Corazon Indomable, 12/22/2013: EL GRAN FINAL!!!!

Well, Amigos. This long and winding journey we have been on, called Corazon Indomable, has finally come to an end. We've got a lot of ground to cover, so I won't waste time here sharing my thoughts, but I would like to thank my fantastic group of co-recappers, and the amazing group of commenters that shared this adventure with us. This final recap is a joint effort. Cece has recapped the first half, I have done the second half, and SURPRISE!, Carlos has provided some of his signature screencaps and captions. Enjoy!

Part 1 (By Cece): Stumbling Our Way to El Gran Final CI Style

Everything has been said in the past recaps this week. I would just like to add that it has been a wonderful experience albeit my first time recapping. I appreciate all the kind words and wonderful comments. You all definitely made this TN somewhat durable ;).  As to my fellow recappers, you are a talented bunch… that I aspire to write like someday. I would be the first person on the patio if you all got together and wrote a TN (I am also sure it would be better than half the stuff Televisa comes up with!). It’s been fun!!

Minutes Too Late
Alvaro wants MC to stay but his daughter is not of the same mind. MC understands her completely and she thinks it is best for her to go. The stupidity bug that began with Octavio sure is virulent because Alvaro seems to have caught the bug. Despite the “altered” state of his daughter, he wishes for MC to stay. Desperate Alvaro thinks MC should just lay low for a few days and return when his daughter rises to her senses. Methinks that Alvaro should be worrying more about the mental health of his daughter than finding reasons for MC to stay close to his side… pero ni modo!!

Tia Magdelena is also having chat with our hysteric Elsa. Elsa whines that all her father cares about is MC (she speaks some truth), when she wants MC gone like yesterday! Tia, who doesn’t realize she is talking to a teenager, tries to reason with Elsa convincing her that MC is innocent and has a great heart.  The woman of the hour, MC, enters the room, which leads to more shouting and hysterics from Elsa. MC is sad because she really cared for Elsa in this short time. But Elsa couldn't care less; she wants MC to disappear from her life forever.

The Taxi driver must be deceiving One-Cell because this must be the longest, most scenic route to Alvaro’s mansion. He finally arrives and encounters Alvaro himself.  They get into a macho fight with words and stares.  Alvaro tells Tav that MC did work here but she left. Unfortunately for Tav, Alvaro does not know where Juanita and Lupita are living.  Alvaro surprisingly admits to Tav that MC’s only true love (eye roll) will always be Tav. He will always be the person that occupies MC’s heart and mind. And just like that it seems like they have come to some mutual understanding of each other.

While he's at Alvaro's, Doris bangs on Tav's apartment door, yelling for him to open up. She just spoke to him a half hour ago (when he hung up on her), so she KNOWS he's in there. The cleaning lady hears the racket and tells Doris that Tav left long ago.
("What Happened? I'm The Governor's Daughter And Now I'm Selling Avon?")

Que Mas Quieres de Mi!  (What more do you want from me??)
MC should advise Tav how to teleport throughout Mexico because she has made it to Clementina’s (??) house in record time.  MC asks if Juanita and Lupita could stay with her while she looks for work elsewhere. Clementina accepts with pleasure saying that they will view Lupita like a grandchild.

During a cab ride with Juanita and Lupita, MC updates Juanita on her new life plan (and Juanita's too, since MC's changing Juanita's living situation without consulting her, once again). Juanita is not happy that MC will be on her own but MC does not want rumors to start. She just wants to go where no one can find her and associate her with that painting (Hopefully, that will teach you to think twice in compromising yourself in something you did not do).
"Wait...You Gave Her Benadryl...And I Gave Her Benadryl..."

MC seems so resigned with life (only 2 more hours and you are free of your chains and receive your happy ending) and with all the bad luck she has had. She shouldn’t complain because within 2 scenes she is already working as a waitress. MC tries to lay low and avoid recognition. One of the waitress girls who seems friendly enough believes MC to be someone important. Later on she cannot shake the feeling that she has seen MC somewhere before. MC quickly denies this and says she just has one of those faces.

Lupita: Alonso is not my father! It is One Cell Tav Gosh Darnit!!
Lupita fascinates herself with Clementina’s jewelry and hair braid while the grown ups talk about their doomed couple. Like Viewerville, Clementina wants to know what’s up with MC’s ex.  Juanita sighs and expresses that misfortune and misunderstandings separates our star-crossed lovers for over 100 episodes.  Meche (Alonso’s prometida) comes over for a visit. She makes the mistake and believes that Lupita is Alonso’s child since they look sooo alike. Juanita corrects her in a hot potato second…let’s not get confused missy! Her father is Octavio Navarez!! Back to important matters, Meche has rapidly moved on to a new novio named Lorenzo. She feels bad and still misses/cares for Alonso. Clementina tells her it's ok to move on…. the Lorenzo dude is a good guy.
"Look What I Got Outta My Nose."

MC pushes her luck by daydreaming about dear Octavio on the job. The boss notices this and tells her to get her act together. She needs to start acting like she wants to be here and stop being so pensive.  The nice waitress offers to share some of her money for a cab but MC, ever the prideful, declines. She warns MC to be safe walking these streets at night. No worries though, MC is not afraid of anything…plus she lives very close to here.

We take a break and move over to Clementina showing Lupita off to her rich gossipy friends. They all think Lupita looks so much like Alonso and wonder if he had a child they did not know about. Clementina denies. She is just trying to help a friend out. As the old ladies leave…they don’t believe a word of what Clementina said…they think that Lupita is Alonso’s child. And that imprudent Senorita, that Alonso painted, is probably the mother.

No Puedo Ser: MC just can’t catch a break
MC walks down a semi-deserted street in the middle of the night and I immediately know nothing good will come out of this. It comes to no surprise when a thief jumps out of nowhere demanding money. I am supposed to be scared and worried for MC but for whatever reason I am not. Just one more plot point that has me rolling my eyes (I know I know if I don’t stop they will get stuck that way…. or whatever the saying my mother told me all the time).  This thief is persistent and will not take no for an answer. We hear cops in the distance but the thief believes that MC is hiding the money in her clothes and makes an attempt to get it. The cops are nearing and he pokes MC in the neck with his knife, that way she will never forget him.  The cops who are slow as molasses finally make it on scene as MC drops to the ground and passes out.
"Ya Call That A Knife?"

MC wakes up all alone in the hospital. She has had enough of the bad things that has happened to her (some which are self imposed). We get treated with sepia flashbacks to remind us of the misfortunes of MC. The nurse comes to check on her and MC worries that the police will want to question her. Once again she will be the hot topic and in the newspapers (wow news in D.F. must be slow).

Meanwhile Tav gets his shoes cleaned, when a news boy comes up to him with today’s news. MC’s attack is on the front page…he rushes to the hospital in an attempt to find her.  He finally gets her room number but by the time he gets there MC has escaped (I saw that coming from a mile away).  He calls a nurse but it's too late. While Tav has gained a brain cell or two as of late, MC seems to be on the decline. She shows up at Clementina’s house about to pass out. She hurries Juanita to pay for the cab outside and to call Clementina. Clementina rushes to meet her and wonders what happened.  She quickly relays the past night’s events and her worry for being in the papers again. She begs Clementina to keep her safe and away from any more scandals. Her husband is not so happy with this idea. He thinks they will be brought into the scandal if they help in hiding MariCruz. Clementina tells him to call the authorities and tell them that they are housing and taking care of MC in their home.
"OMG! It's The Big One, I'm Comin' To Join You Papi!"

This patient may be dying in front of my eyes…but hey have you called the police yet??
MC has made it to a bed and is delirious. She calls for Octavio and expresses her desire to no longer live. She cannot handle this anymore (neither can we MC, neither can we).  The doctor has arrived and Juanita and Clementina explain everything. The slowest moving doctor in the world realizes that MC looks like she is in bad shape (facepalm moment). We have several frustrating minutes of him trying to take care of MC while stopping and making sure Francisco is calling the cops. He does not want to do anything until the cops are informed despite the ladies' insistence. He has been in the profession for many years and would not like to be involved in any problems now.

Our poor little Tav is still running around Mexico trying to find his beloved. His next stop is the police station where the detective just wants to be rid of him. He tells Tav to go question the workers at the bar she was working at, who turn out not to know where she was living, or even her name.  Of course, it is only when Tav leaves that the detective gets a call about the girl who escaped the hospital. He writes down the address (Octavio loses again).

