Mentir Para Vivir #47 Wed 12/11/13 Tito the Thespian Treats us to more Dynamic Doggie Drama

Frog Park
JL returns to the scene of the crime and has decided he's going to look for poor Tito.   Who should he bump into? Leonardo!! JL give him some bull about losing his daughter’s dog day before yesterday but he went away on a trip and couldn't come look for the little beast, er, pet.  It all sounds kinda fishy to Leo.  JL then asks if there are any predatory animals in the area. Nothing but squirrels (ardillas) and badgers (tejónes) replies Leo.  JL wonders about Leo's dobie but Leo assures him dogs don't eat other dogs- maybe the dog was found by someone or maybe he wandered off. JL gives up and leave.

Casa de Piero
Fabi has found her way to Piero’s place.  Through her tears, she tells him she's preggers.  Also, that she went to tell Seba who denied he is the father. She cries on Piero’s shoulder momentarily and I swear they cut something out cuz the screen goes gray momentarily, hmmmm. Piero tells her she won't be the first or the last single woman who finds herself in this predicament. Should Ricardo be told?  She certainly doesn't want him to know. Piero knows how difficult this is for her but suggests she wait a few days to figure out a solution. There's always a solution for everything. She tells him what Seba said - that she should find another man to burden this baby with. Piero tells her that when she marries, it should be with someone she loves and loves her and her baby.

Vet’s Office
Tito is lying on the vet's table, still bandaged, giving the performance of his life. His eyes say it all, he feels the pain.  He is one with those bandages. Vet tells Leo the leg is healing nicely, he's eating well and should be released within the next few weeks. He will still need tender loving care.  Leo tells the vet he found Tito's family but doesn't know why they haven't come by yet.  He tells the vet he'll be taking Tito with him.

Casa del MataPerros
Oriana and Alina are on their way out when JL sees them.  He wonders where they were at dinner last night but Oriana tells him they ate in her room.  He's fed up with this situation. Too bad, he'll just have to get over it.  She tells him she's on her way to an investors meeting.  Abuela sent word they would meet today.  JL's a little miffed that Paloma knew the address.  Oriana fibs that she gave her the address the last time they met.  She shoots down JL's suggestion that he go to the meeting with her. Then he suggests she leave Alina with him.  No way, José.  She then sends Alina ahead to the car (alone?).  Alina shoots JL dagger eyes as she leaves the room. JL and Ori are free to argue.  JL argues that, as her husband, his place is by her side. She reminds him that as Francisco Castro and Ines Valdivia, there is no marriage. Besides, with his guy following her nonstop, she's sure JL will get a full report of her whereabouts.  JL accuses her of using this as an excuse to meet with el ingeniero.  She tells him Ricky will be there -- he's her socio!  She tries to leave but he grabs her by the arm. "What?  Are you gonna hit me? Go ahead, but I assure you it will be the last time you see me or your daughter."  He releases her and she finally leaves.

Aresti Breton
Ori and Ali arrive. JL watches them from the street.  Ori leaves Alina with Marilu who promises to watch her very carefully.

At the meeting:  Ricky, Piero, Ori, Paloma, Lila and the attorneys.  Sebastian was supposed to be there but he's a no show. Ricky announces Seba will keep the name Sanchez Breton.  Lila objects. Ricky tells her that’s how he wants it and Manriquez will draw up all the necessary paperwork.  Outside, Sebastian is running around with a bottle in his hand.  crazy drunk?

Lila accuses Ricky of killing Berto.  Manriquez tells her if she has some proof then she should report it to the police.

The estate attorney tells them all to shut it and get on with the business at hand: Gabriel's estate.  Gabriel's real estate will now be split between Lila and Ricky, including the property in Tijuana. Lila frets that she's already sold that property and gave Seba and Ricky their share.  Since Seba had no right to the property, he should then return the money she gave him so she can then give Ricky his share. Paloma is frustrated, saying how obvious it is that Lila was only after Gabriel for his money.  As for Berto, he was always living off Gabriel and Lila like a leech (sanguijuela).  Lila and Paloma start bickering-- "Don't you talk to me that way."  "I'll talk to you any way I please."  The estate attorney once again calms them down.

