Corazon Indomable, #87 Forget the Monkey, Where's the Mole?
We open with Mariana rushing to Doris’s bedroom after the maid tells her that Doris was screaming that she wanted to kill herself, and the patio shouting ‘Do it’.
Simona sits in the beauty salon with Jackie giving the hairdresser instructions to make her beautiful. Simona has her doubts.
Miguel is kinda sorta happy about selling the ranch, but on the other hand feels guilty that he’s letting his father down because his father loved it so much. Octavio, not so much.
Doris is pretending to be praying to the porcelain god pretending to be ridding herself of the pills she pretended to take, while Mariana pretends to fret over her. Mariana tells the maid to get the gov. Doris should do a comedy next time because she’s hilarious.
Jackie arrives at Octavio’s with Simona. Octavio doesn’t recognize her at first, and we don’t either. She’s got a short bob, makeup, fashionable clothes, and NO MOLE!!! Where did it go? They don’t just disappear and makeup wouldn’t hide it like that. Did she see a dermatologist too? Does the hairdresser do dermatology on the side? Even her voice sounds different to me. Octavio is as surprised as me.
The Luv Guv is asking about Doris, why did she do it and did they call a doctor? Mariana says she threw the pills up so no need for a doctor. I think he meant mental doctor or at least he should have. She did it because she doesn’t want daddy to marry that casino woman and replace her mother. Eye roll by the gov.
Octavio continues to gush over Simona. And I mean really gush. Stop Octavio, it’s embarrassing.
Doris is pretending to be sleeping when the gov comes to see her. He asks her how she could do such a thing that could cause such a political and social scandal. She wakes up at that and tells him he only cares about himself. If he marries MA, she will kill MA or try suicide again and succeed. Stop cheering patio, she didn’t really try this time. Isn’t now the time to send her to a shrink, gov?
Now Miguel is gushing over the change in Simona, only not to the ridiculous point that Octavio was. She wants to help Miguel with his problems, but he says he wants to sell the ranch.
MA thought bubbles that the gov hasn’t called like he said we would. She can’t bear the thought that he won’t marry her and Doris will marry Octavio and then Doris will win and MA will lose. She just needs to flash those dimples at the gov and I’m sure he will renew Doris’s prescription.
Doris and Mariana are gloating over the success of the pretend suicide. Mariana asks when will Doris finish this game and Doris replies after MA is permanently gone, then he can marry Mariana. Mariana has decided that she doesn’t want to be the gov’s leftovers, and besides he’s not even that hot. The patio is in total agreement, or at least the women on the patio are. Doris wants to go out on the town with Mariana since she’s so happy now, and Mariana can come up with an excuse for why someone who just tried to kill herself is now going out to party.
Octavio calls MA to set up a time to see Lupita. She tells him he as to set it up with her lawyer. Octavio says that she will have to be more accommodating after he marries Doris, he will be living on the island permanently then. Right after hanging up, the luv gov calls and wants to meet for coffee at her house.
Miguel calls Lucia and informs her that he has a buyer for the ranch. She’s overjoyed by the news. Miguel is happy too so that they will come out from under all their debts and live somewhere else.
The gov wants to start by saying that he doesn’t want her to think that his daughter has influence over him. After MA and the patio stop laughing and quiet down, he continues to insist that it’s true. He just wants to wait until MA is legally divorced before they get married. Ya think? MA proposes that they get married in secret. The gov acts surprised, but I thought they already discussed this in the past. No? That way Doris can’t stop it, but the gov wants Doris to get married first.
Doris and Octavio are having lunch together and Doris is still on her pretend suicide high, and the success she thinks it brought her. Doris wants to know if MA told him that she has called off the wedding to her daddy. Octavio just wants to butt out of her business, but Doris says that after the great suicide attempt, there is no way dad and MA will get married. Octavio doesn’t bat an eye over this and says that MA is as stubborn as her and they will continue their war. Tell me again what is so attractive about a man who doesn’t flinch at a shooting, a suicide attempt, a pretend suicide attempt, a murder, and the mistreatment of his wife by others?
The gov explains that they could speed up their marriage if MA dropped her lawsuit with Octavio for alimony since she doesn’t need the money especially after they marry. The gov is loaded. She agrees and flashes those dimples. She and Doris will be like sisters once they are married. Oh yes! They will get married when D and O are on their honeymoon.
Octavio informs Doris that he will be spending the evening with Simona.
MA calls her lawyer to tell him to drop the lawsuit. He argues against it. Think of all the money he’s going to lose. Now she just wants to be free of him. The lawyer calls Octavio to tell him the news. Octavio is in agreement but insists on retaining his right to see his daughter. He then calls Doris to tell her.
