La Tempestad, Capitulo 12. August 13th 2013. Madrina has spoken "Marina Is Your Destiny". Listen to her, Damian!
At the Love Cave, Damian and Marina kiss.
Damian wants to go all the way. Big mistake!
Marina resists and leaves.
Damian realizes the big boo boo he made and follows her.
At the seamstress, Mayuya spews more venom and puts in Esthercita's mind the idea that Marina wants to snatch Damian from her. Esthercita wants Mayuya to ask the crew if anything fishy is going on between Marina and her husband to be. Mayuya says that the crew would never tell her anything. Esthercita threatens to find another bridesmaid if Mayuya does not do what she asks. What would you do if you do find out that something fishy did happen between Marina and Damian? asks Mayuya. What any woman in love would do. Go and defend what is mine! I'd pluck Marina's hair and take her eyes out, says Esthercita.
At the port, the crew tells the other sailors about their most recent adventure out at sea. They tell the sailors about the pirate attack, how Damian defended Marina with his body, how Damian was wounded with a spear when he dived underwater to remove the explosives, how Marina took care of Damian when he was wounded and even sewed up his wound. Lagarto mentions how Marina spoke to Damian softly to console him when Damian would moan from the pain. If you didn't know them you'd think they were two lovebirds, says Lolo.
Mayuya from afar has heard all of this. She is more than amused at the idea of letting Esthercita know what she has just heard.
Damian chases after Marina. He calls out her name. Marina is out of sight. Bagre shows up and wants to know what's up. Damian doesn't tell him. He tells Bagre to go and see what needs to be done at the ship. Bagre does as he is told.
**PSA ALERT!!**
Marina meets up with two employees at the plaza. One of the employees cries and the other employee comforts her. Marina wants to know what is wrong and offers her help. The crying employee's husband hit her and she wants to leave him but is too scared. If he hit you then he does not deserve you. He's a coward. You have to press charges, says Marina. How can I do that? He's the father of my children, says the crying employee. He owes you respect because you're his wife and have given part of your life to him and among all things because you're a woman. If your husband does not respect you then you should demand it, says Marina. The comforting employee had told the crying employee the same thing but the crying employee is too scared. Don't be scared. You are not alone. I'll help you, says Marina. Marina tells the employees to go see Olinto so he can put them in contact with the company lawyer. Marina asks them to keep her informed on what happens. The crying employee thanks Marina for her help. I'm also a woman and I can't stand being taken advantage of. That's why we should fight to show others that we are worth the same or more than men, says Marina.
Esthercita is also at the same plaza. Mayuya tells Esthercita what she heard. I'll kill her!! I'll kill her!! I'll at least take her eyes out!! That woman isn't going to take my man from me!! Damian is mine!! says Esthercita.
At the ship, Damian is mad at himself for having behaved like such an animal with Marina. He says to himself that Marina isn't like the others. She's different, very different. He remembers the kiss.
At the plaza, Marina also remembers the kiss. She's mad at herself for having let the kiss happen. What did I do? What is wrong with me? I said that this couldn't be. I can't believe what I did, says Marina. Esthercita spots Marina and confronts her. Esthercita tells Marina that she knows that she wants to snatch Damian from her. Esthercita says that she will teach Marina a lesson about respecting her fiancee.
Esthercita attacks Marina.
Marina wants Esthercita to let go of her and leave her alone. Esthercita is determined to teach Marina a lesson about respecting the man of someone else.
Mayuya watches the fight in pure enjoyment. We can't blame her though because watching a street fight in these TN's is always entertaining!
Esthercita grabs Marina by the hair now. The two of them end up on the ground. Fulgencio shows up and breaks up the fight.
Hernan acts the victim in front of Beatriz. I only told Damian to treat Marina like what she is - a decent woman. Damian attacked me. He almost killed me, says Hernan. Beatriz wonders what is wrong with Damian. She knows that he is not a bad man and has a good heart but does not understand why Damian behaves the way he does. The people in this town are aggressive. This isn't the place for you and Marina, says Hernan.
Fulgencio yells at Esthercita for having caused yet another scandal in front of the townspeople. Do you think you are the town clown? asks Fulgencio. It comes out that the fight was because of Damian giving Fulgencio yet another reason to blame Damian for everything. Fulgencio breaks up the crowd that had gathered to watch the fight. Delfina shows up and wants to know what is wrong. Fulgencio tells Delfina to take Esthercita home. Delfina, Esthercita, and Mayuya leave. Fulgencio apologizes to Marina for Esthercita's behavior. He doesn't know what has gotten into Esthercita but ever since she became involved with Damian she has changed. Esthercita used to be an educated and obedient girl from a decent family. Marina tells Fulgencio that all the times that she has run into Esthercita she has behaved like a slut. Marina says that she will press charges.
Beatriz tells Hernan that she has tried to convince Marina to forget about the packing plant and to leave but Marina doesn't listen to her. Hernan says that he will try and convince Marina to leave. He tells Beatriz that he offered Marina a new job someplace near the ocean so Beatriz's health won't be affected. Beatriz wishes that she could help him convince Marina to leave. But Marina doesn't listen. Beatriz says that Marina feels that she has a big commitment to Mercedes Artigas.
Mexico City
