Corazon Indomable #120, 10/28/2013: Otra Vez, el Burro al Trigo!

The Old: Migreedy convinces JackAss to write a letter implying that he (JA) had a sexual relationship with Maricruz, when she was married to Tav, and get it post-dated. Tav threatens MC with taking away Lupita, if she’s raising their daughter in an unfit/immoral environment, while Engineer Moustache (aka Alvaro) listens unnoticed.

The New:
Tav continues to fight for the title of Worst Galan Ever by telling MC that due to her reduced circumstances she’s likely going to prostitute herself (not his exact words, but the spirit of them), and won’t be able to provide adequately for their daughter even doing that. Lupita will just be a burden and impediment to her, so MC should just give Lupita to him. (Alvaro slips out unnoticed.) MC insists she’s not living an immoral life, and WILL marry Engineer Alvaro, who has been nothing but supportive. Plus, she’s a free woman! They go back and forth for a while with many of the same arguments they used 60 episodes ago, when the odd man out was the Love Gov (e.g. Lupita is MY daughter, mine alone/I won’t let you raise my daughter in an unfit environment).  At the end, MC basically tells him over her dead body will she be separated from her daughter, and if he tries to take her away, she’ll kill him like the dog he is! (Please do!)

Migreedy and $imona plot the demise of the great love between Tav and MC. Once Tav has proof that MC is a whore, he’ll hate her. Bwahahaha! Later, when Tav comes home, $imona also ensures that what little affection Tav once had for her also dies, by nagging him about being with MC as he stomps up the stairs. “He was with her! With that damn savage!”

MC debriefs with Santa. She thinks Tav is bluffing about taking Lupita and is just jealous. She’s loving that his jealousy is tormenting him and not letting him live in peace. Santa doesn’t get it. She wonders if MC is thinking of forgiving Tav. “NEVER!” She also knows that Tav knows that she’ll never give up her child. And just where would he take Lupita? She doesn’t believe $imona would ever allow her (MC's) child in her house. Tav has no idea what awaits him if he tries to take her child.

$imona whines to Ofelia about MC. Ofelia tries to calm her down by reminding her that MC will be gone soon—kicked off her lands by the government. $imona isn’t so sure that it will be soon enough.

Upstairs Tav whines to Migreedy about MC. Migreedy tells him to stop making a scandal over a child he can’t even be sure is his. Tav shoots daggers at his bro with his eyes. They argue. Migreedy tells him he’s been an idiot to idolize MC the way he has.

Alvaro comes to visit MC. He lets her know he was there earlier, but saw she had a visitor and left. MC tells him it was a very unpleasant visitor, but Alvaro isn’t so sure. She continues to call him by his title, Engineer, and he wonders why she continues to keep a wall up between them with the formalities. (Maybe because you’re old enough to be her father, Alvaro?) When she finally calls him Alvaro, his moustache wiggles with delight. “You know something? I’m going to keep these last days in my memory as the happiest I’ve lived.” He’s shocked when MC says she will too, and half dimples him. He presses his marriage suit and she wonders if he’s starting THAT again. He jokes, “Otra vez el burro al trigo?...One day you’ll be my beloved wife, MC.” They head out arm in arm.

It must be the next day because MC is wearing a new outfit. She’s not wearing a mullet skirt! Instead, she’s wearing a long sleeved denim button down shirt, and a calf length black leather skirt with lacy cut-outs at the hem, and black ankle boots. She and Santa check in on Solita, who is still in bed, but happily wolfing down every piece of food they bring her. They agree that Solita wasn’t really sick, but just love sick (mal de amor). Since Perico Therapy was so effective, MC now thinks the unreliable lout should MARRY Solita! Santa isn’t so sure, considering he was just rolling around on the riverbank with Natrasha yesterday. She thinks he’s just helping Solita out of pity (lastima), and calls MC a romantic. Santa thinks it would be awful if Perico flip flopped again and left Solita.

They speak about having to leave the ranch soon. MC apologizes ahead of time for not being able to bring Santa with her.

