La Tempestad, Capitulo 17. August 20th 2013.
Lo De Ayer:
DamFab and Marina chat, they dance, he sings Besame Mucho to her, he asks for a kiss, she is not feeling well and needs some air, he takes her outside. They leave. Bagre tells Lolo that maybe tomorrow there will be no wedding. Outside, DamFab tells Marina that she was brave to come to the bar since it isn't the place for a someone so refined as she is. Marina tells DamFab that she isn't a refined woman. She's a dummy. She never imagined falling in love. She thought that would never happen to her. DamFab tells Marina that she is trembling just like the day he kissed her. DamFab and Marina kiss.

Marina stops kissing. DamFab tells Marina to not say anything and to just let herself go. Marina passes out into DamFab's manly muscular arms.
At the plaza, Esthercita and Mayuya are happily enjoying their popsicle sticks. A drunk man approaches them and congratulates Esthercita on her upcoming nuptials. Esthercita and Mayuya are disgusted by the drunk and move away. The drunk tells Esthercita that DamFab is having his bachelor party at the bar. Esthercita wants to go and check in on DamFab. Mayuya doesn't want to go to the bar because the women that go into the bar are women that do not have the best reputation. Esthercita drags Mayuya to the bar because she just has to see what her future husband is up to.
Back outside the bar, DamFab tries to get Marina to walk. DamFab tells Marina that he will take care of her. He picks her up and carries her in his manly muscular arms. Just then, Esthercita and Mayuya show up. Esthercita wants to know what the hell is going on here.
At Marina's house, Mercedes has come over. Mercedes wants to see Marina. Beatriz tells Mercedes that Marina is not home. Beatriz asks Mercedes if she went to the packing plant to look for Marina. Mercedes says that she came from the packing plant and Marina was not there. Mercedes say that Olinto went to go and look for Marina. Beatriz says that it is probable that Marina went out to dinner with Hernan. Mercedes says that she made the trip over there to talk with Marina. Mercedes asks Beatriz if it would be alright if she waited for Marina there. Beatriz says that it is alright for her to wait for Marina there. Beatriz says that she is sure that Marina will be glad to see Mercedes there when she comes home.
Back outside the bar, Esthercita makes a scene. She demands DamFab to let Marina go. Mayuya starts with her Mayuyeses and says that all bachelor parties are like that. Men always leave with women on their last night of singlehood. Esthercita demands DamFab to let Marina go again. DamFab tells her that he isn't going to let her go. He tells Esthercita that Marina passed out and he is going to help her. DamFab tries to go inside the truck. Esthercita gets in his way and tells DamFab that Marina is after him. Esthercita wails and asks DamFab why he is doing this to her. Why does he humiliate her like this? Mayuya tries to grab Esthercita by the arm to get her out of there. Esthercita yells at Mayuya and tells her mind her own beeswax.
At Fulgencio's office, Lara informs Fulgencio that the townspeople were all happy to receive their invitation to the wedding. Lara tells Fulgencio that the townspeople send their greetings, their respect, and their blessings to him. Fulgencio laughs at this. He is glad to finally hear some good news. He mentions giving Lara a promotion. Fulgencio asks about the sound equipment. Valdivia the butt kisser says that he took care of that. He says that Fulgencio will have the best sound equipment to give his big speech.
At church, Delfina and two other women are decorating the church with flowers for the wedding. It is all looking beautiful. Padre tells the women and Delfina that they should all go and rest. Especially Delfina who has been preparing things for the wedding all day. Delfina is tired but she doesn't think that she will sleep tonight because she still has other things to do to prepare for the wedding. Padre assumes that Esthercita is helping out. Delfina says that Esthercita is so excited about the wedding that she's like a grasshopper jumping up and and down from place to place. Delfina prefers that Esthercita not help because she would drive her crazy. Besides, Esthercita is the bride and she should be well rested for her wedding. Padre agrees that Esthercita should be well rested for her wedding, but he doesn't think that it is fair that Delfina be doing all the work. Padre tells Delfina that she has spoiled Esthercita. Delfina agrees. Delfina says that she has pampered Esthercita too much and thats why she is so rebellious and talks back just like her father. Delfina hopes that Esthercita matures (I think we all are hoping that she matures too) because the life of a married woman isn't easy. (Yep, especially when the husband does not love the wife. Their married life is sure going to be hell if they do get married)
Back outside the bar, Esthercita asks DamFab if he's cheating on her with Marina. DamFab wants to take Marina home. DamFab says that Candy let her borrow the truck. Esthercita tells DamFab that he can't leave her like this. She is his girlfriend and tomorrow is their wedding. DamFab puts Marina into the truck. Esthercita tells DamFab that he better not dare and do it. She tries to grab him and DamFab tells her not to touch him. DamFab tells Esthercita that she does not have to touch him. DamFab walks on over to the driver's seat of the truck. DamFab tells Esthercita that he will come back later so they can talk. Esthercita keeps on calling out his name. DadmFab gets into the truck. Esthercita slams her purse on the truck. She yells that they have nothing to talk about. Tomorrow is their wedding and she will arrive in her father's arm. And if he comes to the wedding it is because he decided to be her husband. DamFab listens to Esthercita's rant from the truck. (Come on DamFab, this whole scene should be telling you that Esthercita is nuts and needs help) DamFab lets Esthercita finish her rant before starting the truck. Mayuya pulls Esthercita away. DamFab drives off.
