He is all alone in the wilderness and now the animals will eat him! CI Wed Sept. 4th
Labels: Indomable
I was chuckling through this whole recap...boy you must have been having a hoot with this one.
He's a pilot....a pilot. There are procedures to follow. They have instruments that can be tracked for last location...they will be rescued. WTH possessed him to go wandering off only a TN writer will know the secret to that one. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry at the total stupidity of this whole scenario. And add all the other players to this as well. #SHUTUPEVERYONE.
But then again, we have the other poster child for stupidity, JA. How Simona could stand there and remain calm listening to him, bless that woman. You know that woman who slapped the NASCAR driver...I could have given her a run for her money if JA was in front of me. But wanna bet that somehow, someway these same writers will wrap Jester in a pretty bow at the end of this?
I am finding that a tall glass of Pinot Grigio (or two) is handy in getting through these plot lines.

Poor Octo. Stick around the crash and you might have a better chance of being rescued wasn't in his welcome pilot packet. Now he has to endure as did Maricruz. Will he become a "wild" man?
Doris is fun to watch. Maybe if Octo was married to her for a few years, he might finally appreciate Maricruz.
Wow - what a thing to get fixated on, but then again, she had wanted to be involved in the rescue so that "she would be the first one Octavio saw". How dare anyone else try to rescue him!
Thanks much, Eli, that was excellent!
How big is this uninhabited island? They can't find him anywhere after 4 days?
Simona, give JA a raise. He will then have enough money to pay for food and clothing at least. How low is his salary? And what does the fact that Ramiro dying in a shack have anything to do with him not living in a house or land provided by Simona? I don't get the connection.
I have been wondering about JA's burned shack logic for some time. He could be burned up just as easily in his holey shack in the swamplands, as he could be burned up in his house on Simona's lands. Whatever.
I hope that Maricruz and Exmir Karim actually go to the right island to search. Wherever Octavio is wandering about doesn't look a bit like the place that they are discussing. Jungle? Canopy of trees hiding him? Wild animals? Bugs? It looks to me like he's stumbling around in a freshly plowed field which has a few shrubs and and few prickly pear.
LoriLoo, emeraldrose, Dorothy C and dad (welcome, by the way), I've always thought that there was something fishy about that birth and Clorinda and I still also have a glimmer of hope about that baby.
Carlos
I just can't believe how stupid this basura continues to be. Mrs Mejia must keep saying, what can I do to torture the viewers?. FELS is Premios winner next to this. I must say it is so ridiculous that it is comical.
Oct of the one remaining significantly impaired brain cell is hoping someone will find him ¡Qué what! You think a search might see a huge airliner quicker than you, ¡imbécil!
¡the public will view him as a hero!
seriously?
Karim, with his experience in Africa might spot the animals before they spot the Imbécil. I think the only animals Imbécil will encounter are buzzards. What island is this, the Galapagos?
If Daniel Arenas is nominated for the Premios, everyone will ROTFLTAO!
Variopinta, it's a Meija production, albeit a Mrs. one, so I would say the odds are pretty good on that happening. Any takers??

And, actually, I think Daniel Arenas is doing just fine. I mean, he's managing to keep a straight face, LOL! I enjoy his understated manner as contrasted with the over-the-top delivery of most of the others (as directed).
In view of the fact that Victoria Ruffo won last yr. & Silvia Navarro wasn't even nominated, I refuse to make a bet.
Anyone here watching QBA? How does it compare in the basura dept? I just can't believe that we are subjected to 3 Mejia novelas at the same time. I bowed out on QBA in favor of Santa Diabla.
The awards s/b called the Premios Mejia.
I bailed on QBA too and I'm a huge Jorge Salinas fan. I was hoping this one would be better. I hear people call it Que Aburrido Amor.
I think Daniel Arenas is a pretty good actor. This is the first I've seen him and he's doing quite well with what he has to work with. In fact, everyone seems to be. I can't fault any actor's acting in this show.
