La Tempestad Cap #42. September 24th 2013. DamFab Gets A Much Needed DamHaircut At The Prison
Mexico City
EstherHada asks Ernie if he's sure that he wants to marry her. Ernie says of course I do. You are going to give me my primogenito (first born). Macario, who looks like Powder with a horrible looking wig, congratulates the nauseating couple. He's sure that their child will bring happiness to their lives. He tells EstherHada that he's sure that in these circumstances Ernie would give his life for EstherHada. The Patio isn't so sure about that one, Macario. Ernie wants to make a toast, but Powder err I mean Macario doesn't think its prudent that EstherHada be drinking given the circumstance. But Ernie, who is not father of the year material, says let her do it for this occasion. It is not everyday that you have a bun in the oven. They all toast to Ernie's future wife and first born. Gag!
Back in R-Laydee
The commotion continues. DamFab makes a DamSpeech. He wants everyone to be calm. Crew wants to be taken into custody with DamFab. One for all and all for one like The Three Musketeers. You gotta love these guys. They are so loyal to DamFab and care about him so much. He's DamLucky to have friends like these. Anyway, DamFab doesn't want them to resort to violence to free him because it could cause problems for them. He assures them that all will be well. DamFab is being taken away. Marina yells to the judge that DamFab is innocent and asks for DamFab to be released. Judge says that DamFab was tried according to the law and there isn't anything he can do. Fulgencio takes this opportunity to call DamFab a murderer and mentions that crap about the owner of sailboat having seen DamFab put the explosives on the sailboat. Mercedes yells at Fulgencio that all that is a lie. She will find the proof to prove it. Fulgencio asks her where the proof is. Mercedes says that unfortunately she lost the original documents but she will get them. Oso mentions how someone tried to drive them off the road to prevent Mercedes from showing the proof to the court. Fulgencio says that without that proof, if it does indeed exist, there isn't anything they can do. DamFab will have to serve his sentence. Which reminds me, they never did say what that sentence would be. 20 años maybe? It is always 20 años in novela land. DamFab and Fulgencio stare at each other. DamFab gives Fulgencio a if looks could kill stare. Jose tells Fulgencio that they'll appeal. Fulgencio shows Jose his hand as if telling him talk to the hand dude. Mercedes tells DamFab that they are all there for him. DamFab asks them to calm down. Mercedes says that they won't let them lock him up. DamFab tells them that they'll have to accept it. They can't go against the law to help him. There are other ways that they can help him. He knows that they'll find a way to free him. He is taken away. Before exiting, he stares at Marina who is in tears. He leaves. Hernan slithers his way over to Marina and tells her to be strong. Marina says that DamFab was found DamGuilty while there are a lot people like her that know that he's DamInnocent. Marina thoughtbubbles that she doesn't want to lose DamFab despite him having hurt her.
Mexico City
Doc Gonzales goes in to check on Magdis. He sees a lump on the bed and thinks all is swell. Little does he know - Nurse is in the bathroom in her undies and tied up with duct tape on her mouth. Where did Magdis get the duct tape?
Magdis walks along the streets. She's coughing. She falls right into the slimy hands of El Papacito who is sporting a hideous shirt and an earring. Did he have that before? Or did he get his ear pierced while in the slammer? It is so sad to see that Papacito being a slimeball is out on the streets while a good hearted man like DamFab is being locked up. These things do happen in real life and it is so sad.
Back in R-Laydee
Marina is in tears and can't believe that DamFab will be locked up. It hurts Bea to see her daughter like that. Marina doesn't want to overwhelm Bea. The trial has not been easy for anyone but Bea's health comes first. Rebeca thinks that they should all keep calm. Mercedes tells Marina to have faith. Justice will be done! They all agree. Mercedes phone rings and she goes to answer it.
Mexico City
Papacito calls Magdis by her name. He knows how she's called because there was a woman looking for her that said that she was her mother. Now that he's found Magdis he won't let her go. Magdis foolishly agrees to go with Papacito since she wants to hide out from Mercedes and besides she has not been feeling too well. Papacito knows exactly what she needs and he whips out a bottle of booze. He assures Magdis that this time he won't her go. Magdis prefers anything than to be found by Mercedes. Papacito gives Magdis a drink of the booze.