Out in the lobby, Alina is giving Marilu a run for her money while Seba casually saunters in.

Back at the meeting, Ricky tells Lila he's not interested in the additional money from the Tijuana property but Lila is insistent that Seba pay her back!
Just as Ricky has reached his limit and agrees to give Lila the money, Sebastian interrupts and joins the meeting, loaded for bear, and just plan loaded.  Ricky tells him he's too late. The meeting is over.  He explains he'll give Lila the money she gave Seba for the Tijuana house.  Also, Paloma won't take back the money from the shares she bought from him.  Seba begins to hurl the insults.  "Wow, such generosity! But of course, since you're all lined (forrado) with pesos."  Ricky asks him to leave. "Of course I'll leave.  A Mr. Nobody like me has no place here with the likes of a  zorra (tramp/slut) who married an old man for his money (looking at Lila), or some guy who satisfied his lust (lujuria) with a mentally deficient woman,"  Ricky tells him that's enough, but he's not finished.  He turns to Oriana, "And what about the beautiful woman who came from nowhere and won the love of an important businessman, while all the while she is married!" That's it.  Paloma's had enough.  She thought he might have had some decency left but he continues to be lazy and irresponsible. Ricky and Piero grap him and throw him out.  Paloma apologizes to everyone for this embarrassing (bochornosa) scene.  The estate attorney says he needs to leave now and will send the necessary documents.  Lila is on her way too, saying she'll wait to hear when the documents are ready, and her money of course.  Soon Paloma and Oriana are alone.  Paloma worries about Sebastian, wondering if he might have inherited his mother's locura.  She's cheered up when Oriana tells her Alina is there and will  bring her in.

Ricky and Piero drag Seba to the front of the building and throw him out like the trash he is.  Before he leaves, he promises Ricardo he'll get his revenge.  Ricky has ruined his life and he'll be sure to ruin Ricky's in return.

JL appears to have witnessed this from beyond the gate and tells his ex-wife-trailing-henchman to follow Seba and determine where he lives.

Ricky returns to the conference room where Alina is now visiting with Paloma. She tells him of Tito's demise but Ricky tells her that can't be.  Tito is just visiting with God for a little bit.  He’s sure Tito will be back.  Paloma tells her the same thing.  Ricky then asks if Alina is ready for her vacation by the sea.

Oriana, Ricky, Marilu, and Piero walk out to the hallway to talk.  Oriana tells him JL is outside watching her. Ricky says they must change their plan.  Apparently, Marilu is part of that plan. Outside, JL watches as Paloma is escorted to her SUV.  He's pithed cuz he hasn't seen Oriana yet.

Ricky, Oriana, and Alina are in the warehouse area.  Oriana tells him about all the documents she retrieved from JL's computer.  He tells her he'll join her in a few days and they can review them together.  The important thing is for her to get out of here safely. Ricky reminds her again that he loves her  -- she loves him yada, yada, yada.  This is where Marilu comes in.  She's gonna drive Alina and Oriana in her car.  Ricky gives Oriana his cell phone and says goodbye to Alina, telling her to keep believing in miracles.  They drive off.  I’m sure this cell phone thing is gonna play a big part in this.  They made a big show of him giving it to her.

JL gets tired of waiting and rushes into the building.  Paulina tells him Ines and her daughter left some time ago. JL rushes into Ricky's office demanding to know where his wife and daughter are.  Ricky denies knowing their whereabouts but tells Jose Luis Falcon that they all know he's a criminal and his wife is within her rights if she's decided to leave him.  Well, Ricardo Sanchez Breton, JL reminds him that she's also a criminal.  Ricky brings up a certain falsified document clearing her of all charges.  But surely JL knows it all, seeing he's the one arranged it.  JL says he only did it for her.  Ricky thinks he only did it for himself, to show her how magnanimous he is and how far he’d go to show her he cares.  JL:  Of course I care.  She's my wife--the mother of my daughter!  Ricky:  Guess what?  Love dies.  Your daughter hates you because you killed her dog.  Oriana no longer loves you.  She's suffered a lot because of you and that's not right.  You should have had the decency to let her be after you escaped persecution in Colombia.  Get this into your thick skull, JL. I.Love.Her.  JL: I love her too.  Ricky: but you lost your opportunity.  JL:  You forget that I can have her thrown in jail.  Ricky:  She can do the same to you. Do you love your daughter?  Then why don't you just let them be?  They don't love you anymore.  JL:  That's what you think.  This is not the last word on this.