Alvaro is meeting with some official guy (Valdez?) who tells him that the Rancho Abuelo folks, including the former Realengo crowd, have three months to vacate the land. Alvaro is shocked it’s so soon. Aren’t they aware of the case they've brought against them? Valdez doesn’t think they’ll win. “It seems that you’re on the side of these people.” “No, it doesn’t just seem like it. I am on their side.”

JA brings Migreedy the LETTER. Migreedy is happy with what he reads. “With this letter, Tav will be convinced that MC is worthless .” He gives JackAss the money, which he accepts happily, offering his continued services to make MC and Tav’s lives hell.

Natrasha tells her Nana that the Padre is actually converting her. She half facetiously says she’s like Mary Magdalen (La Magdalena) following her Teacher (Jesus).  Nana tells her not to joke about such things but Natrasha says she’s serious. In fact, she’s going to hang out with some poor people to paint them in all their miserable glory. Fun times!

MC has a sweet moment with Lupita as they look through a story book. MC’s thoughts wander to Tav and his threats to take away Lupita. She thought bubbles:

“Give you up to your father, my love? How utterly absurd! They’d have to kill me. And even then, after death, I’d continue to defend you. In any case, he’s lying. He’s doing it because he’s jealous. Look how I’ve finally found the way to torment him. Good! Let him suffer from jealousy the way I have suffered! Even if he didn’t love me the way he should, at least he loves me enough to not want me to be with someone else.  If he could only see within me. If only he could read my heart, the idiot. No, he’s blind. Completely blind.”

MC rouses herself from this long internal monologue and remembers she’s with Lupita.

Migreedy drops the LETTER in $imona’s lap. “When Tav reads it, he won’t have any doubts about the savage’s innocence.” Migreedy tells $imona to hold on to the letter until the right time. Migreedy wonders if $imona really wants Tav’s child in her house. All $imona wants is for Tav to hate MC, and for MC to disappear. This won’t happen if Tav still respects MC. Migreedy has evil thought bubbles about $imona dying, Tav stepping aside, and him (Migreedy) having the ranch all to himself!

Juanita interrupts the mommy and me time to tell MC that Alvaro has arrived. Today MC thinks she should give Alvaro his marching orders. Juanita wonders why, if he’s such a good man. Downstairs, Alvaro tells MC that the mining company is starting its work immediately. MC is shocked. Didn’t Alvaro say the process would take a year? He says it usually does take 1-2 years, then breaks the news that they’ll have to vacate the land in six months (hey, I thought Valdez said THREE months?).

MC feels the situation is hopeless. They are all lost! Alvaro tells her she has his love. Plus, they will pay her for the land—not what she paid for it, of course.

$imona tells Migreedy she is sure Tav has been leaving everyday to stalk MC.

Natrasha observes as the Padre conducts a baby christening in the river for some of the people in Realengo. She acknowledges to herself that it is a beautiful scene, and then prays, yes, PRAYS for inspiration to paint it! She finally goes to her canvass, and requests that the parents hold their baby (with the pixilated bottom and weewee, thanks Uni) bent over a rushing river for the 5 hours it will take her to paint them.

Alvaro makes his case as husband material again, and tells MC he’s there for her. He and life have broken down MC’s resistance. She says she’s tired of fighting alone, and seems to accept him as a suitor.

The next day (?), Migreedy walks through Rancho Abuelo lands and sees the demolition of the former Realengo folks’ homes (??) has already begun.

MC’s accountant is installed in the Rancho office, and tells Santa that Tav isn’t kidding about taking Lupita from MC. He thinks they should be vigilant and on guard about keeping an eye on Lupita. Santa agrees to tell the other ranch staff.

Ester is dressed better these days, but she’s still working hard. She’s got heavy chairs flipped over the couch, and is mopping the floor like a pro, all while wearing platform heels. I’m impressed! JackAss comes home, with his dirty boots, and tells her to hire a servant because he doesn’t like to see her work—he liked her better as a rich layabout. Since they are already living on charity at Simona’s place, she doesn’t see where they would get the money for a servant. She doesn’t recognize who JA is anymore. She used to suffer over his lack of love for her, but now she’s just worried about the bad example he’s setting for their son.