Back at Marina's house, Beatriz asks Mercedes how long has she known Marina. SuperCoolTiaRebca tells Beatriz to not begin with the interrogation. Beatriz says that it not an interrogation. She is only curious (well curiousity killed the cat, Beatriz, and if you knew the truth of how long Mercedes has known Marina then it might kill you too) Beatriz asks Mercedes if it bothers her for her to be asking those things. Mercedes says that it does not bother her. Jose from the kitchen listens in on the conversation. Mercedes says that she does not know Marina that long but she feels with Marina a special fondness. Beatriz tells Mercedes that Marina won't disapoint her. Marina has exerted all her strength to raise the packing plant up. Marina has taken the job seriously as if she were the owner of the packing plant. Marina is very responsible and a good worker. Mercedes says that she Marina's professional history very well. Mercedes says that Marina is a woman who likes challanges. She is strong and is well trained. Beatriz says that Marina is grateful to Mercedes for having trusted her. Mercedes says that Marina has nothing to thank her for. Mercedes is the one who is debt with Marina. Mercedes knows very well that being in charge of the packing plant has not been easy. Beatriz says that she knows of the problems of the packing plant from Marina. Beatriz then asks Mercedes the bombing question - How did you end up staying with the packing plant? It is to my understanding that my deceased husband founded it. Was it him who sold the packing plant to you? Mercedes is speechless. Good thing Jose was in the kitchen and had listened in on the converstaion. Jose drops the coffee that he was bringing to the table on purpse although he makes it look like it was an accident. I sure hope it was not Beatriz's best china. Mercedes has been saved by the bell err dropping of the china.
On the street, DamFab runs into Olinto. Olinto asks DamFab if he has seen Marina. DamFab says that he did. DamFab saw Marina drink too much and pass out in his manly muscular arms. DamFab says that he's taking Marina home. Olinto says that he can't do that. DamFab does not know what the problem is. He will take Marina home and explain to Beatriz what happened and Beatriz will understand (I have my doubts that Beatriz would understand). Olinto tells DamFab that Mercedes arrived and is looking for Marina to talk to her. DamFab thinks that they should sober up Marina then. They will do this at La Tempestad. He tells Olinto to follow him.
At Hernan's house, our not so beloved ex-nerd violinist Hernan asks his goons Lara and Valdivia if the explosives were well put under the sailboat. Lara assures him that that explosives won't be found until the sailboat blows up out at sea. I want to know where those goons Lara and Valdvida get all those explosives. Anyway, Hernan is excited about blowing up the sailboat. He says that he will kill two birds with one stone - he'll kill DamFab and get revenge on Fulgencio by killing his only daughter. PS: Is there a word for someone who likes to blow things up? Because our not so beloved ex-nerd violinist sure likes to blow things up. This is the second time he wants to blow something up.
Back at Beatriz's house, Jose aplogizes for having dropped the china. Beatriz, SuperCoolTiaRebeca, and Mercedes head for the living room. Mercedes spots a family portratit of Ariel, Beatriz, and Marina as a baby. Mercedes stares at the portrait. Beatriz notices Mercedes staring at the portrait. Beatriz talking about the portrait says that Ariel and Marina are the loves of her life. Mercedes is about to fall over but she holds her balance. SuperCoolTiaRebeca asks if she isn't feeling good. Mercedes says that she's fine.
At La Tempestad, DamFab carries Marina over to the bed in his cabin. Olinto brings some cold coffee. DamFab tries to get Marina to drink the coffee. Olinto wants to know what happened. Why did Marina drink the way she did? DamFab tells Olinto to not ask questions. DamFab sends Olinto to get some chicken soup. Olinto runs off to get the chicken soup. DamFabre tries to wake Marina up. Marina wakes up. DamFab tells Marina that Mercedes is looking for her. Marina wants to go and see Mercedes. She tries to get up and but can barely stand up. DamFab helps Marina back into bed. Marina asks DamFab if he spoke with Mercedes. Did you tell her that I was here? asks Marina. DamFab tells Marina that he did not speak with Mercedes but Olinto did. DamFab gives Marina the coffee to drink. Marina drinks the coffee. DamFab goes to get Marina a glass of water. Marina says that she has to sober up.
At Hernan's house, our not so beloved ex-nerd violinist is now reciting something from a book. Me thinks it a poem. Or maybe he's looking at a pic of Marina in his high school yearbook. Who knows with this nutcase. Anyway, whatever it is it that he is looking at he talks about love and about destiny bringing Marina and him together. (although we all know that it was his creepy stalking that brought them together) Hernan says that Marina will never ever move away from his side again. What a weirdo.
DamFab returns to his empty cabin with a glass of water. He goes looking for Marina out on deck but Marina is nowhere to be found. He sits on the cooler out on deck. Damian tells himself to forget Marina already. Damian tells himself that Marina is not the woman for him.
Out on the streets, Marina runs into Olinto. Marina asks Olinto to take her home. Olinto gives her the chicken soup. Olinto asks Marina how she is feeling. Marina says that she feels a little better but she her head is still spinning. Marina asks what Mercedes is doing there and when she arived. Olinto tells Marina that Mercedes' visit was a surprise and she will be leaving tonight. Olinto tells Marina that before leaving Mercedes wants to talk to her. Marina asks Olinto if Mercedes told him what she wanted to talk to her about. Olinto does not know. Marina wants to wants to fix herself up and wash her face because she can't present herself to Mercedes the way she is now. Marina will go and do all of this at the packing plant. Olinto asks what happened. What were you doing at the bar with DamFab? Nothing, I just did something stupid, says Marina. They leave for the packing plant.