After he leaves, Ricky asks Paulina to get him a new cell phone. He tells her he gave his to Inez.  (cell phone mention #2)

Carretera
We see Marilu's car driving along the coastline. They'll be there soon.

Iglesia de Padre Plaid
Paloma has gone to visit with Mariano, explaining it was urgent for Oriana to get the hell out of Hermosillo now.

Casa de Paloma
JL arrives, insisting on seeing Ines. The guy (not Jorge) tells him she' not there and neither is Paloma. He tells JL that if he continues to raise his voice at him, he's gonna have to call the police.  JL leaves.

Iglesia
Padre Plaid is celebrating mass and includes Palomita and Inez in the prayers for the dead.  After mass, Mariano consoles Paloma.  She's accepted that this was their destiny.

They find JL waiting at the Holy Gym.  He insists on knowing where Oriana and his daughter are. Mariano admits he knows where they are but he's not going to tell him. Paloma tells him he has no rights.  He's a criminal who has ruined the life of her granddaughter.  JL comes unglued -- we all know she's not your granddaughter and if the priest doesn't know......Mariano informs him that he knows the whole story.  JL assumes then Mariano understands that a wife's place is with her husband.  Mariano informs him the church has changed.  A woman has every right to leave her husband if he's a criminal. JL:  Oh!  Then you approve of a married woman having a lover?  Mariano:  When Oriana began her relationship with Ricky, it was assumed you were dead.  JL:  I AM NOT DEAD! He loses it when Paloma again refers to Oriana as her granddaughter.  She's not her granddaughter; she's a swindler (estafadora)!  Paloma tells him to shut his pie hole!  She knew from the beginning (really?) that she wasn’t her granddaughter by blood but she loves her with her soul and they can legalize their kinship (parentesco).  JL knows Paloma has a lot of money and can manage anything but the bottom line is that Oriana is his wife.  Mariano butts in and reminds him that legally, he's dead; therefore, Oriana is a widow. JL's fed up. Ok, so Paloma may have a lot of money and Padre Plaid may have the church on his side but he's going to find his wife and bring her back to his side.  Mariano wonders what then? Will he make her suffer as he made his daughter suffer when he killed her dog?  Again with the dog, says JL.  Look, it was just an accident, an irrational impulse. Mariano offers him some advice.  If these "irrational impulses" happen frequently, maybe he should go see a doctor. JL:  I'm not loco!  and then he leaves.  Once alone, Paloma tells Mariano she's afraid.  Mariano tells her she shouldn't be.  She has a lot of people on her side and Oriana does too.  He asks if she was serious about legalizing the relationship. Paloma isn't sure it can be done.  Mariano tells her they'll both check it out.

Bahía de Kino, Sonora
Fidelia welcomes Oriana and Alina.  They arrived with nothing.  Marilu assures Oriana they can go shopping in the town.  Fidelia assigns the rooms -  Alina wants to sleep with her mom.  She doesn't want to be alone.

Hermosillo
Back at his hotel, JL has done some shopping of his own and pulls out a ginormous diamond bracelet.  He calls Raquel as we listen to some "sexy-sexy smile" music.  He wants her to come over but she plays hard to get.  He tells her he'll make it worth her while.

Hotel Casa Bonita
Ruben has noticed Lucina is down in the dumps.  She blames it all on the murders that have taken place in her hotels.  She wonders if he's going back to his wife. No way, he says.  He offers to go with her to visit Felipe.  There's definitely a little sparky, sparky going on here.

