La Tempestad Cap #77. November 12th 2013. Repeat After Me: "They All Warned You Marina But You Didn't Listen!"
Ep #115 and #116 were combined tonight. Scenes out of order. No color combination tonight since I did a lot of combining to make the recap flow better.
Ep #115
Fully Confesses His Love
Magda and Marina can't quite understand Fully's concern for their mother. Fully questions them about Claudio. Magda responds: "He's a friend of my mother's". Fully confesses his unrequited love for Mercedes. It was unrequited because Mercedes loved Michel Fabre. Fully excuses himself and leaves.
On La Tempestad:
The bullet is removed and Bagre disinfects the DamWound. While DamFab is in pain, over in viewerville we can't help but enjoy the view of his DamFineAbs.
DamFab tells Bagre and Lolo about Marina's marriage to Hernan. They are so impactados with the news they each chug down some booze. DamNeedsSomeBoozeToo wants some booze too and is given some to chug down. DamFab tells Bagre and Lolo that Marina was forced into marriage with Hernan. DamFab will plan his next step. He'll rescue Marina and his daughter without putting them at risk. He'll lay low so Hernan thinks he's DamDead. That way Hernan will be taken by surprise with his return.
There is a lot of back and forth with this: DamFab wants to rescue Marina and his daughter. He could care less about the DamWound. DamFab doesn't want the DamWound checked on while the crew insists it get checked on. This goes on for several scenes until DamFab FINALLY agrees to the DamWound getting checked on.

Mercedes has survived. The operation was not a simple one.
Marina FINALLY talks
Marina tells Claudio that Hernan murdered DamFab. Hernan sees Marina talking to Claudio.
Operation Mercedes Part II
Doc SansSupenders comes out and gives the family the 411 on the operation. If Mercedes does not react how they hope they'll have to operate again. However, Mercedes' heart might not resist the anesthesia and she could suffer a heart attack.
Insufferable JazLu/Laz/Abi Storyline
Viewerville Screams At Their TV's: Make This Storyline Stop Please!
We are disgusted by the storyline too, Candy!
Laz is sad. Who cares? Abi wants to be his shoulder to cry on. She convinces him to go someplace else where they can talk. Guess who happens to see them? Yep. It's JazLu. When will this madness end...
Laz and Abi are over at La Guacamaya. He whines about it hurting him to think JazLu gave birth to Fully's spawn. Abi understands how he feels. Candy overhears and chews Laz out for believing such crap about JazLu.
Well, Laz has reasons to believe it:
1. His mother told him it was true.
2. JazLu accepted a home from Fully.
3. JazLu named the baby after Fully.
Methinks these aren't good reasons especially #1. Really Laz? You are going to believe your mother who you know is a venomous snake.
Candy doesn't think its fair what Laz is doing to JazLu. First he cheats on her now he doubts her. Candy recognizes Abi. Turns out Abi worked at some dive and embezzled Candy's clients. Laz is impactado.
Abi explains to Laz: She became an orphan as a child; she fell into the hands of a white slavery organization; she hopes to find a man who will love her. She thinks that man is Laz. She wants to be his friend. She'll leave him alone if he works things out with JazLu. Laz accepts Abi's friendship. They leave. Candy sees them and shakes her head in disgust.
Later on, Candy tries to convince JazLu to work things out with Laz. But stubborn JazLu still can't forgive him.