In his cabin, DamFab recalls the kiss plus some extra hot sexy moment with Marina in which we see a shirtless DamFab picking up Marina who is wearing a white dress. Was this moment in Marina's hot steamy dream? Bagre comes into the cabin. He wants to know what happened with Marina. DamFab tells Bagre that Marina admitted that she still feels something for him. Bagre thinks this is good news. Bagre asks DamFab what's wrong then. DamFab thinks that Marina's words were because she was drunk. I guess DamFab has never heard that Spanish saying "Los niños y borrachos siempre dicen la verdad" (kids and drunks always tell the truth). DamFab says that the reality is that nothing will happen between him and Marina. Bagre tells DamFab that it is obvious that Marina is crazy for him beause if she weren't she would not have shown up at the bar. DamFab says that Marina feels bad because she knows that he left the packing plant beacause of her. Because he won't be able to see her everyday without being able to have her in his manly muscular arms and tell her how much he loves her. Bagre tells DamFab to not be blind (and I think we are all thinking of telling him the same thing). A refined and education woman like Marina in a bar de mala muerte drinking cheap liquor with you and admitting to you that she feels something for you. It doesn't have everyday. And your here without doing anything instead of going to look for her. What is wrong with you? asks Bagre. DamFab says that he doesn't know what is happening to him. The truth is that ever since Marina has come into DamFab's life he doesn't know what he does, who he is, he doesn't know anything. All he knows is that he loves Marina more every day.
At Marina's house, Marina is still not home and Mercedes has to leave. Mercedes will talk with Marina on the phone. She would have liked to have seen and spoken to Marina to see how she is. SuperCoolTiaRebeca says that Marina could come home any minute afterall Olinto went looking for her. Marina arrives home. Marina apologizes for having made Mercedes wait for so long. Mercedes says that it was her fault. She should have told Marina that she was coming. Olinto says that Marina was talking to the crew. Organizing things and giving instructions to Bagre who is the new Captain. Mercedes tells Marina that they'll talk on the way. Her helicopter is about to arrive. Mercedes tells Beatriz that she has been an exemplery mother to Marina. She congratulates Beatriz and says that Marina owes Beatriz what she is. Beatriz thanks Mercedes for her kind words. Beatriz tells Mercedes that she is a lady with a great personality. Beatriz tells Mercedes that she's proud that Marina is working for her. So much for her wishing that Marina never met Mercedes. Jose tells Mercedes that they have to leave. Mercedes tells Marina to come with her because they have important things to talk about. Mercedes, Marin, and Olinto leave. Beatriz comments to SuperTiaRebeca that there were some gestures in Mercedes that reminded her of Marina. It was almost if there was some bond that united them, says Beatriz. Yep, its the bond of mother and daughter.
In the car, Mercedes asks Marina if there is anything new on DamFab's resignaton. Marina says no. DamFab and she were not able to come to an agreement. In what sense - in the personal or professional? asks Mercedes. Marina doesn't understand why their relationship has to have a personal sense too. Mercedes asks if there was a personal treatment. Marina admits that there was but she and DamFab are like agua y aciente (oil and water). Mercedes tells Marina that she found out that DamFab is getting married. Marian says that she sees that Mercedes is well informed. Mercedes says that information is the base of power. Mercedes asks Marina if DamFab resigned from the packing plant permantely and if she was not able to convince him not to. Marina says that she was not able to convince not to resign. Mercedes says that this is a bad moment for this to happen. It could ruin their plans. They are in a crucial moment. Marina does not understand - they have complied with the deliveries and sales have gone up. It turns out that the packing plant has gotten a good contract which requires them to provide ten tons of their best product for the following month. Marina is like ten tons???
Commante Robles and Jazmin are having din din at a local restuarant. He tells her what his mission in town is - to dimsantle a band of people involve in white slavery and find the heads of the band and make them pay. He tells her that they received a call alerting them and later they talked with a girl who was able to esacpe. Jazmin thinks to herself that it was probably Norma whom they talked to. Jazmin asks Commandate Robles who the girl was. But Commandate Robles can't tell her because it is confidential information as well as the name of the woman who alerted them to a band of people involved in white slavery in the capital. Commandante Robles mentions that the woman has dedicated herself to finding her daughter. Commandate Robles now wants to talk about Jazmin. He asks her who she got those beautfiul eyes from.
Mercedes says that if they can delivery the ten tons of fish then every month they will have to fo the same thing. Marina thinks it will be impossible. Mercedes says that it does seem impossible but thats why she offered her half of the packing plant. Mercedes tells Marina that she won't able to get the ten tons without DamFab. Mercedes tells Marina to think about what she will do to hire DamFab again. Mercedes calls out Jose's name. He opens the door and she gets out. Now out of the car, Mercedes asks Jose if she was too hard on Marina. Jose says that Mercedes was demanding. Jose asks Mercedes if she thinks that Marina is up for the challange. Mercedes says that time will tell.
It's the big day. It is the wedding of DamFab and Esthercita. At Esthercita's house, Fulgencio is rehearsing his speech as he and Delfina wait for Esthercita to get ready for her wedding. Esthercita finally comes out along with her bridesmaid Mayuya. I must say Esthercita looks very pretty with her wedding dress. The Salzar's and Mayuya leave.
