PEAM #139-9/20/13: Havin' My Baby, What A Lovely Way of Sayin' How Much You Love Me; We'll Just Go On Burning Bright, Somewhere In The Night
Hola PEAM Peeps! Sorry in advance for the earworms ; ) Skipping the old too, and starting the recap at three weeks later.
Three Weeks Later:
Royer has that wedding invite in his hand, he borrowed it from Ferny, and Moronica hates it, it's so cheap! Royer needs to go out and get some air. Moronica wants to know where, he doesn't have to tell her squat, and goes. She is left with Sanson, poor puppy!
Elias and Pato are saying goodnight, he has that campaign due on Monday and he asks Pato about her therapy. It's going good, but so many temptations! It's okay, one day at a time! Smoochies! Rogue sees and hears all!
Discua is in her office and looking at her bank account. There is way more money in there than there should be! She is checking her statements when Delia comes in with an arrest warrant for Discua. The cops cuff Discua and Discua says it must be some kind of mistake!
Val and Chucho are at the mall, looking for a dress for Val, she will be the page boy at the wedding, the one that gets to hold the train of Alma's wedding dress. They run into Marcia and Val freaks out. Chucho introduces Val to Marcia and tells her she is Marta's twin sister. Val shakes her hand. Marcia talks about this and that with Val and then goes. Onward for that dress!
Alma is showing Chatita the wedding invitation, when Chatita remarks about Alma's new "luke" like her glow! Alma says she's preggers and Chatita wants to find out for sure if she will be an Abuelita, so call the Doc and lets' go. Alma tells Chatita her Doc is on a trip and besides it's Sunday. Chatita will go with her to a clinic to find out and tells Alma, Let's Go in English, Ha!
Delia tells Discua what she is being charged with, illicit transfer of lots of moola! Discua proclaims her innocence. Discua winks furiously and Delia tells the cops to take Discua away. They all leave Discua's office.
Meanwhile, outside Pato's door, Royer is listening as Pato proclaims that Elias' kisses are better all the time, and Elias tells her he thinks he is falling in love with her! She is so surprised, noone has ever said that before, and Elias tells her there is a first time for everything. Smoochies and she'll see him manana!
Food Porn Alert********
Dona Sus, Maricela, Alejandra and Xochi are eating this gorgeous food, I have dibs on the guacamole! They are talking about Ferny and how Xochi has to change her strategy of not talking to Ferny! Xochi beleives she lost Ferny when Discua Paz de la Fraudidad walked into their wedding!
Chatita and Alma are waiting in the Doc's office for the results of Alma's pregnancy test. Doc comes in and it's postive! Everything is fine, no worries. Don't know the sex yet, but she's in fine fettle. Chatita and Alma are over the moon. Alma thinks she got preggers the night Chucho surprised her, y'all remember that right? Right?
Chucho is dropping Val off at that grumpy man and mad woman's house, you know, Rogue and Moronica's and Val tells him they fight all the time. Chucho did ask after Moronica! Chucho gives Moronica the backpack and asks her what is wrong. Seems Moronica feels that Val loves her two Daddies more, Roger went to look for Pato, Moronica is talking to a dog, Sanson that is, and Chucho is getting married in a week, what could be wrong?
Back to Elias and Royer who are having words in the hallway of Pato and Alma's place. Elias wants Rogue to stay away from Pato y punto! Rogue tries to tell Elias he and Pato were together for a long time, and that Roger treated her like crap. Elias says she is sincere, and transparent and doesn't live off him like she did Roger. She makes her own money, yeah, paid by Roger he says. There is shoving, pushing, grabbing of ties, and Roger wants Pato to choose. He also threatens Elias' job! Elias tells Roger to GET OUT! Pato comes out and wants Roger to go. Tells Roger that Eli is the real deal, not like Roger with all his "gifts", he respects Pato, and is nothing like Roger! Roger tells Pato, fine, wait until he finds out who you really are, he'll dump you and if you think I'm waiting for you, good luck sister! He goes and Pato thanks Eli.
Augusta calls Chucho. There is a problem with the Union Contract, and they have to go to the Labor Ministry, and they gotta go to the D.F. now! Today! It's Sunday but what the heck! Chucho will pack and meet Augusta at the airport. They leave in an hour.
Chatita and Alma are with Pato, making her guess what Alma's news is and are giving her clues, i.e. gift of life, something unexpected, finally Chatita gives Pato a big clue about a little person that arrives in eight months give or take. Pato finally gets it, jumps on the bed and does a happy dance. Chucho tries to call during this, but Alma has the phone on silent downstairs! Chatita and Pato think that Alma ought to call Chucho. Not telling him until he gets home, face to face, not on the phone. Pato continues the happy dance!
At la carcel, Delia asks Discua if there is anyone she can call? Seems there is one person, but it's Sunday and he's not working and she can't call him. The Doctor, they are in the medical wing of la carcel, wants Discua to lie down for an exam. Discua says her religion doesn't allow Docs. They are made well when sick, with meditation, prayers and the light. Doc and Delia tell her it's prison regulations and she must comply. Delia is a little concerned for her. After the cursory exam, the Doc has Discua wait outside. Doc tells Delia there seems to be somthing wrong with Discua's heart and they need to do an ultrasound and CT scan, Ruh Roh. Delia goes out in the hallway.
Ferny is knocking on Alejandra's door begging Xochi to come on home. He loves and misses her, he can't live without her. Xochi cries on the other side of the door, and finally she opens it and goes out, and there is a big hug and smoochies! She loves him too.
Cantu goes to Rogers' and tells him the "good news' about Discua being arrested, happy, happy, joy, joy!
