La Tempestad, Cap. 21, Monday, August 26: GLORIA'S RECAP

Here is Gloria's Monday Masterpiece for your reading pleasure!
Robles tells Jaz he sees no reason for her to be working at the cantina.  He asks for a beer.  Jaz asks how much longer he’s going to be around.  Why asks Robles.  Do you want me to leave?  Of course not replies Jaz.  The truth says Robles is that the investigation is coming to a close.  We haven’t found anything.  But let’s talk about you. (What most women want to hear, but not Jaz) We talk a lot, but I hardly know you.  Jaz drops a glass and Robles tells her to leave it.  She tells him she has told him everything.  He keeps questioning her and she keeps looking at Nereo. Robles looks towards Nereo wondering the connection.  He asks her if she knows him, but she says he’s just a customer.  Another customer asks for a drink and saves her from further interrogation.  Robles saves the bottle with her fingerprints.

The cab driver and Mercedes are trying to locate the homeless girl but can’t find her. They decide to abandon the search. In the alley is a finely manicured homeless girl, picking up a cigarette off the ground and smoking it. Mercedes is driving off in the cab and wonders who the girl was.

Marina is on the yacht thinking about her last encounter with Damian. He tells her that he is going to get a divorce.  Once he has fixed his life, he is coming for her. This is his promise to her.  Marina thinks that Estercita won’t allow it.  Damian is forbidden and she will have to accept it.  (Ahh, but isn’t it great to play with fire sometimes?)

Damian recalls his last encounter with Marina.  She tells him that she couldn’t stay and see his wife chase him all over the boat caressing and kissing him.  And knowing that each night they were locked away in his room to make love.  No, she has too much dignity. Fine, replies Damian. I will send Estercita back. (As if she would go back willingly, my friend).  No says Marina. I will not carry that in my conscience. I am the one leaving. The sooner, the better. Damian tells himself that she should never have left his side.  As soon as I divorce Estercita, no one and nothing will take Marina away from me. (Dude, do you not remember the tantrum that little “E” had in your room? “Primero muerto!” is what I recall. Good luck with that)

Back at the cantina, Borracha Cool Tia Rebecca starts dancing and looks for a single guy to dance with.  She finds one and they dance.

Mercedes rips Alicia a new one for causing her problems with the prostitutes.

Hernan brings Marina home and again asks her to work for him. He promises her a life of ease. (More like a life of living in la-la land) Perhaps something may even blossom between us. He can’t deny he’s in love with her and hopes one day she will feel the same. Marina doesn’t want to hurt him. She doesn’t know if she can feel the same way. He just wants the chance. He asks her to run away and try somewhere else together. Marina doesn’t know.

Bagre tells Damian that they have caught more fish in one night then in one week combined. Damian is happy and says they can return to port. Bagre tells him to go rest then. Damian doesn’t want to bother Estercita who at this moment is not looking to well. Guess she will not be consummating her marriage with her new husband tonight. She comes out the bathroom and is all over the place complaining that the room is spinning.

Bagre is comparing how Marina and Estercita first fared on “La Tempestad”.  Lolo, Bagre and Damian share a laugh. Damian sends Lolo to look in on his new bride.

Estercita complains to Lolo that she has felt like dying all night. (Guess they didn’t have any butter on board).  Lolo tells her to sleep it off. She runs back to the bathroom to get sick again. Lolo laughs.

Damian keeps thinking about Marina.

Marina accepts Hernan’s offer of a new job (what a freaking idiot).  She says that once the new order gets completed, she will quit and see what destiny has in store for them. He gets all giddy and does a jig. Just kidding.  He hugs her. He tells her she has made him the happiest girl, err man in the world.  Let’s celebrate! Let’s tell your mother! Marina tells him she just wants to go to bed and forgot about today.  Hernan agrees and wishes her a good night.  He leaves and she suddenly remembers some paperwork that she left at the office that she needs to get done tonight.

Mercedes tells her strange sighting to Alicia of the homeless woman. Then tells Alicia that she gave Marina to Ariel to raise because she feared that Ernesto would come back and take Marina from her like he did with Magdalena. She and Ariel still loved each other but circumstances stood in their way. Ariel wanted to press charges against Ernesto, but Mercedes said he was too dangerous. It was then that Ariel found out that he was the father of the twins.