Maria does not seem to have the same luck as Octavio. She apparently has been coming to the detective's office everyday to ask about her friend MC. The detective tells her she no longer has to do so as he hands her MC's current address. Maria cannot contain her happiness. She pays the poor guy with some type of fruit and he looks as confused as I am at this moment.

Part 2 (By Vivi): Reconciliation Sin Besos, and a Boda!

A few days must have passed since we last saw Maricruz writhing in pain, and calling for Octavio in feverish delirium, because she is now dressed, coiffed, and sitting in a chair as Juanita serves her juice. She’s also now questioning her judgment in leaving the hospital the way she did and coming to Clementina’s. Juanita tells her not to sweat it, because she’s in the best place she could have landed—paradise.  (I’m sure Juanita doesn't want MC to mess this sweet deal up for her, either).

MC is ashamed. She thinks she lost her mind a bit (ya think?). She doesn’t want to take advantage of Clementina. Juanita tells her she would be offending Clem if she rejected the help, since Clem has opened up her home to MC (and her child AND nanny), and has treated MC as a mother would. Juanita further explains that Clem is trying to clean up Alfonso’s karma and save his soul, by taking care of MC and Lupita, since he messed up their lives (I think MC did that all by herself).

Juanita, with Clem by her side, calls a desperate Octavio and tells him where MC and Lupita are. He rushes out and arrives in record time (just one commercial break this time, instead of two whole episodes). Juanita greets Tav as he runs into Clem’s house, but has a little talk with him before letting him see MC. She reminds him of what a good woman MC is. Clem makes her grand entrance and welcomes the father of “her granddaughter, Lupita.” Tav looks confused and, this time, I don’t fault him. She urges him to call her “mama”, or at least Clementina. Tav is more confused, and I’m creeped out. Clem takes his hand and speaks of how she lost her disgrace of a son, and would now like to consider Tav her own. Tav just wants to break free of the creepy lady and see MC, but Clem isn’t done. She wants Tav, MC, and Lupita to live with her. (Ruh roh?!) Tav doubts MC will want to be with him, but Clem tells him he knows NOTHING about women (Amen!). In her feverish delirium, MC only called out for him. Doesn’t he know that MC has only ever loved him? He points out that MC has given him the brush off the last many times they have seen each other. Plus she’s as stubborn as a mule. Clem dismisses that. MC was likely just ticked off at him about something or other. She points out that Tav’s jealousy and mistrust is his greatest fault. She further clarifies to Tav that MC never posed naked for Alfie, and tells Tav the whole sordid tale.

In her bedroom/dead Alfie’s room, MC shares a cuddle and tickle with Lupita. Juanita comes in and notices how happy MC is. She is sure MC could be even happier. MC claims that everything she wants and loves is right there in this house. Tav enters and wonders, what about him? He gets on his knees in front of MC and asks for her forgiveness. He takes Lupita and kisses her, then continues to beg MC’s forgiveness. She can’t believe he’s here. He is, and he never intends to separate from her again. He tells her she’s more beautiful than ever, and most important, she’s alive. And their little angel, Lupita, will be the light that guides them. Juanita takes the little angel away, so that her parents can continue to make up.

MC wonders how he found her? “My love, when you love someone, as I love you, you do whatever it takes.” (Or you wait around for their sensible nanny to call you.) MC whines about how awful her situation/life is right now. Tav says that none of these challenges are important. Plus, whenever they have focused on all the obstacles in their way, they just end up fighting. He now knows everything, everything he needs to know—that they love each other, and that MC is the best woman in the world. She wonders if that’s enough for him. “Yes. Each day I’m surer that I can’t live without you. You’re my eternal love, and we were made for each other.”

MC weeps, and Tav wonders if they can forgive each other for all their mistakes and sins, with all their heart. MC looks into his eyes and keeps him waiting for an answer through a La India Maria comedy break. Basically, Filemon refuses to get a move on. Hijinks!

MC weeps and tells Tav that she misses him terribly. And she realizes that her life has been a complete disaster. “There is nothing left of the wild savage that you once knew.” Tav hugs her, and asks her not to say that. She’s made him run all over the country and city trying to find her. She wonders if he trusts and has faith in her. He promises that he does, and tells her he loves her, over and again. She admires his goodness and his faith in her. She almost gives him one of their signature (back in the old days) Eskimo kisses, but then goes for a hug instead. What?! No makeup kiss?! LAME!! And she didn’t really answer his question about forgiveness and putting everything in the past, did she?

Anyway, Maria arrives at Clem’s house, but screws with the maid on the other side of the security camera and intercom, instead of just coming right out and saying who she is and who she’s looking for. Hijinks!

Inside the house, MC with Tav at her side, thanks Clem for all she’s done for her. Tav thanks her too. Clem says the way he can thank her is by marrying MC, and living with her and his daughter. “Where there is love and trust, nothing else is needed for there to be harmony in being with our loved ones.” Tav and MC affirm that they trust in each other blindly. MC says they are no longer kids, and it’s time she and Tav got their sh!t together (sentar cabeza). AMEN! For their daughter, and above all, for their love.

Alone again, Tav and MC talk about Clem and her condition that they live with her and her husband, as payment for bringing them back together. MC agrees to this. (I think this is a fantastic idea. MC and Tav will have no control over the money, since they are both terrible administrators of wealth, AND they’ll be taken care of and get to live in luxury. This is a win all around for them.) Tav wants to talk about the wedding. MC is apprehensive, thinking something will surely go wrong. He suggests they leave it all in Clem’s hands, but MC asks for just a bit more time before jumping into marriage with her ex-husband. Tav breaks the news that he’s got to go to work and pilot a flight. Some of the old clingy MC comes back. She’s worried that if he leaves, they’ll have problems again. She holds on to him tightly. He promises that nothing will separate them—not the distance nor a plane. (If I were him, I’d double check that MC doesn’t have any access to any guns. We know what happened the last time she tried to prevent him from working…)

In the front yard, Maria tells the maid that she and Filemon are MC’s friends and are both here to see her. Hijinks!

Tav and MC continue to hug chastely, and he says he thinks people have only one great love. She agrees. It’s time for him to leave. She tells him to take care, and he says he will, for her and for his kids. She dimples him. He tweaks her nose. They hug. They even shake hands! Good grief! No kisses are exchanged.  As he’s leaving, Tav spots Maria. He approves Maria’s entrance to the house. She brings Filemon along. Hijinks!

MC is speaking to herself and asking God to care for Tav. Clem overhears and tells her not to worry, then tries to distract her with planning the wedding, which will be on their ranch in the county. Maria enters like a colorful whirlwind. She and MC hug, and MC excitedly explains to Clem how Maria cared for her and her family when they had no food. Clem warmly greets her. Any friend of MC’s is a friend of hers, since MC is now like family to her. Well, if it’s more family Clem wants, then Maria is happy to become a new relative! Clem welcomes her with open arms and a big hug, and doesn’t even flinch when Maria tries to drag Filemon into the room. Hijinks!

Time passes, and Meche reads the wedding invitation they’ve just received to her mom, Celia.
“Don Francisco del Olmo and Doña Clementina Atunes del Olmo invite you and your distinguished family to the wedding of their Lady’s Companion,Señora Maria Alejandra Mendoza, to the distinguished pilot Señor Octavio Narvaez, which will be celebrated on their ranch, Victoria, on the 25th of this month.”

Celia can’t believe her ears. She thinks Clem has lost her mind. Meche wants to go. Celia says none of them are going. Then she gets on the party line with her bitchy friends and agrees that they are all boycotting this shameful wedding. They think Clem’s just looking for a fake father for her out of wedlock grandchild.
"I've Been Accepted To The Prestigious Fresno Beauty School!"

Clem and Francisco happily chat with Tav and MC about the upcoming wedding. They are the padrinos (sponsors). Clems says that when she walks him down the aisle, she’ll feel like he’s Alfonso at her side. They all give her a bit of side eye over this creepy comment, but then let it slide. Tav asks her not to feel sad. Clem snaps out of it, and gets back to talking about the party. She doesn’t think many people will come, but that’s the way Tav and MC want it. What’s important is that they will now spend the rest of their lives together.

Some time later, Clem gives MC a pearl necklace that her father gave her on her wedding. She says that MC is her only heir. Clem weeps that she lost her son, and all she has left are MC, Tav and Lupita. They are her family now. They hug and cry.