Back in R-Laydee
Mercedes tells Alicia that all is well with Magdis. This means that they'll be able to stay a little longer in town to try and help DamFab.
Mexico City
Papacito takes Magdis to his hovel. Magdis will be in charge of giving Papacito what he needs. Magdis doesn't care. She continues to cough. Papacito is pissed to see that Magdis is sick. He thinks about throwing her out. But Magdis says that she'll be fine. She asks for more booze which she chugs down like if it were apple juice. Papacito tells Magdis that she'll start working once she gets better.
Back in R-Laydee
Eusebia and DamFab have a tearful goodbye. She tells him that her heart can't find comfort knowing that they're taking him away in a cruel manner. He wants her to be strong so he can be strong too and come back to her side. He wants her to know that even though he'll far away his heart will be with her. She will miss him. He is not far away yet but her soul is already shattered and empty. All of her emotions will become into prayers until they see each other again. It hurts DamFab to see Eusebia like this. Eusebia has been so nice to him and he pays her with this suffering. He doesn't deserve any of her tears. She says that she does what any mother would do - take care of whom her heart chose as a son. She tells him that he's always been happiness for her. He is the motive of her existence. DamFab is DamTouched by her words.
Rebeca has a brain fart and thinks that Hernan has been a good support for Marina. Really Rebeca? Candy says that Hernan is not to be trusted. They know so little about him and the guy is loner. He has no friends and no one ever visits him.Thats because no one likes him. Ha! Candy tells Rebeca that Bagre once told her that Hernan is capable of anything.
Marina wonders who could have possibly tried to run Mercedes off the road. She's sure that someone wanted to prevent Mercedes from coming to the court with the proof. She doesn't understand why though since everyone in town loves DamFab. Think Marina, think. There are two people that hate DamFab - Fulgencio and Hernan. It has to be one of them. Hernan has slithered his way over to Marina and Mercedes. He wants to talk to Mercedes about her motive for wanting to breakup their partnership. Mercedes likes the idea of them talking. She assures him that she let herself be heard. Toribio takes them to a room where they can talk.
DamFab apologizes to Eusebia for the pain that he's causing her. He promises her that he'll never cause her to suffer anymore. When he returns he will dedicate himself to making happy. She tells him that he's not to blame for her suffering - it is destiny who has given them this test (or Fulgencio and Hernan). She has not been able to see his future. She tells him that he is and will always be the light that illuminates her life. He asks her for her blessing which she gives to him. He assures her that all will be well and that he'll be back soon.
Mercedes accuses Hernan of being the head of a criminal organization. Ruh roh! Hernan is impactado. Was this a smart move or not? Me thinks not. Hernan the sly dog acts surprised but Mercedes isn't having none of it. She knows perfectly well that he's involved in that business and tells him that he has stooped so low.
ShutUpRosy waits for Nereo to leave and runs up to the hovel, holding her long skirt, and knocks on the door.
Hernan denies knowing what Mercedes is talking about. He says that his business is clean and in order. Mercedes says that someone told her otherwise. He wants to who that person is. Mercedes refuses to reveal the name. He wants an opportunity to show her that the person is lying. She tells him that what matters here is that she wants him far away from herself, the packing plant, and especially from Marina. Ruh oh! Take that, Hernan!
JazLu opens the door only to be received with slap across the face from ShutUpRosy. ShutUpRosy calls JazLu a slut. What a bitch. ShutUpRosy needs a huge anvil.
Crew and Padre have gone to see DamFab. DamFab tells them that he'll be back soon. Bagre tells him that they'll be waiting for him. Lolo asks what will they do without him. He is their guide. DamFab says that they'll have to go on without him. They have to be the best fishermen in town and can't disappoint the packing plant. Oso tells DamFab not to worry. La Tempestad will keep on functioning as if DamFab were still there. Lagarto says that nothing will be the same without him. Only he knows the ocean so well. Lazarus is sad because of everything that is happening to DamFab. He admits that he has not been as loyal as he should be. You got that right, boy. DamFab tells Lazarus to take care of himself and to be a good boy. Oh if only DamFab knew...
