La Tempestad, November 11, 2013. Capitulo 76.
DamFab comes to tell his daughter and Marina good night. Ungrateful Marina tells him there is no need. Just because their daughter was born doesn't mean anything has changed. Estercita is still expecting a another child of his. DamFab reminds her that it was a set-up. Marina recognizes that, but he let himself fall victim. DamFab feels that the baby Estercita is expecting is not his. He asks her to have confidence in him. He loves her. They kiss.
Mexico City: Crazy Hernan tells Ernesto how much he really hates him. You have turned me into a man without scruples. He pulls out a gun. Ernesto asks him if he would kill his own father. Crazy eyed Hernan tells him to come up with a better lie. Ernesto says he is not afraid of death and is not lying. But you told me you killed by parents replies Hernan. Ernesto says I ordered the man who raised you to die. I liked your mother but she kept rejecting me. So that is why I took her by force. Shut up! yells Hernan. Jose and Mercedes are driving and she gets a “feeling”. A black truck full of guys with guns shoots at the car. Jose tries to out run them.

Mercedes gets shot in the hand and Jose in the shoulder. He drives into a tree and the masked gun men run off.

Oso tells the guys that DamFab should be back by now.

Crazy eyes Hernan keeps swinging the gun towards DamFab and Marina. DamFab sees an opportunity and goes after the gun. He and Hernan struggle and DamFab gets shot. Hernan pistol whips him and then shoots again. DamFab falls into the water. Hernan goes to Marina and yells for her to go below deck. A gunman on the yacht assists her below. Crazy eyed Hernan follows her. Marina attacks Hernan who then slaps her and tells her to control herself. Don't provoke me says Hernan. You know what I am capable of. Understand? The captain goes below deck and tells Hernan that he just received word that Mercedes is in the hospital gravely hurt. Marina asks if he ordered for her mother to be killed? She begs him to return to shore. Crazy eyed Hernan says only if she promises to behave herself and be the dutiful wife. She swears on her daughter that she will. She wants to see her mother. Lagato spots a body in the water. Bagre says it's DamFab and Lolo loses it. Oso calms him down.

The crewmen have DamFab laying on the bed below deck. Bagre says they have to take the bullet out.

Claudio tells Mercedes that he loves her like no one else has. It is a privilege to love her. Mags can't belie what she's hearing. Claudio says he can no longer be quiet about his love. Doc Suspenders tells the group that they have done all they can to stabilize her. Marina wants to know if Mercedes will be okay. Doc says they have won the battle but not the war. She needs a blood transfusion. Who will do it? Both girls volunteer. Claudio tells Mercedes that she has finally gained both girls love and she needs to live.
The boys are trying to save DamFab and take out the bullet. He groans in agony.
The girls are donating blood. They discuss their feelings for Mercedes. Marina hopes that they can ask Mercedes for forgiveness.
Crazy eyed Hernan asks the girls how Mercedes is doing. Marina says she is going to surgery and hopes she can be saved. Mags tells Marina that she can't believe she married Hernan. He says he can't either. Claudio asks why they married in the middle of the ocean. Crazy eyed Hernan says Marina wanted a simple wedding, but he wanted to make it a bit more special. But don't worry. We will have a big religious ceremony at the church. Isn't that right my love? Doc says everything is ready for surgery and I will keep you all informed. Fully shows up and asks to see Mercedes. Everyone looks at Fully with a dirty look.
Delfina is looking through folders on Fully's desk. She finds her will and sees that Fully changed it in his favor. She decides to change it without Fully knowing about it. Everything I have will be left to my grandson, Michel Fabre.
Doc is in the operating room with Mercedes and her heart starts giving out.
Manana: they show upcoming scenes and announce the finale on Friday.

Wow!! Was not expecting Pester to off Ernesto. There is no way she can be redeemed now. Ernesto's death was poetic justice. Being outsmarted and murdered by a woman after years and years of selling them into slavery.