In their bachelor pad, Tav and Miguelito hang out and chat. Tav asks if Miggy is happy with him. “Si Tío!” OMG! This kid is adorable. Tav explains to Miggy that they are going to move to another house, a really nice house. They will be with MC, who will be like a mom to him, and he’ll never have to be alone again or left with strangers. And he’ll be with his cousin Lupita too.
M: Will we be like a family, Tío?
T: Yes, my love. A family where you’ll even have a grandpa and grandma, who’ll be really loving to you.
M: Cool, Tío!! (Que padre!) When are we going to this house?
T: Very soon, my love. And you’ll see how happy we’ll all be together, living like a family—full of love and harmony….Now we won’t be alone, because we’ll have our loved ones by our side.

Clem tells MC the way she can repay her is by loving her, and teaching Lupita to love her as a grandmother, and the other children of hers that will be born in this house. She once again speaks of making up for what Alfie did. MC says she finally feels a mother’s love, which she's never had.

It’s the WEDDING DAY!!! MC’s tresses are flowing free, crowned by a ring of flowers with a veil attached. Her dress is an updated version of her old favorite white dress with the lace bell sleeves, except it is floor length and has a long train. She looks every bit a Goddess of Nature, or a beautiful wood nymph.  She, and a heavily pregnant Solita, frolic on the grass of the country hacienda, as they did when we first met them that very first episode when they cavorted through the woods, dressed only in their white slips, and swam in the river. Solita is also wearing a white dress, looks happy, and she still has her signature pigtails. MC sees her prince, dressed in his pilot’s uniform, and runs to his arms for a hug (still no kiss). Behind him we see Eduardo, also in his uniform, with his heavily pregnant wife, Aracely, dressed in yellow.

Meanwhile, Maria christens the small dance floor in her own style. Hijinks!
"No More Punch For María."

We see Clem and Francisco beaming proudly, and the arrival of Celia and her bruja metiche friends, gingerly walking on the cobble stones and grass in their stilettos. Meche runs up to greet the bride and groom, and is a bit too friendly with Tav.

Back in the city, Natasha, Liz, and the other artist friends present Anibal’s painting, Liberación, to the public. The attendees are eager to buy it, no matter the cost, but Natasha says they are not selling it for now. Anibal has finally gotten what was due to him.

MC and Tav walk down the aisle together hand in hand, while Lupita and Miguelito hold MC’s train and Camilo Blanes serenades them. As they walk down the aisle, we see the attendees. Mainly people we don’t know, and a HUGE group of pilots in uniform (hubba, hubba). In addition to Ed, Aracely, Maria, and Solita, we spot Perico, Santa, and Juanita. MC and Tav sit before Padre Julian for the blessing, while Lupita and Miguelito play in the dirt behind them. (3-4 year olds and white clothing don’t mix.) MC remembers their first civil wedding in the rundown notary office in Tamaulipas. (We note that for that first wedding, Maria was wearing a much nicer outfit, and had put her long braided hair up in a very becoming style. She was not nearly as buffoonish back then, as the writers have made her now.) The Padre snaps MC out of her reverie and urges her to sign the marriage certificate.
"...And The Next Thing You Know, Everybody Is Calling Me Pope."

Next, the witnesses sign—Clem and Francisco. But they need the third witness—Maria. She can’t read or write, so she leaves her thumbprint on the certificate. She tells the couple that if they do end up divorcing again, she’d happily witness their third wedding too. Third time’s the charm! (El tercero es el vencido!)  Oh, God! Please, no! They give Maria a big hug.

Alone once again at the altar, our couple stares deeply into each other’s eyes, and…he kisses her…on the forehead(!), and she kisses him…on the hand(!). They beam at the attendees and they all clap.
("My Water Just Broke!")

Next, our couple takes a stroll through the picturesque hacienda, which turns into a music video for Camilo Blanes, as he creepily walks in the background singing their love theme.

T: You know something, my love? All of this seems like a dream to me.
M: One from which I never, ever want to awake.
Tav thinks their future will make up for all the bad times they’ve been through in the past. HUGS! And Camilo Blanes.

Tav says he will dedicate his whole life to making her the happiest woman in the world. MC promises to do the same for him. And she promises not to be a salvajita anymore. Tav jokes that he doesn’t want that. MC says that wild girl has gone and become the woman who now needs his protection, his affection, and his, her husband’s, home (hogar). Tav says his love for her will always be in that home. They stare into each other’s eyes, while holding hands, and Camilo Blanes creepily places himself between them singing the love theme.
"I Still Hate You." "And I Still Hate You."

Back in the heart of the party, Juanita takes the kidlets to play with Filemon, instead of hanging out with all those hot pilots. Silly girl! Clem and Francisco talk about how it feels like they’ve just married off Alfie, and are happy that they adopted MC, Tav and the kids they have and will have. Frank tells her that he loves her. She says if she had the choice to do her life over, she would marry him again. He says the same.

In D.F., Natasha put flowers on Anibal’s grave.

The party has kicked it up ten notches, as Margarita, La Diosa de la Cumbia and her band have everyone on their feet dancing. Juanita is dancing with the kidlets. Silly girl! Maria picks up the slack and starts getting down with the group of pilots, after asking Santa to help her write “Indomable” on the back of a handmade card with a big heart on front. (Get it? Wink, wink.) Santa chides her for not letting her teach her to read and write all the times she offered back on the ranch. But, she says, it’s never too late to learn. Even Solita is dancing with Perico. The beat must REALLY be infectious and loud!
"Just Sign Here...It's Called A Time Share."

MC and Tav are missing the fun and are still in a quiet spot pledging their love. She doesn’t want to make any plans for the future (since they always screw them up, anyway). She wants to live in the moment.  Tav says he will always love her. MC says a lack of love has never been their problem. Tav agrees. But they denied themselves that love before. MC admits she did, more so than he. HUGS! Tav thinks they were just victims of circumstances. And mistrust in each other, MC adds.
T: But that will never happen again. I promise.
M: No, no. Of course it won’t. And less so as the years pass, and we mature more, and we begin to get old.
T: What? You want to see me with white hair and a cane?
M: Yes, yes! Like my Abuelito! That way, I’ll have the certainty that I will be the only one to attend to and pamper you. But that’s still a long way off.
T: Maybe by then you’ll wear glasses, and I won’t be able to see your beautiful eyes.
M: These eyes that only see you and our children.
T: Thank you for making me the happiest man in the world.

She kisses him on the nose. He kisses her on the nose. She runs her fingers through his hair, and then pulls him close for a KISS! The love theme swells.  El amor de mi vida eres tu…♪
This is so sweet that I hate to put a caption to it.

They kiss slowly and passionately, as the camera pans out and these words appear on the screen. FIN! (Por fin!)

I knew you would post it quickly. On to read it now.

Nice job with the second part Vivi...you were right about the second part. Everything including the reconciliation was so anticlimactic. I was left feeling like...that's all?? I too noted the lack of besos towards the end.

Carlos...I wish you could do captions for all these novela's. I love your take on them. My favs were "Wait...You Gave Her Benadryl...And I Gave Her Benadryl...", "OMG! It's The Big One, I'm Comin' To Join You Papi!"
and "I Still Hate You." "And I Still Hate You."

Shows how much I was paying attention...I did not even notice the very pregnant Aracely or Solita.

I was also surprised that Doris just left and never appeared again...I guess her final scenes are all cut up in some editing room.

Cece- You did an excellent job with the first half, catching all the most important details. It has been a pleasure being on a recapping team with you, and you quickly became a pro at it. You're a natural. :)

I was surprised they actually brought Aracely back for the wedding since it had been so long since we'd seen her. It was nice to see her and Ed together, even if they didn't have any lines.

Cece beat me to the punch. I was about to ask if you all can believe how terribly "anticlimactic" the finale was. Even worse than the last few episodes. Oh well. At least it's over now. Yay.

CeCe, Vivi and Carlos:

You knocked this one out of the park! Loved the whole recap of this two hour finale and Carlos, I too liked OMG! It's the Big One, I'm Comin' To Join You Papi! Too funny.

This finale went as I expected it to. It's sad there was not more kissing with MC and Tav. It was odd. I did like the Eskimo kisses, but still.

I like what Clementina and Francisco did, that was very sweet of them, and this will rejuvenate them, adopting MC and her family. Had to laugh when the Biddies showed up at the wedding and Meiche getting too close to Tav.

It was great to see Ed and Aracely, Perico, Solita and Santa. For a quick minute there, I thought SHUTUPDORIS, would show up at the wedding and try and stop it.

