PEAM #165-10/28/13: Chucho Is On the Case; Xochi Has Big News, The Return of Rico Suave!
Hola PEAM Peeps! I am subbing for our wonderful Ms Cheryl who is in Oxaca for a couple of weeks. This recap will be short and sweet, maybe ; ) and mostly in order. I am skipping the old and going straight to the new.
Luisa is much better. Chatita and Sebas make a good team in watching her as Chucho is going to have a muy busy day.
Alma in the jail is being formally charged with Marta's murder. No bail for poor Alma. She will stay incarcerated. Astudillo later calls Chucho and tells him the same.
Pato, Rog and little Ferny are all sleeping, but Ruh Roh, little Ferny wakes up and cries, and Pato tries to wake Rog, who is very slow to wake up. Pato gets up and tends to the bebe, Rog rubs his eyes and they talk about Alma being in la carcel, they are both worried about her, and Rog asks Pato to marry him sooner rather than later!
Chucho has a new job! He is becoming like M. Hercule Poirot, like a dog that won't let go of a bone, in other words, like a detective and Delia is going to have that device tested for substances. Chucho's theory is that it was full of some type of drug that knocked Alma out when she turned on the air conditioner. Chucho is also going to check around the pharmacy where Alma went, to see if anyone saw anything.
Domi and Pato are in the kitchen doing the baby bottle check, to make sure it isn't too hot, and Rog takes a pic of them and little Ferny. Rog wants an answer to his earlier question to Pato, she would love to but she just can't!!!!! You see, she just can't while Alma is in la carcel. She wants Alma to be her maid of honor, do her makeup you get the drift. Alma is all alone in that terrible carcel and Pato and Rog are sad.
After Alma is formally charged, Chucho calls Cyn to see if she'll help him out.
Pato is at work at the receptionist desk when Remigio notices baby spit up on her lapel. As she is cleaning that off her uniform, Rico Suave comes and Remigio and Gaspar try to stop him from coming in, but Pato talks to him and he tells her he's there see Cardy and to get his friends back and he says a phrase by Leo Tolstoy. She lets him go back. Cardy and Jessie are cooing at each other when Rico Suave comes in and wants to talk to Cardy. He tells Cardy he is there to get his friends back and Cardy surmises also his job. He'll have to talk to Rog about that.
Xochi and Ferny are at the gyno. She is the hardest working gyno in Monterrey. She was Alma's and Killeronica's too. Anyhoo, they are there to see if the rabbit done died so to speak. The Doc lubes up Xochi's tummy and there is one, wait two, no wait, stop the presses, there are five, count them five little buns in Xochi's little tummy, where are they all gonna fit? When they get the news Xochi is wow, and Ferny passes out. The Doc is flabbergasted herself.
Chucho has gone to the pharmacy and environs and he has a pic of Alma and is showing it around and asks people if anything strange happened on the date and time of the crime. Nopis, nothing! They didn't see Alma. Chucho prays for help.
There is a walk about with Alma and Teco and Alma is worried about Luisa and Teco's kids are with her Mama may her dead spouse rot in hell.
Pato and Chucho have a chat about Alma. Pato is very worried about her. Chucho goes to Rog's office and gets a call from Delia that yes, that device had drugs on it. Delia will try and do something for him, but it's really up to Suarez. Chucho tells Rog that Killeronica is responsible for Alma being in la carcel, he really believes she had a hand in Marta's death and Rog says that he beleives that Killeronica sent a henchie after Pato and had her stabbed!
Cyn calls Chucho back and he asks for her help with Killeronica to find out anything she can. Will she help? We'll get back to that in a tick.
Marcia has come to Chucho's place and at first Chatita is a little freaked out, but then says she is the good one, she has good vibes from Marcia. Marica is sad and riddled with guilt. There was some talk about Vodka and then whiskey on the rocks, yadda, yadda.
