La Tempestad Capitulo 53, Wed 10/9/13 - See ya, wouldn’t wanna Bea ya
This was an awkwardly edited episode. I combined some scenes which helped me but not necessarily the continuity of events. Did Uni combine episodes again?
¡Por supuesto que no!
Remember where we left off last night? Fully drops the bomb, he wants Laz to Kill DamFabre! Will Laz do that for him? Oh hell no! avers Laz. He won’t do anything against Dam. Fully says too bad, don’t you want me as an ally? Laz pops off that he won’t bloody his hands for Fully again and he stomps out. Fully laughs, Laz has got spunk (agallas), he’s Fully’s son all right.
Bea staggers around and clutches her chest, then pretends she feels fine when Becky bops in with newspaper pics of Queen Bea getting crowned. (By Hernan? How odd.) Becky babbles that this shows the townspeople are on their side. Bea makes the big mouth bass face some more when Becky’s not looking.
¡Estás despedido!
Uh oh. Olinto tells Hernan the bad news that all the refrigerators are busted. They were fine yesterday when he closed out the factory like he always does. Hernan accuses Olinto of rushing off to the Singles Mingle and not fulfilling his responsibilities of shutting down the factory properly. Olinto denies it but Hernan says juarever, Olinto is responsible and now he’s fired!
Meanwhile at the Love Vacation Farmer’s Market Marina clutches her chest. She’s got a bad feeling and it ain’t heartburn. She wants to call Bea but forgot her phone. My gosh Dam is hot. Bea who?
Hernan calls Olinto stupid, says get packed and get packin’, it’s your last day at the packadora. Hernan checks his manicure and thought bubbles that Marina will regret going on her little vacation with DamHunkaBurninLove.
Jose joins Bea and Becky. Bea jumps up and faints. A likely excuse, she probably just wanted Jose to carry her around. Becky calls an ambulance...Ha ha! Just kidding! She tries to call Marina. Who is not medically trained. And is on vacation. (You didn’t really think she would call an ambulance, did you?)
When the cat’s away the rat will play.
At the fishery the La T crew brings in some fine looking fishies. But Hernan is pithed so he struts around, tells everyone that DamMissing didn’t tell anyone where he was going and that the crew are Dam’s lapdogs. He says Dam is his employee and didn’t have permission to take time off. Oso points out that Dam doesn’t take orders from anyone except Marina Reverte.
Hernan picks on Bagre, Oso and Lagarto and tells them they’re fired. Oh and tell the fat guy he’s fired too. He mocks them and says fine, when Dam gets back just tell him to come to the office for a face to face.
Dam and Mari take a break from shopping for a bite to eat in a restaurant with long balloons and decorations. Apparently there is a masked ball there tonight. Uh, OK.
The ambulance arrives and Bea is wheeled out of the house. Hernan shows up and Becky tells him she wasn’t able to get a hold of Marina. Hernan volunteers to look for her. Say NO Becky!!! Becky says NO but Hernan now has the perfect excuse and is determined to find Marina.
Dam and Mari eat and smooch. And smooch some more. Marina makes him promise that he will always tell the truth and never keep secrets from her ever again. And never fall out of love with her. And never make her suffer. Dam swears he will live only to make her happy. Oh young lovers, if only life were that simple.
Bea is rushed into the hospital and Becky is hysterical. The doc takes charge and Jose takes Becky in his manly muscular arms. (Hey, he’s got them too!!) Hernan shows up and bugs Becky to call Marina again. No answer.
Bea looks bad. Maybe she finally shut up.
Jose calls Mercedes with news of the latest crisis about Bea. Marina doesn’t know yet, they haven’t been able to get a hold of her. Merce can’t leave the DF, what with Mag’s delicate frame of mind and all. Merce calls Dr. Gonzalez (Bea’s old doc).
Mags is at Merce’s Club for work. Ewww, Ernesto slithers and reintroduces himself. He wants to talk to her. Can she step out with him? She’s about to go but Hector stops her. Mags is pithed but Hector says no way can he allow her to go with Ernie or anyone. Ernesto tries to push his weight but Hector stands firm.
Beso Beso Beso
Dam and Marina take the bus back to the love shack. He ribs her about not being used to taking the bus but she says she used to take the bus with her dad out to the country. It’s just an excuse to kiss some more. Somebody give those kids some chapstick. DamCute embarrasses Marina by announcing to the bus his love for her. Then he calls for besos.
I was wrong about Bea. She didn’t shut up. She’s gasping for Marina. She flatlines. Becky freaks. Becky cries. ShutUpBecky, you’re not helping here. Let Bea sleep. Forever.
Ernie returns to the citadel where he tells Macario that Mercedes had Mags very well protected. He wants Macario to somehow gain the confidence of Mercedes to get closer to Magdalena.
Hazlo por Marina!
Back at the hospital Bea is still alive. Becky tells Hernan she’s very afraid. He asks about Marina AGAIN and he offers AGAIN to find her. He does that thing he does so well tries to break Becky down, “do it for Marina!” Saved by the Doc. Becky shrieks “How is mi hermana? Digame!!!!!”
Dam and Marina come back to the cabin and she checks her phone. DamDistracting kisses her some more. She’s in the mood for a “massage” and some dancing. After the “massage” they nap and DamDreamer says he dreamt he was a great man in a nice suit and everyone paid him their respects, yet he felt alone, whatever that means.
Bea wakes up and gasps for Marina. (Why hasn’t Becky sent Jose to get Marina, eh? EH??) Becky gives Hernan the address of the love shack and the little weenie blasts outta there.
Bea’s old doc shows up. Things don’t look good and Bea needs to be transferred to the DF in Merce’s heli. He tells Becky to get Marina pronto! And they should prepare themselves for the worst.
Besame Mucho
OK, Mari wasn't kidding about the dancing. They are back at the restaurant and it’s some sort of weird masked ball. Everyone dances like somnambulists. It’s got a real sixties feel, not that Marina and Dam notice. Martini anyone?
The dance gets weirder. The beat picks up and they are dancing in some sort of stop-motion disco ball fashion. Hello...remember this dude got a podium finish in Dancing With The Stars? Why don’t they show him busting out some moves?
Merce pitches a fit when she finds out Ernie tried to talk to Mags, although I don’t why she’s surprised about it. She tells Hector that Ernie won’t give up so easily but she she’ll do what it takes to protect her daughter.
Mags is waiting tables and Macario deliberately bumps into her to call attention to themselves. Mercedes apologizes but does her radar go off when Mac kisses her hand? Apparently not because she offers him some champagne and agrees to sit with him. He sucks up to her, saying he came to hear the great Sra. Artigas sing. Merce calls Mags hija and Macario sucks up some more. What happened to Magda’s spidey radar?