I had to laugh when I saw Sergio Acosta as a policeman this time around and only for a half tic, too funny! Remember him as Espanto in AV?

Thanks again to CeCe, Vivi and Carlos for all your hard work on this TN, and all the other recappers for this TN, all the splendid recaps and I hope all of you recap again, you are so talented!

Vivi and Cece, thank you for wrapping this up with your outstanding recapping skills. Thank you also for sticking with this all these months.

A nice happy ending with Padre Julian officiating and Maricruz leaving the salvaje behind. The only thing missing was our moonkey friend.

Well, on to the next novela!

Jarifa

You guys do realize that we are missing the dead hamster picture right? I think I need to see it below the picture of MC and Octavio, just to feel like I've gotten some closure, ya know?

Wow! Thanks for the fast recaps. Marvelous! CeCe and Vivi, you are amazing.

Three times I thought something bad was going to happen-but it didn't!
1. As Clem continued to refer to Lupita as a granddaughter and was in raptures over the Benadrylized One, I thought uh oh! She's going to kidnap Lupita!
2. When Tav is telling MC he needed to leave to work and MC is making such a big deal about his departure, I briefly wondered--is he going to die?
3. Yes, that scene with the creepy singer…before I realized that was who he was, I thought, OMG!, is he going to shoot or stab MC and/or Tav?

The ending with Tav and MC repeatedly declaring their love for one another was as good as it could be given what has come before. As implausible and corny as it was, it still brought a smile to my face.

Vivi, LatinaInMD, Jardinera, Adriana Noel, Eli Perez, Cathyx, La Paloma, Carlos and CeCe:

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! and GRACIAS!

for your time, dedication, perseverance, skill and wit in giving us these recaps.

Barbara

Cece, Vivi and Carlos, THANK YOU for giving us the finish we so richly deserved ... about 2 or 3 months ago. :)

Madelaine, I found Clem and Fran's attachement a little creeepy, especially Clem's!!! But I do agree that MC and Tav need a middle man for their next big fight (which we know is coming, but thankfully, it will be off screen)and someone to take care of them, too, because they are obviously not capable of doing this on their own.

The lack of kissing for a telenovela FINALE was mindblowing, but, then again, it's like the producer decided to take a vow of celibacy with this tn; the leads were never together, never briefly reunited for a romantic love fest on an island somewhere (like all respectable tns do around the middle of the story to keep the fans interested).

I'm relieved this is finally over; it has been awful to watch, but I enjoyed our mutual complaining so much, I'm willing to do it again with the producer's next tn - but NOT as a recapper :) not enough pesos in the world to make me do this.

A big thank you to all the other recappers and to everyone who enjoyed my recaps.
This has been my first time recapping a Univision show (before I was mainly on the Telemundo threads. Even if CI will go down in Caray Caray's history like one of the worst tns ever, this experience has been one of the best for me!

Great recap as usual...

Where the hell is Doris? Thought that was Fonze's ghost wandering around. Yep I thought maybe they had mono, too. No kissing. It was more like, yea we will try it for a while till one of us goes off the rails again.

To borrow from Roy Clark: thank God and greyhound this one is gone.

Feliz Navidad everyone. Great recaps CeCe and Vivi. And Carlos, you did the captions? Anyway, my fave was the Benadryl one! Christmas rush is upon me but God bless all the recappers on this one, Purple Hearts and Legion of Honor for everybody!

WTF happened last night? Oct and MC trying not to kiss even with some lurker pantomiming in the background their love song. They looked uncomfortable as actors trying not to kiss and was like two junior high kids trying to keep their parents from seeing a PDA. Forgive my ignorance but do the writers and producers of TN's always try to insult the viewers? Thank god The Sound of Music was on last night too (kept switching there during commercial break) and I got more romance and real chemistry in that 50 year old movie. (we're talking Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer not 20 something latin hotties)

Thank you CeCe, Vivi and Carlos for this wonderful recap of the finale and thank you LatinaInMD, Jardinera, Adriana Noel, Eli Perez, Cathyx, and La Paloma!

I was attracted to CI when it was half over from some comments I saw on the PEAM board. I did a marathon viewing on hulu+ and caught up with the episodes and began reading recaps. Your tenacity and creativity are admirable especially for a show that went from promising to bad to worse. I know this does not have the same impact on me as it did on those of you who watched, invested and recapped from the beginning but I've never seen a show where the passion was so decidedly exterminated. It does indeed remind me of (for me) how the same thing was done with the new etapa of LFMB. It's like "reality" broke through the fourth wall with all kind of what looked liked "has been" leading galans and ladies being given cameos in pointless plot twists/filler and maybe even one of the actor's significant others insisting that the kissing be kept to a minimum! Thank you all so much and I wish you all and all who read and comment the best of what you wish for this Holiday season and a Peaceful and Prosperous New Year!

Lila

Lila, I thought the same as you about the parade of has beens thrown in and even crossed my mind too a partner wanted to keep the kissing to a minimum.

I kept having flashbacks of MC turning her head from a kiss from all her suitors and this looked no different.

I was thinking months ago that AB could be a TN actress that could make a jump to hollywood easily (not that it is what they aspire too) but perish that thought now

Cece, Vivi and Carlos...you are all wonderful. What a fantastic way to end this headache...uh, mean, journey we have been enduring. My holiday wish for all our recappers is that your next sojourn into recapping is better written and enjoyable. You deserve it!!

I have never viewed a TN where the main couple have had so few really romantic scenes. And then they finally get the chance to get these two some time to show off their chemistry, and we get NOSE KISSES?? If it wasn't for a certain curly-haired moppet, I would think we were watching two teenagers slipping away from prom. Well, now I think about it, probably would have seen more action there too.

That little guy playing Miguelite is hug-worthy to the extreme. Now, that's one actor I look forward to seeing soon again.

It was fun to see a few characters return, but would have liked to see a Doris wrap up. Still would have been fun to have daddy cut her off and have to slep for a living. And I really thought we would get Tav and MC buying her father's old mansion and going back to live there. The whole Clem scenario was just weird and a little two creepy for me.

It's been fun keeping company with everyone! Merry Christmas to all!

Daisynjay

FYI - the monkey was at the wedding, but he ended up on the cutting room floor. Hopefully Alegria will post the photo that circulated on the FB fan page showing both the burro and the monkey showed up for the nuptials.

Congrats to both of you and the rest of the team for enduring this disaster. I still don't get what made it do good ratings in Mexico (or here, for that matter).

Somehow I saw it coming that Clementina would adopt Maricruz, as she would now have no children of her own anymore. Not that a shrink shouldn't have weighed in on this one. At least they can still take care of the money and make sure that Maricruz and Octavio don't screw that up again... I guess that would ultimately mean trust funds and administrators until Lupita and Miguelito get their MBAs from Harvard. Every financial advisor in Mexico should be calling on Clementina and her husband ayer.

Maricruz never gets back what Jose Antonio stole from her. Did she even think to fight for it?

Was the whole airline grounded because all the pilots were at the wedding?

Where was the dear little monkey?

Who else predicted that the dress would look like it did?

When is anybody going to teach India Maria to read and write?

Robbie's mom is LatinaInMD btw. I don't know why my iPhone IDs me differently. Oh well.

I’m glad you all liked our joint effort. I tried to give the second half, the reconciliation, straight, since it is what so many people have wished for, for so long. Although the words were sweet, if a bit empty since they have yet to be backed up by deeds, I was utterly baffled by the lack of kissing. I didn’t expect them to fall into bed, as this was an afternoon tn. But no kissing, after they have finally made up after being broken up for FOUR YEARS?! That just made no sense at all. We know these two actors are capable, as we saw them make out like pros in the first part of the tn, and then two brief times after MC’s return to the ranch. So why no besos during the grand finale and after they had reconciled?

Tofie- So to answer your question, I think you can see by the level of frustration with this tn, this is NOT business as usual, at least not for a tn shown during primetime on Uni. But the ratings are what kept it in primetime, so obviously a huge audience was not offended at all by the dreck that this team of producer/writers chose to give us for the last 2/3 of this tn.

Alegria can post this link http://www.facebook.com/Corazonindomabletv/photos_albums
It's offacebook with all fotos. No spoilers now :)))
Later I will post what I think about all this and some information. Is it a surprize that boda, hospital, cafe and Clementina house with leads were filmed during last day. And some other scenes too. That is why actors looked like they want to sleep and not kiss each other.
Alegria

Were either of the actors diagnosed with mono or something to keep them from kissing?

