He is all alone in the wilderness and now the animals will eat him! CI Wed Sept. 4th

Hi  patio peeps, I'm finally back, although the virus still seems to be giving me issues, at any rate I hope you enjoy the recap. Eli

Tonight we are all going to learn what not do in the event of a plane crash.

At the crash site Octavio and his passengers and crew all manage to make it out alive, he shouts to everyone to keep calm, everything will be okay. I don't know why he did this because everyone seems calm enough, actually they all seem way too calm for people that just survived a plane crash, but I'm not going to over think this. Anyhoo, Octavio goes off in search for help with an injured leg, no water, and no compass to show him the way. Folks, I think  one of the brain cells was injured during the crash and poor Octavio is down to one brain cell. Pray for him.

In ID MariaA is still freaking out, she is holding Lupita while Juanita plays a game of 21 questions with her. What if Octavio is dead? why doesn't she ask the governor for help? Does she still love Octavio? MA answers that the Governor is already doing his part and that she is still in love with Octavio and can't imagine him dead.

Somewhere in the wilderness Octavio is walking, and walking and walking, he thought bubbles that he needs to get back to the group but he is getting tired, his leg is swelling up and he's afraid he will die. He just hopes someone finds him.

The next day Doris comes to see daddy, who is busy on the phone answering questions from the media. She wants to know if there's any news on Octavio and her father tells her that the crash survivors have been found and are being rescued! Yay says Doris! Not so fast says the Governor, everyone has been found, everyone but Octavio that is! He then tells her that it looks like Octavio left the group to search for help and that he is injured, Doris starts to cry and says she wants to go look for him, if he's out there the animals might eat him! I swear you guys, she actually said that. The animals might eat him. Ummmm, okay. That would be kinda neat in a way, can you imagine how much juice she could get out of that story? At a boring party she could always bring it up, like this; "I once had  a boyfriend, he was in a plane crash, got lost and was eaten by wild animals. True story". Who could ever top that? Sorry, I got distracted from my point, moving on now.

The Governor tells Doris that they will continue to look for Octavio, they won't give up until they have exhausted all their means and he is sure that they will find him soon safe and sound. He was also going to call MariaA to let her know the news but Doris prevents him from doing so.What a witch. Elsewhere MariaA is still worried, she has not heard from the Governor and she too wants to go out and search for Octavio, she knows that Karim has the means to help form a rescue team so she will go to him for help.

Doris and Mariana are off having another of their stupid girl talks, Doris tells Mariana that she will go to the person dealing with the search and rescue efforts so that she can join the search, she wants to be the first person Octavio sees when he is rescued. Mariana tells her that's not a good idea, what if he is in bad shape, what if the animals got to him?! *massive eye roll* Doris does not care, she wants to be seen with Octavio, who the public now views as a hero! Mariana tells her that MariaA will be there with the baby to meet him and will take the spotlight from her, they will give the public a great show and will reconcile! Nuuh, says Doris, she will have Octavio flown to the military hospital and MariaA wont be able to set foot there! And she also has a plan to get rid of MariaA, it will be something so bad that her dad wont be able to back MariaA because he always avoids scandals, both in his private and professional lives. Doris, you need help girl.

Eduardo and Aracely are also mourning the loss of Octavio, Eduardo says that it is only a matter of time before they call off the search for his friend. They have not done so yet because they are afraid of the public's reaction but he is sure that they (the authorities) will abandon his friend and he does not know how he will cope without his besty. *tears*

It seems like another day has passed and Doris gets bad news from her dad, the search has been suspended, Octavio is as good as dead! She cries, and asks for more to be done, they have not searched enough, they need to continue the search! No can do says good old dad, they can resume the search after a prudent amount of time has passed but for now there's nothing they can do. Easy for him to say, he's not out in the wild exposed to the elements, with no water or food, with a gimpy leg and only one working brain cell. Also, and correct me if I'm wrong but wouldn't it be better to look for Ocativo while he might still be alive? Why search for him later when his chances of survival are slim to none? Are these people stupid? (No need to answer that, I think we all know the answer). The Governor tries to comfort his brat  by telling her everything will be all right.