ShutUpRosy won't shut up. She yells and yells. She doesn't want to hear JazLu's explanations. She wants JazLu out of her life and Lazarus' life. She leaves. JazLu cries.
Hernan asks Mercedes if by any chance it was Robles who accused him. What makes you think it was him? asks Mercedes. Well, he's the one who most recently accused me of the same thing, says Hernan. Mercedes asks why would Robles want to stain Hernan's name. Hernan says it isn't Robles. It is Fulgencio. Hernan says that Fulgencio falsely accused him in front of Robles. Hernan says that he and Fulgencio argued and that was the only way that Fulgencio could harm him. Hernan assures Mercedes that he talked to Robles and cleared things up with him. In fact you can call him and ask him, says Hernan. Mercedes assures him that she'll do that. Hernan asks her to please do. Meanwhile he will show her that his business is clean and show her documents so that she can trust him again. Mercedes leaves and Hernan the bastard sighs a sigh of relief.
Mercedes wants Robles to confront Hernan. Mercedes and Alicia find out from the other Feds that Robles is dead.
Hernan talks to Marina about how surprised he was when Mercedes accused him. He tells her that he'll show Mercedes that he's not involved with that business. Marina isn't really paying any attention to him and is tears. She has been trying to contain her suffering to not affect Bea's health but she can't keep on pretending. She has tried to be strong but there are times when she feels that she can't anymore. Hernan tells her that she can. Marina can't after all that has happened with DamFab. Why do things have to be this way? asks Marina. Hernan tells Marina that she has to accept things. There is nothing that she can do. Marina says that can't accept things. She needs to see DamFab and talk to him.
DamFab will miss the cook's cooking. Padre tells DamFab to have faith. He asks Padre to take care of his Madrina. Crew will all take care of Madrina. DamFab will leave knowing that his Madrina is in good hands. DamFab asks Padre for his blessing. Padre gives DamFab his blessing.
Hernan admires Marina. Even after all that DamFab has done to her she still loves him. Oh what he'd give to have Marina love him the same way. Never gonna happen, dude! Marina says that DamFab was a DamJerk and destroyed all her dreams. But she she can't blame him if he never loved her or if he stopped loving her. She gave DamFab all her love and now she realizes that she was just a toy for DamFab. He only played with her and then threw her away so easily. She doesn't think its fair and says that she did not deserve that. Hernan comforts her and kisses her hand and strokes her hair.
Fulgencio is all smiles because DamFab is locked up. Delfina accuses him of having been so cruel and having gone so far. Fulgencio says that he only wanted justice. Yeah right! Delfina doesn't give a crap what the owner of the sailboat said. She believes in DamFab's innocence. She says that Fulgencio would have put an innocent man in jail if it is true what Eusebia says and EstherHada is alive.
EstherHada is alive and she strokes her belly in front of the mirror and thinks about her bun in the oven. She's sure that if its a boy Ernie will want to call it Ernie. But if its girl she doesn't know what the baby will be called because she doesn't remember her name. She wonders what her name could be.
Ernie wants to continue celebrating that EstherHada will be giving birth to his spawn. The spawn will be Ernie's heir. Powder err I mean Macario thoughtbubbles that he can't imagine what Hernan's reaction will be when he finds out that he won't be Ernie's heir.
Hernan hands Mercedes the documents proving his innocence. Mercedes will have to analyze them. Hernan says that they are all hers and if she needs anything else he'll gladly send it to her. Note to Mercedes: Don't let Alicia hold those documents!
Ernie doesn't care if his spawn will be a boy or girl. His plans will remain the same. They say girls are more affectionate with their fathers. That way I'll have my two loves taking care of me, he says. Macario has never see Ernie so happy. Ernie says that he has reasons to. He thinks that nothing will separate him from his mujer. He will fill his mujer with luxuries and comforts so she won't have any problems during her pregnancy. Macario asks if he's no longer interested in finding out about EstherHada's past. Ernie says that he can't waste his time on that. They will have to be on the lookout though - if EstherHada starts to remember anything they'll have to distract her. Her past can't come back, says Ernie.