I wonder what was being said in Mexico about that.

I’m trying remember what I enjoyed about this tn in the beginning and where it all went wrong for me. In the beginning, everything happened really quickly. There was no pause between crazy events. MC was wild child, who did unexpected things. As horrified as I was by her shooting Tav, I also found it hilarious! And Lucia was great to watch in BSC mode. I know many feel that MC was all alone and had nothing, as she also liked to remind us, but I still think she had great friends and loving family surrounding her—more than most people have. I was sad when everything went to the crapper and her life fell apart, but knew it was necessary to get us to the next stage—when MC would emerge stronger, faster, smarter, and come back for her revenge. Plus, I couldn’t feel that sorry for her, since Solita had it so much worse. Not only was she more defenseless than MC, but she had been raped, and had been right there when their grandfather was murdered. And yet, MC still continued her woe is me routine, even after finding out her poor little sister had been raped and impregnated.

I began to feel that our heroine was not only hotheaded and impetuous (which time and maturity could change), but also self-centered. I loved the time in Don Ale’s house when she and Solita was happy, safe and protected, and learning new things. And Don Ale and Tobias were very warm and loving father figures to the two girls. That might have been my favorite period of the tn.

But once again, I was struck by MC’s self-centeredness. She still often fell into woe is me mode. She never contacted the people who had helped her along the way—Serafina at the boarding house, and Santa back in Tamaulipas. That really bugged me.

She went to Isla Dorada, and her fabulous clothes kept me immensely entertained, and the other ladies weren’t so bad either. Plus, there was that adorable baby Lupita. Karim, Carola, Doris, the Luv Gov, and Teo were also entertaining. It was great seeing MC sparring with different and more sophisticated people, with her new persona and her new skills (like accounting). It should have just been practice for her real revenge on the Narvaez in Tamaulipas. But then the plot got bogged down and repetitive. MC’s fixation on the one casino was annoying, and I still think it cost Don Ale his life. As was her fixation on preventing Tav from marrying Doris by threatening to marry other men (Karim, the Gov). We wondered, what happened to the plans for revenge she constantly went on, and on, and on about?

Miguel and Lucia ending up in Isla Dorada was by mere chance. Otherwise, we would have never gotten going with the revenge. We finally got that going with the “get Miguel to drink and gamble away his lands” plan, and the tango in the fango with Lucia. But MC was mostly haphazard about the revenge planning, and Lucia, her true enemy, never wavered and never regretted a thing. He death had nothing to do with MC, and she died without resolving anything with MC. It was unsatisfying.

After that, the show went totally downhill for me. The writers changed characters’ personalities at whim, to fill the vacuum left by Lucia’s death. MC’s return to the ranch felt hollow, not triumphant. Who was she coming to get revenge on? Was she going to try to resolve old mysteries (Solita’s rape and her grandpa’s murder)? Nope. This was all about making sure Tav didn’t stick his tongue down anyone else’s throat except for hers. And she wasn’t successful at that either. He married and fathered a child with someone else.

So then we finally had MC doing something that wasn’t totally self centered for a change—helping the Realengo people. Wonderful! Just what I had been waiting for. But that was a total flop. She lost all her father’s money and businesses, and the people that she helped turned on her and burned her house down. What the hell kind of message does that send?

In this finale, we see MC totally defeated. Sure, we don’t want her to be the ignorant hothead she was in the beginning, but did she have to lose her spark in the process? Instead of using all the education her father and Tobi worked so hard to give her, by running a business, a foundation, or a charity, she’s resigned to live as a pampered rich heiress under the care of her “parents”, looking on as her nanny takes care of the kids, and waiting patiently for her hubby to come back from his work trips. Que?! This is not what I would have pictured her doing had you asked me during the Education of Maricruz Olivares Era at Don Ale’s house.

Alegria- Thanks for the link to the pics. I'm still not giving them a pass on the lack of kisses due to the final days filiming schedule. That's what happens in the final filming for tns. And other tns have much more emotionally wrenching stuff that have to go through in the end. If you saw the last two episodes of Amor Bravio, you'll see the heorine absolutely put through the emotional wringer, as well as the hero, and yet they threw in a last love scene and kisses (and we still wanted more of that). With all of the scenes of MC and Tav speaking about their love, the actors could have been saved learning lines and instead just kissed. That would have taken less energy than all the love babbling.

Great recap you three. CeCe, thanks for all your recaps, it's been a long slog but we made it through.

Vivi, same to you. I'm glad you didn't have to do this one alone. No one deserves that much punishment for having stuck with this.

Carlos, great captions again. And again, my immature humor at the 'look what I got outta my nose', and your Sanford and Son reference. Not sure how many got that one, you need to be a certain age I guess.

Maybe the lack of kissing was due to Ana Brenda's illness? Daniel didn't want to get it.

Vivi in DC, I didn't saw it, but I know, that producers never make such a marathon with the wedding. Almost never combine filming at location and filming at foro. And all the mornind and all the afternoon they were filmong wedding fer from Mexico. In the evening they return and start filming till the morning at foro. Poor Lupita, can you emagine the stress?
About kissing. I think, that Natalie and director thought it will be ok. That everyone will be waiting for the last kiss.
The truth is, I don't kniw what they were thinking about. It's the most poring final episode I ever saw. It's almost the most boring episode of this novela. I saw parts from Sal y Pimienta with actors and they are much more inetersting. What a shame.
And I want to add this link http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x15kljf_revive-el-chat-con-daniel-arenas_shortfilms
It's chat with Daniel Arenas. He talked alot about this novela. I enjoyed it very much
Alegria

cathyx, it was not about any illness. That long last kiss was filmed in the afternoon. Later at night they filmed that scene in the house of Clementina.
Alegria

I've been wondering, too, about the message sent by this novela. Living like a brain-damaged spoiled princess in the home of a Good Queen (who had learned her own lesson) isn't going to teach Maricruz anything. She's just playing house at this point.

And when did Octavio's light bulb go on? How? I'm still not clear on that. He's still playing house, too, because despite being employed he's not going to learn any real responsibility if Francisco and Clementina's money can always bail them out.

This Fin was just...meh. This recap is a work of art. Many thanks to the three of you.

CeCe- I loved the "slow news day" quip. In real life a street stabbing does not warrant front page news.

Vivi- I thought the line about waiting for the Nanny to call was priceless.

Carlos-Thank you for lending your screencap/caption talents to this one. I particularly enjoyed "My water just broke" and "Sign this, it's called a time share."

From the bottom of my heart I thank all the recappers. Y'all kept me going when I couldn't take it any more.

I really was disappointed by this last episode. I literally cried about it. I liked this show at the beginning, but the minute they left Isla Dorada it was never the same. Vivi, you really explained well in your comments.

Thanks for this most excellent recap CeCe and Vivi. You guys did such a great job.

I wish we had gotten an opportunity to get to know the folks at Maricruz's new job in the cantina better. I thought that her fellow waitress was a cutie and was great with the male customers.

Vivi, didn't little Miguelito bloom out as an actor in this last episode. He clearly enjoyed working with Octavio. That was a precious scene..."¡Sí Tío!"

My favorite scene was with that nervous dithering Dr. called in to check on Maricruz...I would have been disappointed had he been otherwise.

My caption for that last photo was going to be "You Know...You Smell Like My First Wife", but I thought that seemed disrespectful.

Carlos

Thanks Alegria for the links...I watched some of the videos and I saw the monkey! The boy that played Migeulito is just too adorable (So is Lupita)!!

UA,
I agree...there are so many threads that were never concluded in this novela.
What ever happened to Karim and Teo?
What happened to all the money that JA stole? I am still upset that MC never figured it out.
Where did Doris disappear to?
Did Tav (who did seem to regain some senses the last two hours) and MC ever grow up?
How did this novela reach the height of success that it did? That is something I will never understand.
Why is Mrs. Meija allowed to produce the same old novela next year (sigh)?

It really did seem like MC's character was just phoning it in the last few episodes...she had no life in her. Her journey seemed like it was all for nothing since I did not feel like she learned anything.

Vivi: I couldn't agree more with your analysis. Very well said!!

Happy Holidays everyone!

As for Doris, I could have sworn I saw her last night in a teaser for the upcoming Qué Pobres Tan Ricos.