Alicia brings Mercedes her tea. Mercedes has been remembering her past. Alicia knows about her past because Mercedes told her. Alicia tells Mercedes that if she needs to pour her heart out they can talk. Mercedes asks Alicia to sit down. Ever since that bastard Ernesto told her that he sold her daughter since she was a little girl all the memories of her past have been coming back to Mercedes. Flashback. Ernesto deceived Mercedes and took her to some room in an attic. He promised he'd advance her musical career and told her to have patience. He said that he first had to get in contact with some people that he had not seen in a long time. He told her that pretty soon he would take Mercedes to some fancy apartment. During the flashback, we see Ernesto kissing Mercedes' shoulder and her cheek in a real creepy way. That should have been a red flag for Mercedes! In the present time, Mercedes says that she never saw that fancy apartment. She spent her time in that attic with no job and without meeting anyone. Mercedes says that it would have continued being that way until one night.. Back to the flashback. Ernesto has brought some men who he has sold Mercedes to. Ernesto asks Mercedes to get undressed. Ernesto grabs Mercedes by the arm and tells her to obey. Mercedes grabs a knife that comes out of nowhere and threatens Ernesto and the men with it. The men leave. In the present time, Mercedes says that Ernesto forgot about her and all his promises and never sent her a cent. Alicia says that Mercedes was able to move forward alone. Mercedes says at first yes but then you came along. Mercedes will never forget that. Alicia is touched with Mercedes words.
Jazmin leaves a bottle of rum next to a sleeping (or passed out drunk) Nereo. She sneaks back inside the house. She asks Bettina if Nereo has been asleep for a while. Bettina says that Nereo has been asleep ever since he finished the last bottle of rum. Jazmin is sure that Nereo will continue sleeping and when he wakes up and sees the new bottle of rum he will continue drinking until he falls sleep again. She tells Bettina to lock the door and to not open the door. Jazmin will be leaving again. She asks Bettina to help her so Nereo does not notice that she left.
Mexico City
Mercedes talks on the phone with a client. The client has been left satisfied with the service of the packing plant. Mercedes knew that Marina would not disappoint her. Alicia thinks that Mercedes took risks in sending Marina to Nuestra Señora Del Mar. Mercedes says that Marina is like her. She is no coward and fights until she wins. Mercedes wanted to prove Marina's character and she has been left satisfied. Like I said, the time of the truth is near, says Mercedes.
Beatriz thanks Dr. Suspenders for having come over. Dr. Suspenders leaves. Marina comes home. Beatriz notices Marina's ripped shirt and wants to know what happened. Marina says that she is fine and tells Beatriz and Jose about her confrontation with Esthercita. She tells Beatriz that it was no big deal. Beatriz wants to know what Esthercita has against Marina. Marina says that Esthercita is just a spoiled girl and thinks that she wants to snatch Damian from her.
Delfina and Mayuya tend to Esthercita's bruises. This time it is Delfina who has a bag of ice on Esthercita's head. Esthercita whines that Marina wants to take her man from her. Delfina thinks that nothing justifies Esthercita fighting with Marina like that in the middle of the street. Esthercita says that Marina started it and Mayuya backs her up. Delfina is hurt by everything that Esthercita has done. Delfina says that the Christian education that they have given Esthercita has been of no help. What education? Do you want me to be dumb and let some man treat me like an old rag doll like you? says Esthercita. Delfina is offended by what Esthercita has just said. Esthercita says that she plans on leaving the house and never come back after she gets married. Delfina leaves.
Jazmin arrives at the church. Lazaro asks her how she managed to come. Jazmin says that Nereo was drunk and she left a new bottle of rum next to him. He'll drink it and wake up later, says Jazmin. Lazaro says that their dates can't continue on being like this. He has to do something. Just then Rosario and Padre Tomas come in. Padre Tomas introduces Rosario to Jazmin. He introduces her as Lucia though since Jazmin had told Padre Tomas that she was called Lucia. Rosario recognizes JazLu as being the girl who helped her when she tripped and sprained her ankle at church during mass. Rosario says that she has the sensation that she has seen JazLu before and asks her where she met Lazaro. Lazaro says that they met during the procession. Rosario asks Lazaro why he didn't tell her anything. Probably because he's not a little boy anymore and he doesn't have to tell you everything, Rosario. Your son is a grown man for pete's sake!! Anyway, Padre says that they can talk later at the house during lunch. Rosario says she knows that JazLu went to ask permission at home to have lunch with them and says they can get to know each other better during lunch.
A shirtless Hernan is on his fancy yacht.
Hernan calls Marina. He asks her how she's doing. Marina says that she does not want to be rude but she wants to talk later. He asks her if anything is wrong. She tells her yeah there are a lot of things but she is not in the mood to talk right now. She says that she is about to go and take a shower. Hernan tells her that she can count on him for anything. Marina says that she'd like to talk to him too but not now. They can talk later at the packing plant. They hang up.
Hernan says that he did not like Marina's tone of voice.
Madrina tells Damian that the sewing of the wound was sewed up good because it was done with affection. With love. Damian laughs at this and thinks that Madrina doesn't always know what she says. Madrina assures her that she knows more than he imagines. Madrina brings up Damian's upcoming nuptials. She tells him that his upcoming wedding with Esthercita is not convenient for him. Damian does not want to talk about the subject. He tells Madrina that she taught him to keep his word and that is what he is doing. Madrina tells Damian that she received a signal so Damian wouldn't marry Esthercita. Damian asks what the signal was. The signal was that a VIrgencita statue that she had inside her home fell without anyone touching it and broke into a million pieces after Madrina had said out loud that Damian would be marrying Esthercita.
