Corazón Indomable cap 99 9/27/13 I'm Natasha, But You May Call Me Señorita Nasty
We join Maricruz and Octavio in Lupita's nursery as he kneels and gazes adoringly upon his precious little daughter as she quietly sleeps... protected by two angels that are perched unseen and silent at either end of her crib. Invisible butterflies flutter about her pretty head. For a moment Maricruz is stirred by this tender tableau presented by the two most important people in her young life and moves in, reaches out and touches his shoulder. He rises and quietly turns to face her. Their eyes lock and they embrace and indulge in a sensual sensuous kiss briefly savoring each others lips...
Suddenly the needle scritches across the vinyl grooves and we are shaken back into our present reality. Maricruz pulls away,
"You came to see your daughter?"
"Yes."
"Well pay attention... there she is."
They exchange a couple of gentle insults but I don't think either of them has the heart for a battle at this moment.
As we exit the room we get a closeup of the kid. She smiles sweetly as if to reassure us that after 60 or so more episodes of this nonsense, things are gonna be alright between her mommy and daddy... or maybe one of those butterflies tickled her nose...

A beautiful woman rides a beautiful horse through a beautiful field of tall grass. She passes a corral and looks around. I don't think we know this lady although I'm sure I've seen her in a previous novela. Vivi, a little help over here... you remember these people much better than I.
Our favorite couple have both emerged from their pheromone induced trances. She was already aware that he has backed out of the community development.
"It's my problem and I'll take care of it. Tell your little wifey to keep her land. The Narváez ranch is about to be more than a nest of vipers like it's always been."
He snipes back that at least they were decent vipers. She takes this as an insult to her and other poor folks. He calls her indomable and leaves. She shrugs, she sighs, she rolls her eyes... sorry folks ...no dimples this time around.
He mounts up and gallops away and bumps into the lady on the horse. She sits up straight in her saddle so he can get a better look at her bubis and smiles. She's lost. They exchange admiring glances. She's visiting her dead uncle's, don Ramón Fuentes, Rancho la Estrella. He offers to take her back to his place and drive her home since the ranch she came from is quite far away.
From a distance Maricruz spots them talking.
They flirt, heck he might even carry her home in his arms. Heck, she'd accept. Double heck..he's married. Too bad... she's single.
Off they ride as Maricruz watches as she has a rather enigmatic chat with herself over how Octavio has figured into her life. She concludes that he's like a question mark.
Octavio presents Natasha to the rest of the family. Miguel's enchanted... Simona... not so much. After telling them a bit about herself she's ready for Octavio to drive her home. Simona thinks it might be better for one of the ranch hands to drive her... Natasha thinks she'd feel safer with Octavio. Simona is starting to twitch. Miguel offers, but Octavio reminds him gently that perhaps it'd be best if he stays indoors. Nopis, looks like Octavio will be escorting Natasha home. Simona simmers and ends up reminding Octavio to hurry home for dinner. The looks that she and Miguel exchange as Octavio follows Natasha out is almost worth watching this episode for.
Natasha's nana is anxiously pacing as Natasha enters skipping like a happy school girl and announces what an exciting adventure she just had. She got lost and then met the most handsome interesting man...
"A man? Another man?"
Uh oh...
"Ay Nana, Romance comes at me from every direction. I don't look for it, it finds me. Ay I'm so tired..."
She puts her head in Nana's lap and tells her what a grand house these folks have, much nicer than this... and he's soooo handsome...
Over dinner, Simona expresses a bit of displeasure with the new neighbor...
Natasha tells her nana that the young man is married and it was evident that his wife was jealous. She adds that it annoys her when women aren't jealous of her.
"Ay, don't talk like that."
"Nana, the jealousy of other women is what makes me most proud, it makes me feel secure."
Nana thought that Natasha came to rest and breathe the fresh air. Natasha says that love is a stimulant... a special variety of oxygen."
She tells her his name is Octavio and he has an older brother named Miguel who is a widower,
"He devoured me with his eyes but he doesn't interest me."
She lies back and basks in her self-satisfaction.
Well, welcome to the neighborhood, Natasha. You are certainly one crazy lady, but get in line because there are two other even more crazy ladies ahead of you who lay claim to this sloe-eyed, dark-haired bonbon.
At Rancho Abuelo, Maricruz is arguing with José A. He chides her about Octavio having been there and predicts that she will eventually end up with her ex as her lover. He admits again that he loves her and she reminds him that he has a wife with a child on the way. He scowls.
At Simona's ranch, dinner is over and Simona is going to bed early. She tells the guys to stay up and talk and leaves. Miguel offers,
"She's a marvelous woman."
"Simona?"
"Well... her too,"
Uh oh, Miguel is truly smitten. He foresees a friendship.