Mercedes tells Hernan that Robles is dead. Hernan acts surprised and laments Robles passing. Bastard. Mercedes will give Hernan the benefit of the doubt. Why Mercedes, why? She says that if she finds out anything bad after analyzing those documents then their partnership will end immediately. Hernan agrees with that. If she finds anything that is against the law then he'll be the first to end their partnership.
Lazarus runs over to JazLu and JazLu runs into his not so manly muscular arms. They talk about ShutUpRosy. ShutUpRosy doesn't want them to be together. JazLu thinks maybe ShutUpRosy is right and they shouldn't be together. JazLu has given Lazarus enough problems. Lazarus says that he loves JazLu. ShutUpRosy won't separate them. JazLu says that his mother won't allow them to be together. Lazarus says that at the moment ShutUpRosy can't know the truth to not risk her. But he's sure that when ShutUpRosy finds out the truth she will accept their relationship. The Patio isn't so sure about that, Lazarus. JazLu hopes so because she doesn't want to separate from him. They kiss.
Fulgencio and Mercedes talk. Mercedes tells him off for having locked up an innocent man. Fulgencio doesn't give crap if DamFab is DamInnocent or DamGuilty. He's a Fabre and he has to be far away from there. He sweared that he'd destroy the Fabres and he's doing it. What do you win harming DamFab? asks Mercedes. Getting back at all the times you snubbed me, says Fulgencio. Fulgencio says that Mercedes preferred Michel Fabre. Mercedes tells him that no one can love him because he's a man with no soul. Ruh roh! Thats because you didn't give me the chance to show you what is in my heart and that I am capable of loving, says Fulgencio. Umm no your not, Fulgencio. Mercedes tells Fulgencio that he's incapable of loving because he doesn't care about anyone but his AWFUL self. I added the awful part. Fulgencio says that he should hate her but he still loves her. He's the only woman he's ever loved and his curse is that she doesn't like him. Mercedes tells him that he'll never know love. Ruh roh! She says that he's so detestable that he doesn't deserve to mention it. Jose shows up and Mercedes and him drive off. Ursula who has been watching them conversing from afar wonders what could be going on between her dearest uncle and Mercedes. More blackmail I guess...

Doc Gonzales FINALLY discovers that Magdis has escaped. Magdis pulled the old pillows under the covers trick. It is the oldest trick in the book for pete's sake. Doc Gonzales discovers the poor nurse tied and duct taped in the bathroom. He helps her and goes off to set off the alarm. Its a little too late for that....
Back in R-Laydee
Mercedes and Jose visit DamFab. Mercedes knows that DamFab will face some tough times but she'll put all her effort so he'll return soon. DamFab knows she'll keep her word. He feels bad that the packing plant will be affected by this. Mercedes says that Fulgencio is the one to blame and she says that she won't let Fulgencio get what he wants. Jose's colleague will be in charge of the appeal. Jose will take care of the packing plant and Marina. DamFab says please do. Mercedes phone rings. She finds out about Magdis' escape. Mercedes tells DamFab that she has to leave but he will receive news from her soon. She promises him that she won't abandon him. Mercedes and Jose leave.
Candy is sure DamFab will come back soon. Rebeca is sure that things will get resolved once DamFab comes back. Marina will know that DamFab broke up with her to protect her. Candy hopes that it won't be too late and that Marina will be able to forgive DamFab. The Patio hopes the same thing. Rebeca is sure that Marina will forgive DamFab. Marina loves DamFab so much that they can't even imagine.
Marina visits DamFab in jail. DamFab thinks that his destiny is to be far away from R-Laydee and from her. Marina doesn't know why it should affect him to be far away from her. DamFab calls Marina by her name without the Señorita. Marina asks him what he is playing at. He's calling her by her name again. She asks him if he wants to hurt her more. He says no that is not my intention. She yells and whats to know what he wants. Wasn't it enough that he was the first man in her life. What more does he want? DamFab is about to say something. Marina wants him to spit it out. She wants to know how he really feels about her. He says that he feels nothing. She yells why, why did you first make me touch the sky with your promises and then destroy all my dreams? She yells that is clear that he only played with her. She yells that she has to accept it. She yells that she became a woman in his manly muscular arms. But that wasn't important to him. She wishes him good luck and says goodbye forever. She leaves. DamFab cries. Marina cries.