Aresti Breton
Ricky tells Piero he can't help but feel bad for Sebastion.  After all, he'd thought he was his son all these years and still has some affection for him, and for Maria.  Speaking of which, he calls to see how she's doing.  He'll take this opportunity to give the Doc has new cell phone (mention #3) since he gave his to Oriana.  The doc has some bad news. Maria's condition has worsened. She's had a few epileptic episodes. They're planning on doing some tests on her brain (EKG's?).  He hopes it isn't something else.

Bahía
Oriana and Marilu have gone shopping -- Marilu used her credit cards so JL wouldn't be able to see charges on Oriana's cards.  Oriana will ask Paloma to pick up the charges.  Alina's happy with her stuffed dog mommy bought her.  She tried to find one that looked like Tito, but no luck.  Oriana reminds her about what Paloma said, that God may be working on a miracle to bring Tito back to her.

Marilu has noticed Fidelia seems very happy.  Fidelia says it's because the house is filled with people. She never would have been able to do this in Hermosillo because of what happened with Ruben  Even though so much time has passed, her cacatúa (cockatoo/old bat/vieja) friends remember it all.  But here, no one knows anything.

Hermosillo
Raquel couldn't resist of course and so JL and Raq get it on.  He gives her the bracelet. Later, she tells him she'll need a taxi since she doesn't have a car. Lucina won’t let her use the one he gave Oriana, etc. etc.  He makes a deal with her.  He wants her to find out if the car Oriana was driving earlier is still parked at Aresti Breton.  If she gets that info for him, he'll buy her a new car.

Hospital
Felipe worries Lucina will let him go.  Aw shucks, Lucina would never think of doing anything like that.  This makes Felipe very happy and he's glad Ruben came with her too.  He now recalls that his assailant asked where Berto's room was just before the attack.

Casa de Paloma?  or maybe Hotel Casa Bonita?
Fabi asks Cesar to return home.  He really doesn’t want to,  He knows things haven't changed.  She urges him to try talking with their mom.  Besides, she misses him and needs him.  She confides in him that she's preggers.  He assumes it's Piero's.  She doesn't respond but just hugs him.

Sorry gang! I don't know what happened -- i posted this last night but obviously something went wrong. Somewhere out there in cyberspace there's a telenovela recap waiting to be read. oh well, here it is.

I get such a kick out of Tito. I wish I could get my chihuahua to sit still like that. Happy Thursday everyone!

JL is bound to get violent with one of his women – I hope it isn’t either of them but I’m thinking it’s going to be Raquel. She’s playing right into his hands and doesn’t even realize it. She thinks she’s playing him but she has no idea who she’s dealing with. Lucina tried to warn her. Speaking of which, are we going to see a Ruben/Lucina matchup? But what about poor Manolo?

Boy did Seba get a lot off his chest last night! I don’t really blame him though. He’s had everything handed to him and now it’s all being taken away. If he weren’t such a stinker, I’d feel sorry for him. It’s time he’s had his comeuppance but I have a sneaky suspicion there’s an anvil out there with his name on it.

Will Fidelia claim Piero is the baby daddy? Piero is so fond of her he may be willing to play the part and assume the responsibility. I’m sure she’s destined for the Luscious Leonardo but isn’t ready to plunge into a new relationship just yet.

Was Oriana’s red skirt short, or what? A little higher and they would have had to blur out her lady parts when she was coming down the stairs at JL’s house! She kept tugging at that skirt throughout the episode.

Casa del MataPerros--Good one! Now I will get back to reading.

Paquita, great recap...loved very bit of it but especially the title and description of Tito's award-winning performance at being injured. I'm also loving the intrigue around Ricky and Co getting Oriana and Ali out of Hermosillo. And JL member takes responsibility for what he's done to Ali and Oriana. If he's a criminal, the Oriana is one too so there! He's acting like a petulant child.

I'm glad Leonardo had enough sense to know JL was shady. The guy who plays Leonardo has gotten a galan role per novelalounge, so we'll be seeing more of him after MPV ends.
.