The seamstress has brought Esthercita's wedding dress to Esthercita's house. Esthercita is not in the mood to take a look at the dress. Esthercita is rude with the seamstress and kicks her out. Esthercita puts the box on the table and opens the box. Mayuya and Delfina come into living room. Mayuya wants Esthercita to try it on. Esthercita says that she won't try it on until she talks with Damian. There is a lot that I have to talk to him about, says Esthercita.
Damian tells Madrina that he always trusts what she tells him and takes what she says seriously but he thinks it is too late for those premonitions. Madrina is the voice of reason and tells Damian that if he does not listen to the premonitions his marriage will be a disaster. He can't be happy marrying a woman he does not love. So true. Let's hope Damian thinks about this and listens to his Madrina.
Mayuya tells Esthercita that she'd be stupid to ruin everything because of her jealousy. Mayuya says that Esthercita should be thinking about all the preparations for her wedding. She offers to go with her to see Padre to set a date for the wedding. Esthercita refuses to do anything until she talks to Damian. Delfina gets tired of Esthercita's tantrum and tells Esthercita to do what she wants. But don't start whining if Damian gets tired of waiting. Men aren't as illusioned with a wedding like women are and I bet that Damian is less interested in it. I'm warning you so you don't cry and make another scandal when Damian abandons you forever, says Delfina.
Damian tells Madrina that she's in love but not with Esthercita. He's in love with another woman.
Marina fresh out of the shower and in a towel thinks about the kiss with Damian. Marina says that what happened never happened and she won't give it any importance so Damian won't either. She wonders how Damian came into her head and heart. She says that she has to get Damian out of her feelings.
Damian pours his heart out to Madrina and tells her that he does not know how he fell in love with Marina. But ever since he met Marina his life has been a tempest of feelings and emotions. They fight all day but he can recognize her courage. She's the only woman that has confronted him and not only that she's the only one that has been able to defeat him sometimes. Madrina tells Damian that all that he has just said confirms her premonition. Damian tells Madrina that he has lived that tempest with an emotional imbalance. He now knows that his heart was telling him that the woman that he needed to make him happy had finally come. Madrina says that she always told him that the woman who he'd fall in love with would have the name of the sea and she was not mistaken. You are in love with Mar.in.a, says Madrina. (Get it. MAR-INA) Madrina asks Damian if he remembers Don Ariel. Damian doesn't. Madrina tells Damian that Don Ariel brought his daughter with him once to town and she and Damian were inseparable. You called her "trenzuda" (pigtails) and she called you "guerito" (blondie). Damian doesn't really remember everything but he does remember putting his handprints with her in wet cement. Madrina asks him if he remembers who the girl was and if he ever heard her name. Madrina says that the girl also had the name of the sea. Mar. Mar. Mar. says Madrina. Damian realizes that Madrina is talking about Marina. Damian says that it can't be. We haven't recognized each other, says Damian. You two were so young and you only saw each other once, says Madrina. Madrina tells Damian that Marina is his destiny.
Esthercita hit you. And Damain hit Hernan, whines Beatriz. Can we expect for someone to come and kill us one day? whines Beatriz. Jose says that won't ever happen. Jose says that he thinks her nerves have made her a little unsettled. Umm, me thinks Beatriz just likes to whine and worry ALOT. Anyway, Jose tells Beatriz not to worry. Marina assures Beatriz that nothing will get out of control. But Hernan...says Beatriz. Marina tells Beatriz that she never asked Hernan for help and he had no right to reprimand Damian. What happens between Damian and me is my business because Damian is my employee, says Marina.
Damian nostalgically looks up to the sky.
We see a brief image of Michel Fabre.
Damian says that even though he has gotten used to his absence he still misses him. Damian misses his father's advice and more now that he is feeling a tempest in his heart.
Marina says that she needs no one to defend him. Beatriz whines that the packing plant has only brought problems. Marina says that it has brought satisfactions too. Marina has made the quality of the packing plant go up. She's determined to make the packing plant become an international business. She wants to do it to give that satisfaction to Mercedes. Beatriz whines that Mercedes has only brought problems to their lives. Beatriz says that she would have given anything so Marina would have never met Mercedes. Just shut up and eat your meal, Beatriz!
Mercedes gives some instructions to some employees at her cabaret. Mercedes and Alicia go up to their table. Mercedes asks for two glasses of champagne. Alicia tells Mercedes that everything will turn out fine. Nothing has ever not turned out fine for Mercedes. Mercedes says in business it is that way but not in my personal life. Alicia asks Mercedes if she wants to continue pouring her heart out. The waiter tells Mercedes that her glasses of champagne will be there soon. Mercedes calls the waiter Captain. Mercedes jokes around about having a Captain of waiters in the city and having had a Captain of a ship in Nuestra Señora Del Mar. Michel Fabre, says Alicia. Yeah, says Mercedes. Mercedes tells Alicia that Michel Fabre has been the only man that she ever loved. She has never been able to forget Michel.
