Corazon Indomable #152, 12/9/2013: A Bad Day for Burros, Jackasses, and Stubborn Mules

Burro= Filemon
Jackass= Jose Antonio
Mule= MC

Alvaro tells MC that he’s left everything to be by her side. He assures her the lawyer Oblivio got for her is awesome. MC doesn’t care. She doesn’t want anything that comes from Doris. Alvaro offers to pay the lawyer’s fees then.

The slowest bus to Mexico City, pulls Filemon along, with Maria slung over his back, flailing madly. The bus passengers make a commotion seeing the spectacle, the bus is stopped, and the ticked off bus driver cuts Maria and her burro loose. She’ll have to find alternative transport to D.F.

Carola and her fellow mean girl friend make nefarious plans to start a fight with MC, make the teacher guard think MC started the fight, and then have MC thrown in detention solitary. Bwahahaha!

MC turns down Alvaro’s offer. She’s surprised he just came here to see her, but he assures her he’s also visiting his family and taking care of other business. She admits Oblivio has come to see her, but she wants nothing to do with that bastard who’s once again going to marry Doris. But despite that, he’s the best person to take care of Lupita while she’s in jail. (MC doesn’t seem to grasp that by the time she gets out, Lupita won’t need anyone to take care of her. She’s not just asking Tav and Doris to babysit for a few hours!) Alvaro asks if she killed the painter. After a pause, MC stupidly says she did it.

The real culprit, crazy painter guy, has just admitted to a headscarf and headband-free Natasha (I guess the gravity of the scene didn’t allow for fun head gear), that HE killed Alfie.

MC and her prison buddy are moving water around aimlessly with a broom in the prison courtyard. MC continues that lie and tells her buddy that she killed the guy. Her friend doesn’t believe it. She thinks MC is BEYOND STUPID (tell it, sister!), and is likely just taking the blame to protect someone, who won’t be grateful for it.

Crazy painter guy further tells Natasha why he killed Alfie. She wonders why he agreed to let Alfie take credit for his painting, in the first place. He was in need, but then Alfie swindled him. He curls up in fetal position on Natasha’s couch, crying. She’s in shock, but she sits down next to him. Let’s see, a woman, all alone in her apartment with a confessed killer, who is totally out of his head…yep, the first thing I would do is sit down with him, to continue our chat. NOT!

MC continues to try to convince her friend that she killed Alfie. Her friend knows what it really takes to be a cold blooded killer, and MC doesn’t have it. She also doesn’t think MC has what it takes to be imprisoned for 30-40 years. “In this life, there is nothing like freedom!”

Natasha asks if anyone else knows he’s the killer. She suggests that he turn himself in. He seems perfectly ok with the police first accusing Tav, and now accusing the Nude Lady. Natasha says she knows the lady—Maria Alejandra Mendoza, aka Maricruz Olivares. Crazy painter begs Natasha to keep his secret.

MC’s parade of visitors continues. Even though it’s outside of visiting hours, Tav has somehow been granted special permission to see her. He already looks teary eyed when she arrives, and more so when she tells him to leave and that they have nothing to talk about.

Natasha tries to get crazy painter to calm down. Oh, his name is Anibal. How appropriate. Anyway, the scene ends with him accusing Natasha of not wanting to help him, and declaring that he’s going to Germany to get his painting back. He takes off, and Natasha looks worried.

Tav tells MC that he’s come in peace. He’s sure she had nothing to do with Alfie’s death. She wants nothing to do with the lawyer since he’s being paid by Doris, and Tav is paying Doris by marrying her. She then tells him not to be a hypocrite since she knows he’s the one who killed Alfie, and she took the blame to protect him. He swears to her that he didn’t do it. MC is shocked. (All of this could have been cleared up with one simple conversation before either of them made any statements to the police.)

Tav further explains how he was first accused of the crime- he was first on the scene. He knows she took the blame because she loves him, and he loves her too. She admits she could never stop loving him. They both cry. They stand up and, breaking all prison rules, he takes her hand as he declares that he’s always loved her, and never stopped thinking about her, even for a second. She’s a lovely person whom he could never stop loving—his love for her is a profound love (amor del alma). They share a long, romantic kiss.

Simona and Ofelia visit JackAss and Ester at the hospital. The doctor calls Ester away. The nurse tells Simona and Ofelia that she doesn’t think it will be good news.