We now take a detour and visit our favorite pueblo to catch up with Ester and Jose Antonio
*Be warned, you might need to get a barf bag ready*

Ester is out of her little hovel when Clorinda (who comes up with these names?) spots her and comes over to chat, she notices that Ester is still holding the babies blanket and tells her that it is not healthy to continue touching the babies things. Ester says she's not offending anyone by doing so, so what's the big deal? Clorina tells her that what she is doing is unhealthy, she gives Ester some good advice and tells her that living in misery and poverty is not the life for her, she should go back to her people and her old life. Ester is not having it, she says her husband brought her to this place, she had a baby here and she buried him here, so she's not going anywhere. Fair enough, but if she plans to stay there surely someone could get her a hair brush and some lip gloss, oooh and maybe some blush because girlfriend is looking like a hot mess.

While Ester explains to Clorinda why she wont leave the swamp lands (that's what I'm calling them) Jose Antonio is off talking with Simona, he tells her that he has given Ester an ultimatum, either she goes back to the hacienda or to Simonas house or he is not returning to their home. Simona wants to know why he would do such a thing, does he not love Ester? Jose Antonio tells her that's not the case, he loves her a lot but Ester is not cut out to live a life of poverty. If he loves her so much why did he treat her like crap while she was pregnant? Why did he insist on taking her to live in a place with no running water and no food? I'm willing to bet this fool has no idea what the word "love" means, Jose Antonio you are dead to me!

He continues with his rant and says that he is a poor man with no education, he does not deserve a woman like Ester, he can not get her medication or medical care or even food! Simona tells him that he can always better himself and she again offers him land to build a house on, she will turn over paper work to make everything official if that's what he wants  but he says that he will never build a house on someone else's land, not after what happened to Don Ramiro. Simoa tells him to let that go, but nope, he is like a dog with a bone.

Jose Antonio continues and says that everything that has happened is Esters fault, after all she was the one that came on to him- what a punk he is! Simona tells him that a gentleman would never say such a thing about a woman but he tells her he is no gentleman (word), the death of his child has devastated him and he can see that Ester is the kind of woman that would need a doctor while giving birth (Jesus someone smack him for me!) and so any future offspring would be in trouble. Simona asks if that's the reason he wants to leave Ester and he says that it is. She tells him that she will have an honest conversation with Ester and will ask her to come live with her.

Somewhere in the wilderness Octavio faints.

In Isla Dorada MariaA goes to visit Karim, she tells him that she needs a favor from him, she needs help finding the pilot, she confesses that he is the father of her baby and she tells Karim she will give him anything he wants if he helps her, with one condition of course, he needs to take her with him. And what qualifies Karim to lead the search party? Well, he's gone hunting in Africa for wild animals, therefor he is more than qualified to lead the search. Read that again and let it sink in. Then adjust your beanies and move on. Karim agrees to help, what a prince *snort*

The news of the search party makes the newspaper, and soon everyone knows that Karim is going to search for Octavio and that MariaA will be going with him to help. Miguel is surprised that she is doing all this, especially considering the fact that she hates the Narvaez clan. Eduardo visits Miguel and is informed of the new search party, I guess Ed does not read the newspaper, can't say I'm surprised by that. Ed, being a good besty offers his help as well.

We are then taken back to Karims house where he and Teobaldo are taking about the search party, Teo is against the idea, its too dangerous for MariaA to go out there and he wants Karim to talk her out of it but Karim refuses to, he wants MariaA to go with him, and he finally confesses that he only wants her for her body, he does not love her. Yeah, we knew that already.

Doris, who needs to find a hobby or something goes to visit MariaA and a shouting match gets underway. She accuses MariaA of wanting to shame her father by insinuating that he did not do enough for Octavio, MariA disagrees and says all she wants to do is find Octavio regardless of what it costs her, Doris gets ugly and says that MariaA will probably sleep with Karim in order to pay her debt. MariaA finally gets her out of her house. Juanita, who is still playing 21 questions asks her why she would go searching for Octavio when he is engaged to Doris, MariaA tells her its because she prefers to have Octavio marry Doris than dead.

Doris and Mariana again, god why do we have to listen to them? Why?! Mariana tries to get Doris to forget about Octavio, she tells her to find a young man with money and good social standing but Doris wants Octavio, and what Doris wants, Doris gets.