I think Daniel Arenas, and all of the actors, are doing a great job with the crap they have to say! Can you imagine their table read thrus! Daniel must have given up on understanding his character's actions weeks ago.
Back to the story, if Tav says one bad word against MA after all she is, and I predict will, have to give up to save his stupid arse I will go down to Mexico and shoot him myself! But how long do you think it will take the Narvaez clan to somehow blame the accident on MC?
Eli, Thanks for that upbeat recap of a lot of downbeat crap. As we used to say during another odd tn...The recappers are doing "recaps" of this oddity.
What is it with this husband and wife team ? Do they own the permits ??? And where oh where is Carla Estrada ? CARLA! Come backkkkk. I need a really good historical drama ...another Alborada or Amor Real. H-E-L-P
OK, so to explain my intrusion, Variopinta and cathyx, I've been watching QBA every night (except for a two-week vacation hiatus that changed nothing) because I'm an alternate recapper.
The musical numbers save this from being completely nonsensical. The kid actors and their storylines are a bore. We have dumb and dumber LA cops and a completely made up legal system. Jorge, Danna, Pablo and Arturo and even Palazuelos and Ferrara haven't been able to save it from being Mejia crap. I love Danna Garcia when she's dressed up in her mariachi costumes, and that's about all.
I don't have that many terrible tns to compare it to, but nothing could have been as bad as El Talisman, but Triunfo isn't too far behind (when I have CME, AB and LQNPA as good ones to compare it to).
You can bet, Salinas or not, QBA is one DVD I won't be buying as a souvenir. (I'm watching LQNPA right now to get a *real* Salinas fix.)
Now--will someone please tell me why MariAle has to prostitute herself (surely that's what Exmir has in mind), when he's the penniless one and MariAle could hire a whole navy fleet and an air force squadron to go hunt for the man she hates?????
Carlos--condolences on the loss of Ester's bebecito. Hope she pulls out of her post-partum depression before long.
Great descriptions of José Antonio's obsession with not building on Simona's land; and Ester has been like a dog with a bone also, refusing to budge from that hideous shack, while no doubt the afterbirth is festering inside her and she gradually trundles her way towards an ignominious death.
Yikes! Did I just write that? Well, you get my drift. People are acting in crazy ways, but not fun crazy, just crazy.
Will enjoy seeing how Maricruz holds off the Exmir, after they rescue brain-challenged Octavio. Should be good.
Glad you're feeling better Eli. Dealing with a virus is always miserable, but during the sun-filled Summer, it also just seems WRONG to be sick.
Great recap. Thanks.
I think Urban Anthropologist, Decie girl and I are the only ones commenting AT ALL on QBA.
I believe in a much earlier episode when Dom Ramiro's shack burned, it was decided that because it was on Narvaez land, that no one came to help put the fire out. Therefore in jackass's tortured mind, he wants his hovel in Realengo cause the good neighbors will always be there to help. Except for birthin' babies but I still say the baby lives.
I also bailed on QBA even thought I loved many members of the cast. I've been a huge fan of Victor Noriega (Michael) and of course JS as well. I tried sooooo hard to like it thinking the music and mariachi-wear would make up for a stupid story and poor writing. But hey, I've been wrong before...
That said, these folks maybe should win awards just for the fact they didn't walk off the set. I agree, we beat Octavio up badly, but Daniel really has pitifully almost nothing to work with. He and Cesar were the main reasons I tuned in. I had seen Daniel in a couple things and really liked his acting.
But watch, the writers will win something!

No, Oblivio didn't follow the flight school manual. As it was mentioned yesterday, he was probably in class flying/throwing
paper airplanes with Ed when he should have been paying attention to the lesson the teacher was giving.
Yesterday, I commented that it had to be this way--Oblivio wandering off, later to be found and hospitalized. Then we can have Maricruz and Doris fighting over who will stay by his hospital bedside.
