Mentir Para Vivir #17 Tue 10/29/13 The Two Most Delicious Uvulas in the Universe

“Was fifteen minutes of pleasure worth your lifetime’s reputation?”  Los Angeles Televangelist’s thoughts on the Jesse Jackson Baby Scandal.

If This Car’s A Rockin’, Don’t Come A Knockin’

Outside of the Bolo Bar, in full view of the other patrons, Raquel conquers Cesar while riding astride him in his tiny chariot.

Unfortunately panting with Pretty Ricky rather than painting the walls of the garish blue bungalow is foremost on Oriana’s mind.  At his bedroom's threshold, she tells him that she doesn’t want to get preggers.  Ricky guarantees that he won’t knock her up until after he marries her.  They go in the bedroom and get busy.

Later, in the driveway, outside of Paloma’s mansion, Ricky continues feasting on Oriana’s lips like she’s his last meal and the chef just bought a gravy bowl to the table.  They pause only when Raquel knocks on the car window and makes hand signals to Oriana, indicating that she is watching her.  Oriana spots Cesar and asks Ricky if he thinks that Cesar and Raquel are an item.  Ricky could care less.  He says that he wants to formalize their engagement and rams his tongue down her throat.

Cesar feels so used and dirty!  After a committing filthy, depraved, and lewd sex acts with Raquel, Cesar curls into a pitiful fetal position.  On his bed, he regrets allowing that she-devil sex fiend to easily have her way with him.

Meanwhile, at a dive bar, Benigno orders two beers for himself and a date, Perlita.  Maria won’t run away because the nurse that Ricky hired watches her charge like a hawk.  Perlita bitches at him because she has to work; she refuses to move in with him as long as crazy Maria is there.  Benigno tells her that Ricky pays him well to keep Maria.  She gives him an ultimatum.  It’s either Maria or her.

Operation Maid Agent Investigates Deeds

The next morning, Paloma kisses a framed childhood photo of her daughter and places it in a prominent position on her desk.  Matilde comes in and tells her that she should be resting rather than up and moving around.  Matilde grabs the photo and moves it to a nearby nightstand. Paloma refuses to sit and confronts Matilde about how she treats Fabiola.  She says that Fabiola is a good girl and Matilde locks her up in the house like a nun.  Clearly, the speech is having no effect on Matilde.  Matilde says that she is just watching out for Fabiola; she doesn’t want her kidnapped.  Paloma compares Matilde to her late husband.  If he would have treated her daughter better, she would have never run away and met a bad man.  On the way out, Matilde gives Paloma her daily apple, but she doesn't eat it.  Paloma tells the maid, Nadia, to watch Matilde and report back to her.  Paloma puts the photo of her daughter back on her desk.

At Aresti Breton, Oriana has received Ricky’s obligatory, morning after, “thanks for the roll in the hay (fill in your name here)” roses and card.  She’s reading the attached card when Cesar enters her office.   Oriana tells Cesar that he’s been promoted over the Account Section, but he turns it down.  He’s just there because his mother told him to get a job.  He finds working with numbers boring.  He wanted to be an artist or writer.  Oriana says that they will help him.  He says no; it's too late.  Oriana tells him that it's never too late to follow your dreams and asks him if he’s hooking up with Raquel.  Cesar says no, they just went out to dinner.

A while later, Ricky visits Oriana to pick up his “thank you for the flowers and card” smooches.  She tells him that Cesar turned down the promotion; he wants to be an artist and numbers bore him.  Ricky asks Oriana to hire his ex-girlfriend Marilu as a secretary.  She agrees, saying that she’d rather keep Marilu close to her than to him.  He playfully accuses her of being jealous of Marilu, but tells her that she is the most important chick in the world for him.  This leads to more erotic tonsil inspections.

