Qué Bonito Amor #101 (Mex 139) Tuesday 9/3/13 Say, you look familiar, and a new Godfather is in town

Que Bonito Amor Cap 139, 9-03-13—Say, you look familiar; and a new Godfather is in town

Hola everyone. I'm filling in tonight!

EVENTS MAY BE CONDENSED AND NOT LISTED IN STRICT ORDER, TO SAVE MY SANITY.

JAntos talks to the moon through the bars of his cell and says how it's been his and Maria's "accomplice" and wants the moon (???) to assist Maria in living her life happily "for the both of them," since his life is over and everything's turned to crap. But, he tells the moon, even though his life is crap, he will never stop loving Maria.

Talkin' to the moon while in prison. What else would a guy do?

Meanwhile, Maria is mooning over JAntos (heh—see what I did there?) and Wendy comes over to apologize for being such a bitch, mentions that JAntos is such a sweet guy that he's forgiven her even though she turned her back on him, yadda yadda. Maria is very warm to her. She tells Wendy that even though she didn't get her travel visa that she'll find a way to see JAntos.

The Godfather got Orange Guiliano out of prison by lies and fake alibis and whatever, and Guilano is on his knees, grateful for it all. But the Godfather doesn't want to hear it, he wants to bump off Guiliano who has proven to be useless! He pulls out a gun . . . Uh oh!

Meanwhile, Derecho is pissed that the Godfather got Guiliano out, and is starting to suspect that Justo is right, and the Godfather is behind all of this. He and Curtis will pay the Godfather a visit.

Back with Orangie and the Godfather, they struggle for the gun and it goes off!

JAntos and Michael are talking about Wendy's baby and JAntos is grateful for Michael being willing to take on Wendy's kid. Darren (blue-eyed earring guy) comes in and informs them that Orangie got out of prison. Major impactado!

The Godfather is dead, long live the Godfather! Orangie takes the old Godfather's hat and puts it on, and looks insane as he proclaims that he's the Godfather now. And he vows to get JAntos! Crazy dude doing all of this while the old Godfather is assuming room temperature on the floor.

Let's hope that the old Godfather didn't have any head lice. On second thought, let's hope he did . . .

JAntos has a mini hissy fit at the news that Orangie is out. Darren and Michael try to calm him down by assuring him that the Godfather made a deal with JAntos, and the "honor" of the mob means he'll keep it. (Uh oh!) JAntos doesn't seem mollified as he worries about Maria and the rest of his loved ones.

Calming down an agitated JAntos.

Maria is preparing for her trip and her mom is surprisingly supportive. Chit-chat. They talk about who's going to run the bar while Maria's away. Susanito, of course! He'll be perfect.

Susanito is nervous over the medical fertility tests. What will the results be? He REALLY wants kids. His other dream is to study music and be a composer, though he knows such a thing is very expensive. Ira is supportive and they hug.

Siete Mares is apologizing to Ana, who is kind to him, points out his many virtues (hard-working, nice, etc) but reminds him that he really let her down by falling off the wagon. He's got so much going for him, she tells him. He thinks he's got nothing if he doesn't have her. He wants to take her somewhere and show her something. She seems skeptical.

JAntos, Michael and Darren wonder what to do, now with this development with Guiliano. They can't get Juntos involved, that's all JAntos knows.

The doctor tells Susanito that he's shooting blanks. Okay not really, but he's got a low sperm count. The doctor tells him this without Ira present, so he can decide when and how he'll break the news.

Blue-Eyed Aaron is the new student in Paloma's class, and he only seems to have eyes for Paloma. Vanessa seems impactada to see him there.

He, like, can't stop staring at her!

A desperate (and dipshit) JAntos decides he's got to break out of jail in order to protect his family. Darren and Michael just shake their heads. They tell him he's a dipshit (only nicer than that) but a seed is planted in their minds—get online access and look up the architectural plans for the prison and find a way out.