Chucho has finally gotten ahold of Alma. She wants to tell him something important is he coming home now? Now, has to go to the D.F. for a contract revision with Don Romero. Seems this meeting in the D.F. has to do with the labor contract and the Ministry of Labor, some changes to the contract and Augusta pipes up loudly it's time to go. Alma hears her and is a mite suspicious. Why on a Sunday and why with Augusta? She understands that Chucho is essential but doesn't trust Augusta! Could this be a ploy? Nah, just a contract revision, no worries. Can she tell him over the phone. Nopis. He'll be back manana. Finally besitos over the phone and he goes.
After getting off the phone, Chatita and Pato talk about the disgusting Augusta for a tic and then will help Alma prepare something special for when she tells Chucho about the bebe.
Back to Roger and Cantu. Roger is so very happy that Bisquet is in la carcel. Roger says his life is a disaster. Domi comes in singing and winks at Cantu. She gives him a drink, making googly eyes at him. Funniest part of the epi, Roger pulls Domi aside and tells her that Cantu is the most corrupt person he has eva known!!!! Who knew! Domi doesn't care and goes. About the disaster in Roger's life, that would be Moronica. Well, there is a way out. Moronica knows all of Roger's bidness right? Let's blame Moronica next, as in the next patsy! Roger kind of likes it and then remembers he could go down as well. He hits Cantu upside the head and tells him to think! Yeah, right, sure, sure!
Ferny and Xochi are back home and she pulls out that earring of Discua's and asks him about it and he asks how she came by it. Ya, know Alejandra. Ferny swears nothing juareva happened with Discua it was only a kiss, nothing more. Then Xochi cries and Ferny sings their song to her, she joins in the song, hugs, kisses, instant reconcilation y punto!
Delia goes back into the hallway and tells Discua she has to go to the hospital tomorrow for more testing. Discua is concerned and she swears again she is innocent. Delia asks her where the money came from, her lifestyle in other words. Discua explains about the machine she invented, made lots of moola. Says she just saw that money in her account today. Delia asks her how a million dollars of illicit transactions got in her account then, cause Delia has been investigating. Discua thinks back and then tells Delia about Rogue threatening her and she is sure Rogue did this to her, he must of planned the whole thing. Discua also asks Delia not to tell her congregation. Delia is thinking. Oh, and Delia will be going with her to the hospital.
Roger is on the phone asking about an article, he is calling that same nefarious reporter that did the last article on Bisquet. Roger tells him make sure it has illicit transfer of funds and that Bisquet is in la carcel. Sure thing!
Chucho and Augusta are in the D.F. meeting with Don Romero, about the changes to the labor contract that involves, transparency of elected union officals, working conditions and benefits. They work on this well, well, Chucho and Romero that is, while Augusta rolls her eyes. She is thinking this costs the company alot of money, but Chucho reminds her she has all these degrees and knows nothing about labor relations in Mexico. Everything is worked out and Romero and Chucho have a hug and this new contract will go up to the Ministry of Labor manana.
Later, Alma is looking at a bebe development book, and Chucho calls her. Everything went fine, he'll be home manana, Alma isn't liking the fact that Chucho is alone with Augusta there, but no worries he has his angels, that would be a pic of Val and Alma. She's happy, but tells him Augusta told her she likes Chucho. Chucho says no worries he wants to know what she wanted to tell him, nothing that can't wait till he gets home, besos, get some rest, click! After Alma hangs up she says she doesn't trust Augusta!
Alma was right cause here comes hoochie mama Augusta with some wine glasses, and a bottle of wine and her hoochie self wanting to celebrate "their hard work". Chucho tells her to GET OUT OF HIS ROOM! No hanky panky, respect that he loves Alma. And this was just a ploy to make him go along, this trip, she really didn't' need him to be doing this stuff, she could have done all this on her own, hell, she even has a Master's Degree. Augusta just wants them to enjoy themselves. Well, nothing doing. That dog don't hunt. He throws Augusta out, packs his bags and tells her she can handle this on her own manana, he is leaving for Monterrey right now. She doesn't want to be left with that uncouth Don Romero. Too bad, so sad. She now threatens to tell her Daddy on him and she'll get him fired. He can't wait, good luck with that. She bangs on the door. He tells her he doesn't like her being close to him and would rather sleep at the airport!
Alma and Pato are walking down the stairs and Alma says Chucho called and told her he'd be home earlier than expected. Pato would love to stay and see the look on Chucho's face, but ya know she's got a job now and has to work.
Some PDA with Cardy and his Jessie, they smoochie, as Dona Sus and Mari look on. Back to work!
Xochi and Pato get off the elevator and Xochi tells Pato that she and Ferny have reconciled, Pato squees and is so happy for them.
Roger gets off the next elevator and has a newspaper under his arm. Romegio tells him to have a great day, and of course Roger says juareva and goes to his office and opens the paper and in big headlines it has a picture of Bisquet saying she is in jail for illicit fund transfers, happy, happy,joy, joy for him!
Pato answers the phone and it's Discua. Delia is with Discua. Discua wants to talk to Ferny, Pato tells Xochi it's Discua, Discua tells Pato she is in jail, set up by Roger and to tell Ferny what happened to her. Pato says she will and hangs up. Xochi and Pato talk about why Roger would set up Discua and then Xochi remembers the last article about Discua being a fraud. Xochi is worried Ferny is gonna find out, even if she doesnt' tell him, in other words one way or another.
Chucho has finally come to Alma's and there are tiny bebe footprints all over the floor, and Alma watches as Chucho comes in. There is a pair of bebe tennies on a table and Chucho picks them up as Alma comes down the stairs. He looks like he is getting a clue and Alma reaches the bottom of the stairs and tells him they are gonna be parents. No puede ser! Happy, happy, joy, joy, besitos and tears. End of Epi.