Olinto sees Marina coming into the packing plant. She just came to work on a report.

Valdivia tells Hernan that his men are setting fire to the plant as they speak.   Hernan doesn’t even want the ashes left after the fire finishes burning. Just like Damien’s.

Fulgencio’s is walking around town and tells himself that Hernan cannot fail. If he does, he himself will find the boss and propose getting rid of Hernan. He spots Lazaro walking in town and says “that’s my son”.  He carries my blood, even though I don’t acknowledge it.  Only Rosario and I know it.

Delfina tells Mayuya that she can stay in Estercita’s room if she wants to. (Of course, she is).  That way, you know this room is not empty replies Mayuya. I cannot replace your daughter, but if I stay here, perhaps you will not feel her absence. Delfina the gullible thanks her for all her help. When she leaves, Mayuya tells herself that she can’t replace Estercita, she’ll be better.

Damian sends Oso to tell Estercita that they have reached port and to get ready to disembark. She complains that Damian should be there with her. Oso explains that he is supervising the unloading of the fish. Hopefully tomorrow they will go back out. Estercita tells herself that even if Damian doesn’t like it, they will be  going on their honeymoon. Estercita goes through the drawers to make sure she leaves nothing behind and she finds a shirt belonging to Marina.

The hired pyros are pouring gasoline all over the warehouse while Marina is in her office working. They light a match and fire breaks out. Smoke starts coming into her office. She sees it and opens the door.

Damian finally sees to his bride and brings her some pills to help with her sea sickness. He asks what’s with the attitude.  I told you I couldn’t be with you.  I had to work. Estercita launches into another tantrum (is this the 3rd since they have been married? It‘s been what?  Maybe 10 hrs?  that‘s like 1 per 3 ½ hrs) Anyway, she asks what is Marina’s shirt doing in his room?  Damian doesn’t know.  Perhaps she left it here.  Estercita thinks Marina was seducing him.  Don’t deny it. Damian says it’s not true. Your making things up. Estercita tells him that Marina will do anything to end up with him. Damian tells her that he is not going to argue about her about the same thing again.  They have a lot to talk about. For example, that there marriage was a mistake. What asks Estercita?  Your saying that so that you can end up with Marina. But I will not allow that!  And she rips up Marina’s shirt. Damian tells her to do what she wants but that won’t change his mind. He walks out and Estercita yells after him.

Marina tries to call 911 but no dial tone. She yells out for help.

Borracha Cool Tia Rebecca is at the cantina enjoying herself. She tells Cande that she needs to have a dance show and she could choreograph it all. She wouldn’t charge her a thing. Cande agrees.

Mercedes tells Alicia that separating herself from Marina was one of the hardest things to do. Ariel wanted to know why she didn’t tell him before. Mercedes was going to, but he decided to marry Beatriz. Ariel said you know why.  Beatriz was in bad health and she was in love with me. Mercedes tells him that she’s not reproaching him, she’s seeking his help. He promises to take care of her with his life and will return Marina when she finds their other daughter. Mercedes promises baby Marina to return to her and the 3 of them will reunite again.

Good cop informs Fulgencio that the fish plant is on fire. Fire department is on their way, but it may be too late. Fulgencio says one down, one to go. (La Tempestad)

Damian tells the boys to get some rest; they leave again tomorrow for more fish.  Oso reminds Damian that his wife is below and has now fallen asleep. Damian says it’s the pills I gave her. Let her rest. Lolo interrupts and tells Damian that the plant is on fire. The crew run to the plant.

Marina still screaming for help.

Help has arrived to put the fire out. Beatriz and Tia Rebecca have come to find out what’s going on. Hernan arrives and finds out from Beatriz and Tia Rebecca that Marina is not home. He tells them that he dropped her off. They tell him that she is on “La Tempestad”. They wonder where she is.

Mercedes gets a call that the packing plant is on fire. She leaves her phone.