Don't worry, Oblivio's not in danger. Karim was a big bame hunter in Africa, he'll get the circling buzzards. LOL
A deserted island with plowed agricultural fields? QUE??
Octavio is down to one brain cell?
I thought that he was running on one for a while now.
Doris's future story. I once had a boyfriend that was eaten alive by wild animals. Right Doris, you'd be the one to tell it and no one would be able to top that.
Golawah---Maybe if Octo was married to her/Doris for a few years, he might finally appreciate Maricruz--My answer, it would only take six months.
No Vivi---He could not be burned up in his shack on the freelands.
There are too many neighbors living
close by. Mari's shack was isolated
Tonight should be the rescue and tears by Octavio's bedside. Will this bring Mari and Oblivio back together? Can't wait for tonight.
Oh! ShutUpDoris will want to stay with One Cell, things could get interesting.
the gringo
But I hope, that ABC will get the award. She really deserves.

Ooooh and I don't have a virus, my computer does, but thank you all for your kind thoughts!
Anything Ester does and says at this point is fine with me. She just lost her child, her idiot husband is an unfeeling jerk and she's very likely suffering from post-partum depression. However, she's an adult, so no one can force her to "get help."
JA is giving Oblivious a run for his money in the dead brain cell department. Simona offered to give him a parcel of land to build on WITH PAPERS, meaning HE will own the land. If anyone offered me free land, I'd be on it like white on rice!
If I actually saw any evidence that JA's neighbors do more than come out to gawk at a funeral, then maybe I'd believe they'd be of help in a case of a fire. But nobody but Clorinda and a little boy seemed to be around to help Ester in her time of need. Plus, there is no close water source with which to put out a fire. They would have to run down to the river.
And the reason I chose to translate "Realengo" in my own recap more literally as "Royal Lands" rather than as "freelands" is that realengos are government lands, so they are not really "free".
I was also one who wondered why Maricruz went to Karim. Surely she has enough to fund a search. I would guess that if they took a couple of tracking dogs to the plane crash site they'd find him in a very short time. He's afoot, limping, dripping blood and even losing pieces of clothing. Piece of cake for our Tonki (DdP).
Carlos
With all the wardrobe changes Marianna still carries the same green purse. Doris loan her a different hand bag.
Didn't anyone else notice that Lucia suggested to Miguel that they ought to thank MA for launching her own search for Octavio? I thought that was pretty remarkable. If I didn't know better I would say the fango taught her a lesson.
Also I have to say that the horrid Mariana gave Doris really good advice. She also was right in saying that at this point Doris doesn't even love Octavio. She's justt not about to back down. She needs to prove that she will not be denied anything she wants.
And gowah, I loved your comments. I like those two alternative future scenarios for Octavio--if only the writers would have chosen one of them, and we could have a ten-year time lapse and skip ahead to see Octavio, the bearded wild man who has himself forgotten how to use a knife or fork, or Octavio, the miserable hen-pecked husband of ShutUpDoris, dreaming fondly of the days when MariCruz would shoot him in the leg to show her love.
"Now--will someone please tell me why MariAle has to prostitute herself (surely that's what Exmir has in mind), when he's the penniless one and MariAle could hire a whole navy fleet and an air force squadron to go hunt for the man she hates?????" I don't even remember a Mejia cliche simply called complete estupidez.
I wondered the same thing myself until Eli explained that Exmir has hunted animals in Africa. Makes sense to me, but then I have already started drinking.
Utah, sometimes I go days without watching the actual show, I just read the recaps and comments and never seem to miss anything!
The Mejias' must be married a loooong time. They both use the same cliche bag. Your turn for cliche # 27, no, your turn, oh never mind, we'll both use it. I can't be bothered with creativity.
What bugged me in this episode was in several scenes where Oblivio was wandering we could see a rather large grove of trees in the background. Did it not occur to him that there might be a water source keeping those trees green?
Oh noooooo! On the brighter side maybe they can teach mom & dad SOMETHING! But I'm sure it's way too late.