Marina and Dam get back to the love shack and prepare for another night of Luuuurv. Marina remembers she left her purse at the restaurant. Dam says he’ll go get it, leaving Marina alone in the cabin for the big bad wolfe. Aaaaaaand here he comes. Knock knock knock, gasp! What are you doing here? Hernan calms Marina down, the better to see you with my dear, and says Rebecca sent him, probs with Bea, she’s dying.
Let the tonterias begin...
Marina doesn’t want to leave without Dam but Hernan presses. Your mom is dying! (Why can’t they go to the restaurant? Can’t Marina leave a note? That would be too easy.)
Jose calls Mercy and says Bea is in a private hospital in the DF. Wait a minute, then where are Hernan and Marina going? Aren’t they still on an island? There is some wacky editing going on here.
Magdalena wants to go with Mercedes to visit her “sick friend”. Mercy finally agrees but then wonders how she’s going to keep her two daughters apart.
Dam gets back to the cabin and the caretaker tells him that Marina left with some guy named Hernan Saldano. Think Dam Think!! He notices she was in such a hurry she didn’t take her cell phone with her.
Hernan drives Marina home, or to Mexico City I guess, and updates her on Bea’s condition. She’s been transferred to a special clinic in the DF. If they are in such a rush why is Hernan driving 5 miles per hour?
Marina arrives to the hospital and Becky tells her hat Bea is fighting. Mari tells Hernan he’s noble and generous. Gag me with a spoon.
Doc Not-suspenders updates Marina. He tells her Bea is not dying and of course she can see Bea. Hernan slithers in with her, the little snake.
DamFurious gets home and reads the paper. He sees Hernan’s mug and...is interrupted by his crew thank goodness. He tells them the imbecile Hernan retrieved Marina from the love shack. They tell DamRelieved about Bea’s crisis. Ah, so THAT explains it.
Marina finally connects with Bea while Hernan looks on.
Dam goes to the local hospital and Doc Suspenders tells him Bea went to a private hospital and warns Dam about making a scene. DamPosessive pitches a fit. Doc tells him to be prudent.
Never agree to deathbed requests
Bea is all pathetic in her hospital bed and says she prayed for just a little more time with Marina. She has something very important to tell Marina. She must leave the pueblo. She must forget the fishery. Promise she will do that now. SHUTUPBEA!!!
Mañana - Mercedes reveals her secret to Bea.