Damian tells his father that he and his Madrina have always taught him that the word of a man is worth a lot and it should always be respected. He says that all that is what has made him what he is. But he never imagined that it would be so difficult when he had found who to give his heart to. He says that Marina will only ever be a dream for him because Marina is out of his reach. Then there is Esthercita. He doesn't love her but he can't allow Esthercita to be signaled out and looked down on because of his fault. He asks his dad to tell him what he should do. Let's hope that Michel tells him to dump Esthercita and be with Marina. Come on, Michel.
Mercedes and Alicia have their glass of champagne as they chat and laugh. Alicia asks Mercedes how come she didn't marry Michel if she loved him so much. Because he never saw me like a woman. I was only his best friend. I couldn't stand being near him without being able to tell him that I loved him and that I wanted to be with him and thats why I left. I left and later I let Ernesto deceive me. I left the town to face a destiny that I was not ready for it. I left because I was convinced that Michel would never be mine, says Mercedes.
Padre, Rosario, JazLu, and Lazaro have lunch. Rosario starts the interrogation. She wants to know more about JazLu. Does she study? Does she work? Or does she only help around her house? Lazaro says that JazLu is a nurse. What hospital do you work in? asks Rosario. Because I never saw you at the local hospital, says Rosario. Lazaro says that JazLu takes care of some senior citizens. Rosario tells Lazaro to let the poor girl speak. I have to agree with Rosario here. Seriously, Lazaro let JazLu speak. You are just making things worse with all your lies. Anyway, JazLu says that she tends to some senior citizens at their home. Rosario thinks that it is strange that JazLu didn't give her anything when she tripped and sprained her ankle. Ok, Rosraio just got annyoing again. Padre tells Rosario that JazLu is only a nurse and not a doctor and can't give a diagnosis.
Bettina comes outside in her robe fresh out of the shower. Nereo wakes up and asks if the food is ready. He wants to know why Bettina is fresh out of the shower. Are you going partying? he asks. He wants to know where Jazmin is. Nereo calls out Jazmin's name. Bettina tells Nereo that he sent her to buy a bottle of rum. Do you think I'm stupid? There is a bottle of rum right there, says Nereo. Nereo gets violent with Bettina and wants to know where Jazmin is. He is about to punch her in the face when Bettina grabs a skillet and starts whacking him on the head with it. Nereo falls down unconscious. Bettina continues to whack him some more with the skillet but then stops. Why??? She should have whacked him some more. I would have. Anyway, she asks herself what she has just done and says she has to get out of there because Nereo will kill her. Bettina runs. Nereo wakes up. See, I knew Bettina should have whacked him some more.
Padre asks JazLu if she lives with her parents. JazLu says that she lives with a brother and a sister. Rosario wants to know if her siblings are good Christians. Shut up, Rosario. JazLu says that of course they are good Christians. The three of them live in peace and love each other. Lazaro and JazLu look at each other after all the lies they have told.
Nereo has gone inside for his rifle. He leaves it and decides to get his bow and arrow set instead. He goes after Bettina.
Rosario, Padre, JazLu, and Lazaro are coming out of the house. JazLu is leaving. Rosario asks her if she wants to try some cake. JazLu says that she has to leave because it is late. Lazaro wants to go with JazLu. JazLu says no. My brother is very jealous and I wouldn't want him to get upset because he sees me with someone. Rosario likes how her brother thinks. She will go and have a talk with JazLu's brother so he'll know what kind of people they are. JazLu says that she'll talk with his brother. She doesn't want Rosario to go through the trouble of talking with her brother. Rosario says that it is not trouble at all. Some prostitutes are passing by and Rosario tells Lazaro to get inside. She don't want no prostitutes to get near her little boy. JazLu takes a look at the prostitutes and is like Oh! Snap!. JazLu says that she has changed her mind and does want some cake. She runs inside with Lazaro. The prostitutes pass by and Rosario says that the prostitutes have no shame. Selling their bodies as if it were a piece of meat. This woman must think she is so perfect and free of sin. Anyway, Padre reminds Rosario that the prostitutes are God's children as well and if they made mistakes one day they'll realize it and come back on the good path. Padre and Rosario go back inside.
Marina is giving instructions at the packing plant. Hernan comes to see Marina. He smiles at her. He greets her and kisses her on the cheek. Marina asks Hernan to come with her. She takes her somewhere else at the plant. Marina is pissed off at him. She chews him out and tells him that she don't need anyone to fight for her. Hernan says that she is alone with her mother there and that someone needed to tell that imbecile that she has someone who will defend her. She thanks him but she asks him once again in the name of their friendship to not confront Damian again or anyone. Hernan tells Marina that she loves him. Marina asks Hernan if he fought with Damian because he was jealous. Hernan laughs at this. Jealous me? Of that cretin? That fisherman would never be like me. He's so little compared to me. How can you think that I'd be jealous of that imbecile? says Hernan. Marina is obviously disgusted by what Hernan just said and says that she has to leave because she has a lot of work to do. Marina starts to leave. Hernan says that he feels bad for having put her in a bad mood. Marina tells him not worry about it and excuses herself. She goes to her office.
Damian walks around town and he holds his necklace. He approaches the wet cement where he and Marina put their handprints.
He puts his hand over the handprint of his hand when he was a kid.
He remembers the day when he and Marina put their handprints in the wet cement.
Marina, he says.
He takes a look at his coral necklace which also now has a shark tooth.
AVANCES: Hernan and Fulgencio want Damian dead. What else is new?? They have been wanting him dead since Cap 1. Damian has a heart to heart with Marina at church.

