Qué Bonito Amor #86 (Mex 124) Tuesday 8/13/13 Someone is screeching at someone else, plus make-up sex.

QBA: Hola everyone! I'm subbing for Eli tonight.

Here are some screencaps to get us started. Full recap below.

He hears her singing . . .

Isa looks so pretty with her own hair, instead of that frightful wig. Let's hope they let her stick with her own locks from now on!

Working on a reconciliation.

Happy happy, joy joy. The reconciliation went well.

Paloma has an ominous dream about Rodrigo . . .

WHY WHY WHY?!?! Why, writers, why? You are just too cruel.

Poor heartbroken Rodrigo has the tender support of many loved ones.

RECAP SUMMARY with a plethora of screencaps.

We have a refrito with JAntos not sure he can forgive Maria, and Maria crying over it. Maria has a bright idea and we see her serenading JAntos outside of his pension room window. He seems unmoved at first, but doesn't move away from his balcony. When she climbs up the trellis to him, he smacks a passionate beso on her. Things are looking up for our couple.

Singing her heart out for him . . .

Will he forgive her?

Yes, it appears he will! (Look at the smeared lipstick on his upper lip.)

Smeared lipstick magically disappears in the next shot!

Don Justo is seemingly charmed by the Godfather, who wants to get into business with him. (But he isn't really, he's just playing along.) The Godfather assures Justo that even though Justo's son's reputation is in the crapper at the moment, Justo's name is good and Godfather wants to do business. Justo says he'll have the papers drawn up and looked at by his lawyer. Justo asks GF if he finds it odd that Orange Guiliano was murdered. GF says he was surprised, but at the same time saw it coming? Justo asks why. GF says, "You know why."

Shaking hands with the devil!

Orange Guiliano and Ruben have a meeting over wine. Ruben has a business idea. He won't tell OG what he wants to sell. "It will surprise you" he says. It'll be good, though. He needs OG to help him break into the California market. OG is good with this.

Before our main couple, JAntos and Maria, can commence with the make-up sex that we saw advertised in yesterday's avances, they clear the air. First they do the "Will you forgive me?" "No, I should be asking forgiveness of you!" schtick. (PLEASE!) He says he's been acting kinda douchey lately, like embarrassing her in front of everyone when he wouldn't take her outstretched hand onstage. They clear things up there. JAntos exclaims that will never quit Maria, he will always love her, yadda yadda, but he's so unhappy because he's a fugitive. With Orange Guiliano dead, there's no hope. (But of course Guiliano is not dead, only JAntos doesn't know that.) JAntos should just turn himself in already! Uh oh! He continues that he's got nothing to offer her. She tells him she loves, loves, loves him!

But she lurrrrrrves him!

Our couple continues to talk about what a crappy situation he's in. Living like a fugitive, blah blah, Maria explains again and again she prefers that over sadness and no him in her life.

"It's okay if you're a fugitive and a loser! I'll love you anyway!"

While waiting to see of JAntos will forgive Maria (so they can then go on their way) the mariachi singers get into a spat. Fernando gets into it with Siete Mares about Ana. Fernando asks Siete if he really cares about Ana. Siete says it ain't none of your business, loser. Stop whining! We have a bit of knocking of antlers between these two.

Meanwhile, Ana is squeeing with one of her friends about how into her Siete Mares is. He's written a love letter to her. Ana compares Siete to Fernando and thinks that Siete wins in the muy romantico department.

Quick scenes with JAntos still gnashing teeth over his fugitive status and Maria telling him to calm down and enjoy their love. Amalia talking to her dead husband about how worried that Maria has some tears and sadness ahead of her. We return to our couple, still hashing out his situation and we have another round of "Will you forgive me?" "No, I should be asking forgiveness of you!"

JAntos meaningfully closes the balcony windows, which indicate to the mariachi singers below that Their Work is Done for the night. Fernando wants to find someone to drink with, but all the other guys have to go to their sweethearts, thus leaving Fernando alone.

All alone . . .

JAntos and Maria profess their love (again) and JAntos gets on his knees and proposes to Maria (again) and Maria says that THIS TIME they will be together forever and ever and ever! And finally, our couple gets busy with the make-up sex. Cue romantic scenes with deep shadows and loving caresses, some which I'm sure were edited out by Univision. The love scenes, on the whole, were so severely edited that it at times looks like JAntos and Maria only had a relaxing nap while reclining next to each other while unclothed. LOL!

Another proposal . . .