Mr. Brooks Searches for His Family

Lucina calls Felipe, who remains at the Villa El Descanso Eterno (thanks, Adrianna Noel).  He says that he’s finished his business in San Carlos and will arrive in Hermosillo tomorrow.  Felipe tells Lucina, that Eliseo, the buyer’s employee was asking about Oriana.  Lucina suspects the Jose Luis, Oriana’s husband, is the new owner and runs to tell Raquel about her suspicions.  At first Raquel doesn’t believe it, but Lucina convinces her.  Eliseo lied and told Felipe that Oriana would meet with Lucina and Raquel in two weeks.   Lucina finds it suspicious that Eliseo is not the buyer, but signed all of the paperwork and she never saw the buyer's face.   The buyer's name is Sandro Carvajal.  For some strange reason, Lucina believes that the cops are no longer looking for Oriana, so no one except Jose Luis would inquire about Oriana.  We learn that Raquel has never met Jose Luis either.  Each time Oriana came to visit, he was called away on business.  Raquel thinks that they should tell Oriana, but Lucina objects.  She tells Raquel that she will be really pissed off if Raquel opens her trap.

Matilde Outs Rhoda

Fabiola and Alina are sitting in the courtyard playing games on Fabiola’s shiny new cell phone.  Just in the nick of time, Matilde comes over and saves her daughter from the clutches of the tiny demented manic.

Having torn herself away from Ricky’s addicting lips, Oriana enters the garden and sees her downtrodden daughter’s face.  Nice try, Rhoda Penmark!  Only your mother would fall for those chestnut eyes and that darling widdle sad face.  Alina explains that Matilde was yelling when she yanked the phone Fabiola away from her.

In the living room, Matilde warns her daughter of the dangers of hanging out with a midget serial killer (thank goodness, someone’s finally got Rhoda’s number).  Ruben, hearing the ruckus, walks in.  Matilde screams that Fabiola is babysitting someone beneath them.  Oriana and Rhodalina walk in.  Oriana sends Rhodalina to her room and warns Matilde not to mess with her daughter.  Matilde says that she wasn’t talking about Oriana and Rhodalina.  When Matilde leaves, Ruben apologizes and blames Matilde’s mood swings on menopause. He half-heartedly tries to get Fabiola to back him up, but she runs crying from the room.  Nadia pretends to dust as she listens to the conversation.

A Priest Takes Some Cheap Shots

Shirtless Pretty Ricky and Mariano are shadow boxing in the gym.  Hmmm, in this episode, the priest has been throwing a lot more shots at Pretty Ricky’s face than he normally does.  Could the reason be jealousy over the love of Oriana?  He realizes that Ricky wants to marry Oriana, but asks if Oriana or Inez will walk down the aisle.  Mariano tells Ricky that he told Oriana that Jose Luis died and "playfully" hits Ricky in the head.

Oriana visits Rhodalina in the Pepto Bismal room and as usual, Tito shows a lack of interest in his owners.  Maybe tail wagging is not in his contract.  Who knows?  Anyways, Oriana tells her daughter that she’s special.  Keep your chin up.  This is your house.  Blah! Blah! Blah!

After giving her daughter, thirty seconds of quality time, Oriana heads to Lucy and Raquel’s room and gives them a check for the hotel.  They take the check, but neither mention that Jose Luis might be searching for her and Rhodalina.  Oriana wants to know who all knows that Inez was a hooker?  Matilde?  Does she know?  They don’t think so.

Nadia recounts the confrontation between Oriana and Matilde for Paloma.  Paloma ain’t happy.  Uh Oh!

Later that night, Marilu asks Ricky if he and Inez are lovers.  Yes, he says.  He slips and almost refers to her as Oriana.  Fedelia wants to meet his new girlfriend.  She is surprised to learn that Inez has met Maria and knows all about Sebastian being his son.  During this short interlude from tongue wrangling with Oriana, Ricky finally remembers that he has a kid and asks if anyone has heard from him.  Marilu says that Sabastian has been hanging out at the Bolo Bar.  Ricky tells Marilu that she will be working for Inez.  He tells the two ladies that Inez knows that he and Marilu were once lovers, but Inez trusts him and doesn’t see Marilu as a threat.  After Ricky leaves, Marilu tells Inez, that she could never work with someone who used to sleep with one of her boyfriends….I think that’s what she said.