Bonding scene in the kitchen with Maria, Wendy, and Amalia. Maria is cooking a dish that JAntos taught her, much to Wendy's amazement, and then we have a flashback of JAntos doing the cooking. They chit chat about the cooking for a bit and then Wendy doubles over in pain.

Cheeky blue-eyed Aaron is introduced to Rodri and Paloma as Vanessa's cousin. The cheeky boy kisses Paloma on the cheek and compliments her looks. He's really not cute at all, I don't care if he has blue eyes! It seems Paloma thinks so too, as she doesn't seem thrilled by the kiss.

Susanito is all no puede ser about his slow swimmers, and we have a PSA about the health issues that might bring on a low sperm count from the doctor, who says there are other options for him and his wife.

Maria and Amalia have taken Wendy to a less than first-class medical establishment and Wendy, a dipshit like her brother, is kvetching about it. What matters the most is the welfare of yourself and your kid, Maria and Amalia patiently remind her. But Wendy doesn't want to go to this hospital for poor people! But with her doubling over in pain, it looks like she doesn't have many other options. As they wait at the clinic, a teary-eyed Susanito appears and Maria's all in his face wondering what's up. But he doesn't want to say and tells her to butt out (only nicer than that). Maria is distracted by a screaming Wendy and Susanito is able to make his escape.

The cute kid of Fernando (whose name I still keep forgetting) has something he wants to show Isa or something. FF >>>

Siete Mares takes Ana to a statue of the Virgen, gets down on his knees and vows he'll never drink again. He wants to be a "good husband" to Ana. She's starting to look increasingly uncomfortable. Fernando and Coloso sneak around a corner and are listening in as Siete Mares turns to Ana and say's it's "her turn" to make a vow, and that is that she'll NEVER leave him! Ana has a trapped look on her face. (RUN, Ana, RUN!)

He expects waaaaay too much.

Susanito wanders around on the streets and asks God why he's got a low sperm count. His thoughts are interrupted by a little boy who is crying because he's lost his parents. Susanito will help locate mom and dad and he thinks of what if this were his kid and he was lost? Whatever. FF >>

Ana wisely balks at making a sacred vow to the Virgen about forever loving Siete Mares. She explains as gently as she can to him that she can't do it. Fernando and Coloso are listening in and rooting for her to say no. Siete Mares seems surprised that she won't say it. "Do you love me or not?" he asks.

Jalisquo (cute kid, finally I know his name) talks Isa into something that her mom won't like and probably will ground her for. We shall see.

Arrogant Blue-Eyed Aaron is told off by Rodri—keep away from Paloma, she's mine! Blue-Eyed Aaron tells Rodri that he "always gets what he wants" and he smirks like a Junior Douchebag that I'm sure he is. He tells his cousin Vanessa that Paloma will be his. She and her friend make faces like, whatever, dude.

The doctor tells Wendy (and Maria and Amalia, who are there too) that she's too much of a high-strung pain in the neck and she should chill already. Stressing out causes these premature contractions. Calm down or risk going into labor early or losing the baby. Wendy promises.

Siete Mares tries to pin down Ana with a vow of everlasting love. Ana isn't going for it and tells him he needs to ask himself if he really loves her. Asking this of her is not an indication of it. Think about it, she says, and he seems to be going off to do just that. Fernando and Coloso are listening in and Fernando reveals himself after Siete has gone off.

NO, the answer is NO!

Fernando wants to know why she wouldn't make that vow. "Buzz off and it's none of your business" is the general reply. He wants to delve deeper but she cuts him off, saying he's the last person to talk about love. After she leaves, he's thinking that now is the time to make his move, and he's obviously emboldened.

Back at their house, Maria, Amalia and Wendy are chit-chatting over tea and reminding Wendy to chill out. (In a nice way.) A knock on the door and it's a professor from Maria's school. He informs her that there's this new program that will (it sounds like) be a fast-track to graduation. A two-week course, one test, and then graduation! And Maria's among the first group to be considered due to her good grades and so forth. But Maria doesn't want to go, because it's a bad time. She's got to go to JAntos and all. Amalia isn't so sure. To give up her life's dream, after all the sacrifices she's made?