Ed goes to visit MariaA and tells her he will help pilot the plane that they will use to search for Octavio, he also talks to Karim and Karim allows to let him join the search party. Ed and MariaA talk about Octavio and he asks her if she still loves him, she says its not love but her tells her that a person can't fake the way they feel and that he is sure she loves Octavio. I love how he keeps calling her "senora". Heehee.

In the wild Octavio managed to get up and continue walking, he wants to get to his passengers before they die, but there's one little problem, he has been out in the wilderness for four days and is getting weaker by the second, he falls to the ground again, says that he is dying and that he loves MariaA and hopes that one day she can forgive him.

Before I leave you here is what we learned about plane crashes: Do not, and I repeat DO NOT leave the scene of the accident, if you do everyone else will be rescued while your sorry butt is walking around injured, thirsty and hungry. And they say tv doesn't teach you anything. They lie! Now we can all survive a plane crash.

I'm sure there's more to tonight's episode but my DVR cut off- the show has been running over every night, if someone can tell us how it ends that would be a huge help!

Glad to have you back Eli and may that pesky virus go take a walkabout with our buddy Octavio!
I was chuckling through this whole recap...boy you must have been having a hoot with this one.

He's a pilot....a pilot. There are procedures to follow. They have instruments that can be tracked for last location...they will be rescued. WTH possessed him to go wandering off only a TN writer will know the secret to that one. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry at the total stupidity of this whole scenario. And add all the other players to this as well. #SHUTUPEVERYONE.

But then again, we have the other poster child for stupidity, JA. How Simona could stand there and remain calm listening to him, bless that woman. You know that woman who slapped the NASCAR driver...I could have given her a run for her money if JA was in front of me. But wanna bet that somehow, someway these same writers will wrap Jester in a pretty bow at the end of this?

I am finding that a tall glass of Pinot Grigio (or two) is handy in getting through these plot lines.

Daisynjay

Very funny recap, thanks.

Poor Octo. Stick around the crash and you might have a better chance of being rescued wasn't in his welcome pilot packet. Now he has to endure as did Maricruz. Will he become a "wild" man?

Doris is fun to watch. Maybe if Octo was married to her for a few years, he might finally appreciate Maricruz.

Great job Eli. I was laughing through the entire episode and the whole recap. There really are no words. Your asides were a perfect reflection of my feelings.

I wasn't quite sure why Doris was mad - I thought she was upset that MA dared launch a personal rescue effort. But it was because it was a poor reflection on her father?

Wow - what a thing to get fixated on, but then again, she had wanted to be involved in the rescue so that "she would be the first one Octavio saw". How dare anyone else try to rescue him!

Thanks much, Eli, that was excellent!

Very funny recap, Eli.

I'm glad to hear you are doing better too.

Oh Eli, I am so glad this one fell on your Wednesday. This show is going to get even dumber if that's possible. Good job with all the inanity though. So many ShutUpDoris moments.

How big is this uninhabited island? They can't find him anywhere after 4 days?

Simona, give JA a raise. He will then have enough money to pay for food and clothing at least. How low is his salary? And what does the fact that Ramiro dying in a shack have anything to do with him not living in a house or land provided by Simona? I don't get the connection.

Cathyx - ITA. It's a small island. He should have gotten to the beach long ago, and how hard is it to find the OPEN FIELDS he's been fainting on?

I have been wondering about JA's burned shack logic for some time. He could be burned up just as easily in his holey shack in the swamplands, as he could be burned up in his house on Simona's lands. Whatever.

Thanks Eli, what a great, hilariously funny recap. I laughed all the way through.

I hope that Maricruz and Exmir Karim actually go to the right island to search. Wherever Octavio is wandering about doesn't look a bit like the place that they are discussing. Jungle? Canopy of trees hiding him? Wild animals? Bugs? It looks to me like he's stumbling around in a freshly plowed field which has a few shrubs and and few prickly pear.

LoriLoo, emeraldrose, Dorothy C and dad (welcome, by the way), I've always thought that there was something fishy about that birth and Clorinda and I still also have a glimmer of hope about that baby.

Carlos

Tks so much Eli

I just can't believe how stupid this basura continues to be. Mrs Mejia must keep saying, what can I do to torture the viewers?. FELS is Premios winner next to this. I must say it is so ridiculous that it is comical.