Oh my! José A is trying to convince Maricruz that perhaps they could be a pair.
"José Antonio, nunca, nunca. Look go home and try to love your wife a bit more."
"You no longer hate her?"
"No I no longer hate her."
"Then?"
"What better punishment could you want for her than that she loves you so much and knows that you love me?"
"This place is cursed for those in love."
"Why do you say that?"
"You love Octavio Narváez and he's married to another. La Señora Simona loves him and he loves you. Ester loves me and I love you. Miguel and Lucía Narváez were in love and look, death carried her off."
"Pure coincidences, nothing more."
He tells her once again that she'll end up as his lover. She says she'll die first... her hate for him is too strong.
Octavio and Miguel chat about Natasha and Simona. Miguel wants Natasha. Octavio doesn't see it as a good match and is annoyed by Simona's jealousy.
In Realengo, José A and Ester quarrel and glare... she hopes for better times Next!
I guess they're proceeding with the community development. Maricruz chats with the architect about the progress as they walk in front of the proposed chapel. Nazario is there. Natasha rides up and inquires. Nazario tells her that they are building a chapel. She speculates,
"Ay, a whim of the ranch owner (dueño),"
Maricruz corrects her,
"A desire of the owneress (dueña) of this place,"
She points out the proposed location of the old folks home and adds that the chapel will serve as a school.
Natasha introduces herself and tells Maricruz that she is on her way to Simona's place,
Is this the right way?"
"Do you know someone there?"
"Yes, an enchanting man, Octavio Narváez."
And in case we need reminding we get a quick glimpse of the enchanting man sitting on his bed tugging his boots on.
One of the guys tells her that she is on the right way.
Nazario appreciates the view as she rides off,
"¡Que hembra!"
Maricruz reminds him that she is present and indicates that she's not impressed, sends everyone back to work, and continues her conversation with the architect, Porfirio.
Nazario appreciates the view as they walk away.
Rapist #2?
Ofelia is sweeping the drive as Natasha rides up. She drops her broom and races inside to tell Simona.
Simona's having none of it. She tells Ofelia to send her away, adding (to the dismay of Ofelia as well as us),
"No other woman will take Octavio away from me... only death."
Yikes!
Ofelia tells Natasha that she's not welcome and Natasha laughs and replies,
"Tell her not to worry that I'll steal her husband though certainly he is very handsome... for her."
She goes on to tell poor Ofelia that if she wants Simona's husband... she'll take him.
Yikes!
Ofelia returns to give the message to Simona but she heard it for herself. Ofelia reminds her that Natasha came asking for her, not Octavio. Simona seems to be getting a tad jealous and paranoid,
"As far as taking him away from me, listen to me well Ofelia, with or without love, Octavio Narváez will be mine until death."
That deserves the third... Yikes!
At the lad office, Maricruz signs the papers deeding over the 5 hectares of land to the poor folks. A smirking José A stands behind her. As the land guy leaves for a moment, José A asks where these people will live until the houses are completed.
"Tents."
He asks who will pay for those and of course she answers that she will. She's going to pay for everything.
Looks like we may find out just how rich don Alejandro really was. Do I sense a faint whiff of Exmir in our future? Wonder what Natasha will think of Karim? Probably just wishful thinking on my part.
Miguel is wanting to go out but has to stay indoors. Maybe later. Octavio is about to go out and Miguel thinks he should say a proper goodbye to Simona. Octavio admits that Simona is beginning to get on his nerves.
Maricruz arrives at Realengo and summons her new pets. They straggle in and gather around her like a herd of obedient cattle. She indicates that she is a benevolent dictator by smiling sweetly and flexing those dimples.
Miguel observes that Simona is both affectionate as well as a bit jealous. Octavio replies that is precisely the thing that is bugging him about her, the jealousy. In small doses it flatters but an overdose is deadly. Miguel points out that Simona might very well have some motive for a bit of jealousy. Simona appears and gets that proper goodbye kiss after all. She asks where he's going. He going to a meeting of stockmen. He tells her not to wait dinner on him but she insists that he show up for dinner. He'll try. She tells him that now there are two that she must worry about. Two vampires, the old, Maricruz, and now that Natasha.
Holding the hand of one of the cute kids, Maricruz announces to the folks gathered round that the papers are signed and it's time to get crackin'. They applaud semi-enthusiastically.
"The place we're going to share has to end up being a model for all our neighbors. There will be no stealing, no one should do anything unwarranted, eh? We have to be an example for our kids who will soon begin to go to school, study, and pray like all good Christians. Do you agree?"
This is met with yeses and more applause.
Simona isn't done. She tells Octavio how Natasha just popped by unannounced,
"And you know what she said? That the countryside is vast and free so that two people could meet whenever they wish."