Mom has a good point.

Darren thinks that the only person who could get access to the blueprints to the prison would be Michael, since he's the warden's dentist. Michael is like no way, it's nuts!

Wendy is kind of tacky, but she hits the nail on the head. Don't give up your dream, Maria, my brother is cooped up in jail and isn't going anywhere. After the two weeks you'll need to graduate, he'll still be cooped up. He might be cooped up for 20 years if our dad doesn't prove his innocence!

Back at the prison, Michael laughingly agrees to participate in the madness. He'll ask to have access to the warden's computer. Darren says that if there's to be an escape, they can count on him. As these guys foolishly continue to talk "escape," a grizzled old geezer prisoner wanders in and asks, "Did someone say 'escape'"? Impactado looks from JAntos because the geezer is an old Fernando!

Who's this guy?

JAntos looking intense.

Why, it's Fernando in old-age makeup!

Wendy is all snippiness and attitude, but again she's right—don't give up your degree for JAntos, Maria! Maria's all full of sunshine, rainbows and valentines, but Wendy is practical and pragmatic. There's a limit, she says. And she ends with, "I know my brother, and he'll NEVER forgive himself if you give up your degree!" Too true. Maria looks impactada.

Back to Fernando Senior: He hobbles in and says he wants to escape, he hasn't got much time left and he doesn't want to die in jail. He's got nobody. JAntos wants to say no, of course. Cutting to the chase (because this recap is getting TL;DR already), the old dude has a bad memory, he doesn't remember anything of his past, they said he killed someone. He doesn't remember. Blah blah. JAntos points out that the old dude is reallllllly familiar. He looks like a guy back in Mexico named "Fernando." Funny that, Old Dude is also named Fernando. Young Fernando is from (insert name of region here) and Old Dude says, "That name brings up feelings for me." Yeah as if we didn't know already, this must be Fernando the Younger's dad.

Cut him a break, will ya? He's old. Well, at least he's wearing make up to look old.

JAntos can't get over how familiar Mr. Nando looks.

Fernando the Younger is thinking about how Ana told him he shouldn't be speaking of love. He sighs.

Maria's college professor reminds Maria that her degree is a dream of her mom as well, and is Maria going to deprive her mom of that? This gives Maria something to chew on as the professor leaves.

JAntos is yakking more with Mr. Nando (Fernando Senior) about the beauty and color of Mexico. Poor Mr. Nando can't remember any of it. JAntos hopes to help him remember. Michael comes in and they chat more about how super awesome Mexico is. Then Nando takes his leave.

Some scene with Maria reminiscing and some singing. FF>>

Michael got permission to use the warden's computer. JAntos and Michael are in an office (the warden's?) ALL ALONE. Yeah my beanie is giving me fits right now. Like it ever lets up. JAntos has this theory that they'll find the blueprints to the prison online, from one of the construction companies in Los Angeles. The prison was built 20 years ago but these guys always use the same plans (or something). They find a site for a company "Pacific Coast Homes" that has an English-language title but is written all in Spanish. Because you know, everyone in Los Angeles speaks Spanish! LOL.

Go to any Los Angeles web site and it'll be written in Spanish. Of course!

As they are looking at the site, the guards bust in and demand to know why they're looking at a web site on construction. Uh oh, busted! END OF EPISODE!!

Just doing a little browsing . . .

. . . and they are busted by the guards!

AVANCES: Elvira feigns contrition to Maria; even gets down on her knees. Elvira telling Ruben that her dad is really ill. Guiliano threatening Justo and showing him pictures taken of Wendy, etc. Guiliano talking on a cell phone to JAntos and JAntos getting hysterical. MUST SEE TV!!! We are also now in Ultimos Capitulos now.

I didn't get a lot of the jailhouse talk, so I'm waiting for the most part.

However, Susanito shouldn't be too surprised at his low sperm count; Mancia's been working at cutting off his cojones for ages.