MC breaks away from the kiss. There’s no point in them kissing if there can never be anything between them. She’s in jail. Now she knows this whole thing could have been avoided had they spoken. (Wow! A common sense admission from one of our leads!) She feels like she owes him for always doubting him. He tells her that isn’t important. They still have time. She says she was once before put in prison because of him, and now once again. But this time, it’s definitive. She thanks him, asks him to care for their daughter, and tells him to marry Doris. He swears he will be the best dad to Lupita, but he will NEVER marry Doris. She tells him not to come back. This is the last time she’ll agree to see him. She will tell the prison admin to not let him in.

The doctor tells Ester that JA will be paralyzed for life. Ester weeps. No movement below the neck. No hope.

Tav tells MC she has to fight for her freedom. He says he knows she would have only posed nude for Alfie for the best of reasons (to help someone else). Nope. MC says she posed nude for him because she and Alfie were getting it on! Tav says she’s lying and just trying to make him angry.

Ester returns to JA’s room weeping. Simona and Ofelia take her out of the room. She tells them what the doctor said. Simona tells her not to lose hope. They’ll take JA to see doctors in Mexico City. Ester doesn’t think there’s any hope. This is a punishment for the wrongs JA did to her, and they both did to MC.

MC continues the stupidity. She demands that Tav marry Doris, and says she (MC) never meant anything to him. She knows Doris, hija del gobernador, is a much better catch than the ex-lover of a dead painter. Tav begs her to stop the madness. Unable to think of anything else stupid to say, MC runs out of the visitors’ room.

Maria and Filemon are walking to D.F., apparently. A truck stops, and for a while it looks like he’ll give the two of them a lift. But then he gets worried that the burro will eat the goods in the back of his truck, and he certainly won’t let him sit in front! Maria and Filemon continue alone on their adventure to D.F.

MC remember Tav’s words of love. Carola and her mean girl friend make MC get between them in the prison conga line.

Clementina berates her husband for not doing more to sink MC. She wants MC to pay for what she did to her son! He seems perfectly ok with MC getting free. If she did it, he’s sure it was self defense. Plus, she has a really great lawyer. Clem wants them to buy off MC’s lawyer!

Seems the prison conga line was a red herring. Carola and her buddy are now on kitchen duty, still trying to figure out how to get MC. Really? The prison lets KILLERS have access to HUGE knives? Carola thought it would be easier to provoke La Mendoza into a fight, since it’s always been so easy before. She accidentally cuts herself deeply on her hand, but decides to make it look like MC did it to her.

Carola’s mean girl friend tells gullible MC that the director wants to see her. Then she stashes the knife under MC’s pillow. MC comes back a second later when she realizes it wasn’t true. Her friend tells Carola everything is all set.

MC is minding her own business, writing a letter in her cell, when her cellmate, Carola, returns. She leans over MC and asks who she’s writing—her pilot? She starts to make a loud stink about MC getting special privileges for visitors, and grabs MC’s letter. MC says she wants peace, but Carola continues to push and they struggle over the letter. MC falls to the bed, and Carola against the cell wall clutching her bloody, cut hand. She yells for help, and her buddy also yells for the guards, telling them that MC tried to kill Carola. She saw it. Carola says she came after her, the same way she did that painter. MC denies it. (Too late to deny a stabbing now, MC.) Carola tells the guards to search for the knife, and the mean guard finds it right there, under the pillow. How convenient.

In a restaurant, Doris and Tav argue about MC.

Carola plays up being too scared to sleep in the same cell with a murderer out to kill her. MC denies, denies, denies. The guards say they’ll put her in the punishment cell until she learns to obey the rules.

Alvaro speaks to MC’s lawyer. Neither of them believes she’s guilty. But it’s hard for him to do his job when she’s declared herself guilty. Alvaro thinks that if she did it, she had a damn good reason-- to defend her honor and her daughter.

Alfie’s teen stalker/ex-lover refuses to leave bed because she’s so depressed. Her aunt is not happy about this. Why should I care?

The guard tells the principal warden about the stabbing incident between Carola and Mendoza. They are both brought before him to learn the punishment.

Avances: MC’s in solitary confinement, but somehow Carola still gets to visit her to taunt her. MC says, if it’s war you want, it’s war you’ll get!