Ricky returns to the blue monstrosity and calls Oriana.  He says that he wants to eat her for dinner with a big buttery biscuit.  Rhodalina comes in and asks who’s on the phone.  Oriana says Ricardo.  Rhodalina asks if Ricardo is her boyfriend, and more important, will he be taking her to the fair?  Ricardo says Alina should pick the date and time.  Rhodalina says that she misses her father.

At the doll hovel, Benigno, Elvira, Nurse Berenice and Maria are watching the Teletubbies.   As soon as Berenice leaves, Benigno changes the channel and upsets Maria.  She calms down after he offers to take her to the fair.  This is not going to be good.  I can tell.  Elvira tells him not to take her; there are too many people there.  He says that she won’t get into trouble because he will be with her.  He threatens to fire Elvira if she doesn’t butt out.

Oriana cries over coffee.  She tells Ricky that she feels bad because Rhodalina misses her father.  She blames herself for her husband’s real death because she lied to Rhodalina about his fake death when they were on the run.  He "comforts" her by saying that it was inevitable that Jose Luis would died a violent, grissly death because he was mixed up with the mob.  He’s surprised that Jose Luis didn’t get dead sooner.  They leave go to the Bolo Bar and order some lemonade.  Tearfully, Oriana tells Ricky that Rhodalina misses her father a lot.  She tells him that Rhodalina asked if she and Ricky were lovers, but she didn’t tell her anything.  She asked Rhodalina if she wants Ricky as a friend and Rhodalina said “hell no”.  Ricky’d better sleep with one eye open.  Oriana doesn’t want to formalize their engagement.  She thinks getting married to him would be impossible.  Ricky asks if she cares for him.  Yes.  He then asks if she loves him.  Yes.  He says that he will find a way for them to be together.  She wants to know who he will marry.  Oriana or Inez?  Ricky says that Mariano asked him the same thing.  Ricky says that he doesn’t care where they live as long as she loves him.  He is going to be with her even if they have to move to the North Pole and live with Santa Claus.  Oh...  Joy….more kissing (NOT).  I feel bad for saying it, but dammit, I will be happy when these two are finally split up for a while.  Just watching them makes me want to smear on some Chapstick!  And frankly their lips could use a break.

Benigno gives Maria a hand full of tickets for the merry-go-round and abandons her.  Later, he meets Perlita at the bar.  Problem solved!  Ricky won’t complain, otherwise he’ll go to the press and tell the world how Ricky raped a lunatic and knocked her up.  Also, he doesn’t think Ricky will complain since he has a new girlfriend.

Maria rides the merry-go-round unaware that she is being observed by two strangers.

Thank you, Cynderella, you are as funny as always.
You really don't like Rhodalina, huh? Ricky better beware!!!

I agree with you that there is too much kissing going around between those two crazy kids - I noticed it, too, starting with their love making session yesterday.
However, heavy smooching is part of the beginning of every relationship, so I'll allow it - when the tears starts falling, it won't be any prettier.

So Raquel is into the younger crowd - Sebas is bearly 18 and Cesar is early 20's. If she were real with Cesar, their relationship might work, he could use a free spirit like Raquel, but his artist soul doesn't seem all that interested. And Raquel still has the Ricky jitters, that's a given.

Padre Enamorado was sure taking advantage of that boxing practice, but Ricky has his number. How long behore their training turns into a real fight?

Super funny recap Cyn. :)

ITA. Constant smooching is part of the early phase of a relationship. I'm sure Ricky would actually love to keep Orinez in his home and his bed fulltime. I sure hope Ori used her last sponge during their first encounter or brought her own condoms that time, because it's a bit too late to mention not wanting to get pregnant during your second encounter!

Matilde is acting like an idiot. After Paloma's threats yesterday, she should be kissing Inez' butt.

In addition to Ricky asking if Ori was jealous of his ex, she picked up on a vibe from him and asked if he's jealous of Mariano. Hmmm...

Poor Cesar looked like he wanted to take a 2 hour shower after his encounter with Raquel. I hope he finds the path, and the person, that will make him happy. Such a sad young man.

