Qué Bonito Amor #108 (Mex 146) Thursday 9/12/13 Que Largo Camino

Paloma isn't in the mood to go to PE.  She gets Roddy reminiscing about his mom and he rightly points out that her mom at least has a chance to recover, while his mom is dead.  Paloma responds to his "put your big girl pants" pep talk on.  A classmate nags them to get to PE.  Since the budget can no longer accommodate the actress who plays the teacher.

Susanito goes looking for Irasema, who's packing at her old apartment.  He apologizes for being an idiot, but he doesn't realize yet he's apologizing for the wrong thing.

Amalia is a pessimist.  I know, I know, what a shock.  Justo tells her there's always a tomorrow.  Good thought, Justo.  Give her the hope of living for another day to complain about something different.  Amalia says she misses Pedro.  Just also misses Altagracia.  He didn't expect for her to be gone from his life before the kids were.  Justo says he and Amalia can share their solitude.

Santos caresses the wall and tells Don Nando and Michael that he'll get out, damnit!

Maria uses Colosso's cell to call Justo.

Who's busy asking Amalia why she never remarried.  "You're still a hot babe.  Trust me.  I'm a guy.  We know these things."  Justo answers his phone and leaves the room without letting Amalia know who called.

Susanito is desperate to find Irasema.  Mancia tells him when a woman doesn't want to be found, she'll hide under the rocks if need be.

Irasema goes looking for a job and walks right past a sign that says "Help Wanted."

Justo says he'll send Salvador (he lives!) to help Maria cross.  Justo avoids telling Maria why he's in Mexico.  He asks her to convince Santos to let him keep investigating and tells her that he stopped investigating because Santos asked him to, because they're all under a death threat.

PE class apparently consists of running laps around an empty classroom.  The usual stupid antics ensue.

Irasema considers hooking again, but she's determined not to.

The evil cousins succeed in making Roddy look like an overreacting fool in Paloma's eyes.

Maria insists that Justo has to keep investigating.

Santos is going a little nuts.  He thinks he can feel his drawing of Maria smiling.  The guys tell him that's not nuts, that's just luuuuuurve.

Maria needs to get herself a t-shirt with a picture of the Virgen, so Salvador (who will be wearing a t-shirt with a picture of Jesus on it) will recognize her.  Maria is rushing to get the bus and Colosso lets slip something about her Mom.

Amalia's doctor wants to run a lot of tests, but they don't have the equipment at the clinic.  He needs to check out Amalia's entire spine via MRI and he knows Amalia can't possibly pay for it.  Wendy walks in and says, no problem, Daddy will pay for it.  Unfortunately, Justo tells them that he's lost everything.

Colosso covers that if Amalia knew that Maria crossed the desert, she'll freak.   Rigo preaches optimism because luuuuuurve conquers all.  Colosso tells Maria to beat it before he starts crying.

Wendy freaks out.  Justo says he had to pay OG $10M to keep OG from killing them all.  Justo doesn't know why OG hates them all, but he doesn't think there's really a reason.  The doctor is sorry, but without the tests, there's nothing he can do.

Buffalo refuses to forgive Jen and doesn't care for Fernando's teasing.

Colosso has finally given up and accepted that Maria will be like a sister to him.  Rigo tells him to get another girl already, since he's wasted enough time on one who isn't paying any attention to him.  Colosso thinks he'll make a play for Angelica.

Angelica is bored at work, fantasizing about Colosso.

The Jailbreak Four have been returned to their regular cells and "pardoned" by the warden.  Santos is drawing Maria again.  Michael figures once they get out, the first thing Santos will do is go find Maria and marry her.  Santos tells him they're already married.  They said vows in front of the Virgen.  So…recognized religious officials, state officials, ship's captains a mile from land, and the Virgen are all authorized to officiate at weddings, got it.

Maria and Jesus…I mean, Salvador, find each other.

Wendy votes to take Altagracia's jewelry and sell it to get the money for Amalia's testing.

A cop car rolls up to where Maria, Salvador, and the other pilgrims are all hanging out and everyone scatters.  Don't even get me started on the mismatch of cars, uniforms, etc.

Ana and Jen go looking for Fernando, but he's not home.  So nice of them to walk right in, though.  Ana says it's strange the door was open.  They start to go look for him at the bar, but Ana notices the paper, pen, and envelopes by his bed.  She reads a sheet that falls out of her hands and realizes Fernando is the one who's been writing to her.  Ding!  Ding!  Ding!

Maria's not feeling great, but she's determined to get to Santos.  Jorge Alfredo.  J Al.  Whatever he's calling himself now.  Maria complains about her feet and I remember she's wearing boots with a heel.  I can't back that play.

Jen and Ana walk into the bar and Buffalo is conveniently on stage tuning up.  Jen starts working on getting him back, but he says she's lost him for good.

Maria and Salvador keep walking.  Or dragging, I should say.  Maria collapses and starts mumbling about seeing a light and wanting to kiss Santos.  She remembers kissing him in the rain.  She passes out.  Or something.