At Madrina's house, DamFab is all dressed up in his father's uniform and is looking mighty handsome. He even has combed his hair. Madrina comes in and tells DamFab that he looks just like his father. It is like seeing Michel Fabre. DamFab tells Madrina that she looks beautiful. Madrina asks DamFab what he's thinking about. DamFab says that he's thinking about Marina. DamFab tells Madrina that Marina went looking for him to tell him that she felt the same thing that he did. Madrina tells DamFab that she knew it. DamFab says that he knew and she knew it too but she didn't want to admit it. Madrina asks DamFab what he and Marina will do if they feel the same thing. DamFab says nothing. It was only a conversation without any consequence. Madrina says that she thought...DamFab says that he thought that things could change too. He says that for a moment he had her in his arms and...he remembers the dance and their is...he says that he shouldn't think about this anymore. He will be married soon and Marina Reverte will be nothing but a memory of something that couldn't be.
At the packing plant, Marina informs Bagre about the ten tons. Do you know how much fish we would need to can ten tons? Marina the ever so prepared business woman has made a calendar. Bagre says that he would have to set sail already because fish aren't waiting to be fished. Bagre says that it would be his first time as the ship Captain. But you have always worked with DamFab, says Marina. Yeah, but I'm not DamFab, says Bagre. I think we can all agree with that. No one is DamFab like the real DamFab. Bagre says that what DamFab has you can't just learn by sailing. What DamFab has is in his blood. DamFab only has to look at the water to know what is under it. DamFab doesn't need a radar, but I do, says Bagre. Marina asks Olinto how long would it take to install a radar. Olinto says that they don't just have to install a radar but would have to order it. It would take three weeks for the radar to arrive. Bagre says that he has all the intention of doing the job. DamFab asked him to after all. But what happens if I fail? asks Bagre. We would have to close the packing plant and a lot of people would be left unemployed, says Marina. Bagre tells Marina that it is too much responsibility for him. Marina says if things go wrong then should would also be responsible. Marina tells Bagre to get things ready. She will set sail with them.
Lolo has arrived at the packing plant looking for Bagre. Lolo can't believe that Bagre is not ready yet. He is the best man after all. Bagre tells Lolo that they have to set sail. Marina ordered it. There is a special job and the packing plant depends on it, says Bagre.
Outside, Hernan's house, our ever so well-mannered ex-nerd violinist talks to that goon Lara. Hernan is sending a wedding gift to DamFab and Esthercita and he asks Lara to take it over there and tell them that it is from him. He will go later. He asks that goon Lara to make sure that the gift arrives before he does. Lara will do as told. Hernan tells Lara that with DamFab about to blow up and Marina at her home it is time to destroy the packing plant. Lara says that Valdivia has enough dynamite to blow up the packing plant. Hernan doesn't want to blow up the packing plant since the feds are there. He was something more subtle. Instead, he wants the packing plant to be set on fire. The fire will erase any evidence. He wants the fire to be tonight. Me thinks that Hernan is pyro. Is that also the word use to call people who like to blow things up?
Everything is ready for the wedding. There is music and singing. The entertainment dances. The place has been beautifuly decorated. The Salazar's and Mayuya arrive at the church. Esthercita wonders why DamFab has not arrived.
At the port, Marina arrives with Olinto. Bagre tells Marina that they are ready. Marina tells Olinto to tell Beatriz not to worry. She'll be back when they have filled up the ship with fish. Olinto the Debbie Downer doesn't think that things will turn out fine. He is sure that that they won't be able to do the job without DamFab. Just then Lolo and DamFab arrive. DamFab tells Marina that he has come to put himself at her orders. Let's sail right now, he says.
Back at the wedding, the entertainment finishes their dance. Valdivia tells Fulgencio that the sound equipment is ready and he can give his big speech already. Fulgencio wants to give his big speech when leaving the church. Valdivia tells Fulgencio that DamFab has not arrived and they can stall by having Fulgencio give his big speech. Esthercita hears that DamFab has not arrived. DamFab has not arrived? she asks. Fulgencio tells Esthercita to not stop smiling. He will go and say a few words. Fulgencio goes up to give his big speech.
Back at the port, Marina asks DamFab what he is doing there. Shouldn't he be getting married? DamFab tells Marina that Lolo told him what is happening. Marina tells DamFab that they will comply with the deliveries. DamFab says that this is serious. If the packing plant closes then half the town would be left unemployed. DamFab says that it is decided. He will go with them. They are together in this. Marina the stubborn fool says that she knows that it is serious but they are not together in anything. He resigned because he was going to get married so he leave because they are waiting for him at the church. DamFab is getting pissed just like me. DamFab tells Marina to accept his help to save the packing plant. He tells her that she needs his help and she knows it. Marina accepts his help. But not now. They can talk about it when he returns from his honeymoom. DamFab says that they won't talk after no honeymoon. As soon as the preist marries him he will be back to set sail. DamFab asks Marina if she will wait for him. Marina says that she will wait for him. DamFab says that he will be back and leaves with Lolo.
Back at the wedding, Fulgencio gives his big speech. I must say that Fulgencio is a good public speaker. Esthercita is on the verge of tears wondering where DamFab is and why he has not arrived. Delfina tells Esthercita to be quiet because Fulgencio is talking. Fulgencio continues with his big speech. The fools err townspeople applaud. Esthercita whines that DamFab can't stand her up on the day of her wedding. Fulgencio talks about being a man of honor and being able to forget the past and thats why today he gives Esthercita in holy matriomonity to DamFab. The fools err townspeople applaud. Padre tells Esthercita to have patience because DamFab will arrive in any moment. DamFab arrives with Lolo. Delfina and Mayuya stand in front of Esthercita to hide her. They do this because of the superstitution that it is bad luck for the groom to see the bride before the wedding. DamFab and Lolo walk into the church.