Candy and Rebeca talk about their show. They run into Ursula. Introductions are made. Ursula finds out about the show and wants to be a part of it. The three of them will put on the show together. Little do they know that Ursula has other intentions - Ursula thoughtbubbles that she could care less about their little show. All she cares about is getting to know the people that are close to DamFab and Hernan to find out what she can use to her advantage.
Nighttime in R-Laydee. Townspeople all hold white candles and stand outside the police station. All of our town characters are there except for Fulgencio. Doors open. DamFab is handcuffed and is led out of the police station. DamFab gives yet another DamSpeech. He thanks everyone for having come. Candy says that he has nothing to thank them about. She says that he knows how important he is to them. He says just like you all are important to me. He says that in this town his friends and brothers are staying. He says that there are no words to explain what it has been like to have grown up in this town. Some townspeople take the opportunity to talk about the good deeds that DamFab has done. DamFab is modest and doesn't want more to said. He tells everyone that they are like members of his family. Thanks to their affection he is who he is. He assures them that La Tempestad and his crew will continue to help them. Eusebia tells DamFab that he is the DamSoul of the town. Eusebia says that everyone's shattered hearts will await his return. DamFab thanks Eusebia. Eusebia cries. Marina cries too. DamFab cries too and stares at Marina. Fulgencio comes out of the police station and wants to know what the hell is going on. He wants DamFab to be taken away already. DamFab is put inside the truck and the truck drives off. Marina runs after the truck and cries and yells that she loves DamFab. Marina is held back.
Mexico City
Mercedes is devastated that Magdis escaped. She has lost her daughter again but this time it was because Magdis wanted to be far away from her. Cops have been told to look for Magdis. Mercedes will look for Magdis too. She has to find her again. She asks who saw her leave. Doc Gonzales says that the security guard saw her leaving. Mercedes wants to talk with the security guard and the nurse.
Papacito is asleep on the sofa. His shirt is open and reveals his abs - what a shocker! Magdis is drunk and says that Mercedes won't trap her again.
Mercedes is devastated that she lost Magdis again. She doesn't know how she'll look for Magdis again. She feels that she is out of tears. This line would have been more believable if it had come from Victoria Ruffo. Mercedes will continue looking for Magdis even if she doesn't accept her because she has to make her understand that she is her mother and loves her. Mercedes says that she has to save Magdis even if Magdis doesn't accept her. Alicia says that Magdis can't be far from there. Mercedes hopes that Alicia is right.
Back at R-Laydee
Fulgencio remembers his chat with Mercedes. Nereo comes in and informs him that Robles is dead. Fulgencio is pleased to hear this and offers Nereo a cigar. Wait until he finds out who killed Robles.....
But Robles is alive and kicking. He says that now that two of the heads of the organization think he croaked they will be able to advance the investigation even more. Robles says they have to find JazLu's sis - Belen. They will need Nereo's cellphone. The Feds can't get near Nereo but Lazarus and JazLu can.
Nereo tells Fulgencio that the other Feds didn't really do anything about Robles death. Idiots. They should suspect something is fishy but these two are idiots. Fulgencio thinks that things are working out for them. Oh if only he knew....
Marina and Hernan walk along the streets and Marina cries. She can't believe that DamFab went to prison after the whole town showed how good he is. Hernan comforts her. The town beyotch and her beyotch BFF badmouth Marina. The beyotch wants to attack Marina but Hernan defends her. The beyotch says that Marina deserves the worst of punishments for what she did to DamFab. Hernan says that Marina is not to blame. If they gave each other the chance to know Marina they'd know that she's a good woman. Her only sin was loving DamFab. Hernan says that DamFab played with Marina's feelings and because of him Marina is suffering.
DamFab is taken into the prison. He's given his uniform - a white tank top and some jeans. What no jumpsuit? The people must not be paying their taxes. DamFab is given a DamColdShower and we get to see him DamShirtless. DamFab is given a DamHaircut. What no DamStripSearch? Meanies. DamFab is now sporting DamShortHair and wearing the tank top and jeans and he gets his mugshot taken.