Moving it to the bedroom area . . .

They're just having a nap, honest! So Univision almost makes it look.

Let's catch some Zzzzzzs!

Susanito and Isa are happy happy happy. Besos and she looks so much better with her real hair. They take turns calling each other Mr & Mrs Sanchos. They have their own severely edited love scene.

Paloma had a bad dream about Rodrigo, where she sees him crying and in despair. What could it mean? Oh crap, we are soon to find out!

In the morning, JAntos slips out of bed early, prepares breakfast (what a guy!) all while Maria still sleeps. He wakes her up with a beso and we have more of the lovebirds professing love for each other.

Sneaking out of bed, as to not wake her.

Some morning besos for our couple.

Amalia is making up the beds in the morning, seemingly okay with Maria being out all night, knowing where she is. She does lament how difficult it is to see them go and make their own mistakes, though.

Fernando meets the two ladies whose names escape me (lady who owns pension and her sister?) and they schmooze. Basically Fernando tells them that he has an envelope that he must deliver somewhere and it's a mission of love.

Schmooze, schmooze, schmooze. These three know how to do it.

Rodrigo is dragging home a mattress (ON HIS BACK!) and saying that his mom won't have to sleep on the floor anymore. Behind him some thugs are casing him out and for some lame-brained reason decide to attack the Kid Carrying the Mattress. Gloria gets a bad feeling and rushes down and just as thugs are about to knife Rodrigo, she gets in the middle and gets knifed herself. Oh no!

He's just a kid carrying a mattress on his back. But he attracts the attention of some murderous thugs.

Aw crap no! Not Gloria, NO!

Ana is reading a hot letter by Siete Mares and wonders why Fernando couldn't write letters like that. Followed by a short scene where Isa's little friend (can't remember his name!) wants to make it up to Isa for pouting about losing at soccer, and gives her a lollipop. She'll be friends again, but only on one condition . . .

JAntos and Maria in his little humble pension room, expounding on how they don't need material things to be happy. More besos.

Happiness!

We have a long, long, tragic scene where Rodrigo is holding Gloria in his arms, crying for help, and she's gasping out her last, telling him he'll be a good person, that he's the biggest blessing in her life, but she's gotta go now, gotta go. Poor, poor Rodrigo! This totally sucks. I was getting verklempt as I really liked Gloria. She finally expires in poor Rodrigo's arms.

No no no! NO! This totally sucks.

The "condition" Isa puts on her little friend is that he has to play "Papa" to her horrendous dolls. Please spare us. The friend thinks so too, but he plays along.

"OK, whatever."

Maria returns home with JAntos with her. There's some awkwardness with mom, but mom says, "You're an adult and have to live your life." But of course she can't just shut up and leave it at that, she has to start with the "You're gonna SUFFER!" schtick. JAntos says he'll try to make sure there's a minimum of that. Mom (Amalia) says sure, sure. They are interrupted by Mancia (Susanito's mom) announcing the sad news about Gloria.

Some guy has been sent to collect on bills Mirna owes. She doesn't have all the money, but vows to herself that she'll recover some money that she squirreled away (in the bar?).

Later we have everyone gathering around Rodrigo (at the funeral home?) to offer him comfort and support. He wants his mom back, that's all he wants! He almost collapses with the grief. He says he's all alone now. Everyone embraces him and tries to show him their love. He immediately rushes to JAntos when he sees him. Poor kid! Paloma also comforts Rodrigo and assures him of her love.

Poor Rodrigo!

Orange Guiliano is going to meet Don Ruben that night at the bar. He doesn't know what the "mysterious" Ruben has planned at the bar, but he flashbacks to being introduced to Maria and being told that she worked at that bar, so OG says to himself, with a serpentine lisp, at least he'll get to see Maria again . . . Maria . . .

We also have a scene where poor Rodrigo is having Gloria's ashes interred. More sadness for this kid. Why, writers, why?

Everyone is garbed in an abundance of black.

Our episode ends with Rodrigo crying and everyone looking somber.

WHY, writers, WHY?

Avances: More with Don Ruben making trouble. MUST SEE TV!

RECAP DONE! PUT A FORK IN IT!

Elvira--Have at it. You got a great episode, including the screeching (you guessed right, sad though it was).

Vivian--Alejandro Ruiz, who plays Siete Mares is an old hand. In Amor Bravio he played a priest (dag-nabbit, we drooled over him in his prior role, too). He had perfrect diction in both. So he's either imitating a regional dialect or is indeed speaking while drunk. Doesn't really matter, except I don't always understand everything he says. (Cubans, on the other hand, swallow whole syllables...)