Mercedes and Her Daughters
Mercedes wakes up. Magda and Marina go in to see her. A lot is said. Basically, they've both realized how wrong they've been with their treatment of Mercedes. They call Mercedes "Mama". They will all live together as a family. Mercedes mumbles "the evidence, the evidence." Marina and Magda have no idea what she means. Doc SanSuspenders comes into the room. He'll have to sedate Mercedes because her heart can't get unsettled.
Jose and Rebeca
Rebeca has laid her head down on Jose's manly chest. He wakes up. She tells him she can't live without him. She tells him she loves him. When he recovers she wants to get married and form the family he's always wanted. He thanks her for corresponding to his love.
He asks about Mercedes and Rebeca gives him the 411. He tells Rebeca he's sure Hernan hired the hit on them to prevent Mercedes from showing the evidence she found against him. Evidence proving he's involved in dirty businesses.
DamFab At Both Hospitals
I'm going to kick your EuroTrash butt, Hernan!
The DamWound is checked on. Corrupt Doc wants DamFab to rest but DamFab has stuff to do and a EuroTrash butt to kick. Bagre informs DamFab about the hit on Mercedes. Bagre also informs DamFab that Marina is at the other hospital. DamFab storms over there forgetting his plan to lay low and surprise Hernan.
As expected, DamFab runs into Hernan at the other hospital. DamPissed glares at Hernan. Hernan is impactado. He signals the gun he has in the back of his pants and signals DamFab to keep quiet. DamPissed is ready to kick some EuroTrash butt. He storms on over to Hernan but the coward has fled.
Hernan forces Marina to leave with him in front of Magda.
DamFab goes looking for Marina in Jose's hospital room. Magda comes in informing them about Mercedes mumbling something about some evidence. Jose tells them Mercedes was referring to the evidence against Hernan. Jose tells DamFab about the fake wedding he planned for Marina and Hernan. DamFab and Magda go in search of the evidence still in the van. Rebeca calls Jose "my hero". Awww.
DamFab has the evidence. He'll give it to Robles. He's sure Hernan hired the hit on Mercedes. Fully overhears and wants to kill Hernan with his own two hands because Hernan tried to harm Mercedes.
Hey Mom! Guess What? I Married Hernan
Marina who obviously has yet to grow some brains tells Bea who can barely speak, move, or do anything to protect her that she married Hernan and now she'll have to live with him. Marina tells Bea that Hernan murdered DamThoughtToBeDead. She'll have to live with Hernan so as not to put her family at risk. She'll come up with a way to free herself from Hernan. She puts Bea's hand on her forehead and Bea gives Marina her blessing.
Robles and DamFed
DamFed has given Robles the evidence he needs to put Hernan's EuroTrash butt behind bars forever.
Fully's Getting Ready To Go Hunting For Some EuroTrash Butt
Your EuroTrash butt is about to be hunted, Hernan!
Fully foolishly lets Ursula know his hunting plans and that the Feds are hot on Hernan's trail because they have the evidence they need against him.
Claudio Visits Pester
Claudio out of all places looks for DamFab over at Pester's. Really Claudio? I sure hope this isn't the first place you've gone to look for him. Pester hasn't seen her DamFineHubby. Why she wouldn't even know if he'd died."El Capitan Fabre muerto jamas!" says Claudio. He asks her what she knows about Hernan and Marina's marriage. She doesn't have a clue but thanks him for the news. Claudio leaves. She's pleased to find out about the marriage.
Mercedes Has A Dream
Mercedes has a dream where Marina is waving goodbye to her.
Home Sweet Home...NOT
Marina arrives at her new home. She wants to sleep in a separate bedroom from Hernan because she needs time to get used to the marriage. He'll give her time but not much. He forces a kiss on her. She's disgusted. He leaves the room. He thinks Marina is his and she'll love him now that he'll kill DamHasMoreLivesThanACat.
Ursula calls up Hernan and warns him about Fully and Feds being after his EuroTrash butt. She tells him Marina must have betrayed him. He recalls Marina speaking with Claudio. He totally freaks out. He calls out for Marcelino. He wants to flee and he'll take Marina and her daughter with him. Marina refuses to leave. Hernan slaps her. He thinks she betrayed him. Near the front door, Hernan snaps at Marina because the baby is making him very nervous with her crying. He lets her go to prepare the baby's bottle. He goes outside. Pester arrives. He tells Pester to get lost. Marina comes out. Pester congratulates her on her nuptials with Hernan. Marina tells her DamCouldBeDead. Pester is like WTH.
Feds and Fully Are After Hernan's EuroTrash Butt
I'm all ready to hunt some EuroTrash butt!
Meanwhile, DamFed and Feds are driving on over to Hernan's pad. DamFed wants the driver to drive faster. Robles promises him that tonight Hernan will sleep in the slammer.
Little does Hernan know but Fully has positioned himself at a good distance from Hernan's pad. He's all ready to shoot Hernan but Pester is in his way. When Pester moves, Fully shoots.
Ep #116
Fully Can't Aim (No Pun Intended)
Fully misses. Hernan flees. Fully lets Pester know he tried to kill Hernan. The cops are almost there. Fully and Pester leave.
Marcelino Realizes He Shouldn't Have Worn White Today
I knew I shouldn't have worn white today!
DamFed and Feds raid Hernan's pad. Hernan is nowhere to be found. Feds pull out their guns at Marcelino who gets scared and realizes he shouldn't have worn white. Marcelino tells them Hernan fled. DamPissed is umm pissed to find out Hernan slapped Marina. Robles tries to calm him down. DamFed points his gun at Marcelino demanding to know all the details about Hernan's escape.
DamFed and Robles search the pad. They come upon the Marina Mannequin. DamFed thinks Hernan is a sicko. Robles tells DamFed he's seen cases like this before. He tells DamFed that Marina and his daughter are in grave danger.
They All Told You So, Marina!