I think our new mantra will be "Shut up Bea, and Shut up Rosario'! They both need to shut it. Their children are grown and can make their own decisions.

Thanks Mauricio for the very detailed post. It's good to be back in this blog. I have missed all the funny posts and comments. I re-read old cuidado con el angel and el sortilegio posts from time to time because they are so funny. I haven't watched any telenovela as of late since I haven't found one interesting lately. I am glad to see william levy back in a telenovela.
Every time I watch a telenovela, I wonder WHY? There is no logic to what the characters do, but then I have to remind myself that we are dealing with telenovela logic.
There are three things I found bothersome in La Tempestad: Beatriz, Estercita, and Damian's hair. Beatriz need to find some hobby and get off Marina's back or marry Hernan herself. She is so dense. Estercita is a trainwreck and Damian's hair is so frizzy. They should style it in a pony tail or curl it like Hernan or something.
Every time I watch a telenovela, I wonder WHY? There is no logic to what the characters do, but then I have to remind myself that we are dealing with telenovela logic.

In addition to having fun with Hernans colored pants, the wardrobe dept. is going great guns with Marinas maritime wardrobe. I've now seen two navy and white stripe tops, a pair of striped pants, even her work clothes are usually a solid dress in red, blue or white (remember the tennis dress?!). I think we will be seeing lots more stripes before this TN is over. Maybe we need an "Anchors Away" collection for the Storm Cellar Bay?!