Xochi and Ferny are back at Avon. Xochi is talking about having to get five seperate things for the babies, like car seats, cribs, strollers (although they have the triplet ones now, she ought to call the Duggars, they could help her out, jus' sayin'). All the secretaries over hear but Xochi tells them all anyways and lots of hugs and congrats. Rog comes out of his office from all the noise, finds out the news about being a Tio, five times over, he is all like Que??? and hugs Xochi and calls her Sushi.
Chucho is still on the case, and sees a vendor from that same area and asks him about if he saw Alma that fateful night and asks about Alma's car. Well finally this guy can help him. He did see Alma passed out in her car and there were two guys parked next to her. One of the guys, the shorter one, got out of his car, opened the passenger door to Alma's car, then the driver's side, moved her to the passenger side, got into the driver's side and drove the car right out of there. They showed that Jaws guy still sitting in the other car. Chucho gets the guy to write his name and number down and tells the guy he is trying to save the woman he loves.
Cyn has gone to Killeronica's to get something on her. She has decided to help Chucho. She asks how Killeronica is. Well, she's great, a genius in fact and her mis planes are coming to fruition as a matter of fact, she is selling the house and buying another. Cyn asks to go to the loo, and Killeronica says sure, so Cyn goes into the hallway, sneaks into the basement and sees, guess what??? I am calling it the "Wall of Doom" and she is just freaked out. She takes a pic of it with her cell phone and about that time Killeronica is calling for her. Cyn hurries out of there and into the bathroom before Killeronica catches her.
Chucho goes to see Alma in la carcel. He tells her Luisa is fine, Val misses her and doesn't know she is in jail. Alma hates it in there, but Chucho tells her she may not be there long. She has some hope. He tells her about the case so far, his side of the case that is, finding the device, what that vendor said and that Delia is helping him. He wants Alma to trust him and assures her he will prove her innocence. Their love is indestructable they both say at the same time, besos for Luisa and Val. And a nice long beso for them between the prison bars.
Chucho and Delia bring that report to Suarez but he isn't on board. He has all the evidence he needs. Chucho also tells him what the vendor said.
Mala Suerte Commercial!
Alama and Teco are having another talk and she explains about not being married to Chucho, had his bebe and all about Killeronica.
Back to Suarez and Chucho and Delia and Suarez isn't buying the theory about the drugged Alma and the other guy at the crime scene. He is going on the evidence he has y punto! Delia tries to calm Chucho down, but Chucho yells at Suarez to do his job already! Chucho informs Suarez he is not gonna quit until he proves that Alma is innocent. Chucho demands the secruity camera disk from the warehouse. Suarez actually gets it and looks at it.
Xochi is still obsessing about the five seperate heaps of bebe things when she sees Rico Suave and asks how he is? He wants his friends back and his job. Rico Suave asks after Alma, every one is sad.
Pato calls Domi to find out how little Ferny is doing. Remigio overhears her talking about missing him and tells her she loves that bebe. Pato sort of denies but to herself she knows that she is in love with that little bebe.
Cardy goes to see Rog about Rico Suave getting his job back, not only does Rog say no, he means hellz noes y punto! Cardy gives Rico Suave the bad news, Mari is with him and he sobs. Rico thinks maybe Chucho can help, but he isn't there and he's only the second in command.
Julio and Aida in their attempt to do the deed, are desperate enough to go into Alma's empty office and get their freak on. Julio has shed his jacket and tie, the tie is around Aida's neck, Julio gets rid of some papers on a table and they are about to get it on, when Ruh, Roh, Rog comes in and interrupts that. They say third time's the charm, but in this case, nah not so much. Rog shakes his head at them and Julio hides behind Aida with a smirk of embarassment on his face.
Val comes home from school with Chucho and there is a PSA of washing of hands before touching of the bebe. There are germs out there ya know.
Alma back at the carcel isn't looking too well. Teco tells her she is way pale. Alma blames it on her not being able to eat and no sleep.