Marina's iPhone rings. Hernan throws it out the window. He tells her that she'll never see her family again. Hernan pays off the driver and tells him to get lost. He'll be driving now. Marina attempts to escape and Hernan catches her. He takes the baby from her arms and hits her on the back of the head with the gun. She falls unconscious into the van. Hernan takes out a baby seat from the trunk.
The Chase Begins
Shoo Shoo Shoo! Hahaha!
Feds have tracked down Marina's iPhone. DamFed runs on over to his jeep and leaves despite being told not to go alone.
Hernan is forced to stop due to a herd of sheep crossing the road. He gets out of the van and shoos them in a manically way. Hernan spots the yellow jeep and knows DamFed is on his trail.
There is a lot of dust on the road. DamFed can't shoot at Hernan because he doesn't know where Marina is in the van. Hernan fires some shots hitting the jeep. Hernan has gotten out of his van and waits for DamFed's jeep. More shots are fired at the jeep and DamFed is forced to go up a small slope. Hernan laughs manically, gets back in van, and drives off. DamFed gets out of the jeep. There is blood on the bandage. The DamWound has opened. He has lost Hernan.
Ursula Is Pissed
Fully gives Ursula the 411 on what happened over at Hernan's pad. Fully hopes she did not betray him. She denies having warned Hernan. Pester mentions that Marina and Hernan are now married. When Ursula is in Pester's old room, she shows us that she's pissed over Hernan's marriage to Marina. She now wants to help take down Hernan.
Delfina Has A Surprise Planned For Fully
Delfina has changed her will and gloats in satisfaction over Fully being left penniless upon her death. She hides her will in the safe.
Ursula Is Summoned & She Makes A Threat
Ursula is summoned to give a statement regarding Hernan down at the station. She leaves to go for a walk yeah thats right a walk. Of course her walk leads her to Marcelino who she threatens. He better not talk or else. Poor Marcelino really shouldn't have worn white today!
Operation: Kill Delfina
Basically, Fully believes he'll be the new Big Boss. I know what else is new. Anyway, he knows Delfina will only be a burden to him so he wants to off her. He calls up Nereo and asks him to come on over. He wants Nereo to work for him. After he hangs up, he says that he'll kill two birds with one stone.
Nereo doesn't trust Fully after all he did leave him dangling for his life a while back. Fully laughs. Fully wants Nereo to off Delfina for him.
Fully gives Delfina some gold coins to put away in front of Nereo.
DamFab At The Hospital Again
DamFab is back at the hospital. He informs Rebeca, Magda, and Claudio that Hernan kidnapped Marina and his daughter. DamFab is taken to be checked by Doc SansSupenders. Rebeca and Magda are left worried.
Doc SansSuspenders tells DamFab that he'll cause some internal bleeding if he continues to make brusque movements. DamStrong wants to continue searching. Claudio wants him to recover first. They change subjects and talk about Hernan's mental state. Hernan could be capable of hurting those he loves.
She's Not Pregnant
Delfina catches Pester removing the padding she's been using to fake her pregnancy. Delfina will tell DamHe'sNotTheDadBecauseThereIsNoBaby the truth. Pester cries. She wants Delfina to keep mum. Delfina refuses. Delfina is ashamed of Pester and Pester is ashamed of her mother. Pester insults Delfina. Delfina leaves. Pesters tells Delfina to consider her dead if she blabs about the fake pregnancy.
DamFed Continues To Investigate....
But before he does, he's in his room with Michelito. He wonders where Marina could be. Later, he talks to Bagre. He wants to continue the search. Bagre reminds him that his life is at risk too. The DamWound could get infected.
Robles visits DamFed and brings him up to date: 1. Ursula gave her statement and denied complicity. Robles believes she is an accomplice but he can't prove it. 2. Marcelino refuses to talk. DamFed wants to talk to Marcelino.
DamFed grills Marcelino for info but Marcelino hardly says anything important. He does mention that Hernan has several properties although he does not know their locations. When asked what he knows about Zully, he says that all he knows is that she left Hernan's pad one day. He lies about what he knows after remembering Ursula's threat.
DamFed talks with Ursula. She still wants to be his friend. He says that can only be if you prove it by telling the truth.
JazLu/Laz/Abi Continued...
Abi sends some kid to go and get Laz for her. She waits for Laz. She shows him the sunset. She tells him she's not bad just a woman looking to be loved. Yada yada yada.
Claudio Blabs & And Wants To Be Called Uncle Claudio
Claudio tells Mercedes that Hernan kidnapped Marina. Mercedes is worried. Claudio thoughtbubbles about his love for Mercedes. Oh what he'd do to prevent her suffering. Maybe you shouldn't have told her about the kidnapping then, Claudio....
Claudio and Magda bond a little. Claudio wants Magda to call him Uncle Claudio. She'll be calling him that. Claudio says he now has two nieces, two grandkids, and a son. A son? Yep. DamFab is his son. Awww.
Fully spots Claudio and doesn't like it on bit that he's so close to Mercedes.
DamFed Disobeys Doc's Orders
Pester is at her place and wants Fully to come over. DamFed storms in wanting to see Pester. Pester quickly puts on her padding and goes to see her DamFineHubby. He demands to know what she knows about Hernan's whereabouts. She doesn't know a thing. He hopes she's being honest or else he'll make her pay.
Claudio Vs Fully
Fully watches Mercedes through the window. He wouldn't have been able to deal with Mercedes' death. He says that at least he has Mercedes' hate. He wonders why Mercedes never loved him. He could have made her oh so happy. Claudio shows up.
Marina's New Home
Marina arrives at her new home - a dusty old cabin. Marina wants Hernan to let her go but he won't. He says they'll start a new life together. At night, Marina wants to sleep on the sofa but Hernan will have none of it. He forces himself on Marina.
NO AVANCES. Just combined scenes of what is to come.

