Corazon Indomable #150 – Thursday, 12-5-13 – Mean Girls in Women’s Prison Are Like Mean Girls Everywhere, Except with Uglier Clothes.

Some scenes are combined and may not be in strict viewing order.

News of Maricruz’ Tragic Situation Spreads to the Lower Rungs of Society

The lawyer (Navarro?) tells Octavio that Maricruz has been transported to the Women’s Prison. Tav asks what can Navarro do? Not much—he couldn’t get MC to recant her original confession or alter any of her testimony. Tav feels her case is hopeless, as she’s presumed guilty. (His case is hopeless as well—we know he sold himself to Doris in exchange for the lawyer’s fees.)

News of the murderous Maricruz spreads quickly beyond the city’s top drawer of art and culture to her circle of friends and family:
  •     Natasha calls Padre Julian with the scandal. He saw the papers but can’t believe the news. He’s happy Natasha sold her painting for the benefit of the poor.
  •     JA tells Ester what he heard from the padre. He believes neither the nude pose nor the killing, although MC testified she couldn’t control her rage. Ester reminds JA how impulsive MC always was and asks when will he forget his old love. He stomps out to collect rent.
  •     Padre Julian continues his rounds, finding Alvaro on the job site and sharing the scandal. Alvaro will try to help. In a later conversation, he tells the padre he’s taken a two-weeks leave to go help MC. No matter her situation, she’s fragile deep down inside and Alvaro can’t forget her. (Why don’t they gather all of MC’ love victims into a SWAT team to bust her out of prison?)
  •     Perico comes home to break the bad news to Solita and Nilda. He tells Soli not to worry, MC didn’t really pose naked! She’s a good person, who wouldn’t hurt anyone. (OK, naked or clothed, the bigger worry is the prison sentence.) Nilda will try to help.
In an update, Celia and Mechita are at home, recovering from the drama. Celia, on the phone, advises Clementina to get some rest. Mechita, calmly reading a fashion rag, listens to her mother critique prisoner MC as a bad example. Meche wonders if it isn’t better to kill men like Alfonso. The pain is going away and she’s almost ready to start looking for another fiancé. (Just as well we’re near the end or this girl could do some serious damage. Maybe she should go hang with Doris and look over the casino customers.)

MariCruz Is in the Big House (No, Not the Hacienda)
We know MC is now in a new environment—a TN rat poses for a photo op in the hallway as MC walks with the guard. Opening the cell door, the guard announces her cellmate is in the top bunk. A familiar voice emerges from the shadows “You don’t recognize me?” No puede ser! It’s MC’ old antagonist, Carola Canseco. “What are you doing here,” inquires MC. “None of your business! It’s not for being a good girl.” And, the fun begins!

Carola asks for details of MC’ crime of passion and, “What about your pilot?” MC mutters “I can’t believe I have to put up with this the rest of my life!” (Shoulda thought about this kind of thing before jumping into prison, hmm?)  MC suggests they try to get along, but Carola enjoys prodding her cellmate.  In a series of scenes, Carola and MC commence a verbal battle. C—We’re not in the casino now. M—Right, we’re in a prison cell. C—No one here will protect you, you can’t avoid me. M—Let’s get along, you know I won’t yield. C—Prison is a jungle full of wild beasts. M—Yes, there’s one in my cell. Carola promises unrelenting torment (prison life can get boring, what with the routine, the confinement, the bad food and ugly uniforms).

MC again pleads to be left alone. Carola promises her a life of living hell. MC threatens that she’s capable of killing, so Carola confesses she also killed a man. They’re both there for the same reason! (It’s a long way from all those evening gowns at the casino.) MC asks once more for peace between them, with Carola responding “Not a moment’s peace.”

Meanwhile Back at the Ranch
JA continues to enjoy his routine of tormenting the tenants for their rent. He oppresses an old man, extending the deadline until that night. The old man drops to his knees in gratitude (not!). His next target is a family. He threatens them, including their “whining kids.” He rides away so fast that he has to clutch his hat firmly to his head.
A snake, imprinted with an “Acme Anvil Co.” label, glides across his path. JA’s startled horse rears, throwing its rider. He’s dragged behind the horse (with a rope around his ankle attached to the saddle at the other end.) He yells in pain and panic during this rough ride. Later, Amador and Santa find his scraped, bloody and unconscious body on the ground. They drape him face down over the saddle and take him home to Ester. (Yes, the potential for further damage is there, if we cared.) Santa claimed he was dragged with his foot caught in the stirrup. (Cause and effect not clear, but the rope was the dragging agent, IMO. Again, we may not really care—just pleased JA is seriously injured.) The doctor at the clinic says his injuries are serious, even mortal, as he begins treatment.