At Beatriz's house, SuperCoolTiaRebeca wants to attend the wedding too. Hernan shows up and says that he will go with SuperCoolTiaRebeca and Marina. Beatriz tells Hernan that Marina is not home. Beatriz tells Hernan that last night Mercedes came over and told Marina that they had to increase the amount of fish and she has set sail on La Tempestad with the cew. Hernan asks if Marina is out at sea. Beatriz says yeah.
DamFab waits for Esthercita at the altar. Wedding music plays in the background. Esthercita walks down in the aisle in Fulgencio's arm. DamFab thinks back to the previous night and dancing with Marina. He aslo thinks back to other moments with Marina like when they met, when they gazed at each other during the priate attack, and when he brought her flowers. Fulgencio hands Esthercita over to DamFab. Padre begins the ceremony. He skips over a lot of things because he goes straight to the big question. Esthercita Salzar, do you take DamFab to as your legimitate husband. To love and honor in rich and poor. In health and sickness. To be faithful to for the rest of your life until death do you part. Esterchita says I do. Then Padre asks DamFab the same thing. DamFab is silent. Esthercita looks over to him. Madrina and Lolo look at each other. DamFabre still does not answer.

At Hernan's house, our not so beloved ex-nerd violinist Hernan asks his goons Lara and Valdivia if the explosives were well put under the sailboat. Lara assures him that that explosives won't be found until the sailboat blows up out at sea. I want to know where those goons Lara and Valdvida get all those explosives. Anyway, Hernan is excited about blowing up the sailboat. He says that he will kill two birds with one stone - he'll kill DamFab and get revenge on Fulgencio by killing his only daughter. PS: Is there a word for someone who likes to blow things up? Because our not so beloved ex-nerd violinist sure likes to blow things up. This is the second time he wants to blow something up.
Back at Beatriz's house, Jose aplogizes for having dropped the china. Beatriz, SuperCoolTiaRebeca, and Mercedes head for the living room. Mercedes spots a family portratit of Ariel, Beatriz, and Marina as a baby. Mercedes stares at the portrait. Beatriz notices Mercedes staring at the portrait. Beatriz talking about the portrait says that Ariel and Marina are the loves of her life. Mercedes is about to fall over but she holds her balance. SuperCoolTiaRebeca asks if she isn't feeling good. Mercedes says that she's fine.
At La Tempestad, DamFab carries Marina over to the bed in his cabin. Olinto brings some cold coffee. DamFab tries to get Marina to drink the coffee. Olinto wants to know what happened. Why did Marina drink the way she did? DamFab tells Olinto to not ask questions. DamFab sends Olinto to get some chicken soup. Olinto runs off to get the chicken soup. DamFabre tries to wake Marina up. Marina wakes up. DamFab tells Marina that Mercedes is looking for her. Marina wants to go and see Mercedes. She tries to get up and but can barely stand up. DamFab helps Marina back into bed. Marina asks DamFab if he spoke with Mercedes. Did you tell her that I was here? asks Marina. DamFab tells Marina that he did not speak with Mercedes but Olinto did. DamFab gives Marina the coffee to drink. Marina drinks the coffee. DamFab goes to get Marina a glass of water. Marina says that she has to sober up.

Who knows with this nutcase. Anyway, whatever it is it that he is looking at he talks about love and about destiny bringing Marina and him together. (although we all know that it was his creepy stalking that brought them together) Hernan says that Marina will never ever move away from his side again. What a weirdo.
DamFab returns to his empty cabin with a glass of water. He goes looking for Marina out on deck but Marina is nowhere to be found. He sits on the cooler out on deck. Damian tells himself to forget Marina already. Damian tells himself that Marina is not the woman for him.
Out on the streets, Marina runs into Olinto. Marina asks Olinto to take her home. Olinto gives her the chicken soup. Olinto asks Marina how she is feeling. Marina says that she feels a little better but she her head is still spinning. Marina asks what Mercedes is doing there and when she arived. Olinto tells Marina that Mercedes' visit was a surprise and she will be leaving tonight. Olinto tells Marina that before leaving Mercedes wants to talk to her. Marina asks Olinto if Mercedes told him what she wanted to talk to her about. Olinto does not know. Marina wants to wants to fix herself up and wash her face because she can't present herself to Mercedes the way she is now. Marina will go and do all of this at the packing plant. Olinto asks what happened. What were you doing at the bar with DamFab? Nothing, I just did something stupid, says Marina. They leave for the packing plant.
In his cabin, DamFab recalls the kiss plus some extra hot sexy moment with Marina in which we see a shirtless DamFab picking up Marina who is wearing a white dress. Was this moment in Marina's hot steamy dream? Bagre comes into the cabin. He wants to know what happened with Marina. DamFab tells Bagre that Marina admitted that she still feels something for him. Bagre thinks this is good news. Bagre asks DamFab what's wrong then. DamFab thinks that Marina's words were because she was drunk. I guess DamFab has never heard that Spanish saying "Los niños y borrachos siempre dicen la verdad" (kids and drunks always tell the truth). DamFab says that the reality is that nothing will happen between him and Marina. Bagre tells DamFab that it is obvious that Marina is crazy for him beause if she weren't she would not have shown up at the bar. DamFab says that Marina feels bad because she knows that he left the packing plant beacause of her. Because he won't be able to see her everyday without being able to have her in his manly muscular arms and tell her how much he loves her. Bagre tells DamFab to not be blind (and I think we are all thinking of telling him the same thing). A refined and education woman like Marina in a bar de mala muerte drinking cheap liquor with you and admitting to you that she feels something for you. It doesn't have everyday. And your here without doing anything instead of going to look for her. What is wrong with you? asks Bagre. DamFab says that he doesn't know what is happening to him. The truth is that ever since Marina has come into DamFab's life he doesn't know what he does, who he is, he doesn't know anything. All he knows is that he loves Marina more every day.