Carlos

Brilliant summation Vivi. I think you hit the nail on the head for all of us.
My biggest sorrow in this TN and what began to turn me off was how MC just wasted everything her father had worked for and there was no resolution on the staff who had served him so faithfully. It was hard to root for a heroine who was, as you say, so self caught up in her own revenge, ideas and plans that everyone else was either kicked to the curb or pushed to the side ( and that sometimes included her daughter). Maybe Elsa had something there...get this woman out of the house before it blows up. Now that she's out of ideas and no more revenge to wreak, she can sit around and eat bon-bons and live off someone's money ( so much for showing the simple things in life are best?)

Not my idea of a positive role model heroine.

And Tav--if it wasn't he was so darn good with the kids, I would categorize him as the most worthless, non-decision making hero I've ever seen. Looks in some cases just aren't everything.

Sad.

Daisynjay

According to uVideos and Hulu, the last episode is 84 minutes, but the original is 6 minutes longer. Why was this episode edited for time?

You're correct, Carlos. Ingrid Martz is in Que Pobres. She will be a villain again.

Jose Angel, possibly to remove some estupides or other.

First, a great big “thank you” to CeCe, Vivi and Carlos for the final recap. Your excellent “translation” of the screen action made it worth watching.

Vivi, I agree with your insightful analysis of CI and its downward slide. Thanks for everyone’s kind remarks about our recap team. What a learning experience it was!

Lupita was sitting on a lap and playing with a piece of string, holding it across her forehead. That frightened me—she’ll end up in a TN as one of those girls who wears a headband across her forehead!

I’d wondered where Migi was while Tav was out searching for MC. At least he showed up safe for his sweet scene with Uncle Tav.

I was rofl when Sergio Acosta had his one minute cameo as the police detective. Can’t have a TN without him in it!

So, in the end, a happy ending for our two non-kissing lovers requires the assistance of a fairy godmother! Nice that the crazy lady has an indulgent husband. Clementina made the kind gesture of giving MC her pearl necklace, but MC wasn’t wearing it at the wedding.

I did like the wedding gown being an upgraded version of MC’ old “salvaje” dresses. We didn’t have a monkey, but we did have a donkey. Loved Maria dancing solo and with the pilots.

The rancho grounds made a beautiful background for the wedding and final scenes.

Where was Mark Tacher? I read the cast list on Wikipedia where he was supposed to play Alvaro's son.

Thanks to everyone spending their time ont his show so the rest of us didn't have to. Happy CI-free New Year to you all.

Now, when does the Christian de la Fuente one start? I caught bits and it looks good, although after this, I'm not sure my standards may be too low to trust.

Kelly

JoseAngel, they cut the scene with MC, when she was thinking about Octavio in cafe. Also they cut wedding. They cut the beginning of the ceremony, shame on them!!!!
Alegria

La Paloma,

"That frightened me—she’ll end up in a TN as one of those girls who wears a headband across her forehead!

Heh heh.

Be still my heart...I love those girls in those headbands. I especially liked Maricruz's headband of daisies with her lovely wedding dress.

Carlos

Thanks for the recap!

Look what I got out of my nose! Funny!

I have several questions. I quit watching this show long ago.

1 what happened to Tobias and Oct's first wife? Wasn't she preggers? What happened to the kid?

How did they find out that Solitary was raped and by whom? Short story, not the novel.

Cynderella

Thank you CeCe and Vivi for two great recaps

Vivi---I loved some of your lines
in the second half. They were---
#1---I'm sure Juanita doesn't want
MC to mess this sweet deal up for her.
#2---Tav just wants to break free of this creepy lady and see MC.
#3---When you love someone as I love you, you do whatever it takes, or you wait around for their sensible nanny to call you.
#4---It was touching when Maricruz
said that she finally feels a mothers love which she's never had

Carlos---Two of your photo captions really did it for me. they were---Celia has been accepted to the prestigious Fresno Beauty School. And---No more punch for Maria. LOL

Oh! Carlos, I hoped you noticed that Lupita got her "required fifteen minutes" last night and then some.

I told myself this morning that I would have to wade through the negativity today and I was right. I am up to comment #39 thus far. I have been trudging and sludging through mountains of negativity
for several months now. I have been fighting an uphill battle mostly all by myself but like the guy from Duck Dynasty, I'm not backing down. You guys can call me a simpleton or a dumb gringo, I
DON'T CARE. I LOVED IT, I LOVED IT, I LOVED IT. If you take CI and break it down to it's simplest
form you have---boy meets girl, boy looses girl, makes several mistakes and is miserable until--
You can also turn it around---girl
meets boy, girl looses boy, makes several mistakes and is miserable
until---You can cry and complain about every detail along the way but can never get past the basic premise of the story or the great and beautiful chemistry that Ana Brenda and Daniel had together and yes, that chemistry was there
even when they were fighting. There was also the GREAT cast, everyone was just perfect. That's what I say and I'm sticking to it.
the gringo

They could've cut so much that was pure drivel (gossipy "ladies"), repetitive action (Maria/Burro) and total unnecessary dreck (Alvaro and family) and given us a few tied-up loose ends, even short scenes: Show the JackAss receiving a summons where MC sues him for robo and fraude (surprise, surprise, Super Mari accountant has known all along he'd been stealing from her and has all the books to prove it - she just had more important things to deal with, such as throwing herself into prison); show Doris running around Mexico in the same cab Tav was looking for MC with the cabbie scratching his head and saying, "well, this is where I left him." Have Doris scream at the ineptos at the hospital, MC's night job, Alvaro's staff, and even at Eduardo - before running home crying to Daddy and to take her place as the Hija Del Gobernador and rule Isla Dorada with a screechy fist; show Tobias and the servant lady from Don Ale's house moving in as the new, rightful owners of the house and show Tobias being driven to his business, Tobias Charm School - where we groom the salvaje right out of you in three months or less!

Pathetic if you ask me, but I'm not surprised. They also edited the last few episodes by trimming a few scenes. Thanks for answering my Q. I'll search for the deleted scenes on Youtube.

Anon: ITA! Wow...I love your closures....hilarious and more entertaining that what we actually were given.

Gringo- I'm glad you liked a lot of the recap, and I'm also glad you like the show.

You're right that: 1)This is a classic story-- but there's a right way to do it, and there's a wrong way, and this was the wrong way; 2) The leads had great chemistry--- which the writers wasted by having them in hardly any scenes together for the majority of the tn, and even when they were briefly together, not allowing them to show us the sparks; and 3) There were some great actors in this tn-- who I had seen do fantastic work in other tns, and who were given dreck or next to nothing to work with here. This had great potential (and a great start), but it was left at just that-- potential. The reality was quite different. But I agree, that this really COULD have been a good telenovela.

I think it could have been a stellar TN and agree the cast was great. One caveat on the cute little girl that played Lupita would have been better if she was a sentient being). The bad guys and girls were consistent, (save for Natasha who found Jesus). I also understand in order for this thing to play out for months you have to have some misunderstandings to keep the lovers apart but it seemed only Octavio in the end was into it (saw more spark between Clem and Frank and their little smooch) and why I'm just disappointed.

I watched a little of the after show program and lord AB talked and talked and talked and talked.

Cynderella- To answer your questions:

1) Tobias- we don’t have any idea what happened to him after MC lost Don Ale’s wealth and had to sell the house. He was never mentioned again.
2) MC was Tav’s first wife. Simona was his second wife, and yes she had a son by him. She is living happily on her ranch with their son and her second husband who is a doctor who removed her brain tumor.
3) Solita- No one ever confirmed with Solita that she was raped. MC speculated about it, but did nothing to find out who did it. Santa and JA suspected it was Ewsebio who did it, but never mentioned this to MC. They also suspected that seeing Ewsebio’s twin brother was messing with Solita’s head, but once again did nothing to deal with this issue or to help Solita understand that it wasn’t the same person. I’m making myself angry as I write this, so I’ll just stop.

britishcomedyfan- The Mark Tacher thing was always a lie. It's an example of how unreliable Wikipedia can be. People often seed it with lies and misinformation.