The prostitutes are talking about Mercedes and spot the homeless girl. They follow her. They try to call Mercedes.

Marina passes out.

Mercedes phone rings but no answers. Working girl 1 keeps calling, but Working girl 2 tells her to call back tomorrow.

Mercedes has arrived in 2 seconds from the city.  They all wonder where Marina is. Damian and crew arrive. Damian issues orders. Mercedes calls Damian over.  She asks him if he knows where Marina is.  Damian says she returned with Hernan. Damian confronts Hernan and says she was your responsibility. Where is she?  Hernan tells Damian he doesn’t have to give him any explanations.  Mercedes intervenes and says we have to find out where Marina is. Olinto shows up and tells the group that Marina is inside. All the women go crazy and lunge forward. Jose with his superhuman strength, holds them all back. Damian and Hernan go in. They actually work together.  Jose holds Mercedes as she asks God to save her daughter. Beatriz and Tia Rebecca are all over the place with Olinto trying to hold them together.

Beam and debris falling with Damian and Hernan working their way to finding Marina.

Crew trying to fight the fire but explosions holding them back.  Women calling out for Marina.

Damian and Hernan down by explosion. Beam fell on Hernan. Damian tries to lift it off Hernan. Those manly muscular arms are definitely getting a workout.  Hernan yells out for Marina and tells Damian to leave him and find her. Save her!  A steel beam almost gets Damian. He yells out her name. He pushes away a heavy crate and leaps through flames to get to her office. He finds her and yells out “Mi amor!”. He tries to get her to react, but she just lays there limp. He puts a jacket over her and lifts her up in his manly muscular arms and cradles her next to his chiseled chest (couldn’t help myself.  Thinking of you Judy B) and carries her out of the office and to the waiting arms of her mother(s) and aunt.  Notice that Mercedes is the one that cradles her not Beatriz.  Damian goes back for Hernan and lifts the beam off to free him.

Jose reminds Mercedes kindly to let Beatriz hold Marina and Tia Rebecca I think notices.

Back in the fire, Damian has freed Hernan and offers him a hand up. Hernan takes it and Damian helps him out.

Marina is wheeled into the hospital with everyone following. Jose drags Mercedes away. Beatriz thanks Damian and Hernan. Hernan thanks Damian for saving his life. Damian says no thanks needed. You called the ambulance when I was shot with a harpoon and now I saved your life. We are now even.

Olinto finds out from the fireman that the offices and the warehouse was the most effected. Olinto says it won’t be easy to recoup from this.  Olinto doesn’t understand how this happen. They have measures in place to avoid such things like this. The fireman says it was done on purpose.

Damian prays to La Virgin de Guadalupe to save Marina. You know how much I love her. I cannot lose her.

Manana: Hernan b!tchslaps the organizer of the fire; does Mercedes confess she is the real mother of Marina?

Dear fellow addicts of La Tempestad,

Gloria was having technical problems so she asked one of us to post her recap for her. I haven't read it closely yet, but as far as I can tell, it's a lulu. Enjoy!

Gloria:

Thanks for this most marvelous recap! Sorry you had problems posting.

Herny is an idiot! All his mis planes go wrong. Karma is talking to him, but he isn't listening. I know he couldn't possibly have known that Marina would end up at the plant that time of night, but still! I hope he never succeeds with Marina or ruining Mercedes and DamFab.

I like that we now know about Ariel and the twins and that he was the baby daddy of those twins. So he only married Bea cause she was ill. Like DamFab only married Pester to save her reputation. Hmmm......

I wonder what Fully is ever gonna do about Lazaro. I think he quite enjoys knowing he has a son, even though he has never acknowledged him.

Mercedes was sure giving herself away. I'm surprised Bea didn't catch on, but I think Tia Becky did. She kept giving Mercedes the strangest looks. I think Tia Becky is gonna figure it out before long.

Pester really didn't think about the consequences of marrying DamFab. She is really naïve in a way. DamFab will have a hard time getting rid of her. Cross your fingers DamFab, cause she isn't letting you loose anytime soon.

I am really liking Tia Becky and her joie de vivre and Jose for his tact and watching out for Mercedes.