He tries to reassure her that if they should cross paths he'd greet her and be on his way,
"You are the only woman in my life."
She's reassured,
"I believe in you."
He rewards her with a passionate kiss to the forehead as Miguel looks up from the newspaper he is reading and wisely observes,
"She's clinging too tightly to my brother but she has lots of money. Why can't I find me someone like that? Maybe that Natasha would be a good prospect."
As Octavio walks out there's a guy waiting to talk to him about something important.
Things aren't peaceful at Rancho Abuelo. José Antonio is shouting at Maricruz.
Hey, wait just an orange-pickin' minute... doesn't this nitwit work for Maricruz? I say fire his scuzzy butt and hire a ranch foreman with a little respect. He's worried that she's poofing away all her money on this ill-thought-out project. I hate to admit it but he does have a point. He shouts,
"Water, lights, streets... those people can't have the comforts that you have here."
By the way, does this pimple ever change shirts?
Maricruz is feeling powerless because she so wants to help these people...
"They remind me of my childhood. The remind me of my grandfather."
She reminds us with a Technicolor flashback of the good old days back in the jacal with gramps. She is holding a pot up to catch the rain pouring through a leaky roof. Ah, those were happy times.
Maricruz sits as José A kneels before her. He tells her that her neighboring ranchers are furious over her little project and no one wants to help out. They are worried that the class of people that she is helping out by donating the land will bring down property values and plague the community with their thieving ratitude. She reminds him that she once stole potatoes in order to eat and survive. This time she has a standard sepia flashback,
"That was precisely how I met Octavio Narváez because one of those bastards tried to molest me. And that's why from that moment on I adored him, I adored Octavio because he helped me... because he rescued me. I saw him as a god."
He reminds her that she adored him because she really really like... liked him.
"Well, that too... a bit."
Nevertheless, she's made up her mind to save these people no matter what.
Remember the guy who has something important to talk to Octavio about? Same thing that José A was talking about. Ranchers aren't happy about the new neighbors that this Mendoza broad is sharing her land with. They are arming themselves with shotguns to protect their stuff. Octavio doesn't have time to argue about it now... he's a busy man doncha know.
Wow! Forget all those awful things that I've said about Maricruz's new fashion. She looks just fine proudly astraddle this pretty horse with those bare thighs exposed to the coutry air and sun. Lookin' good, Crazy (but very generous) Lady!
She dismounts and approaches a very distressed woman cradling a very sick child in her arms. She tells Maricruz that the child is burning up with fever and won't eat. Maricruz tries a little happy talk,
"Look señita, don't worry he'll be OK."
After hearing that he can't eat or drink because his throat is so swollen, Maricruz thinks a Dr. might be needed. Maricruz really does want to help.
Octavio rides up and shouts,
"Maricruz!"
She replies with,
"What are you doing here?"
When we return from commercials, Nazario is shouting out orders at the work site. He really sounds spookily like his deceased brother (may Eusebio smolder in Hell through all eternity). Natasha strolls up with her paints, brushes, easel and canvas. It's a good day to do a little paintin', She greets the guys cheerily,
"¡Hola!"
Nazario and the other guy discuss the fine points of art. It doesn't all get done in one day the other guy explains. Nazario vows to fix himself up then, but learns that artists prefer that rough unkempt look.
"They say that we men are like bears, more ugly... more pretty."
Natasha is visualizing her painting as José A rides up. Now here's an ugly bear for the pretty artist. Natasha likes what see sees.
Octavio tries to convince Maricruz that her project may be noble but is folly. They quarrel but are (mercifully for us) interrupted by a cry from the woman with the sick child. They both rush to her aid.
Natasha turns on the charm as she oozes closer to José A,
"You're the foreman of this project?"
"Of the project no, of the whole ranch."
She tells him that she is going to paint the chapel but then takes a closer look at José A and imagines more interesting possibilities.
"I'd love to see your nude torso."
She doesn't have to say it twice... he shucks off his tank top.
She contemplates her new subject.
We rejoin Maricruz, Octavio, and the mother with her sick child.
The kid is choking. Octavio reacts instinctively. He will give mouth to mouth resuscitation. He barks.
"Put him completely horizontal!"
He holds the youngster's nostrils closed and dives in.
The child is OK for the moment, but was choking on phlegm. He needs a doctor. Octavio announces gravely,
"Almost certainly this boy has diptheria!"
Maricruz reacts,
"That's very contagious, Octavio."
"Yes, it's possible that at any momen he'll choke again. Please, someone bring a doctor."
Maricruz pleads with some of her new subjects who have gathered around,
"Please find a doctor!"
She pulls Octavio away and laments,
Octavio, you were exposed, you were exposed!