I actually watched both full episodes (yesterday) but I can't remember a whole lot more that happened.
I was shocked, shocked I tell you that Estercita managed to drown Ernesto so efficiently and matter-of-factly. She probably could have been La Reina del Sur if she'd put her mind to it, instead of obsessing over a man who doesn't care for her.
Some observations: 1)Marina thought Hernan shot and killed Damian, so I wonder why, when she got to the hospital, she didn't tell anyone on the sly to call the police? Was it because Hernan kept hold of the baby? Still doesn't make sense to me. 2) The scene with Claudio professing his love for Mercy in front of the twins was classic. I loved the way Magdalena kept looking shocked then rolling her eyes. Really dude? You pick NOW to spill your guts? 3) This might have been cut, but there was a scene at the hospital where Hernan responds to Claudio and actually mimicks his overblown accent. It's quite funny really.
It sounds like they cut out the scene of Becky weeping at Jose's bedside and she actually asks him to marry her! He is conveniently unconscious. Still.
Mauricio, ITA about the poetic justice of Ernesto's damp demise. Remember how he told Macario he should have shot him instead of talking about it. He kinda did the same thing with Pester. If he really wanted to kill her he should have done it sooner. Instead he wanted to have his way with her and rub her nose in it first. Too bad for him he didn't take his own advice.

Well, it didn't take long for Kookoo Hernan to show Marina his true colors. I must not be a very forgiving person, because I wanted Damian to say to her when he came aboard, "Don't 'mi amor' me now. Stay with your husband, I'm here for my daughter!"

Emarie, how did Mercedes and Jose get into Casa Crazy Eyes(thanks Gloria)? Ursula is out to get Hernan now. She escorted Jose and Mercees to Casa Crazy Eyes and told Marcelino to let them search Zully's room. Afterward she somehow ended up with a big fistful of money, I'm not sure how she got it. Does anyone know where she got the money? Did Mercy pay her to let them in the room? I'm not clear on that point.
Don't know if they showed this, but Hernan saw Mercy and Jose driving on the road away from his house. He called her to see if it was she and if she had come to talk to him. She blew him off and said she had no business with him y punto! He got suspicious and immediately called his henchies to take her out. Definitely beanie time. Good questions you put up. I think Marina didn't tell anyone anything cause Herny had the bebe at first and then sent the bebe off with the chofer to some Nanny that will be taking care of the bebe. I think Marina is afraid he will do something to that poor little innocent little bebe if she doesn't do what he says. What gets me is why that juez(sp) civil official, didn't turn Herny in for dangling that bebe over the side to get Marina to marry him. Clearly he saw all of that yet he hasn't said anything??? I think the kindest adjective I could use for Pester is...pragmatic. She seems to operate under the concept of doing whatever she has to do to survive and get what she wants, So far, what she seems to want is to survive and have DamDesirable. she also seems to like the jewelry and clothes that Ernasty gave to her. I wonder what she could accomplish if she channeled her tenacity , determination , and her survival extinct toward some positive goals. However, killing Ernasty allows the writers to kill her off so that DamFreedatlast and Morona can marry and adopt bebe Michel. As our Carlos would say...NEXT. !!!!

I know that Marina was under threat from Hernan, and so I certainly didn't expect to go running to Becky blabbing about what just happened, with Hernan standing right there. But she should know that she's not going to get out of this mess alone and she's going to need some more brain power and support to make sure she and her baby make it out of this alive. Becky and Mags aren't stupid. If she had told Mags while they were alone exactly what the situation was, she and Becky would proceed with caution and bring the proper people in who could help, without putting Marina in more danger. Just what does she think she can accomplish when she and the baby are locked away in Hernan's mansion, with no one knowing anything? There was also the chance that Dam was still alive (he survived being injured in the ocean before), and she should have done what she could to get help sent out to him.
Thank you very much for doing this recap, especially when you were under the influence of a migraine.
You have my sincerest sympathies and I hope that you may feel clear of the headache and its effects ASAP.

If Claudio and Mercedes get together then the twins Artigas/Reverte may one day be very rich indeed. We know that Damian is Caludio's primary heir, but WoW! With a shipping fortune there would be plenty of cash to go around.