Octavio pays MA a visit at her office. The only way that he will let her be free to marry the Governor is if she gives up custody of Lupita to him. Ha! She says that they will live in the mansion as one big happy family and he can see his daughter as much as he wants. He can’t believe she’s seriously thinking that Doris would be OK with this. She says that maybe he should be worried about how Doris will treat his daughter and rethink marrying her. Good one MA! The patio is all in agreement that MA just won that battle. He asks her why she wants to marry the gov, she says the same reason you want to marry Doris, for position. No, he says, she’s young and pretty, your man is a shriveled up prune, or something like that. And he will learn to love Doris. The patio busts out in laughter. We all agree that he will only get more annoyed by her whining day after day.
Miguel sees his broker for the sale of the ranch. 2 days it should be final.
Doris is happily telling daddy that Octavio will now be free to marry her, and that once they are, she will set up the gov with a nice woman if he doesn’t want to marry Mariana.
Octavio insists that she’s doing this because she’s jealous and still in love with him, she denies it, they almost kiss. Then: Do you think that my grandfather burned to death so that his granddaughter could make peace with the enemy? Never.
Octavio is having dinner with Simona, she thought bubbles that she’s loved him since they were children.
MA is talking with the broker. Tomorrow they will transfer the deed. She wants to make a show of it where she presents herself at the last minute as the buyer. She will then give them a small parcel of land that was where the shack stood that Lucia burned down.
Now MA is talking to Raisa and telling her that she is happy with the work she and Tony do and that she will turn over the running of the casino to them while she is the Mrs. Governor of Isla Durado.
Simona continues to plead her case for why Octavio should marry her. Octavio of course is undecided.

As for me, Isadora looks very good for her age. But only for her age. Now she looks older than before. Can't imagine her with Octavio, because he looks younger.

Don't marry Doris. Don't marry the Gov. I'm going to marry the Gov. I'm going to marry Doris. You need a divorce first. So do you. I won't give it to you. Wait, I change my mind, I will give it to you, so that I can marry the Gov. Great, I want to have visitation rights to our daughter. She's MY daughter, and no, I won't let you see her. If you don't let me see her, I take her away from YOU. You can't do that. Oh, yes I can....
On and on and in circles it goes. Ya! Basta!
At least it looks like we're finally finalizing the divorce. Just in time for Simona to step in as a new marriage candidate for Tav. Mari will be blindsighted and livid. And so will Doris. Let the fun and games begin!
So glad everyone on your Patio is having such a good time. I didn't watch this episode, but you very hilariously retold it so vividly, I didn't need to. I love the idea of MA giving Miguel and Lucia the plot of land where Granpa's jacal was located.
Over on QBA, The Patio is empty. There are only a few die-hards left, willing to tolerate the "Mejia Family Crapola Show."
Over on LaTemp, Their Patio isn't sure whether to High-Five the love scenes or gird up our loins for much gnashing of teeth, renting of hair and donning sackcloth because the happiness and joy between our main hottie and his mujer is surely going to end abruptly and we're in for a desolate, barren landscape devoid of Wet White Pants.
It just keeps swirling round and round, doesn't it?? Well, we are dealing with a whole pack of crazies, and from personal experience, I can tell you that crazies do a whole lot of swirling around. Crazies never ever take the direct path. They prefer the long and winding road..to nowhere. ingrid is doing a great job of making me detest her. Oh, let's not point fingers at one person. Everyone is doing a fantastic job of making me hate them.
I am disappointed that I missed the first sightings of the retread Simona. I can't wait to get a look at the magical transformation tonight. Divorce here take a loooong time to finalize. I wonder if you can get a quickie divorce in Mexico. I will have to ask my student from Guadalajara on Monday.
Seriously? Oct could recognize Simona & couldn't even recognize his own wife that he slept with? I didn't recognize her. I saw some black hair showing under that wig in the back.
I'm sure Oz isn't the same as in the days of the straw-man, Oblivio will soon revert to the old Oblivio.
So Mari is marrying the Gov so that Octavio won't marry Doris, but she's waiting until Oct and Doris get married, before marrying the Gov? Something don't add up here.
Poor Tav has to marry a rich woman to protect himself from Mari. I still haven't figured that one out.
So looking forward to Tav telling Doris he decided to marry someone else.....
Looking forward to the ranch sale and reveal (and ceding of a small plot where a burned jacal stands).
I wasn't bored! Incredulous, yes, stupified even, but definitely not bored. :)

I totally agree with the bullet recaps, they save us so much time in typing and trying to establish who said what how many times and in contradiction to how many things they said five minutes ago.
Thank you, Cathyx, for the idea, and for today's rundown. By the way this is going, by the time the last episode arrives, we'll just write something like:
Corazon Indomable/ Ultimo capitulo
Maricruz and Octavio end up together. Everybody else is happy or punished for their mistakes.
The end
Kinda sick of Doris and her shenanigans. They did to get this story line wrapped up.
I don't understand why Miguel is so happy. Yes he will be without debt but he still needs a job and does he know how to do anything but poorly run a ranch?
These tn's have a thing for putting kids in the middle, first PEAM and now CI. Kinda of sad.
Latina---You're bored? What do you want, someone to get killed to liven things up?
Anita---Summed up La Temp. pretty well. Actually La Tempestad doesn't look bad to me, it's just that it comes on late and I don't want to stay up to 11:00 every night.