Wow! Forget all those awful things that I've said about Maricruz's new fashion. She looks just fine proudly astraddle this pretty horse with those bare thighs exposed to the coutry air and sun. Lookin' good, Crazy (but very generous) Lady!

"Look señita, don't worry he'll be OK."
After hearing that he can't eat or drink because his throat is so swollen, Maricruz thinks a Dr. might be needed. Maricruz really does want to help.
Octavio rides up and shouts,
"Maricruz!"
She replies with,
"What are you doing here?"
When we return from commercials, Nazario is shouting out orders at the work site. He really sounds spookily like his deceased brother (may Eusebio smolder in Hell through all eternity). Natasha strolls up with her paints, brushes, easel and canvas. It's a good day to do a little paintin', She greets the guys cheerily,
"¡Hola!"
Nazario and the other guy discuss the fine points of art. It doesn't all get done in one day the other guy explains. Nazario vows to fix himself up then, but learns that artists prefer that rough unkempt look.
"They say that we men are like bears, more ugly... more pretty."
Natasha is visualizing her painting as José A rides up. Now here's an ugly bear for the pretty artist. Natasha likes what see sees.
Octavio tries to convince Maricruz that her project may be noble but is folly. They quarrel but are (mercifully for us) interrupted by a cry from the woman with the sick child. They both rush to her aid.
Natasha turns on the charm as she oozes closer to José A,
"You're the foreman of this project?"
"Of the project no, of the whole ranch."
She tells him that she is going to paint the chapel but then takes a closer look at José A and imagines more interesting possibilities.
"I'd love to see your nude torso."
She doesn't have to say it twice... he shucks off his tank top.

She contemplates her new subject.

We rejoin Maricruz, Octavio, and the mother with her sick child.
The kid is choking. Octavio reacts instinctively. He will give mouth to mouth resuscitation. He barks.
"Put him completely horizontal!"
He holds the youngster's nostrils closed and dives in.

The child is OK for the moment, but was choking on phlegm. He needs a doctor. Octavio announces gravely,
"Almost certainly this boy has diptheria!"
Maricruz reacts,
"That's very contagious, Octavio."
"Yes, it's possible that at any momen he'll choke again. Please, someone bring a doctor."
Maricruz pleads with some of her new subjects who have gathered around,
"Please find a doctor!"
She pulls Octavio away and laments,
Octavio, you were exposed, you were exposed!

For anyone puzzling over the next to last photo caption "Smells Mousey"... When I was an intern at Brackenridge Hospital in Austin, Texas in 1969 and 1970, we experienced an epidemic of diptheria. Patients with diptheria give off an aroma that smells... ummm... mousey.
I'm lovin' me some Natasha but I wish she'd ditch the headscarf and opt for a narrow leather headband.

I love that you captured that moment with Lupita smiling in her crib. My daughter did that smile all the time when she thought I wasn't looking! That baby is a great actress and should get an award next Premios TVyNovelas. That will be the best red carpet look ever!

Oh my gosh Carlos, I don't think I've ever laughed so hard at a recap. So many zingers and the captions were hilarious (thanks for explaining the 'mousey smell).
I really enjoyed last night's episode. It's amazing how one new character can stir up so much. I think if there was a glaring contest, Simona would win hands down.Every scene she was in had her giving someone the evil eye. I'm looking forward to the comments today. Thanks for a very entertaining recap.

Carlos - I'm out and about running errands but had to take a break to read your recap. People in the mall are staring at the strange lady laughing as she looks at her little phone screen.
Haven't seen the episode yet but am really looking forward to seeing Mari and Tav work together to save a kid's life. I love it when the hero and heroine work together. Mari also seems to have spent much of the episode trying to get her project off the ground, which also makes me happy.

I see you also captured that scar on Nazario's face in one of your photos. Didn't Miguel go back to the scene of the crime and find that Eusebio's body was gone? Is Nazario really a reanimated Eusebio pretending to be his own twin brother in order to better trap and avenge himself of Miguel? Because if he weren't really dead, then Miguel wouldn't be guilty of anything! Ay, my head hurts!