Migreedy reports to $imona about the current destruction of Rancho Abuelo. $imona rejoices that this means MC will be packing her bags and shoving off soon. Tav comes downstairs and declares that MC is NOT leaving with his daughter, and $imona’s going to have to accept that! He won’t let his daughter be raised by an irresponsible mother! (Oh, please! *rolling my eyes*)

MC tells Santa that they’ve brought the machines to destroy the ranch. What about the six months Alvaro mentioned? MC says they lied to him too. (Or maybe he’s deaf, because they clearly said three months.)

Tav continues to rant at Migreedy. He curses the gold found on Rancho Abuelo. Migreedy asks how he could say that about the thing that has built their country’s wealth (funny, seeing as neither of these actors is Mexican). Tav never cared about the ranch when it was theirs. He’s becoming a romantic with age.  They would have lost the ranch anyway, if they still owned it. Plus, now he has better lands. “Miguel, they’re Simona’s lands.” “Yeah. But she’s going to die soon. And you’ll become the absolute owner.” Tav looks at his bro like he’s crazy. Migreedy’s eyes light up with peso signs as he advises Tav to just keep $imona happy in her last days to ensure he gets a fat pay day when she dies. Tav is not happy speaking about $imona’s demise, and he sure as heck doesn’t want to be any more emasculated than he already has to keep $imona happy. Migreedy says he’ll soon find out how MC has made a fool of him all this time.

Upstairs, $imona asks Ofelia where they can shove Lupita once she arrives. Miguel and Miguelito are in two of the guest rooms, and the other is far away, cold and being used for storage. (Wasn’t there another one that Tav was sleeping in?) Ofelia suggests that Lupita share a room with her brother, Octavito. Hell no! Simona is not down with that idea. Lupita will NEVER be viewed at the same/equal level as Octavito. Simona decides Lupita will share a room with Miguelito. She doesn’t care if Miguel doesn’t like it.

Some guy with an ascot and a moustache (ah, Morales) arrives to tell MC about her imminent eviction. She says they’ll fight. He says the gov/mining company is bringing in armed reinforcements to squash any rebellion from the former Realengo people. MC says she and Alvaro are feeling optimistic about their case. They’ll fight tooth and nail for their rights! (Atta girl, MC!)

Solita’s long lost mommy tries to break into Wheelchair Grump’s huge safe with a combination she’s written down. She tries over and over again, and fails. Grumpy rolls in and gloats that he changed the combination. Bwahahaha! The only reason he’s not reporting her to the police for trying to rob him is because he doesn’t want anyone to know she’s his wife, and he also doesn’t want to bring shame on the Ponce family name. He wonders if she’s trying to get cash to pay off some man. (Go to plan Plan B, honey! Or should I say Plan M…for Murder???)

Tav tells $imona that his father must be rolling in his grave, with all those machines destroying his land. He’s also worried about the people being kicked off the land. $imona thinks he means his daughter, when he says “people.” (And that would be bad, because?) He doesn’t want another man coming and taking his daughter. $imona tells him to forget Lupita-- she will give him another daughter (to replace Lupita). (I just can’t with these characters.) Tav says he’s worried about his daughter being treated like a second class citizen by a stepfather who will give preferential treatment to his own children. (How about a stepmother who already hates her, Tav?) $imona says the ONLY sensible thing she has said this whole episode- MC, and her mother’s love, wouldn’t let that happen. Tav thinks that MC is so in love that she would do whatever Alvaro ordered. $imona suggests that Tav speak to Alvaro and convince him to convince MC to give him Lupita. Tav likes the idea, but within one sentence flip flops his stance and now claims that MC isn’t really in love with Alvaro, but is just accepting him because of the dire circumstances. $imona rolls her eyes and wonders out loud what would happen if she showed him something that proved how false MC is. She tells him to go speak to the Engineer first, without violence. She tells him she loves him, and his happiness is all she desires.