Vivi, LOL wrt Cesar and the two-hour shower. He is such a sad guy. And nothing Raquel did made him any better. I'm glad they showed that sex isn't a cure-all for men. Society'd make you think that's all men want, but Cesar was definitely not made any better for the encounter. Matilde has killed all the fight in him and not even Raquel's 'encantos' could revive him. It's so sad how Tilda has henpecked her hubby and kids that they now suffocate all their hopes and dreams. Now I get why Ruben is on the golf course-- that's the only enjoyment he gets. Fabiola and Cesar have no outlet or enjoyment in life.

I'm now calling Abuela Palo a GGP for Gangster Granny Paloma. Perhaps Leona (Lioness) Paloma because she's sweet as a dove, but a lioness when it comes to her nieta, bisnieta and Tito. She is undercover ruthless in protecting them from Tilda and I'm glad she put her housekeeper Nadia on as her spy. And she was very clear with Tilda that she not say or do anything to offend 2nes, Lina and Tito and she still isn't getting the message. If not for Fabiola and Cesar Tilda would be kicked out of the house by now because Palima is done with Tilda.

I felt so bad for Cesar, definitely the saddest moment of the episode…him crawling into bed and (possibly) crying himself to sleep.

Matilde has ruined those children…and Raquel is making it worse.

Glad to see Paloma has noticed, although of scared what could happen to a sheltered girl like Fabiola out in Sonora with all those weasels around

Hey guys i enjoy reading your comments. i discovered this site by accident bcoz i had gotten hooked to Amor bravio... we are currently still watching the TN here in kenya, and i must say it never leaves me in suspense anymore bcoz i know where to find just what happened next.caray caray!! i always wonder how sharp one can be to be a recap-per, keep up the good work and your hillarious comments. Dee.

Thanks Cynderella, I can't believe you're getting tired of seeing Ricardo kissing, or are you just jealous?

I sure want to know what's up with Cesar? Was Slutquel that bad?

I didn't catch that part where Elisio said Oriana was going to meet up with Raquel and Lucina in 2 weeks. I thought he just asked Felipe where she went and he said that after she left the villa she just disappeared and he never heard where she went.

CathyX, he needs to mix it up! Carry her around, nibble her ear, kiss her neck...the constant smacking sounds are annoying me. Their kissing scenes last for ever. Its dreadful.

Cynderella:

Fabulous recap! So love your snark.

I too am loving Paloma. Such spunk! I wish she could throw ole Tilda out the door. She just keeps her around for the kids.

Poor Fabiola, I feel really bad for her. The class thing? I too don't think that Oriana or Lina are in Tilda's class! They are a higher class than Tilda could eva hope to be! I like the way that 2Nes handled her.

I am wondering about those apples too. If I were Paloma I wouldn't eat them y punto.

Still liking the Padre. Would he give up the priesthood for 2Nes?

As far as the love scene with Ricky and 2Nes, it really isn't bad. The lip smacking does detract from the scene, agreed!

Thanks Cynderella, as always, you bring incredible and audacious hilarity to your recap. Your continued wariness of the precious little Rhodalina (excellent) is cracking me up. You've got me eying her every move with suspicion...what is that kid up to now?

After sex with Raquel, I figured that an innocent like Cesar'd be making wedding plans. I'm going to guess that he is either gay or totally asexual... most likely gay. Poor guy, look at the one prospect for that scenario as of now... the creepy Berto... yikes! Asexual may be a better (and safer) choice.

As much as I'm enjoying Matilde, I think it'd be a crime if Ruben and Lucina don't end up together. They have wonderful chemistry.

I'm loving this show and as long as I get my daily dose of Raquel, I'll be just fine.

Carlos

Thanks Cynderella! Dang, you had me laughing all the way through, starting with your hilarious title.

Poor Cesar. That little dude's got some issues. But I'm glad he shared his feelings with Ines; she's kind enough to listen to him and help him out. That is, when she's not busy playing tonsil hockey with Ricky.