Ay, dios mio! Waiting for the rest, too.

The reconciliation love scene was halved, missing some great potential stills. The edit was smoother than usual, with the music redubbed. We also missed the rest of the Sanchez wedding night with the rose petals on the bed. It looks like they went somewhere other than where either of them lived. Hope that means they will move to something better after the luna de miel.

When the refrito part went 5 minutes I knew that was a bad sign.

The murder of Gloria must have happened for any or all of these reasons:

-- Eugenia Cauduro was needed for another series
-- A plot device to deliver the message to JA and Maria that everything can be lost in an instant and they need to stay together
-- To force Oscar to grow up and become a real father to Roddy (He will return).

For the short term JA will take on the fatherly responsibility for Roddy. [Could these family dynamics get any weirder?] It would have been nice for Justo to have married Gloria eventually; he would have been a good father figure for Roddy. Not to mention forcing Wendy into tantrums Isabel is too old for!

There will not be a lot of good times before the evil ones get active; we can be sure of that.

I'm sure Mr. Mejia hates women. In this novela only good women die and have health problems. I'm sure that unborn baby was also a girl. I wish he killed Amalia, but she like Duncan McClaud.
But yes Eugenia Cauduro was needed for another serie. They enlarged novela for more then 60 episodes, that is why actors here started to disappear. Some actors were punished for bad behavior on the set. Que bonita novela
Alegria

"Only the good die young"? One would hope not, but the two best mothers in this story are dead and both raised good sons.

Please; don't compare Amalia to Duncan MacLeod. He's a superhero good guy with brains and adaptability.

Three mariachis have been paired/married off (Baritono, Aventurero, and Susanito); a few more to go.

Two henchmen and one villain dead (Bruno, Arnold, Fabian) with three villains left (Ruben, Giuliano, and Elvirus). The Godfather doesn't quite count here -- yet -- because he has no personal beef with our protagonists. He just wants his dinero.

I think I'm going to start writing the Karmageddon piece; you guys let me know when to post it.

Amalia promises to die almost in every episode. So when? pleeeease!!!!
Everytime I hear her "corazon de madre" I want to break my notebook. But she will be with us till the end. It's not a spoiler, it's a karma.

It's Amalia's karma to see Maria get married and have a fabulous life with a hot, smart, and very moneyed man.

We must hope that she learns from this and handles Paloma's pending adulthood better.

I liked the part where Gloria got stabbed, Rodrigo screamed for help, yet the people on the playground kept playing & swinging on the swings as if Rodrigo & Gloria didn't exist.

I don't understand why Fernando is wasting his time with Ana. I don't understand her appeal besides her big boobs, because IMO she IS a big boob. She's a silly, game playing twit. And what happened to Roxana? Did she go back to her husband or is she still hiding out in the apartment?

Amalia knew what was up when she saw the unmade bed and Maria's Walk Of Shame hair.

Oh, and Mirna is taking a trip to CrazyTown, thinking about breaking into JNTR and stealing that money. Because she's a shameless homewrecking ho and a thief, I see the carcel in her future.

There is nothing shameful about making love with someone you do love. That is one of the appealing things to me about novelas: Sex isn't treated like viewers are middle-school kids snickering in locker rooms.

I just hope they took precautions and Maria doesn't get pregnant again.

I agree that Fernando is wasting his time with Ana. Her whole attraction to him made no sense in view of her general attitude about men being pigs.

The killing of Gloria doesn't make sense; the two thieves -- if that is what they were -- should just have run for it. If they were a pair of predators like Henry Lee Lucas and his killing partner why didn't they also kill Roddy at the same time? A woman and a teen boy would fit most serial killers' victim profiles.

Thanks Elvira!

Aj, NO, NOT GLORIA!!

I'm sure Amalia will survive to the bitter end. I do not know why Gloria had to die (I mean if she got a new job or whatever, but the actress who played JAntos's mother, now playing the mother of the protagonist in Telemundo's Dama y obrero, and she is a real p@in in the @ss- if I may say so. (imagine Amalia Y Mancia as one character)

I also heard, but don't know if it's true, that K. Alvarez (Irasema) had problems with the director because she had/has drinking problems.

I haven't seen UNI version, only the original mex episode online, and the Maria-JAntos scenes were HOT, I'm not surprised they edited it out - if they edit out bare baby bottoms this was way over the top for them.