Comments:
I put this comment on the weekend discussion page, but I wanted to add it here as well: If I may add some words in defense of C.I.'s Mexican audience: When I was watching the original Mexican broadcast of C.I., I also regularly followed the official C.I. fan page on Facebook. And believe me, Mexican fans BEGGED....BEGGED....the producer and writers to fix the story when we all saw it heading downhill, especially after Lucia's death. Since it was the production's own fan page, the admin always reassured fans to hold on, that great, exciting, unexpected things were coming. So what happened? The poor fans, who were emotionally invested just like many fans here, held on against all hope. And when they saw what the producer and writers actually came up with, they unleashed their fury. People were seriously angry and made it clear in their comments. By then, of course, they had already been snookered into continuing to support C.I. - THAT, my friends, is the only reason the ratings kept up, although they did show a slight dip in these last few episodes when some fans finally realized that the producer and writers made fools of all of us who held on and watched until the very end.

Don't blame the fans one bit. Usually in a tn the main couple separate because of misunderstandings and miscommunication and that has been the case here in part. But what makes it so frustrating is that even when Octavio and MariCruz sit down and talk things out, as was the case in today's episode, she stupidly decides to continue with her idiotic decisions. Why? They find out neither one of them killed Alfonso. They discover that both of them love each other and will never love another. He tells her he doesn't want to marry Doris. She tells him Alfonso painted her nude without her consent. Yet, seconds later she tells him to go and never come back; that she will refuse to work with the attorney; and that the reason Al painted her in the nude is because she had "everything" to do with him. QQW?? What's up with that, writers? If I were Octavio, I'd say, fine, I'm done. I'm going to be with my daughter. Enjoy your life behind bars. Aaannnddd ... FIN!

Recap is up!

Awesome recap, Vivi. Loved your question near the end - "why should I care?" I'm afraid you and the rest of Viewerville will be asking that question many times during the remaining episodes. sigh

thanks, Vivi, for providing the recap for the walking wounded who remain with this novela.

I just read a quote in the local newspaper explaining the difference between knowledge and wisdom.

" Knowledge is knowing the tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad."

These folks need to think about that message.

Vivi, thank you for your very comprehensive recap. Latina, thanks for the info about the fan reactions in Mexico. Very interesting.

Well, they did manage to frame Maricruz. Too bad Maricruz didn't give Carola a good hair pull, slap or punch before she goes off to solitary being punished for nothing. Maybe she will but it wasn't in the promos. Come to think of it, in that place, solitary could be a good thing. Another good thing is that she can't be in the jail too much longer since Natasha knows the truth and this ends in a week and a half.

Finally, JA got alasting "reward" for his treachery. I am enjoying India Maria more and more and can't wait for her to get to DF.

I wonder how Doris will exit now that she has been rejected yet again by Octavio. Will she turn into her nutsy shrewish self and go over the edge or just fade away with the likes of Teobaldo and Tobias?

Presuming there will be a wedding at the end of all of this suffering, I hope that Padre Julian officiates at the wedding of Maricruz and Octavio. Maybe forgotten members of the cast will show up including the mooonkey. At least a happy ending will tie this up nicely for me.

Jarifa

It's so great to read your own thoughts in recaps.

LatinaInMD, you are 1000000% right about the popularity of this show in Mexico. I will add some facts later at home. The way they lost this novela still make me feel shocked.

You all may be know, that things are not so great here in Ukraine. Sometimes I think, that our president hired those monkey writers.
Alegria

Great recap Vivi! I must say I'm very disappointed in MC. I thought once she found out Tav was innocent she would fight for her freedom. But she is obviously depressed and tired, like all of us watching the show, and just wants it all to end, like all of us watching the show.

Glad JA got some bad news but I fast forwarded through all of Esther's tears. I still don't understand how she can love him when he has treated her like crap from almost the beginning. Now that he can't work, all of that money he stole from MC will come in handy.

Great recap Vivi. Did I detect a note of peevishness with this whole thing? Conga line... exactly what occurred to me last night when I saw the prisoners walking around and Carola invied Maricruz to join in. Do we even need to discuss the ridiculousness of Carola and Carmela's framing of Maricuz? Let's not pick nits... the important thing is that it worked. I was so hoping to see the chubby rat join Maricruz in her isolation cell...maybe tonight.

So now Maricruz and Octavio have finally talked and each realizes that the other is innocent and each loves the other... and she still wants to stick to her story? Can we all agree that Maricruz has at least one screw loose?

Vida2, I saw your comment on my weekend recap... Thanks.