Great recap Mauricio! I enjoy your editorial comments to and about the characters. Also your words of encouragement: "Let's hope that Michel tells him to dump Esthercita and be with Marina. Come on, Michel." I was cheering too but I don't think Michel heard us.

One small correction - JazLu said that she took care of senior citizens at their home not at her house. I just noticed that mistake. I will fix it in the recap later. Right now I am typing on my iPhone.

This is a reposting of my observations on THE KISS from last night:
You all have been commenting on how stiff Marina was during their first kiss.
We should remember that she's intrigued by him, she went to the cavern to find him, did not expect a kiss--got a confrontation instead, provoked and started to give him a slap. Then an attractive man she feels something for gets very face-to-face close to her.
I think Marina the character was a bit nervous, but really got into it until El Dam Fab Cap put his hand under her blouse. She said no, but didn't back away from him. He tried again and that time she said no a little louder and backed away from him and left. It'll be interesting to watch how they treat each other knowing that they liked what happened.
Madrina Eusebia certainly is preparing the groundwork, taking them both back to a childhood episode that was sweet (though not memorable). This is what will help smooth out their rough encounters.
As far as the best kisser in the business, it has to be WL. (See the side bar, in between Dona Barbara and Al Diablo Con los Guapos--in my earlier incarnation, hehe.)
More later--it's a gorgeous day here and I'm going to spend it outside.

So now we know that Michel Fabre was the love of Mercedes' life. So now I hope we get where she met Ariel, had his twins, and then gave one to Ariel and Bea. I wonder if Ariel even knew Mercedes had those twins. I'm thinking he didn't. I don't think Ernesto knew that Mercedes had twins or else he would have stolen Marina too. Maybe Mercedes arranged for Marina to end up with Ariel and Bea for safekeeping so Ernesto couldn't get rid of her as he did Magdalena. I can't wait for some of these back stories.