Alvaro is meeting with the accountant, who hands him a letter delivered to the ranch for him. They’re his orders to begin working with the other engineers on the mining site, despite the pending case. They both feel sad for how this news will affect MC.

Tav finds Alvaro out in the fields consulting with other engineers. He gets right to the point and tells Alvaro he wants him to convince his ex-wife to give him their daughter. Nice! Alvaro gives the idiot a signature Sergio Goyri badass look.

Miguel finds Ofelia in Miguelito’s room preparing the crib for Lupita. He’s not pleased.

Alvaro tells Tav that MC’s daughter will be treated as if she were his own child. Tav says Lupita is HIS daughter and he wants her with him. Alvaro is trying to talk sense to the single brain celled dolt and explains that Tav is married with a child, while Lupita is all MC has in the world.

T: Can’t she have more children with you?
A: If we get married, that’s very possible.
T: Look, I can give my daughter everything she needs. And above all, I can provide for her well being.
A: She’ll be better off by her mother’s side, than anywhere else. If she (MC) marries me, I guarantee you she (Lupita) will be like a daughter to me. The first, the eldest.
T: That’s IF you get married. But would you really marry a woman like MC?

Alvaro, who has not been part of this madness long enough to understand that Tav only has one brain cell, is open-mouthed impactado at this insulting comment coming from MC’s ex-husband. He tries reasoning with Tav once again, and gives him his word of honor to marry MC immediately if she accepts him. Tav, who doesn’t know the meaning of honor, instead accuses MC and Alvaro of living immorally, in sin on the rancho. “In my presence you will not offend MC. I will not allow it!” Tav continues to flap his stupid trap, so Alvaro winds up and punches him in his stupid face. YES!!! He blocks a punch from Tav and gives him another sock in the gut before Tav lands one right hook to his jaw. The other men finally rush in and separate them before Alvaro can put a really good beat down on the one celled jerk.

Avances: Not a lot of new info. Alvaro makes more declarations of love and protection to MC for her and her daughter.

Vivi Thanks for an excellent recap. I had to turn this one off mid-way. too much same old same old. I am ready for something else to break the monotony. I hope this isn't the tone for the rest of the series. I would even welcome SUD at this point. Emir where are you with all your money???

Vivi, I really enjoyed your description of the final scenes with Tav and Alvaro. Also, the Natrasha scene painting the river baptism. Yep, just hold that pose for a few hours. Bending down with a baby in your arms will only cramp a few muscles, plus your back!

I guess it's petty to rejoice that MC was wearing a skirt with a normal hemline. We have to take our pleasure where we can find it, as the CI madness swirls around us.

That was my anonymous comment. Don't know why it did that...

Vivi, thanks for the great recap.

You think she would have learned from her own experience but no Mari Cruz almost planning the wedding of Solita and Perico was too much. Looks like hasty marriages are still the "cure all."

Vivi, it probably was going to take Natasha 5 hours to paint the baptism in the river. I kept wondering why she didn't jusy take a photo but again that would be too pragmatic.

Lastly, it was good to see a fist fight between those two: Octavio and Alvaro. Just was too short.

Vivi:

Excellent recap. Loved your side comments and the title too!

Why hasn't Tav knocked MiGreedy on his tush yet? He sees the gleam of the money in MiGreedy's eyes and he is constantly talking about $imona's demise. Tav really doesn't have a clue!

I think $imona would treat Lupita badly if she came to live with Tav. I don't like this at all. For once Ofelia is right!

I think Tav finally realizes he could lose MariCruz forever and he can't stand it. I think he always thought she would be near, like on the Isla Dorada, or at the ranch. Now he won't know where she is going or what she does and it is driving him crazy.

JA and MiGreedy need their anvils it is way past time!

Vivi, you are a master at making something out of nothing. I'm with emeraldrose and just switched off after awhile, then came in at the very end for previews. Just the same old same old. I felt like yelling "oh just get on with it"...it being a plot!