Thank you Gloria for this wonderful recap!

This is the second time that Hernan almost kills Marina accidentally. Dude really needs to make sure that Marina is safe the next time he wants to blow something up or set something on fire.

There was this long pause before Hernan grabbed Damian's hand and let him help him get to safety. Hernan also told Damian that he owed him one and that was when Damian told him that they were even.

Tia Rebeca did notice Mercedes' worrying way too much about Marina. I liked the looks that Jose was giving Mercedes to stop making the truth so obvious.

Well hey, Ms.Gloria, thanks indeed for that CHISELED CHEST. And thanks to you, Sweet William as well.

My favorite parts of this were all in paragraphs...like:

(What most women want to hear, but not Jaz) and

(What a freaking idiot!)

Even better though was the Tantrum Algebra: "one per 3 and 1/2 hours"
Yes, Estercita is overachieving when it comes to berrinches.

But for some reason, what really cracked me up was:

"José, with his superhuman strength, holds them back."

Oh my, can't wait to see those lovely biceps in action. Sure hope the actor is wearing a short-sleeved shirt.

Now, does anyone else think our lovely, fun Tia Rebeca needs a 12-step program? I know, I know...she's the life of the party, especially compared to that depressive drudge Beatriz, but still...Just sayin'

I loved Esthercita'a seasickness. But boy will she be upset when she wakes up and finds out she slept through her wedding night. Hahaha.

Marvelous recap Gloria. Thanks for getting it to us, despite technical issues.

This was an exciting episode, and a very interesting one given Mercedes nearly giving herself away, seeing more of the past of how Ariel ended up with Marina, and Hernan acknowledging that he owes Damian.

Tia Becky definitely was giving Mercedes major side eye. She will figure this out quickly I think. I also liked how Jose helped keep Mercedes in check with just a look. He's a great guy to have your back.

Judy- You are not the only one who has thought Tia Becky might have a bit of a problem. For now, she seems to be a happy, functional drunk.

Now I want to see the flashback when Ariel returned home to his wife Bea, with his baby by another woman in his arms. THAT must have been quite a conversation that night.

"Gloria (Mundi)" Oh NM, you couldn't resist could you?

Gloria, thank you for your magnificent Monday masterpiece. I love your little editorial comments such as "what a freaking idiot" and, to quote JudyB, the "Tantrum Algebra".

I find it incredibly amusing that every time Hernan tries to sabotage something he ends up almost murdering the supposed love of his live.

Wow, Mercedes has a really fast helicopter! 400 miles in 2 seconds is simply amazing. Maybe she was already in Veracruz. Staying 2 seconds from the fishery.

And once again DamFab proves he's got a much bigger boat than Hernan. Although to be fair, Hernan did try. Things just don't work out to well for him. AS USUAL. Little dude, get a clue.

I adore Tia Becky, but I'm going to agree with some of you that hanging out at the cantina is perhaps not the best place for her, lol.

Thanks, Gloria, for that exciting recap. I slept through this episode. I returned to work yesterday after my great minivaca down the shore. After work, we had company for dinner , and I did some swimming. By the time 9 p.m. rolled around, I was sound asleep on the sofa. However, your detailed recap let me "see" the episode quite clearly.

I agree that Auntie Becky needs a 12 step program, but at least she is a happy, functional drunk. It looks like there will be a dance review at the cantina, so I am down with that. I love me some good moves.

I hope that DamFab has a big supply of those anti seasick pills that seem to put Pester to sleep. Otherwise, he and we are in for some nonstop Hissyfits. I can't wait to see Pester's reaction to her "good friend" M. Moving into her room.

Thanks for the recap Gloria!

After seeing WIlliam Levy in the fire scene, the only conclusion I can come to is that I want to sneak into Cuba and find my own William Levy. Big Sigh!

Now that I have had a chance to read it, I can tell you this recap is a hoot. Thank you, Gloria.

This line in particular made me giggle:
"Mercedes has arrived in 2 seconds from the city."
I think she must have magical powers.