Mauricio: Marvelous. In spite of the grim events, you had me smiling away and nodding in vigorous agreement at: "Insufferable JazLu/Laz/Abi Storyline" and "Viewerville Screams At Their TV's: Make This Storyline Stop Please!" I love the look on DamPi**ed 's face. However, I doubt that Herny will die at his hands because DamGalan is the galan, so the show cannot end with blood on his hands. We do know that somehow, someway , Herny is not long for this world. Who knew that Fully was a fully loaded shot shooter ? Color me surprised. Will he get in a clear shot and take Herny out ?
I liked the sweet reunion between Tia Becky and hot Jose. That big muscled arm will take some physical therapy to heal.
Well, Marina finally told someone that DamNotReallyDead is Damdead. I thought that Claudio's reaction would be more DRAMATIC. I guess he had to hold back the angst when he saw CRACRAHerny, the goat whisperer...or more precisely the goat shooer.
Well, out into the cold I go to teach modals and listen to speeches about Syria, Bangladesh, India, Colombia, and Rumania.

Glad to read that Dam found the evidence Mercedes hid in the car and brought it to the cops. That would have been a good scene to show, instead of some of the Laz-Lu drama. Now, let's hope Delfina can tell Dam about the fake pregnancy before Nareo kills her. Poor Delfina.