Thank you, Cap'n Sylvia, another masterpiece. The recap was very detailed and I loved the humorous sides.
I agree that dance scene was weird, here was a prime opportunity for WL to show what he can do.
I loved the title. I thought that Bea was improving and then this. I should have figured that something was remiss when she said something sensible at the Fandango.
Hernan and Ernesto are so out of control. Can't wait until their anvils drop.
I wonder if the twins- Mag and Marina will meet sooner than later?

Thank you for recapping such a disjointed Capitula. You did a great job sticking in humor-supplying us with some oxygen.
I was so uneasy with this episode. When Hernan took Marina away I just wanted to scream. Then I just kept telling myself BREATHE-it's just a story.

Sylvia, just reading "See ya, wouldn’t wanna Bea ya" had me laughing heartily. A gem. Of course this was a veritable treasure trove with "A likely excuse, she probably just wanted Jose to carry her around", "Bea looks bad. Maybe she finally shut up" and "Hernan calms Marina down, the better to see you with my dear..." - all shone brightly.
The scene of Dam and Marina on the bus was adorable. The actors seemed to really be having fun. It all seemed genuine.
In terms of the plot? Yes, Becky should have sent Jose after Marina. This clearly made no sense. And Marina should have waited for Dam before leaving. However,in her defense, I've never seen a pushier, more insistent character than Hernan. He played on her emotions and I can't blame her to leave so quickly if she thought every second was critical.
So Hernan's fired just about everyone now. Does he have any replacements in mind?
Agree with you and Tablet jefa that William should have been given the chance to strut his dancing stuff which would have been Damdandy.
I hope Mercedes looks at Macario and thinks that anyone with the bad taste to wear such a hideous wig cannot be trusted. Smarmy attitude aside. Ack.

In fact, I see some dignity in a way she copes with terminal illness. Bea is annoying at times; she is not the sharpest tool in a box but she is almost endearing with her simplicity and fiery love for Marina. Marina is a loved child and that is all on Bea.
His Hotness was ready to show the moves but Marina is too rigid to shake her booty. Imagine DamStarDancer with Ursullis! Now that would be something that would burn the screen. Ursullis is in a totally different league of sexy.
Madelaine, love your description of Maggie being cross-eyed. Cross-eyed, dry drunk, suspicious, cynical, an abandoned child who learned to survive and did not have much. I like how she screens her environment and people with an equal opportunity of being pissed at them.

Variopinta, ditto on all your points to Mejia. It just makes them all appear really clueless. Even in a TN, there has to be some respect for the intelligence of the characters. Otherwise, one stops caring, I think.

Among three mothers, It look like Bea actually never accepts Dam. She had done everything possible to separate the two lovers, in sickness and in health, directly and indirectly.
In contrary, Mother Eusebia tried many times to unite the kids. In her death, she helped them reconcile.
Mercedes always wants the son of her "forever love" and the daughter of her "great love" be together.I would love to be in her place to look at the Grandchildren.

Ahoy and Good Morning. As usual the patio has some astute observations. Last night I was mighty pithed at Bea's deathbed request. But then again I got home late from a long-winded meeting so I was just kinda pithed period. However, in the cool light of day I think Beatrice just wants her daughter settled before she goes to the big fandango in the sky. This is normal. What is wrong is that she categorically refuses to acknowledge Marina's desires because she is convinced that DamProblemas will cause Marina a world of hurt.
Vivien, good observation about the three mothers. Of the three, Madre Eusebia was the only one who wasn't projecting her own agenda onto the couple. Bummer she's no longer around.