MariCruz Widens Her Circle of Acquaintance

MC sits on her bunk, thinking about Lupita and that she’ll be taken care of.  A pleasant inmate, Cira, introduces herself, offering to talk anytime MC feels like talking. Carmela, another blonde, is Carola’s sidekick who promises she’ll gladly help torment MC. (She’s played by Maya Mishalska, who was the crazy/evil teacher in CCEA and Ursula, lover of William Levy in Pasion.) She’s not only a mean girl but sorta BSC. She picks at MC, asking for smokes over and over. MC finally tells her “Go to hell!” and Carmela says they’ll go together.

The guard, Teresa, makes Carmela leave. She explains many inmates have their own personality and MC will have to get used to that. Does she have children? MC admits she has a daughter, but may well have grandchildren by the time she gets out of prison.

MariCruz Meets a Mysterious Benefactor

Tav tries to visit MC at the prison, but missed visiting hours. He leaves and is hailed by Doris on the street from her car. (Stalker!) They have a discussion, which is mostly ShutupDoris! He’s a fool to keep loving MC, but he made an agreement with her. She wants to get away, so they should take the kids and return to Golden Isle. Let the lawyer handle MC stuff.

MC is told she has a visitor. Sure that it’s Juanita, she goes to the visiting area. (Carmela is arm wrestling a man who is visiting her. Amusing, but QTH?) MC is amazed to see Doris (dressed in a little black dress, perfect for every time and place). Asking why, MC learns that Doris in interested in her situation. Doris is sympathetic, MC skeptical, as the GovDau reveals how grateful Tav is that MC saved him by her confession. She slips and reveals that she and the Gov are fronting the funds to pay the defender.

MC is impactada. She thought Tav was paying her defense, but not so. She tells Doris she can save the money! MC will get a public defender. Doris also spills the news that she and Tav are getting married.

While Doris is busy in prison, Tav has gone to see Juanita. She explains that MC made the confession and maintains her guilt in order to save Tav from the accusation of murder.

Our actual murderer (or accidental killer?), Anibal, is mentally rampaging and sporting a pair of crazy eyes. That bastard Alfonso stole my painting, he removed my signature and put his on it! Von Klaus! I have to go to Germany, find Von Klaus, and get my painting back!

Previews     We see Anibal again, telling Natasha what actually happened.
In a classic “mean girls” scene, Carmela pushes MC in the prison cafeteria, forcing her to spill her        tray on Carola.

Great recap. Otherwise, no comment. LOL

La Paloma, thanks for the recap and a good laugh with "a snake imprinted with the 'Acme Anvil' logo." That it truly was.

I am also enjoying Mechita more and more as her real personality with a "twist " is revealed.

Looks like Maricruz will get framed tonight as Carola gets "trayed". LOL

Oh well, we are inching ever closer to a happy finale, aren't we?

Jarifa

@La Paloma - another excellent recap. I loved the "Acme Anvil logo" reference too.

La Paloma, I'm still chuckling. Great recap. I'm looking forward to watching this episode and watching JA get his snake anvil. Yay!

(Why don’t they gather all of MC’ love victims into a SWAT team to bust her out of prison?)

So funny, la Paloma. No matter how disjointed the episode, you always bring wit and humor to the recap. Loved your description of Doris in her little black dress, "perfect for every occasion", including tormenting prison visits.

Counting the days...as I'm sure you are. In the meantime, thanks for keeping us up to date on the mayhem.

Thanks, la Paloma.

The woman with the long , blonde hair in jail often plays a baddie. She was a Pasion and looked great in the period costumes. She looks like she will be a BSC prison bully. Yikes. Will she and Carola tag team our poor , innocent Mari ? Too bad the prison garb in Mexico is not that bright neon orange . i think Mari could rock that orange look.

Alegria- Just saw your late comment on yesterday's recap. I think folks are always hard on the heroine and hero because we expect more from them than from side characters. And MC is definitely not getting as much criticism as some other heroines-- you should see the stuff said about whiney/self-centered Elisa in Abismo!

You can't deny that MC has made many stupid choices-- admitting to a murder and trying her best to get the maximum sentence, just being the latest stupid choice.

But Tav is both stupid, AND obtuse and insensitive, so he still doesn't deserve her.