Oct of the one remaining significantly impaired brain cell is hoping someone will find him ¡Qué what! You think a search might see a huge airliner quicker than you, ¡imbécil!

¡the public will view him as a hero!
seriously?
Karim, with his experience in Africa might spot the animals before they spot the Imbécil. I think the only animals Imbécil will encounter are buzzards. What island is this, the Galapagos?

If Daniel Arenas is nominated for the Premios, everyone will ROTFLTAO!

f Daniel Arenas is nominated for the Premios, everyone will ROTFLTAO!

Variopinta, it's a Meija production, albeit a Mrs. one, so I would say the odds are pretty good on that happening. Any takers??

Daisynjay

Considering this is THE most popular tn right now, it's a guarantee that at least the leads will be nominated, and likely that they'll win.

It will be voted the least bad TN of the season, which will end up being the best of the season. I hear the others aren't better.

For me this fell into the so bad it's good category - I find it highly entertaining. Not to demean the actors either - its a strong cast and they're doing great with what they've got. It's the direction, writing, and editing that makes it so bad.

And, actually, I think Daniel Arenas is doing just fine. I mean, he's managing to keep a straight face, LOL! I enjoy his understated manner as contrasted with the over-the-top delivery of most of the others (as directed).

Daisynjay & Vivi
In view of the fact that Victoria Ruffo won last yr. & Silvia Navarro wasn't even nominated, I refuse to make a bet.

Anyone here watching QBA? How does it compare in the basura dept? I just can't believe that we are subjected to 3 Mejia novelas at the same time. I bowed out on QBA in favor of Santa Diabla.

The awards s/b called the Premios Mejia.

Variopinta, maybe Premios Mejia Basura.
I bailed on QBA too and I'm a huge Jorge Salinas fan. I was hoping this one would be better. I hear people call it Que Aburrido Amor.

I think Daniel Arenas is a pretty good actor. This is the first I've seen him and he's doing quite well with what he has to work with. In fact, everyone seems to be. I can't fault any actor's acting in this show.

You just had to see Daniel as Willy in Amorcito Corazón to know he was good.

Hysterical recap!

I think Daniel Arenas, and all of the actors, are doing a great job with the crap they have to say! Can you imagine their table read thrus! Daniel must have given up on understanding his character's actions weeks ago.

Back to the story, if Tav says one bad word against MA after all she is, and I predict will, have to give up to save his stupid arse I will go down to Mexico and shoot him myself! But how long do you think it will take the Narvaez clan to somehow blame the accident on MC?

Carvivlie- I don't think they'll blame Mari for the accident. They just won't be repentant for what they did to her in the past. But Lucia did tell Miguel that they have to be grateful to Mari for searching for Tav.

"He is all alone in the wilderness , and now the animals will eat him".....We can only hope.

Eli, Thanks for that upbeat recap of a lot of downbeat crap. As we used to say during another odd tn...The recappers are doing "recaps" of this oddity.

What is it with this husband and wife team ? Do they own the permits ??? And where oh where is Carla Estrada ? CARLA! Come backkkkk. I need a really good historical drama ...another Alborada or Amor Real. H-E-L-P

Hola amigos/amigas. Couldn't resist stopping in to comment. I stopped watching CI religiously a long time ago, but sometimes watch almost a whole episode. I do keep an eye on the recaps, but don't have time for the comments--unless I have a particularly slow day.

OK, so to explain my intrusion, Variopinta and cathyx, I've been watching QBA every night (except for a two-week vacation hiatus that changed nothing) because I'm an alternate recapper.

The musical numbers save this from being completely nonsensical. The kid actors and their storylines are a bore. We have dumb and dumber LA cops and a completely made up legal system. Jorge, Danna, Pablo and Arturo and even Palazuelos and Ferrara haven't been able to save it from being Mejia crap. I love Danna Garcia when she's dressed up in her mariachi costumes, and that's about all.

I don't have that many terrible tns to compare it to, but nothing could have been as bad as El Talisman, but Triunfo isn't too far behind (when I have CME, AB and LQNPA as good ones to compare it to).

You can bet, Salinas or not, QBA is one DVD I won't be buying as a souvenir. (I'm watching LQNPA right now to get a *real* Salinas fix.)

Now--will someone please tell me why MariAle has to prostitute herself (surely that's what Exmir has in mind), when he's the penniless one and MariAle could hire a whole navy fleet and an air force squadron to go hunt for the man she hates?????

