My cousin is a middle school principle and does she ever have stories to tell about meddling parents. LOL

A friend's daughter is a middle school English teacher; same deal.

I wonder whether any helicopter parent ever realizes they are doing more harm than good by this. Independence in one's children is the ultimate goal of parenthood and their psych issues should not be allowed to impede that.

Applying helio parenting to Amelia it is obvious that she has left Maria unprepared for anything in the least bit traumatic. JAntos goes missing, Maria takes to her bed weeping and then falling into a semi coma. God knows how she would react to something really bad, like him getting hurt as a result of her stupidity with Ruben.

I pity that baby of hers since her role model is Amelia. Maria will hover and because she has no real coping skills will not be able to deal with a child getting any of the little bumps and bruises that are such a part of childhood.

Oddly, I think Santos will make a better father than she will a mother. The player becomes a model dad... gotta love it.

The baby should have a nanny. I know a lot of Caraymates have an objection to this at CI, but a protective nanny is what that baby will need at least in the short term if the danger from Ruben and Giuliano is still present.

And let's not forget Elvira.

Under the heading of All Things Considered, Amalia should not live with them after the danger has passed. She needs to learn a thing or a thousand before being allowed to babysit Maria's baby.