Well, I'm with you about the smacking kissing sounds. I also wouldn't want the mic to be right up at someones mouth when they're eating either. Maybe kissing without sound would be tolerable.

It seems to me that Lucinda and Raquel's roles are switched. Lucinda is acting more like she's Oriana's old friend than Raquel is. I could see the business associate who doesn't know Oriana from the past acting like a rival to Oriana, but not her friend as the rival.

Cathy, I think the writers did the Luci is a better friend to Oriana than Raquel thing on purpose. In the first ep, Lucina was skeptical about helping Oriana, but Raquel said she's a good friend and the minute Luci saw Oriana and Alina at the airport, she kind of fell in love with them.

I think the writers are highlighting that the Raq/Oriana friendship was a childhood thing and that Raq and Oriana have grown apart, and this whole mess with Falcon and Oriana pretending to be Ines just highlights that the friendship has stagnated because they aren't on the same page. I have friends from childhood who I thought we'd be bffs into adulthood but as we matured we saw that we weren't really compatible as friends. We were just close as friends due to time and chance.

Any way, I think Mayrin and David have good
chemistry and I'm surprised she's older than
him even at her most mommy-looking, Mayrin doesn't look a day over 35. I also think they look realistic, which might not be for everyone. But Mayrin has a really unique gift of looking great in close-up shots of her face and dowdy from far away. Mayrin also is a beautiful crier. I love when they show us closeups of Mayrin's face, because she has interesting features. Altair looks great and striking from afar, but weird closeup-I think a less yellow blonde would make her look better, but that's just me.

Cynderella thanks so much for your recap. I laughed and laughed and think that Padre may unfortunately become more violent w/Pretty Ricky.

Welcome Dee. I hope you are enjoying Amor Real. Our recappers do great work.

Carlos, ITA w/you regarding Cesar and I am dreading his possible hook-up w/psycho killer Berto. The former is such a sweet guy and deserves so much better. Matty appears to have messed up her entire family.

MadHilde is a real head case. I hope there is a lot of money for shrinks for her children in view of how she treats them.

Both Mayrin Villanueva and David Zepeda are 39 years old. Something to celebrate that we have a couple where they're the same age for a change.

If Madhilde weren't so greedy, she would have it made, it seems there is enough to go around. She wants it all.

Ricardo, pls get Maria a new sofa. But it looks like she won't need it for awhile.

Cynderella and Adriana Noel - Thanks for the last two recaps. Just getting caught up.

Dear, sweet Paloma is my favorite. The best moment so far in the TN for me is when Paloma told Madhilde that even Tito the dog is above her so don't even think about messing with her peeps. J desde NYC, love "GGP."

Ricardo and Oriana's chemistry is okay, but I confess I'm anxious for her husband to turn up. I'm not feeling that Oriana is in love just yet though. Her hub wasn't a horrible man from what I could see, just one tempted by greed. His first thought when he got caught was to protect his wife and kid. No idea what will happen, but I'd like to see Oriana’s feelings torn between the two men. Besides, Pretty Ricky has had it pretty easy with babes falling all over him. He needs to have to work for it. That should make him sexier.

Wow, Raquel really is a skank. In a way, I’d like to see her try to take on Padre Plaid only because no way would he be interested but instead give her the intellectual stimulation she so analyzes why she’s a skank.

Dee- Welcome to the blog! Please comment more often. I have traveled in Kenya and loved it, and was recently in neighboring Uganda and saw a familiar listing of tns in the tv guide. It seems you all will always be behind us in the States, but of course you can find the shows on the internet, as they appear in Mexico before they do here. Amor Bravio is a favorite of many of us here, so feel free to make reference to it as it's fresh on your mind. Now I think I'll go watch some Camila-Dan scenes. :)

Niece, while I cant dispute it, skank sounds a bit harsh and judgmental, I prefer the way Adriana Noel classifies her... a free spirit.

Carlos

Niecie-OMG. I would love to see how the padre would react if Raquel came on to him!