What always surprises me is that how can they have a funeral or cremation so fast?? I mean it takes days to release the body and go over the procedures, how does this work over there?
Not to mention it was MURDER !! doesn't the police, the local NCIS ppl and medical examiner need to investigate?

I find it a little disconcerting that while watching this novela and then others some of this shows cast are already working in other areas as different people. It's great for them because many of them are solid performers and you can see their versatility but I have to mentally shake my head to keep them straight.Totally love Alejandro Ruiz, you should have seen how fabulous he was in Esmerelda - another Mejia production that was hugely popular.I love his diction so think he is using an accent or is playing it as a guy who is always a little drunk.

Could not believe the Gloria death scene. I've never been anywhere in the DF where the streets weren't full of people and traffic and yet nothing and nobody while Roddy screams for help. The kids on the swings might have been too far away but still. Considering the crime rate I guess I shouldn't be surprised that no one popped out of the buildings or at least opened their windows to help the poor kid.

Add me to the list of people who are always surprised by how fast people get cremated or buried in novelas. Can't believe that Roddy would have made the decision to have Gloria cremated and for Gods' sake did no one think to call Coloso? Maria wearing a skin tight short skit and the infamous black boots SMH.

Alas once again the wrong mother died.I have tried valiantly to like to Amelia but I just can't. Her heart of a mother speech is diving me to drink. She didn't seem that all pleased with Maria's unused bed and her praying to the Virgin about Maria shedding more tears hit my last nerve. STFU and let it go. Then in come Maria and JA and she is all smiles.

I was flummoxed by the rose petals on the bed and confused about which couple it was supposed to be. I am also surprised that on a show that airs at ten
o'clock they felt it necessary to edit a love scene.

URBAN I agree that that overrun of LT and the long refrito is was a bad sign. Why in the name of all that is holy are they showing such long refritos NOW when they didn't for almost the entire show.

The OJ Ruben conversation involved a surprise that Rube had for OJ which invvolves going to JTNR. OJ is all excited at the possibiloity of seeing Maria - ick, ick, ick.

Not to mention it was MURDER !! doesn't the police, the local NCIS ppl and medical examiner need to investigate?
-------------

This is the same show where they rushed to throw Susanito in jail for Fabian's murder, then had to backtrack because "oh yeah, we didn't actually see him with the gun" and "oh yeah, FabNot was shot in the back so I guess somebody else musta dunnit."

Anon 207

Of course it's murder but vast amounts of crimes are never even reported in Mexico so who knows maybe the police were notified and nothing much will happen. It is surprising that nobody even mentioned it — shrug is in Novelaland after all and a lot of these people appear to be stupefyingly dumb.

I did notice that Manci who seemed to have dialed back the histrionices in the last couploe of episodes was back in full hysteria mode last night. LOL

Elvira--You have a great memory and told things as you saw them. For that we are mighty grateful. I wish you had been able to witness all the make-up sex and report it to us. But, it is what it is.

The scene with Justo and El Padrino is totally unimportant. However, Justo is onto him--I can't remember why--but he's the one dangling the bait infront of El P in order to get the goods on his dirty laundering by offering to go into business with him. Vivi, if you are around, correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm also annoyed by the late start and 5 min. of refrito. It seems they are doing this every night. We are probably looking at one more break-up between JA & Maria, or perhaps "abandonment" as we are treated to in the avances.

About Maria's little speech clearing the air. Puleeze, why doesn't she remember all her words (from this time and the previous air-clearing speeches, each time she gets spitting mad about something intangible and tells JA to get out of her life. She reacts as if he's let her down and she'd rather suffer than talk to him. Then she changes her tune and actually sounds reasonable and intelligent about their all-encompassing love.

I think that's been the biggest problem in this tn. Maria's hot tempered, jumps to conclusions and then suffers because she won't let JA explain how thing really were.

It took Gloria too long to die. Characters have lived with worse wounds than these. And I didn't see much blood on the back of her blouse when Roddy picked her up.

Why didn't they just put her in a coma in the hospital for the rest of the episodes and have her wake up in time for JA and Maria's wedding and see that Coloso is back. Hmmm. The next tn could have spared her for that, I should think.

ANITA

You are correct Justo is onto the Godfather. During his investigation into the money laundering he found a reference to the Godfather in something OJ had done. He checked the guy out and knows what he is. He set up a meeting with the other man and is suckering him into to get the goods on him. Justo is smart and a diplomat so he is working the guy like a master and will I'm sure bring about his downfall.