Vivi, I also laughed when Hernan pulled out the baby seat. It didn't even feel like a PSA, the way he was flinging it around. Imagine, in the middle of his meltdown, that he would think to buckle the baby up.

My favorite scene last night was Fulgencio in the chapel. He turned to the portrait of the Virgin of Guadalupe as he took a seat and respectfully said something like, "Excuse my back Señora, but I need to talk to your Son."

My favorite scene last night was Fulgencio in the chapel. He turned to the portrait of the Virgin of Guadalupe as he took a seat and respectfully said something like, "Excuse my back Señora, but I need to talk to your Son."
How are we supposed to hate someone like that?

I also loved the bit with Hernan and the car seat [however that may have a bit of verisimilitude -- I have seen people pause in the midst of their madness to do some ordinary thing. It's still pretty funny though.]

Oh and can someone explain exactly what that fake marriage was? I understood Jose saying "an old friend", "they're not really married" but what the heck happened? How did Jose know and why would a legit judge stand by and watch a kidnapping?

Katy -- Marcelino told Jose that Hernan was planning a wedding with Marina out at sea. He informed Mercedes about this and told her about his plan to plan a fake wedding. How the judge would stand there and watch a kidnapping happening is definitely a beanie moment.

Marina is surely being TN-punished for her willful blindness to Hernan's real character. I would get smart and fight like a tiger if I were in Marina's shoes. Under Hernan's tender ministrations that baby won't last a month. those scenes with the baby make me anxious. I wish they would use a mannequin baby and not the kid with the shaved head. Good grief.
I cracked up when the main characters put together the final clue as to Hernan's madness—the blow-up Marina doll. She even had a matching engagement ring!, Damian explained. Way to grock the obvious, Dam and Co.
I LOL every time I see MS. Lifelike Marina blow-up doll. It reminds me of an old Gary Larson cartoon. Two bulls are in a field, one is blowing up a plastic cow with impossibly large udders. AsBull number 1 notices that the cow-doll is half inflated, he says to Bull number 2, "She's looking good, Verne."
Mauricio, It has been a pleasure recapping with you. I could only wish that Uni had not destroyed our charming TN so that I could have worked with you longer.

I would have so loved to see Rene/Claudio say that line about buying Jose bigger shirts. LOL! I don't mind the smedium shirts at all. And yes, Fully was hilarious as he spoke to the Virgin and Jesus.
Hernan and the baby seat just proves that Marina is not the good mother she thought (when she chastised Mercedes) she would be. The car seat should've been the first thing she should have insisted on when she was herded into the car. Instead, she allowed him to drag her in and race off with her baby in her arms. Pretty stupid. He would have let her get it, but even if he hadn't, she should have at least tried. Any good mother would.
The guy who "married" them was not a real justice of the peace. Jose said it was a friend of his who did him the favor of pretending to be one. With Hernan's armed guards all around, there was not much he could do to help Marina. They never showed what happened to him afterward, though. Hernan is so delusional that he probably just let him go as if he had just performed a normal wedding.

I think Marina is getting a crash course in learning that situations are not always black or white. There are a lot of things that can happen that would obligate you to make tough decisions you never would have thought you'd have to make-- like giving your child to someone trusted to keep them safe from a psycho who's obsessed with you. Or that crazy people will do really underhanded things to get what they want—like Hernan and Ester. Maybe now she won’t be so hard on Mercedes and Damian.
There has been such a shocking amount of child abuse in recent times in these stories. I can't recall it being this bad 10 years ago. Or did I just miss something?
There is some heavy Karmageddon coming on Friday. Hernan's obsession is about as sick as it gets.

UA, I haven't been watching telenovelas for 10 years, only since 20006 (Alborada), but I recall in Mundo de Fieras (I think) Edith Gonzales boiling her kid like a lobster in a hot tub that she deliberately turned too high. Then there was Dona Jacinta in Barrera de Amor who put a baby on the windowsill all night hoping it would catch a cold and die.