Mejía scholars probably shared my "déjà vu all over again" moment last night when Sweet William rushed into the flames to rescue Marina. It was so evocative of Sweet William's rescue of Maria Desamparada after Daniela Romo's crazed Doña Bernarda had set the vecindad on fire.

Hernán surprised me. I didn't think he'd have the guts to follow DamFab into the fiery inferno. (Though it was the least he could do since it was all his fault anyway.)

JudyB:
"Now, does anyone else think our lovely, fun Tia Rebeca needs a 12-step program?

Hmm. I've been wondering about the drinking in general in this one. So far, the message has been "In vino veritas" or maybe "Candy is dandy but liquor is quicker." I'm actually ok with that. I mean is anyone using this story as a blueprint for life? If so, see me after Spanish class.
:)

And no, Sylvia, I couldn't resist. [snort]

Susanlynn,

Every time you write "my minivaca", I imagine you with a small bovine in tow.

[Guess I've lived in Wisconsin too long, huh?]

Gloria: Enjoyed every word - this was awesome. Loved "finely manicured homeless girl" and (Dude, do you not remember the tantrum that little “E” had in your room? “Primero muerto!” were my favorites. I always enjoy your take on things!

"(Ahh, but isn’t it great to play with fire sometimes?)". I've accidentally touched hot ashes but never played with fire (in the context you are refering to), although if such fire should ever appear in the form of WL, I will be sorely tempted.

Not only is WL divinely handsome and chisled (right, Judy?) he even CRIES handsomely! He doesn't even register on Ferro's ugly crying scale.

Madelaine, totally agree about Herny. He can't seem to get out of his own way. At the least, he needs to ensure Marina is out of town before he tries to burn or blow anything else up.

Mauricio, Jose wasn't being subtle in his warning looks to Mercedes, yet it took her a little longer to to heed them than she should have.

Vivi, I can't think of anyone I would want to watch my back more than Jose. He seems to magically appear every time there is a crisis.

It's amazing how Mercedes was able to rush back and for Dam get back to shore, dock and get to the blazing inferno before the fire engulfed Marina's office. Beanie time!

Disappointed Marina didn't flat out reject Hernan's job offer. I thought she was getting some kind of clue, but apparantly she will need to learn the hard way. Sigh.

Thanks for posting this NovelaMaven.

Diana

Diana, OMG you are absolutely right about WL's crying. Even his weeping is well-chiseled and handsome!

Hmmm...more musings on this exciting episode. To my surprise (since I absolutely LOATHE Hernán) I actually found myself noticing how engaging and endearing the actor looked while trying to persuade Marina to quit the empacadora and work for him. Would love to see this man playing a good guy (but not a good guy in red or pastel pants, please!)

My other thought was that the actress playing Estercita must be having a ball (ditto for Tia Becky). But oh my, Estercita's bouncing around the boat and recklessly violating the chest drawers (NOT the chiseled chest, more's the pity) must have been fun to play. She's having quite a romp with this role.

All Marina gets to do is bleat "Auxilio" and faint behind the desk. Pooh!

JudyB:

I'm with you about Marina yelling for help and then passing out after she stood there for a hot minute looking around. My note to her would have been, look, I need to find a way out of this fiery inferno, for the love of Pete! I would have been trying to find a way out instead of having a case of the vaypors!

HA..Diana.."Ferro's ugly crying scale." WOW..That gave me a blast from the past. Ferro was a very funny guy.. I wonder what happened to him. And you are so right. WL even cries in a manly, muscular, chiseled way.

Anita:

We haven't found out how Ariel died just yet, just that he died.

Gloria - wonderful recap. It's like re-watching this exciting episode all over. your ..."cradles her next to his chiseled chest" got me weak in the knees. thank you!

Cap'n Sylvia - ha ha re DamFab's bigger boat. Made me think again of his musical instrument (the guitar) vs Hernan's (violin).

William Levy is pure symmetry in motion. not one bad angle/ facial expression. his eye bags only make him appear manlier, indicative of hard work.

Excellent recap, Gloria
I have to agree with everything that has already been said.
I was wondering about Mercedes being teleported to the fire. She got there before the firemen.
It was a great episode.

Susanlynn, I don't know what Chris is doing but I will never forget him - his recaps were wonderful.