Delia has come by Chucho's and earlier Cyn did send Chucho that picture of the Wall of Doom which he now shows to Delia. She now knows for sure Killeronica had something to do with all this, but Suarez is the decider. They both look at that warehouse disk. They see the guy in the car with Alma get out and a blonde woman getting into the driver's seat, but her back is to the camera and they can't tell if it's Alma or not. I'll let you all debate it, but I think I know who that blonde woman is. Delia and Chucho are going to find out who that guy is. Also there is a recording of the woman, supposedly Alma that called Marta those umpteen times. It kinda sounds like Alma, but I don't think it is. Chucho is losing hope.
Avances:
Alma faints.
Chucho goes to confront Killeronica.
Killeronica visits Alma in la carcel.
Ms Julie will tell you all about it, manana. MUST SEE TV!
Labels: Manda
I'm trying to figure out why Marcia is still showing up, however briefly.
Suarez has a bit of a mala suerte vibe, doesn't he? but I think he's just playing the dumb cop to Chucho's "H. Poirot".
I got a little chill for Cynthia risking Killeronica's wrath by sneaking into the chamber to view the "wall of doom". But the rest of the episode had some sweet moments, especially Pato and Rogelio.
The quintuplet twist was funny.
Too bad the whole novela hadn't been a light murder mystery of some kind with an inspector Chucho.
Jarifa
Hahaha- mala suerte commercial , I couldn't stop laughing when I saw it.
Jesus is a one man police department. Why is Detective Shyster Suarez so complacent with circumstantial evidence? I was impressed with the witness who had excellent vision because he was able to give such a detailed description of what went on at a distance. Amazing, he was never questioned. And no one except for Jesus reviewed the surveillance tapes? Alma should be free by the end of the week.
It does seem that with all the evidence Chucho is gathering, it should result in Alma's freedom soon. I hope so. I don't mind if Vero is on the run till the last episode. It's just sad and depressing to have the heroine locked up at the end, when two children need her.
Wow! Quints! Can Xochi and Fer really handle that? They certainly need to get a bigger place now.
Could Vero have done something/given something to Alma during that visit to make her temporarily lose the ability to breastfeed? How did she know Alma would be leaving the house and going to the pharmacy when Alma had basically been shut in at home caring for the baby?
I'm on the fence about the quints...I mean maybe triplets would have still been funny. Maybe it's looking at that little person who is supposed to be incubating five little people....and they thought Alma needed bed rest?? I say Avon needs to open a corporate Day Care center soon.
Anyone else see an anvil over Cyn's head. So not feeling good about her helping Chucho now. And I agree, the only reason Suarez is being shown to be pig-headed is so that Chucho can be the ultimate hero. Yawn.
You know, I had to sort of agree that Rico shouldn't have expected to get his job back. Real world, you left the way he did from a company, security wouldn't have even left you in the door. But then we are in the Chuchoville alternate universe, so I'm sure our hero will convince Rog to take him back. Yawn.
Daisynjay
That was something she could or could not have done, depending...
Can you leave something like that to chance?
How did she know Alma was not going to call the pharmacy and ask for delivery?
Yeah, you're right... either she has a special gift, or people is becoming too predictable.
I fear for Cynthia, hope she gets out of Killeronica's house pronto. I always get a laugh out of women who sneak around in super high heels.
'Scuse me but quintuplets aren't funny. Twins are hard enough, triplets are a nightmare without a lot of help, quintuplets are absolutely impossible. I know people have done it...but it's not funny. Those early years are just a blur.
Like all your stalwart recappers, I'm counting the days till this is over. As far as I'm concerned, they could just limit the scenes to Pati, Rogelio and Val and I'd be happy. Can the rest!
Thanks again, Mads, you are truly amazing. And appreciated.
Filling up 181 episodes was a requirement he had in the contract, but that didn't specify the quality of the content, LOL!!
Jarifa
The writers were losing me with the deaths and behavior towards Val in this....I think they may have sealed it with this plotline if it goes where I think it's going.

Watched the last 10 minutes of PEAM. Alma is still in jail. Bummer.
OMG! Xochi with quints. She’s so little to carry so many babies.
I think it’s funny that Rog still calls her Sushi—though I did hear him call her Xochi once during a conversation they had in an ep last week.
I would think Pato would get a little tired of doing all the baby duties. She needs to get Rog to step up. But glad to know she loves the little stinker.