There were many things I liked this episode. Pati telling Rogue off. Chucho kicking Augusta out and leaving. Xochi and Fernie making up. And the happy reactions to the baby news.
I also think that now that Delia knows there might be a Rogue connection, she'll manage to free Discua and catch Rogue.
I might be wrong, but I think at the end Xochi said she intends to tell Fernie what's happened to Discua.

Thanks Mads! hit and miss for me on Friday, but I did get to see the Xochi/Ferny reconciliation, which made me happy. Her possibly keeping secrets from him though..please don't!.

I'm so glad that the doctor gave Chucho Skelegrow while he was in the hospital, so he was able to get Disgusta out of his room. What a shameless hoochie.

I've never seen anyone in a telenovela be subjected to a medical exam before being shoved in jail before. I'm hoping that being arrested turns out to be a blessing in disguise for Discua, since as a Being of Light she wouldn't have known about her heart problem otherwise. Will she consent to be treated? Maybe she will, and she'll turn out just fine thanks to the arrest. Maybe facing mortality will inspire her to rethink a few things, and stop chasing after Fern.
Maybe medical care isn't really against the Light Brigade's beliefs, and she just doesn't want anyone proving how much silicone she's filled with.

I love how Discua says she "invented" that exercise machine, which appears to be exactly like numerous exercise machines already on the market.

I have an exercise machine quite a bit like Discua's. It makes an excellent clothes drying rack! As far as getting a huge keister , I find that mac and cheese works just as well!

Thanks, Madelaine! I missed the first half (Comcast problem is finally solved now, mostly) but the second half was interesting enough! Kinda funny that it took Chucho so long to figure out the tiny footprints, etc. but it was still faster than he's ever figured anything else before!
I wonder how Yuri's doing in prison. His previous trip to jail didn't exactly mellow him out. I don't suppose he's cooled off much since then.