For anyone not familiar with the term, Chris Ferro, a recapper from a few years back, devised an "ugly crying scale" with numbers from 1 to 10. Some of the most beautiful women and handsomest men were the ugliest criers! The rating applied to their crying only, not on their appearance. We had so much fun with this...

Diana

NOvelamaven--I live in a rural area that used to have a lot of Dairy farms. Locals spoke PA. Dutch , so I learned to say charming phrases like "you are an old cow" in that dialect. (phonetically.." Du bisht Un auldy cu."). I did not know that "vaca" was "cow" in Spanish until later in life. ...Susanlynn, now enjoying staycation in stead of minivaca.

JudyB - I'm assuming you didn't see Ivan Sanchez in LRdS? I only briefly saw him there, and he caught my attention.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tsfHoFO7WlQ

"...made him the happiest little girl, err man..in the world" Ha! that was great:-) thanks! I thought this was an exciting epi!

Fire, folks in danger, testosterone all over the place, biceps bulging, sweaty arms, and angst-filled faces:-)! And, of course, the end with both rescues.Excellent!

I liked the pause with Hernan reaching out to Damien. But I must say, a phone call for an ambulance does not equal a walk through a burning building. I don't think they are estan a mano, no siree!

And yes, Tia Becky is... perhaps functional, or... maybe a 12-step program is in order... we shall see. I did like Tia Becky's and Jose's looks at Mercedes..well played! Ana in Utah

shallowgal, funny pic! I would say WL didn't like his dark beer, except that his pint glass is almost empty.

Chris Ferro was great, what a funny guy and a real way with words.

Gloria - Muchas gracias. I too loved the little “E” line and your tantrum math.

I agree. They are not even. DamFab risked his life by going back in the fire to save him.

I also could not believe how fast Mercedes made it to R-
Laydee. Where is that fire department that took so long to make it to the fire?

WL is a good crier. He had a lot of practice on Cuidado Con El Angel. LOL

Cap'n Sylvia - you have to press the play button.

PS: Today is Daniela Romo's birthday. Happy Birthday Daniela Romo!!

Anita, I think was Mads was saying is that your information about Ernesto and Ariel constituted a "spoiler", which we try to avoid.

Anita:

That is true what JudyB said. It is a spoiler and we didn't have that information yet. It hasn't been revealed.

A gentle reminder for everyone. Even if it is in the cast notes, unless it was in the summary that is posted for the TN in the beginning please don't put it in a comment. We all want to watch it as it unfolds. Also if an actor is coming and the character has not been introduced yet, please don't comment on that until the actor appears in the story. We like to be surprised by a new character showing up. Thanks all!

shallowgal, how funny, my IE browser didn't show a Play button, but when I opened it in Google Chrome I was able to play the video. So our boy like sugar in his coffee. Good to know in case he ever stops by!

Anita:

I do apologize. I went back and looked at the cast notes and it was in there. So sorry!

I loved your recap.... Jose superhuman strength... manly muscular arms and chiseled chest.....I am here at work laughing..... and the tears WL is a good crier. Great Job!!!!

Wow, Gloria, great job. Very well done indeed.

So the impacadora is pretty well shut down? So I wonder where we go from here? It looks as though Hernán pretty well accomplished what he set out to do. Without the packing plant, what is left for La Tempestad and its crew to do... whale watching cruises? Maybe they can open a little casino on board.

Carlos

Carlos:

Love your armadillo avatar, lol.

Thanks for your recap Gloria. It was a fun episode made better by your hilarious commentary.

Gloria, what a great recap. Loved the commentary on Mercedes magic teleportation powers and the happiest girl er.. boy Herny.

I have been refreshing the site since last night to read about WL, WL, and WL, His Hotness WL.

And... I found myself getting addicted to recaps and commentary more than to sexy pants WL. Shucks, it's a battle between looks and brains, telenovela and Caray Caray (and I am sure that all of you are absolutely gorgeous too).

Ladies and gents, you make me smile, laugh, and snort. AT WORK!

Thank you.