Olinto and The Crew have now been fired. What will Marina and Mercedes say when they find out about this?
Scene on the bus with DamFab and Marina was adorable. Loved how DamFab told everyone just how much he loves Marina.
It was actually DamFab who was going to get the massage. He had been joking around about Marina making him carry that basket of fruit all morning and she offered to give him a massage. I wish we would have seen it happen.
Jose should have been sent to get Marina. Why let Hernan do it? So frustrating. And yes it did seem like Hernan was driving 5 miles per hour. He was driving so darn slow.
Glad that DamFab found out Marina left with Hernan because of Bea. Thank goodness for the crew.

Scene on the bus with DamFab and Marina was adorable. Loved how DamFab told everyone just how much he loves Marina.
It was actually DamFab who was going to get the massage. He had been joking around about Marina making him carry that basket of fruit all morning and she offered to give him a massage. I wish we would have seen it happen.
Jose should have been sent to get Marina. Why let Hernan do it? So frustrating. And yes it did seem like Hernan was driving 5 miles per hour. He was driving so darn slow.
Glad that DamFab found out Marina left with Hernan because of Bea. Thank goodness for the crew.

Bea has some pretty big shoes to fill if you want to compare her to the magic Eusebia with her direct line to divine and the shining majestic Mercy.
She is limited, annoying, but not mean. She operates within the constraints of her tiny conventional world and her fears are fed by Herny. Yes, Bea has no magic ability to see the future and has no previous love ties to Michael Fabre to see DamGloriousHotness as Marina's soulmate . All she wants is the best (conventional best) for her daughter.
I don't want her to die. She finally let her hair down and started to have some fun!

I would've felt better about Marina had she taken a sec to write a note - "mom sick, gone to hospital." Then the note could've fallen on the floor or something so Dam would miss it and still have the same funk.
I'm giving Bea a break on her deathbed request, cause at least she didn't ask Marina to get back with Hernan. But it does make no sense that after Bea has been voted Singles Mingles Queen that she still fears for Marina staying in R-Laydee.

I have been thinking more about the twin angle for Marina and Mags. What if they teamed up? Now that would be something. Pull the wool over everyone's eyes and get the bad guys. If Mags ever finds out the truth, Come on Mercy, tell her everything, then the hate will turn to Pervy Ernie. He is the one responsible for what happened to her, being on the streets, being a ho, being an alkie, etc. I really want Mags to be his anvil so to speak.
As far as Monica Miguel goes, she may be off camera, but I believe she is still there off camera, so to speak. It is still moving the same way it did. If this TN is being cut back some, they may have gotten rid of superfluous scenes that really weren't needed, that's my story and I'm stickin to it ; )

Add me to the list of not quite understanding Bea's request aside from a bad plot device. She had a nice time at the party and people are nice to her and her daughter. Mads, I just saw your post. YES! I so want Mags to be Ernie's downfall (along with Ester) for what he has done to young women in general and how he has hurt Mags specifically (and may try to hurt Ester). He is so vile and I can't wait to see him get his as well as traffickers Fully and Herny.

Marina does not seem to be tied to her technology. I guess DamMesmerizing could have that effect on someone...anyone...everyone. I only use my cellphone for emergencies and often forget to charge it. However, the Ipad gets charged every night without fail. Marina also left her purse at the masked ball/restaurant in Whoville. However, who can blame her. She was dancing with DamMasked Hottie Machoterson anticipating another noche de Amor. Then, The Big Bad Wolf shows up with the bad news about Bea, and off she goes with him. Blecchh.

Love it! You folks are cracking me up. What a nice diversion from my "homework". Any Wizard of Oz reference always puts a smile on my face. I will now admit that I had put a snarky title before the paragraph about the bus ride, something like "And This Didn't Hit The Cutting Room Floor?", but the answer, WL is a hottie and their chemistry is good at last, was obvious.
I very much like the idea of the twins teaming up instead of trying to terrorize each other. Wouldn't that be a refreshing change? Of course the writers would have to think of some original ideas and dialogue as opposed to rehashed plots. Could such a thing be possible? I want Team M&M to take Ernie the Pervie down!

Susanlynn, Hernan's ideas are usually so ill-conceived I can't begin to imagine when he thinks he will spirit Hada back to R-Lay-Dee.