Paquita, just fabulous!! I loved "he is one with the bandages", "shut your pie-hole" and "sparky sparky". Many thanks for the vocaublary, too.

Where in the world are they going with Piero and Fabi? I'm just not sure about that one. I'm glad Leo is on the scene.

Finally, some Catholicism. That the first Mass the priest has celebrated and that's the first time we've seen the crucifix. I'll bet they were getting complains from the Mexican audience.

Sebastian is right about everything. And one more thing, granny is nuts, loony tunes, loca. That's NOT Inez, lady. You're delusional.

If granny is o wonderful, how did she produce a drogadicta y prostituta? If Matilde is so awful, how did she produce two great kids? If Ricardo is so noble, how did Sebastian get so screwed up? If Phoniana is so wonderful, how did she manufacture such a spoiled monster?

Sorry about the typos above. One other thing, no wonder people accuse Phoniana of being a prostituta. She dresses like one!

Wonderful recap, Paquita! I love your shoutouts to Tito in the title and recap. Alina will be so happy when her miracle happens.

Raqui is an idiot if she doesn't realize that JL is just using her to relieve his physical needs and to get info on Ori. Speaking of blurring lady parts, Uni had to blur hers in the bed scene.

I guess I have been in enough LatAm countries and communities to know that form fitting clothes is not unusual and doesn't equate sluttiness. Women are expected to flaunt it, if they've got it, and still be chaste and pure. However, that was not the ideal skirt to go on the run in. Love how they got one over on JL by sneaking Ori and Alina out the back in a different car. His wild goose chase all over town was hilarious.

By the way, with a fabulous beach house like that, I don't know why Fidelia spends any time in the city house.

I don't know why Fabi didn't set Cesar straight and tell him Piero had nothing to do with her pregnancy. Who better to get a beatdown from an angry brother and dad than SebAss?

Paquita - Great recap. Thanks for my afternoon delight.

So JL goes back to the park looking for Tito. Wondering what that was all about. Did Alina's words that Tito was her friend finally sink in and he was going to take the dog to the vet?

The estate attorney's business-like manner throughout the drama of the meeting cracked me up. How about a triangle between Paloma, him, and the Good Samaritan’s grandpa? Paloma is all stressed over Ori's problems and needs a break.

With her experience, Raquel should know JL is playing her. He wants to shower afterward and said "no" pretty brusquely when she offered to join him.

ITA on Tito's performance. He has grown in this role from the days when he didn't even wag his tail or lick Alina's face after being lost.

You were in great form with this recap, Paquita!!!

"one with the bandages"! I LOVED IT!!!

Wasn't my little Tito El Bambino just wonderful in his role last night?!

I want that little doggie all for myself. :))

Why do I just want to slap Lila silly? The chick just bugs the heck out of me.

Fatima

Thanks for the recap! I especially liked the "Casa del MataPerros"

I'm glad Leo found Tito before JL did. He just wanted to look good in front of Alina like "Look! I found Tito! He's alive!". Anyway Tito is still recovering so its not very convenient for him to return with Alina just yet.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised that Seba showed up late and underdressed to the meeting. Ric is being just a tad bit on easy on him still by letting him keep his surname.

I agree the JL is totally playing Raquel. But she clearly likes the attention. JL is like, what, the fourth dude that she's hooked up with in this TN?I wouldn't be surprised if she too turns out to be pregnant. And it'll most likely be by JL.

I really liked the scene with Ric and JL. I'm glad Ric, Mariano, and Paloma are laying down the law and that Ori was able to leave without JL having a clue.
--TF

Thanks Paquita, I love your recaps. I laughed out loud when JL exclaimed that he wasn't crazy. I immediately thought of Sheldon Cooper who tells people he's not crazy, his mother had him tested.

I hope tomorrow opens with Fabiola telling Cesar that no, Piero is not the father of the baby. And why would Cesar think of Piero anyway?

These rich people and their beautiful homes. I thought the same thing, why would Fidelia even live in town when she has such a beautiful beach house. She doesn't even see her friends anyway.