I'm only kinda sorta watching this one, but of course I wouldn't miss the recaps. Carlos, this was awesome. I especially love your photos and captions. Although, the volleyball coach one kind of threw me for a loop because the girls' volleyball coach at my high school looked almost exactly like that guy, except without the long hair in the back, and he purportedly had a habit of hooking up with high school girls. So gross!
I still don't understand why everyone is so worried about Maricruz's money situation. She owns multiple casinos and a big fancy house in the city. Surely the value of all that is WAY more than what she's spending on a low-frills little village. Even if she got low on cash, she's got the assets to keep her a really long way from being broke.
Can JA just start being an artist's model and never speak again? He looks so much better with his mouth shut.

If Miguel shaved, got a haircut, lost about 20lbs and worked out to get buff, he may have a chance because that's what Natasha wants. But as he stands now, no way.
Julia, All the men in this novela should keep their mouths shout, and a lot of the women, too. The only ones allowed to talk are Solita and Lupita!!!

As I have previously mentioned that the writings are on the wall- MC would be losing all her millions I guess. If that were true, wouldn't hurt her much cuz she knows how to be poor. But what I worry about, she would be with the realongo people who would be homeless again. Where would they go? Who can really help these people? Why can't the government relocate them instead of giving them a small amount of compensation? Don't they have govt.lands to apportion to them like a homestead?

Carlos- I still haven't seen this episode, or the one from the other day when Mari makes the promise to the people of Realengo and makes Tav do it too. Maybe they just don't have many extras? I've never been able to get much of a sense of how many people live in Realengo. If JA said they'll need up to 300 houses, then it must be a lot.
One thing that struck me last episode is that Mari said she'll employ all of the people who move in. Really? What will all those people be doing exactly? She's going to pay them all to produce what? I'm starting to see some ways she can waste a LOT of her money on this.

Carlos, there has to be a financial crisis looming. This was either the second or third time that future Maricruz money problems have been alluded to. Is she using an accountant or is just spending with no real idea of how much is going out and coming in? Cash flow problems? Back in the early Isla Dorada days this probably was not so much of an issue but with buying the ranch that doesn't seem to support itself very well, developing what will be a small town, the clothes, the furnishings, the hospital bills, the fashion, supporting the mansion in DF, employee salaries, etc., etc., Maricruz could have gotten herself into a financial mess. Maricruz is bright but is still very very young in the ways of the world.

Carlos, I think the writers expect us to not worry our pretty little heads over those kind of details. We already know there's a serious lack of sophistication to this story. it's light and fluffy, and we have to take it at face value with whatever comes up. First we were told that MCs land was 200 hectares, now they tell us it's 45. So we go with the flow over the newest information and quickly forget the earlier information.

What to do about the homeless is an age old problem. And what you think is the reason for their homelessness has everything to do with solving it.
I don't know what the statistics are, but many homeless in this country are mentally ill. So to fix the problem with how we deal with the mentally ill would fix the problem with their homelessness. If the homelessness is caused by lack of jobs or too low minimum wage, then boosting the economy and minimum wage would help to solve that problem.
If the homelessness is caused by simply being lazy and lack of desire to work, then nothing will solve that.

I think, that the problem is that Romero copy-pasted different episodes from the different previous versions, that is why here such a great problems with the logic. And he was really lazy to read, what he "wrote". And they were filming very hard in different locations everyday for more then 20 episodes in one. So this novela is like puzzle. Or better say, that they had parts from few puzzles and tried to make one. The result sometimes puzzled me a lot.
About Realengo. I think we shouldn't think a lot about this place. I mean, I don't think Romero used some elementary logic, when he copy-pasted this part. I'm sure it will be as absurd as others. So we should better relax and stop thinking. It's much more entertaining to watch on Lupita. Oh, yes, she deserved her award. As far as I remember, her real name is Amparo Luz. So bad, that they even didn't put her name in opening credits.

However, the guy does look good on a steed. By the way, what is up with Mexican guys holding on to the reins with just one hand. YIKES. I first noticed this when I was watching my first novela Alborada. Don Luis and his team would ride wildly while having only one hand on the reins.I've only ridden a horse once when I was about 12. I held on with both hands and was very nervous.
As for Realango, I was always under the impression that the folks were squatting on public land and that the rich ranchers did not want Mari helping these folks to settle in any more than they already have.