Except for Alvaro and Solita (who we forgive for her behavior being she's living with Miss BackandForth), I've never watched a TN where you want to strangle, slap silly or just plain lower the anvil on so many people---and I'm talking about the protagonists! But I guess I'm a glutton for punishment and will keep tuning in and reading the recaps to just see how the RatPack writes this on out.

Still don't get the character of Latrasha. Wait a waste of air time.

Daisynjay

Good morning amiguis!

Believe me, I also found myself getting bored this episode and my mind drifted off many times. I did download four new songs in my iPod while watching. :)

I cheered and jumped from the couch when Alvaro punched Tav. He had it coming this whole episode. Now, can we order up a few punches or slaps upside the head for Migreedy and JackAss? I vote for Alvaro to go around doing the honors.

@Vivi - great recap, as always. Thank you so much for taking over my recapping duties last night, and practically at the last minute. I am eternally grateful. And I'm so looking forward (NOT!!) to recapping #125 next Monday.

Latina- No problem amiga. I hope you get your cable back soon. In any case, I'm still on vacation till the end of the week, and have been filling my days with lunches and dinners with friends. It was good to get the brain working again by recapping.

"I vote for Alvaro to go around doing the honors."

I'm all for that!! Got my vote. Who's going to mess with Sergio when he lowers that glare and let's her rip? Engineer? I say make the man sheriff in them there hills. Our true hero!

Daisynjay

The last part of fotos. More then 2000, but i think that they are worth of watching.
http://www.flickr.com/photos/97310172@N06/page1/
In this episode Alvaro said one thing that puzzled me. As I saw all the episodes I forget about a lot of things, but here in recap I read that words, that later will be important. No spoilers.
And talking about spoilers. I think that in Mexico they kept the interes by informing that some characters will return. I hope my words are not a spoiler. But I was realy intrigued.
Alegria

Thanks for the link Alegria, and the promise of some old characters returning. I'm not sure that it will improve this mess, but might shake things up for an episode or two. I think I'd prefer to just see Alvaro channel Rosendo (say my name, say my name) Gavilan and whup everyone's ads for the next 40 episodes.

That's ass, not ads. Tablet is as puritanical as Uni.

Wow, what a stunner of an episode. Can things get more disjointed? Of course they can. I loved the comment of the pixated naked baby painting. That made me lol.

I'm so confused and I don't even care for clarity. Simona was to pay JA money to watch Tav and report if he has ever seen MC, and by my count, he's seen her at least 3 times and JA never noticed. And now the letter that Tav hasn't seen yet. And Natrasha having a revelation, Tav taking Lupita somehow, Perico having a revelation about Solita, the lawyer threatened the engineering company about a lawsuit seems to have disappeared, 3 months vs 6 months to get off the land, Simona was dying and now seems ok, and on and on.

"Tav has no idea what awaits him if he tries to take her child." This just struck me as a possible plot development, except Lupita is a little young.

In the "Ransom of Red Chief" story, kidnappers take a boy for ransom. He's such a hellion that he completely wears out the bad guys and they are happy to return him.

I can see Lupi making life miserable for everyone at Rancho Simona, possibly.

Carlos, laughed at your vision yesterday of Perico managing a Taco Bell.

Great recap, Vivi. Well done.

So some characters are going to to return? I vote for Doris. She gave us some of the best scenes of this show.

Poor Lupita, what an image she must have of her daddy. Maricruz seems to be filling her mind with poison, and how many times has he actually seen and held her since she was born?

I cracked up at your description of the baptismal scene. From what I've seen of her artistic abilities, I don't have a lot of hope for this painting, but I do think she should consider writing a novel or at least a short story, My Summertime River Adventures. Maybe illustrated.

Somehow I get the feeling that Alvaro is being used as a pawn much like the Luv Guv and he is similarly self-delusional.

Which character or characters would the rest of you like to see return?