I have a friend that writes me from Mexico. He highly recommends
"Mentar Para Vivir" but I think that it will be taking La Temp's late spot. Looks like some time changes are comming on Univision.
I put up a late post yesterday. I know that you guys think that monkeys are writing CI. Well monkeys do tricks and I think that we are in for some. Simona didn't get that makeover for nothing. If she works fast and ends up with Tav, the rancho's financial problems are over. Maricruz thinks
that the rancho is mio but I don't think it will be that easy--I won't believe it until I see it. Will the papers be signed tonight?
Latina, I can't wait for 7:00PM
the gringo
Good question, CathyX. And yet, since we know la Salvaje truly loves the insensitive dork, we still find ourselves rooting for reconciliation. More's the pity. Not sure how that's possible though with Abuelo's death.
My other favorite line from your recap was "Octavio of course is undecided."
I'm delighted that wretched mole has disappeared, and I like Simona's makeover but she needs to aim higher (she could hardly aim lower) than Octavio. Perhaps it's time to introduce a new character. Wish Maricruz' lawyer was more attractive. Don't think he'll do.
Ah well, plenty of episodes left. Thanks for a well-organized recap that asked all the right questions.
Any word on who will recap that one? Right now I'm extremely busy, but I'd definitely make an effort for Mentir (did I mention how good I think it is? and it's also short, about 100 episodes).
If Simone slips in and marries the Dunce, it would be amusing but like most of you here, we know she can do better. And I really don't want to see her suffer in a loveless marriage. He is so not worthy of her.
Alegria - thanks for the pics and Judy, the actress does look like Leslie Caron.
Adriana - thanks for the info on the new TN.
There is one area where he hasn't done what many other galans have done (yet)-- sleep with another woman.
I'd say what makes him the worst is his inability to grasp and internalize how wrong he was, and his family was, and to make a heart-felt appology. But none of these characters really internalize anything, except hatred and revenge. They are pretty much all cardboard characters, so can we really fault Tav?
Remember how horrible Rod the Bod was in Refugio, and it took him a while before he finally came to his senses and got down on his knees at Luci's feet begging for forgiveness. Even after that, he still remained weak in many areas. But he was a caring person, a great brother, and a loving father, so he had redeeming qualities. Tav doesn't have many redeeming qualities.
"Octavio of course is undecided."
Karen,
"...he's the worst galan I've seen in a TN. Unless Vivi can remind me of someone who was worse."
Well, I'm no Vivi and I'm sure that she'll disagree, but I offer up that vengeful, smarmy, sneaky rat bastard Jerónimo from CME as the worst galan ever, with that cruel, abusive, quirt cracking Rogelio from LQNPA a very close second.
If Maricruz weren't the vindictive narcissistic shrew that she's turned into, I think the two of them (with her extended family) could be very happily spending her daddy's fortune about now. Other opinions of course may vary.
Carlos
I will agree with you on RoHellio. That's the reason why I stopped watching LQNPA. I just couldn't get behind a galan who whipped people. Sorry JS and LQNPA fans.
I would love to see them sit down together with a mediator of some sort and have a mature (OK I see the little flaw there) discussion. This marriage is salvageable. Let's face it, with the options both are considering right now, neither seems to have high expectations.
Carlos
Since I'm not much of a Mari fan either, I don't care if they end up together. (I'll just shake my head about it, imagining the craziness in that marriage for all the years to come.) But, if Mari were a heroine I actually liked, I wouldn't wish Tav on her.
Let's look at this. We already know--we've had it clearly demonstrated to us--that Octavio has 1) short-term memory issues (he cannot retain the information that Lucia killed MC's grandfather and framed her no many how times it's repeated to him, and he had the same problem with MC's pregnancy until he was finally officially introduced to his daughter) and 2) serious problems with facial recognition (the only possible explanation for him not realizing from the start that MA was MC). So, as someone observed earlier, if they were going to be consistent about his character's mental abilities, the next few episodes should be a comedy of errors--every time he sees Simone he should be puzzled and ask to be introduced to her.
I can't like Maricruz 100 percent either. After all, she shot Octavio in the leg. What if she had missed and hit the horse?
Very funny. Hitting other parts of Oblivio would have been fine with me.
There is a wig sitting at the workstation, sure looks like her do.
On that hopefully non-spoilery note, I caught a glimpse of an episode on Televisa and there is a happy sighting. I didn't stick around long enough to know if it makes the story better (haha), but it's something to look forward(ish) to.
I forgive Jeronimo of CME since he thought the leading lady was responsible for his brother death. He was wrong, but at least he had a reason for being a jerk. What is Octavio's reason? MC dared to become rich? And hate me for abandoning her with my horrible family? And for blowing her off when she said she was pregnant and then demanding custody of the baby because she's not good enough even though I'm marrying a nutjob?
Maybe his facial recognition issues are from eye problems. When does he start that Admiral of the Navy job, because he should NOT be flying anymore.