I repeat, I have never said that Simona is a great person or an angel. But her dive of the deep end coincided with her tumor, and her return to the land of normal coincided with the removal of her tumor. For me, this is one of the few logical story arcs in this nonsensical tn. Ofelia is loyal, and often sees the situation more clearly than whatever crazy employer she has at the moment, but she’s also a beyotch who thinks she’s superior to MC. This has never changed from the beginning. You have to credit the writers with keeping some things consistent, since they have been so bad at this.

Her name is Maya Mischalska and she has been in a lot. I was watching a video with a compilation of Villain Karmageddeons and I saw hers in Mujer de Madera. She was given one I would have loved for Carlota of ENDA with being haunted by the body count she has contributed to and with. Also Ewwsebio was in it and he was the one who burned Marisa (Edith Gonzalez) and his karmageddeon was being squished under a huge piece of wood. I kinda wanna watch that novela to see if it's that bad as others have named it to be. Speaking of MDM, I wanna see Raiza again (Ana Paty Rojo) Shouldn't she know that her sister is in prison? Maybe she will be in the finale? I wonder how the casino is being held. Also when I saw Jose Asstonio being pulled by the horse, I just thought, excuse me while I LMAO! I was cracking up and then when his beaten and battered body was found by Santa, my dad scowled in awe. His anvil came right in time just as he got off yelling at people who didn't have cash. I still can't wait to see what they have in store for Doris and maybe even Carola if prison ain't enough for her. I wonder who was the man she had killed...

Vivi in DC, sorry, que???? What comments????
Alegria

Sorry Alegria. I was reading too fast. It was Vida2. Vida- The above response was for you.

So very funny and very entertaining, Paloma. Well done. The title is perfection. Thanks also for mentioning the rat's cameo. Just one, but he looks very well-nourished. I guess with a monkey, a burro, a cow and calf for milking, beautiful horses, a herd of cattle, and I'm sure that I'm leaving someone out, that the non-human performers budget was stretched thin... therefore just the single rodent.

Carola's back... yawn.

José Antonio's down... yay!

Alvaro's back... what happened to the tuba?

CorazónSalvaje, I watched Mujer de Madera and even though not the most compelling TN, it had some wonderful characters (a much better Perico than we have here) and some great lines ("Un poco de sexo no nos vendria mal.").

vida2, at least we're watching and commenting. I think that even you and gringo might admit that Maricruz has made a few mistakes along the way.

Carlos

Thanks for the recap! I was so happy when JA got his. Hope it continues. I thought it was interesting that Santa didn't look to upset, at the site or at the hospital.

Wouldn't it be nice if all of the people MC has been kind to gathered together to support her, and her lawyer. Maybe then she will change her confession.

Or will Natacha divulge the crazy guy's confession? I don't think she has anything against MC so why would she withhold from the police. Maybe we will find out tonite.

Oh Doris. I was glad to see you again in the beg. but now I am sick of you again and hope you go away soon!

I am expecting one of the prison psychologists/counselors/desk persons to also fall head over heels with MC, just alike all the other men have done. Surely one of them could pull some strings to help out our heroine.

La Paloma, because of your recap, I will have to watch this episode just to see the "snake". Thanks for a well done accounting.

Loved JA holding his hat firmly on his head, will also watch for that. Thanks again.

Thanks, La Paloma, I loved your title.

I am aghast that Maricruz took the fall for Dumtavio but his great sacrifice is being the boytoy of Doris? And even that, he continues to question if she really did it, never once realising that she made this great sacrifice for him. I hope she realises now how she is toooooo goooood for him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Perhaps what is so compelling is how so many women do this kind of thing all the time.

I am so very glad that karma finally found the JackAss. If only it were so in real life.

As for a police guy to become smitten by those dazzling dimples, there was a guy with short, dark hair sitting at a desk whom I was smitten by.....I vote for him to fall under the Mari mojo.

Since its a female prison, I think it would be better for MC if one of the female prisoner guards came under the spell of the dimples.

Daniela...I hear you, girl.

Mari's sacrifice for the Big O...I am getting an O. Henry's "Gift of the Magi" vibe. Did Oblivio sell his watch ?

La Paloma---Thank you--Thank you--
Thank you. I know that none of the recappers like or even care about Corazon Indomable anymore. I think that Vida2 and I are the only ones left that still like CI.
I am amazed and in awe over the great job that you did on this episode. I had braced myself for
"another" mountain of complaints from the whiners and there were some "it will be over soon" comments but I have to tell you that you kept me smiling and laughing all through episode 150.
Your writing was brilliant. Even things that weren't funny were written so well. like, the news of the murderous Maricruz spreads quickly beyond the city's top drawer of art and culture to her circle of friends and family.---Gather all of MC' love victims into a swat team to bust her out of prison.---Mechita should go and hang out with Doris---Maricruz
is in the Big House and not the hacienda.---The TN rat poses for a photo op.---It's a long way from those evening gowns at the casino.---An Acme Anvil Co. snake.
---They have a discussion which is mostly ShutupDoris.---and the Doris dress that is good for any occasion.------All I can say is that it was a good thing that I wasn't drinking coffee when I read
this or my computer would have been ruined. You out did yourself La Paloma, you earned yourself a 10 for sure on this one.