Thank you Cyderella, very funny recap. Poor Cesar, He needs counseling. Rape of any kind is not good. Mama issues prevented him from saying no. We all clearly saw his silent scream noooooooooo. Rachel is a trip. she is so into herself, she misses how she is viewed by her victims. By contrast the love scene between Rick and Ines was very realistic. Something we can all relate to. I, for one love their kissing scenes. Reminds me of time gone by. I wish Paloma is my grandma. she is awesome.

Hanna

OK. Just got my Amor Bravio fix. Haven’t had one in a while. I decided to look at the day after the first night of nookie between the protags: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EZrVkUZmd94

-Secret identity of one of the protags in place- check (although not yet revealed to the heroine in AB).
-Protag with secret identity believes they are widowed- check
-Lots of kissing and googly eyed looks and smiles- check
-BFF of heroine is NOT happy that they did the deed- check (but out of real concern, not jealousy in AB)
-Hiding their relationship from close family members – check (in AB a mother vs a daughter in MPV)
-Dealing with teens/young people with issues- check (in AB, a young rape victim and her BF; in MPV Sebastian and Cesar)
-Working with investigators to clear up a murder, including gun evidence- check

Carlos - Raquel is fun to watch. If they ever redo Betwitched, I can see Altaír Jarabo in the title role. But hopping atop poor Cesar in the car in public when clearly his mind is elsewhere, is skank territory to me.

Niecie,

Well at the very least...skankish. Poor Cesar, if he wasn't needing counseling before, he certainly will now after being Raqueled. And yes she'd be a perfect Samantha or Jeanie as well.

Carlos

Vivi, wow, we could almost say AB and MPV are the same tn...
And don't forget:
- the cute dog,
- the love shack being different from the house the rest of the family leaves in, but on the same property
- the hero's best friend is in love with the heroine
Oh, I miss AB...
Dee, please come back, the more, the merry

Carlos, did I call Raquel a free spirit? I was being gracious.
I don't think she's a slut, if a guy did what she does, he would be called a player, so that should be good enough for her, too.

I've been shipping Raquel and Padre ever since yesterday, glad to see I'm not the only one. LOL

Ah yes Adriana! Maja and Tito are very different kinds of dogs, but both so cute. And for a similarity, but flip side, between the two stories- the protag with the fake identity in AB is the real heir, pretending to be a servant; while in MPV, she's a fake pretending to be the heir.

I'm more in Mathilda's corner than ever after this episode. I'm even turning against that dear sweet old granny for getting on Mathilda's case for raising two such polite, well-mannered children. There should be more young people in the world like these two. It's fair to say that Mathilda has the attitude she does because either 1) Ines used to be a prostitute, or 2) that's not Ines. I am completely unable to feel an iota of sympathy, empathy, compassion for Oriana who is a complete fake, phoney FRAUD! The sound Ricardo and Oriana make when kissing reminds me of an elephant removing its foot from a mud hole.

Anon- I don't think Mati knows about Inez' past as a prostitute, yet. But I'm sure she'll find a way to get that info. For now, all she has are suspicions that Inez must be hiding something or might be a fake, but she has no real proof of either.

I'm actually going to credit Paloma with the good characteristics of Mati's kids. They also grew up with her. They certainly didn't learn their sense of kindness and generosity from their mom, or their sense of hard work from their dad. I think it would have been worse for them had they not grown up in Paloma's house because their parents were too shiftless to take the initiative to get back on their feet after Ruben's bunsiness failure.

But the granny blames Mathilda for being too strict! Which is it?

The first time we met Mathilda she was cutting fruit for granny. Pretty attentive, if you ask me. And remember, she really IS related to granny but Phoniana is NOT, and she has fraudulently taken on an false identity to become heir to granny's fortune!

When the law gets hold of her, Phoniana should be locked up and that dear sweet child taken from her.

Don't forget the picture of the real Ines' mom. I say Oriana is the real heir. Mom died when she was young, dad shortly after. We just don't know what happened between then & marriage to Jose Luis yet.

Definitely Raquel is free. She thinks she can get any guy she wants, so far she is right, at least once.