Susanlynn- In western riding the reins are held just with the left hand so you can lasso stuff or shoot at peons with the right. I did a ride in Argentina with a couple from England and they had a hard time with that.
A few hundred affordable housing units shouldn't be out of reach for her. She just may have to skip the light rail system and hand out mules instead. Then again, the casino was only worth, what, 4 or 5 million?

gringo, it's not so much that I prefer the bad girls, but I do enjoy the frisky and naughty and that often excludes the main fem for me. As for Natasha, I'd be inclined to describe her as robust and well-nourished. I was startled and cracked up when José Antonio peeled off his shirt... I didn't realize that he could move so quickly.

The minimum wage is definitely too low there. If JA has been working hard in full-time employment all this time, and he can barely afford a shabby shack he built himself on free land, the minimum of food, and no medical care even when his wife and baby desperately needed it, then his wages are way too low. I still don't understand why all those poor people weren't panning for gold in the river, though. Panning for gold is easy. It just takes a lot of patience. We did it on school field trips all the time when I was a kid.

I am watlching a classic Mexican melodrama from 1944 "Bugambilia" this afternoon and the class separation and the resultant hatred are a major theme depicting 19th c. Mexico. Must have been relevant in 1944 to make a movie about it and it appears to still be relevant in 2013. In CI.

Carlos...Ahhhhhh typing. I cannot type thanks to Mr. L. our high school principal. I tried to take two electives in my senior year , creative writing and typing , but only one could fit into my schedule , and Mr. L insisted that it be creative writing. My beau (now hub) could type , so he usually typed my papers for me. Fast forward to the world of today. Thanks, Mr. L, for the bad advice. I still do not know how to type,and Hub still does any typing we need to do. However, he is always impressed by how fast I can hunt and peck on the computer. Now, my advice to you , Carlos, is to get an Ipad. The keyboard appears on the screen , and you use a stylus to type the letters by simply touching the keyboard. Hubby is now really impressed by how fast I can "type." I usually hate technology , but sometimes , I luvvvve it.

Ha! Susanlynn. For some reason I just assumed that all women were born knowing how to type. The Lovely Linda has an Ipad so I may borrow it to try out your suggestion.

She had jet black hair pulled back in a severe bun, black plastic rimmed glasses and almost grotesquely heavy makeup. Even in the heat of a Texas summer she wore woolen suits with a silk scarf wrapped tightly and securely around her neck. Thick stockings and of course... sensible shoes.
Surprisingly, she was a real sweetie. On the last day of class before the final she came over to me after the class to offer me encouragement. She told me I was on the brink of a breakthrough and should take part 2 in the next summer semester. I promised her that if she would give me a passing grade that she'd never see me again. Fortunately the final test was based more on accuracy than speed. I actually escaped with a B and was true to my word... hence I peck out my recaps.

She could have been an out of state owner with a steady stream om income from that casino but who am I? She didn't listen to me and sold it. Ok, that still leaves her with four steady streams of income.

Alegria, I'm always interested in what you think... you've been instrumental in helping me keep up my enthusiasm for this TN. I agree with you:

Susanlynn and Carlos, These typing discussion are fascinating for me. I know two brilliant well-educated women who don't know how to type. One, from Berkeley, refused to take typing because she was afraid she'd be required to take secretarial jobs. The other always had her dad's secretary type her papers in high school and paid others to type them in college. It's been a drawback in both their professional lives however.
We had no choice at my school. If we were planning to go to college, we had to take typing, plus an advanced composition course that required writing 6 papers a week and a course on Latin and Greek derivatives. No choice. Had to do it. And I'm so glad. In college, I did all my rough drafts on the typewriter because I could type faster than I could write. And of course the Latin and Greek derivatives course has been a blessing all my life.
Anyway, you both could have fooled me....because you both write so well and so fluently I figure you're tapping away at top speed.

Carlos, I understand. But this people live somehow even without her help. Now the main problem is that they lost their houses. Ok, she will build them. Ok, it will cost her a lot, but I dont think, that she will build them penthouses. Then even that community decided to work. May be they will help her with that oranges. Anyway, she has even a rancho which can bring her new money. And by the way, 300 families are realy a big community, so they can make government also pay them.
But all this is nothing, when it comes to Romero. He don't know the word "logic". That is why I'm afraid, that all our talking is useless.