At Marina's house, Marina is still not home and Mercedes has to leave. Mercedes will talk with Marina on the phone. She would have liked to have seen and spoken to Marina to see how she is. SuperCoolTiaRebeca says that Marina could come home any minute afterall Olinto went looking for her. Marina arrives home. Marina apologizes for having made Mercedes wait for so long. Mercedes says that it was her fault. She should have told Marina that she was coming. Olinto says that Marina was talking to the crew. Organizing things and giving instructions to Bagre who is the new Captain. Mercedes tells Marina that they'll talk on the way. Her helicopter is about to arrive. Mercedes tells Beatriz that she has been an exemplery mother to Marina. She congratulates Beatriz and says that Marina owes Beatriz what she is. Beatriz thanks Mercedes for her kind words. Beatriz tells Mercedes that she is a lady with a great personality. Beatriz tells Mercedes that she's proud that Marina is working for her. So much for her wishing that Marina never met Mercedes. Jose tells Mercedes that they have to leave. Mercedes tells Marina to come with her because they have important things to talk about. Mercedes, Marin, and Olinto leave. Beatriz comments to SuperTiaRebeca that there were some gestures in Mercedes that reminded her of Marina. It was almost if there was some bond that united them, says Beatriz. Yep, its the bond of mother and daughter.
In the car, Mercedes asks Marina if there is anything new on DamFab's resignaton. Marina says no. DamFab and she were not able to come to an agreement. In what sense - in the personal or professional? asks Mercedes. Marina doesn't understand why their relationship has to have a personal sense too. Mercedes asks if there was a personal treatment. Marina admits that there was but she and DamFab are like agua y aciente (oil and water). Mercedes tells Marina that she found out that DamFab is getting married. Marian says that she sees that Mercedes is well informed. Mercedes says that information is the base of power. Mercedes asks Marina if DamFab resigned from the packing plant permantely and if she was not able to convince him not to. Marina says that she was not able to convince not to resign. Mercedes says that this is a bad moment for this to happen. It could ruin their plans. They are in a crucial moment. Marina does not understand - they have complied with the deliveries and sales have gone up. It turns out that the packing plant has gotten a good contract which requires them to provide ten tons of their best product for the following month. Marina is like ten tons???
Commante Robles and Jazmin are having din din at a local restuarant. He tells her what his mission in town is - to dimsantle a band of people involve in white slavery and find the heads of the band and make them pay. He tells her that they received a call alerting them and later they talked with a girl who was able to esacpe. Jazmin thinks to herself that it was probably Norma whom they talked to. Jazmin asks Commandate Robles who the girl was. But Commandate Robles can't tell her because it is confidential information as well as the name of the woman who alerted them to a band of people involved in white slavery in the capital. Commandante Robles mentions that the woman has dedicated herself to finding her daughter. Commandate Robles now wants to talk about Jazmin. He asks her who she got those beautfiul eyes from.
Mercedes says that if they can delivery the ten tons of fish then every month they will have to fo the same thing. Marina thinks it will be impossible. Mercedes says that it does seem impossible but thats why she offered her half of the packing plant. Mercedes tells Marina that she won't able to get the ten tons without DamFab. Mercedes tells Marina to think about what she will do to hire DamFab again. Mercedes calls out Jose's name. He opens the door and she gets out. Now out of the car, Mercedes asks Jose if she was too hard on Marina. Jose says that Mercedes was demanding. Jose asks Mercedes if she thinks that Marina is up for the challange. Mercedes says that time will tell.
It's the big day. It is the wedding of DamFab and Esthercita. At Esthercita's house, Fulgencio is rehearsing his speech as he and Delfina wait for Esthercita to get ready for her wedding. Esthercita finally comes out along with her bridesmaid Mayuya. I must say Esthercita looks very pretty with her wedding dress. The Salzar's and Mayuya leave.
At Madrina's house, DamFab is all dressed up in his father's uniform and is looking mighty handsome. He even has combed his hair. Madrina comes in and tells DamFab that he looks just like his father. It is like seeing Michel Fabre. DamFab tells Madrina that she looks beautiful. Madrina asks DamFab what he's thinking about. DamFab says that he's thinking about Marina. DamFab tells Madrina that Marina went looking for him to tell him that she felt the same thing that he did. Madrina tells DamFab that she knew it. DamFab says that he knew and she knew it too but she didn't want to admit it. Madrina asks DamFab what he and Marina will do if they feel the same thing. DamFab says nothing. It was only a conversation without any consequence. Madrina says that she thought...DamFab says that he thought that things could change too. He says that for a moment he had her in his arms and...he remembers the dance and their is...he says that he shouldn't think about this anymore. He will be married soon and Marina Reverte will be nothing but a memory of something that couldn't be.