Carlos

Carlos..."conga line"...excellent. ! Count me in. I love conga lines.

As for Carola and friend, I've had rougher characters in detention hall....no rats, luckily.

Lots of tomatoes in this fruit salad. ...enjoy!

Great recap, Vivi. I did get a laugh from India Maria putting tail lights on the donkey, once she and Filemon were left alone to make their way to DF.

Thanks for the info you shared, LatinaInMD. I look at the Telenovela World comments once in a while, and they have been disgusted too. It's painful to be mesmerized by MariCruz at the same time we're angry with her stupidity.

Clementina is behaving equally stupidly, trying to punish MC more than she's already suffering.

At least we were thrown a bone in the form of Tav and MC kissing.

Hi all, it's me again. We are having a snow day today, which means no school for my son and no work for me. Yay. Sadly, though, the amount of snow finally knocked out our DirecTV signal. Luckily, our Wi-Fi is on cable, so I'm still connected and happily passing the time watching videos on YouTube.

I just watched this 10-minute retrospective of a Televisa novela from 1988 named "EL EXTRANO RETORNO DE DIANA SALAZAR" - it's about witchcraft, reincarnation, telekinesis, etc., set in both the 1640s and the 1980s. It's worth watching and seeing how Televisa occasionally took risks with new, truly creative stories, even if some of the special effects look a bit cheesy now:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZbxYXS6eDGQ

Interesting, the two protagonists were probably the weakest performance-wise, but they were still pretty good, and the rest of the cast was phenomenal. It is considered a "classic" novela, but Televisa has yet to remake it. (oh, one other thing - for whatever reason, this novela was first broadcast in the USA, then in Mexico.) Also, check out the viewer comments - one suggests it should be remade with Ana Brenda and David Zepeda as the leads, and Sylvia Navarro as the villain. I would replace David Zepeda with a better lead actor, but I would kill to see Ana Brenda as the lead and Sylvia Navarro as the villain, or vice versa.

Thanks for the recap. Tried to watch but couldn't. Actually preferred reading a textbook on writing style to watching this. But sorry I missed the kiss!

Vivi thanks for your hilarious recap of the continuing poor decisions of MC. At least she and Tav kissed.

Latina - thanks for the info on Mexican audiences.

Thanks for the nice comments all. I have a snow day today, so I just watched the episode this morning. I couldn't believe that after clearing up everything between them, and sealing it with a kiss, MC reverted back to stupidity, saying she posed nude for Alfie because they had been lovers and demanding that Tav marry Doris. WTF?!

I did enjoy the kiss. The actors managed to bring back some of that old feeling.

I'm not so upset about MC being framed in prison. As far as prison hijinks go, this is pretty tame. TN heroines usually get major beatdowns and a trip to the infirmary. Solitary confinement seems like a pretty good deal to me. And that rat they showed the other day is so cute and shiny; he'd make a way better cellmate than Carola.

@JudyB - Yes, the kiss was the only thing worth seeing from this whole episode. And since I wouldn't want you to miss it, here is the "behind the scenes" EXTENDED version of the kiss:

https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=403694389753120&set=vb.272767692845791&type=3&theater

Of course, seeing this makes me that much more angry at the producer and the writers for wasting such great chemistry. ugh.

Vivi:

Thanks so much for this superb recap! I loved your references to donkeys for these characters.

The characters are all stuck on stupid aren't they? I too don't get why MC is still sticking to her story. Maybe she has an inner masochist side maybe? Don't get me started on Tav.

I too laughed when India Maria put those taillights on her burro.

I'm surprised we didn't hear Clementina do veganza monolouges. I am glad her hubby thinks Maricruz must have done in Alfonso in self defense.

Anibal is just so creepy. The actor is really good at this part. I was actually worried for Natasha.

LatinaInMD:

Thanks for the info on the fans in Mexico. If Mrs. Meija does another TN, I wonder if these same fans will remember what she did to Mar de Amor and this one. They may not invest their time on her next one.

@Madelaine - after putting up with both CCEA and C.I., I'm one of those fans who will never again watch another Lartilleux production, not even if my favorite actors are in it.

Alegria- Hopefully the protesters in the Ukraine will get to speak their minds, and be heard, without any violence.

Alegria:

I too hope the protesters in Ukraine will be heard.