Carlos--condolences on the loss of Ester's bebecito. Hope she pulls out of her post-partum depression before long.

Eli...feel better soon. Sometimes those bugs can really hang on. I have started taking probiotics to help my immune system. I usually get bitten by at least one bug when winter rolls in. time to get my flu shot soon.

"Like a dog with a bone".

Great descriptions of José Antonio's obsession with not building on Simona's land; and Ester has been like a dog with a bone also, refusing to budge from that hideous shack, while no doubt the afterbirth is festering inside her and she gradually trundles her way towards an ignominious death.

Yikes! Did I just write that? Well, you get my drift. People are acting in crazy ways, but not fun crazy, just crazy.

Will enjoy seeing how Maricruz holds off the Exmir, after they rescue brain-challenged Octavio. Should be good.

Glad you're feeling better Eli. Dealing with a virus is always miserable, but during the sun-filled Summer, it also just seems WRONG to be sick.

Great recap. Thanks.

Eli--you rock, girl. This is a great recap. Wish QBA had been a winner for you instead of such a drag.

I think Urban Anthropologist, Decie girl and I are the only ones commenting AT ALL on QBA.

Great recap Eli. I don't recall anything of significance happening in the last few minutes.... maybe too much vino?

I believe in a much earlier episode when Dom Ramiro's shack burned, it was decided that because it was on Narvaez land, that no one came to help put the fire out. Therefore in jackass's tortured mind, he wants his hovel in Realengo cause the good neighbors will always be there to help. Except for birthin' babies but I still say the baby lives.

I also bailed on QBA even thought I loved many members of the cast. I've been a huge fan of Victor Noriega (Michael) and of course JS as well. I tried sooooo hard to like it thinking the music and mariachi-wear would make up for a stupid story and poor writing. But hey, I've been wrong before...

I think the Premios went from ok to WTH when FC in Soy beat out Rulli in Teresa. Love Colunga, didn't deserve it. That was the beginning of the end for me.

That said, these folks maybe should win awards just for the fact they didn't walk off the set. I agree, we beat Octavio up badly, but Daniel really has pitifully almost nothing to work with. He and Cesar were the main reasons I tuned in. I had seen Daniel in a couple things and really liked his acting.

But watch, the writers will win something!

Daisynjay

Hi Eli---glad that you are feeling better and thank you for a smile a minute recap. Loved it.

No, Oblivio didn't follow the flight school manual. As it was mentioned yesterday, he was probably in class flying/throwing
paper airplanes with Ed when he should have been paying attention to the lesson the teacher was giving.

Yesterday, I commented that it had to be this way--Oblivio wandering off, later to be found and hospitalized. Then we can have Maricruz and Doris fighting over who will stay by his hospital bedside.

Don't worry, Oblivio's not in danger. Karim was a big bame hunter in Africa, he'll get the circling buzzards. LOL

A deserted island with plowed agricultural fields? QUE??

Octavio is down to one brain cell?
I thought that he was running on one for a while now.

Doris's future story. I once had a boyfriend that was eaten alive by wild animals. Right Doris, you'd be the one to tell it and no one would be able to top that.

Golawah---Maybe if Octo was married to her/Doris for a few years, he might finally appreciate Maricruz--My answer, it would only take six months.

No Vivi---He could not be burned up in his shack on the freelands.
There are too many neighbors living
close by. Mari's shack was isolated

Tonight should be the rescue and tears by Octavio's bedside. Will this bring Mari and Oblivio back together? Can't wait for tonight.
Oh! ShutUpDoris will want to stay with One Cell, things could get interesting.
the gringo

Eli welcome back. I hope the computer virus goes away and glad it did not inhibit you. This recap was hilarious. And your commentary about Tav's one brain cell was fun.

I don't think, that Arenas will be even nominated. I'm sure, that Colunga, Yañez, Rulli, Ron, Salinas, Sepeda, Levy have more chances.
But I hope, that ABC will get the award. She really deserves.
Alegria

It is true that Mari has more money than X-emir but after he was deposed, he told someone, maybe Ang-Teo that he still had millions. And I think that Ang-Teo told him the millions belonged to his people, which of course X-emir blew off.