For all of the whiners and cry babies that wanted past members of the cast back, you got your wish last night.

Vivi---I know that Angelique got crucified on the Abismo posts. Is she getting the same treatment in La Vida Me Robo?

Tough sledding for the Mexican goddess tonight. The mean girls are after her. I CAN'T WAIT---CAN'T WAIT, must see TV.

Comment after comment said, what a "stupid" decision Mari made. I will not argue with that. I have fought for Maricruz against almost all of Caray Land. time and time again. All that I will say this time is that Maricruz will come out of this dark chapter
in her life a stronger person. The sun will shine again and when it does and when Tav get's his brain cells back, I will be there cheering the loudest of all.
the gringo

carvivlie...yes, I think that Mari is an equal opportunity dazzler. Those magic dimples probably work on anyone.

Daniela - and it seemed that Juanita spelled it to dumb Tav last night that MC was doing this all as a sacrifice. But that's just too much for dim bulb to understand. He said he needed to hear that from MC herself - huh?

And there is Juanita right in front of him - MC's alibi, that who one seems to ask.

Thanks so much La Paloma.

oh, I forgot. Oblivio did not sell his watch as his part of the sacrifice . He sold himself to Doris for Mari's lawyer fee. I wonder if lawyers charge as much in Mexico as they do here, I have, unfortunatlely , discovered that American lawyers make a lot of money in custody battles. I cannot imagine what they must charge to defend someone accused of murder.

I have had enough scenes of women behind bars. in PEAM, both the good girl, and the bad girl suffered the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune shot by mean girls in prison.

Well, it looks like a posse is forming to save Mari. .Nilda has cash and Alvaro has muscle...and that tuba. Does the LuvGov know that he and Doris are funding Mari's defense ? I wonder if the ex-Mir can round up some of his former staff to break our girl out if jail. Is Angel still in his employ ? And it looks like jackAss will not be able to join that SWAT team. (What poetic justice for that snakes anvil to come in the form of a snake......satisfying.) Have I forgotten any lovestruck fans of Mari?

Vivi in DC, oh, I see. I thought, that I wrote something, bur forgot about this. It's not easy to think clear now in my country.
By the way, once again I return to the cut scenes. This is the avance for the episode #149. It was shown in Mexico. I think, we missed something important in episode
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BevNYN3H6R0
Alegria

Susanlynn---Alvaro has muscle....
and that tuba. He could stand in front of the prison and play the tuba until the jailers can't stand it anymore and let Mari out LOL Well, it could happen on Planet Bizarro.
the gringo

Wow. Love how voicing your opinion on this nonsensical pile of ... telenovela ... turns one into a whiner or crybaby. Hmmm

Thanks La Paloma, we are getting down to the wire now. Yay.

I think MC made the right decision to confess to the killing of Al. She was a failure at life, she was given a huge chance to succeed and she blew it. She realized that she's not a good role model for Lupita so she might as well spend the rest of her life in jail. Lupita would be better off with Octavio and her cousin and forgetting about her mother. For all the bad we say about Octavio, at least his life decisions resulted in him marrying rich women and living a comfortable lifestyle. That doesn't sound too stupid to me. Admitting you killed someone that you didn't and spending at least 30 years in jail is an idiotic decision. Hmm, the comforts of a beautiful home and family or jail for a lifetime? Who's the one brain cell again? I hope Lupita inherited Octavio's smarts and not MC's.

cathyx,

Heh heh.

Carlos

Cathyx - too true! LOL

MC: I will get my VENGANZA on everybody that made me suffer, and in the process, I will lose all my father's hard-earned fortune; let a longtime childhood friend totally bamboozle and steal from me; ruin my child's life and make her deal with her one-brain daddy; ruin my reputation in the whole city of Mexico so I can become unemployable, then, stupidly, take the blame for a murder I didn't commit and end up in prison with 30 years of chick-fights to look forward to. Yes, take THAT, enemigos!

Thank you, Cathyx and Anon @6:11. Y'all nailed it! The ghosts of Luciafer and Migreedy must be dancing with joy! This is supposed to be a noble act of love? Idiota!

Carlos, I like your new avatar. Perfect for this show.