If the GF is really dead I wonder how long it will take for anyone to find out. As to Giuliano, he is Fredo Corleone and therefore useless in a position of real authority.

At this particular moment two weeks would not matter a whole lot in terms of Santos' legal situation. Maria should take the class and the test and get her degree; she can skip the ceremony if she wants.

The problem with two weeks is that Fredo Corleone is about to make a move. I have doubts that the other members of the GF's crew will show him the same respect they did Vitoriano. They may even hold him responsible for his death.

Justo may suspect it when he hears about it.

Maria is not safe in either country. She still has to worry about Ruben and if she goes to El Lay there is Giuliano.

The 20 years projected for Santos' term would probably include his escape from Dumb and Dumber when he got put over the border the second time. The border guards would have to admit they erred to erase that one.

OJ as Fredo I can see it. Agree that he has some cojones to pick up the old man's hat and assume the rest of the mafiosi will fall into line, that he is the successor — not in a million years idiot.

Good luck with Dumb and Dumber going to talk to the late GF. They could probably trip over his body and not get it that JAntos didn't do the killing.

So Vainessa has an equally obnoxious cousin Assron. What are they supposed to represent a younger version of Elvirus and Ruben - obsessed and scheming? Looks like it is going to be Roddy's chance to be expelled from school - YAWN

I wonder if JAntos will be able to help Old Fernando remember his past. It isn't like the guy is senile and lost it, it was a head wound and it must have been a pretty nasty one judging by the scar.I wonder how other than a jail break they will be able to get the two Fernandos together.

Poor Wendy probably imagined herself having her baby in one of the fancy suites at Cedars Sinai and find herself in a somewhat dingy clinic in a third world country. No wonder she is stressed to the max. Can't imagine what Justo was thinking in leaving her alone. She is trying to be a trooper and succeeds about half the time and her advice to Maria was spot on. Two weeks is nothing in the scheme of things and a law s=degree would be a huge help later on.

My jaw almost hit the floor with Amelia, heart of mother suddenly being all supportive and even bringing Maria neatly ironed clothes for her run for the border. Somehow I don't think people scheming to cross the frontier are worried about having nice freshly pressed clothes, it's more about having gallon and gallons of water.

Well, Ana's trying to both be nice and stick it to Fernando has come back to haunt her. I always though she cared about 7 Seas as a sort of reclamation project and now she's got what could turn out to be an obsessed man on her hands. Wonder what she will think when she finds out Fernando wrote all those letters she has been mooning over.

I think Vainessa and her cousin are in cahoots. This is filler.

Elvirus and Ruben are definitely cooking up their last stand.

Siete Mares is going to sink. Fernando needs to find his cojones and get Ana back or just give up and find another lady. Is he ready for monogamy?

URBAN Fernando is definitely ready for monogamy. He has had several revealing conversations with both Coloso and JA and his own musings show that he loves her exactly the way she wants him to but he futzed around so much she can't/won't believe him. He has to dig his way out of a hole of his own making.

After last night i'm going to start ignoring the Advances. The previous one never showed the gun in the GGF's hand and from the reaction you'd think OJ had bought the farm. I have to remind myself that advances are only a way to insure we stick around and don't always present the true picture of what happens. Although in the case of OJ, it would have been very satisfying to see him dead and gone. He is moving up the murder victims at his hand list with three now to Ruben's one. However ever neither one of them hold a candle to Guerra who got charged with thirteen and that didn't include the two miscarriages she forced.

Ay, Elvira--this is classic you, with pictures to boot. I'm dreamy-eyed over your Jorge stills.

Just loved it every time you were forced to say "(in a nice way)."

Your beanie is giving you fits? Mine gave out long ago. It's not filtering out any of the stupid stuff.

1. OK, Padrino gets OJ out of jail (federal prison, excuse me), I'll give him that one. He brings OJ to his inner sanctum, wearing his black hat indoors (hmmm, I knew THE Rogelio Montero Baez and you, sir aren't anywhere near close to being any kind of Rogelio).