LatinaInMD:

I watched CCEA too! I didn't know it was one of her productions, lol. I should have checked the credits better ; ) That one was a mess too. I've only been watching TNs since 2009 and discovered Caray Caray in late 2011. I know a lot of people aren't liking Mr. Meija either, but I have to say, I am watching La Madrastra right now and wow, what a TN. It only has some 100 epis or so, but it is keeping to the storyline of a murder, a woman accused and in jail for twenty years who didn't commit the murder, husband turned his back on her, told their children she was dead. It is almost like watching Hitchcock. When it is over I am buying the condensed DVD, it really is that good. I get the Uni TyNovelas on my cable system and just happened to see La Madrastra starting and just had to take a peek, now I'm hooked ; )

@Madelaine - The reason La Madrastra is good, in spite of Mr. Mejia, is that the original script is from Chile. After it was made in Chile under that title in the 1980s, it was then made in 1986 in Mexico under the title "Vivir Un Poco". That version stuck very close to the original Chilean version. I saw both the Chilean version and "Vivir Un Poco". If Mejia's Madrastra (which I haven't seen) stuck close to the original too, then I'm not surprised it's good. It's when they try to get "creative" that he and his wife fail miserably.

Thanks Vivi, I loved your connections with the mules and the characters. It fits so perfectly.

So the 'mother of the year' has decided to stay in jail, even after she learns that she wasn't actually protecting the man she loves from the accusation. And if she doesn't want Doris raising her daughter, continuing with this farce is even more ridiculous. But as the Gringo says, 'who cares?'

So interesting that the mexican audience was also not a fan of this turn of events. That definitely restores my faith in my fellow humans across the border.

Vivi, thanks for the recap. I really liked the title.

So, I now realize why I like this novela so much (I know I am in the minority and the Gringo has me beat for the title of number 1 fan). I really like watching someone who is more stubborn than myself. Maricruz, Maricruz... She is definitely a stubborn mule. I wonder if she is so depressed and distraught that she told Tav to marry Doris because she feels her situation is hopeless.

I have to say, as much as I have disliked Natrasha, I enjoyed seeing her without a scarf on her head. I could actually see how pretty she is.

So, I guess they won't be checking prints on the knife that cut Carola. If they did they would find no less than three separate sets of prints. None of which are MC's.

I look forward to seeing tonight's episode.

Caryn

Cry--Cry--Cry Tears in your coffee? Not me.

Vivi---an excellent job as always.

A big relief for me last night. I was expecting Maricruz to get beat up pretty badly but all that she got was solitary, which probably won't be such a bad thing
for her. As I watched the accusation last night, Carola's prison friend had the look of pure evil on her face. As it was pointed out, Maricruz tells Carola that if it's war that she wants, then it will be war that she gets.---The next few days could get very interesting.

Speaking of faces and looks, Ana Brenda and Daniel Arenas together
is a gift from the gods, it couldn't get any better. Forget about the plot, put those two together and it's a gift from heaven. A hundred more episodes please!!!

I was a little worried for Natasha
A little too close to crazy Anibal
I would say. That guy could go off at any minute. He's dangerous.

But what makes it so frustrating is that even when Octavio and Maricruz sit down and talk things out, as was the case in today's episode, she suddenly decides to continue with her idiotic decisions. Why? --- Anonymous 12/10 5:04 AM It's very simple. If she didn't, the novela would be over.

No Carvivlie---We are not "all" tired and depressed from watching this show. I'm more and more excited with each new episode. I do agree with you though about Ester's continuing love for Jack Ass. QUE/WHAT!!??

La Paloma---We were thrown a bone last night. LOL Yes we were.
the gringo

Caryn---A GREAT POINT!!!
Maricruz is very depressed and she probably does feel that her situation is hopeless, so she has made the decision to just accept her fate.

Alegria---I have been watching the news/protests taking place in the Ukraine. Damn the Lenin statue!!! I hope that things turn out for the better over there.
the gringo

Thanks Vivi for the delightful recap! I like your references to the prison being a lame high school set up. How old are these ppl?? Don't they have anything better to do....well nvm...perhaps not.

Natasha is crazy for not running away from Anibal and straight to the police station after confessing MURDER.

MC is beyond stupid...this whole I love you one second and I'm going to pretend I don't love you even if I really really do is SOO OLD. Oh well.

I will be vary wary of Nathalie Lartilleux productions from now on. Supposedly she plans on doing a remake (shocker!!) of A Venezuelan novela. Supposedly Daniel Arenas will be working with her again (QTH!) Unless I was chasing ratings I would be running in the other direction.