Madhilde is the type of Mom that can turns ninos into some sort of crazy, unless they are strong enough to overcome it. Lets hope Fabiola & Cesar are.

I think poison goes into that apple very soon.

Why does Matilde dote on Paloma? Do you think it's love and caring? It's money, a big house rent free, servants, and the prospect of being the heir to all that money that are the reasons for Mati's attentiveness towards Paloma. I'm not convinced she also isn't poisoning that fruit she brings Paloma each morning.

No one is entitled to someone else's money. Paloma could decide to leave all her money to Tito and not Inez or Matilde, and it would be her business and perfectly legal and acceptable. At this point, Orinez is earning her place as Paloma's heir by providing real (from the heart) love and care, and actually caring enough to work in the family business and improve it (something neither Mati nor Ruben have done).

Plus, Orinez has made clear to Padre and Ricky her intention to give her inheritance to Mati and her family, should Paloma die. So she has no intention of "stealing" (Mati's words) their long-awaited inheritance.

If that's true about Phoniana, that would stretch credulity farther than it has ever been stretched in a telenovela.

The comments are very entertaining for this TN. I've never before read someone defending and aligning oneself with the antagonist and maligning despising the protagonist before. On Corazon Indomable, we don't like any of the characters, good or bad, we're equal opportunity maligners there.

Thank you everyone for your kind comments.

OMG! I am Anon 12:17, I forgot to sign the comment. I totally can't listen to Ricky and Oriana slurping all over one another for one more minute. I think they have great chemistry! I like them together. The problem is that I watch the episodes on line and with earphones. Trust me, you can hear crackle!

Cesar was into having sex with Raquel. He was hugging her and getting into it in the car. I think he got remorseful when he got into his bedroom. Screwing outside of a bar in full sight can make a person feel a little dirty. Besides, she could have made the compared him to Sabastian or Ricky afterwards.

Dee, welcome. I'm sorry that I didn't get to you sooner. I was at work and couldn't get away. That's awesome that you've joined us. Please continue to comment.

The crowd (with exception of Carlos) sure turned against Raquel. I didn't vote the other day, but as long as she's using birth control, I say she's just having fun. She should probably shouldn't keep that fun all in the same family, but whatever. It makes the commute easier.

I'm just glad they didn't turn this heroine into the usual virginal saint. Does her having been married before make this allowable, or do these better writers just ignore the usual requirements?

Kelly

CathyX,

I just want to know if Raquel has standards. Is there anyone that she WON'T have sex with?

Although it's a disgusting form of revenge, it's still pretty effective. Everywhere Ricky goes, Raquel has left her scent. His kid, his home, his job....

Cynderella, it's too early to judge if she has standards. We're only on #17.

And she's only on #2.

Carlos...it's the one you least expect.

Cap'n: thanks, I really appreciate it.

Karen: the priest hit Ricky in his face twice. They've never made physical contact before. Why now? Will he turn evil shortly? He was trying to talk Ricky out of being with her, I think.

Hanna, I disagree that he was raped. Coerced, but not raped.

Kelly, Raquel is a hoooooaaaaah whose probably got that "nasty woman's disease". Ya gotta be a fan of the Color Purple.

Kelly- I'm not against Raquel, yet. But I seriously doubt her standards for who she sleeps with. If she's looking for pleasure, then choosing snotnosed brat Sebastian, and upright and uptight Cesar, were not a wise choices. If she isn't looking a a GOOD roll in the hay, is she just looking for ANY roll in the hay?

Anyone who sacrifices quality for quantity in anything, raises red flags for me. Something just aint right with that girl. And we haven't even touched on the fact that she's dangerously close to wanting to throw her childhood friend under the bus.

CathyX,

She's on #2, but she's being very efficient. She slept with Ricky's son. When he goes home or to visit his aunt, he knows that he and his kid shared "an experience". When he goes over to his godmother, he will know that he and Cesar shared and experience. Cesar works with him, so she's got that covered too. She is very shrewd. Now, all she has to do is sleep with the butler and she'll be good to go.