The whole death scene was weird. When Isa had her accident at night no less a crowd swarmed around to get help, Gloria gets stabbed in broad daylight and not a soul appears. Give me a break.

You nailed Maria's problem. She doesn't listen, flies off the handle, says whatever nasty thing she feels like and then becomes a suffering, sobbing martyr aided and abetted by her smother. If they split up one more time you'll hear me screaming. If the writers have any sense which I doubt, they will leave them together to work separately or collectively on the problems with OJ, Ruben and Dumb and Dumber while at the same time beginning to wrap up all the secondary plot points. There is something cheap about fights, break ups and make up sex which are too pervasive in TN's today.

Gloria's death is a plot device to bring Coloso back for Rodrigo. He's actually not needed and nobody seems to be missing him. I didn't hear any of the Mariachi Gang say at Susanito's wedding "Sure wish Coloso was here."

Justo is onto the Godfather but the Godfather thinks he's pulling on over on Justo.

The crowd that gathered around Isa was useless so they might as well not been there.

El Siete Mares is from somewhere on the Mexican coast. I never knew where. They usually put on a simmilar accent in novelas when a character is either from Veracruz or Guerrero. They never use Tabasco but the drop of the "s" is even more common there.

Jarocha

I was thinking about that short scene when Jalisquito showed up while Isa was playing hopscotch with her dolls watching on. She's worried that they aren't friends anymore and he is still pithed that she beat him in soccer and won't play with her if she is going to do it again. She hands him that horrible Sabine Moussier doll and calls him papi. He looks absolutely horrified. He's a long way from JAntos who talked about playing dolls with is sister Wendy and who has been seen playing with Isa and hers.

ANON207 Crowd scenes in TN's are always full of useless people especially in an emergency when everyone is screaming and praying and nobody thinks to use a cell phone to call for a doctor. They make me laugh every time. And you are spot on about Coloso. But if this was during PM suspension we may have to wait for him to show up and be an adult and a real dad.

Jarocha

7 Seas was introduced as saying he came from Vera Cruz. I sometimes find him hard to understand but nobody is as tough for me as Cubans. Levy always sounds completely mush mouthed. I had a friend who had a problem with Colombians.

We have not been told much about the passage of time in this novela... nor in many others. This is not peculiar to any producer or writer. In the last few series I've been trying to do it by moon phase and -- Hola! -- there is only one moon phase per series.

So we can easily buy that at least three days passed between Gloria's murder and the cremation.

I find it impossible to believe that nobody would have contacted Oscar about this. You'd think that Fernando would have called him. Unless, of course, Roddy said not to.

Hola everyone!

I'm in the process of filling in the blanks and expanding the recap a bit, as well as adding copious screencaps!

URBAN

I long ago gave up trying to figure out how much time has elapsed in a novela and this one in particular. My best guess is about six months. We can only guess how long Bruno was in prison before he got out and got Wendy preggers. The last scene we saw of her she looked only a few months along maybe three or at the outside four. OJ has had several one or two week find Santos orders and the last one I believe was a month so who knows. The moon shots only get you from night to day, like the flashing traffic down the Reforma. And we haven't had a single one of those notes about weeks, days, months or years later signs. LOL

I'm thinking it's more close to the actual 9 months.. how far along is Wendy?
Judging from her tummy size cannot be reliable means, on CI Mr. Meija's dear wife went from completely flat stomach straight to a 6 months baby bump..

BTW have anyone else noticed the ammount of rouge that smeared on JAntos's upper lip and just below the nose during the first kiss when he lifted Maria up from the window?
They quickly cut scenes, but for a few seconds I seemed to see a big red blotch.
Poor J.S. must've caught a mouthful of thick red lipstick and probably not the first time.
Yuck..

Elvira- thank you so much! I got much needed sleep last night, I meant to wake up at six and slept till almost nine, eeeek!

I call BS on the death of Gloria, they make her character fight cancer and leave her child only to have her come back and kill her? WTF, WTF?! That is just wrong. And as has been said before, why do the good mothers have to die? Why don't the powers that be take Amalia and Mancia? Why baby Jesus, why!?!

Urban, I've been asking myself if the walk of shame can be called that if you're not ashamed of what you did, especially as I leave my BF's house at 8 in the morning....

irisz79, yes, I noticed the lipstick smear on JAntos's lip, I made a screencap of it (see recap!). LOL!