I’m liking Cynthia, now.
ITA w/Judy & Daisnjay - Xochi having quints is not funny.
Xochi's in for one hell-of-a cesarean, I don't think she is built for natural birth...even if it was only one.
Jesuss should moonlight as a Pvt. Investigator, he is the Magnum PI of Mexico. I wonder if any police dept. would really turn over surveillance tapes from a crime scene without a "freedom of information request"...plus why wouldn't the police try to contact the homeless man on the tapes...Oh, I'm sorry, this is all make believe...let me snap out of it....
OT
Judy B. we are down but not out, after Sunday's beatdown..NFC east is a mess, but that keeps our hopes alive.....Go'Skins
I saw an article in Spanish that Flaco took a look at and said it looks like SN will be in a TN next year with Ivan Sanchez (Wolfman from Tempestad--Hernan). So excited, if it's true. She's my fav.
The thing that SN and IS are in is a live play, not a TN. Vivi, I think mentioned it here on the board before she had gone on vacation. It would be great if they did a TN.
Thanks for all your lovely kind words. At least we have movement now with the plot as far as Chucho and Delia finding out what Killeronica has done.
Agree about the Xochi storyline and 5 babies. It wonder where they are all going to fit. Xochi is one tiny girl.
I hope Rico has learned his lesson and has to grovel a bit. He was so rude and nasty to everyone when he had all that money. I hope he now realizes the friends are worth way more than money and that Mari has been there this whole time for him.
Poor Aida and Julio. Nothing is working for them as far as doing the deed. I wonder why they haven't found a hotel room and done the deed there. Oh, wait maybe broken pipes or a fire might stop them there. Never mind ; )
With fertility treatments you are taking a chance. There is always the possibility of having more than one baby with them.
I knew of a woman ,when I was a kid, that had one baby, the next were twins and the next were triplets. I don't know if she was taking fertility treatments or not. She didn't have any more kids after the triplets.
Silvia Navarro and a few of the guys from La Tepestad will be touring Mexico in a Sam Shepard play starting November. The play is “Locos de Amor”, SN and Ivan Sanchez (Hernan) are the protagonists, and Alejandro Ibarra (Bagre) and Franky Martín (Lolo) are the supporting characters.
Here is the poster of SN and IS: http://twitpic.com/dgs315
Here is the poster with all four: http://twitpic.com/dgl8nn
Here they are just hanging out: http://twitpic.com/dh85jn
Article on the play: http://www.informador.com.mx/entretenimiento/2013/490158/6/silvia-navarro-e-ivan-sanchez-apuestan-por-locos-de-amor.htm
This is the schedule: http://twitpic.com/dh4wqh
The only thing we need right now, is that those five babies come out one of each race. They did that to Jessy anyway...
Can you see it? The plastic baby was black, so why not have a real one, and a red, white, yellow, brown?
I know, I know, I am crazier than the monkey...
If Ric is looking for a job, I bet Orion needs people.
Good question as to why Marcia is showing up now. Maybe she can help with the investigation somehow.
I don't think Vero knew Alma would dry up that night - I think she just had her guys watch Alma until an opportunity arose, and the opportunity happened to arise that night.
The original plan was probably just to kill Alma, but then Marta pissed Vero off and Vero saw a new opportunity to ruin both of them.
That's just a guess.
And I agree that quintuplets is not funny. In real life there would be a strong chance that not all five of them would make it.
As for tonight, I'm just grateful there's no baseball. I don't watch faithfully, but things usually get interesting around Game 6 or so. ;-)
However, our recappers continue to shine!
And our commenters too. I've decided the community is more important than the stories we watch.
I love reading all your opinions, and enjoy immensely how the different recappers meld a wandering mess into a cohesive whole.
I don't think the quints thing is funny, either. We've already had one character on bedrest forever. Xochi will surely be on bedrest before long, unless they decide to make this completely unrealistic (which could very well happen). Guess that's what happen when you take lots of fertility drugs without even taking some time to see if you can conceive without them, though. Didn't they only try for a few weeks before she decided she was infertile?