At the packing plant, Marina informs Bagre about the ten tons. Do you know how much fish we would need to can ten tons? Marina the ever so prepared business woman has made a calendar. Bagre says that he would have to set sail already because fish aren't waiting to be fished. Bagre says that it would be his first time as the ship Captain. But you have always worked with DamFab, says Marina. Yeah, but I'm not DamFab, says Bagre. I think we can all agree with that. No one is DamFab like the real DamFab. Bagre says that what DamFab has you can't just learn by sailing. What DamFab has is in his blood. DamFab only has to look at the water to know what is under it. DamFab doesn't need a radar, but I do, says Bagre. Marina asks Olinto how long would it take to install a radar. Olinto says that they don't just have to install a radar but would have to order it. It would take three weeks for the radar to arrive. Bagre says that he has all the intention of doing the job. DamFab asked him to after all. But what happens if I fail? asks Bagre. We would have to close the packing plant and a lot of people would be left unemployed, says Marina. Bagre tells Marina that it is too much responsibility for him. Marina says if things go wrong then should would also be responsible. Marina tells Bagre to get things ready. She will set sail with them.
Lolo has arrived at the packing plant looking for Bagre. Lolo can't believe that Bagre is not ready yet. He is the best man after all. Bagre tells Lolo that they have to set sail. Marina ordered it. There is a special job and the packing plant depends on it, says Bagre.
Outside, Hernan's house, our ever so well-mannered ex-nerd violinist talks to that goon Lara. Hernan is sending a wedding gift to DamFab and Esthercita and he asks Lara to take it over there and tell them that it is from him. He will go later. He asks that goon Lara to make sure that the gift arrives before he does. Lara will do as told. Hernan tells Lara that with DamFab about to blow up and Marina at her home it is time to destroy the packing plant. Lara says that Valdivia has enough dynamite to blow up the packing plant. Hernan doesn't want to blow up the packing plant since the feds are there. He was something more subtle. Instead, he wants the packing plant to be set on fire. The fire will erase any evidence. He wants the fire to be tonight. Me thinks that Hernan is pyro. Is that also the word use to call people who like to blow things up?
Everything is ready for the wedding. There is music and singing. The entertainment dances. The place has been beautifuly decorated. The Salazar's and Mayuya arrive at the church. Esthercita wonders why DamFab has not arrived.
At the port, Marina arrives with Olinto. Bagre tells Marina that they are ready. Marina tells Olinto to tell Beatriz not to worry. She'll be back when they have filled up the ship with fish. Olinto the Debbie Downer doesn't think that things will turn out fine. He is sure that that they won't be able to do the job without DamFab. Just then Lolo and DamFab arrive. DamFab tells Marina that he has come to put himself at her orders. Let's sail right now, he says.
Back at the wedding, the entertainment finishes their dance. Valdivia tells Fulgencio that the sound equipment is ready and he can give his big speech already. Fulgencio wants to give his big speech when leaving the church. Valdivia tells Fulgencio that DamFab has not arrived and they can stall by having Fulgencio give his big speech. Esthercita hears that DamFab has not arrived. DamFab has not arrived? she asks. Fulgencio tells Esthercita to not stop smiling. He will go and say a few words. Fulgencio goes up to give his big speech.
Back at the port, Marina asks DamFab what he is doing there. Shouldn't he be getting married? DamFab tells Marina that Lolo told him what is happening. Marina tells DamFab that they will comply with the deliveries. DamFab says that this is serious. If the packing plant closes then half the town would be left unemployed. DamFab says that it is decided. He will go with them. They are together in this. Marina the stubborn fool says that she knows that it is serious but they are not together in anything. He resigned because he was going to get married so he leave because they are waiting for him at the church. DamFab is getting pissed just like me. DamFab tells Marina to accept his help to save the packing plant. He tells her that she needs his help and she knows it. Marina accepts his help. But not now. They can talk about it when he returns from his honeymoom. DamFab says that they won't talk after no honeymoon. As soon as the preist marries him he will be back to set sail. DamFab asks Marina if she will wait for him. Marina says that she will wait for him. DamFab says that he will be back and leaves with Lolo.
Back at the wedding, Fulgencio gives his big speech. I must say that Fulgencio is a good public speaker. Esthercita is on the verge of tears wondering where DamFab is and why he has not arrived. Delfina tells Esthercita to be quiet because Fulgencio is talking. Fulgencio continues with his big speech. The fools err townspeople applaud. Esthercita whines that DamFab can't stand her up on the day of her wedding. Fulgencio talks about being a man of honor and being able to forget the past and thats why today he gives Esthercita in holy matriomonity to DamFab. The fools err townspeople applaud. Padre tells Esthercita to have patience because DamFab will arrive in any moment. DamFab arrives with Lolo. Delfina and Mayuya stand in front of Esthercita to hide her. They do this because of the superstitution that it is bad luck for the groom to see the bride before the wedding. DamFab and Lolo walk into the church.
At Beatriz's house, SuperCoolTiaRebeca wants to attend the wedding too. Hernan shows up and says that he will go with SuperCoolTiaRebeca and Marina. Beatriz tells Hernan that Marina is not home. Beatriz tells Hernan that last night Mercedes came over and told Marina that they had to increase the amount of fish and she has set sail on La Tempestad with the cew. Hernan asks if Marina is out at sea. Beatriz says yeah.
DamFab waits for Esthercita at the altar. Wedding music plays in the background. Esthercita walks down in the aisle in Fulgencio's arm. DamFab thinks back to the previous night and dancing with Marina. He aslo thinks back to other moments with Marina like when they met, when they gazed at each other during the priate attack, and when he brought her flowers. Fulgencio hands Esthercita over to DamFab. Padre begins the ceremony. He skips over a lot of things because he goes straight to the big question. Esthercita Salzar, do you take DamFab to as your legimitate husband. To love and honor in rich and poor. In health and sickness. To be faithful to for the rest of your life until death do you part. Esterchita says I do. Then Padre asks DamFab the same thing. DamFab is silent. Esthercita looks over to him. Madrina and Lolo look at each other. DamFabre still does not answer.