Carlos

Ok, I won't say who will return and when, but we all knew that.
I wish to return a some goome person. Tobias or Raiza. Now we have soooo many vilains. And nothing positive for protagonists. It is hard to watch. I don't understand, why Romero decided that it is the best way to enlarge novela. Everyone were asking for romantic scenes. I dont think, that relationships between MC and Tav now are romantic. And I cant imagine how they can end up together.
Alegria

Alegria- I agree. The writers should have used these last 20 episodes to build the bridge between Tav and MC, to finally strengthen their relationship so that when the happily ever after comes, it would be somewhat believable. Instead of the Alvaro character, they should have had Tav take on this role, working by MC's side to fight the miners and the gov, even if they couldn't be together as a couple because he's married to $imona who's dying. At this point, he should not be easily led by any stupid plot to malign MC's character, like Migreedy’s insinuations and the LETTER.

Comparing Tav to another knuckle-headed/oblivious galan, Carlos' least favorite, Jero from CME, he comes up WAY short. LONG before this point, after he realized what an idiot he had been, he was already working behind the scenes to save the heroine's family from ruin and help her any way he could at every turn.

Vivi in DC, 20? 40!!!
Alegria

Oops! I did mean 40, not 20. :) Freudian slip? Wishful thinking?

"Since Perico Therapy was so effective, MC now thinks the unreliable lout should MARRY Solita! Santa isn’t so sure, considering he was just rolling around on the riverbank with Natrasha yesterday."

Well put, Vivi. Man this story is such a train wreck right now. Delighted though to hear that we are getting some vintage Sergio Goyri killer looks and some well-deserved punches as well. And I'd be delighted if Univision would take their cruel scissors to this like they're doing to la Tempestestad but no such luck.

Carry on valiant recappers! We hate the story (some of us anyway) but love the with and wisdom in how you summarize it).

Vivi this was a great recap. I particularly enjoyed your suggestion for Plan M. If only it could be extended to more characters like your earlier plot to take down people when the gang was at the casino.

The fight sounds like the best thing that happened.

I would vote for Tobias and other good guys as Alegria suggested.

Gees, characters get to come back? I think I would just like some closure on a few? If they sold the mansion, where did Tobias go for all his years of loyalty? if the casinos went belly-up, what happened to Raiza. Did she mis-managed or get thrown to the curb by the dishonest employees?

Teo went to work for Karim and hopefully win back his kingdom....sooooooo?????

As for Eduardo and Ara--they should stay away. My guess is they are our only working, sane couple right now and the bad waters of the Rancho region may wreak havoc on that.

And did anyone ever take Doris to her happy place? I think it would actually be a scream to have her show up and go face to face with Simona. I vote for Doris on the take-down.

Daisynjay

Daisynjay- The casino in Isla Dorada and the staff there are fine. MC sold her part before she left, so it wasn't part of the empire she lost later after she returned to the ranch and mismanaged her father's hard earned empire.

Daisynjay- And to further clarify, Karim is the one who bought MC's share of the casino and Teo will be managing it on his behalf, with Raiza. It wasn't clear what Karim would be doing with his time and how he was planning to win back his throne.

I would love to have some closure with Tobias. His loyalty deserves something. Carola is too long gone to affect the plot in any way. Doris would certainly have fun stirring up trouble wherever she went, and it would be great to see her become a pain in the backside for $imona.

Vivi---I didn't turn it off mid-way
I turned it up. Great show and a great recap.
Vivi---I must say that you are a master of making a GREAT SHOW even GREATER. What a lovely 60 minutes of airtime last night, I didn't miss even one minute of it.
I loved your line ---Migreedy's eyes light up with peso signs.

So the UN-LOVING, UN-CAREING, UN-FIT mother Maricruz is going to fight for her daughter. How can that be when she is such a cold un-caring and totally un-loving mother. I didn't know that before but I learned that here. Well, even with a fake letter, Tav is going to have a fight on his hands from that TERRIBLE UN-FIT mother Maricruz.