Recap is finally done now, with lots more screencaps added.

Eli, glad you got your sleep! It sounded like you really needed it!

I totally call BS on Gloria's death. It came out of the blue and really sucked badly. I still can't believe it!

Now you all know why I learned to hate lipstick. I also can't stand how it feels.

There were no refritos during the 1.5 episodes per night thing. Last night's were excessive.

Censorship sucks!

So JA was being stubborn and not willing (or able) to forgive Maria to the point of humiliating her on stage. Yet, when she serenades him, climbs the trellis and they have makeup sex, he somehow has a stash of fresh rose petals to strew upon the bed, because ... why? Not only that, but one or the other (or both) get up in the middle of the night and vacuum all the petals away for a nice clean room early in the morning.

And those stupid thugs just wanted to mess with Rodrigo? They didn't take the mattress or ask for any money, just pulled a knife for nothing? Scary.

LOL, Anon 4:47

You're right. Rose petals are usual when a seduction scene or romantic interlude is planned. But a spur-of-the-moment makeup? hahaha

Decie Girl:

I have problems understanding Levy too but it's not his accent, it's just his mumbling.

Jarocha

ANON

The rose petals confused me too but apparently those were the wedding night with Susanito and Irasema. The way they cut thing most of us got lost and not know we were watching two aborted sex scenes.

JAROCHA

You could be right it is the incessant mumbling not the accent. I don't have the same problem with other Cubans but then again a lot of them have lived in Mexico for years and now have a combo accent.

Mumbling by actors is one of the reasons I favor Televisa because their actors usually speak very clearly. Most of them also do stage work, too.

Wow, what an episode. I was not expecting that at all.

I just can't believe this TN has 3 (maybe 4 if you count El Padrino) formidable villains yet Gloria is killed by two random goons in broad daylight with apparently no other witnesses except Roddy.

There's really nothing more I can say about this episode except for a moment I thought Ruben has plans to take Giu to JNTR to see what Santos' life is like now. Giu doesn't know about Santos' job there....correct?
--TF

No, OJ doesn't know about JNTR, Santos singing or the Santos/Maria romance. But he's about to find out tonight.

TF

Nope OJ doesn't know that Santos is actually working at JNTR. He knows that Santos liked that kind of music and he met Maria in Ruben's office, Ruben was furious when OJ flirted with her to the point of backing out a business deal. I think Rub has a two fold reason, one to reveal JA's new identity hoping OJ will get rid of the man and also to rub it in his face that OJ doesn't have a shot at Maria since once JA is out of the picture she will be his. That probably sounds more complicated than it actually will be. LOl

That is likely to create friction between Giuliano and Ruben as well.

OK, more continuity blips or big blops.

Gloria and Rodrigo. In their modest apartment when they both moved to the vecindario, each of them had a bed. I wondered what Roddy was doing sleeping on the couch and now we learned that Gloria was sleeping on the floor. Did they have to move? Maybe I missed that while I was on vacation.

Besides the lipstick (which I noticed and kept my yuck to myself, but watched to see if it was gone in the next shot), I noticed that Maria's braided hair ribbon was very properly in place while sitting on JA's lap after a night of lovemaking and sleeping, but has become tangled up so what they did is in yo' mama's face when they reach her apt. Guess the wind was blowing something fierce.

Ok, maybe we didn't get the whole hot sizzlin' scene, but we did get a peek at JA bare leg and thigh almost all the way to his bum. Nice.

Anita

Apparently when Gloria went for her treatment they gave up the nice apartment (it was never said) but in any event when she came out she told us that she had used up all her money on the treatment so she and Roddy ended up in a barrio dump like everyone else and that was why she got a job cooking at JNTR.
If and when Coloso comes back to town it will be interesting to see if he goes back to his old apartment.

I noticed that ribbon thing too. For some reason probably because I have to focus so hard to understand what is going on I tend to pick up all the weird stuff that goes on like actors dropping props or doors that don't stay closed or squeak sometimes. I've even heard someone call asnother character by the wrong name. LOL

What bugged me about Oscar leaving that apartment was that wouldn't all the stuff on the walls belong to him?

I can't see how he could have rented that place already decorated with photos of famous mariachi singers and composers, including stuff that might be worth something and that would be specifically important to him.

It looks like Gloria and Roddy ended up in a much worse neighborhood than the Mendozas. She must have been completely broke.

UA--Coloso even left his chicken behind, or pardon me, his feathered rooster pal.