The Soup did a take on LT but it wasn't that funny. It was the scene when Neo was chasing the escaped sister of Jazmin & bonked her on the head, then gave an insane look.
The main reason I watch The Soup is for the TN's.
They did the cutest one on Familia con Suerte with the dogs talking to each other but I haven't been able to find it online.

I think the Soup would have a treasure trove with CI.

So sorry. Didn't know the CarayCaray cast notes were off limits. Although a little late, I'll delete the earlier comment.

Hernan hopping up and down in joy when Marina agreed to let him find a job for her made me think of Rumpelstiltskin thinking he was going to get that firstborn - ugh! Then in that horribly awkward hug when he lifted her up, she was leaning back from him, stiff as a board. Even when he gave her that good night peck, she almost looked repelled, as if he has bad breath. On the other hand, when Damian barely stands close to her, she simply melts into him. Hey, Hernan, you still can't see she's not into you? Another oblivious one. But she shouldn't be using him to try to forget Damian, either. When (not if) he finds out, he's just the type to go berserk and want to hurt HER!

Oops, looks like it was already done. Lost the other comments, though.

Hi, Gloria:
Sorry to be so late to the party! Thank you for a rollicking good recap. So much detail about Marina and Magdalena in this episode.

JudyB, I think La Tia Tiberona is (sadly) a lush, to use an old fashioned word. Get thee to the 12 Step, Tia Becky.

Mauricio--I was amused by Laura Carmine last night playing seasick on the set. She was fabulous! But, as a very poor sailor myself, I actually felt really sorry for her. Maybe in a few years, after she grows up and Dam dumps her, she could laugh about getting seasick on her luna de miel.

Your comment, already mentioned by dear NM, "Mercedes has arrived in 2 seconds from the city", made me laugh out loud. Honestly, that was absurd. She said, "I'll be right there, grabbed her Chanel bag off the hook and showed up in R-Laydee, Veracruz before the second story of the fish plant even caught on fire. Even fast helicopters are that good.

Susanlynn and NM: The Minivaca sounded like fun to me. Indeed, I never gave the 'tiny bovine' idea a though until Maven mentioned it. Now I can't stop giggling. Susanlynn, perhaps this is inspiration for a new avatar.Tee hee hee.

EJ

Victoria Ruffo breaks the Richter scale as the most prolific crier.

Adela Noriega is not far behind.

Lucero cries like she has the hiccups.

Everyone cries but the TN's take it over the top. Silvia Navarro does a realistic job.

Talk about villains' plans going wrong, I'm watching my recording of today's episode of Mujer de Vendaval. The main villainess had the brakes of the galan's truck tampered with in order to kill him and leave her daughter a rich widow. In an act of spite, her daughter demands the truck of the galan as part of her divorce settlement, and she demands it right away. She's happily driving along, speaking to her mom on the phone about her victory, and as her mom freaks out and yells at her to stop the truck and get out, she crashes because she has no breaks, likely dying. The villainess tried to kill the galan to leave her daughter a widow, but ends up likely killing her daughter instead, AND hears it happen. Hernan so far has succeeded in not killing Marina, but barely.

Thank you, Gloria!

I've been a little confuzzled all this time about the backstory of Mercedes and her daughters, so I'm glad that was finally cleared up a little more. It still seems odd to me that Mercedes was willing to hand off her remaining daughter; beanie needs a little tightening.

I thought "little cow" when I read "minivaca", too. Then I thought maybe that was like a minor snitfit, as opposed to the MEGAVACA berrinches Hystericita throws.

Disappointed Marina is apparently willing to walk away from the fishpackery and into Herny's snare.

K-a-r-m-a

Vivi, that same thing happened on 90210! Well, almost. The pair were still happily married, but her mobster dad had a bomb planted in Dylan's car but then his daughter drove the car and got blown up. I think; it was a long time ago.

Vivi - I'm watching Mujer de Vendaval as well, but won't see today's epi til tonight. It's probably too soon for the daughter to die, to free the galan for the protagonista, no?

shallowgal- I hope she's dead because she is a pain in the butt.

Vivi - that she is. lol! o.t...it's uncanny how much she looks like Chantal Andere.