And speaking of fights---I loved it last night. Old Mustache is not going to take it from young boy One Cell. Blows to the face and no black eye, no bruises, not even a red mark? Where was the make-up department?

Univision's censored naked baby---
At my former company, we had a marketing account with AT&T. They were running a advertisement promotion for a new product. In the promotion was the back side of a naked baby. The baby was standing with outstretched arms and the caption read "Hello World"
The baby belonged to the Project Manager from our company and she was so proud of her little one and also proud that he was chosen to be in the new AT&T promotion. Hundreds of thousands of copies were made but---they all had to be scrapped. Why?? Some big executive
high up in the AT&T ranks had the advertisement pulled over fears of a lawsuit. What would that lawsuit be you ask, The fear of possibly promoting child pornography. Thousands od dollars down the drain on that add campaign. I'm sure that Univision is afraid of the same thing, so hazed out baby parts.
the gringo

Some characters coming back?
I've been thinking that for a long time. It just makes sense.
the gringo

Gringo- Glad you enjoyed it. My favorite part of the episode was the fight at the end.

MC has been saying she will fight to keep her daughter since the beginning. These aren't new words from her. In fact, all of these fights between Tav and MC are rehashes of what we've heard from them before (hence the title). I think the two of them like fighting (over other women, other men, land, Lupita, anything!), more than being together.

The US doesn't seem to be consistent about the naked babies thing. I have seen plenty of naked baby bottoms in tv and print ads. Not sure why they decide to play it super safe sometimes and other times not.

Carlos...I am getting in line for the vote for The Return of ShutupDoris...or DrunkDoris, who was a fun ride. I love Ingrid. She can bring the cracra as well as the sweet young thang she played in Amor Real.

I would also read Natrasha's novel/story. ...with illustrations. She evidently is a plein air artist and likes to paint in the great outdoors. perhaps, an alternate title to her tale might be "what I Did on my summer vacation." Her epiphany was moving...in fact, I moved right away...surfing back to the Voice and DWTS ( Snooki was voted off...and I was just starting to warm to her ..she is quite the spunky dancer..who knew...but I digress.)

Do you really think that Perico is up to managing a Taco Bell...even a smallish one ? I could see a lot of orders getting screwed up or Perico changing his mind a lot concerning menu offerings and specials, hirings and firings, and such.

I was happy to see Alvaro finally taking names (1. Oblivio) and kicking ass. keep going, Alvaro. There a whole bunch of guys who need an asskicking...start with MiGreedy and jackAss.

I cheered and jumped up and down when Alvaro- how awesome is he? punched Octavio- who had it coming! Here is a man telling him that he will treat his daughter as his own and insead of thanking the gods above that Maricruz found a good guy Octavio acts like a total jerk! He soooooo deserved his beat down!

does anyone remember the novela in which the recappers finally started using the phrase "So-and-so's lines" because the characters were just saying the same lines over and over and over....?

I would like to see Tobias again. He was one of the only truly good guys in this whole mess.

I wish Alvaro was local. I have someone who needs a good punch...just sayin'.

Susanlynn- I'm actually worried about them bringing a good character like Tobias back, because the writers wouldn't fail to ruin him somehow. They are not good at many things, but they are good at making most of their characters hateful.

Vivi...You are so right, I am afraid for Alvaro who currently seems strong and responsible. yikes...please do not mess with his ethics. The priest and Tobias are the only two guys who haven't drunk the Koolaid. I need at least ONE hero with a shred of moral fiber.

Thanks Vivi--I missed some of this TN in those mid-sections. Would still like to see Raiza though. She seemed such a voice of reason.

As for Teo and Karim...who knows. I would get the giggles with Teo and Karim lounging around in those nice robes, few harem wives, realizing they dodged the bullet with MC and all her angst after all.

What happened to Tobias just makes me more miffed than anything. After all those years he gets what? RatPack and Moctavio really messed up that possibility. (Solita sure could have used him around.) My guess is the contracts all ended and those actors were smart and bailed for the next exciting extended part of the TN.