Great point anon. I think the writers had to give Marina an experience similar to Mercedes' own in order for her to get over her self-righteous preaching.
I think the parallel story lines have made it seem OBVIOUS to Marina that if she had had the chance to give Baby Mercedes to Damian, the child's father, who was currently married to another woman, as Ariel was to Bea, she would have done so in a heartbeat. Better than letting Hernan dangle Baby Mercedes over the Gulf Of Mexico,no?

NM, thanks for the important bits about Hernan's threats. And Susanlynn, doesn't he do crazy SO WELL? His little jaw cracks and neck twists make me shudder.
Marta, I totally missed Hernan's comment about Marina running to Dam, etc. Thanks for sharing. Hernan is crazy but he's definitely perceptive. Just like he knew Mercy was up to something when he saw her driving away from his house.
By the way, did they show Mercyb stashing the proof under the mat in the truck? Because she did that. Hopefully she will come to and tell someone. Then they can put Herny away forever.

What are the standards of baby protection during TN shoots in Mexico? And where was the actual mother of that baby while this scene taking place? Would she have agreed to the actor (crazy Hernan) holding an infant over water at the EDGE of the boat while it was rocking? At first I thought it was a dummy doll but I really think it was an actual baby.

The interesting thing about the choppy editing is that it is evident in the supposedly "full" episodes too.
I suspect Televisa started sacrificing its own baby before Univision ever got its hands on it.
Maybe someday we'll see a tell-all memoir that reveals the real story -- why are this novela and all the professionals associated with it being punished?

I thought that the bebe's head seemed to be shaved. I had a student from Argentina who told me that in Argentina it is a custom to shave the baby's head . When she gave birth in a hospital here, she asked the nurse when she would shave her baby's head. The American nurse was muy confuzzled.

Yes I did. I wonder if it might be related to the anti-psychotic drug he is being slipped. Though I can't imagine these writers being sophisticated enough for that to be the case, it is a consideration. Some of those type of medications are accompanied by side effects which are referred to as extra-pyramidal which result in uncontrollable spastic movements.
I had been hoping for Beatriz to be the one to expose and accuse Hernán but it looks as though Marina already has a pretty good idea of what he is.

Ester did what the federal police, Mercedes, Hernan, Fully, Macario, and I'm sure many other mafiosos over the years could not manage to do-- off/stop Ernesto for good. I was impressed. I guess he didn't realize that he wasn't dealing with meek amnesiac Hada anymore.
Yes...Ernasty knew Hada, but last night , he met Pester. Pester seems to be a girl who will do whatever is necessary to survive and get what she wants. I think that killing Ernasty seals her own death. Goodbye, Pester.

I totally agree that I don't believe the writers would be so thorough (maybe we're wrong?) - but I wouldn't put it past the actor to do some research and take it upon himself to "act" out his craziness. A lot of actors really "become" the character instead of acting like one, and this may be the case with Ivan. If so, kudos to him.

I don't think that killing Ernesto precludes Estercita from redemption. That was sort of inventive preemptive self-defense which I think gets a pass. However, although she has not done a whole lot to otherwise earn redemption, I'm going to go out on a rather feeble limb and predict that she will survive mainly because her marriage to Damián has been conveniently and curiously annulled.
Besides, she has proved that if nothing else... she is a survivor.

EJ, I am still in deep vapors over the lack of safety equipment and seamanship in the movie "All is Lost". Fun movie, love RR, but my Ocean Safety Persona was about to blow a gasket. Compared to the movie Hernan's yacht is relatively safe...warm water, calm seas, mom and kid down below, no need for anyone to wear a PFD really EXCEPT FOR THE DAMBABY!!! And who would bring a newborn on a boat? Makes my head hurt.
Oh, and I hate to say it, but our Sweet William is a lousy rower. Don't know if they showed the part where he leaves the invisible Red Boat and rows a rowboat closer to Herny's yacht before swimming over, but if Herny's Henchies didn't see the glaringly red La T, they surely would have noticed all the splashing DamSplashy was making as he rowed over.

EJ...yes....Do they still make Calgon ? UHoh I often try to get lost in the simpler, gentler past. I enjoy reruns of Donna Reed and Ozzie and Harriet ...I still miss Ricky. ...sigh....and have to keep myself from dwelling on the fact that all the Nelson's are gone?