Mari seems to starting a one woman habitat for humanity. I guess that any attempt to make sense if this novela is futile.
Alegria..I am always interested in your comments. I especially liked the idea of trying to fit pieces from several different puzzles together. I think that is an accurate description.
Judyb..I type only with the index finger of my left hand, but the Ipad has changed the game for me. Hub watches transfixed as I use the stylus to hit the letters on the screen. I am very speedy using the stylus on the Ipad screen. It's so much easier for me than when I had to use the keyboard on the desktop computer. On the Ipad , the letters are right in front of me on the screen. I think that I have kind of memorized where each letter is without even trying . In high school , I had two years of Latin and two years of French. I had the same teacher for both, and I mostly learned to sing songs in both languages. She also was my English teacher. the people to be good. There were allegations that the nearby land owners will be arming themselves and will be ready to shoot trespassers. Everyone would hope that dosen't happen, that the people would be greatful to Mari and thus obey the law. If it does however and someone gets shot or caught for stealing, then I guess that Maricruz could get hit with a bunch of lawsuits from her fellow ranchers for bringing the Realengo people in.
Another VERY BIG problem that seems to be waiting for Monday and also Maricruz is an outbreak of the plague or in this case diptheria. It looks like One Cell will have it by Monday which should

Susanlynn...clearly the administrators at our schools had different visions. At my school, they made the argument that we would do better and our papers would be received better if they were typewritten. I've always felt very grateful for my high school education and for what they insisted on. But clearly, not typing hasn't held you back!
My French teacher was horrid and I found languages quite boring in my younger days (no grand ideas, just lots of crap to memorize)but now that I'm motivated and trying not to lose all my marbles, I do try hard to improve my Spanish.

Alegria, since you've referred to Carlos Romero a number of times I checked to see if I've had previous experience with any of his work. The only other TN of his that I've seen was Peregrina. I think I may one of the very few people who watched it. It actually was rather entertaining although rather bizarre at times. One of the main characters was a clown (I ordinarily despise clowns but this one was a pretty nice guy... as clowns go), and of course there were twins, one good and one evil, and get this... a monkey. The monkey was a key character for a while and then one day just wasn't there anymore and no one (but me) seemed to miss him (sound familiar?). It certainly was not very memorable but also wasn't one of the worst I've seen either.

Carlos, for me it's enough that I saw marimar. It's amazing, that he copypasted the script of the novela, which he already adapted 20 years ago. Hello, today is not 1993. But he simply forgot about this. Or ignored this fact, or I dont know.
At first his adaptation was not bad and I could close my eyers on some monkey written parts. But the end of the part of Isla and this part needed a very good adaptation for our times. But he simply copypasted. As I once said, I want his job.

Carlos and Susanlynn---It was interesting to me to read your typing stories. I thought that I was the only index finger typist on the blog. When I was in High School and typing was offered I was
very happy to learn it. I started Typing 1 with a great attitude and tried hard. I don't remember my top speed but I think it was in the high 20's maybe 28--29 or maybe up to 30 wpm. I thought that I was doing good as I never saw a keyboard before and there was no typwriter in my home to practice on
What I didn't know when I took the class was that more than half of the class already knew how to type
thru Summer School typing class. So even though those students were in typing 1 with me, they came in on day one being able to do 28/30 wpm when I was trying just to learn the keyboard. It didn't bother me until it came time for grades. The class was graded on a curve so of course those with Summer School experience all got A's or close to it. Because of my lack of Summer School, I was near the class bottom. I didn't fail the class but got a low grade.
I was devestated, I had tried hard and felt that I had been treated unfairly. I felt that the LA School
System had let me down so when it came time for Typing 2 I said no, I didn't want to be treated unfairly again. Well, that was a long time ago. I have forgotten the keyboard after these many years
and that probably explains why I have a sore index finger after the Caray blogs.

Remember the notario told Maricruz that she was spending way too much for the Rancho Narvaez by accepting its mortgages and debts. Those other rancheros inherited their land and do nothing for the workers. She probably sold the casino cheap just to get out of there. After spending way too much while on Isla Dorada, all her lawyer fees about everything, the many flights here and there, I can believe she's running out of money.

It was a while ago, but I still remember I was the fastest typist in my 9th grade class. All your talk about typewriting made me want to figure out how fast I can type right now, as I lay in bed with my laptop practically on top of my stomach. Yes, I'm slouching completely.
Anyway, I figured I could find a typing test online if I just googled it, and sure enough I did. I took a one-minute test and even laying down I managed to type 64 wpm, but with one mistake, so it gave me a score of 63 wpm. sigh
Under normal conditions, sitting properly at my desk, I can easily type 100 wpm, and when I was younger and didn't have carpel tunnel syndrome I probably typed 120 wpm, which came in handy in college when I waited to crank out essays until the night before they were due. My roommates in law school joked that if I ended up not making it as a lawyer at least I could make it as a secretary.