I promised to say, what I think about all this.
I watched this final with Mexico deep at night. And I was choked. Everything was soooooo boring. And nothing interest at all. It puzzled me very much, so I even didn't sleep at all. I couldn't understand what they wanted to show with all this. You know, I studied Philology, I work as a scenarist at TV. I'm not writing novelas, but I'm working with texts. That is why I was so shocked. I saw a lot of good final, lot of bad final. But this final is unique. There is nothing in it. NOTHING. So I want to ask what was it???? Why they put that lines with the painting. Who cared? All week we spend with crazy Elsa. What for? Was it church wedding or civil wedding? Or was it 2 in 1? And millions other questions.
And one more. I think, that director try to make last scenes with MC and Octavio look like their romance and wedding in the beginning. That is why in the room were a lot of hugs and they shake hand like they did, when they met each other. The wedding also was a copypast. The same dress. Octavio once again had to ask MC to sign the papers, her smily face to Solita. Octavio kissed her on the forehead, as he did then. All this we say during first wedding. When thet were working it also remind me their journey to the house. So I think, that idea was good and clever, but only if our lead couple was together even few episodes before the final. When I saw fotos of MC in Tav's room with LUpita and then I saw fotos, where Ana Brenda was with children, I was sure, that she will live with Tav for some time before like happy family. I thought, that they both will fight against Doris or someone else. All my experience told me, that is the only way to make final episodes interesting. But I got Elsa for the last 5 episodes and leads met each other in the last 30 minutes. I'm shocked once again.
It's really the most disappointing novela ever end ever.
Alegria

Alegria- Thanks for pointing out how this wedding mirrored the first. The idea really was a good one, in theory. They just needed to execute it better. I like your idea that it would have been nice had they shown MC and Tav living together with the kids, and being loving with each other, before the wedding. That would have been really nice.

I too thought they were trying to be clever and build to a final kiss at the end but the way it came off was just silly. They had them in a garden, their love song being sung (lip sync), the perfect time for a k...aaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh, nope. In fact I was kinda shocked when they did kiss at the end so maybe that is what they wanted, a gotcha moment.

Larger issue for me was I had no sympathy for MC at the end. It was like once Lucia was gone she was suffering from PTSD.

For all you naysayers, the gringo isn't done yet.

With all of CI's faults, you guys might think that I am stubborn and just accept things blindly--not so. I have stated on several occasions that there were things that I didn't like or would have changed if I could have and like many of you, well probably all of you, I too had said WHY? this or WHY? that, but like I said, the overall concept, the great cast, the beautiful locations and the several storyline changes like different chapters in a book kept me wanting more. I was for the most part, a happy camper.

Several random thoughts, not in order.

OK!!! So there weren't 50 kisses at the end, SO WHAT??? Carlos said in a past novela that he loved the great big smiles. Well,
the smiles on MC's face when she was beginning to realize her dream was finally coming true
were PRICELESS!!!

Another great facial expression and perfection in acting was when
Maricruz first saw Tav come into the bedroom at the mansion. OMG!!
What a powerful scene.

I loved the many flashbacks we got along the way last night.

Daisynjay---No resolution for the staff who served her father. We don't know that. There could have been large severance pay packages
when the mansion was sold.

CeCe---What happened to Karim and Teo? They're living well with a great lifetime job at the casino.

What happened to Doris?---Doris went back to the island to cry and pout.

Did Tav and MC ever grow up---yes

How did the novela reach the heights of success?--I answered that earlier but once again, with
a great basic story, with two great leads and a great supporting cast.

Several have has asked questions like What happened to all of the money that JA stole. He lived nicely on it. Should he have been caught? OH YES! Well, he wasn't caught but he paid the price for his bad deeds.

As I have said, I looked past CI's
short comings. Where are the cell phones? Ok, someone on the set stole them.
Why did he do this--why did she do that? blah blah blah

Anti climatic ending? I know most wanted more kisses but just seeing the final camera shot of the two of them together after a long haul, was beauty for me.

Vivi---I can't leave without mention of your analysis. I agree with much of what you said but you were pretty hard on Maricruz.
As I told Latina, I too wanted her to be smart, strong and courageous in the end but I don't think that her picture is quite as bad as you painted her. She made mistakes but didn't have a mother and father to guide her thru much of her life. She's growing and will do just fine, she still has her good heart. When I was younger I used to look up to certain people. I guess that in my mind, I had them on a pedestal but somehow they always fell off and the bubble around them burst. Maricruz made mistakes, a lot of them but she is growing and her future looks bright. Tav too. Maybe together--
well two cells are better than one
right?

VIVA CORAZON INDOMABLE!!!
the gringo

Vivi in DC, I think, that someone always tried to look things better. May be it was a director. he had the script from Romero and tried to make it worth of watching. But he couldn't change it.
Once again I can't understand, why this novela is so popular everywhere. And it is. I read a lot of comments from different counties and everybody think the same way about this novela as we do. So why?
Alegria

Vivi, don't forget that José Antonio decided that he'd like a bit of Solita after they moved back to the farm but when he tried to put a move on her, she returned the favor with a move of her own.

I'm still annoyed at the way that Solita was presented and treated throughout this TN.

Carlos

Carlos- Oh, yes. I remembered. I just needed to stop writing about it before my head exploded.

IDEA---Alegria, VIVI, Latina---Let's get the Caray team together and work on a CI#4. Who knows what we could come up with.
the gringo

CI#4 would be all about Solita and her VENGANZA! Now THERE is a person who should have a gigantic chip on her shoulder - and her monkey, too! Her first target: whoever was responsible for having her wear her hair in pigtails throughout the whole tn.

Anon 4:58- OMG! That would be so awesome. Solita would get implants to allow her to hear, learn to speak like she had been doing it all her life, get a new name, dump husband #1, get a nanny for her kids, find Tobias to get lady lessons, and change her hair and style-- no one would recognize her, and plot her revenge...oh, wait, that sounds really familiar... LOL!

A big "thank you" to everyone who recapped throughout the season!

I agree that the scenes about Alonso's painting could have been dropped. That was not a loose end that needed to be tied up.

On the other hand, why didn't Doris get an anvil? The governor revoked her allowance, so she should have been busing tables somewhere, maybe at that last restaurant where Maricruz worked.

And isn't every telenovela supposed to have a scene where someone tries to break up the wedding ceremony? For a few seconds, I thought that Camila Blanes was Doris disguised as a boy.

I adored Maricruz's wedding dress. It reminded me of the Gunne Sax dresses from the late 1970s.

eCe/ViviDC/Carlos: Thank you for this muy entertaining recapping fin, despite the fizz being gone you gave it the pzzazz it needed --not only this week but each and every week you were responsible and on deck, especially these last lonnnnnnng weeks. I know it wasn't easy once the show went flat. Ditto for Adriana Noel, EliPerez and La Paloma, LatinaMD. All of you had wonderfully entertaining recaps and side commentary throughout contained mucho snortworthy asides, and of course, Carlos's naughty captions were to die for--laughing and hawking all the way!

==============================================

As for this show--it was night and day between first half and last half. In the end it became a masochistic mess with Poor Tav, the galan, continually stuck between a rock and a hard on, always looking for his love in all the wrong places., AND doing it ENDLESSLY!!!!! And then NARY a bit of NAUGHTY nooky anywhere in sight????!!????!

Now, for questions remaining about those characters who never made it to closure, i.e., their ever to be unsolved mysterious and undisclosed futures:

1) Does Alvaro never get his lunatic teenager the legitimate professional help she needs? Did he get an invitation? Did he bother to send a gift?

2) How long did Doris stand around waiting for Tav to show up and what was the thing she was going to do as that last threat of making sure he wouldn't forget her?

3)Did Doris jump off the top of Tav's apartment building? Did Tav finally tell Doris to stuff a sock in it and take a flying leap off the top of his apartment building?

4)Did Maricruz NEVER share that special bit of pillow talk with Tav about her getting Doris' daddy to back off the threat to ruin his reputation with the airlines via slander and liable so that Tav finally knew he really never ever had to marry Salmona and eat her fecal droppings?

5) Did Jose Antonio ever return the milliones de pesos that he stole from M/C?

When I think of all the wasted hours invested with this one.....Ah well, it's now onward and definitely upward.

I just watched the whole "Sal y Pimienta" show. Oh, it was really good. I laughed a lot. Why natalie and Romero didn't used that chemistry between all actors. Why they made them look so dull?
Alegria

CeCe/Vivi/Carlos - thanks for this final recap. Unfortunately it was anticlimactic but this group was the best! Thanks for the memories and I hope no one get caught up in a tn like this again.

That scene showing "Liberacion". That seemed like an obvious cameo. Was that the director and writer? (Boo hiss)

Thanks so much Cece, Vivi, and Carlos for our last recap well done!

Jardinera - your list was hilarious! ITSA

Doris? Doris didn't show up to make a scene at the wedding? I couldn't believe it.