Amalia starts freaking out in the hospital, saying Maria is in danger.  She starts playing to St. Jude to help her.

Salvador holds the sombrero over Maria's head.

Santos starts to feel sick.  Oh, maybe she's preggers again?  He says he's feeling really thirsty and hot…and he's sure Maria is in danger!  Michael thinks his time in Mexico drove Santos nuts.  Santos starts begging Maria to live.

Maria comes to after her faint and Salvador tells her if not for the hat, the sun would have burned her face off.  Maria gets up, ready to continue the trip.  She sticks the hat back in the bag.  Dude…wear the frickin' hat.  What the hell do you think hats are for?!

Michael and Santos in the cell…blah, blah, blah, power of love, something, something.

Curtis is in Derecho's office, spraying a rose.  He bitches about her insisting on putting a fresh flower in there every day.  F U, dude.  And you, Curtis, couldn't you pick a man who doesn't bitch at you constantly?  Derecho has his retirement papers, but he doesn't want to go through with it until he's sure that Santos is guilty, and so far, he's not sure of that.  He wants to go talk to Santos and clear some things up.

In TJ, Don Rigo takes Colosso to a bar where they are treated to "Wanda Mey" singing "Quitame Ese Hombre".  Colosso is enthralled.  I preferred the ballad version, which is thankfully available as a karaoke track, so I can sing it to myself if nothing else.

Ruben and Elvira are in bed when they're rudely interrupted by a call on Ruben's cell phone.  He acts like he's got to answer in case it's business…what the hell business can he possibly have left?  He tells "Sergio" to negotiate the price and let him know about it.  Don Braulio, the owner of Maria's apartments, is desperate to sell.  Ruben wants to buy it and throw everyone out.

Wanda finishes her song and lifts Colosso's chin, though she doesn't wipe the drool off.

Braulio comes over to Ruben and Elvira's love nest to negotiate with Ruben in person.  The agree on a price and agree to keep the transaction secret.  Elvira drinks in the revenge vibes and sucks face with Ruben some more.

Wanda practically has to beg Colosso to buy her a drink, pointing out that singing makes one awfully thirsty, especially when one is so hot to begin with.  As a hot singer, I can tell you she speaks the truth.  Colosso's a little off his game, but he finally gets the hint.

OG gets into Wendy's apartment.  She tries to scream for help, but he covers her mouth.  OG threatens to hurt the baby, but that was a bad tactical move.  Wendy bites his hand and gets free.  OG says it's them against him and as far as he's concerned, he always comes first, second, and third.

Salvador and Maria keep walking.

OG says they ought to do a favor to humanity and make sure that idiot Bruno's child isn't inflicted on the world.

Santos is in his cell.

Maria and Salvador are walking.

Santos is in his cell.

Maria and Salvador are walking.

Santos is in his cell.

OG says that's enough talk, it's time to reunite Wendy and baby with Bruno.

Santos is in his cell.

OG brought along a pill and he says it's going to take a while.  We hear him screaming at her to swallow it as we see Santos pacing in his cell.

Tomorrow:  Maria makes it to the prison, but Santos refuses to see her.  Dumbass.

Much like Maria, I'm asking..."Are we there yet? Are we there yet?"

Gracias, Kat.

This is one episode which made me wish I had CC's. Between the background music and Wendy's screams I couldn't understand Giuliano's nasty crap. As to his threats against Wendy and her baby, that would get him thrown out of the Italian Mafia to sleep with the fishes. Which is what he deserves so I hope that El Padrino has another blood relative left to take care of that piece of dirty business.

Maria will have a major problem now that Justo has lost his dinero.

Amalia seems to have forgotten that the income from the bar should be paying her hospital bills.

Susanito needs to reconcile with Irasema and keep an eye on the bar, not that he is really ready. He does, however, know that Elvira is no good.

Yes, another episode has gone by in our long, long journey to, well nowhere.

"Ive been through the desert on a horse with no name
It felt good to be out of the rain
In the desert you can remember your name
Cause there aint no one for to give you no pain

La la la la la
La la la la la
La la la la la
La la la la la"

I think, that the recapers should be paid for this work. A mean recaping QBA. Because it's a "tortura". I hope, that my thanks can compensate a little.
Since the budget can no longer accommodate the actress who plays the teacher.
She is not an actress, she is a wife of Juan Osorio (produser of PEAM).

Thank you so much, 5Ft for you super work!

I don't know. This show is something else. What kind of gran final is there going to be when everything seems so predictable?!

Diva, thank you, not sure for what, though. Your efforts are truly above and beyond the call of duty, but here we are with this dreck. But you gave us a few laughs along the way (out there in that desierto with trees and grass--where are the cacti, anyway).

We KNOW Santos is in jail, talking about his Maria, THEY don't have to keep hitting us over the head with it. He won't read her letters and according to tonight's avances, won't see her. Dumbass indeed.