Took typing in high school and then never used it in any of my jobs. And then I retired and started to help out a friend with technical writing, proofreading and editing. My top speed in high school was 100wpm - it is now 75-80wpm. Weird how it automatically (the keyboard) comes back to you just like that. Same with shorthand. Took Gregg shorthand and never used it for work, but I (still) use it now whenever I want to take fast notes!

There was a nifty word in Friday's episode that I thought someone else would have noticed then perhaps notice in the recap that I attempted to make a sly reference to it:
"...plague the community with their thieving ratitude."

I am liking the interaction of JA and MC in the recent episodes. I'm not really convinced that JA is "in love" with MC anymore. He may be in love with thememory of his infatuation but they do go on and on more like old friends.
This was an episode or so prior, but I loved the scene of MC at her desk laughing and relishing the thought of Simona's reaction when she learned Tav had given away part of her land. Of course, this did not come to past (at least not yet) but this was the first time we have seen a smile on MC's face and her having some fun with her venganza. I could have felt a little bad if Simona hadn't had a personality transplant recently but the writers have made it easy for us to dislike her. Maricruz's spur of the moment matching land grant challenge to Tav produced some good moments.

What with a private jet and all, I figured that don Alejandro had almost unlimited wealth.

With all of the bad writing and poor continuity and on, and on, and on---I know that this novela is going to be one of my all time favorites and I have seen about a dozen so far. CI just draws me in. I can't wait for tonight's episode.
CI beats all of the competition on the Caray blog almost every night. Vivi has stated that's because the others are posted late. Well, that might be true sometimes but it's not true all of the time---sorry Vivi. CI is killing La Temp. in the comment catagory this weekend and La Temp. is CI's closest rival
And now some recient thoughts---As
several people have stated, Saint Mari may be heading into financial ruin tring to save/help the poor all by herself. I say that it's a shame that NONE of the neighboring ranchers will help her in her quest. And now to make things worse
it looks like there is a major disease outbrake developing and Saint Mari will surely be blamed for it. Looking farther down the road ---We know/think that $imona will/must die. If and when that happens, wouldn't Oblivio inherit the ranch? When Oblivio and Saint Mari are reunited, wouldn't their ranches be combined? They probably will end up with the biggest rancho in the state.

the're several but the one that made me laugh the hardest was the picture caption of the goddess Maricruz on her horse and she says, "I'm lookin' fine and I freakin' know it." Oh yes, she's lookin' fine for sure.
With all of the bad writing and poor continuity and on, and on, and on---I know that this novela is going to be one of my all time favorites and I have seen about a dozen so far. CI just draws me in. I can't wait for tonight's episode.
CI beats all of the competition on the Caray blog almost every night. Vivi has stated that's because the others are posted late. Well, that might be true sometimes but it's not true all of the time---sorry Vivi. CI is killing La Temp. in the comment catagory this weekend and La Temp. is CI's closest rival
And now some recient thoughts---As
several people have stated, Saint Mari may be heading into financial ruin tring to save/help the poor all by herself. I say that it's a shame that NONE of the neighboring ranchers will help her in her quest. And now to make things worse
it looks like there is a major disease outbrake developing and Saint Mari will surely be blamed for it. Looking farther down the road ---We know/think that $imona will/must die. If and when that happens, wouldn't Oblivio inherit the ranch? When Oblivio and Saint Mari are reunited, wouldn't their ranches be combined? They probably will end up with the biggest rancho in the state.
What do you guys think?

I was missing you this past weekend... I'm so glad that you enjoyed the recap.
Thanks again gringo, I'll try not to get too swell-headed from the praise. It sounds like your typing lesson was very similar to mine, but mine had a slightly happier ending though it sounds as though you ended up typing a bit faster than I. At the beginning of the class the teacher asked for those who had taken typing in high school to raise their hands... everyone, including the only other guy (who dropped out during the second week) in the class raised their hands... gulp!
I was surprised that my confession of lack of typing skills brought out more comments. I'm amazed by skilled typists... I'm of course looking at you, Latina. When you are typing that fast do you absorb and comprehend the words or is it purely a mechanical thing at that speed?

I'm watching CI but....."a day late and a dollar short!" I'm now caught up and decided to treat myself to one of your ALWAYS fantastic recaps. Your screen caps are stand alone, even my old Señor had a few chuckles. I'm afraid my fave was, " I 'll Be Coaching Girl's Volleyball At The New School." That was just such a super current 2013 caption, the photo said it all! The entire recap was fantastic in every way....(as usual!)
So MCO loses her dinero and moves back into her own upgraded Mexican Habitat village, then $imona dies leaving Octavio her rico ranch.....and we are back at the beginning to start the novela all over again! My head is spinning!