So I would have thought that once of the guards might have at least noticed that there was clotted blood on the knife. I guess in Mexico, the actual murder weapons are not closely examined. I'm so hoping this prison thing ends tonight or else they bring in the entire Televisa stable of rats.

Carlos

Alegria- Sorry that these writers had to take their next job in your country. Luck and peace to all of you.

Kelly

Thanks Vivi. Needed an afternoon break and so thought I would check in to see how our denizens are doing. just as I thought....just sad.

I have to admit, I gave up faithfully watching this mish mash. I tried, I really did, last night and got the scene with MC telling Tav to hit the road with Doris. Boy, I hadn't realized they had just professed their undying love. Glad I didn't know, I may have thrown something at the TV.

Hoot reading the mad artist scenes with Bandless. The words "common sense" I'm guessing are totally alien to these writers. Whatever...

Carlos, yes, let's see our little rat pack. I would tune in for them. They have been sorely missing from shows recently. I miss the one who seemed to always mug briefly for the camera. In this show, he may be up for supporting actor if they throw him in.

Daisynjay

Alegria, please be careful and safe. I read this morning that events continue to escalate and troops are surrounding Kiev. Hopefully, wiser minds will prevail and the international community can assist quieting the tensions. You'll be in my thoughts.

Daisynjay

A rat pack? That would be interesting. They seem to be fed well over there. Did Televisia give the disclaimer that no rats were harmed during filming?
the gringo

Alegria...I join with others in wishing safety for you and a peaceful resolution to all this turbulence.

Speaking of turbulence...LATINA!!!! boy, oh boy, thanks for the video of the kiss. Or actually I think I counted about 20 kisses in that time span of hot besos (perhaps I should re-watch it to get an accurate count).

Of course, seeing the TV camera in the corner chilled the mood a little. And I had to laugh at the prison extra, sitting at the table, bored blue, and seemingly going over her lines (or just muttering to herself "Why couldn't I be the one kissing Daniel Arenas?". Anyway, Octavio was doing a fine--very thorough job of it. Very thorough. Thanks amiga. I owe you.

Alegria..I am sending good vibrations your way. I am so sad to hear about all the trouble there. I have had several students from Ukraine. Be safe, and keep in touch with your Caraycaray friends.

So, what I want to say. I read almost everything about this novela, watched almost every interview. That is why I can say a lot.
For example, it was planed to be so long. Natalie had full script even before she had full cast. But from the first episode they start to cut a lot. I mean A LOT. I cant say, that all this was filmed, but the cut material enough for more then 3 episodes before the first part at rancho ended. I dont know why they did this. may Natalie wanted novela to be more dynamic. So it is obvious, that in this "cut-mood" they would get the final sooner, then everyone expected. And no one expected such a big success. So Natalie asked Romero to do something with the last 2 parts to have this amount of episodes. That is why they returned Doris. Ingrid said good bye to her character but in few days she said, that she will return. they needed to enlarge somehow the show. Romero and Natalie were not in the mood to rewrite something seriously. So they added hundreds of new characters from all the free actors of Televisa (Did you know, that the aunt of Alfi's teen-novia played by Brandon Peniche aunt?) and started to repeat dialogues and acts. And with all this they started real filming marathon. They filmed in two foros. It's not a usual practice. They wanted so much to end filming on the 31 of August, so everybody worked day and night. Leads were exhausted. But what is more important - it was useless to ask to change something. When audience tried to ask something about things at rancho they already filmed the city. So no changes. But some changes they made and made mistakes. I almost sure that Simona had to die. Even Isadora thought so. That is why they made that church wedding. But then suddenly she found her doctor, fell in love and the end of the story. I think, that Romero and Natalie realized too late, that they cant end the lines with Miguel and Simona normally end so early. They couldn't kill Simona so early, because of Octavito. Octavio and 2 children in capital is too much. Evem more, everyone begged Natalie from the FIRST episode not to repeat the plot-line with the baby from Simona. This baby was absolutely useless to the plot. But we all understand that this poor baby in the end will be or without a mother, or without a father. It's not a good example for the family-friendly novela. But noone hard our prays. Romero was to lazy to change this. And later they also couldn't kill them, because they used so loooong plot-line in capital. So it was easier to make Simona fall in love with the doctor and forget about her and her church wedding. And expect that viewers also forget about it. It is not a spoiler, I thought that they long before the end. I can't say about 2 great mistake. You will see it today and will understand what i mean. Romero used the line from other his novela but he forgot to check all details. They also made lot of mistakes with editing, and they continued to cut, cut and cut. Remember, I show they video with the most romantic scene? They cut the scene with the ill Octavio in episode, but they put it full in that video. The problem with it was the dress. MC used it only next day, so Octavio couldnt see her in it in a dream. So they cut a dream.
I agree with Latina in MD. Audience in Mexico was also furious. Even actors tried to calm them Isadora wrote regularly in her twitter that Octavio is only a victim of her madness. Soon he will do even impossible to return MC. Ana Brenda and Daniel in their interviews told a lot about love between Octavio and MC, they promised that everything soon will change. Someone saw this? In his chat Daniel said, that he begged Natalie to put more romantic scenes, because audience should understand that Octavio loves MC. But may be they cut them too. They only left 2 kidnappings. I can put a link with that chat, if someone is interested. It was made during the last week of broadcasting, but I can't remember that he said some spoilers.
Alegria