Daisynjay

Daisynjay, I hope it is not a spoiler to say, that they keep intrigue not only by saying who will return on the boat, but also by saying what new famous actor soon will play. It was realy VERY popular show in Mexico, so Natalie even for a few episodes invited famous actors and they all were very happy to be in this show.
As for the "old" cast. You could see them on this foto http://i49.fastpic.ru/big/2013/0805/46/7b9cc3c328506ae0d470e48f36bdf146.jpg
Or this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N0DkqYiQiuc
It's fiesta, that Ana Brenda with her husband organized for cast and production of novela. In the air in Mexico were episodes from the last week. So everyone looked very pleased.
Alegria

Alegria- Great video. AB looks happy with her new hubby. Nice to see some of the cast. Patricia Rojo (Raiza) has her own cute baby girl.

Vivi in DC, as far as I remember, she has 2.
Few more fotos.
Everyone liked Lupita

Alegria

Alegria, who's the boy in the last photo?

The letter José Antonio wrote is apparently a letter to Maricruz telling her that he is going to work for Simona because after having boinked her he realizes that she was not really seriously interested in him and because now that she's starting up with Alvaro he needs to leave before he does something that will land him in jail.

I have lots of problems with the whole letter idea but why the need for a stamp and a postmark?

By the way, Ester seems to have done rather well teaching him spelling and grammar but the way he prints individual letters needs a little work.

Carlos

cathyx, it's the son of Rafael Amador (Tobias)
Alegria

Who knows..maybe jackAss will write a whole series of letters to various and sundry people and publish it under the title "Letters from a JackAss." He and Natrasha can go on a book tour together.

After the way Alvaro defended MC 's against OBlivio's insults was inspiring. I do not care that he is old enough to be her father. Marry him , Mari. He is the best hombre we've seen so far. I enjoyed the punch. Would you like a tea sandwich with that punch , Oblivio?

And to think we could have avoided all of this mess if MA had just married the governor.

Vivi, wonderful.

I too was jumping with joy when Tav received his punch. How can this guy so insult the mother of his daughter. He's definitely out!

I don't care if MC ends up alone in the end, I think "and SHE lived happily ever after" would be fine with romantic old me.

And so "the Perils of Pauline" continue.....

Thanks so much Vivi. It's wonderful to read another of your recaps!

Me too - cheering at the Tav punch. He's so obnoxious. Other than Rod at the beginning, I can't remember a "galan" they've made us hate more.

I agree, Madelaine, Tav is going BSC because he see's Maricruz slipping away. As long as she lived unmarried within his reach, for a few clandestine visit, he was OK with his home situation.

I'm so tired of the repetitive bass riff they keep playing for Miguel's plotting. And his Argentinian accent - enough!

BTW, thanks to your kind comment, CorgiMom. I am a late sleeper and usually do a lot of things the whole day. And so I go to my blog last minute. I enjoy reading everything and the exchanges delight me all the time. My favorite tns are AB, Teresa, and Refugio. My favorite recappers are all of the recappers.

Natasha could title her illustrated novel/short story, NOT "What I Did This Summer," But "WHO I Did This Summer!" (Well, except for the Padre)

Doesn't El Stupido (Tav) realize that he can't just "take" his daughter? He gave up his parental rights, and if he takes her, he can be arrested for kidnapping and Simona for aiding and abetting. Oh, that's right (slaps forehead) silly me, this is a telenovela!

Anonymous...yes....I agree that "Who I Did This Summer" would be a more accurate title for Natrasha's epic novel.

What happened to the CI recap for Oct 29?

I'm wondering the same....

I was worried a moment that it was my turn, but I do tonight's episode. I'm not sure whose turn it is tonight. I think Jardinera did last weeks.

Ok, I just checked, it should be Jardinera's unless she got a sub.

Holly shit, I love this blog. It's so entertaining.
Nice work u sweet and inteligent girls ;) Biiig Liike !!!

Nice recap! I enjoy this more than actually watching the real episodes