Shallowgal: ITA re the work clothes. It made me crazy when Elisa on AdeP used to sashay in to work in lace shorty shorts and a tank top. I think Marina is a very professional dresser (tennis dress aside) and looks great in everything she wears. Also love her big gold chokers.

Mauricio thanks for your recap. ITA agreed w/you assessment of Bettina and the skillet. I too asked why did she stop; she needed to at least knock him out for a long period of time. She also underestimated his evilness as he will not hesitate to kill her.
At least Bea has a partner and those of us on the patio and shout shut up Bea/Rosario. If Bea is alive by the end of the TN, I wonder what she'll think of creepy Hernan when the truth comes out?

Well, I am back home from vacation and finally got to watch an episode, or, half of it, because I was falling asleep. (Not a good sign….) I might not be able to watch this one, anyway, but enjoy the recaps.
The kiss-in-the-cave scene was visually surrealistic, what with that spotlight shining down, etc. I was half expecting Damian to sprout a beard, reach up to the sky, and receive the ten commandments on tablets from the heavens above.
Does the Patio think there is chemistry between Marina and Damian? I failed to detect any. That cave beso scene seemed rather cold, Marina was stiff, and Damian looked ticked off at her when he wasn't kissing her. This is the first episode I have gotten to watch, so it's just my first impression.
Esthercita looks like she is channeling Gaby Spanic's "Ivana" in STuD. Yikes. From the hair to raiding her clothes closet.

Doris, the patio feels William Levy could have chemistry with a wall. Ximena could warm up a little, she is a newbie to acting. But generally, I do think they have some good chemistry.

Sylvia, I'm always surprised when people complain about telenovelas (although I do it myself, especially with that circus known as Que Bonito Amor), you have to stop and realize that its a freaking telenovela. It iss not meant to be smart, it is not meant to make us smarter, it's just there to entertain, some pull it off, while others are just too painful to watch- but awesome to mock. Listen, the odds of the things that happen in telenovelas being real or making sense are close to none. I bet not one of us knows a woman whose baby was kidnapped and sold while her other baby was given to her amantes wife. I also doubt any of us ever met someone who had a long lost evil twin who tried to take over their life and then got amnesia and left their new born baby in a dump. My point is, it's a telenovela! Chill out and enjoy it with a bag of Cheetos and some beer. If you think it's that stupid go read a book, now *that* will make you smart. End of rant

I knew I was right to chose El senor de los Cielos over QBA, mainly because of Mejia. El Senor was great.
I am enjoying this one so far but expect it to jump the shark sooner than later. WL is deliciosa though, so I'll hang in until it reaches CI level. So many good people in this one. I don't know how Mejia gets them, the pay must be really good.

Eli, thanks for your defense of tns. I agree 100%. I may not watch with Cheetos and Beer but, I do have my Coke and some chocolate when I watch. :) To me it is all about the fun who would watch if it was all true to life.
I have to say I wish Marina had whooped up on E. I wish Marina had some serious martial arts training and knocked E on her butt. I think E and Hernan are becoming like rabid animals with their obsessive stalking of DamFab and Marina. Whoa!

I loved Mayuya's smile when she was listening in on the fishermen. She really does hate that girl, how did they ever become BFF's.
Marina helping the lady was a bit random for me. I was like that come out of left field. I know Marina is a good person and it is a small town but, most of us don't go up to people who are crying hysterically and offer assistance.
Our dear Marina was giving mixed signals to everyone including herself. I don't have sympathy for the stalker known as, Hernan but didn't she say she would talk to him at the factory and then wigged on him completely when he was there.

Eli, thanks for your defense of tns. I agree 100%. I may not watch with Cheetos and Beer but, I do have my Coke and some chocolate when I watch. :) To me it is all about the fun who would watch if it was all true to life.
I have to say I wish Marina had whooped up on E. I wish Marina had some serious martial arts training and knocked E on her butt. I think E and Hernan are becoming like rabid animals with their obsessive stalking of DamFab and Marina. Whoa!