I watched this novela after Isla only to find out how worse it could be. Romero and natalie were the best in this. They always found the worse way to move the plot. But I cant understand, WHY they spoilt this pair with this chemistry. WHY???? Natalie was so lucky to have such a great young pair and what? Nothing. And now I almost sure that we never see Daniel and Ana Brenda together as a leads. Sooooo saaaad.

For all. Thank for your words. But now I have now hopes that everything will be ok. Our government now as the real novelas villains. They dont want to loose their power in any price. Prime-minister asked people to go home, because no one will defend them. From whom we want to ask. It is obvious that from them. I'm really scared and want to see a wedding in the end.

Alegria, my heart goes out to you and the people in your country. Unfortunately we in this country have not been kept well-informed about the details of the difficulties and conflict that you are experiencing there. I'm hoping for the best possible outcome for you.

Thanks for the inside information on this TN which had such promise and spark at it's inception. Its time for this thing to gather what little dignity it has left, stand back up, and stagger to the finish line.

Carlos

@Alegria - I hope things get better soon in your country.

Thanks, but just now police start to take people from the main square by force. I watch live broadcast and crying
I have no words.

How about a couple of throw-away comments on appearances here. Therecapper mentioned that Octavio looked like he was teary-eyed at the beginning of the jailhouse visit scene. Later in the scene, when it was more appropriate, they both had tabasco eyes. (I once visited the set for filming of The Young and the Restless and got to see the actors pause in a scene to have an irritant sprayed in their eyes, so I consider myself an expert on this.) My conclusion here was that Octavio had been sprayed during a previous take and his eyes were still red but MC wasn't sprayed until later when they both got the dose.

The other innane appearances comment is about the two blondie jailhouse birds. I am so struck by the fact that they obviously use the same hair dye that I think, "Oh, the jailhouse doesn't have many shades of blond in the beauty salon." But I have segued to thinking that the actual film site didn''t have many shades to choose from. Which is more likely?

Thanks Vivi, great details as always.
Latina, thanks for the Mexico info, very interesting. Madelaine, I too was hooked with Hispanic telenovelas since three or four years ago, starting with Teresa. I too, was so disappointed with CCEA and its terrible cut up version dvd. Every now and then comes up a good one and one that I like is Amor Bravio, and Refugio and AV. Was it you who also mentioned about the masochist and sadist thing about CI. I also mentioned this a while back that why the writers are doing this to us. Alegria, wow, thanks so much for that much needed explanations of things going on behind the scenes.
In the end, as Latina mentioned about the Mexican audience, I too am heavily and emotionally invested in this tn and me being a hopeless romantic, I really close my eyes to the rotten and impossible script and storyline of this novella, and hope and look foreward to a happy ending for my heroine.
BTW, I am taping/watching in the morning, a tn titled El Privilegio de Amor(?) about (again) some stubborn people. Right now, I am wondering why for a week now, all the characters do nothing but reminisce on the past events and so for 2 hours daily, we are not getting anywhere due to the flashbacks. It's not that they replay previous scenes but they make the characters think back and so the flashbacks of the same scenes over and over again. I wonder what good will it do? Can anyone explain this to me? Is it perhaps to prolong the chapters or episode? Darn those monkey writers.

I am beginning to believe Mari did have something going with Alfonzo and the reason she insist she stay in prison, be punished and forever separate from Octavio