Mari should have used her money to hire her own big game hunter (!) to go search for Tav. Thinking her only resort is laying herself at Karim's feet is just silly.

That's what I said, Vivi.

Anita- I adore Salinas but my god QBA is a bore, I'm going to recap it next week to give Elvira a week off because she's been a champ and has covered for me for several weeks now. I really, really, really wanted to like it but I just can't find anything good about it, other than the music. The last straw for me was when they had Paloma say " if its on the tv it must be true!" or maybe it was when they killed of Gloria, or maybe it was that stupid accident that they used to have Maria lose the baby, it was just all so stupid! It could have been a great telenovela is the monkeys had put in some effort.

Ooooh and I don't have a virus, my computer does, but thank you all for your kind thoughts!

Ohh..a computer virus....also bad. well, get well wishes to your computer. !!!! technology..can't live with it ; can't kill it.

Pardon---Eli, I thought it was you.
I forgot that it was your computer.
the gringo

"..she needs help finding the pilot". HEY, if we remove just one letter...the "I".... We get a very accurate message "..she needs help finding the plot."

I started watching it because I liked the 1977 version and because I'm a fan of Ana Brenda, and I'm still watching because of her. And if the acting, and only the acting, is taken into account, Ana Brenda still deserves to win an award for this role. I don't think Daniel Arenas is doing a brilliant job, but he is not horrible either, and he does have chemistry with Ana Brenda. But I have to agree that Mrs. Mejia and her monkey writers have done an atrocious job with the writing and the editing. It's still entertaining, though, compared to the other options currently on air. And, believe it or not, C.I. is still a better version than Marimar, though that is not saying much. It's also WAY better than Mrs. Mejia's other "masterpiece" Cuidado Con El Angel. That one was beyond ridiculous.

Lol, Susanlynn. Good one!!!

I wish MA would stop holding that baby when she (MA) is agitated. She's going to give her shaken-baby syndrome! That little cutie is SO CALM, she doesn't even move, yet MA keeps shaking her through the whole scene! It's very disturbing. Her real mother should just jump into the scene and snatch her away.

Anything Ester does and says at this point is fine with me. She just lost her child, her idiot husband is an unfeeling jerk and she's very likely suffering from post-partum depression. However, she's an adult, so no one can force her to "get help."

JA is giving Oblivious a run for his money in the dead brain cell department. Simona offered to give him a parcel of land to build on WITH PAPERS, meaning HE will own the land. If anyone offered me free land, I'd be on it like white on rice!

Anon- And I'm guessing that free land has access to clean (and likely indoor) water source and electricity too. Plus, he wouldn't be two feet away from the next house. There would actually be some LAND attached to the house.

If I actually saw any evidence that JA's neighbors do more than come out to gawk at a funeral, then maybe I'd believe they'd be of help in a case of a fire. But nobody but Clorinda and a little boy seemed to be around to help Ester in her time of need. Plus, there is no close water source with which to put out a fire. They would have to run down to the river.

Has anyone mentioned the surveyors we saw this episode? The way the episode was edited, it was hard to figure out if they were in Tamaulipas, or on the deserted island with Tav. If it's Tamaulipas, those free lands might soon not be so free soon. Plus the silver and gold still needs to be discovered.

Vivi, I don't think anyone has mentioned the surveyors. I can't help but think they will be the ones to find Tav. Otherwise, what is their use to the story? I wonder if that would mean Doris gets to Tav first...Guess we will find out tonite.

@Vivi and @Carvivlie - they are in Tamaulipas.

And the reason I chose to translate "Realengo" in my own recap more literally as "Royal Lands" rather than as "freelands" is that realengos are government lands, so they are not really "free".

The area the surveyors are working in looks more like the land that JA and Ester are living near rather than anything we've seen on the island that Octavio is wandering around on. I'm expecting one of them to pick up a gold nugget or chunk of silver.

I was also one who wondered why Maricruz went to Karim. Surely she has enough to fund a search. I would guess that if they took a couple of tracking dogs to the plane crash site they'd find him in a very short time. He's afoot, limping, dripping blood and even losing pieces of clothing. Piece of cake for our Tonki (DdP).