I know you can get a 4-kid stroller. There are some people in my neighborhood with quadruplets and I've seen it. It's probably possible to special order one for five, although it's unlikely all five would survive. I think this could tank Xochi's career, between the probably bed rest and the exhaustion from dealing with five babies.
Rog should step up and do more of the baby care. I thought he was supposed to be redeeming himself.
I would guess the thugs set Alma's AC on full blast while they were messing with the car, so that as soon as she started the car, she would get hit with it and pass out before she could do anything else. As to how they got her out of the house, I don't think Vero is that clever. She probably just had everything on standby, figuring Alma would be desperate for an outing, any outing, at some point. If nothing else, she seems committed to getting regular manicures. Even prison hasn't messed up her nails yet!
Julia, the way I see it, as far as the writers/monkeys/sloths/Octavio are concerned, Rogelio IS redeeming himself because he's applying himself at work. He's a man! That's how men redeem themselves! If Paty doesn't like it, she should count her blessings that she isn't bedridden and/or insane like so many of the women in this TN.
I am with your theory about what happened that fateful night. I think Mala Suerte was with Alma that night and things just clicked for Killeronica. She saw her chance and took it.
My theory is that the woman in the blonde wig is Killeronica, she must have driven the car back to Alma's apartment building and gotten a ride from her henchies from there. I also don't believe that voice on the phone was Alma's either. Either Killeronica doctored the voice mails or used some type of voice altering device and made it sound like Alma. I think Killeronica is guilty on both counts.
I am hating the previews of Killeronica going to the prison just to irritate Alma and gloat.
Flaco says the article he read said that SN would be doing a TN "after". He assumed it was after hanging at her restaurant, but it might have meant after the play has its run. Am I obsessing?
No, you aren't obsessing. We all have our favorites here and wonder when they are coming back. No worries : )
Nanette- LOL! We all have our faves, and SN is also one of mine. She hasn't posted anything on a new tn, and she seems to be taking a break from them-- concentrating on movies (one is in the can), her restaurant, her endorsement deals, her personal life, plays, and improving her craft. The play will be touring Mexico until mid Dec, and then will be in Mexico City for a longer run in the new year after the holidays.
I'll look forward to seeing her new movie. I still have to see the last one with Jorge Salinas. I did see an interesting one with her when I got a free weekend with Encore/Starz or HBO/Cine--not sure which. No subtitles, so I just watched her scenes. It was called Mujer Alabastrina (2006). FYI. There's a cool website that posts when cable/dish, etc. companies are having free preview weekends: www.freepreview.tv
Thanks for those pics on the play with Ivan and Silvia. I saw a little about this a few weeks ago. I love Sam Shephard plays--I own the full anthology. Admittedly not for everyone's taste, some can be very dark. True West is one of his simpler, less angst plays. The two main characters are basically the play, so the roles are taxing. I would so love to see both of these actors in this play.
As for the next possible TN, I thought Robo was a remake or rewrite of Amor Real? There's also La Madrastra hitting soon...though as much as I love Cesar Evora ( is that man in everything lately????), I am NOT a fan of Victoria Ruffo. Not sure what Tn goes where or if they will play one of their Univsion musical chairs games and switched up some other current shows.
Daisynjay
Vero will probably make a great impression on all the guards at the prison... too arrogant to realize that they will eventually be her keepers (unless one of her thugs kills her first).
No more pregnancies
No more hospital
No more jail
No more killings
No more kidnappings
No more crying
No more jumping on the bed!
I don't know if you have commented before, but welcome to Caray Caray and this crazy TN.
I understand why Chucho is trying to get Suarez to investigate, but shouldn't he and Alma's lawyer be gathering evidence for the trial? I would think that the evidence they already have would be enough to generate "reasonable doubt," but maybe cases don't have to be proven beyond a reasonable doubt in Mexico? (Or maybe this is just an extremely unrealistic depiction of the Mexican criminal justice system.)
Here, you're innocent until proven guilty, and
In México, you're guilty until proven innocent. weird, right?