Where are his henchmen--he should never have met with OJ alone, just look at the difference in age. OJ could easily overpower him, gun or no. Good for OJ for trying to save himself from dying.

OK, what is Padrino doing deciding to eliminate OJ on his own. Padrinos, once they reach the top, never do their own dirty work.

2. Michael as Trustee would never be able to *use* the warden's computer under any circumstances, especially alone.

He'd need all kinds of passwords first anyway. It would be much more realistic for them to go to the prison library in the morning and do the same thing.

How on earth did the guards bursting in know exactly what he was looking at. Pacific Coast Homes looks more like a single-family housing builder. Gaaack.

3. What was the likelihood that the fast track to graduation was only two weeks and a test away? Me thinks this is a convenient delay to stretch it out. The professor just shows up at her door? He has better things to do. He should have asked her to come in to see him at his office. That could have stretched it out as well.

I don't think her degree is going to help Santos one whit, but it will ensure them a future above the poverty line. Hey, she could always take over Ruben's business when he has to close his office--oh, he already did. Now's your chance, Maria, think, don't be stoooopid.

4. Amalia ironing clothes for Maria to take north across the border. Riiiiight!

Well, if she makes it, she *will* need some nice clothes to wear, especially several of those off-the-shoulders red tops she favors.

5. Susanito and his slow swimmers. UA--I think you diagnosed his problem perfectly--Mancia.

6. I really didn't need to see the Ana-7 Seas swearing event (do any of you remember Seven Seas Green Goddess salad dressings? I think of it whenever I see Siete Mares).

7. Why do we need Aaassaron at this late date. It would have been a lot more fun while we still had the Paloma-Roddy feud going on.

Now that they are all lovey dovey and Paloma has sworn never to doubt Roddy again, what's the point. Decie--you came up with a good one--he and Vanessa are Elvirus and Ruben in training.

Elvira - Terrific recap. Love all the captions, but the "head lice" one is just too funny.

Enjoying Old Fernando. I like to be surprised and I didn't expect this at all.

Ana needs to step back from Siete Mares. He's not helping himself and she can't fix that. She's now in that hole I said she'd fall into because he has the crazy notion that she loves him. Or has become obsessed with her.

ANITA

My comment about Maria's degree was a fallback for her if JA didn't get out of prison which we of course know that he will. Also her dream apparently is to have a specialty dealing with women and children's issues and she would really diminish herself in my eyes if she put her own romantic future over doing something to help people who seriously need help and representation not only in Mexico but all over. Wendy is right that JA would be very upset if she gave up her dream to make an illegal trip across the border. Girl needs to start thinking.

Am ignoring all the stupidity with the warden's office and how the guards knew what website JA was looking at. If he is smart since it is a residential site he could lie and say he was just checking on something for his sister and her baby to live in. I see Santos headed for solitary once again and that at least will give him some protection from OJ.

Decie--I do remember now, something about Amalia telling Maria about her wanting to help women and children after she gets her degree. You must have mentioned the fall-back position in a comment that, ay caramba, has already escaped me, just like Old Fernando's bonk on the head.

In any case, we both believe she should go ahead and take Wendy's practical advice and just do it, since two weeks won't make any difference to Santos. If he does end up in Solitary, all the better, I say (in a nice way).

Any escape attempt could earn a legit sentence; Santos should be smart enough to know that.

URBAN he should be smart enough to know it but this is Novelaland so who knows. It could also be used against him in court as the consciousness of guilt. For someone who is innocent he certainly continues to make himself look guilty. Perhaps before the poop hits the fan Dumb and Dumber or someone else will tell him that the GF is gone and therefore all bets are off. Then again if he realizes that OJ fancies himself the new Padrino he may be even more determined to get the hell out of dodge.

OJ was so laughable, trying to look like the padrino. Just putting on the hat doesn't do it, jerk. And looking like you're sucking a lemon doesn't make you look tough, just stupid.