Avances: Will DamFab say I do or say I don't and put an end to this farce. Tune in tonight to find out!

Mads, oh yes there are SO MANY clues but Estercita is truly clueless. Also, I do agree that Bea is wishy-washy, not a firecracker like her sister.
What bad luck for Estercita to run into DamFab carrying Marina, but it's another good excuse for one of her world-class tantrums.

But since he's off to the Tempest with Marina instead of a toxic honeymoon sailboat ride with Ester, I think everyone should be happy. The church "union" will not be consummated so it should be easy to get an annulment. And really is a crying shame that Ester is not a sailor so she could take boat out herself. Kaboom!

Can't wait for part 2, Mauricio! I came THIS close to throwing the remote at the TV screen when the episode ended on that cliffhanger.
I honestly have no idea whether or not Dam Fab will say the magic words. Like Anon 11:57 said, maybe he will and opt for an annulment later on. Another big question is whether or not Pestercita (love the nickname) will survive. Will she be disfigured? Will she disappear? I seriously can't wait for tonight's episode.

Thank you, Mauricio, for a fabulous part I. Love your references to Esthercita. The woman is beyond clueless. I can't believe anyone could be that stupid as to think this marriage can work. I think the writers have overdone it with this character. Laura Carmine can definitely play a character with dimension, one you can not like too much but still have some empathy for.
As for Hernan, I know this will be a long time from now given TN usual time, but I can't wait for Marina's mom (if she's still alive) to find out what slime she wants her daughter to marry.
Unfortunately, I do think the answer from Damian will be "Yes." I still think he's doing this to force Marina to make a choice, which she did, and it wasn't the right one...

I guess she feels fairly self-destructive or she would not have left herself in such a vulnerable position.
Ester is not just a pain, her lack of impulse control is dangerous. I don't blame her for being mad—I would be furious if I had come upon the situation with Damian and a passed out Marina. But this didn't happen by accident, Ester was spying on her future groom.
Ester is treating this marriage a bit like an insecure kid in Junior High School treats her popular boyfriend. If she throws enough tantrums, it seems, Damian will come around. But Dam does not seem embarrassed by her, so her juvenile tactics are not working at all.
I am afraid I believe that Damian will say "Yes" but will not consummate the marriage. There has already been one coupling that could lead to the (no spoilers, just guessing) impending pregnancy.
Ester is a foolish and nasty character. I guess it remains to be seen whether she is truly her father's daughter when it comes to evil schemes and revenge.

Mauricio--Another big thank you to add to your basket of kudos. You let me replay the epi in my mind--with the help of your well-turned phrases. Manly muscular arms, mmmm.
Anyone notice how Manly Muscular Arms bulges out of his daddy's uniform? His chest is manly, too. He couldn't get the uniform buttoned all the way up--or is that a 2013 fashion statement?
In truth, if DamFab didn't want to take Marina home in that condition, he should have taken her to his Madrina's house to minister to her with herbs and incantations. But then, we wouldn't have had her walking out on him.
Despite his reveries at the altar of his kisses and "destiny" with Marina, he will probably say Si, Acepto. He probably feels she'll never be his in cuerpo, only in
sueños.
I say this only because it's too early in the tn for something good to happen. They have to go through their trials and tribulations.
Speculating that everyone is correct and the marriage is not consumated, post vows. Also, they DON'T go on the honeymoon Esthercita planned because el Capitan has to go fishing. Estercita looked beautiful in her wedding dress. What a waste. I also guess that DamFab can’t use his dad’s uniform for his eventual wedding with Marina. That would be bad form using it twice, no? Full-of-himself was so funny giving that speech—blown up all big like a puffer fish.
It’s starting to look like they’ve switched from a wig to LC’s real hair. The hair in this show is so confusing. LOL!
I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again, even though Bea is a worrywart and at times annoying, she is a gracious woman. She has expressed to Damian and to others that she thinks he’s a great guy and has thanked him for helping her. Yes, she feels that Hernan is a better match for Marina (on paper, he is). I could see my mom saying the exact same thing in one of my suitors was a guy I knew in high school, who was single, successful, good looking, and polite to me and my mom; and the other was an unkempt, uneducated fisherman, who rudely threw me into the sea. I don’t care how cute Guy #2 was, until she found out that Guy #1 was a jerk, or that I was in love with Guy #2 (neither of these things Marina has told her mom), she would be a big cheerleader for Guy #1 too.
I wasn’t surprised she was gracious to Mercedes. Much of what she was saying was tooting Marina’s horn. She’s extremely proud of Marina, and she wants Marina’s boss to know how awesome her daughter is. She doesn’t like for Marina to have problems or stress, and she blames the job (and Mercedes for giving it to her) for that. But that doesn’t mean that she can’t be impressed by a big businesswoman like Mercedes, just as she is proud that Marina is on her way to becoming a great businesswoman.

Variopinta - Yes, it's in English and Spanish, with English subtitles when Marco Ruiz (Demian's character) needs to speak Spanish to family, friends and enemies. It started July 10, but they give a recap before each episode. You can probably find the earlier episodes roaming around the internet.

I hate the idea of a perfectly nice little sailboat being blown to smithereens, though there are a few characters I wouldn't be sorry to wave goodbye to.

They did the same in Pasion - Susana Gonzales sported a hideous red/orange wig for many episodes then seemed to be wearing her own hair (red at the time) with the help of possible extensions.