We KNOW Maria and Salvador will make it. I didn't for one second believe that she'd expire mid-way. But, where was the water? Salvador didn't bring anything at all with him. Maybe it wasn't in the budget. It didn't look too much like a Desierto to me, it looked more like a well-bulldozed track. And yes, she still had her stack-heel boots on. And yes, she should have put on the hat. Dumbass indeed.

We KNOW Amalia knows she is part owner of the bar. Maybe there isn't enough income to be divided three ways, but she could SELL her portion to....Ruben!

We KNOW Ruben hasn't given up on the idea of ruining the family and getting Maria for himself or not letting any one else get her.

We KNOW OJ is the most inept Padrino to come along in awhile. Where are his capos for this little caper. Dumbass indeed.

Fatima--I'm only pointing out the obvious and YES, it's all so predictable.

I guess we'll have a gran final with:
1. A happy boda for JA & Maria

2. Wendy and her baby survive and she marries Michael

3. Justo gets his money back and Amalia walks again (but heaven save us from a Justo-Amalia boda)

4. Coloso starts an affair with Angelica and ends in a boda and they produce their own mini-Coloso mariachi band

5. Sus & Ira reconcile and get pregnant

6. Fernando is reunited with his Dad and Ana accepts them both as is

7. Isa, well, we may or may not find out who left her on Amalia's doorstep, but she'll finally conquer mathematics and becomes the CPA for the bar.

8. Roddy and Jalisquito start a singing duo and are a sensation with the 15 and under set (they make it BIG in the U.S.)

9. Poor Paloma, don't see a future for her other than making candy from her mother's recipe and starting her own enterprise.

10. Rigoberto dies peacfullly in his sleep at home with his mujercita (because Raul Padilla really did pass away on May 24)

11. Would really like to see Darren, our Blue-eyed prisoner get out.

12. Do we want to remember Lorena, Roxana, Prudencia, Remedios, Pamela, Daniela, El Soñador, El Baritono, and Jairo?

UA-Love the idea of Padrino having another relative who is going to take over the family business. I never thought OJ was all that close to the Padrino and he was always botching his jobs. Your other consejos are spot on.

Anita, you called it, Amiga! Right on!!!

Maria is a colossal dumb ass, no water and heels to walk over the border. She is almighty lucky she is doing it on the Cali side because she would have been dead in two hours on the AZ side. And for the love of God to put the hat back in the plastic bag. SMH

Michael is right. Going to Mexico did drive Santos mad. I cannot endure one more moment of his whining about his bonita. And so after Maria risks her life to get to the prison he isn't going to see her — dumbass.

Thank you God. When I saw the flower and Curtis all I could think of is please don't let us seem them doing it on the desk. What a twit she is, She has the guy so why keep acting the fool. And speaking of fools why on earth does he keep thinking Santos is guilty. Jeeze Louise

I guess the apocalypse has come and gone and I missed it since Wendy, Wendy of all people says that Justo will pay for Amelia's treatment. This from the whiner who didn't want to live among the poor and now is one of them. Somehow I do think Justo will get his money back.

The question of the day is who will arrive to save Wendy? She is in her own place so only Justo seems likely.

'm kind of waiting to see if Ruben and Elvius find out that Maria is in LA with Santos and out of their clutches. That should wipe the smirk off their faces and what fun is it going to be for them to kick a few old women and kids out on the street when their main target has flown the coop.

Coloso's choice hot singer or moping waitress?

I may be the last person standing that is still having fun with this one and i won't apologize for it. LOL

I'm still not sure what it is about this tn that's keeping me watching (maybe the opportunity to snark?) but I'm still here 'til the end. I don't comment that much because usually someone else has read my mind and done so. But I enjoy reading the recaps and comments.

Been thinking instead of working but I'm guessing that Michael or Don Nando will see Maria in the prison after JAntos plays the jackass card again. Either of them can tell her what has been going on. She will recognize Dan Nando because of his resemblance to Fernando and somehow will trigger his memory by referring to a son. However I don't think that the two will ever be reunited. The old man is a convicted murderer wether rightly or not we don't know and Fernando hates the memory of his father so much I can't see him traveling the US to see him. Then again Mejia likes HEA's and so maybe there is hope, but please no Amelia Juso match up.

Thinking back on it why didn't Salvador who made the crossing himself have enough sense to lug a few gallons for this trip unless he figured they could get a ride some how (and since Maria gets to the rprison they must do).

Since Salvador is in the US illegally isn't he taking a big risk, too?

Ditto on the empty satisfaction of Ruben evicting everyone except Maria.

Yep Salvador is taking a big risk but he was also the one who helped smuggle Santos over the border in Justo's trunk. He met Santos on th Death train and most of us were surprised that Justo the diplomat kept the illegal in his house. Salvador had to cross the border back into Mexico to help dumbbell Maria. I'm really curious to see how Maria is going to react when she finds out all of her friends kept the secret about Amelia's illness from her.