Raquel doesn't care if she's being used, as long as the presents and money keep coming.

Great stuff.

Leonardo is smart enough to realize that JL is responsible for Tito's condition. He'll be a good foster dad for that little pup until JL's Karmageddon gets him. Tito gives a great performance here; somebody should revive The Patsy Awards.

Sebastian is a piece of crap no matter who his sperm donor is.

I get to catch up tonight, fútbol on telemundo.

I like Rick, but strongly dislike how he has dealt with Maria & Sebastion.
How could he have let Maria live in that hovel with an abusive (father). He isn't a good parent or brother, he throws Seb out drunk to drive????

I wonder if we will see Tito & dobbie interaction? Has Tito wagged his tail yet?

Paquita, thanks a million!
Casa del Mata Perros - lol - very well put.

I don't think we should be surprised by Oriana's run away (or is it runway) outfit - she's not one to sacrifice fashion for comfort.

Thanks Paquitadelbarrio,

I don't understand a couple of things about this show.

1. Why would Ricky be "in-charge" of Maria. Why isn't her father in charge. Wouldn't her father be in charge since he is her next of kin? I don't get that.

2. By the looks of Fedelia's beach mansion, she is RICH too! Why did Ruben leave her because Matilde was an heiress? I don't get that either. Fedelia already owns her home.

3. Why was Leonardo trolling the park at night. I am getting suspicious of his nocturnal activities as well? That is WIERD.

Cynderella

Cynderella, he probably works all day and the only time he has to run and exercise his dog is at night. He found Inez at night, and now Tito. I know people who exercise at night because that's when they can.

Good point about Ric not being in charge of Maria. She wasn't raising his son, he only gave money to Benigno to shut him up.

I think that Ruben picked Matilde because she was a craven sex fiend and what man can say no to that.

Thanks for a most excellent well-crafted recap Paquita. Nicely done.

I enjoyed the meeting in Frog Park. JL is very good at menacing but Leonardo does menacing pretty well himself. Add Neron the Doberman to that and it's pretty effective.

I may one of a very few, but I wanted more of Raquel and JL. They make a pretty steamy couple. I thought for a moment there that he was even going to kiss her toes.

Carlos

I thought it was funny that he needed a long hot shower after they had sex. Was Raquel that skanky?

Cynderella, as far as I remember, the beach house belongs to Ric, too, but it was put on the tia's name for one reason or another.
So presumably this happened after Fidelia went to live with them, after Ric's mom died - by that time Ruben had already chosen Madhilde.
Also, as Cathy supposed, maybe back in teh day Maddy was the sexy foxy and Fidelia the demure virgin.

I forgot to mention how distasteful I find this fiction they've created about the impending miraculous resurrection of Tito. If they don't want her coming in contact with Tito until he's healed, fine, I understand. Let's just wait until he's good to go and announce that we've found Tito... alive. Her daddy pronounced Tito dead... let him have to deal with explaining that.

cathyx... skanky? I prefer to think of her as just skankish.

Carlos

1) Thanks for the fabulous recap. You made a good point about the cell phone being mentioned at least 3 times. I’m curious to see how that unfolds and in whose favor, good guys or bad guys.

2) Yes, Oriana’s dress was a tad short not only for her age but for a business meeting where she’ll be in the company of her husband’s rival. The stilettos gave the outfit an even more ”dressed to impress” appearance. I’m surprised that the combination didn’t fuel JL’s jealousy.

3) I don’t see the advantage of not telling Alina the truth about Tito. At least she would know he's alive and recovering. That IMO is not only the truth but more realistic.

4) Fabiola is surprisingly naïve. Why would she go alone to confront the person who raped her? What was she thinking?

This comment has been removed by the author.

I thought that Marilu's skirt was short too, but she's younger and can pull off the look better, in my opinion.
Ric was smart in giving her his phone. And what a memory he has. He remembered Maria's doctors number out of the blue. I can barely remember my own number.

Gracias, Paquita, for the recap!