So many typos in that last comment. I swear, I'm not drunk. I think you get what I'm trying to say. :)

Vivi, I'm on my way to getting drunk and I didn't see any typos. Corazon Indomable is starting in 2 hours, so I better get busy.

I like David Zepeda but I must say, he just ain't the kisser that FC is.
He should give classes & I will be happy to assist.

So very late to the parties.

Adriana Noel, LOVED your recap from yesterday. I choose #6 where Raquel is concerned. Holy cow, she is something else, that is for sure.

Cynderella, once again, you had me DYING laughing! You are hilarious, m'dear; just hilarious!!

I love dear Paloma. I love her and I love the way she speaks the truth to Matilde.

Agree that Matilde has really done a number on her entire family and I DO think she is poisoning the apples.

I want to reach into the TV and bring Tito El Bambino home with me. He is one cool dude.

I agree that Sebas was a questionable choice given his youth, but Cesar has a good job and seems nice enough. He could be trained. Maybe there just aren't very many quality men in Hermosillo? (Although she should definitely go for Piero (?) next. Way cute, if you don't know about his past). It's not like she's hit on the priest yet.

Kelly, Piero could be #3, she hasn't met him yet.
Will she make a play for Ruben? I think the padre has better standards. Does that complete all the male characters?

Rather strange that we have seen so little of Antonio, who we suspect of being Sebastian's real papa. Probably a good match for Raq. I believe in equality in the sex dept, if you can handle it, obviously Raq can.

Didn't Cesar say sth about having a true love & losing them?

To the anon calling Oriana phoniana. Just a few facts to add. Oriana didn't,t take Ines' identity to get her fortune. In fact, the fact she thought Ines was a sketchy, unknown person who happened to like her-which hints again that Ines IS THE HEIR- who had no money was what made the Ines identity good to steal. The identity allowed Oriana to live for two or so months as a hardworking, anonymous person taking care of her child.
Remember, Oriana's boss at the time, and her babysitter said Oriana was a hardworking girl who had no visitors and no male callers. She was living in a run down apartment with a leaky roof. This was why when the PI came looking for who they thought was Ines, they gladly helped him because they thought Orianez was a great woman who desrbed to meet her rich grandma. She didn't take Ines' I'd to become rich.

As I mentioned in the last ep's thread, Matilda and Ruben are loafers, and Cesar and Fabiola are the only reason why they are still in Paloma's house. They have been living off Paloma's charity for twenty years and made no effort to bounce back. The crisis Ruben discussed when he was speaking with Paloma happened in 1994! when the Mexican gov't devalued the peso. Yes, Tilde is Paloma's house manager, but Paloma pays fully for their lifestyle-both Cesar and Fabiola's schooling, the cars Tilda and Ruben drive and for Ruben's golf habit with his buddies. Plus, Tilde treats the servants badly. A regular salaried house manager would be cheaper for Paloma.

Look how quickly Ruben helped out lucina and Raquel to get a hotel and arrange for the upkeep. He has connections to bounce back but has chosen not to because he's lazy and Tilda henpecked him so bad into thinking he's a loser, he hasn't tried to bounce back.

Cesar and Fabiola are great kids and not loafers, but Ruben and Tilda are wrong to be abusing paloma's charity, especially Tilda to harass Oriana, who has offered to work since day one. In fact, the only reason Oriana ran away was because she felt guilty about being the heir. I still think Oriana and everyone who knows who she is should go to the authorities and confess, but I think the moral in this TN is that when you lie, even for supposed good reasons, it will blow up in your face.

J desde NYC, ITA!!! and well said!

Fatima

Another thing to add. Even if you believe what Oriana et al are doing is morally reprehensible-and it is since Paloma could take the truth imo-how tilda is going about getting back at Oriana, by harassing Alina, an innocent child, is a lot more morally reprehensible. Even Oriana said to Tilda if you hate me, fine, but don't mess with Alina. I disliked Matilda when she took Tito and then hid behind her son Cesar to apologize for her. That plainly shows you her character.

Isn't Raquel on #3? Ricardo, Sebastian, Cesar. Or maybe we're just counting "kids" and not actual grownups.