MC and Tav never found out so many things that happened. Tav has no idea Maricriz launched that search party, as well as getting his deportation and charges rescinded.

Audrey, Tav knew about search party. He told this to Miguel, when he was ill. But we didn't know who told him.
I feel, that they cut maybe 20 episodes. I mean, they cut soooo many scenes, that it would be enough for 20 episodes. But sometimes I felt happy, that they cut scenes. For example, in the final episode Maria must clean her Filimon near Clementina house. There are a lot of fotos showing all this. But we are lucky, they cut this.
Alegria

I guess MC and Tav have the rest of their lives to clear up the misunderstandings and missed info from the past four years.

MC: Hey, remember when you left me and never sent money back to support me like you promised?
Tav: Wait. What? I did send money back, via my brother. You mean you never got that money?...

I thank all the recappers for the wonderful work they have done. I appreciate your diligence and commitment throughout this CI adventure.

I enjoyed the show a lot despite some of the issues. I will say that I agree with others that there should have been a more passionate reunion at the end. Oh, well.

I would be sad that CI has ended if I had not become hooked to Por Siempre Mi Amor and Lo Que La Vida Me Robó.

I wish all recappers, commentors and lurkers (like me for the most part) a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. :-)

Caryn

I just couldn't stay away from CI.
I had to check back for any late comments and there are a few.

Aleta---Doris busing tables was so funny, I still laughing even as I write.

Vivi---Your Maricruz/Tav money support conversation was also very funny.

Caryn---You don't know how good you made me feel. You actually liked CI even in spite of the issues? After being on the Caray
blog for all this time, I thought
that I was the only one left in the world that felt that way.
the gringo

Gringo- You, amigo, deserve an award for most loyal tn fan. I solute you. Very few people could stand up for something they like/enjoy/love against so much ridicule. It shows that you are strong and loyal, and that you also have a sense of humor and can let stuff roll off your back. I thank you for sticking with us complainers, gifting us with your great comments, and trying to make us see the best in these characters, even when had no desire to.

@gringo - in case you are still lurking for late comments, I just want you to know that regardless of my opinion about C.I., or about how the monkey writers destroyed MC as a character, I'm still a huge fan of Ana Brenda. In fact, since none of the current novelas appeal to me, I am going to start rewatching LQNPA and commenting on it with a friend who didn't get to see it when it premiered on Univision almost two years to the date. And believe me, I do know how you feel reading all the negative comments about C.I. when you obviously like it so much. I love, love, love LQNPA, so I was shocked to see some of the recaps and comments that CarayCaray still has in its archives about that one - I wasn't familiar with this site at the time that LQNPA was first broadcast, which is probably a good thing, because I would have been pulling my hair out constantly reading so much negativity about a novela that is among my Top Five favorite novelas of all time - and I have been watching novelas for over thirty years.

Vivi - great idea that conversation! Perfect! In fact, I'll imagine MC and Tav have all those conversations, and I'll imagine that Santa and the accountant tell Maricruz all the things that went down at the ranch. Whew - I feel so much better! Closure! :)

Thanks Vivi, Cece , and Carlos, for your joint effort to send CI off into the wild, blue yonder. The show just seemed to deflate , and it went out with a whimper amid a lot of unfamiliar faces whom we cared about even less than the familiar faces who became so frustrating and clueless. Could both Mari and Oblivio be bipolar or might they both have Asperger's ? Wow..what a marriage if either is true.

I did like Mari's 70s flower power headpiece and hippie wedding gown very sweet. What a blast from the past.

Tis the season to move on.

To quote our Carlos,,,,,NEXT. !

Carlos, was the caption about the knife a shout out to Crocodile Dundee ?

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you to all the recappers for CI. I am wondering what will happen to Tav's son by Simona (did he forget about him) , Teo, Carola's sister (can't remember her name) and the weird relationship between Clem and Tav, and a lot more.

Thank heaven this thing is over .I too watched the interview with the actors on S&P, they seemed relieved as well.

LatinaInMd- I am one who was negative about LQNPA, but I will be the first to say it was (for the most part) a quality TN. The plot didn't meander too much and the characters I saw at the fin were the same ones I saw the first episode. There were very few loose ends at the end. We can't say the same about CI.

I also couldn't get behind the physically abusive galan in LQNPA, but like Sara, thought it was a quality tn. Even with having to jump through some hoops to accommodate the illness of the male lead, it still made sense and kept a logical thread (something CI never did). But that tn had many fans among the commenters throughout. Not anywhere near as brutal as we on CI were. In fact, I think there were more enthusiastic Rogelio supporters than vocal detractors, like me, Sara, and Karen.

And there was smoking hot chemistry between AB and Jorge Salinas which we actually got to enjoy through most of the TN.

Sara- Yep. That too. And the writers/director/producer gave the audience plenty of opportunities to see that chemistry. They knew what they were doing.

I am actually watching bits and pieces of LQNPA on DVD this morning and I'm thinking AB did a better job in it than she did CI.

Susanlynn, yes of course that was a shout out to Crocodile Dundee... it was not the first time I've used that line nor, I suspect, will it be the last. To bad Crocodile Dundee wasn't nearby to deliver that line himself and rescue Maricruz.

I thought it was amusing when, I think it was Juanita, assured Octavio that the wound wouldn't leave a bad scar... I know that was the first thing that I was worried about.

I also appreciated LQNPA as a well-made TN, but I criticized Rogelio on an almost daily basis and still think that even now he should be be wheeling himself around in a Mexican prison.

Carlos

Vivi---Thank you for the kind words.

LatinainMD.---I LOVED LQNPA as well as you. Maybe I'm just a sucker for country--rancho themes.
But yes, Ana Brenda y Jorge Salinas were nothing less than great. As I remember Rogelio started out as very mean and bitter man. I understood what made him that way and I liked watching. his transformation. To make it short, like you, it will always be one of my favorites also

Susanlynn---I liked the wedding gown and flower headpiece as well.
The headpiece made me think of the wild flowers where Maricruz grew up. I know that they were probably not the same kind but you
know where I'm coming from.
Your Carlos---NEXT! made me laugh.
the gringo

Well, I've been a lurking complainer myself too, but I'd like to say that I LOVE Gringo's positivity. If everyone were as positive as our Gringo, the world would be a better place. An exaggeration? I don't think so. . I also respect the fun ying and yang of the repartee of Carlos and Gringo, they kept their differences on the high road, all in fun for all to enjoy!

I'm a huge fan of Ana Brenda's and particularly enjoyed her chemistry with little Benadrylita. Hope she has children of her own soon. Daniel was cute with Migualito as well.

Merry Christmas!

Sandy in TN

P.S JudyB, do you go to movies? You'd LOVE Philomena....

I can't believe it. Our Gringo has actually made a COMPLAINT over on the Por Siempre Mi Amor thread! I think we've been a bad influence on him.

Gringo, you are not the one. I was watching with you once again. I watched it with Mexico end it wasn't enough for me :)))
It's not the best novela ever, but it has a lot great viewers all over the world. It's true.
It's hard for me not to have everyday doze of caray-caray recaps and comments about CI.
You all were great. Thanks a lot. And for support also.
I hope someday we'll find new novela to watch together :)))
Alegria

Thank you Sandy in TN
Aleta---Yes, maybe one day.
Aleta---You made me laugh but come
on---Yes I did complain over at Por Siempre Me Amor but the complaint had merit.

It's now Christmas Eve. For those who celebrate on the eve, I hope you all have happiness with your families or with someone close to you.

For those who wait for the big day tomorrow, MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Carlos---Go easy on the tequila, CI is over.
the gringo

Seriously, worst TN ever!!!!!!!! The dogs producing dis, thumbs down!!!!!!!,,,

Present in Kenya, but this is the worst tn have watched so far.

Counting down to its end, Doris, eduardo, aracely where ve they been all this time?

Maricruz & Octavio are horrendous as a couple. Ana brenda was good in sortilegio but since then am not contented with her acting skills.

Am a fan of villans as this is what makes the TN interesting but the villans present are not credible.

I wonder if the executive producer watched it before airing. R.I.P Corazon Indomable

My thoughts.......shinamum

Oh thank you so much for this wonderful summary. I loved your comic chip-in's too! I currently live in Nigeria, and one of our local stations is showing this telenovela at the moment(i needed an extra scoop on it). So glad I found your page. Maria Cruz and Octavio's love is a true one :)

Whenever you can, i'd love to have you visit my page www.lilyofnigeria.blogspot.com