Carlos

I was assuming the surveyors were in Realengo/Tamaulipas too. But if you look at the way the editing was done, they purposely would cut to the surveyors right before or after showing Tav wandering around and fainting in fields that looked very similar. I think the Realengo folks will soon be kicked off, because those surveyors looked pretty determined. Where's JA going to go then?

Carviville -- My husband was a land surveyor and I got a real chuckle out of the technique used by the chainman (the guy with the "tape measure") I love to watch for boo-boo's on screen. Also noticed that Lupita had a sudden addition to her wardrobe with the inclusion of orange panties mid scene.

With all the wardrobe changes Marianna still carries the same green purse. Doris loan her a different hand bag.

Hmmm...When the wild animals eat hapless Oblivious will they use one of Carlos's favorite expressions???.,,,,"Tastes like chicken!!!!! "

Thank you for the funny recap Eli.

Didn't anyone else notice that Lucia suggested to Miguel that they ought to thank MA for launching her own search for Octavio? I thought that was pretty remarkable. If I didn't know better I would say the fango taught her a lesson.

Also I have to say that the horrid Mariana gave Doris really good advice. She also was right in saying that at this point Doris doesn't even love Octavio. She's justt not about to back down. She needs to prove that she will not be denied anything she wants.

Extremely funny recap, Eli--thanks very much! I have a much more positive attitude towards this show now that I just read the recaps rather than watching.

And gowah, I loved your comments. I like those two alternative future scenarios for Octavio--if only the writers would have chosen one of them, and we could have a ten-year time lapse and skip ahead to see Octavio, the bearded wild man who has himself forgotten how to use a knife or fork, or Octavio, the miserable hen-pecked husband of ShutUpDoris, dreaming fondly of the days when MariCruz would shoot him in the leg to show her love.

Paul- Yep. I mentioned Lucia's comment in one of my comments above. Sometimes Lucia talks sense. And yes, Mariana was giving Doris great advice. Too bad she wasn't listening.

Anita
"Now--will someone please tell me why MariAle has to prostitute herself (surely that's what Exmir has in mind), when he's the penniless one and MariAle could hire a whole navy fleet and an air force squadron to go hunt for the man she hates?????" I don't even remember a Mejia cliche simply called complete estupidez.

I wondered the same thing myself until Eli explained that Exmir has hunted animals in Africa. Makes sense to me, but then I have already started drinking.

Thank you all for your kind comments everyone, it made staying up till 2am worth it!

Utah, sometimes I go days without watching the actual show, I just read the recaps and comments and never seem to miss anything!

Variopinta, sometimes it takes 2 glasses of wine before this show starts to make sense. Then 3 is even better.

Doris & Estercita in LT, is there one in every Mejia novela?

The Mejias' must be married a loooong time. They both use the same cliche bag. Your turn for cliche # 27, no, your turn, oh never mind, we'll both use it. I can't be bothered with creativity.

Vivi I must have missed your comment. I thought that Lucia acting like a regular human being was the most interesting thing to happen last evening. But then I'm all about the villainesses in this one. Speaking of which, is there any hope of Carola coming back?? Now that Raiza's a good guy we only have Lucia and Doris.

Carlos - Thank You for the welcome. I confess to having been a 'lurker' for a while. TN Teresa was my intro to Caray, Caray! I really admire and commend all recappers. You guys do a phenomenal job.
What bugged me in this episode was in several scenes where Oblivio was wandering we could see a rather large grove of trees in the background. Did it not occur to him that there might be a water source keeping those trees green?

maybe after 4 glasses of vino, this show makes perfect sense and the writing is clever and stellar.

Susanlynn, I've tried it and it becomes an oscar winner.

@Variopinta - you are right, the Mejias have been married a long time. I hate to admit it, but I recently watched an interview of the Mrs. where she talked about C.I. and mentioned that she met her husband when they both worked for producer Valentin Pimstein. She also mentioned they have two sons and one daughter. The two sons are BOTH in the U.S. studying.....are you ready for this?......FILM-MAKING!!!! Well, at least they are not at the Mejia School of Film and TV, one hopes.

Oh noooooo! On the brighter side maybe they can teach mom & dad SOMETHING! But I'm sure it's way too late.

@Variopinta - I agree, it's WAY too late. Both Mejias are irredeemable. And, as you know, I was giving her the benefit of the doubt with C.I......But, alas, no more. I despise the woman now; the man I've despised a bit longer.