We find out that DamFab is 31 years old. WL at the time was 32 so there is not much of an age difference between his real age and his character age.
AVANCES: A new DamFab is here. DamFab thinks about Marina and how much he loves her. Danger awaits DamFab. Rene Casados tells DamFab to be careful. Someone approaches DamFab.

I have to go on a SHUTUPROSYRANT! The nerve of that woman! She never stops to think before she inserts her foot in her mouth. She should have considered JazLu's age and she didn't even ask her why such a young girl was mixed up with Nereo, que, que, what???? Now I really want SHUTUPROSY's past to bite her in the butt. She needs a great take down of her imagined self righteousness, sorry for the rant!
I can't believe Herny buffaloed Mercy. I hope she finds something and kicks him to the curb. He doesn't need to be in Neptune.
When is Marina gonna start swatting Herny? He needs to stop the hair touching, kissing the cheek and hands. He is in her personal space over much.
I smell an anvil for Ernie. I wonder who's side Macario is really on? Is he a secret henchie of Herny's?
Dam Delicious still looks delicious short hair and all. I didn't like the fire hose shower, but he looks so much better. I didn't see Rene Casados, but looking forward to him. He is such a versatile actor. I hope he is a good guy here.
I also liked how the townspeople came out and supported DamTormented while he was being hauled off to the hoosegow. Hated when Fully came out and tried to hustle everyone off.

I think Maury is in love with Hada. Did anyone else notice how he was escorting he into the spa last week? He was more than arm and arm with her. She was pulled into his body and his right hand was under her boob. Also when she snapped at the hair dresser, he kind of smiled. Macario is in love with Hada. Who's with me? Cynderella.

The hosing and treatment of Dam was very hard to watch. Seeing him as DamNotSoFabulous was sobering.

Madelaine, you have me wondering if Macario may have other loyalties. It's hard to tell what is really going on underneath that hideous wig.
Cynderella,I hadn't noticed Macario's attitude toward Hada, but I will from this point on. He strikes me as rather androgynous.
Sorry that Mercedes backed down from severing business ties with Hernan. Robles told her to watch out - why wouldn't she listen? Sigh.

Finally caught up with all the episodes and Caray comments from being away for a week. This tn is all over the place, but for once, (and I think I said this earlier), I'm interested in ALL the sidestories.

Okay, I'm only sort of following this show, so maybe I've missed things, but the evidence thing makes no damsense. Firstly, I don't understand how an inspection of the wreckage proves DamFramed didn't blow it up. But never mind. Assuming it does, presumably the people who did the investigation and wrote the report have a copy of it. Why can't they send it over to the judge or Jose? Or, why couldn't Jose call in those investigators as expert witnesses? I think he's spent too long working as a lackey and his lawyerin' skills have gotten rusty.
And I will never understand galans who think they are doing their beloved a favor by pretending not to care about her.

I do not understand why Marina puts up with Hernán's constant groping either, but something that really disturbed me last night was him jumping in to defend her with those harpies by telling them what a sweet pure thing she is and that she allowed the evil Damián to take advantage of her innocence. Thanks Hernán that surely helped her feel better.

People like her, when they see someone weak, young, unexperienced, and easily made ashamed, they escalate in stomping the person, feeding like sharks on their fears and instilled guilt. Mauricio, sorry for the late comment. I am busy with houseguests and just now had a chance to whiz through the episode but not your fabulous recap. You really have a way with words and I savored every one of them. I just love ShutUpRosy and all the DamSpeeches and other DamFunnyThings and DamObservations you couldn't resist slipping into your review of Tuesday's episode. Cynderella, I think Diana said it very nicely: "He strikes me as rather androgynous." That's pretty much my opinion of Macario. The actor (whom I quite like) is doing a great job of portraying a rather sexless and emotionless malevolent elf. Hard to tell what team he's batting for and I mean that in every possible way.
Vita, glad to hear you are having a good time in Israel. Some of the best food I have ever eaten in my life was in Israel. I will never forget it. Meze anyone?
